New York rock act REV THEORY has inked a worldwide deal with Another Century. In addition, the band has exclusively partnered with WWE and WWE Network to have a brand new track, "We Own The Night", as the official theme song to NXT's hit series "Breaking Ground". REV THEORY is also hard at work on its much-anticipated new full-length album, to be released later this year.

"Hot Streak", the new video from THE WINERY DOGS — the power trio featuring drummer Mike Portnoy (DREAM THEATER, AVENGED SEVENFOLD, ADRENALINE MOB), legendary bassist Billy Sheehan (MR. BIG, TALAS, DAVID LEE ROTH) and guitarist/vocalist Richie Kotzen (MR. BIG, POISON) — can be seen below. The clip was directed by Vicente Cordero and features mostly performance footage that was shot last fall during the band's U.S. tour.

"Hot Streak" is the title track of THE WINERY DOGS' sophomore album, which debuted at No. 30 on The Billboard 200 chart, having shifted 13,000 equivalent album units in the week ending October 8, 2015.

"Hot Streak" was released on October 2 in North America on Loud & Proud Records via RED (a division of Sony Music Entertainment) and in the rest of the world via earMUSIC.

"Hot Streak" shows the powerfully pedigreed trio's initial burst of collective chemistry was no accident, from the strum and headbang of "Captain Love" to the propulsive uplifting vibe of "The Bridge" to the introspective acoustic harmonic convergence of "Fire". If these three DOGS thought they captured lightning in a supper dish the first time around, "Hot Streak" barks ups the aural ante into exciting new territory. "I feel we've taken the band to another level," explained Kotzen. "The compositions are stronger on this album. I feel more connected lyrically and musically to what I did on this record than on the last one. We've widened the musical scope of the band on this record and moved it forward." Portnoy added: "Everything on this album was more of a collaboration than on the first album. There's just a natural chemistry. The three of us really mesh very, very well, both musically and personally. The mission of this band is to write catchy songs, and not have the musicianship overpower that." "I'm glad we're not playing it safe and just doing songs that automatically fit in the category of what we did on the first record," Sheehan concluded. "Some of them are a little different, and we definitely took chances. And you have to do that — otherwise, you don't grow."

The surviving members of Led Zeppelin have all been questioned in a lawsuit that alleges their hit “Stairway To Heaven” was filched from an obscure song by the band Spirit, reports Bloomberg Business. Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, and Robert Plant were each deposed separately over the past month as part of pretrial discovery in the copyright infringement case, new filings in Los Angeles federal court show.

During the depositions in London, they all said that they had no idea what their finances or earnings were with Led Zeppelin, according to a filing by the plaintiff's lawyer asking for more time to investigate. The musicians and their record company, Warner Music, deny the infringement allegations and say Plant and Page alone composed the 1971 song.

To many ears, the opening notes of “Stairway To Heaven” sound a lot like Taurus, an instrumental piece released on Spirit’s debut album in 1968 (decide for yourself here). At the end of that year and throughout 1969, Spirit and Led Zeppelin shared the bill at several concerts.

Led Zeppelin's guitarist, however, testified his memory of the era was vague, according to the filing by plaintiff's lawyer Francis Alexander Malofiy, who conducted the questioning. "Jimmy Page’s discovery answers [the] claim that he remembers virtually nothing about the 1960s or 1970s despite many public interviews concerning Spirit where he stated that he listened to the band’s albums and that they struck him on an emotional level, despite the fact that he played and attended concerts where Spirit performed," Malofiy wrote.

In celebration of their 50th anniversary, rock legends Scorpions recently posted the Tokyo Tapes Documentary Part II. Check out Klaus and Uli telling the story of them performing the Japanese traditional song “Kojo No Tsuki” and Rudolf explaining how a fortune teller promised them a great career but also some difficult times ahead.

Founded in Hannover, West Germany in 1965, Scorpions were part of the first wave of metal in the 1970’s with their debut album, Lonesome Crow, released in 1972. The band rose to arena status with seminal releases Lovedrive, Virgin Killer and Animal Magnetism. In the 1980s, Scorpions amassed a string of Billboard chart toppers from Love At First Sting and Blackout, including multiple Top 10 singles "Rock You Like A Hurricane" and "No One Like You," as well a string of successful singles such as "Send Me An Angel," "Still Loving You" and "Wind Of Change”.

