New Footage Surfaces Of VINCE NEIL Being Placed In Chokehold By NICOLAS CAGEA woman who was at the Las Vegas hotel where Vince Neil allegedly assaulted an autograph seeker earlier in the month has posted video footage of her encounter with the MÖTLEY CRÜE frontman.
A YouTube user who goes by the name "TYESUN" has uploaded two short clips that she says were filmed as Neil was exiting Aria hotel on April 7 with his friend, actor Nicolas Cage. The first video shows Cage on his way out of the hotel with a woman following him closely behind taking pictures. The woman then appears to be jerked back by someone before Neil can be heard and seen yelling for the woman to stop filming. Neil then points back at "TYESUN" before Cage turns around and lefts his hands up in apparent attempt to keep from being filmed.
The second clip, which shows Cage restraining Neil with a light chokehold outside the hotel, appears to have been shot right before the widely circulated TMZ video that captured the actor playing peacemaker after Neil was allegedly trying to fight another individual. The TMZ clip was reportedly filmed after Vince was held for an hour by security and police had already ticketed the singer for battery.
A Las Vegas police spokesperson confirmed to Reuters that Neil was under investigation after the alleged victim told police that the singer came up from behind and grabbed her by the hair.
Neil claimed he only "pushed past" the female autograph seeker, but officers concluded after reviewing a surveillance video that Vince did in fact pull the woman by her hair, according to TMZ.
Cameras also captured the woman taking pics with Carrot Top before she saw Nicolas Cage. She claims she said, "Nicolas, I love you" and followed Cage before being pulled down by Neil, who was having lunch with the comedian and the actor.
Neil was released at the scene, police said, and is scheduled to appear in court on June 17 for the alleged assault on the woman.
If convicted, Neil faces six months in prison stemming from the battery charges.
The singer's attorney, David Chesnoff, told the Daily News he is still investigating the incident.
"All I've seen is that there was an allegation of a simple misdemeanor battery," he said. "People shouldn't pre-judge things until all the facts are in."
Cage and Neil are longtime friends who were previously photographed together at the rocker's strip club back in 2012. 31

JUDAS PRIEST Back In The Studio: First Photos Posted OnlineNew photos of JUDAS PRIEST members Rob Halford (vocals), Glenn Tipton (guitar) and Richie Faulkner (guitar) in the studio working on material for the follow-up to the band's 2014 album "Redeemer Of Souls" can be seen below. The pictures, which were posted on PRIEST's Facebook page, were accompanied by the caption: "Making metal on #metalmonday!! @robhalfordlegacy @falconfaulkner #glenntipton #judaspriest #priestfamily"
Halford recently told Full Metal Jackie's nationally syndicated radio show about PRIEST's upcoming record: "We finished [the 'Redeemer Of Souls'] tour, this big world tour, just before the holidays in December, and we're about to start writing sessions pretty much now. And that's great. Oh, man, I can't wait to get into the writing zone again. That, to me, [is] one of the most thrilling moments for me personally in PRIEST. You go into a room with some amps, and turn the amps on, start riffing and boom, you could have another amazing PRIEST song by the end of the day. I love that part of being in PRIEST. So that's the next step — writing sessions, get some really good, solid PRIEST material ready, and then, you know, Scott [Travis, drums] and Ian [Hill, bass] come in and we jam and we start putting the songs together. Like always, it'll be ready when it's ready, but there was already an extraordinary amount of ideas collected throughout that tour. So I'm optimistic that we should have something ready by… probably not by the end of this year, but definitely by the early part of next year."
"Redeemer Of Souls" was released in July 2014. The follow-up to 2008's double-disc concept album "Nostradamus" was billed as a return to JUDAS PRIEST's heavy-metal roots.
"Redeemer Of Souls" sold around 32,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 6 on The Billboard 200 chart.
JUDAS PRIEST's new CD, DVD and Blu-ray, "Battle Cry", was released on March 25 via Epic Records. Recorded live on August 1, 2015 at Germany's Wacken Open Air festival in front of an audience of 85,000, the set is available on a 15-track CD, with the entire show on Blu-ray and DVD (running over 94 minutes), as well as digital audio and video formats. The DVD and Blu-ray also contain three bonus tracks shot in Poland on December 10, 2015 at The Ergo Arena, Gdansk, Poland. 7

OVERKILL Shoots Concert DVD In Oberhausen; Fan-Filmed Footage AvailableNew Jersey thrashers OVERKILL played a special anniversary show this past Saturday night (April 16) at Turbinenhalle 2 in Oberhausen, Germany. The evening saw the band perform their classic records "Horrorscope" (which is celebrating its 25th anniversary) and "Feel The Fire" (30th anniversary) in their entirety. And if that wasn't enough, the show was professionally filmed and recorded for an upcoming DVD and CD.
