RAVENEYE To Release NOVA Album In SeptemberFollowing their wildly successful debut EP, Breaking Out, UK trio Raveneye are set to release their full length debut album, NOVA, worldwide on September 23rd.
Since forming in 2014, UK-based rock band Raveneye has toured globally, supporting bands such as The Darkness, Slash, Deep Purple, Halestorm and Blues Pills. The band has headlined their own tours through Europe and America and have performed at major international rock festivals such as Download Festival (UK), Hellfest Open Air Festival (France), Azkena Rock Festival ARF (Spain), Rock For People (Czech Republic), Louder Than Life (US), and Aftershock Festival (US), and will also perform at this year’s Maximus Festival in Brazil and Argentina this September. Their incendiary live shows have captivated crowds and put them on the map as a ‘must see live’ band.
Warren Riker (Lauryn Hill, Michael Jackson, Down, Anders Osborne), who engineered the debut EP, took over as producer to capture the band’s true sonic identity on NOVA. Together, Oli Brown, Aussie bassist Aaron Spiers and renowned drummer Gunnar Olsen worked at Water Music in Hoboken, New Jersey for 25 days and created an eleven-track album that pushed the band beyond its boundaries and into new ground. From the hard hitting riffs of “Inside”, “Madeline” and “Hero” to the raw sounds of “Wanna Feel You” and “Oh My Love’ to the stark reality of life and death in “Eternity”, NOVA takes you on a journey of defiance, pain, hate, death and, yes, love.
With songs filled with deep, bluesy grooves and infectious hooks that invoke giants such as Led Zeppelin and Soundgarden, Raveneye (who formed just two years ago) continue to win fans over around the world with their huge sound and killer live shows. The extensive touring in 2015 laid the ground work for a hungry fan-base and, this past April, one year after the release of their debut EP, Breaking Out, the band debuted on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart.
NOVA tracklisting:
“Wanna Feel You”
“Come With Me”
“Inside”
“Hero”
“Supernova”

Now they reveal the first lyric video for an edit of the originally 23-minute epic track ”God, The Universe, And Everything Else No One Cares About, Pt.1" (Edit), which you can find below.
Jonas Reingold had this to say about the track, which also features his colleague from The Tangent, Andy Tillison, on Hammond organ: "When you are trying to compress a 30-minute prog epic into 6 minutes, you know that you are up for a difficult task. What parts should be in it? Will the fans get the lyrical content? Can I somehow make a coherent piece of music in this format? Well, that's really up to the listener to decide but I feel strongly that the parts I put together really work well in combination with this fantastic video. I hope you will enjoy this as much as I did while working on this. Soon you all will hear the whole song, but until then, enjoy!!!" - Jonas
The is the band's first studio album since 2011's In A Perfect World, and the current lineup includes Jonas Reingold (The Flower Kings), Göran Edman (Yngwie Malmsteen), Morgan Ågren (Casualties Of Cool, Frank Zappa, Steve Vai), Lalle Larsson (Agents Of Mercy), Nils Erikson, Krister Jonsson, Andy Bartosh and Ray Aichinger.
The artwork for Dot (below) was created by Hugh Syme, who has previously made covers for Rush, Aerosmith and Iron Maiden. The album will be available as a CD/DVD jewel case (featuring The Making Of Dot, Karmakanic Live In The US and Interviews), LP with CD and digital download.

Listen To New THE PRETTY RECKLESS Single 'Take Me Down'"Take Me Down", the new single from THE PRETTY RECKLESS, was premiered earlier today via iHeartRadio and can now be streamed below.
The track, which was produced by the band's longtime collaborator, Kato Khandwala, is taken from the band's forthcoming third studio album, which is expected to be released sometime in the fall.
The "Take Me Down" single cover art features a red demonic hand with long black fingernails, shaking a mere mortal human's hand.
"Going To Hell", THE PRETTY RECKLESS' sophomore album, was released in March 2014. The effort yielded two No. 1 rock hits with "Heaven Knows" and "Messed Up World", making THE PRETTY RECKLESS the first female-fronted act to have its first two singles both hit the top spot.
THE PRETTY RECKLESS singer Taylor Momsen appeared in various movies, commercials and TV shows since she was a child, and was best known for her role on the TV show "Gossip Girl". But she has not pursued any new acting gigs since recording two albums with the band, including "Going To Hell". She told The Morning Call in a 2015 interview: "I quit 'Gossip Girl'. I was never fired and the producers and the writers were very supportive of my music career. And they knew that I was never an actress. I started as an actress 'cause you can't be putting out a record when you're 3 years old. And it was a job and paid my rent, but when I finally wrote a record worth of material that I wanted to release, it wasn't even a question. It was, 'I've got to go and this is what I'm doing now.' So music has forever been my goal and my entire life has been based around me being a songwriter. It's what I do. I live for it. So the intention is to make records and tour and make them better and better as long as I'm alive. And if the right acting role comes along at some point, and it's so perfect that I can't … then maybe. But I'm not actively pursuing it in any way, shape of form." 1

