FATE'S RIGHT BAND Featuring NOCTURNAL RITES' Jonny Lindqvist Releases Knucklebuster Hits EP

FATE'S RIGHT BAND Featuring NOCTURNAL RITES' Jonny Lindqvist Releases Knucklebuster Hits EP

Umeå, Sweden-based act Fate's Right Band, featuring Nocturnal Rites' Jonny Lindqvist has released Knucklebuster Hits, an EP containing four songs with the intention to hit you like a punch in the face.

The EP consists of four melodic hard rock songs with great variation, influenced by the 70-80s rock history. The songs are available (only digital at the moment) at iTunes, Spotify,  Google Play, Amazon.com, Xbox Music, and other digital services. The EP was recorded at Enhanced Studios in Umeå, Sweden, with Ronnie Björnström behind the levers.

"It has been a really fun and creative process producing these songs, and everybody in the band has contributed to the final result", says Jari Aalto, who plays rhythm guitar and write the lyrics. "We get along very well – a really Fate;s Right Band! And we hope that everyone that listens to the songs can hear how fun we had when we recorded them."

Fate's Right Band was founded in the beginning of 2013 by the brothers Jari and Marko Aalto together with Jonas Andersson. Jonny Lindqvist and Jens Mann joined the band during spring 2013.

The band is planning to go into the studio again during spring/summer 2015 and record four new songs that will be released summer/autumn 2015. At the same time they are working with more new songs. The ambition is NOT to release a whole album, instead they are planning to drop a couple of songs at a time.

HINDER Announces Another New Singer

HINDER Announces Another New Singer

Oklahoma City rockers HINDER have recruited Marshal Dutton as their new lead singer following the departure of Nolan Neal.

Commented the band in a statement: "We are proud to introduce our newest member of HINDER, vocalist Marshal Dutton.

"As our loyal and beloved fans know, we have been searching to find the perfect fit for two years now and recently came to realize that it was right under our nose the entire time.

"Marshal has been a part of the HINDER family since 2009, when he began co-writing/producing on the 'All American Nightmare' album. He has been a co-producer on every HINDER release since, and truly loves this band as we do. We have been the best of friends for many years and we couldn't be more excited for the future!"

Dutton previously sang for HINDER on some tour dates during vocalist Austin Winkler's hiatus from the band in 2012.

HINDER will release its new full-length album, "When The Smoke Clears", on March 3 via The End Records/ADA.

"This is the album HINDER fans have been waiting for and they won't be disappointed," said drummer Cody Hanson. "We spent a year writing this and we couldn’t be more excited for the world to hear it."

Combining raw riffs with big hooks and vocal harmonies, HINDER takes its cues from rock legends such as AEROSMITH, AC/DC, KISS and GUNS N' ROSES, and update them with modern guitar sounds.

HINDER parted ways with singer Austin Winkler in November 2013. Winkler left the lineup during a tour earlier that year for what was said to be "personal reasons," although it was later confirmed that the hard-partying vocalist had entered rehab for the second time in his career. Jared Weeks from SAVING ABEL filled in for Winkler on what was then a temporary basis.

HINDER spent much of 2013 on the road in support of its fourth album, "Welcome To The Freakshow", which came out in 2012.

TENACIOUS D: KYLE GASS Goes Solo; Debut Album In April

TENACIOUS D: KYLE GASS Goes Solo; Debut Album In April

What does Kyle Gass (TENACIOUS D) do when he’s not playing with the Greatest Band in the World? He assembles an otherworldly super-team of badass dudes to back him up in his own project, The Kyle Gass Band.

Along with The D’s longtime electric guitarist, John Konesky, resident Sasquatch and guitarist/vocalist, Mike Bray, mythical bass legend,“Uncle Jazz” and percussion genius/international heart-throb Tim Spier and Uncle Jazz Jason Keene, the rollicking gentlemanly ensemble traverses hill and dale to bring earth-shattering rock and roll to the wanting 100`s.

If you’re lucky enough to catch this man-herd on the road, you’ll surely count it as one of your finest living days. If you’re less lucky (but still quite fortunate) to have only cast ears on the debut recording, then consider yourself nothing short of pregnant. 2 years off-and-on, and in between Tenacious D mega-tours, the accomplished men honed their sound and forged a master-work only craft-able by the deepest knowledge of a master. Men, women, children, domesticated house pets, earth roaming wild mammals, sea-dwelling creatures of the deep, insects, species yet unknown, gods and leaders, universal truths, and earthly lies; all lay wanting in subjugation to the new interstellar constant that is the Kyle Gass Band.