Fan-filmed video footage of the Oberhausen concert can be seen below.
OVERKILL is utilizing a stand-in drummer — their soundman Eddy Garcia, who is also a member of the El Paso, Texas band PISSING RAZORS — for their current European tour because the band's regular drummer, Ron Lipnicki, was forced to stay home due to undisclosed family issues.
Garcia previously played with OVERKILL for their appearance on the 2012 edition of the 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise.
OVERKILL frontman Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth told Metaleater about the Oberhausen concert: "We're gonna come out, we're gonna do 'Horrorscope', and then we're gonna take fifteen minutes to realize how old we are and talk about whether we can actually do the second half of the show. [Laughs] We're gonna start downing Red Bulls and vodka, and then shoot back out to the stage after a ten- or fifteen-minute interlude where we're gonna have some videos playing of the band while they recorded the 'Horrorscope' record, and then go out and do 'Feel The Fire' in its entirety. So it's quite a unique night. And we're not doing it the entire tour; we're doing it at one show. So we thought it was kind of unique to do that."
Regarding how the idea to perform the two albums in their entirety came about, Ellsworth said: "It was something that we came up as an idea with the record company, Nuclear [Blast], and they were all over it. They said, 'Wow, what a great idea! It's not an entire tour. It's one night. It makes it special. Let's film it.' And we were, like, 'That's exactly what we wanted to hear from you guys.' So that's where we are with this."
OVERKILL has demoed at least eleven new songs for the band's upcoming follow-up to 2014's "White Devil Armory", tentatively due in October via Nuclear Blast. Blitz said that the fact that OVERKILL is touring while finalizing the songs for its upcoming album is beneficial when it comes to capturing the explosive nature of the band's performances in the studio environment. He said: "For me, it's kind of cool to go out and be doing live shows as the record is taking form, because it translates into the writing. You know, when you're doing shows and then you're finishing shows off — my end of the songs, which are the melodies and the lyrics — I can kind of infuse that natural energy into it, if I was just most recently on stage. It's not feigned then; it's my last memory of the band, and I really try to live in the present and the near past."

STRATOVARIUS: Official Lyric Video For New Song 'Until The End Of Days'The official lyric video for "Until The End Of Days", a brand new song from Finnish melodic metallers STRATOVARIUS, can be seen below. The track is taken from STRATOVARIUS's "Best Of" collection, which will be released on May 6 via earMUSIC.
"Until The End Of Days" features the current STRATOVARIUS lineup consisting of Timo Kotipelto, Jens Johansson, Mattias Kupainen, Lauri Porra and Rolf Pilve.
STRATOVARIUS is one of the most influential, successful and enduring power metal bands in the world; one of the top names thanks to their distinguished mix of fast progressive metal and a melodic approach to melodies.
What started in 1985 under the name BLACK WATER and left a trail of 16 studio albums and ten Top 5 chart positions in their native country Finland (and more than 40 top chart positions all around the globe), found — after a few bumpy steps and stones in the band's lineup — its peak in STRATOVARIUS's recent studio works "Elysium", "Nemesis" and "Eternal" — all milestones in sound, creativity and songwriting.
It happens rarely nowadays, especially in metal, that a band creates one magic song after the other. STRATOVARIUS is one of the few exceptions. 29 of those exceptions (and there could have been more!) can be found on "Best Of".
The "Best Of" is going to be released as 2CD standard edition, digital and as 3CD limited edition in a high-quality packaging, including the exclusive 60-minute bonus CD "Live At Wacken 2015". Both editions include liner notes written by exceptional keyboardist Jens Johansson as well as rare picture material from the band's private archive.
All hand-picked by the band and adding up to two and a half hours of pure STRATOVARIUS bliss, the songs give metal fans and those to be a great selection on the band's impressive work, including classics such as "Black Diamond", "Hunting High And Low" and "Speed Of Light" as well as more recent material such as the most streamed song in the band's history "Unbreakable" and "Shine In The Dark" from their recent studio album "Eternal".
