STATUS QUO's RICK PARFITT is 'Making An Excellent And Steady Recovery'STATUS QUO guitarist Rick Parfitt is "making an excellent and steady recovery" after suffering a suspected heart attack last month, it has been revealed.
Simon Porter, the band's manager, added: "Rick has now had a defibrillator fitted into his chest in order to regulate any future heart issues and has left hospital in order to recuperate with family and friends. "Although I am now happy to report that his medical team anticipate that Rick will make a full recovery, it will likely be a long and ongoing process. "To this end, Rick has given his full blessing for the band to continue with the current summer touring schedule utilizing guest guitarists. Freddie Edwards, son of QUO bass player John 'Rhino' Edwards has successfully stepped in for Rick over recent gigs and will now continue for the majority of QUO's shows during July and August, the current exceptions being gigs in Leuven, Belgium and Edinburgh, Scotland on July 20th and 23rd where Irish guitarist Richie Malone will step in." Rick's family has said: "We would like to thank everyone including the fans for their messages of support during the last weeks and especially the kindness and care of all the staff at the Royal Brompton." Both the band and Rick would like to thank the fans for their continued understanding and support and would like to stress that he will return to the fold as soon as possible, but in Rick's best interests, any return will not be rushed until he makes a full and absolute recovery.
Parfitt has experienced a number of health setbacks over the years, including a quadruple heart bypass in 1997, a throat cancer scare in 2005 and a heart attack in 2011.
STATUS QUO was forced to cancel a number of shows in 2014 after Parfitt was told by doctors to rest following surgery to correct a problem with his previous heart bypass.
Parfitt and STATUS QUO frontman Francis Rossi recently announced they were hanging up their electric guitars for good following one final tour.

Video: STEVEN TYLER Performs AEROSMITH, BEATLES Classics In VancouverFan-filmed video footage of Steven Tyler's July 10 performance at Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada as part of his "Out On A Limb" solo tour can be seen below.
Tyler will release his first-ever solo album, "We're All Somebody From Somewhere", on July 15 via Big Machine Label Group's Dot Records. The AEROSMITH frontman produced the 15-track country-flavored CD with T Bone Burnett, Dan Huff, Marti Fredriksen and Jaren Johnston.
"Out On A Limb" is a 19-city run that finds Tyler appearing at intimate venues with a Nashville-based backing band, LOVING MARY.
"The last time we did small venues was at the end of that first run of AEROSMITH, about '81, '82, '83," Tyler told Rolling Stone. "We started going down, the band started breaking up. . . [But] I always loved them. I prefer them. I like to look out and everybody's close, as opposed to [a crowd of] 20,000 when there's the barricade and they keep everybody back, going, 'We need a fire lane!' I'm going, 'What the fuck? I can't see or feel the people.
"It's a very living-room thing to play small venues, it's a little more personal," he continued. "I get to talk to people and be up-close and personal, and tell them how the music business is a dark trench, a dark, dirty, money trench. [Laughs] And talk about where I get my inspiration from and talk about the new songs on the record and get to play, finally, songs that we couldn't because the record will be out by then."

GUNS N' ROSES Parking Lot: A Mini DocumentaryFor the first time in two decades, three members of the classic GUNS N' ROSES lineup of Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan reunited and are playing live in front of throngs of diehard GN'R worshippers.
To find out just how dedicated these fans are and to get a better understanding of the GUNS N' ROSES fan mindset, Consequence Of Sound's cameras went to the band's recent show at Soldier Field in Chicago.
Get the fans' thoughts on the GN'R reunion in the video below.
A new report by The Wall Street Journal revealed that of the 25 shows GUNS N' ROSES is playing on its "Not In This Lifetime" stadium, 12 have either sold out or are close to it, with concert promoter Live Nation saying it expects to sell out five more on an average ticket price of $130.
While the first two shows in Detroit and Washington D.C. were packed, with 41,000 fans turning up in the Motor City, 27,000 went to see GUNS at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. And while the first of two shows at Soldier Field in Chicago was sold out, the second show was far from packed, with one half of the upper deck completely empty.
Asked for a comment, Live Nation stated that the tour was "an unqualified success," adding, "Not only is it the #1 rock tour of the summer, it will be one of the top-grossing tours of 2016 and one of the most successful reunion tours of all time. At six shows into the tour, it has already grossed more than $100,000,000 in ticket sales."
Live Nation exec Bob Roux said that the company expects to sell one million tickets for the tour, roughly 90 percent of what's available. He added that some less well-attended shows were the result of the band playing cities it wanted to play, rather than sticking to the highest population centers that would better guarantee sellouts.
The trek features classic lineup members Slash, Duff McKagan and Axl Rose backed by drummer Frank Ferrer, guitarist Richard Fortus, keyboardist Dizzy Reed and new second keyboardist Melissa Reese.
As previously reported, drummer Steven Adler performed with GUNS N' ROSES again on Saturday night (July 9) in Nashville, and also spent some time with Slash, McKagan, Ferrer and Reese during soundcheck. Adler joined GUNS for "My Michelle" and "Out Ta Get Me", the same songs he played with them in his first appearance on this tour last Wednesday (July 6) in Cincinnati.