Get the record, throw on some headphones, and take the journey, friends, for you have something the band can never have… The ability to listen, with child-like wonder, to the magic of song, while having no earthly clue how to create such brilliance… Such is the albatross of genius.. Such are the chains of unparalleled skill… Such is the KGB.

The album will be released in Scandinavia on April 15th, in Germany on April 17th and in Europe on April 20th as CD, LP and Download on Steamhammer/SPV.

BUMBLEFOOT: ART OF ANARCHY Is

BUMBLEFOOT: ART OF ANARCHY Is 'Not Competition Or A Threat' To Any Of Our Other Projects

Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal has confirmed that his ART OF ANARCHY project will likely employ a new vocalist when and if the band hits the road later in the year.

In addition to the GUNS N' ROSES guitarist, the recording lineup for ART OF ANARCHY's first CD included ex-STONE TEMPLE PILOTS singer Scott Weiland and DISTURBED bassist John Moyer. The rest of the lineup is filled out by Jon Votta on guitar and Vince Votta on drums. The group's debut disc will arrive this spring.

In a statement on his Facebook page posted only hours after the ART OF ANARCHY project was first announced, Weiland minimized his involvement with the group, explaining: "I just saw some press about a side project called ART OF ANARCHY that I worked on last year. I wrote and put my vocals down for these guys and had fun doing a couple of videos too. We had a lot of fun. When they find their frontman to hit the road and play some dates, check them out."

In an exclusive statement to Rolling Stone, Thal wrote that "ART OF ANARCHY is not competition or a threat or interference to what any of us are doing — it's a complement, an addition, one I'm proud of creatively."

He continued: "[There is] no need to minimize or undermine or devalue a project we all worked on together over the course of two years.

"I enjoyed working with Scott. And I'm looking forward to [the SCOTT WEILAND AND] THE WILDABOUTS album release, the Bumblefoot album release, and the ART OF ANARCHY album release. The more music the better, it's what we do, right? :) Artists do collaborations and a month later, their own album comes out. This is normal stuff. All good. :)"

Thal added: "The five of us made an album together. Scott is currently the singer of the band. It's in writing; no confusion. But yes, Scott's solo album and tour are his priority and we're all on the same page about getting another vocalist if ART OF ANARCHY hits the road. But we don't need to cross that bridge just yet. Taking everything as it comes, one step at a time, letting it evolve organically. Where it goes from here (and with who!) is yet to be seen."

ART OF ANARCHY is the brainchild of Thal and the Votta brothers, who have been friends for 18 years dating back to their days on the New York music scene.

Thal also serves as producer and engineer on the album.

Weiland is no stranger to supergroups, having formed VELVET REVOLVER with several former members of GUNS N' ROSES more than a decade ago.

He was dismissed from that band in 2008, rejoining STP until they also fired him in early 2013. He and THE WILDABOUTS will put out a new album in March.

Thal has been with GUNS N' ROSES since 2006, playing on the 2008 album "Chinese Democracy". He has also released a number of solo CDs.

Moyer has been DISTURBED's bassist since 2004. The band has been on an extended hiatus since late 2011.

POP EVIL Taps Producer ADAM KASPER For New Album

POP EVIL Taps Producer ADAM KASPER For New Album

Michigan-based act POP EVIL will enter Studio Litho and London Bridge Studios with veteran producer Adam Kasper to begin work on an all-new LP, due out this summer.

Kasper, who has helmed mega-hit records for bands like PEARL JAM, SOUNDGARDEN and FOO FIGHTERS, was the obvious choice to produce POP EVIL's new CD.

"It was very important to us to choose a producer that has the credentials," says POP EVIL frontman Leigh Kakaty. "We also had a distinct vision on where the band could move forward and take our sound into the future.

"With the success of our last record we wanted to challenge ourselves and explore new and creative ways of musical expression."

Adds Kasper: "Individually, these guys are all great players and writers. Collectively, they are a force to be reckoned with.

"Musically, this record is intricate, heavy and melodic.

"With their charismatic lead singer and a drummer that sounds like John Bohnam and Dave Grohl's love child, I'm more than excited about this one."