THE 69 EYES: 'Miss Pastis' Video Released"Miss Pastis", the new video from Finnish gothic metallers THE 69 EYES, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's eleventh album, "Universal Monsters", which was released on April 22 via Nuclear Blast. The CD was recorded with producer Johnny Lee Michaels at his Helsinki-based Bat Cave Studios.
"Universal Monsters" track listing:
01. Dolce Vita02. Jet Fighter Plane03. Blackbird Pie04. Lady Darkness05. Stiv & Johnny06. Never07. Miss Pastis08. Jerusalem09. Shallow Graves10. Rock 'N' Roll Junkie11. Blue
THE 69 EYES vocalist Jyrki told Reflections Of Darkness about the new album: "If somebody has heard THE 69 EYES before, he or she will know what to expect. And most likely everybody who's gonna hear this record has heard us before, because that's why we make the record; we make them for fans these days. When we had the previous album out, nearly five years ago, we were still part of the music business and had an international nature and so on, so we were pushed and interested in seeing if we can push THE 69 EYES further and maybe even have some crossover acceptance, but nowadays everything has changed and five years is a very long time. So, if we make music, we make it only the fans and obviously for ourselves. So, I think people who will hear this record will know what to expect; nothing will come as a surprise."
Regarding how the music industry has changed in the four years since the release of THE 69 EYES' previous album, "X", Jyrki said: "Four, five years ago, when we had a record out and when we released a single, it was a radio hit here in Finland. It was played all over the radio stations and was it was actually number two here in the playlists. And there was also a TV show to show the video. Now, five years later, there aren't even those radio channels left anymore that could play us, you know. So, there's no more excitement of getting airplay. I don't know if this record will be played on radio, it doesn't matter anymore. Then the TV show doesn't exist anymore. So, there are two ways to tell them that we have new music out: to play shows all around and the other thing is social media, of course. But it seems that people are actually so busy that it's hard to reach them. I'm expecting to reach at least half of the people who are, for instance, following us on Facebook. But when we had the first single out ['Jet Fighter Plane'] we put it and the video out there, and just a tiny little amount of them seemed to check it out. And then, let's say after a couple of weeks, we put the video there again saying, 'Hey, have you checked out the single?. And then there are people commenting, 'Oh, do you have new music out? That's awesome! Will you ever release a new record again?'" 7

NIGHTWISH's 'Last Ride Of The Day' Song Used By Australia's National Synchronized Swimming TeamAustralia's national synchronized swimming team has announced that it will use the NIGHTWISH song "Last Ride Of The Day" off the band's 2012 album "Imaginaerum" for their competition at the Rio 2016 Olympics. The track will be played in an orchestral version during the team's performance in Rio de Janeiro.
According to NIGHTWISH's record label, Nuclear Blast, the band feels very honored and wishes luck to the entire team.
NIGHTWISH recently announced that it will take a year-long break in 2017 following the completion of the touring activities for the group's latest album, 2015's "Endless Forms Most Beautiful". NIGHTWISH keyboardist and main songwriter Tuomas Holopainen told Finland's Kaaos TV: "It's a peculiar feeling, because throughout the twenty years [of NIGHTWISH's existence], I've never felt like this, that you really, really need to step away for a while. And it's not really fatigue — it's not like we're burning out or anything — it's just the inspiration or the passion of starting to do a new album, it's just not there. And we are fortunate enough to be in a position that we can actually take a year off, and that's a huge privilege for us. So we're just taking advantage of that."
An unofficial 20th-anniversary show will be held on August 20 at Himos Park in Jämsä, Finland.
NIGHTWISH is putting the finishing touches on a new concert DVD, to be released before the end of the year.
NIGHTWISH released a strictly limited special tour edition of "Endless Forms Most Beautiful". The tour edition came with a bonus DVD of live performances, documentary footage and promo videos as well as a huge photo gallery. 12

