HIGH FIGHTER – New Album Details Revealed

HIGH FIGHTER – New Album Details Revealed

Hamburg-based sludge metal / stoner / power doom band High Fighter, who already gained high praise in the scene for their self-released demo EP The Goat Ritual back in the end of 2014, have just unveiled some new details about their upcoming, first full length album. After the band formed in the summer of 2014 and in one band year only, High Fighter heavily toured across Europe including UK dates, shared the stages with bands such as Ahab, Mammoth Storm, The Midnight Ghost Train, Corrosion of Conformity or Greenleaf, and played festivals in 2015 such as Stoned from the Underground, Sonic Blast in Portugal, Red Smoke Poland, Hamburg Metaldayz and an exclusive press showcase live at Wacken Open Air 2015.

High Fighter have finished the work on their debut studio record, and have unveiled the first details about Scars & Crosses, set to be released June 10th on Svart Records on CD digipak, digital, and LP gatefold.

Scars & Crosses has been recorded live at RAMA Studio in Mannheim, Germany ( Ahab, The Hirsch Effekt, Fjørt and many more ) by Jens Siefert, and is mixed and mastered by Toshi Kasai (Melvins, Big Business) in Los Angeles. Again the band worked with artist Dominic Sohor from the UK, who has already been responsible for the stunning artwork of The Goat Ritual back in 2014, on the band's upcoming album:

UNBOWED Release “The Fall” Video

UNBOWED Release “The Fall” Video

There are some bands that create music, and the there are others that create beautifully expressive worlds within their music. This collision of art and music is a unique and wholly difficult thing to pull off successfully. The latest to do so is Canadian blackened death outfit, Unbowed. Not only have the members created an EP of songs that rivals big boys such as Behemoth and Carach Angren, they have done so with an entirely DIY attitude. Said EP, Dogma, released late last year, was recorded and mixed entirely by the band. Adding to this DIY attitude, the guys have also created and crafted their first-ever performance video; again a venture taken on by the members themselves. The video perfectly expresses the band's penchant for oneness within the universe - a stunningly epic trip that captures the ritualistic nature of their art.

Unbowed began as two-man studio project in spring of 2011. From 2011 through 2015, Unbowed independently released a self-titled EP, a full-length album, and assembled a live lineup which played shows throughout Ontario, Canada including opening for major international acts such as Battlecross, Einherjer, The Contortionist, and Erimha. Currently, Unbowed is gearing up for the release of their latest and most matured offering Dogma. Dogma is a 4 song EP consisting of the band's most visceral and expansive material to date.

Dogma, the follow-up to Unbowed's 2014 debut full-length, Collapse The World, certainly reflects the deeper meaning of the band's monicker. The songs contained within are eloquent, forceful, and wholly unyielding.

ALL HAIL THE YETI Release Silent Film-Inspired Music Video For “Daughter Of The Morning Star”

ALL HAIL THE YETI Release Silent Film-Inspired Music Video For “Daughter Of The Morning Star”

All Hail The Yeti released their new full-length concept album, Screams From A Black Wilderness, earlier this month via Minus Head Records. The concept, based on classic campfire-circle horror stories, presents a different story with each track.

Today, the band premiere their new silent film-inspired music video for one of the album's standout tracks, "Daughter Of The Morning Star".

Finalizing their conceptual music video series, the "Daughter Of The Morning Star" video is designed to depict the earliest part of the "Before The Flames" / "After The Great Fire" satanic nun saga. The video is once again directed by Brian Cox of Flarelight Films.

Vocalist Connor Garritty explains the concept behind this particular video: "This story begins in the late 1400's with a pagan witch/wiccan woman who lives by herself, purposefully distanced from a village of Christian Puritans. They are scared of her because she is different and doesn't follow their ideals. The men from the village plan to get rid of her and hunt her down. They rape her, beat her and leave her for dead. She then transforms and summons the power of the devil and takes revenge on the men and the people from the village."

Sweden’s FEARED Featuring Members Of THE HAUNTED, SUFFOCATION And CLAWFINGER To Celebrate 10th Anniversary With Release Of Reborn Album; Teaser Video Streaming

2016 sees Feared celebrating their 10th anniversary and to mark the occasion the Swedish group will release a best-of album titled Reborn on June 3rd.