OTEP, the band led by singer, poet, illustrator, author and activist Otep Shamaya, will release its seventh studio album, "Generation Doom", on April 15 via Napalm. The CD was produced by Howard Benson, who has previously worked with such acts as MOTÖRHEAD, PAPA ROACH, THREE DAYS GRACE, FLYLEAF, P.O.D. and HALESTORM.

DOWN's February 8 concert at Civic Theatre in New Orleans, Louisiana has been canceled by the organizers following an incident last month where the band's lead singer, Philip Anselmo, said "white power" and made the Nazi salute at a show.

An official statement regarding the cancelation reads as follows: "After recent actions by Phil Anselmo during the Dimebash event this past week, we have cancelled DOWN's performance at the Civic. We do not tolerate intolerant behavior, and there is no room for that in our venue or our city. Refunds are available at point of purchase. In addition to offering full refunds for all ticket purchases, the Civic has made a donation to the Jewish Federation of New Orleans, pledging our support for a united community."

Also included in the statement was the following quote from Bob Marley: "Me only have one ambition, y'know. I only have one thing I really like to see happen. I like to see mankind live together — black, white, Chinese, everyone — that's all."

Anselmo performed the PANTERA classic "Walk" at the January 22 "Dimebash" event at the Lucky Strike Live in Hollywood, California in honor of his former bandmate, late PANTERA guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott. As he left the stage, he made a Nazi-style salute. He appeared to say "white power" as he made the gesture, but he later claimed he was referring to drinking white wine as part of an "inside joke." Anselmo has since released a video message, saying that he "deserves completely" the "heat" that he has been getting over his actions and claiming to be "a thousand percent apologetic to anyone that took offense to what [he] said."

Several notable musicians have come out and criticized Anselmo for his actions, including MACHINE HEAD frontman Robb Flynn, who uploaded an eleven-minute video response to the incident in which he called Anselmo a "big bully" and described Philip's behavior as "fucking wrong."

Earlier today, Anselmo released another statement in which he said: "My [DOWN] bandmates are now experiencing the consequences of my behavior, and I now publicly apologize to them as well. Never in my entire lifetime would I drag them down with me, and I've privately suggested to them that they move on without me.

"My biggest obstacle(s) are the over-indulging in the booze and blurting out spiteful, ignorant reductions of the human spirit itself. I will address these issues, head-on.

"I'm repulsed by my own actions, and the self-loathing I'm going through right now is justified by the hurt I've caused."

"Prayers/Triangles", a brand new song from DEFTONES, can be streamed below. The track is taken from the band's forthcoming eighth studio release, "Gore", which will be out on April 8.

DEFTONES frontman Chino Moreno stated about "Prayers/Triangles": "I feel like it's just one of those songs that's very 'DEFTONES-esque,' where that dynamic is there as far as that ebb and flow and that dynamic of just those parts that go at your throat. But, you know, it also has a soothing quality to it as well, and that dichotomy is what makes us who were are, in a way. It's sort of our DNA. So I feel like it's a good representation of where we're at right now and where we’ve been in the past as well."

"Gore" had been rumored as a title for some time and Chino Moreno recently had some fun with the speculation by posting photos of DEPECHE MODE's Martin L. Gore and "A Nightmare On Elm Street"'s Freddy Krueger character online.

DEFTONES guitarist Stephen Carpenter once admitted if it were up to him, the band wouldn't even bother with album titles. "I'll be the guy that's constantly saying, 'What do we need a fucking title for?'" he told The Pulse Of Radio. "I just don't, I'm over, you know, naming records and all this and that. You know what I've wanted to do with our records? I think it would be cool. I want to put a CD out, it would look and appear to you as a blank CD. Take all the imagery away from the front so you're purely selling the music."

"Gore" will serve as the follow-up to 2012's "Koi No Yokan", which featured the Top 15 rock radio hit "Tempest".

The new disc features a guest appearance from ALICE IN CHAINS guitarist Jerry Cantrell.

Chino Moreno recently told Kerrang! about the new set: "The heavier stuff is a little faster, and the more quaint stuff is a little more lush. It’s extreme in both directions. It’s not happy-sounding. We’ve been enjoying our lives and it’s not coming from a place of anger, or depression, or anything like that. But there’s darker content on it."

DEFTONES will tour Texas in March and has some festival dates on tap for May.