OPETH: Second 'Sorceress' Album TeaserThe second teaser for "Sorceress", the forthcoming album from Swedish progressive rockers OPETH, is available below. The CD is being helmed by English producer Tom Dalgety, who has previously worked with ROYAL BLOOD, KILLING JOKE and GHOST, among others.
"Sorceress" will be made available this fall via Moderbolaget/Nuclear Blast Entertainment.
Always an unstoppable force for uniqueness amid a sea of generic swill, OPETH has been setting the rulebook ablaze, and ploughing a uniquely progressive and exploratory furrow for over 25 years now. Neither conforming nor exhibiting any desire to be restricted to a single genre, OPETH, quite simply, has a time honored tradition of blowing our minds with both class and forward thinking. All these years later, nothing and everything has changed once again with "Sorceress".
"We're happy to confirm that we have indeed signed a deal with Nuclear Blast Entertainment and will be putting out our twelfth studio album, 'Sorceress', via our own imprint, Moderbolaget Records," states OPETH guitarist/vocalist and main songwriter Mikael Åkerfeldt. "The decision was made in Markus Staiger's [Nuclear Blast kingpin] ridiculously potent Porsche going at 150 mph somewhere in the south of Germany. We're happy to be part of the NB team and look forward to a fruitful relationship."
Nuclear Blast owner Markus Staiger adds: "I am honored that OPETH has joined the Nuclear Blast family. Mikael Åkerfeldt and his fellow bandmates have demonstrated time and time again that OPETH are a band that never releases an album that sounds the same. You never know what their new music will sound like! Nuclear Blast has been following the musical journey of OPETH from the beginning with 'Orchid' to landmark albums like 'Still Life', 'Deliverance', 'Damnation' and 'Blackwater Park', right up to 2014's 'Pale Communion'. The band has become one of the most challenging artists in rock music today. It is not often that we get to work with musicians of their caliber and I am thrilled to have such a unique genre-leader on the label. The future for OPETH and Nuclear Blast looks very bright." Monte Conner, Nuclear Blast Entertainment president, says: "OPETH are a band that has continually evolved and moved forward at every stage. Always innovating and always continuing to challenge themselves as players and writers. They are simply fearless. I can't wait to hear what they come up with next! It's an amazing feeling to be reunited with one of my favorite bands and I look forward to my colleagues here at Nuclear Blast being able to have their own OPETH experience and role in the band's continuing journey. I want to thank Mikael Åkerfeldt and OPETH for putting their faith and trust in everyone here at Nuclear Blast."
OPETH has announced a North American headline tour, set to kick off with a performance at Ozzfest Meets Knotfest on September 24 in San Bernardino, California. The tour, with THE SWORD as support, will continue through the following month before wrapping up on October 26 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

PAIN: First Trailer For 'Coming Home' AlbumThe first trailer for "Coming Home", the new album from PAIN, the Swedish metal band led by multi-instrumentalist and producer Peter Tägtgren, is available below. The follow-up to 2011's "You Only Live Twice" is due on September 9 through Nuclear Blast and features cover artwork by Stefan Heilemann.
Tägtgren, who last year collaborated with vocalist Till Lindemann of German industrial metallers RAMMSTEIN on the debut album from their LINDEMANN project, stated about "Coming Home": "Musically, the album is a development of where PAIN and LINDEMANN ended at — more experimental than what I've ever done before. Acoustic guitars and a helping hand again from Clemens of CARACH ANGREN with the orchestra arrangements, and some guest vocals. And Sebastian Tägtgren did a great job on the drums."
The official lyric video for the song "Black Knight Satellite" can be seen below.
Commented Peter: "'Black Knight Satellite' is based around a story that circulates on the net, both interesting and confusing.
"The song is an up-tempo song, with orchestra parts and chugging guitars — it will be great live. A typical PAIN song. Didn't wanna start off with a surprise this time."
PAIN will hit the road for a full European headline tour this autumn. The band will join forces with the German gothic metal outfit THE VISION BLEAK.
PAIN's seventh album, "You Only Live Twice", was released in June 2011 via Nuclear Blast Records. 9