Guitarist and founder Ola Englund commented: “We always felt that the first two albums were not up to par with Furor Incarnatus, Vinter and Synder. Refeared and Rejects didn't have real drums and it has a lot to be desired mixing job so we decided to revisit these two releases. Reborn is a best of Refeared and Rejects totally re-recorded and revamped for the 10th anniversary. We believe the songs have much more to offer with real drums, better production, new mix, new master etc. We're extremely proud about our whole catalogue and we want to thank our fans and followers for their constant support.”

“The Bridge”

Teaser:

Formed in 2007, Feared was the brainchild of guitarist and producer Ola Englund, but from a potent start it soon disbanded. The heart and presence of the band though continued to breathe through Englund and the numerous instrumental songs he recorded and released on YouTube as tutorials. It was 2010 which saw Feared beginning to re-emerge when the guitarist and vocalist Mario Ramos (Demonoid) worked on a self-titled debut album; a release swiftly earning acclaim and support from fans and media alike. The energy and passion of the band only grew and blossomed from thereon in, as equally its evolving sounds. The following year saw the greedily received Rejects unveiled, as well as a re-recorded and remixed version of their debut album called Refeared, both pushing the band into broader attention. They were followed in 2013 by praise soaked third album Furor Incarnatus, it similarly whipping up a torrent of eager responses and new spotlights.

It was eclipsed in exploration and imagination, not forgetting acclaim, by Vinter a year later though. The album came after a period between releases which saw Englund also become the new guitarist of Swedish comrades The Haunted, drummer Kevin Talley (Suffocation, ex-Dying Fetus, ex-Black Dahlia Murder) additionally join the ranks of BattleCross, and ex-Clawfinger bassist Jocke Skog recruited by and bringing Feared another surge of new energy and thought. It all only strengthened the intensive passion and inventive appetite of the band, as well as sparking fresh avenues to investigate in sound, all evidenced dramatically in Vinter and with even greater adventure on its successor Synder.

Meaning sins in English, Synder is the blistering success of Feared pushing their limits and imaginations into darker depths and intimate challenges once more yet emerging as provocative and expansive landscapes of furious sound and unbridled emotion. Produced by Englund and Skog, and wrapped in the striking artwork of Sylvain Razorimages, Synder is the most intensive collaboration within the band yet; a sonic emprise breeding one explosive tempest and inspiring intensive roar from the heart of Feared.

2016 sees Feared celebrating their 10th anniversary and to mark the occasion the Swedish group will release the new collection, Reborn.

GUTTER INSTINCT To Release Debut Album In May; “Age Of The Fanatics” Track Streaming

Swedish death metal outfit Gutter Instinct will release their caustic, flesh-ripping debut full-length album, Age Of The Fanatics, to unsuspecting audiences worldwide on May 27th via Prosthetic Records. The album develops a further blackened edge to their already haunting death metal - as heard on their debut EP The Insurrection - by forging their way through the influential mire of death metal innovators including Teitanblood, Bölzer, Grave Miasma, Black Witchery and Portal whilst still reeking of their classic buzzsaw Swedish sound.

The album's title track, "Age Of The Fanatics", can be heard below.

Age Of The Fanatics is a study in cynical nihilism that lashes out against organized religion, corporate greed and political corruption leading to a hopeless state of depression and alienation, while closing the circle with a desire for isolation and total death worship, welcoming the apocalypse. In perfect correlation with Gutter Instinct's depraved musical theme, renowned artist Dávid Glomba, aka Teitan Arts (Cult Of Fire, Svartidauði, Inferno) aligned his harrowing aesthetic creating the artistic concept for the entire layout utilizing several large-scale illustrations.

Age Of The Fanatics will be available in a limited edition format with a total first pressing of 1,000 copies on CD and 300 copies on vinyl, including a four-page foldout featuring the detailed artwork. Pre-order's are now available directly via the Prosthetic Records web shop at this location.

GUS G. Feat. IMPELLITERI Singer ROB ROCK: Multi-Camera Footage Of Westland, Michigan Concert

GUS G. Feat. IMPELLITERI Singer ROB ROCK: Multi-Camera Footage Of Westland, Michigan Concert

Multi-camera video footage of Greek guitar virtuoso Gus G. — well known in rock and metal circles for his work as Ozzy Osbourne's guitarist and as leader of his own band FIREWIND — performing the song "Brand New Revolution" on April 16 at the Token Lounge in Westland, Michigan can be seen below (video filmed by George Pogacich, Michelle Kolbus and Rick Arnett).