All songs have been remastered by the band's longtime companion Mika Jussila of Finnvox Studios.
Jens Johansson explains: "It's been twenty years since the 'Episode' album, we're all getting older but this stuff sounds as fresh as ever. Could it be that STRATOVARIUS has discovered the fountain of Eternal Youth!? You may feel younger, but we can't actually (legally) promise you'll be younger after listening to this best-of album, but we can guarantee one thing: when you put it through your speakers, it will play 'Until the End of Days'!! To me, it's a testament to the fact that paying attention to songwriting and production was expensive, but so worth it. The songs, the sound and the performances really have stood the test of time." Timo Kotipelto adds: "Wow! 20 years in STRATOVARIUS have passed at the speed of light! I still remember when I joined the band and was happy to do some power metal. And I am very happy to still be able to do it after all these years! This collection of songs is an excellent selections and a cool way to remember the history of the band from the past to the present! I hope you will enjoy it as much as we did while selecting the songs. Rock the metal!"
The whole STRATOVARIUS catalogue will be re-released throughout 2016 and 2017, including extensive booklets and a lot of bonus material. "Best Of" track listing:

UDO DIRKSCHNEIDER: Pro-Shot 'Midnight Mover' Performance Clip From LudwigsburgNeon Sunsets has uploaded professionally filmed video footage of DIRKSCHNEIDER, the band fronted by former ACCEPT and current U.D.O. singer Udo Dirkschneider performing the ACCEPT classic "Midnight Mover" on March 13 at Rockfabrik in Ludwigsburg, Germany. Check it out below.
Asked about his decision to perform classic songs from ACCEPT for the last time in 2016 under the DIRKSCHNEIDER banner, Udo told rock journalist Mitch Lafon: "A lot of people ask me, 'Why do you do this?' And I said… Always people are asking, 'Oh, can you play this ACCEPT song and this ACCEPT song and this ACCEPT song?' I mean, I have fifteen U.D.O. albums out, and, for me now, U.D.O. is U.D.O. Of course, I know that the people like to hear ACCEPT songs with my voice, but I wanna close something — I wanna close, like a book, and say, 'Okay, that's it. I read it.' Sometimes you have to come to an end with something. I wanna close up everything with ACCEPT. And this will be the last time. And I said, okay, I'll do one more tour. It will be a world tour. Hopefully we can do this also for America, around maybe a couple of shows. And yeah, that will be the last time that you… When we are on tour with U.D.O., we'll never play any ACCEPT songs again."
He continued: "I also wanna stop to be compared with… Now ACCEPT is still on tour, and they have a new singer, and they are doing also 'Balls To The Wall' and they are doing also 'Metal Heart', they do 'Princess Of The Dawn'. And I don't wanna be always compared and have to say, 'What do you think about this and this and this?' This is also another reason. I wanna close the ACCEPT chapter. I mean, it was a great… I mean, in a way, I was creating this band, you know. Sometimes you have to say, 'Okay, that's it.' I have enough U.D.O. songs, so I can play more U.D.O. songs and be U.D.O. I can say without being arrogant, U.D.O. has its own fan base now. Sometimes you have to say, 'Okay, that's it.'"
To those fans that still want to experience the classic ACCEPT songs performed live, Udo has this message: "There is a band called ACCEPT. And please, if you wanna hear these songs, please go then to [see] ACCEPT. [Laughs] So that's the only thing I can say. Now you'll have the chance [this] year to hear it with the original voice, but Mark [Tornillo, current ACCEPT singer] is doing a — I would say — really good job on it, so please go there and listen then to ACCEPT and U.D.O. is then U.D.O."
Regarding what makes the classic ACCEPT songs so special, Udo said: "I don't know what is special. You never can tell it, really. Like [DEEP PURPLE's] 'Smoke On The Water', in a way, something like this. Sometimes there's a song that, in a way, that stays forever."
The April 2 DIRKSCHNEIDER concert at Kaminwerk in Memmingen, Germany was professionally filmed and recorded for a DVD and CD release later this year.
DIRKSCHNEIDER is:

DEATH ANGEL: Third 'The Evil Divide' Album TrailerSan Francisco Bay Area metallers DEATH ANGEL will release their new album, "The Evil Divide", on May 27. The CD was once again recorded at AudioHammer studios in Sanford, Florida with producer Jason Suecof (TRIVIUM, DEICIDE), who previously worked on 2010's "Relentless Retribution" and 2013's "The Dream Calls For Blood". Mastering duties were handled by Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound in New York City. The cover artwork was created by tattoo artist Bob Tyrrell and can be seen below.