Power Prog has announced the signing of one of the best kept South American secrets in terms of metal, the Brazilians of Endless. Southern California's Seven Sisters Of Sleep is an act not content with fitting into one genre or subgenre. In September it was announced that Seven Sisters Of Sleep hat signed to renowned independent label Relapse Records for their upcoming third full-length album, Ezekiel's Hags, which is far and away the band's most ambitious and meticulously-crafted material to date. Danish power thrash metallers, Artillery, will release their new full-length, Penalty By Perception, on March 25th worldwide via Metal Blade Records. To pre-order the album in various formats head to this location. The first single, "In Defiance Of Conformity" is streaming below.

One man UK extreme metal wrecking machine Tom Reynolds has been making quite a name for himself of late with his incessant live appearances up and down the UK and knack for marrying a plethora of extreme metal sounds into one. Now having completed his next Foul Body Autopsy record, an EP entitled Perpetuated By Greed, like all its predecessors Tom has a message to deliver, and again, just like its predecessors, the message is as subtle as a JCB driving up a village main street. Tom elaborates, "It's a refection of how messed up the world is at the moment, and thanks to the right wing turn in politics and in the media a mood of fear and paranoia has taken hold. There are families drowning in the sea, running from the crossfire of blood thirsty extremist death cult and a desperate amoral military dictatorship, and instead of trying to help there are governments doing everything in their power to stop refugees getting to safety. As well as that, we have national newspapers here giving people, and someone in particular, space in their rag to call these affected people cockroaches! We have a Prime Minister who says that anyone that opposes war is a "terrorist sympathizer” and if we look across the pond things are not that much better... a man that looks like a biological car crash is running for president and most of the things he says are completely false but because most of his followers don't trust the media he can create his own insane reality and have thousands of people blindly agree with him. The future isn't looking too great."

Last year saw the release of So Close To Dehumanization, an EP which resonated with his vegan beliefs and explored the often ignored process of how modern societies demand for meat is actually fulfilled. Some countries may have certain laws in place to ease animal suffering, which is an inevitable result of our desire for meat produce, but the fact remains, animals are being bred and killed for consumption in industrial scale operations and do not live a natural life. A video was released for 'So Close To Complete Dehumanization', a video which received some backlash due to its disturbing content, albeit very real.

Recorded at The Parlour Recording Studio (Napalm Death, Dimmu Borgir, Evile) with producer Neil Haynes and featuring cover art from Coki Greenway, Perpetuated By Greed delves into environmental issues, and subjects on a broader scale in comparison to So Close To Dehumanization. The record features six tracks of blistering blackened death grind extreme metal, fast drumming, growls and pinpoint guitar work.

Finnish death/black metallers, Illusions Dead, will release their debut album, Celestial Decadence, on February 8th. The band is streaming the entire album below. The album will be available digitally and on limited edition CD (200 copies) through the group's Bandcamp page.

Driven by death and shrouded in darkness, Celestial Decadence is shockingly robust for a debut, as the band honours a proud Finnish metal tradition that is marked by passion and power. Chilean groove/thrash metallers Lefutray have released the second official video from 2015 Sick Bangers album Oath with “Sounds Kill”.

According to The Advocate, a man fell or jumped from an upper level of the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana during TOOL's sold-out January 31 concert at the venue. The extent of his injuries is unknown.

"We can confirm that a patron fell," said Sabrina Trahan, the arena's event marketing and media coordinator, in an e-mailed statement. "An investigation is ongoing."

The fall reportedly happened during TOOL's encore and was witnessed by freelance journalist Wesley Hodges. "It was scary," he told The Advocate. "I caught it out of the corner of my eye. I saw a body coming down and heard a really loud crash. I saw him lying on the ground. There was chaos after that. People were screaming." He added that police and arena security personnel arrived almost immediately. "They were on top of it very quickly," he said.

The TOOL members were reportedly unaware of the incident and finished the show, as scheduled, shortly after 11 p.m.

TOOL has gone ten years without releasing a new album and has issued only four full-length CDs over the course of its quarter-century existence.

"Let All The World Believe", a new song from the Minneapolis, Minnesota hard rock/industrial metal outfit AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE, can be streamed below. AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE released the "Shoot" EP in July 2013. The disc was recorded by Don Debiase at Studio D Productions in Cleveland, Ohio and was mixed by Dave Fortman at Balance Productions in New Orleans, Louisiana.

THE WILDHEARTS frontman Ginger (real name David Walls) and director Mark Haldor have unveiled a powerful and thought-provoking short film to accompany the song "Don't Lose Your Tail, Girl" from Ginger's forthcoming album, "Year Of The Fanclub", due on February 12 through the Round Records Records label.

Ginger explains: "'Don't Lose Your Tail, Girl' is a feminist song written by a man.