Joining Gus on his current mini North American headlining tour are Jeramie Klinger (drums) and Taylor Nordberg (bass), both from THE ABSENCE, and Rob Rock of IMPELLITERI on vocals.

Said the guitarist: "Rob and I have been friends for many years; we toured Japan back in 2004 and have also co-written the title track of Rob's solo album, 'Garden Of Chaos', a few years ago. I couldn't be happier that we [are] finally [touring] together again."

Remaining tour dates:

April 19 - Clifton, NJ - DingbatzApril 20 - Ottawa, Canada - Brass MonkeyApril 21 - Toronto, Canada - The RockpileApril 22 - Long Branch, NJ - The Brighton BarApril 24 - Elmhurst, NY - Blackthorne 51

Gus's latest solo album, "Brand New Revolution", was released in Europe in July 2015 via Century Media. The CD was made available through Century Media in Australia and South America, Dismanic/eOne in North America and King Records in Japan. The cover artwork was once again created by Gustavo Sazes, who previously worked with Gus on the guitarist's debut album, "I Am The Fire", and also took care of artwork duties by such bands as ARCH ENEMY, KAMELOT and FIREWIND.

"Brand New Revolution" features guest vocal appearances by Jeff Scott Soto (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, JOURNEY, TALISMAN), Elize Ryd (AMARANTHE), Jacob Bunton (ADLER, LYNAM) and Mats Levén (CANDLEMASS, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, TREAT).

"Brand New Revolution" was recorded with Jay Ruston (STONE SOUR, ANTHRAX, STEEL PANTHER) and mixed by Mike Fraser (METALLICA, AC/DC, VAN HALEN, AEROSMITH). Just as on "I Am The Fire", the core of Gus's recording group consisted of Jo Nunez (FIREWIND) on drums and Marty O'Brien (LITA FORD) on bass.

In a recent interview with Guitar World magazine, Gus said that "Brand New Revolution" came together "almost like two EPs in one, because it was done in two sessions. The first session was done in L.A. with a band in a live room, with Jay Ruston engineering, and we caught that live energy and atmosphere and vibe. The other half, I came back to Greece and we did it the more traditional way for me, where the drummer lays down the tracks first and then I do the bass and the guitars. So it's half and half."

According to Gus, "Brand New Revolution" is, first and foremost, a collection of songs; in fact, other than the opening number, a dazzling display of technical ferocity called "The Quest", there are no instrumentals on the record. "That's really what I was going for," Gus told Guitar World. "I'm actually getting a lot of pressure right now to put out an instrumental album, but I'm not the kind of guy who can write 10 or 12 of those. It'd probably take me 10 years to do a record like that. I like to write songs — I'm a band guy and I like to work with singers. I'm very old school. I just like three-minute, catchy songs. But they have to have cool guitar parts — that's the difference. If you know how to write a great song and you can put a killer solo to it, to me, that's it."

AC/DC

AC/DC's BRIAN JOHNSON: 'I Had No Choice But To Stop Performing On Stage'

Longtime AC/DC singer Brian Johnson has issued a statement explaining his recent battle with hearing loss and clarifying the circumstances behind his inability to complete the legendary Australian group's current world tour.

AC/DC postponed the last ten dates of its recent North American tour after doctors told Johnson he faced "total hearing loss." At the time, the group promised they would make up the shows, "likely with a guest vocalist."

After all the rumors, speculation and sightings, it was confirmed last Saturday that GUNS N' ROSES frontman Axl Rose will be the singer in AC/DC for European dates in May and June.

The band released a statement that said in part: "AC/DC band members would like to thank Brian Johnson for his contributions and dedication to the band throughout the years. We wish him all the best with his hearing issues and future ventures.

"As much as we want this tour to end as it started, we understand, respect and support Brian's decision to stop touring and save his hearing. We are dedicated to fulfilling the remainder of our touring commitments to everyone that has supported us over the years, and are fortunate that Axl Ros has kindly offered his support to help us fulfill this commitment."

