TOXIC WALTZ Prepare To Release Debut Album

German thrash metallers TOXIC WALTZ are currently looking for a label to release their debut full-length album.
In early f 2009, Toxic Waltz were founded by lead guitarist Jimi and ex-drummer Tim. Bass guitar player Rahman, vocalist Angelo and rhythm guitarist Alex joined the band soon to form a thrash metal ensemble that is clearly affected by the US Bay Area genre (EXODUS, HEATHEN, DARK ANGEL), neither leaving out influences from other genres nor lacking recognition value.
Toxic Waltz are delivering aggressive, but artistically demanding thrash, characterized by diversified songwriting. The band's unique style and live experience, originated with many smaller gigs, earned them bigger venues. Toxic Waltz shared the stage with well-known bands like SIX FEET UNDER, ALPHA TIGER and DEBAUCHERY.

BOMBUS Premier 'Enter The Night' Video

Gothenburg, Sweden’s BOMBUS have completed their second video for their Century Media debut album, The Poet And The Parrot. The video for 'Enter The Night', created by former bass Player Ulf Lundèn, who is taking care of all the band artwork, is something really special and shows the detailed love that Ulf took to this piece of art.

Here is what Bombus had to say about the video: "’Enter The Night’ is, obviously since we’re using it as a video track, one of our favorites on the album. The song pretty much sums up what we're about as it starts out as an aggressive rocker and ends on a more barren note. Behind the video is ex Bombus bass player Ulf - who totally has outdone himself with this video - where he let’s Bombus enter and travel through his version of the night. Enjoy and buckle up!"
The Poet And The Parrot will be released on August 26th in Europe and September 17th in North America. The album will be available as limited edition Digipak (with two additional bonus tracks), as standard CD and as gatefold vinyl (180gr. black or dark green version).
The Poet And The Parrot tracklisting:

'Enter The Night'
'The Poet And The Parrot'
'Liars'
'A Safe Passage'
'Apparatus'
'Let Her Die'
'Master The Reality'
'Into The Fire'

CANDLELIGHT RED Release New Single / Video 'Feel The Same'; Tour Dates Announced With CANDLEBOX And SICK PUPPIES

CANDLELIGHT RED are rising fast within the ranks of bands that specialize in hard rock with killer hooks, as evidenced by their latest release, Reclamation, and the new single/video, 'Feel The Same'. Directed by Wade Spencer and shot while the band was on tour earlier this summer, the clip continues the band's winning tradition of striking music videos, which showcases the excitement of their live show but shows Candlelight Red on the road behind the scenes.
Hailing from Williamsport, PA, and comprised of Ryan Hoke - lead vocals, Jeremy Edge - guitar/backing vocals, Jamie Morral- bass/backing vocals, and Tanner Wayne - drums, Edge recently offered his thoughts on the 'Feel The Same' video: "Since this is a much mellower tune for us, we thought it would be cool to give fans a glimpse of life on tour as well as the sacrifices we all make to be away from family and friends to go out and do what we love most... travel over the country playing music and trying to win over new fans!"

Reclamation was issued on June 4th, and was produced by SEVENDUST's Morgan Rose and recorded at Architekt Studios in Butler,NJ. Taking over drum duties is Tanner Wayne, who replaced Brian Dugan (due to family obligations). Wayne previously was a member of the bands CHIODOS and SCARY KIDS SCARING KIDS, and has toured with LMFAO, UNDEROATH, and EMMURE.
The new look Candlelight Red lineup will continue touring throughout the summer and fall, as dates with CANDLEBOX (in August) and then SICK PUPPIES (in September) have been announced. Also, VIP Packages are available at this location, for fans to enjoy the ultimate Candlelight Red experience.