SOILWORK Release Official Visualizer Clip For "These Absent Eyes"Swedish metallers Soilwork will release a special collection of rarities under the monicker Death Resonance, out on August 19th via Nuclear Blast Records. Pre-order the album at this location.
The band has released an official visualizer clip for "These Absent Eyes". The song was originally released on the Japan-only EP Beyond The Infinite which featured more songs from the recordings sessions for the band's globally praised double album The Living Infinite.
Commented singer Björn "Speed" Strid: "»Beyond The Infinite« consists of some special, quite experimental songs. They might have been cut out from the original album but have a unique charm to them. It wasn't easy to pick the final track list for »The Living Infinite«. It was never obvious which songs wouldn't make it. The writing and recording was highly experimental and playful in general, and it was through this album that we rediscovered ourselves as songwriters, with a new and improved line-up which brought - and will bring - so many interesting things to the table. Originally only released in Japan, it is with great pleasure that we finally share those special songs with you all. Enjoy!"
Soilwork recently released one of the two brand new songs off Death Resonance. Watch the lyric video for "Helsinki", created by well known videographer Tommy Antonini, below.
Commented guitarist David Andersson: "Death. It's a word that might be used too often, but it can still be interpreted in a myriad different ways. It's not just the soma being deprived of its life-force; it's also the end of infinity, the birth of new possibilities and the acceptance of inevitable change. This song was written soon after the recording of our live album in Finland, making new friends and making sure that the old ones stay with us forever, despite the fact that everything is finite."
The album artwork was created by Mnemic guitarist Mircea Gabriel Eftemie.
Says vocalist Björn 'Speed' Strid: "The cover for Death Resonance is made by Mircea Eftemie and in many ways he has managed to capture what we went through while recording The Ride Majestic: the sorrow, the close encounter with death, the aftermath and also the existential cogitation that came with it. It links those albums together, even though Death Resonance contains unreleased material from 2005 onwards. The cover almost seems like a link between life and death and not only captures where the band is right now, but also where we've been and what lies ahead."
Death Resonance tracklisting:
“Helsinki” (new song)
“Death Resonance” (new song)
“The End Begins Below The Surface” (The Ride Majestic Japan bonus track)

Portland’s BEWITCHER Join Divebomb Records For Release Of Debut Album; Track StreamingDivebomb Records has announced the addition of Portland’s Bewitcher to the roster. Their self-titled debut album will be released on September 9th.
A press release states: “Rock 'n' roll is the devil's music, and heavy metal its bastard child. In the 1980s, America's radical fundamentalist Christian right-wing waged a war against this music, bringing its practitioners and its unholy muse to the forefront of the public consciousness.
“Over a quarter-century later, the devil's rock 'n' roll is still alive and well, but the war is far from over.
“And so it came to pass...
“In the 13th year of Satan's third millennium, a new force arose to defend the ways of old. Bewitcher is the ancient black flame of magic, mayhem, freedom, and liberation—burning in blatant opposition to the laughable norms of this modern age. Instead, they look to that bygone era, before its pollution by crybaby emo wimps, when heavy metal—in all its glory—truly represented the tenets upon which it was founded.
“May your children be corrupted, may your foundations be shaken, may your mundane existences be forever altered, for this spell cannot be broken...
“Fall and obey! And beware the curse of the Bewitcher!
“Divebomb Records is thrilled to present the blackened speed metal of Bewitcher. Their self-titled debut was produced by Joel Grind (Toxic Holocaust, Lord Dying, Coliseum) and features nine tracks sure to appeal to fans of Midnight, Venom, Celtic Frost, Toxic Holocaust and Bathory.”
Tracklisting:
“Bewitcher”
“Speed ‘Til You Bleed”
“Sin Is In Her Blood”
“Wild Blasphemy”
“Midnight Hunters”
“Harlots Of Hell”
“Hot Nights, Red Lights”
“Black Speed Delirium”

SEVEN To Release Shattered Album In SeptemberSeven originate from the AOR scene in the late eighties where Polydor records having been fairly successful in the UK with the likes of Magnum and Little Angels, set their sights on Seven, a relatively unknown act that had started life as a successful South African group, reformed to hit the big time in the UK.
Seven toured extensively supporting an eclectic variety of acts that included the likes of Jason Donovan, Richard Marx, The Monkees and Brother Beyond. It’s a time period that Mick Devine is keen to reminisce about, “Even though they were out and out pop gigs, we loved the crowds and the noise. We went from pubs to opening to 3000 screaming fans in Southampton. It is a very addictive adrenaline rush. We got to play all the top venues, which were fantastic; including Wembley Arena, the NEC, BIC, SEC and even the Royal Albert Hall. The Richard Marx tour was definitely the best for us with a more grown up audience we were able to rock it up and truly be ourselves. It went down really well!”
Entering the recording studios, with John Parr at the production helm, they recorded two very strong singles in the shape of “Inside Love” and “Man with A Vision” both of which achieved moderate success in the UK.
In 2014 the original bass player Pat Davey was working alongside Robert Hart on an Escape Music album when the name Seven cropped up in the conversation. It would seem that Khalil Turk was a big fan, as Devine explains, “Yeah, back in the day Khalil had really loved the band and he got in touch to see if we would be interested in finally releasing an album,” without too much convincing the project was born.
The production talents of Lars Chriss (who’s repertoire includes albums with Steve Overland, Chris Ousey, Lugnet and Radioactive 4) were enlisted to produce the band’s debut album called 7, which was released to critical acclaim and was held up as one of the “Albums Of The Year” on many lists.
Seven was born again! Following the success of the first album, a passion was re-kindled within Devine & McFarlane, who began work on new material, and along with the writing talents of Lars Chriss (Lion’s Share, Road II Ruin), Fredrik Bergh (Bloodbound, Rob Moratti, Street Talk), Andy Loos (Lion’s Share, Glory, Chris Ousey), Kay Backlund (Lion’s Share, Niva) and Jeff Paris (Mr. Big, Y&T, Vixen, Radioactive), that passion was given focus and a place to come to life. What they discovered was a well of untapped creativity that had been hidden for far too long and the songs poured out.
Shattered, due for release on September 23rd, is a collection of wonderfully catchy songs that rely on clean and memorable melodies that allow Devine’s distinctive voice to shine through. It was Devine who took the lead in writing the lyrics on this album, matching the intensity and feel of the music to deliver a modern melodic rock album with influences ranging from hints of Foreigner in “A Better Life” and “Broken Dream”, Journey in “High Hopes” and even traces of Magnum in “Light Of 1000 Eyes” and “Last Illusion”.
The lyrical themes are drawn from a depth of life experience and observations and are heartfelt and real. The production talents of Chriss and the lineup of truly great musicians, deliver an album of depth and variation which ranges from driving guitar-led tracks with memorable riffs to melodic anthems, all backed by stunning keys, bass and standout solo’s. It is an album that is a worthy follow-up to the critically acclaimed 7.
This album represents a natural progression for Seven and it features 12 stunning tracks that are laden with great musical performances and soaring vocals, and while being fresh and up to date, they have bite and edge and yet remain melodic and catchy. This is one superb follow up album that will not disappoint.
Seven Shattered tracklisting:
“Light Of 1000 Eyes”
“A Better Life”
“Fight”
“Shattered”
“Live This Life”
“Pieces Of You”
“Broken Dream”
“High Hopes”