The yet-to-be-titled effort will be the highly anticipated follow-up to POP EVIL's previous LP, "Onyx", which was released in 2013 and has sold 115,000 copies in the U.S. alone. "Onyx" also produced four Top 10 singles on the Active Rock chart, with three of them reaching Number One: "Trenches", "Deal With The Devil" and "Torn To Pieces".

The band has been doing regular updates from the studio via their Facebook page. They also have plans to release a handful of behind-the-scenes studio videos exclusively through RevolverMag.com in the coming weeks.

Since "Onyx" was released, POP EVIL has played over 250 shows. Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival alongside GODSMACK, supporting STONE SOUR in the U.S. and FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH in Europe were just some of the highlights from last year. The band also made headlines with their memorable Rock On The Range festival performance in Columbus, Ohio. Not only did they perform "Trenches" with Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame member Darryl "D.M.C." McDaniels, but the band brought 13 marines on stage showcasing the Lima Company Eyes of Freedom Memorial to stand behind them during the performance.

By the time 2014 came to a close, the band found their songs atop the year end charts at Billboard magazine. "Torn To Pieces" landed at #7 on the "Top Mainstream Rock Songs" while POP EVIL came in at #4 on the "Mainstream Rock Artists" chart.

FORGOTTEN TOMB Putting Final Touches On New Album

FORGOTTEN TOMB Putting Final Touches On New Album

Italy's notorious black/doom metallers, Forgotten Tomb, are on the final lap of the recording process of their next installment, having recently completed mixing duties in Sound Suite Studios (Marseille, France) with producer Terje Refsnes (Carpathian Forest, Novembre, Gehenna, Destroyer 666).

Forgotten Tomb's leader Ferdinando "Herr Morbid" Marchisio commented: "We are extremely proud of how this new album came out. We worked really hard, like never before. Terje Refsnes is a really experienced producer and he managed to get the best out of us. We kept the sound very organic and natural, kinda old-fashioned but still very fresh. The new songs are heavy as fuck and they feature our classic trademark plus some new elements. It's a good mix of melancholy, groove and pure malignancy. I can't wait for people to listen to it, 'cause it's a really special album for us and probably the most extreme we did in quite a while, both musically and conceptually."

The band's eight studio album will be mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege Studio (Corrosion Of Conformity, Nails, Vallenfyre, Beastmilk, High On Fire) in Portland (Oregon, USA). A spring release date via Agonia Records is expected. Further details will be announced shortly.

IRON MAIDEN

IRON MAIDEN's STEVE HARRIS Drops Another Million From Asking Price Of English Country House

According to Harlow Star, IRON MAIDEN bassist Steve Harris has dropped almost another million pounds from the asking price of his eight-bedroom mansion in Essex.

Harris put his English country house on the market in 2012 for £6,750,000 (approximately $10,139,100), but that price came down in 2013 by £0.9 million to £5,850,000 (approximately $8,787,000). The current asking price is £4,950,000 (approximately $7,436,000).

Check out photos of the home at RightMove.co.uk

A description of the property reads as follows: "Approached via a pretty country lane and private gated entrance into a sweeping gravel driveway with large parking area, Sheering Hall is an historic substantial medieval country house of some 11,000 square feet full of character and period features throughout. It is grade II listed and there has been a house on the site since the Domesday Book and parts of the house date back to 1427. The property offers a fantastic variety of facilities for entertaining on a grand scale.

"Surrounding the entrance hall with its exposed beams and open fireplace are the three main reception rooms. The sitting room and drawing room both have fine detail and character with floor to ceiling oak panelled walls and high ceilings with guilded ornate cornicing. The drawing room boasts a grand wooden carved fireplace with wood burner. The kitchen benefits from a four-oven aga and raised breakfast area and from the kitchen there is access to the playroom, boot room and utility area.

"Through a further hallway is access to your own private and fully equipped pub 'The Horse And Cart' complete with ale on tap. From the second hallway, further leisure amenities extend to an impressive media room, again with a high ornately decorated ceiling and an office, editing studio and equipment store. A second staircase leads to the bespoke indoor heated swimming pool with truly unique hand painted mural tiles and wall murals with raised gym area, 2 separate recreational areas, changing room, separate kitchen and impressive split level galleried recording studio.

"From the entrance hall, the main wood panelled staircase leads up to the first floor with the principal bedroom, dressing room and en suite bathroom, there are 7 further bedrooms, a family bathroom and three shower rooms as well as staff accommodation consisting of bedroom, shower room, sitting room and kitchen which can also be accessed via the second staircase. Additionally there is a separate 3 bedroom coach house with sitting room, 2 shower rooms, extensive garaging and workshop."