The third trailer for "The Evil Divide", featuring behind-the-scenes footage from the making of the CD, can be seen below.
DEATH ANGEL guitarist Rob Cavestany said: "Both Mark [Osegueda, vocals] and I had been tattooed by Bob, and when the subject of album artwork came up, we approached him to create the design. We wanted an image that would represent the idea of 'The Evil Divide'; something beautiful, yet simultaneously wicked, hence the death moth. Bob realized our vision with mere pencil and paper, and now we proudly present to you the cover art for our eighth studio album, 'The Evil Divide'."
Osegueda told SFWeekly.com about working with Suecof again: "It's the third time we've used him, and we couldn't really be happier."
He continued: "This time, all the music was written and lyrics were written with the exception of one song, which I purposely saved to write on the spot.
"Sometimes you can get a great vibe from a studio and draw inspiration from that. That song came out great."
Mark added: "It's got the aggressiveness of the last two records, but our songwriting has improved dramatically. Really, it sounds like DEATH ANGEL should."
Regarding DEATH ANGEL's mindset going into the songwriting process for the new CD, Osegueda told Rock Hard magazine: "When we started working with Jason Suecof for the last two records, 'Relentless Retribution' and 'The Dream Calls For Blood', we thought we were gonna do two records intense like that and kind of go back [to the more] melodic [direction of 1990's] 'Act III', but the last two records, we've been loving so much writing that style, and the crowds have been enjoying them so much.
"In our minds, even if we think we're being more brutal than we've ever been, it's inevitable that we are obsessed with melody, so there's always gonna be melody that separates us from, say, different thrash bands or extreme bands, because we always veer to a melody and catchy hooks. No matter how brutal we think we're being, we like to throw in hooks, so we're just gonna carry on how we're doing now and try to pick as many of the young punters there and keep our stronghold on the old punters."
"The Evil Divide" track listing:
01. The Moth02. Cause For Alarm03. Lost04. Father Of Lies05. Hell To Pay06. It Can’t Be This07. Hatred United, United Hate08. Breakaway09. The Electric Cell10. Let The Pieces Fall
Bonus:
11. Wasteland
+ "Making Of" DVD
DEATH ANGEL released "A Thrashumentary" in July 2015 via Nuclear Blast. The DVD was directed, shot and edited by Tommy Jones (KATAKLYSM, SOILWORK, LAMB OF GOD, CARCASS, TESTAMENT) of Videohammer Studios. The release also includes a full live album titled "The Bay Calls For Blood". 3

DAN REED NETWORK Releases 'Divided' VideoThe official music video for the song "Divided" from DAN REED NETWORK can be seen below. The track istaken from the band's new album, "Fight Another Day", which will be released on June 3 via Frontiers Music Srl. "Fight Another Day" marks the return of one of the most infectious and gifted bands to come out in the melodic rock world in the second part of the '80s. The new album was recorded primarily in the hometown of members of DAN REED NETWORK, Portland, Oregon, while most of the writing process took place in Dan Reed's private studio in Prague in the Czech Republic, where Reed currently resides with his family. Demos were sent back and forth between Derek Shulman (A&R for Frontiers), Brion James, Melvin Brannon Jr. and Rob Daiker, making notes and refining the songs over great distances via the Internet. This process was not unlike the way DAN REED NETWORK composed songs back in the late '80s and early '90s as Dan Reed used to demo out songs on his Akai 12-track machine and bring the songs into rehearsals where the band members would then arrange and flesh out the band's classic "funk rock" sound. After the tracking was completed, keyboardist Rob Daiker went to work editing and mixing each track alongside Shulman and Reed, sending mixes back and forth, making notes and shaping and moulding the album to best represent what DAN REED NETWORK sounds like currently, while paying respect to what brought the band to the world's attention back in the late '80s. "I thought it would be a great experiment and interesting challenge to revisit what endeared the band to so many back in the day and deliver a rock record with funk and soul elements, strong melodies, but this time around incorporate even edgier lyrics while not losing sight that this release needed to be uplifting, infectious, and most of all, powerful when performed live," says Dan Reed.