WAKRAT Featuring RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE Bassist TIM COMMERFORD Premier “Generation Fucked” Lyric Video; More Debut Album Details RevealedRage Against The Machine bassist and founding member Tim Commerford recently signed a worldwide record deal with legendary UK-based independent label Earache Records for his new band Wakrat. The band’s self-titled debut will be released on November 11th. Various pre-order options are available at this location. A new lyric video for the track “Generation Fucked” can be found below.
Something is missing from today's current rock scene. At a time when corruption amongst the elite is rampant, self-serving politicians are allowing tax breaks to their wealthy associates whilst imposing budget cuts to public services, austerity measures including slashing benefits to those most in need, and having the gall to claim that they're "taking our country back" when they and their friends in the media blame their nation's problems on immigration, the distinct lack of politically-charged rock bands is even more astounding.
Enough is enough - now is the time to join the Republic of Wakrat! Founded by Tim Commerford, responsible for arguably the most iconic protest song in the last 30 years during his time with Rage Against The Machine, the band self-described as 'two French nationals and one American anarchist', namely Laurent Grangeon and Mathias Wakrat, are promising to shake up the system with their aggressive and abrasive approach.
With a tight mix of punchy, rhythmic and dynamic punk rock, fuelled by political dissent and an undiminished subversion and questioning of authority, Wakrat are providing a much needed battle cry of societal angst wrapped in sonic urgency. Their UK live debut has just been announced, and will take place on July 26th at the Black Heart in London, with all proceeds going towards the homeless charity Shelter, before they set off on tour in the US with Commerford's other band, Prophets Of Rage.
Commerford comments: "We are gearing up to be on the offensive, assaulting the populous with our debut album on Earache Records. We have put a shitload of blood and sweat into this, and we want it back! Our mission is to attack modern music and smash the grid. Unapologetic, unrelenting, unbridles and uncensored. Understood?"