In his statement, Johnson stopped short of saying that he was out of the group permanently and expressed hope that continued medical treatment will allow his hearing to improve enough for him to return to performing live. He explained: "I cannot imagine going forward without being part of [AC/DC], but for now I have no choice."

Johnson's statement in full:

"As many AC/DC fans know, the remaining shows for the 2016 AC/DC 'Rock Or Bust' world tour, including 10 postponed U.S. shows, are being rescheduled with a guest singer. I want personally to explain the reason because I don't believe the earlier press releases sufficiently set out what I wanted to say to our fans or the way in which I thought it should be presented.

"On March 7th, after a series of examinations by leading physicians in the field of hearing loss, I was advised that if I continue to perform at large venues, I risked total deafness. While I was horrified at the reality of the news that day, I had for a time become aware that my partial hearing loss was beginning to interfere with my performance on stage. I was having difficulty hearing the guitars on stage and because I was not able to hear the other musicians clearly, I feared the quality of my performance could be compromised. In all honesty, this was something I could not in good conscience allow. Our fans deserve my performance to be at the highest level, and if for any reason I can't deliver that level of performance, I will not disappoint our fans or embarrass the other members of AC/DC. I am not a quitter and I like to finish what I start. Nevertheless, the doctors made it clear to me and my bandmates that I had no choice but to stop performing on stage for the remaining shows and possibly beyond. That was the darkest day of my professional life.

"Since that day, I have had several consultations with my doctors and it appears that, for the near future, I will be unable to perform on stage at arena- and stadium-size venues where the sound levels are beyond my current tolerance, without the risk of substantial hearing loss and possibly total deafness. Until that time, I tried as best as I could to continue despite the pain and hearing loss but it all became too much to bear and too much to risk.

"I am personally crushed by this development more than anyone could ever imagine. The emotional experience I feel now is worse than anything I have ever in my life felt before. Being part of AC/DC, making records and performing for the millions of devoted fans this past 36 years has been my life's work. I cannot imagine going forward without being part of that, but for now I have no choice. The one thing for certain is that I will always be with AC/DC at every show in spirit, if not in person. Most importantly, I feel terrible having to disappoint the fans who bought tickets for the canceled shows and who have steadfastly supported me and AC/DC these many years.

"Words cannot express my deep gratitude and heartfelt thanks not just for the recent outpouring to me personally of kind words and good wishes, but also for the years of loyal support of AC/DC. My thanks also go to Angus and Cliff for their support.

"Finally, I wish to assure our fans that I am not retiring. My doctors have told me that I can continue to record in studios and I intend to do that. For the moment, my entire focus is to continue medical treatment to improve my hearing. I am hoping that in time my hearing will improve and allow me to return to live concert performances. While the outcome is uncertain, my attitude is optimistic. Only time will tell.

"Once again, my sincere best wishes and thanks to everyone for their support and understanding.

"Love, Brian"

Sources close to AC/DC told The Sydney Morning Herald say the choice of Rose for the upcoming tour was "financially motivated."

Jesse Fink, the AC/DC biographer who wrote "The Youngs: The Brothers Who Built AC/DC", called the Rose recruitment "the worst decision AC/DC has ever made. Fans are pretty disgusted," Fink said.

"AC/DC is an institution, a way of life for a lot of people," he continued. "And a huge proportion of the AC/DC fan base loves Brian. They feel the band owed him a lot more than to go out the way he has and they want the truth, not an emotionless press release that makes it sound like he was made redundant from a motor plant.

"Would Malcolm [Young, now-retired AC/DC guitarist] have agreed to this? It leaves the question of who is making the decisions for AC/DC. Angus [Young, AC/DC guitarist]? George [Young, the older brother of Angus and Malcolm]? [Accountant] Alvin Handwerker? Sony?

"There seems to be a power vacuum since Mal retired from the band and whoever is making the decisions is, frankly, making pretty poor ones. This is the worst decision AC/DC has ever made."