"The title 'Fight Another Day' represents the fact that after 25 years we were able to gravitate back to the passion we discovered playing together all those years ago, and battle once more!" The band looks forward to the world's response to this new labor of love, and this testament to the bonds of friendship and musical chemistry. Worlwide touring over the next twelve months will support the album release. An EPK (Electronic Press Kit) for the album is available below.

IRON MAIDEN's BRUCE DICKINSON Talks About Security Concerns In Age Of TerrorismIRON MAIDEN singer Bruce Dickinson spent a couple of days of December 2015 in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This was his second visit to the city after 21 years. The first time he was there, Sarajevo was under the siege, cut off from the world, its citizens brutally terrorized by shooting, bombing and starvation with electricity and water supply being nothing short of a luxury. Bruce and his then-solo band drove through the frontlines and ultimately played a show for the people trapped in the city. What this gig meant to the people and how it changed Bruce and his band will be told in the documentary film "Scream For Me Sarajevo", which recently finished shooting. The film, written by Jasenko Pasic, is being produced by Prime Time Productions.
Radio Sarajevo show "The Aebyss" had the immense pleasure and honor to welcome Bruce in its studio, where they talked about the upcoming film, his impressions of the city today and, of course, the IRON MAIDEN tour in support of the band new album, "The Book Of Souls". You can now listen to the full interview below.
Speaking about what security concerns he might have in an age of terrorism when it comes to deciding which countries to travel to in order to play for the people there, Dickinson said: "Personally, yeah, I'll play no matter what. Your concern has to be, actually, for people who don't have a choice in the matter. I mean, it was my choice [in 1994] — actually our choice, collectively, 'cause we all, collectively, said, 'Yeah, we're all crazy enough to try and do this thing and drive into Sarajevo in the middle of a war and see if we can do and do a gig. And [laughs] we're not quite sure when we're gonna come back.' But those poor people that went for that [EAGLES OF DEATH METAL] concert at the Bataclan [in Paris, France] had no choice; they were completely, completely innocent in every possible way. And, of course, nobody knew that the place was gonna get targeted. So, unfortunately, there's a judgment call that people have gotta make, and you have to make it on the best information available — as to whether or not you're suddenly gonna get… If somebody says, 'We're gonna massacre everybody at a rock concert,' you say, 'Well, is it some lunatic, or is it genuinely credible that this might happen?'"
He continued: "You can't take the responsibility for what might be some lunacy, massacring people, just because you wanna be kind of 'macho man' and stand up and say, 'Ah, yeah, yeah, yeah, we did this and people threatened us, but we were like macho men.' And that's great until one day it turns out that somebody does go and do [something like that] and then you have lots and lots of dead women and children, and you go, 'Maybe we shouldn't have done the show, because there was a credible threat.' So, unfortunately, you've gotta be grown up about it. But, at the same time, you still need to be able to offer people that hope and send that message out there. They can't stop… Real life just carries on. I mean, when the Irish Republican Army, years and years ago… when I was a kid, things were getting blown up left, right and center in the U.K., and one lot was blowing things up and horrendous things happened, and nothing stopped — people just got on with it and carried on. You don't stop. You don't back down from living your life. And that was the message in Sarajevo — that in all the craziness, this little bastion of rock and roll and kind of normality happened, for five minutes, in the middle of it. You know, yeah, you know what? There is light at the end of the tunnel there. So all those kinds of things are acts of defiance, but not involving guns or bombs or bullets and things like that."
"The Book Of Souls" was released on September 4, 2015 through BMG in the USA (Parlophone Records in the rest of world).
IRON MAIDEN announced in May 2015 that touring plans to support the album wouldn't happen until 2016 to allow Dickinson time to fully recuperate after his successful cancer treatment. 9

SLIPKNOT's COREY TAYLOR Slams Mainstream Media: 'Editorials Are Being Treated Like Fact'On the next episode of his "A Series Of Bleeps" radio show on Apple Music's Beats 1, SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor sounds off on the polarizing political climate in America as our country gets ready to elect a new leader. "Let me tell you what I believe…" is how he starts several talk breaks going from how the media spins stories for more views and not actual information to what he thinks ought to be everyone's right in this country. Helping to illustrate his opinions, he plays tracks from METALLICA, MEGADETH and RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE to highlight this political-leaning show.