BLUES PILLS To Release Devil Man EP

Up and coming multicultural blues rock outfit BLUES PILLS have announced the release of their brand new Devil Man EP, to be released on October 18th via Nuclear Blast Records. The title will be available as digisleeve CD, 10“ vinyl (available in different and exclusive colours) and digital download. Pre-order here.
Tracklisting:

'Devil Man'
'The River'
'Time Is Now'
'Dig In'

Commented the band: "Devil Man was one of the first songs we wrote, but it's still one of our favorites to play. It's just a simple riff, with a good melody, played with lots of energy. The message is simple, and it's about anyone who you consider to be your enemy! 'The River' is the softest and saddest song we have. The lyrics are basically about searching for answers to life's questions. 'Time Is Now' is all about living in the present, and enjoying the moment. Live today! 'Dig In' - we tried to play with the dynamics of the song quite a bit. It showcases our delicate side as well as our heavy side. The lyrics are about living according to your own beliefs as opposed to what you are told to believe, and not blindly buying into something.“
Right in time for the release of Devil Man, on October 18th Blues Pills will play a special show for WDR Rockpalast at Crossroads Festival, Harmonie/Bonn, Germany.

SAVATAGE: 'Streets: A Rock Opera' Narrated Version Reissue Detailed

earMUSIC has announced the long-awaited final chapter of the successful SAVATAGE reissues series. Previously unreleased and originally only intended for the Broadway rendition, "Streets: A Rock Opera" — the groundbreaking album by SAVATAGE — is now available including its original narration parts.

To complete this extraordinary release and to award the many fans who have shown dedication and love for SAVATAGE's legacy, the final chapter of this reissue series will feature the band's favorite videos. Released for the first time on DVD and restored from the original tapes, the video collection spans from SAVATAGE's 1987's video "Hall Of The Mountain King" until 1996's "One Child".

As on all previous chapters of the SAVATAGE reissues series, the album includes newly written liner notes by Jon Oliva, who is sharing his memories about all SAVATAGE videos.

Fans looking for unreleased and rare bonus tracks will be happy to discover a lot of extra audio content on the DVD: "Shotgun Innocence", "Forever After", one instrumental acoustic version of "Voyage", live versions of "Stare Into The Sun" and "Conversation Piece" recorded in Japan (but NOT included on the official live CD) and the piano version of "Sleep". The bonus track "Larry Elbows" deserves a special mention: this previously unreleased song didn't make it on the original "Streets: A Rock Opera" album due to time limits and is finally available to all the fans that never forgot the creativity and the energy of this extraordinary band.

"I'm really excited for this version of 'Streets' to finally be released," says Jon Oliva. "It was something different, an idea that Paul O'Neill had to take the progressive rock opera format to a bigger and better place than anything we had done, and anything I had heard anyone else doing before. This version of the album has only been floating around on bootlegs."

CRAIG GOLDY Says DIO DISCIPLES Are Planning To Record Original Material

Greg Prato of Songfacts recently conducted an interview with former DIO and current DIO DISCIPLES guitarist Craig Goldy. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.

Songfacts: How has it been touring with DIO DISCIPLES so far?

Craig Goldy: It's good. For those who love Ronnie [James Dio] and miss him, which all of us do, that's the hard part. And then the easy part is seeing people enjoy the music again, because the main key was to keep Ronnie's memory alive. So the people that go with us, like Tim "Ripper" Owens [JUDAS PRIEST, ICED EARTH, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN] and Oni Logan [LYNCH MOB], and at the beginning Toby Jepson [LITTLE ANGELS], they all had a heart for Ronnie, because they were either close friends or close to the inner circle of the Dio family. So with that heart, they performed that music that way. And it would come across. So we never knew when, but there was always going to be a special moment when a group of people gather together in the same room for the same purpose with the same heart, mind, and spirit. Something very special happens because of that. That's usually what happens during the performances: there's a moment when the band and the audience connect as one and you can see people just singing to the sky and tears rolling down their cheeks, because they miss him so much, and the music has made such an impression on them because it's been a big part of their lives throughout the years. It's like a memorial service in every city and country we go to. That part of it is really amazing.

Songfacts: Has there been any talk about DIO DISCIPLES doing an album of all new material?

Craig: Yes. In fact, I've been working on some original material recently, and at Ronnie's memorial service — the public memorial service — I stated that when I ever did another original material project, that I want to make sure that I utilize the things that I learned from him and that would hopefully make him proud. So when Wendy Dio heard the songs that I've been working on, she said, "Wow, Ronnie would be really proud of you." That was real special. So we're probably in the first phase of what would be a live CD with a couple of bonus tracks of original material.