GUNS N’ ROSES Bassist DUFF MCKAGAN Launches New Video Trailer For It's So Easy And Other Lies: Live At The Moore Documentary

GUNS N’ ROSES Bassist DUFF MCKAGAN Launches New Video Trailer For It's So Easy And Other Lies: Live At The Moore Documentary

Just weeks before Guns N' Roses mount a massive arena tour – with classic-lineup members Duff McKagan and Slash back in the fold – bassist McKagan is putting out a documentary about his life story. The film, It's So Easy And Other Lies: Live At The Moore, captures a special performance he held at a Seattle Theatre in 2013 when he was promoting his like-titled first memoir. It's due out this summer.

A trailer, which is premiering at RollingStone.com, shows a mix of animation, performance and talking-head commentary, beginning with the story of how the bassist left Seattle for Los Angeles and ultimately met his Guns N' Roses bandmates. Slash, Pearl Jam's Mike McCready and Mötley Crüe's Nikki Sixx all make appearances and lend commentary.

Guns N' Roses performed at the Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival on the April 16th. During their set, Guns N' Roses was joined by AC/DC guitarist Angus Young and performed the AC/DC classics "Whole Lotta Rosie" and "Riff Raff". Fan-filmed video is available below.

AC/DC will resume their Rock Or Bust World Tour with Axl Rose joining on vocals. The European stadium tour dates begin on May 7th in Lisbon, Portugal and run through June 12th in Aarhus, Denmark as previously announced (see below for full itinerary).  Following this European run of dates with AC/DC, Axl Rose will head out on his Guns N' Roses, 'Not In This Lifetime' Summer Stadium Tour.

"AC/DC band members would like to thank Brian Johnson for his contributions and dedication to the band throughout the years. We wish him all the best with his hearing issues and future ventures.  As much as we want this tour to end as it started, we understand, respect and support Brian's decision to stop touring and save his hearing. We are dedicated to fulfilling the remainder of our touring commitments to everyone that has supported us over the years, and are fortunate that Axl Rose has kindly offered his support to help us fulfill this commitment."

The 10 postponed US shows will be rescheduled and announced imminently, also with Axl Rose.

MYSTIFIER - Brazilian Black Metal Legends Ink Worldwide Deal With Hammerheart Records

MYSTIFIER - Brazilian Black Metal Legends Ink Worldwide Deal With Hammerheart Records

Last year Hammerheart Records reissued Wicca and Göetia by legendary Brazilian black metal masters, Mystifier. One of the bands from the Golden Era of Brazilian/South American black/death metal that should be mentioned along side Sarcofago, Blasphemy and Beherit, Mystifier have earned their place in the history of extreme metal and thousands of fanatics worldwide know this. Although they obviously always walked their own unholy path...

Hammerheart now announce phase two in their co-operation with Mystifier. During this year (fall) Mystifier will tour Europe as support to Inquisition and Rotting Christ and the label will reissue The World Is So Good... on digipack 2-CD and LP for this occasion and a live album. The future will also bring a full demo compilation and in 2017 a completely new album.

So all in all Mystifier and Hammerheart Records team up worldwide for the upcoming years and will contribute to make each other stronger and bigger. Like a pact made between the Devil and his accomplices.

BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE

BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE's MATT TUCK: 'We Don't Pay Too Much Attention To Reviews These Days'

In a brand new interview with Gigwise, vocalist/guitarist Matt Tuck of Welsh metallers BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE spoke about the intense reaction that the group's music receives from its fans and critics alike. He said: "When the band first started and we did our first couple of records, people's reviews and opinions would be the be-all and end-all of how we perceived things to be going. What we do now is see that if we're happy and can do these kind of massive tours with a band like KILLSWITCH [ENGAGE] supporting. How can you not be happy with that?"

He continued: "We don't pay too much attention to reviews these days, even the good ones. The fact that we can do what we do is enough.

"It doesn't really matter what people say. It's the connection you have with the listener and whether they love it or not. No matter who says what, good or bad, nothing else means anything. As a band, you do go through these moments of not connecting so much and then making it, but you just have to stay true to what you do and hope people feel the same way."

Asked what he thinks it is about BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE that fans can cling on to, Tuck said: "It just boils down to the fact that we've always stuck to our guns. When you connect with someone on your first record, that's special and there's nothing like it. The success we had with 'The Poison' and 'Scream, Aim, Fire' gave us that solid fan base and the leeway to do what we want."

He added: "People will always have their opinions about what's good and what's not, but ultimately when you're a fan of the band, it's like being a fan of a football team — you go through your ups and downs but you never stop loving them."

BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE recently signed a worldwide deal with Search And Destroy/Spinefarm Records. The band's latest album, "Venom", was released in August 2015 via RCA. The CD marked BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE 's first release since the departure of longtime bassist Jason James and addition of Jamie Mathias (formerly of REVOKER).

BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE drummer Michael "Moose" Thomas took a temporary leave of absence from the band earlier this year to spend time with his wife, as they awaited the birth of his first child. Filling in for him was Jason Bowld (PITCHSHIFTER, AXEWOUND).

Singer LIV KRISTINE On Being Replaced In LEAVES

Singer LIV KRISTINE On Being Replaced In LEAVES' EYES: 'I Can't Believe This Process Happened Behind My Back'

The remaining members of LEAVES' EYES and their former singer, Liv Kristine, have offered different accounts of the circumstances behind their split, with LEAVES' EYES claiming the decision to part ways was amicably made in January and Liv saying she was dismissed from the group less than two weeks ago.

LEAVES' EYES announced this past weekend that it had parted ways with Kristine and replaced her with Elina Siirala, a Finnish vocalist who lives in London, England. Siirala made her live debut with the band on Sunday, April 17 at the Hammersonic festival in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Earlier today, LEAVES' EYES released the following statement via the band's Facebook page:

"We are just back from a great weekend in Indonesia. Our first show with Elina went awesome! Despite a heavy tropical storm before the gig, 21,000 people showed up in front of the stage!

"We understand that many fans and friends are surprised and shocked about the change in our band. We all know Liv had an important role for the band in the past, and we understand people are sad as it was not an easy decision for every one involved. But since a lot of hateful and disrespectful comments are in the social media, we would like to take the opportunity to make some points very clear: LEAVES' EYES has always been a band, and not a project, nor a Liv Kristine solo project at all. We always worked as a team in LEAVES' EYES. In the last decade Tosso [guitarist Thorsten Bauer] and Alex [Krull, LEAVES' EYES' co-vocalist and Liv's husband] wrote the music for LEAVES' EYES and Liv took care of the lyrics.

"Liv's solo project is called 'Liv Kristine.' We supported Liv also in her solo career, writing music, recording and producing albums and doing management in the past.

"The decision to part ways with Liv was taken by all LEAVES' EYES members, including Liv. A mediator — a friend of Liv and Alex — was at the band meeting who can witness that the decision of parting ways was agreed by all members. Liv was happy to have the opportunity to plan changes in her future life and she does not have to go on tour so much anymore. The idea to go separated ways came up already in January. Elina was not part of this decision or process. It was also agreed to help Liv for her solo project 'Liv Kristine' and record her new demo songs and her further projects at the studio just like in the past.

"Please respect the privacy of Liv and Alex! Disrespectful postings and bashing is harming their family situation and their son Leon. Liv and Alex don't want to split fans — don't give false rumors, haters and bashers a chance!

"At the moment, we can't tell you more details as legal actions are in process.

"To our worldwide fans who are there for the music and not the gossip: LET THE MUSIC TALK!

"We are looking forward to present new material with Elina soon!

"Stay tuned for news of our upcoming video clip, music and tour updates."

Shortly after the LEAVES' EYES statement was posted, Liv took to her personal Facebook page to thank the fans and to clarify several points. She said: "Dear fans and friends, without you I wouldn't have the strength to continue with music. What you all have done for me with all your endless support and passion keeps me going on in these difficult times.

"Thank you for warning me concerning new postings by someone in LEAVES' EYES, done to harm me and make my situation even worse.

"I have nothing to hide, nothing to fear.

"I was told a bit longer than a week ago that I am not preferred as the band's singer for further tours and recordings anymore. I asked for the situation concerning Indonesia and the soon-to-happen up-coming shows. The answer was 'no.' I asked if there's a replacement and I got no clear answer.

"I can't believe this process happened behind my back, parallel to a huge disappointment in my private life.

"A few days later, there certainly was a replacement. I must say — that was 'quick'!

"I still see LEAVES' EYES as 'my baby' and I will miss playing these gigs, feeling the good vibes, sensing the real Norwegian Viking power with the audiences. Inside my heart I will always treasure LEAVES' EYES for all the good music, tunes, themes, concept and true Viking power. The melodies I used to sing will always stay alive in my ears.