Taylor says (hear audio clip below): "Fundamentally, the federal government is a little more shrouded, because there's so much red tape that you have to get through, to wade through before you can find out what the hell is going on. And that's the rub, that's the dichotomy. As open and as bountiful as information is in 2016, between the social media and the Internet, we really don't know what the fuck's going on, do we? We really have no idea. Because everyone's got a story. Whether it's Fox News or MSNBC, nobody has the straight shit, because editorials are being treated like fact. And that's the problem. There has to be a straight line that people can come back to. Because editorials are treated as mantra and treated as fact, now you have this weird thing where both sides of the political coin have their own group of experts, quote-unquote, who will take information and twist it to their benefit, no matter what it is. There is no base, there is no touchstone to come back to, to look at things in a pragmatic manner. So because of that, there's no way to keep people honest. There's no culpability."
The seventh episode of "A Series Of Bleeps" is scheduled to air on Wednesday, April 13 at 7:00 p.m. PDT, with an encore airing on Thursday, April 14 at 6:00 a.m.
For more information, visit www.apple.com/music/radio.
Taylor told U.K.'s Metal Hammer magazine that he has started to "do some pre-work" on his next book called "America 51". The book, whose title is a play on Area 51, the most famous military institution in the world that doesn't officially exist, will deal with "just how batshit crazy my country is right now, in good ways and in bad ways," he said.
The singer published his third book, "You're Making Me Hate You: A Cantankerous Look At The Common Misconception That Humans Have Any Common Sense Left", last July.
The book acts as a commentary on society and pop culture said to be in the style of the late George Carlin.
Taylor promoted the book with a combination of bookstore events and a solo tour which were one-of-a-kind shows featuring readings from the book, acoustic performance, and audience discussion. 8

GUNS N' ROSES: Video Highlights Of First COACHELLA ConcertVideo highlights of GUNS N' ROSES' April 16 performance at the Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival in Indio, California can be seen below.
For this, GN'R fourth and biggest appearance since the reunion of singer Axl Rose, guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan, Rose was still confined to a throne after snapping his metatarsal bone while singing during the Troubadour reunion show on April 1. It is apparently the same custom throne Dave Grohl used last year for FOO FIGHTERS concerts after breaking a leg.
A sell-out audience of 100,000 saw GN'R's first Coachella performance, which lasted nearly two and a half hours and included "nurses," three go-go dancers, choreographed pyro bombs and a graphic display. The included a mix of GN'R songs from every era, from ballads like "November Rain" to "Chinese Democracy" nuggets like "Better" and the album's title track.
Coachella's biggest reaction of the weekend reportedly went to Angus Young of AC/DC who joined GN'R for fiery renditions of his band's classic Bon Scott-era songs "Whole Lotta Rosie" and "Riff Raff". The pairing came just a couple of hours after it was officially announced that Axl would front AC/DC on a 12-city European tour starting in early May.
Only Rose, Slash and McKagan from GN'R's "Appetite For Destruction"-era lineup took part in the four shows the band has played this month. They were joined by keyboardist Dizzy Reed, guitarist Richard Fortus and drummer Frank Ferrer. Also appearing with them was second keyboardist Melissa Reese.
GUNS N' ROSES is scheduled to play one more show at Coachella next weekend and two gigs in Mexico City later this week. A full North American tour is on tap for this summer.
GUNS N' ROSES is getting a reported $8 million for its two appearances at Coachella and an average of $2.75 million per show on the tour.
By comparison, Rose's most recent pre-reunion lineup of GUNS N' ROSES was getting somewhere between $350,000 and $500,000 per show, according to Billboard's industry sources.
GUNS N' ROSES has sold 44.5 million albums in the United States, according to the RIAA (Recording Industry Association Of America). 3

EUCHARIST Feat. ARCH ENEMY's DANIEL ERLANDSSON: Video Of First Performance In 18 YearsCult Swedish melodic death metal band EUCHARIST — which features in its ranks current ARCH ENEMY drummer Daniel Erlandsson — reunited for a headlining performance at the Metal Reunion PTD3 festival on April 16 at Bruket in Varberg, Sweden. The concert marked EUCHARIST's long-awaited return to the stage and thier first live appearance in 18 years.
Fan-filmed video footage of the gig can be seen below.
EUCHARIST's lineup for the show consisted of the following musicians:
Markus Johnsson - Guitar, VocalsDaniel Erlandsson - DrumsTobias Bernström - BassMatti Almsenius – Guitar
Asked about the possibility of EUCHARIST releasing new music, Erlandsson told The Monolith: "If we are to release new music or not, it's only gonna happen if the new material is up to par. At this moment it might be too early to say. We have kind of said between us, 'Let's see how the first show feels and take it from there.' I could imagine making some new music would be cool too, so let's see what the future will bring."