RINGWORM Unleash "Innocent Blood" Lyric VideoCleveland metal / hardcore crew Ringworm has debuted a lyric video (animated by Mitchell Luna of labelmates Maruta) for the thundering track "Innocent Blood", taken from the band's forthcoming new full-length Snake Church.
Ringworm's eighth full-length album Snake Church is a 12-track, 30+ minute testament of vicious aggression. Vancouver's WORMWITCH Sign With Prosthetic RecordsProsthetic Records has announce the signing of Vancouver-based metal outfit Wormwitch.
An early incarnation of the group started as more of a hardcore / punk group but as the band’s influence of Celtic Frost, Darkthrone and Disfear started showing up more in their music, they chose to rebrand themselves as Wormwitch. The quartet released their first EP, The Long Defeat in October 2015 and by early 2016 had already premiered a new track, "Coffin Birth". It was then that they caught the attention of Prosthetic Records and soon a worldwide deal was struck.
The band remarked: "Signing to Prosthetic is quite an honor and it's mostly with thanks to our local music scene, for being a place we could grow and come to do this thing we love, that we move forward onto the next step in our musical journey. Prosthetic has housed and still houses some extremely influential bands and we're excited to make a name for ourselves here as we continue to progress.”
Wormwitch will enter Rain City Recorders later this month with producer Curtis Buckoll (Archspire) to begin work on their debut full length album, due out early 2017. Regarding the direction of the new material, the band comments, “it's darker, heavier, more thoughtful, more primitive, and heavily rooted in the classic rock and metal sound that has shaped the genre, while still being uniquely Wormwitch."
Wormwitch is:
Colby Hink - guitar
Kyle Shields - bass
Robin Harris - vocals
Max Vüst - drums

Video Premiere: BEARTOOTH's 'Hated'"Hated", the new video from Columbus, Ohio's BEARTOOTH, can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's new album, "Aggressive", which was released on June 3 via Red Bull Records.
In the two short years since their debut album was cooked up in frontman Caleb Shomo's basement, BEARTOOTH has catapulted into heavy music's stratosphere. They have collected over ten million views on YouTube, trekked around the globe sharing the stage with SLIPKNOT, PIERCE THE VEIL, BRING ME THE HORIZON and SLEEPING WITH SIRENS and playing festivals like Reading and Leeds, Download and the Vans Warped Tour.
For "Aggressive", Shomo again retreated to his home studio to write, perform and produce the album's twelve tracks, re-teaming with John Feldmann (THE USED, BLINK-182) for a bit of songwriting contribution and enlisting David Bendeth (KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, PARAMORE) to mix the release. The resulting songs have as much in common with stomping metalcore as old-school punk, vintage screamo and harder-edged pop punk, combining circle pit-inducing bangers with soaring choruses and bridging raw authentic intensity with accessibility.
"Aggressive" track listing:
01. Aggressive02. Hated03. Loser04. Fair Weather Friend05. Burnout06. Sick Of Me07. Censored08. Always Dead09. However You Want It Said10. Find A Way11. Rock Is Dead12. King Of Anything
BEARTOOTH has announced a North American headlining fall tour. The "Aggressive" tour presented by The Noise kicks off October 2 in Chicago, Illinois and ends with a hometown show at Express Live! in Columbus on November 11. 1

The "This Could Be Heartbreak" full-length disc arrives on Friday, August 12. "This Could Be Heartbreak" is available now for pre-order in a variety of limited edition physical bundles TheAmityAffliction.net and all DSPs, with all digital pre-orders accompanied by an instant grat download of "This Could Be Heartbreak", as well as the album's gripping first single, "I Bring The Weather With Me". Today's premiere follows the recent video debut of "I Bring The Weather With Me", also directed by Staubach and fast approaching 1.5 million individual views at YouTube alone. THE AMITY AFFLICTION will celebrate "This Could Be Heartbreak" with a suitably epic world tour, highlighted by a North American headline trek this fall. The dates — which see the influential Australian band traveling with special guests including BEING AS AN OCEAN, HUNDRETH, TROPHY EYES and DEADSHIPS — get underway September 11 at the Grenada Theatre in Lawrence, Kansas and then continue through mid-October. Furthermore, THE AMITY AFFLICTION is set to perform at a range of upcoming summer festivals, including Denver, Colorado's High Elevation (September 10), Chester, Pennsylvania's Rock Allegiance (September 18), Fort Worth, Texas's Texas Mutiny (September 24), Houston, Texas's Houston Open Air (September 25), Louisville, Kentucky's Louder Than Life (October 1) and Janesville, Wisconcin's Sonic Boom (October 2). The North American tour dates follow an incredibly busy summer schedule for THE AMITY AFFLICTION. The band — which has just wrapped a successful European run highlighted by performances at such famed festivals as France's Hellfest and the U.K.'s legendary Download — recently announced a series of intimate Australian headline shows, all of which sold out in a matter of minutes. Deeply personal and emotionally wrenching, "This Could Be Heartbreak" is THE AMITY AFFLICTION's most transformative and revealing record yet. Recorded by producer and longtime collaborator Will Putney at Melbourne's Holes And Corners with additional drum tracking done at Sing Sing Studios, the album finds THE AMITY AFFLICTION evolving their signature powerful and cathartic song craft. Both ambitious and grand, album standouts "This Could Be Heartbreak" and "All Fucked Up" are equal parts heavy and hopeful, fueled by frontman Joel Birch's desperation which achieves extraordinary transcendence through radical honesty and absolute power. "This Could Be Heartbreak" track listing:

LAMB OF GOD's RANDY BLYTHE Says He Was 'Almost Killed' In Road Accident Over The WeekendRandy Blythe says that he was "almost killed" over the weekend by an allegedly distracted truck driver who "plowed into" the trailer of the chase vehicle the LAMB OF GOD frontman and his friends were traveling in.
According to Blythe, the accident took place on Saturday, July 9 when he and his companions had parked on the side of a two-lane country road in Oklahoma.
In a series of Instagram posts, Randy addressed the driver of the truck directly when recalling details of the incident. He wrote: "I watched as you plowed into our chase vehicle's trailer — I saw your truck hit it and fly into the air. Like a slow-motion horror movie scene, you sprouted deadly wings and flew high into the air towards us before crashing onto the road a few feet away. You had hit another truck before you even crashed into our trailer.
"We were in the middle of nowhere, on wide-open road, with a clear view for miles. How did you not see us? How fast were you going to run into two vehicles and still fly into the air like that?
"We were stopped and completely off the road, the other truck behind us that you hit was going maybe 3 mph, maximum. We were all aware of each other — somehow, you were not."
You can read the rest of Blythe's posts below.
LAMB OF GOD is continuing to play shows in support of its latest album, "VII: Sturm Und Drang", which was released in July 2015 via Epic in the U.S. and Nuclear Blast Entertainment in all territories outside of North America. The CD was once again produced and mixed by Josh Wilbur with engineering by Wilbur, Nick Rowe and Kyle McAulay, and was recorded at NRG Recording Studios in North Hollywood, California and Suburban Soul Studios in Torrance, California.
LAMB OF GOD's third album, "Ashes Of The Wake", which came out in 2004 via Epic, was officially certified gold in February by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) for sales in excess of a 500,000 copies. 7

PAGAN'S MIND, SECRET SPHERE, SYMPHONY X, Ex-HELLOWEEN Members Join Forces In SHADOWSPELLFrontiers Music Srl has announced the signing of SHADOWSPELL, a new melodic metal act born from a collaboration between Italian guitarist/songwriter Aldo Lonobile and Norwegian vocalist Nils K. Rue.
Lonobile is best known for his extraordinary work with power/progressive stalwarts SECRET SPHERE while Nils K. Rue has has traversed the globe with Norwegian progressive metal veterans PAGAN'S MIND.
The two musicians met for the first time in 2003 during the ProgPower USA in Atlanta, when PAGAN'S MIND and SECRET SPHERE were both featured on the bill. They forged a friendship that has lasted the last 13 years, leading to the creation of songs between performances and writing duties for their respective main bands.
The rest of the super group lineup features SYMPHONY X bassist Mike LePond, ex-GAMMA RAY, HELLOWEEN and MASTERPLAN drummer Uli Kusch and Lonobile's former bandmate in SECRET SPHERE, Antonio Agate (ex-ODD DIMENSION).
The concept caught the attention of Frontiers Music Srl president Serafino Perugino and went from being just an idea on paper and a few demos to the birth of SHADOWSPELL.
Lonobile says that "every time Nils sings, he amazes me!" before adding that "The ideas we are working on are superb. The result will be a melodic metal album featuring lots of orchestrations, great solos and riffs and killer melodies. You can hear old QUEENSRŸCHE, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN and SAVATAGE influences! Be ready for a melodic metal jewel."
He continues: "I am very grateful to Frontiers for the chance to release this work which I am extremely proud of!"
Rue comments: "I am really stoked about this. Some of the lyrics and melody lines I laid down on the demo songs we wrote over the years are really personal to me and I put my full heart into them.
"Between work with PAGAN'S MIND, EIDOLON and other projects, the SHADOWSPELL songs were a way to let out the real emotional part of me. Often recorded alone in my home studio, just before sunrise while in a very creative and intense mood, it mirrors the real me in a right way. It was like: I could come home heartbroken, with no one to talk to. So I started to record my emotions right there on Aldo's tracks only to put the whole thing on the shelf the next day, leaving it there for years.
"I couldn't think of anyone better to write emotional and heavy music with than Aldo. He's my soul brother musically and his compositions give me goosebumps." 1

AEROSMITH's JOE PERRY 'Stable' After Collapsing During ConcertAEROSMITH guitarist Joe Perry is in stable condition after reportedly being forced to leave the stage during a concert by his side project the HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES earlier tonight (Sunday, July 10).
The 65-year-old Perry was performing at the Ford Amphitheater at Coney Island Boardwalk.
According to fans who attended the show, Perry sat down on the drum riser while appearing to have difficulty playing, and then left the stage mid-song. Footage taken at the gig shows a frail Perry struggling to perform, then stumbling behind the amp stack.