KING COMPANY - One For The Road EPK Video PostedHelsinki, Finland-based melodic hard rock band, King Company, will released their debut album, One For The Road, on August 26th. An EPK (Electronic Press Kit) in support of the album can be found below.
Formed in the spring of 2014 under the name No Man’s Land, King Company is a band featuring cream of the crop Finnish hard rock scene members. Drummer Mirka "Leka" Rantanen (Raskasta Joulua, Warmen, Thunderstone, Kotipelto) had been thinking about forming a new hard rock/melodic metal band for a long time. He wanted to play with people with whom he had worked before and who he knew both as good musicians and as friends. First, he contacted guitarist Antti Wirman (Warmen) who immediately joined the band. Singer Pasi Rantanen was in Mirka's mind from the beginning, as they had played together in a couple of bands before (Thunderstone, Warmen). After keyboardist Jari Pailamo (Kiuas, Ponies To Kill) and bassist Time Schleifer (Enfarce) joined the band, this super group of sorts was finally ready to start working.
King Company’s debut album, One For The Road, is a trip back in time to the melodic hard rock world of the golden 80’s and 90’s. The band’s biggest influences come from legendary bands such as Deep Purple, Rainbow and Whitesnake, but also from other great acts like Europe, Mr Big, Lynch Mob, and Dokken. All this, but with a contemporary twist! Singer Pasi Rantanen has taken his biggest influences from the great David Coverdale and you can definitely hear it. King Company salutes all these great bands and fans of this genre with their debut album and they are hoping to reach people who are new to this kind of music too.
The album’s title track, ”One For The Road” says it all. “Some of us got in this ride back in the 80’s and we are still on that same road,” tells Mirka Rantanen. “It was 1985 we were young and wild and free, We dreamed of playing rock'n roll, and sitting in a black limousine...we still believe!”
Mirka continues: “Our debut album One For The Road should have been done years ago, but there was’t simply time to form King Company. We all had our own projects and we were too busy in our personal lives. Many of us have played in power metal and extreme metal bands, but something has always been missing. We wanted to write an album full of songs that we have always wanted to play. And we did. Most of the songs have been written together around Antti Wirman’s guitar riffs, but there are some older song from Pasi Rantanen that we re-arranged to a more modern form. The greatest ballad on the album is called “Cast Away” and it’s written by the keyboardist Jari Pailamo. Most of the lyrics are written by Mirka and Pasi.”
One For The Road tracklisting:
“One For The Road”
“Shining”
“In Wheels Of No Return”
“Coming Back To Life”
“No Man's Land”

VALIENT THORR Premier “Mirakuru” Music VideoValient Thorr have released a video for “Mirakuru”, the lead track from their Napalm Records debut and seventh full-length release, Old Salt, due for release on July 29th. The new clip can be found below.
They came from Venus to destroy the cities. Valient Thorr is a wild ass rock ’n roll band said to hail from inside of the planet Venus. Since crash landing on Earth in the year 2000, they've played well over 1,500 shows all over the world. They've toured with visionaries from Motörhead and Joan Jett to contemporary heroes like Mastodon, Gogol Bordello, and Clutch. Since 2005 they have put out six full-length records and two seven inches! And just so you don't think we're blowing smoke, look them up! This is only the cusp of the feats of greatness this hard working, sweat drenched band has accomplished!
Valient Himself commented on the new album: "Old Salt wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for Eidan Thorr. He helmed this beast & put the wheels in motion. What is it about? If you ask me it's about stepping into the future as an artist while trying to anticipate what comes next using that old man logic that comes with age- that no one ever tells you about until it's time to say "if I'd known then what I know now". All the best old storytellers aren't just weaving you yarns. They are recounting from experiences. And believe me, we've had plenty of those in the last few years."
Pre-order your copy of Old Salt in exclusive bundle packages here.
Old Salt tracklisting:
“Mirakuru”

LORDI To Release 'Monstereophonic: Theaterror Vs. Demonarchy' Album In SeptemberFinnish heavy metal monsters LORDI have set "Monstereophonic: Theaterror Vs. Demonarchy" as the title of their new album, due in Europe on September 16 and in the U.S. on September 30 via AFM Records. The follow-up to 2014's "Scare Force One" was produced by Nino Laurenne (APOCALYPTICA, STRATOVARIUS, CHILDREN OF BODOM, AMORPHIS), who previously worked on the band's 2008 effort "Deadache".
"Monstereophonic: Theaterror Vs. Demonarchy" track listing:
01. SCG8: One Message Waiting02. Let's Go Slaughter He-Man (I Wanna Be The Beast-Man In The Masters Of The Universe)03. Hug You Hardcore04. Down With The Devil05. Mary Is Dead06. Sick Flick07. None For One08. SCG VIII: Opening Scene09. Demonarchy10. The Unholy Gathering11. Heaven Sent Hell On Earth12. And The Zombie Says13. Break Of Dawn14. The Night The Monsters Died
Speaking to Spark TV, which is part of the Czech monthly magazine Spark, LORDI frontman Mr. Lordi stated about the band's new album: "We are trying to do something different within the LORDI frame this time. It's like a split album between ourselves.
"There's two kinds of LORDI material on the album. The first six songs are your classic LORDI kind of stuff — three- or four-minute songs with hooky choruses and stuff; eighties-orientated hard rock, like the shit that we're doing. That's our main stuff. But now, the last six songs of the album is gonna be a story.
"It's our first conceptual half an album — not a full conceptual album, but half of the album is a conceptual storyline with six songs. And musically, also, it's a lot more modern for us; I mean, it's nothing new in the world of music, but, for us, for LORDI, it's completely different. It's more metal. It's more progressive. The songs are eight minutes long, and there are a lot of different parts. And it's a storyline. Because I'm a huge KING DIAMOND fan; I have always been.
"I am really fucking thrilled about the result, how it came out. It's different for us. I know that it's gonna be different for the LORDI diehard fans too. I don't know for your average rock or metal fan. It's, like, 'Eh….' But, for us, it is really breaking new territory, definitely."
Mr. Lordi went into more detail about the lyrical themes covered on the new LORDI album. He said: "It's a horror story. It's called 'Demonarchy'. It has, like, these classic old-school monsters having rivals… They are having territorial rivals. There's one vampire, one witch, on zombie, and a werewolf. And they are having a bit of a dispute about how to share their territory, because they all live in the same town. That's the story."
The LORDI frontman also spoke about the band's brand new look, which can be seen in the photo above.
"It was really shitty that the timing was overflapping now. 'Cause originally we were supposed to be in the studio [to record the new album] already in December [2015]. Then we were supposed to have the album out already in May, last month. But then my father died two weeks before the studio [was scheduled to start], so everything [got pushed back]. And then there was the Christmas break and the fucking New Year, and we lost our original producer, Mikko Karmila, who was supposed to do it. And then we were kind of, like, 'Oh, what the hell do we do now?' So, well, we found Nino Laurenne, who actually produced 'Deadache' eight years ago, nine years ago or something, which was fucking awesome to go back to the same studio. So it will come out in September. So, of course, now the timeline was, all of a sudden, really pushing. So that means that at the same time we were in the studio, I had to start doing the new costumes and masks.
"It's cool, actually. The new costumes are also something different. Like I said, the album is like a split album with ourselves. The costumes are gonna be split in half too. There's this half and that half, so there's something new also in the costumes. It's like two different versions of each character."
LORDI will launch a headlining tour in support of the new album on October 1. 3