"I can't wait to unveil good news for you soon. There will be good news coming from Norway!"

An earbook tour edition of LEAVES' EYES' latest album, "King Of Kings", will be released in June, including a new version and video for the song "Edge Of Steel", featuring Elina. There will also be a U.S. edition of "King Of Kings" with the new version of "Edge Of Steel" as a bonus track.

DAVE MUSTAINE:

DAVE MUSTAINE: 'There's A Terrible Lie Out There About Me And My Reputation, How Difficult I Am To Work With'

MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine was recently interviewed on "Elliot In The Morning", the morning radio talk show hosted by DJ Elliot Segal. You can listen to the chat in two parts below. A few excerpts follow (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).

On connecting musically with new MEGADETH drummer Chris Adler (also of LAMB OF GOD) in the early stage of the songwriting process for the band's new album, "Dystopia":

Dave: "It felt really natural to me. I didn't think anything of it. There's a certain rhythm that you have when you're really good at something that you do. It's kind of like, imagine when we were kids and we were playing catch for the first time. I mean, there's some of your friends that still, to this day, throw a ball like a dork, and there's other people that just… they just got it, and it looks totally fluid watching a person go back and forth. And that's kind of how it was with us; it was just absolutely fluid and natural. I think probably the most amazing thing was watching Chris's ideas when he first started sending stuff back to me, because I was working on stuff here and he had taken some of the stuff that I had that he didn't hear that I had worked on and put his ideas on it, and we kind of listened to both ideas at the same time, and it was the same kind of drum ideas. So it was great right from the start."

On whether he got the sense that Chris Adler was being a bit cautious with his opinions at first:

Dave: "I'm sure he was. You know, let's not kid ourselves. Unfortunately, there's a terrible lie out there about me and my reputation, how difficult I am to work with, and Chris will attest now, after working together, that it's B.S. But going into it, his whole outlook towards it was to just perform and do the absolute best job he could, and he didn't really want to write anything. He said he would help with the arranging and stuff, but that he wanted to just kind of let me do my thing and he wanted to hear 'his MEGADETH' again. So now, at this point, I think he's probably much more excited about contributing to the next record."

On whether he is bothered by his reputation as someone who is difficult to deal with:

Dave: "No, I don't care about it. I think it's kind of a bummer, though, sometimes when people, for the first time, come up to you. It's such a pregnant pause when people will go… they'll meet you and go, 'God, you know, I heard you were such an a-hole,' and you just kind of look at them, like, 'Uh-huh.' Again, it's like… This reminds me of when I was a kid and my first dance. I went up to a girl and I asked her to dance, and she said 'no,' and I walked away and I thought, 'Screw you! You don't know what you're missing.' And I figured I would commence to destroy her reputation in school. I'm kidding, of course, but that's kind of what we do when we get any kind of rejection; we make the other person out to be really horrible. Evidence of that was when I parted ways with METALLICA. Neither one of us really wanted to tell the absolute truth about what happened; we wanted to make the other party the bad guys. And I think that's what took so long for us to come to the truth that, 'Hey, we still really love each other a lot. And it was never meant to be, but that doesn't mean we can't be friends.'"

On how the relationship with other MEGADETH members was at times strained with some of the previous lineups:

Dave: "Like the part right before we parted ways with [drummer] Nick Menza. He would sleep on the bus until thirty minutes before the show. And he would say, 'Wake me up thirty minutes before the show and we'll go on.' And we were kind of going, 'How did it come to this?' And you don't really know. It's like that old saying, 'It's the dust that accumulates that makes mountains.' We didn't know how it happened; we just know that it happened. And everybody kind of went their own spiritual and emotional way, because everybody had their own ideas about what MEGADETH was. And I knew what it was not, and what it was not was what everybody else thought it was. It was what my idea was since the beginning."

On how the more positive feeling behind the scenes translates to a stronger live performance:

Dave: "I am feeling much better about what we're doing on stage and playing and stuff. It's really hard when you're playing with people… And I'm not trying to do any kind of sideways nonsense about anybody from the past, because if anybody has been difficult to play with, it's been me. But, you know, when you have some kind of a disagreement with somebody and you've gotta go out on stage and play with them, it's really hard to not let that come through. I mean, the perfect example: who would have ever thought that the guys from AEROSMITH would be knocking each other off stage? [Laughs] C'mon, dude! If it gets to that point where people are knocking me off stage, I quit. [Laughs]"

AC/DC

AC/DC

Sources close to AC/DC told The Sydney Morning Herald say the choice of Rose was "financially motivated."