EUCHARIST's first album, "A Velvet Creation" (1993), featured Markus Johnsson (vocals, guitar), Thomas Einarsson (guitar), Tobias Gustafsson (bass), and Daniel Erlandsson (drums), while for the second, "Mirrorworlds" (1997), they were reduced to the trio of Johnsson, Erlandsson and bassist Martin Karlsson.
One of numerous groups involved in establishing the very melodic style now known as the "Gothenburg sound," EUCHARIST did not fare particularly well in the face of the era's stiff competition, resulting in personnel eventually joining rival bands. Most notably, original bass guitarist Gustaffsson joined the power metal band ARMAGEDDON, and drummer Erlandsson worked for a time with Gothenburg scene leaders IN FLAMES before settling in permanently with ARCH ENEMY.
EUCHARIST was founded in Veddige, a small city about 40 kilometers from Gothenburg, sometime around 1989. A demo released in 1992, titled "Greeting Immortality", became a classic in the metal underground. The same year, Obscure Plasma Records released the "Greeting Immortality" seven-inch single and in 1993 the band recorded a song named "The View" for a Deaf Records (a Peaceville imprint) compilation album called "Deaf Metal Sampler". Afterwards, the band suddenly split up for a short time before being asked by Wrong Again Records to reunite and sign a deal, which they did.
EUCHARIST entered the studio and recorded their first album, "A Velvet Creation", which was released in 1993, with the cover misprinted in the wrong color. In the summer of 1994, two songs, "Wounded and Alone" and "The Predictable End", were recorded for a compilation album, "W.A.R. Compilation Vol. 1", released in 1995 by Wrong Again. EUCHARIST split up again and some members started playing in other bands. Erlandsson, for example, played drums on two tracks on the IN FLAMES EP "Subterranean". In 1996, Johnsson and Erlandsson started working with EUCHARIST again and they were instantly offered a deal by WAR Music (a new label formed out of the ashes of Wrong Again Records). The resulting album, "Mirrorworlds", came out in 1997. But again, after a short tour in early 1998, EUCHARIST split up.
In 2001, "A Velvet Creation" was re-released on Regain Records on both CD and vinyl, this time remastered and with the two songs from the "W.A.R. Compilation" session as bonus tracks. The cover was also printed in the correct color, but this time Markus Johnsson's name was misprinted as Marcus Johansson.
Metal Reunion PTD3 alsos featured reunion performances from seven other Swedish bands: ABLAZE MY SORROW, THE ANCIENTS REBIRTH, REVENGIA, PARAZITE, FATAL EMBRACE, CROMLECH and ETERNAL LIES.

MAX CAVALERA: 'We Don't Really Count On CD Sales Anymore'From Hero To Zero recently conducted an interview with Max Cavalera (SOULFLY, SEPULTURA, CAVALERA CONSPIRACY). You can now watch the chat below. A couple of excerpts follow (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).
On diminishing record sales and the explosive growth in music streaming:
Max: "I think it hurts everybody; it hurts all the bands, and we are not the only ones. You have to learn to live with it; there's nothing really you can do. For us, it's a matter of… We don't really count on CD sales anymore. The days of CD sales were, like, 'Soulfly' one, 'Primitive' and [SEPULTURA's] 'Roots', where they went gold in America and sold five hundred thousand copies; that doesn't happen anymore. Yeah, you know, it's sad that it doesn't happen anymore, but at the same time, there's good and bad about technology. I like the fact that you can discover new bands… I discovered a lot of bands, like NAILS and stuff like that, through the Internet. So I think there's good and bad. But I think sometimes the fans have gotta realize that when they are getting the free music… not necessarily they are really… Maybe at first it's good for them, but maybe in the end, they're kind of hurting the artists, and that's something that maybe they should think about a little bit. I don't know… If I like a band, I buy their CD because I wanna support them; I buy their t-shirt, because I like to see that band continue. So it's my way of helping. So maybe the fans should think more a little bit like that. But I see the other side too. You don't make much money and you can get the music for free, and why not? It's kind of like… It's out there. So, like I said, you cannot really fight that, so we just find different ways to survive, so we tour a lot. And I have three different projects: SOULFLY, CAVALERA CONSPIRACY and KILLER BE KILLED. I'm looking forward to a fourth; I think I might make more and more projects. [Laughs] So, yeah, it keeps you busy and it makes you survive."