Video: JOURNEY's NEAL SCHON Performs Canada's National Anthem In TorontoQ107 has uploaded footage of JOURNEY guitarist Neal Schon performing a guitar version of Canada's national anthem, "O Canada", live during the band's July 7 concert at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Check out the clip below.
Asked by JamBands.com last month if there are any plans for JOURNEY to record new music, Schon said: "Yeah, I've been writing. Jonathan [Cain, keyboards] has been working on his solo thing, but I think he's just about done with that. I think that we're going to come up with some new material.
"I'm so happy that Steve [Smith, drums] has come back into the fold with us," he continued. "He resurrects a lot — so many of the years that went by with JOURNEY. Past, present, and future looks really good with him, and he's having a really good time. A bonafide great time. I think he's loving it a lot more than he thought he would. He was doing his jazz thing for so long, and now he's really venturing out, doing a few other records here or there, whether they're my records or his own records.
"It's been a long time since he's done anything like JOURNEY. He's the ultimate professional. He directs everything. He couldn't remember a lot of it, because it's been so many years and decades that have gone by, but he dove back in and relearned everything as he originally played it. Now he's taking it to a new plateau."
JOURNEY's most recent studio album, "Eclipse", was released in May 2011. The Walmart exclusive debuted on The Billboard 200 album chart at No. 13 — eight spots lower than the band's previous album, 2008's "Revelation" — which also went on to hit No. 1 on Billboard's Top Independent Albums chart. 1