"I was brought up by strong women and had little positive male influence in my life in comparison. I think this gives me an unbiased view on the opposite sex, by which I mean it's unaffected by the stereotypes supported in magazines aimed at both men and women.

"In the end, it's a song about appreciating yourself, giving yourself a break, which seems harder for women in society.

"I wanted Mark to film the movie as I know he has earned strong bonds with the actresses he works with. He also has an eye for beauty beyond heavy makeup and posing, which is what a nine-minute film really needs. Nine minutes of contorting females would be torturous to watch. He has captured personality and joy, as well as a darker side that is quite disturbing.

"I think the film is a work of art, occasionally uncomfortable to watch, but with a lasting feeling of freedom. It's a song about not losing your identity, and the film captures that in the natural beauty of the performances."

Director Mark Haldor says: "[I wanted to] create a visual stimulus that would not only do the lyrics and eclectic sounds justice, but provoke a look at women, of all ages, races and backgrounds and what they go through in life, both positive and negative.

"My intention was that everyone viewing should be able to resonate with at least one moment from it on a personal level. Whilst shot with many beautiful and talented actresses to tell several stories, the suggestion is that they could also be contrasting snapshots of just one character's life, had she made different life choices.

"It was important to me that there was also no definitive ending to this film or any of the stories told as I wanted people to be left wondering what happens to these characters next? Just as we do with people we know and have known in real life. A reminder for all to embrace each day and who we are because that's all that truly matters."

Originally released in 1993 via Geffen Records, Believe In Me is Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan's first solo album. Spanish death metal band Bizarre have just finished the recordings of their debut mini CD entitled Inner Necropolis, and have revealed the cover artwork (by Raúl González), tracklist and advance song, that will be released March 1st through Xtreem Music.

Inner Necropolis was partially recorded, and later mixed and mastered at Moontower Studios by Javi Félez (Graveyard) getting a truly dark, heavy and rotting sound for Bizarre's debut release. Compounded by six songs, the style displayed is old fashioned death metal blending heavy and brutal passages with crushing mid-tempos and killer melodies accompanied by an ultra-low guttural vocal performance.

Guitar and keyboard virtuoso Tony MacAlpine, who was recently diagnosed with colon cancer, has checked in with a new update:

"Fans in Mexico! Please share! It's recently come to our attention that the guitars stolen from Tony in Austin on June 11 last year have shown up in San José Iturbide Guanajuato, Mexico. We have not had luck contacting the seller, however Tony would like the guitars back. Here are the guitars that were stolen:

- his black Ibanez Guitars custom 7-string with EMG Pickups installed (serial LA071509);
- his white Ibanez 7-string with black EMG 707 pickups (serial LA0168);
- Also stolen were a Peavy EVH sunburst, a white Carvin 7-string; plus Tony's pedalboard

We now have the full name, address and phone number of the person attempting to sell Tony's guitars. Thank you to the multiple people who all confirmed the seller's identity. We will work with local authorities and attempt to recover the instruments, but we may need assistance from locals in the San Jose Iturbide area to help us liaise with police. Stay tuned..."

"Hello my friends,

It has been a while since I have had the energy to write, so I will take this time to give you an update of sorts, a small window into some of my daily activities at this point.

Two months after my surgery on August 28th, I have been strictly following the course of these excellent Doctors of Medicine, and progress is being achieved at a rate they as well as I am encouraged by. It is a difficult routine that I must endure for many more months that involves a very intense series of drug therapies and constant analytical procedures that are overwhelmingly draining because of their brutal side effects, but my eyes and heart are on the big picture, which is recovery.

More often than not the biggest hurdle is knowing that after you engage yourself in this fight - this battle on a weekly schedule - you still must reserve some energy to think positive, as that is a very important and necessary mechanic in this healing process.

Your prayers, messages and positive energy are not going unnoticed, and although I have quite a long road ahead, it is not traveled alone, as I have all of you there for support. And I thank you all for that!

Brooklyn, NY black metal quintet, Tombs, have announced their first studio release with their new lineup, entitled All Empires Fall. Clocking in at 24 minutes long, the five track EP was recorded at Applehead Studios in New York and brought to life by renowned producer Sanford Parker (Minsk, Twilight, YOB).

All Empires Fall is a commanding, crushingly heavy release, one that invokes the kind of grandeur and magnitude its title suggests, and affirms Tombs as one of the leading lights of American - and international - black metal. The song "Deceiver" is streaming below.