ASKING ALEXANDRIA Parts Ways With Singer DANNY WORSNOP

ASKING ALEXANDRIA Parts Ways With Singer DANNY WORSNOP

ASKING ALEXANDRIA frontman Danny Worsnop has released the following statement:

"To all of my friends and fans: I would like to let you know that ASKING ALEXANDRIA and I are moving forward in separate ways.

"Over the last eight years together, we've done some amazing things and created something truly special. I now, same as then, want what's best for the band and at this point in time, that isn't me.

"ASKING ALEXANDRIA will continue to tour throughout the year and will be working on a new album.

"I will always support and love ASKING ALEXANDRIA and cannot wait to see what the future holds for them.

"I am excited for the next chapter of my life with WE ARE HARLOT and will see you all on the road!"

Danny told Kerrang! magazine in an interview last year that when he first started talking about his then-side project WE ARE HARLOT in interviews, it did initially cause some friction within his main band.

"Back when it started, there were maybe concerns and stress and bitterness from the guys," Danny said. "But over time they've realized that it's not detrimental to ASKING in any way. Everyone's calmed down, everyone's friends, and we'll hang out and drink and get stupid."

He added: "Both bands are getting my equal attention. Both bands are getting 100 percent of my efforts when I'm with them. In terms of physical time on the road and stuff, it's gonna be right down the middle. ASKING ALEXANDRIA always pretty much tours a set amount anyway, so it's not going to take anything away from that, and then the other half of my year is filled with the HARLOT shenanigans."

ASKING ALEXANDRIA guitarist Ben Bruce told RichardThinks last year that the band had begun working on the follow-up to 2013's "From Death To Destiny" CD. "We're actually writing our new album," he said. "Having a studio on tour with us, it's nice. We don't have to sit down with a laptop and make bullshit demos. I mean, I was listening to the demos we wrote — I was listening just like yesterday — and I was thinking, 'Man, these demos actually sound a lot better than some bands' albums that come out. Not the songs — they do too — but I just mean the quality; it's studio quality already, and they're just demos. So it's exciting."

On the direction of the new ASKING ALEXANDRIA material, Ben said: "This, to me, is the best stuff we've ever written. Musically, it's far, far superior to any of the previous albums. All of us have really practiced our instruments, and we're making a record now where each of us can shine individually as musicians. There's a lot more lead guitar, the bass lines are more intricate. There's a lot less relying on breakdowns. Even if we wanna keep a song heavy, we're not just automatically going, 'Let's write a breakdown to make it heavy.' We're thinking of other ways and other aspects to incorporate into songwriting that will make a song heavy rather than just taking the easy route and writing a breakdown, you know."

"From Death To Destiny" sold 38,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 6 on The Billboard 200 chart.

WE ARE HARLOT will release its self-titled debut album on March 31 via Roadrunner.

WE ARE HARLOT is set to make its return to stage in 2015 following their stellar live debut at Rock On The Range last year. The group is officially set to perform at an array of North American spring festivals, including such eagerly awaited events as Ft. Myers, Florida's Fort Rock (slated for April 25), Jacksonville, Florida's Welcome To Rockville (April 26), Concord, North Carolina's Carolina Rebellion (May 3), Somerset, Wisconsin's Northern Invasion (May 9), and Columbus, Ohio's Rock On The Range (May 15-17) with additional dates to be announced soon.

CHIP Z'NUFF - First Solo Album - Featuring Adler, Zander, Bozzio - Due In February

CHIP Z'NUFF - First Solo Album - Featuring Adler, Zander, Bozzio - Due In February

On February 3rd, Deadline Music (an imprint of Cleopatra Records) will release Strange Time, the first solo album by Chip Z’nuff. The 10-track record marks a departure from the trademark Enuff Z’nuff trip-pop sound, with heavier guitars and more psychedelic elements. In addition to special guest appearances, the album includes a bonus 5-track EP collaboration with former Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler.

“It’s a stoner rock record,” said Z’nuff, matter-of-factly. “What I have with Enuff Z’nuff is special, but this is a labor of love. I started these songs while going through every type of hard time – family, finances, relationships – and found moments of clarity while writing.” He also called on some tour buddies and long-time friends to guest on the record.