DROWNING POOL To Perform With 82-Year-Old 'America's Got Talent' Contestant At CHICAGO OPEN AIRTexas heavy rockers DROWNING POOL recently surged to viral status after 82-year-old Navy veteran and aerospace manager John Hetlinger performed his favorite karaoke track — DROWNING POOL's hit song "Bodies" — on the popular NBC competition show "America's Got Talent", surprising and charming viewers everywhere. Video of the performance instantly went viral, with over seven million views in the first two weeks... and counting. Shortly after the outpouring of attention, DROWNING POOL guitarist CJ Pierce sat down for a chat with Entertainment Weekly, inviting Hetlinger to perform with them during their upcoming set at the Chicago Open Air festival. Hetlinger replied on Twitter accepting the invitation, and the rest is history! Hetlinger will join DROWNING POOL onstage at Chicago Open Air during their 2:00 p.m. set on Friday, July 15. Hetlinger states: "I am really amped up to see y'all when DROWNING POOL and I join you in Chicago this Friday afternoon for the Chicago Open Air festival. We are going to have a blast together — let the bodies hit the floor!" Hetlinger told KUSA that he was surprised by the reaction to his "America's Got Talent" performance.
"I didn't know two and a half thousand in the audience would react the same way that 30 drunks in the bar do, but they did!" he said.
"Everybody seems to think it's great that an old man is screaming 'let the bodies hit the floor!'" John added.
Hetlinger, who was a Navy pilot, later a minister and then an aerospace engineer for Ball Aerospace in Boulder where he worked on a team that made repairs to the Hubble telescope, said that he is not bothered by any of the criticism of his performance.
"There are reviews in all the heavy metal magazines and all over the world, but they include statements like, 'Well, admittedly he doesn't sing very well,'" John said with a laugh.
John, who also has ROB ZOMBIE's "Dragula" in his repertoire, got hooked on karaoke after singing during talent shows on cruise ships in the '90s.
"He likes attention," John's wife, Marcy, said. "He's the youngest of five kids."
Pierce said he first heard about Hetlinger's performance when family and friends starting texting him about it, explaining: "I picked up my phone and I got a handful of texts from a number of people because I guess it got out yesterday ahead of the airing… I watched it, and man, I am so entertained by it. It's awesome to just see an 82-year-old man get out there and just belt out some metal — whether it was our song or any song, it was just killer to see him do that."
Pierce adding jokingly about DROWNING POOL's history of changing singers, "You know, we've had a revolving door, but Jasen Moreno is our man right now. But if he doesn't work out, we always know we've got John on the backburner."
"Bodies" was DROWNING POOL's first big hit back in 2001, when it appeared on the band's debut album "Sinner". The band's original singer, Dave Williams, died that August of heart disease.
Despite being a huge rock radio smash, it was removed from radio playlists for a while later that year in the wake of the September 11 terrorist attacks.
DROWNING POOL's sixth studio album, "Hellelujah", came out earlier this year and features the singles "By The Blood" and "Hell To Pay". 1

RED FANG To Release 'Only Ghosts' Album In OctoberFun-loving Portland-based rock band RED FANG will release its new album, "Only Ghosts", on October 14 via Relapse. The disc was produced by Ross Robinson, who has previously worked with SLIPKNOT, SEPULTURA and KORN, among many others. The effort was recorded earlier this year at Robinson's Venice, California studio.
In a recent Revolver magazine interview, RED FANG bass player Aaron Beam joked that the experience of working beachside was "pretty miserable," later adding that working with Ross encouraged the band to take a different approach to recording. "He really digs into the meaning behind the songs so that when you're recording, you're doing it with conviction and purpose," he said. "It's less about the little technical things. He's more concerned with getting a performance and focusing on what you're trying to give the world by making this music in the first place." Joe Barresi (QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, TOOL, MELVINS) mixed the album. "Working with Ross and Joe on this record was a huge leap forward for us," said the band. "The process was very challenging and rewarding, and I think we're a better band for it. This album expresses exactly where we're at. We're super proud of it and can't wait for people to hear it!" "Only Ghosts" track listing:
01. Flies02. Cut It Short03. Flames04. No Air05. Shadows06. Not For You07. The Smell of the Sound08. The Deep09. I Am a Ghost10. Living in Lye
The song "Flies" can be streamed below.
RED FANG's last album, "Whales & Leeches", was released in October 2013 via Relapse Records. The 11-song effort landed the band on "The Late Show With David Letterman" and in a world of trouble in the zombie-infused video for "Blood Like Cream", which featured guest Fred Armisen. Alternative Press said "Whales & Leeches" was "bigger, bolder, heavier, catchier and even more savagely fun."

THE AGONIST: Teaser For New AlbumMontreal, Quebec, Canada-based melodic death metallers THE AGONIST have posted a teaser for their forthcoming album — their first since signing a worldwide deal with Napalm Records. The CD was recorded with producer Mike Plotnikoff, who has previously worked with BUCKCHERRY, OTEP, HALESTORM, DROWNING POOL, THEORY OF A DEADMAN, 3 DOORS DOWN, FEAR FACTORY, FLYLEAF and SKILLET, among others. THE AGONIST guitarist Danny Marino stated about the band's new material: "Since recording 'Eye Of Providence', we have been exploding with creativity and are set to record our best record to date. We've been working non-stop on the material on and off the road and now after four albums we have really found ourselves.
"Vicky [Psarakis, vocals] and I seem to operate on a hive mind where we know exactly what the other is going for in the writing before it happens. It can actually be freaky sometimes. We are also very excited to be recording this album with Mike Plotnikoff. His experience and input will really help take our sound to a new level." "Eye Of Providence" was released in February 2015 via Century Media. The band's first CD with Psarakis was recorded at The Grid studio in their hometown with producer Chris Donaldson (CRYPTOPSY).
Vicky joined THE AGONIST as the replacement for Alissa White-Gluz, who left the band to focus on her new gig as the frontwoman of ARCH ENEMY.

"Resurrection" is the second part of Tate's musical trilogy.