Songfacts: So the plan is to first do that and then work on a whole new album?

Craig: Yes. And we want to make sure that people don't think we're trying to replace Ronnie. Like a lot of bands who have had members either leave or die, they go on with the same name and for the same purpose, and some fans get bummed out about that. We're not trying to do that. It's just if we do do a full album of original material, it's not replacing him. It would be our way of saying, "Hey, this is what we've learned from him, this is what the man means to us." It would be in the spirit of keeping his memory alive and honoring him in some way.

SIXX:A.M. - New Album Nearing Completion: "We Have Topped Ourselves"

Nikki Sixx, MÖTLEY CRÜE / SIXX:A.M. bassist and host of the syndicated radio show Sixx Sense, has issued the following update on the forthcoming Sixx:A.M. album:

"James has been with DJ in Vegas recording guitars on the new Sixx:A.M. album. We have a little ways to go to finish off the whole album but we're zeroing in on what the first single will be. It's not gonna be easy. I am so proud of this album from the ground up. These songs are very unique. James, DJ and myself feel we have topped ourselves but in the end you will be the ones who make that decision.

We have agreed on the album title and the artwork direction. Photo sessions, videos, going over album cover concepts and mapping out release dates are all hovering above our heads now. The excitement is growing and things looks great for us to play live at some point."
Sixx recently issued the following message to the fans:

"As an artist, I have really been riding a creative high lately. In the end I believe I was put on earth to create (anything and everything). I feel like I am in my zone lately. It's not easy to keep it up day after day, month after month and year after year but you soldier on. Eventually, if you've fallen out of your groove, you always find your way back home and if you focus hard enough on what you want to achieve, you will be even better at it than you were before. I see a lot of young artist's flame out so fast and I have to say the biggest secret to long term success (in any field) is to just keep doing it over and over and don't give up. Never quit. The crazy-makers and the naysayers will do there best to drag you down but only if YOU let them. 'Use them as motivation.'

So much exciting stuff coming up for Motley Crue, Sixx:A.M, Sixx Sense Radio and the Heroin Diaries broadway play.

It's all about forward progress and not perfection, just keep keeping on. I like to use Facebook and other social media outlets to connect us on a more human level, share my feelings, thoughts and update you in real time on whats happening.I like how you all do the same with me. Yes, I read as many posts as I can (time allowing) so thank you.

Positive thinking is the breeding ground for a positive life. Change your head and your life will follow......"

OBITUARY To Record New Album In November

David E. Gehlke of DeadRhetoric.com recently conducted an interview with singer John Tardy of Florida death metal veterans OBITUARY. A few excerpts from the chat follow below.

DeadRhetoric.com: What was the tipping point in terms of you doing something like this? Your relationship was Roadrunner wasn't always so rosy, but with Candlelight you were a priority, at least.

John Tardy: Yeah, we thought about it back then. It was one of those things where we talk about it and talk about [it], but don't really do anything. When it came time to get an album done, we were always like, "Okay, let's sign." Obviously, because of those contracts we signed with Roadrunner early on, that music is just gone. I couldn't print up a copy of "Slowly We Rot" if I wanted to and start selling them. That's a sad thing. And to think back then as teenagers signing those contracts, we had no idea to ask attorneys to look them over to see that it was a pretty standard contract. Come to find that signing something away from an entire lifetime doesn't seem "standard" to me. But, those days are gone and we've learned a lot from that, so, the stuff we did with Candlelight was all licensing, so that music comes back to us. That was a good thing that we got the music back and were in control. Two different things. Candlelight could have done a lot more — I don't think they had enough albums pressed when the first album [2007's "Xecutioner's Return"] came out. When it got to the stores, there was one copy per store, and they were gone. If you're lucky enough to get the kids to go down the store, that's one thing, it's another if you get them to go and it's not in the store so they have to wait a month, so by that time, they could download it. A lot of things have changed from when we first started to now. We could take the master from the ten grand that I was talking about, and we could do a digital-only release, then you don't have to do anything. Then it really doesn't cost you anything — that's not what we really want to do. We've been talking with Century Media a lot. They're really cool dudes and seem interested in working with us on any level, which is cool. If we could get some backing and get some cash in our pocket, we could do a lot more with this record. If we fall a little short, and need help to get some kind of distribution deal or help with pressing or something like that, we could probably get a much better deal for ourselves and maintain control of the record. Then we could get someone like Century Media to help with us on the marketing end because it seems like they have a really long reach.