AEROSMITH Guitarist JOE PERRY Recruits IGGY POP, DAVID JOHANSEN For New Solo Album

AEROSMITH Guitarist JOE PERRY Recruits IGGY POP, DAVID JOHANSEN For New Solo Album

In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry reveals that his upcoming solo album will feature guest vocals from rock legends Iggy Pop and David Johansen (New York Dolls).

The sessions for the upcoming release began as an instrumental solo record, but that changed course when a colleague of Perry’s suggested bringing in some vocalist friends. These tracks are the only songs he knows for sure will be on his solo album.

"One night, Iggy Pop stopped by the studio after he'd done a show here and listened to a couple of tunes," Perry says. "Within a couple hours, he had finished [recording] everything and that was really the turning point for the record. It was really, really good to go that way. And then Terry Reid sang on at least four songs, and David Johansen came in."

Working with the New York Dolls singer proved to be something special for Perry. "I hadn't had a chance to work with him since the Seventies, since we were spending a lot of time together," he says. "We've been friends for such a long time, but we've never really had a chance to get in the studio and get in a solid situation. We got three or four tunes."

Following their wildly successful concerts at the Roxy Theatre in Los Angeles, in front of 100,000 screaming fans at the Rock In Rio festival, and their spectacular worldwide television debut on the 2016 Grammy Awards reaching a global audience of almost 25 million people, fans worldwide demanded more. Hollywood Vampires - Alice Cooper, Joe Perry and Johnny Depp – always deliver and arranged their schedules to give their fans what they want.

Hollywood Vampires have announced a full summer tour across the US and Europe kicking off May 24th in Verona, New York.

Joining the Hollywood Vampires on tour will be their rock star musician friends and modern day Vampires Matt Sorum (Guns N' Roses/The Cult) on drums, Robert DeLeo (Stone Temple Pilots) on bass, Tommy Henriksen (Alice Cooper) on guitar, and Bruce Witkin (The Kids) on piano, percussion and guitar. For tickets, visit this location.

"Here is a gang of friends who came together really by chance and over the last year we were finally able to wrangle our schedules and the energy just fell into place. Playing with this line up is like a dream come true. After seeing the reaction at Rock in Rio in front of 100,000 fans, I know this band is going to tear the house down. Hell, I would want to be in the audience to see us rip it up." – Joe Perry

A super-group comprised of rock royalty and a Hollywood superstar, the Vampires will hit the stage offering fans a non-stop, energetic rock concert like no other, performing their new single "Bad As I Am" from their new deluxe album, as well as renditions of popular classics including "My Generation," "Whole Lotta Love," and a "School's Out"/"Another Brick in the Wall" medley.

Hollywood Vampires released a new digital deluxe version of their self-titled album. This expanded version includes three additional songs, including one original and two rocking covers. The deluxe version includes the scorching new single "Bad As I Am" an original song penned by Johnny Depp, Tommy Henriksen, and Bruce Witkin and features Matt Sorum, Alice Cooper, Joe Perry, and Johnny Depp. Also included is "I'm A Boy," a Who original, that was only available as a Japanese bonus track. "7 and 7 Is" is an unreleased track from the album sessions and is the classic song by the legendary Los Angeles band Love, a Vampires special pick and one that Alice covered on his 1981 solo album, Special Forces.

In 1969 on the Sunset Strip at a club called the Rainbow Bar & Grill, the Hollywood Vampires were born in the upstairs bar. It was a gathering place for the rock stars living in or passing through L.A. "To join the club, one simply had to out drink all of the members," says Alice Cooper, a founding member of the original Vampires.

Cooper and good friend Johnny Depp got together and decided the spirit of the Hollywood Vampires should live again (minus the drinking). Cooper and Depp were joined by Joe Perry, who is an old friend of both, and the recording began: a tribute to the original Hollywood Vampires. An environment was born for great artists to hang, laugh and play together.