Having played bass for both Dale Bozzio (Missing Persons) and Adler (Adler’s Appetite), Z’nuff knew they’d contribute something truly unique (Z’nuff calls Adler’s drumming “incendiary”). Home state legend Robin Zander (Cheap Trick) lends his pipes to “All Day And All Of The Night” Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler’s son, Biff, sings on “Rockstar.”

The EP was recorded at Chicago Recording Company and Chip Z’nuff Studios in Blue Island, IL. Brendan Jeffrey produced, Jeff Luif mixed, and Bob Ludwig mastered.  Z’nuff and Adler performed all the music, with Bozzio on vocals and a Slash sample solo on “Tonight We Met.”

Strange Time tracklisting:

~ all songs written by Chip Z’nuff except where noted ~

"Sunshine"
"Rockstar"
"Strange Time:  (written by Chip Z’nuff and Trent Reznor)
"Dragonfly"
"Still Love Your Face" (written by Chip Z’nuff and Wendel Rey)

"Anna Nichole" (written by Chip Z’nuff and Syklopps)

ENSLAVED: First Trailer For

ENSLAVED: First Trailer For 'In Times' Album

"In Times", the thirteenth studio album by Norwegian progressive extreme metallers ENSLAVED, will be released on March 6, 2015 via Nuclear Blast. The CD's hand-painted artwork was created by longtime collaborating artist and "sixth ENSLAVED member" Truls Espedal.

The band has just released the first album trailer detailing the development of artwork. Watch the clip below as Truls walks you through the painting process.

Says Espedal: "Working with oil paint and a deadline can be somewhat aggravating, and I learned that red paint takes really really long to dry! But I almost made the deadline finishing three paintings and layout, all the time with 'In Times' on the stereo.

"I've played the album closer to two hundred times by now, and I find it to be more in every way. It sounds potent and fresh, and the tracks are just fucking inspirational. So, I went for more as well. I wanted the cover to have more atmosphere, starker contrasts and be more subtle yet dramatic.

"Ivar and Grutle's concept allowed me to add new elements and be more experimental, without wanting to leave the familiar. It also allowed for more diversity through the cover, especially the vinyl.

"The three paintings for this release range from figurative work to very stylized, almost abstract, expanding upon the front cover. The process was also a bit different; more dynamic. A lot of the artwork was improvised, which is not typical me. I enjoyed it. And I feel I'm getting the hang of the oil paint now, so I'm really excited for next time."

Frontman Grutle Kjellson adds: "I just love the album cover. I honestly think this is the best artwork I have ever seen. That is, of course, because Truls has developed the ability to transform me and Ivar's often surreal concepts and ideas into an actual painting.

"This painting is the perfect projection of our lyrics; it even extends the written words.

"This is a picture of mythology, life, death and time.

"Truls has made a masterpiece, we have made the soundtrack."

The main recording sessions for "In Times" took place at Duper Studios and Solslottet Studio in Bergen, Norway with additional recordings sessions at Conclave & Earshot Studios (presided over by ENSLAVED members Herbrand Larsen and Ice Dale), and Ivar Bjørnson's Peersonal Sound Studios. Additional experimentation and sonic exploration was conducted deep in the woods of Valevåg south of Bergen where a mobile studio recorded additional sounds.

"In Times" was produced by bandmembers Ivar Bjørnson, Grutle Kjellson and Herbrand Larsen together with Iver Sandøy. Mixing was completed by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios in Örebro, Sweden.

ENSLAVED guitarist and composer Ivar Bjørnson stated the following about the band's latest creation: "I was so deep into the songs and ideas for such a long time (or have my head so far up my own ass, if you prefer more direct language) that it is hard to have any 'opinions' about them that is anything else than the high-flying mumbo-jumbo of the introvert songsmith. The songs are extensions of my inner and outer life, the thoughts I am aware of having, as well as those that lie too deep to register in everyday consciousness. The songs are the resounds of grandiose altered states and mundane tiny micro-events. In addition, they are, of course, also the result of inspiration from other music and art. I do think this new album is the most consistent body of work we have so far: It incorporates our 'blacker' past with our influences from prog rock, our present sense of absolute freedom, and the joy of being in this band, if that makes any sense… Ha, ha, ha. It is higher in energy, more aggressive, yet more beautiful and subtle. It simply sounds inspired."

"In Times" track listing:

01. Thurisaz Dreaming02. Building With Fire03. One Thousand Years Of Rain04. Nauthir Bleeding05. In Times06. Daylight

The new album’s total running time is fifty-three minutes.