DeadRhetoric.com: From the sounds of it, you will be working with Century Media in some form for the upcoming album? Is that correct?

Tardy: It is. We've talked to them a lot the last couple years, even for them to do the album. When we told them the initial plan to do the album by ourselves, they offered to work with us on any level we wanted them to. Those guys are really cool. Any time you see a metal band on Century Media, they usually give them a pretty good shot in marketing. We'll see. We're working hard to get funding one way or the other and the Kickstarter was a really good start.

DeadRhetoric.com: What's the progress on the new album?

Tardy: We really are — which is why we went ahead and started with that campaign — we're going to have the master done in December. We'll be recording in November. Most of the songs are done now; we only have a couple more to put together. We want to get about 13 songs ready; have 12 for the CD and have one in the wings to do something as a bonus. So we have the bulk of those things done; there's probably five, six, seven of them that are nearly complete, and another three or four where the structure is really there, we have some filling in to do. There's a couple more we have to put together. We're doing our best and we're trying to get them all done. Before we jam them, we want to give ourselves a month of just playing them time and time again, getting the feel for them and really feeling them out to make changes. That way, it gives you some flexibility to make changes, so the more you hear them, the more flexibility you have to make changes. That's where we're at. We hope to finish writing soon. Be done recording in November, mixing in December, and bam, have the thing out next year, and get the campaign started in January.

SAMMY HAGAR Wanted JAMES HETFIELD To Guest On 'Friends' Album

Sammy Hagar will release a star-studded solo set on September 24, called "Sammy Hagar & Friends". Among the high-profile guest performers and/or writers are Hagar's CHICKENFOOT bandmates Michael Anthony, Chad Smith, and Joe Satriani, along with Kid Rock, Ronnie Dunn, JOURNEY's Neal Schon, HEART's Nancy Wilson and various members of MONTROSE. The album will feature covers of BOB SEGER's "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man" and DEPECHE MODE's "Personal Jesus".

Asked in a brand new interview with RollingStone.com if he was able to get every guest musician that he wanted, Hagar said: I didn't really want to say this, but I'm completely honest: James Hetfield [METALLICA] is a dear friend and we hang out in Hawaii a lot. Kid Rock did the duet on 'Knockdown Dragout', which he recorded for me instantly. I would've just as soon had James Hetfield do it, but I ran into Kid, because I did that Detroit show with him, and we were communicating about other stuff and about his tour, so I just spontaneously asked him to sing on the track. And, boom, it got done. After he finished it, I thought that I would get James to sing just the 'Knockdown! Dragout!' part. I sent it to him and told him Kid Rock was on there and the whole thing, and he got back to me and said, quote-unquote, 'I'm completely flattered that you would want my sailor-assed voice on your record.' And then he said, ' . . . but it isn't my style.' And I said, 'It's OK. I still love you, James.'"

He added: "James has become just such a great frontman. He's really powerful, and he doesn't bullshit. He's not up there doing cheap shit to become a good frontman, like I do. I'll use a stupid line like, 'Are we having any fun yet?' just to get a reaction. And I know how to say something right before you end a song, so the band ends it and you get a big giant cheer because of something I said, and it sounds like they loved the song. I know all them little old veteran tricks. James doesn't even use that shit and he's still got charisma up the ass. He's really strong, man.

"I really wanted him on there, but it doesn't fit. I was cheating by sending him that song, because if he would've heard the whole album — if a METALLICA fan would've heard this album and bought it because he was on there, they would be pissed off. This isn't a METALLICA record, you know? But he's my friend, and I would've loved to have had him on it."