On whether albums still matter in an age when fans are more focused on acquiring single tracks rather than full-length records:
Max: "I hope so, because it's fun to make a record. That's where the idea of the art comes in. When you [are making music], you envision a whole record; you don't envision a song — although you write the song separate. I can see maybe why people would like just to get a song instead of a whole record, but I like the whole vision of the whole package, like the whole record. I love listening to records from beginning to the end. The other day I just listened to MASTODON 'Crack The Skye'; it's fantastic. And BEHEMOTH 'The Satanist'; amazing, amazing… It's so good altogether. It wouldn't be good one song only; if I only heard one song from that record. It's cool to hear the whole thing."
On his plans for a home recording studio:
Max: "I have a studio that I'm building in my house in Phoenix [Arizona] to record young bands, so I'm gonna start producing a lot more bands myself. And it's a desert studio, so it's got a desert vibe. So if people want a desert-vibe kind of metal, come to the Max place. [Laughs] I'm looking for the name [for the studio]. I'll find one. We're trying to mix both [digital and analog technology], because we have a lot of old gear, and I think that's kind of cool. The cabinets that we [used to] record [SEPULTURA's] 'Chaos A.D.' and 'Roots' [albums] are all there. We're trying to get the board that we recorded 'Roots' on, we're trying to buy that right now; hopefully we can. I'm doing that with my soundman, [who] is on tour right now with SOULFLY. His name is Mark. He's helping me. And he's gonna put a lot of the gear in. A lot of the other gear… I've got percussion from all over the world, so that's also another big thing. I think it's gonna be a cool place, and I think, for me, it's cool 'cause it's gonna keep me closer to the underground metal — the young metal being done right now by the new generation. New bands, they get to come there and record, and I think it's gonna be a real cool place with… A lot of good stuff's gonna be done there. But it [won't be ready before] probably next year." 7

AC/DC's BRIAN JOHNSON Guests On JIM BREUER AND THE LOUD & ROWDY Album 'Songs From The Garage'Accomplished comedian Jim Breuer understands that comedy and heavy music have long made for great bedfellows. On his first musical full-length, "Songs From The Garage", Breuer delivers both in his inimitable style with longtime backing band THE LOUD & ROWDY. Due on May 27 via Metal Blade, the CD was produced by VOLBEAT/ex-ANTHRAX guitarist Rob Caggiano and features Brian Johnson (AC/DC) on two tracks.
Breuer says: "Going into the record, the music had to be killer and have great hooks — that was most important — and I wanted to balance that with something that's funny. I wanted to bring the smile back to hard rock that has a nice punch to it." From crunchy opening romp "Thrash" through the swaggering "Who's Better Than Us?!" to the gloriously deranged excitement suffusing "Sugar Rush", his exuberance is infectious, and he challenges you to keep your ass from shaking and the corners of your mouth twitching while it thunders from the speakers.
Backing Breuer up is THE LOUD & ROWDY with Mike Tichy on drums, Joe Vigliotti on bass, and Metal Mike on guitar. Initially known as the JIM BREUER BAND, without even having a record under their belt, it did not take long to turn a lot of heads. After finding themselves on massive festival stages, the band headed into three different studios to record — Metrosonic Studios Brooklyn, Clear Track Studios and Sonic Debris Recording Studio. With Caggiano on production and guitar duties, the album was filled with eleven musically badass tracks featuring lyrics that are not only funny but also relatable, reflecting Breuer's position in life: "A dad with three kids who loves family life yet is still a metalhead at heart."
The inspiration for all of this comes from Breuer's adolescent immersion in the world of heavy music, falling in love with JUDAS PRIEST and AC/DC, alongside the likes of SCORPIONS, OZZY OSBOURNE, METALLICA and VAN HALEN. The fire to start a band was soon lit under him, though he wouldn't begin his musical career until he was older. Having finally made the album that has been burning to get out of him since his teens, Breuer couldn't be happier with the result. Though he has fulfilled one rock and roll dream with its completion, it certainly does not mean he's about to kick back and leave it at that.
"I plan on making great, funny videos for every song and have videos up during the concerts," he says. "I want pure entertainment when you come see this live, and now my rock and roll dream is to play this not only here in America, but anywhere else in the world that will accept it! I'm taking it one day at a time, living the dream."
"Songs From The Garage" track listing:
