Video: RUSSELL ALLEN And JOEL HOEKSTRA Perform WHITESNAKE, BAD COMPANY And LED ZEPPELIN Classics On 'Monsters Of Rock' Cruise
Joel Hoekstra (WHITESNAKE, TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA) and Russell Allen (SYMPHONY X, TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA) performed an acoustic set of rock classics — including those by WHITESNAKE, BAD COMPANY and LED ZEPPELIN — during this year's Monsters Of Rock cruise, which sailed earlier this month from Fort Lauderdale to Belize. They were accompanied by various musicians, including drummer Mike Vanderhule (Y&T) and bassists Greg Smith (TYKETTO) and Aaron Leigh (Y&T).
Fan-filmed video of the performance can be seen below (courtesy of YouTube user "WILL TRAVEL FOR GIGS"). Note: The video is jumpy because the camera broke.
Hoekstra joined WHITESNAKE in 2014 following the departure of Doug Aldrich.
The Chicago native's résumé includes a long stint in NIGHT RANGER, as well as a gig as the touring guitarist for TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA.
Back in 2015, Hoekstra released the "Dying To Live" album from his side project JOEL HOEKSTRA'S 13.
Last November, Allen "slipped and fell" during rehearsals for the TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA tour. As a result, he missed the "TSO East" portion of the 2019 holiday trek, "Christmas Eve And Other Stories".
Back in July 2017, Allen was involved in a road accident that resulted in the death of his ADRENALINE MOB and TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA bandmate, bass player David Zablidowsky. Russell escaped with minor injuries and returned to the stage with TSO in November of that year. | +3

GREEN CARNATION To Release First New Album In 14 Years, 'Leaves Of Yesteryear', In May
Norwegian progressive metal act GREEN CARNATION will release "Leaves Of Yesteryear", its first collection of new music in 14 years, on May 8 via Season Of Mist. The cover artwork was created by Niklas Sundin and can be found below.
"The cover contains elements from the lyrics on the album, affected by the music and expressed through the cover artist Niklas Sundin's pencil," singer Kjetil Nordhus says. "Niklas put a lot of effort into going deep into this album, and came up with a few different sketches. We immediately fell for this one. It is rich in detail, is eye catching and, of course, has Niklas's signature, which we are very fond of."
Track listing:
01. Leaves Of Yesteryear (08:03)
02. Sentinels (05:42)
03. My Dark Reflections Of Life And Death (15:36)
04. Hounds (10:10)
05. Solitude (05:05)
Total: 0:44:36
After almost 10 years of total silence, GREEN CARNATION announced its comeback to the international metal scene for the 15th anniversary of their cult classic "Light Of Day, Day Of Darkness" in 2016.
GREEN CARNATION from Kristiansand, Norway, was founded as early as 1990. After founding member Tchort joined legends-to-be EMPEROR and continued in SATYRICON and EINHERJER, the band was laid to rest until its debut album, "A Journey To The End Of The Night", came out in 2000. Following a period with lineup changes, 2001 marked the release of the band's epic "Light Of Day, Day Of Darkness".
With their albums "A Blessing In Disguise" (2003) and "The Quiet Offspring" (2005), GREEN CARNATION shifted towards a more rock-orientated style, before they surprised everyone with the stripped-down record "Acoustic Verses" in 2006. What followed in the same year is perhaps one of the most spectacular DVD recordings metal history. The band played a show in the mountains, under a 30-meter-high dam. Only a year later, GREEN CARNATION disbanded.
After the successful return in 2016, the band continued to play shows in 2017 and 2018. In September 2019, the progressive metal act announced that it was going to record its first album in 14 years at DUB Studio with producer Endre Kirkesola (ABBATH, IN VAIN, SOLEFALD), who also helmed "Light Of Day, Day Of Darkness".
GREEN CARNATION is:
Kjetil Nordhus - vocals
Tchort - guitars
Bjørn Harstad - guitars
Stein Roger Sordal - bass
Kenneth Silden - keys
Jonathan Alejandro Perez - drums

ENSIFERUM Completes Recording New Album
Finnish folk metallers ENSIFERUM have completed recording their new album. According to bassist/vocalist Sami Hinkka, the mixing sessions for the follow-up to 2017's "Two Paths" will begin this coming Monday, February 17.
Hinkka says: "Just the raw tracks sound incredible and I personally think it's the best album ENSIFERUM has ever made. The way I see it, we managed to combine the best elements of the old school and the more recent elements of ENSIFERUM's music. I can't wait to hear the final mixes, and, most of all, to play these songs live!"
"Two Paths" was released in September 2017 via Metal Blade Records. Produced by Anssi Kippo, the disc was recorded on tape, for a true analog experience.
A year ago, Hinkka spoke to Australia's Double Kick about how ENSIFERUM goes about integrating folk music into metal. He said: "There are bands who literally have folk instruments onstage and they draw a lot of inspiration from the actual folklore and so on, but for ENSIFERUM, well, of course, the foundation is there when Markus Toivonen [guitar] started the band, when he founded it back in '95. He was very much inspired by Finnish and Scandinavian, Irish folk music, especially the melodies, because they had a really sad, longing vibe in it which fits metal music very well. I guess it's ENSIFERUM, it's more about that and of course, certain folk instruments are really pleasing to our ears. We get labeled as 'folk metal,' 'Viking metal,' whatever. [Laughs] 'Battle metal.' In the very essence, it's a melodic metal band with a little bit of roots in folk music. Of course, if you think about, the themes ENSIFERUM sings about — we always had these very strong, heroic, also fantasy-like world where we tell the stories."
ENSIFERUM has been active since 1995 and has released seven albums, including "Two Paths".
Hi folks! :)
The new Ensiferum album is recorded and the mixing starts on Monday. Just the raw tracks sound incredible...

Watch MEGADETH Perform 'Dread And The Fugitive Mind' For The First Time In Years
MEGADETH played the song "Dread And The Fugitive Mind" live for the first time in at least a decade and a half last night (Friday, February 14) in Prague, Czech Republic. Fan-filmed video footage of the performance can be seen below.
"Dread And The Fugitive Mind" originally appeared on MEGADETH's ninth studio album, "The World Needs A Hero", which came out in 2001. The LP entered the Billboard 200 chart at No. 16 on the Billboard 200. It was the last of two MEGADETH studio albums to feature drummer Jimmy DeGrasso and the only one to feature Al Pitrelli on lead guitar. It was also the last album to feature bassist David Ellefson until his return to MEGADETH in 2010.
MEGADETH is currently on the road in Europe as the support act for FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH. The trek kicked off on January 20 in Helsinki, Finland and will conclude on February 22 in Sofia, Bulgaria. The Helsinki concert was MEGADETH's first since frontman Dave Mustaine was diagnosed with throat cancer and its first live appearance in 15 months.
The 58-year-old MEGADETH leader revealed his cancer diagnosis last June on social media. Five months later, he gave an interview to Rolling Stone in which he said that he wasn't officially in remission but that he had finished the necessary treatment and had started rehabilitation. He also credited his faith for getting him through the ordeal.
MEGADETH and LAMB OF GOD and will join forces on a co-headline tour across North America this year, presented by SiriusXM. Support on the trek will come from TRIVIUM and IN FLAMES.
The 55-date tour will be split into two legs, the first of which kicks off June 12 at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, Virginia, and wraps August 1 at the Concord Pavilion in Concord, California. The second run launches October 2 at iTHINK Financial Amphitheater in West Palm Beach, Florida, and runs through November 13 at the Reno Events Center in Reno, Nevada.
MEGADETH has been working on its 16th album, which Ellefson said is due out early next year. | +10

Ex-METALLICA Bassist JASON NEWSTED And His CHOPHOUSE BAND Perform At 'Vernon Thompson & Friends' Event In Florida (Video)
Former METALLICA bassist Jason Newsted and his CHOPHOUSE BAND performed at the fifth annual "Vernon Thompson & Friends: Honoring The Legacy Of Sue Cunningham" on January 26 at the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Tequesta, Florida. Video footage of their rendition of the song "Hillbilly Grave", written by Verlon Thompson, Sue Cunningham and Frank Serio, can be seen below.
Named after Jason's four recording studio facilities around the U.S. and featuring a fluid roster of players, THE CHOPHOUSE BAND began in 1992 when Newsted founded The Chophouse Records Studio in San Francisco.
THE CHOPHOUSE BAND is led by Newsted, playing acoustic guitars and performing lead vocal, accompanied by
close friends/musicians of all walks and styles, sharing some great American songs from familiar and unfamiliar heroes.
Jason left METALLICA back in 2001, but was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, along with Lars Ulrich, James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett and the man who replaced him, bassist Robert Trujillo, in 2009.
Six years ago, Jason shelved NEWSTED, the heavy metal project he operated between 2012 and 2014, saying that it cost him "an awful lot of money — hundreds of thousands of dollars." He added: "I couldn't continue because the business is such a harsh thing now and so different than what I had known."

Watch DAVID LEE ROTH Perform In Columbia
VAN HALEN singer David Lee Roth played his sixth show as the support act for KISS this past Tuesday night (February 11) at Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, South Carolina. His 11-song set consisted primarily of his old band's biggest hits, plus "Just Like Paradise", which was the lead single from Roth's second solo album, 1988's "Skyscraper", as well as a couple of covers.
David's setlist was as follows:
01. You Really Got Me (The Kinks cover)
02. Beautiful Girls (VAN HALEN song)
03. Unchained (VAN HALEN song)
04. Panama (VAN HALEN song)
05. Jamie's Cryin' (VAN HALEN song)
06. Tobacco Road (John D. Loudermilk cover)
07. Runnin' With The Devil (VAN HALEN song)
08. Just Like Paradise
09. Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love (VAN HALEN song)
10. Just A Gigolo / I Ain't Got Nobody (Louis Prima cover)
11. Jump (VAN HALEN song)
Fan-filmed video footage of the concert can be seen below (courtesy of YouTube user "Greg Perry").
Roth told Van Halen News Desk that his band is recreating the sound of VAN HALEN's albums and his own solo work, not VAN HALEN's live performances.
"We do not sound like VAN HALEN live," he said. "You have not heard this. VAN HALEN live is lead guitar, bass, drums, sing. Here, we bring it the way a record brings it. To do that requires two or three guitars. We have five people hollerin'. It's a big rock sound. It's not [1985's] 'Just A Gigolo'. It's not brass band. That was a quickie vacation."
Roth's "Rocks Vegas" Las Vegas residency kicked off in early January and is scheduled to play six more dates in March at the House Of Blues. Backing the 65-year-old singer are lead guitarist Al Estrada from the VAN HALEN tribute band ERUPTION, rhythm guitarist Frankie Lindri, bassist Ryan Wheeler, keyboardist Danny Wagner and drummer Mike Mussleman.
This isn't the first time David has set up shop in Sin City. Back in 1995, Roth completed a Las Vegas engagement at Bally's Hotel and Casino and another short run at MGM Grand.
VAN HALEN has been inactive since it completed its U.S. tour in October 2015 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California.
Roth recently launched Ink The Original, a skin-care line specifically made to preserve, protect, and highlight tattoos and keep them from fading. | +1

Former BLACK VEIL BRIDES Bassist ASHLEY PURDY Releases Music Video For New Solo Single 'King For A Day'
Former BLACK VEIL BRIDES bassist Ashley Purdy has released the official music video for his new single, "King For A Day". Purdy wrote and produced the song, and also directed the clip, which can be seen below.
Purdy's surprise departure from BLACK VEIL BRIDES came last November. His exit from the group took place not long after he spent time in a psychiatric hospital to undergo intensive grief counseling and therapy from a few recent deaths and tragedies.
Purdy told Sonic Perspectives about the split: "What sucks was the timing of it all. They didn't have anything to do with each other. There are legal aspects of what I can say about the departure.
"Fans of the band are continually coming up to me, asking why did I leave the band. Technically, I didn't leave; I'm just not in the band anymore. I have to talk in those terms right now.
"BLACK VEIL BRIDES is a corporate business, and there are legal rules," he explained. "It's like a divorce, and we are working it all out.
"People can make their own assessments about things, but when you make a record, don't tour for two years, only to make another record, don't tour for two more years, the morale of the band starts to go away. The band is a job, and it's how you pay your bills and put food on the table. When it doesn't happen, you have to start looking for other things to do."
Purdy also offered an update on his emotional and physical well-being, saying: "It just had to take its course, but at least I was strong enough to know I needed to seek help. I was trying to be a tough guy and deal with it on my own until one day I broke. I went to a physician to get some meds after telling him my story, and he was, like, 'No, you need more treatment.' I was admitted to a psychiatric hospital for a week to get medicine, therapy, and grief counseling. At the group sessions, I heard other people's stories and knew I wasn't alone. The oddest thing was a psychic medium who I didn't know, reached out to me through a friend of a friend to give me a message from the people who passed into the afterlife. What the medium told me was very believable, as nobody would have known the level of details they shared. Strangely, hearing that they were okay helped me. This whole thing changed my perspective and I'm living a different way. I'm an open book now. There is nothing I won't say or do or help someone. It's part of life, and I'm accepting of it."
Just one week after his split with BLACK VEIL BRIDES, Purdy was reportedly arrested by Nashville police after being found unresponsive behind the wheel of his vehicle, with the engine running. He was eventually awakened by the officers, who placed him in the rear of their patrol vehicle where he "urinated all over the back seat of the patrol vehicle" on the way to the hospital, and threatened officers when they discovered it, according to Scoop Nashville.
In November, BLACK VEIL BRIDES announced the addition of bassist Lonny Eagleton to the group's ranks. Eagleton previously played with BLACK VEIL BRIDES singer Andy Biersack (a.k.a. Andy Black) on his solo tour.
Purdy recently released another new solo song called "Nowhere". | 0

Watch VIXEN Perform On MONSTERS OF ROCK Cruise
Fan-Filmed video footage of VIXEN's February 12 performance aboard this year's Monsters Of Rock cruise, which sailed from Fort Lauderdale to Belize, can be seen below (courtesy of YouTube user "WILL TRAVEL FOR GIGS").
In January 2019, VIXEN recruited FEMME FATALE's Lorraine Lewis as its new lead singer following the departure of Janet Gardner.
Lewis had already performed with VIXEN in March 2018 in Durant, Oklahoma while Gardner was recovering from surgery.
Prior to Lewis's addition to VIXEN, Roxy Petrucci (drums), Share Ross (bass) and Brittany Denaro (guitar) vowed to "expand upon the VIXEN legacy while remaining true to our musical roots."
Speaking to the "Music Mania" podcast last summer, Lorraine stated about her addition to VIXEN: "First of all, I'm so honored and excited to be a part of VIXEN. They are a staple in rock and roll and metal and chicks that rock. I'm super honored to be with them and to be even asked to step in was a great honor. I'm hoping that I'm doing a good job and hoping I'm doing the songs justice, et cetera. I am loving being with the girls. I have history with the girls, for sure. I go way back with them. We were all getting record deals around the same time back from the Sunset Strip days. It's just amazing to go full circle, then be able to hang out with these girls 30-plus years later. I feel like it's a big slumber party every time we're together. It's super fun."
Asked whether it was "easy" for her to step in and replace original frontwoman Janet Gardner, Lorraine said: "As far as I know, VIXEN being Share and Roxy at this point, the original members, they never want it to end. They were definitely looking to the future and, 'Okay, what are we going to do if Janet bails? If Janet decides to do something different?' It was kind of a teaser for me, doing the Oklahoma show [in 2018]. I really enjoyed it so much. It was kind of one of those things where it was too weeks in the making. They called me two weeks before they went on the Monsters Of Rock cruise 2018 and said, 'Hey, Janet might not be doing this show. Would you be able to do it with us?' Because she had the aneurysm. I said 'Look, let me look at the material. I definitely want to help you guys out.'"
She continued: "Janet definitely sings a lot higher than I do naturally. Janet has got an angelic voice. I'm a little bit lower vocally and a little bit raspy, and just a little bit different kind of a singer. I was a little nervous, to tell you the truth. I was, like, 'Oh dang. How am I going to take over for Janet Gardner?' I really did my homework. I really spent a lot of time with the songs because I really wanted to do the best job that I could do. I learned them all and did the Oklahoma show, and all in all with no rehearsals or anything, it came off without a hitch. That was the beginning; that kind of set the groundwork for the possibility of working together in the future. I wasn't really thinking that anything more was going to come out of it. I just thought, 'This is just a one-off and that's it.' Then when they contacted me in January and said, 'It looks like Janet might be leaving. What do you think about joining VIXEN?' Number one, I was over-the-moon excited, then nervous as all hell. Because I was, like, again I'm not Janet Gardner. I'm Lorraine. I know how to sing like Lorraine. I definitely do my best to honor the songs and do my best to sound, give the songs Janet's flavor, but it's still Lorraine singing Janet Gardner. That's just the truth. I know that I'm doing the best job that I can. I hope the fans love what I'm doing. Then we're looking to get some new music together so that's a merger of the two camps, basically FEMME FATALE and VIXEN and adding Britt [Denaro, guitar]. We're going to be a whole different machine once that starts as well, still honoring the VIXEN sound."
Gardner, who released her debut self-titled solo album in 2017, broke the news of her exit from the group on January 16, 2019.
Gardner, Petrucci and Ross are considered to be part of VIXEN's classic lineup, along with founding guitarist Jan Kuehnemund, who died of cancer in October 2013.
Gardner contributed lead vocals to VIXEN's most commercially successful studio albums — "Vixen" (1988), "Rev It Up" (1990) and "Tangerine" (1998) — as well as the group's latest release, 2018's live album "Live Fire". | +3

BLACK SWAN Feat. JEFF PILSON, ROBIN MCAULEY, REB BEACH And MATT STARR: 'Make It There' Video
Vocalist Robin McAuley (MCAULEY SCHENKER GROUP), guitarist Reb Beach (WINGER, WHITESNAKE), bassist Jeff Pilson (FOREIGNER, THE END MACHINE, ex-DOKKEN), and drummer Matt Starr (ACE FREHLEY, MR. BIG) have joined forces in BLACK SWAN, a new band project signed to Frontiers Music Srl. Their debut album, "Shake The World", is a delightful romp of powerful hard rock that is not simply the sum of its parts, but a powerful rock and roll machine. It was released on February 14 on CD, LP and digital formats.
The official music video for the third single from "Shake The World", a track called "Make It There", can be seen below. The clip was once again directed by Èric Boadella.
The genesis of BLACK SWAN was sparked by a conversation between Pilson and Frontiers president and head of A&R, Serafino Perugino, who wanted a project that would not only showcase McAuley's vocal prowess, but have a mighty musical backbone to stand skyscraper tall behind him. Thus, the initial seeds were planted and Pilson ran with it from there. "Shake The World" was tracked at Pilson's home studio in Los Angeles and is a showcase of both the musical talents of the instrumental players in the band as well as McAuley's powerful voice. The four members got BLACK SWAN off the ground by exchanging ideas back and forth and then bringing all the songs together. The final result is something fresh, very heavy, but still intensely melodic and it's certainly not DOKKEN, nor WINGER, nor MSG, or some combination thereof, but its own unique animal. As an example, one of the songs was written by Pilson right after seeing the QUEEN movie "Bohemian Rhapsody". "I came home and I sat down at the grand piano and pretty much wrote exactly the chorus that we have, just coming straight [from] the movie. It is a bit QUEEN-like."
Continues Pilson, "It's amazing, incredible music. Wait until you hear everybody's playing and singing. It's beyond — way beyond."
Adds McAuley, "This is really exciting for me to read: BLACK SWAN announces the release of 'Shake The World', the first offering from the band on the Frontiers label.' I've known Jeff for some thirty years and we have a history of performing together on MSG 'Unplugged', in addition to being great friends, musically and socially. When he asked me to do this and collaborate with Reb, I didn't have to think too long with my response. Initially he wasn't going to play bass on this, but Reb and myself soon changed his mind, lol!!! Bringing Matt into the mix was a great decision. His powerful energy and style is unmistakable on this album. Overall, it is a very powerful blend of styles and writing. Reb is truly an amazing guitarist and songwriter. Jeff captured my vocals the way I like to sound. Probably the best vocal sound I've had... ever!!!! Such a great and creative studio experience for me. This is kick-ass, powerful music on an album full of great songs. If you love strong melodies and BIG choruses, BLACK SWAN won't disappoint!! It's time… 'SHAKE THE WORLD'!!!"
Beach says: "When Jeff approached me to do this, I was so excited because I loved writing 'Erase The Slate' with him for DOKKEN. I also played in the band with Jeff for four years, and we worked so well together, writing and live too. He is as good as it gets when it comes to a rock musician, a great songwriter and an absolute joy to work with. I came in with riffs, Jeff arranged them into a song by adding his own parts, and then Robin wrote the lyrics, and knocked it out of the park with the vocals. I am pretty particular about singers, and Robin's voice is so slammin' that I wouldn't want anyone else. Matt came in with his huge drum sound, and we had a great sounding band. Very exciting stuff!!"
"Shake the World" track listing:
01. Shake The World
02. Big Disaster
03. Johnny Came Marching
04. Immortal Souls
05. Make It There
06. She's On To Us
07. The Rock That Rolled Away
08. Long Road To Nowhere
09. Sacred Place
10. Unless We Change
11. Divided/United | +4 | |

MR. BUNGLE: 4K Video Of Entire San Francisco Concert
Shayne Stacy of SacramentoMusicArchive.com has uploaded 4K video footage of MR. BUNGLE's entire February 8 concert at the Warfield in San Francisco, California. Check it out below.
The San Francisco concert took place three days after MR. BUNGLE played its first show in close to 20 years at the Fonda Theater in Los Angeles, California. Both gigs saw the Eureka-born band performing its 1986 demo in its entirety, and marked the first time these songs have been played live in over 30 years.
MR. BUNGLE's 2020 lineup consists of original members Trevor Dunn, Mike Patton and Trey Spruance, along with Scott Ian (ANTHRAX, S.O.D.) and Dave Lombardo (DEAD CROSS, SLAYER, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES).
When the MR. BUNGLE reunion was first announced last year, Spruance said: "Ever since Trevor hatched 'The Raging Wrath Of The Easter Bunny v.2' idea a few years back, Patton, Lombardo, he and I had each been incubating some idea of that egg. Lombardo called me one day and asked me to make some guitar demos so he could learn the songs. He had this generous idea to surprise the other guys with being totally ready to go with the tunes. It just so happened that I was in Eureka at the time. So, I found myself revisiting all of those riffs in the same goddamned town and in the same goddamned house where I recorded all the original guitars on that demo 33 years earlier. There was something about actually physically working out the mania of those riffs again at Dave Lombardo's request, in that environment — it just split my head open. It wasn't long before the train of destiny had picked up too much speed for any of us to jump off."
Added Dunn: "When we recorded that demo, we were 16 and 17 years old and we were absolutely serious about the music. At the time, we were living the deluge of '80s metal and absorbing every riff and every drum fill from every known band from Denmark to San Francisco. The recording and playing were amateurish (save for Trey's video-game-solos) but the schooled composition and spirit were solid. I always felt like this music held its own and deserved to be presented in a clearer and more defined package even if it meant being 33 years later."
Said Patton: "I remember writing riffs for this cassette in my parent's garage, with no heat, so I recorded in a sleeping bag for analog warmth, playing a one-stringed acoustic guitar that was piped into a ghetto blaster. Thank god I had Trevor and Trey to help decipher my rotten riffs into something intelligible!"
Commented Ian: "When Mike hit me up about this, my brain thought he was asking me if I wanted to come to a show, him knowing I am a HUGE BUNGLE fan. When I realized he actually meant for me to play guitar with them, it broke my brain; I was a giggly drooling mess. Somehow I pecked out Y E S on my keyboard and holy crap I'm playing in MR. BUNGLE. Seriously, it's an honor and a privilege to get to play with my favorite 'Mr.' band of all time."
Said Lombardo: "I don't know what was in the water in Eureka, California, but it certainly wasn't clean. This is going to be a ridiculously, insane band to play with and I am honored to have been asked to join the wrath."
The idea that Dunn, Patton and Spruance are being joined by their early musical heroes is not lost on the musicians.
Said Dunn: "They are a significant percentage of the 'Big Four,' all of which had a major impact on us. Aside from their obvious skills and — for crying out loud, INVENTION of this genre — there's nothing like being in a band with those whom which you have rapport. If we are going back to the source with this stuff we might as well go ALL THE WAY back."
Added Patton: "To have Scott and Dave with us on this suicide mission is more than an honor. THEY are a big part of the reason we wrote this stuff in the first place, and to realize it 30+ years later with these maestros is an absolute miracle… we can finally play this teenage nonsense correctly! A total catharsis for us."
Commented Spruance: "At our very first show, at the Bayside Grange Hall, Nov. 30, 1985, we played SLAYER's 'Chemical Warfare' and a S.O.D. cover. I mean, are you kidding?? We WORSHIPPED those guys! And now they're gonna PLAY in our band?" | +1

CORROSION OF CONFORMITY's REED MULLIN: Video Tribute From Raleigh Memorial Posted Online
A video tribute that was shown at the memorial for CORROSION OF CONFORMITY drummer Reed Mullin can be seen below. The "Remembering Reed Mullin" event was held on February 9 at the Lincoln Theatre in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Mullin died on January 27 at the age of 53. Two days later, the remaining members of CORROSION OF CONFORMITY paid tribute to their drummer, writing in a social media message: "A badass drummer: Reed could play all of the metal stuff, cymbal grabs, proto blast beats with only one bass pedal. He could cop one hundred different styles and reference them in his own way. Everything from Earl Hudson and Clive Burr to Neil Peart (RIP) to Mitch Mitchell and Bill Ward. From John Bonham to Phil Taylor and Nicko McBrain. All the while he was creating his own thing, odd times and polyrhythms played nonchalantly, powerful, simple, deliberate sections, all of the possibilities were in fact possible but utilized thoughtfully, in the proper place, for the proper effect, as the song demanded. Musically speaking, what more could you ask for?"
Mullin, who co-founded CORROSION OF CONFORMITY in 1982 as a hardcore punk act alongside bassist Mike Dean and guitarist Woody Weatherman, had missed a number of shows in the past four years due to a variety of health issues, including an alcohol-related seizure he suffered back in June 2016.
Last summer, Dean said that Mullin needed "to take care of himself and get his shit together" before rejoining the band. "And if that happens, the door's open for him," Mike told the "Talk Toomey" podcast. "And if it doesn't, well, that's how it is. People need to wanna help themselves. You can't just push them to get help — they've gotta wanna help themselves."
When Mullin suffered his alcohol-related seizure four years ago, Dean said in a statement that the episode had been "preceded by prolonged, extreme and unhealthy levels of alcohol consumption, not taking care of himself and who knows what else." Mike went on to say that he and his bandmates would "not enable Reed to continue killing himself on our watch." | +1

HANSI KURSCH On New BLIND GUARDIAN Album – “More Progressive Than People Probably Would Expect”
Jimmy Kay from Canada’s The Metal Voice spoke to Hansi Kursch about the new Demon & Wizards record and what to expect from Blind Guardian.
When asked about the musical direction of the new Demons & Wizards album 3:
"The new album is more defined. I would say the Demons & Wizards first two albums have been very strong and they showcased the direction and we established a style apart from what Blind Guardian and Iced Earth were doing over all these years. On this new album there is a strong atmospheric element almost in every song, there is a lot of diversity, we go from alternative sounding songs like, 'Invincible' for example to classic rock songs like 'Children Of Cain' or the intense music like the song 'Diabolic'. Demons & Wizards covers everything from almost folk like songs, to classic rock music of the ‘70s up to almost intense thrash metal. I have to say there is a high variety of different sounding songs on the album, all killer, no fillers. There's a lot of passion on this album and whatever people liked on the first two album with more variety. On the new album we have a song like 'Timeless Spirit' which almost goes into a Pink Floyd direction and another song like 'Children Of Cain' which goes into a doomy Black Sabbath melancholic directions."
When asked if the new album is a lot darker than the first two albums:
"Jon (Schaffer, guitarist) and I feel the album delivers a glimpse of hope so it's not so dark as it appears to people, you're not the first one saying that maybe that's also related to the album cover which is related to the song Diabolic which deals with the fall of Lucifer or the events after the fall of Lucifer when he's joining forces with Beelzebub and Satan to establish other war against heaven. There is a lot of darkness also in the songs but I said I also feel that there’s always that light at the end of the tunnel."
When asked about the new Blind Guardian album:
“We stopped the first pre-production Blind Guardian yesterday but we will continue in March 2020 and then from April to October / November we will finish the Blind Guardian album. It's another amazing ride the album is more progressive then people probably would expect but it's typical Blind Guardian. When we spoke last time I'd probably not even have been aware of it because I was of the opinion that there still is a lot of orchestration. Over the last two months I realized it's far less than I thought but as I mentioned it goes more into a progressive direction that is the case they are like three speed thrash metal songs on there and the rest is more on the complex side."
The most ambitious project in the metal history of Blind Guardian, Legacy Of The Dark Lands, is out now. The idea of recording an orchestral album originally formed in the minds of the two leading lights of the Blind Guardian universe - guitarist André Olbrich and singer Hansi Kürsch - during the 1990's when Blind Guardian started to use orchestral elements to enhance their opulent sound. The monumental project started to take shape over recent years, and mirroring its epic sound cascades, the lyrical concept was developed. To create the concept, André and Hansi worked alongside German bestselling author Markus Heitz, whose latest novel Die dunklen Lande was released on March 1, 2019.
Kürsch recently spoke with Dead Rhetoric about the project. Following is an excerpt from the interview.
Dead Rhetoric: This was done for over a 20 year span – what sort of feeling does it finally coming out give you?
Kürsch: "I’m relieved, and I’m just happy that we have come to the point where everyone involved – it’s ready for people to listen to it. I’m overwhelmed still by the amount of work, but I’m more than just proud to have accomplished it and having the chance to give it to the people. That people will have a chance to listen to it – that’s a relief! Over the years, we’ve been talking about that so many times. We’ve had to describe what it would sound like, and what it would be about, musically. I could literally see the question marks over the heads of people who never really understood what we were trying to say. If you haven’t listened to it, it’s very difficult to get an idea of what we are talking about. But once you have listened to it, you just figure, 'It makes sense, what the guys have spoken about for twenty years now.'"
Dead Rhetoric: Given the time involved, do you feel that you were able to go back and tweak things from a technological aspect as you progressed?
Kürsch: "Actually, it’s been the opposite. We’ve really paid tribute to every original intention. That was very important to us. If you could listen to what we did to 'This Storm' or 'Dark Cloud’s Rising' in the beginning, you would figure that the original idea is very much present nowadays in the final recording. But of course, we used the technology over the years to maintain the artificial keyboard quality of the orchestra first, and then improved it much further when working with a real orchestra. Again, if you really listen back to the beginning, you can hear how close it is still to what the final recording is like.
The only difference is that everything feels more on-spot with this album, and we improved the orchestra as much we could to use it as a substitute for the metal band. I would say 'mission accomplished.' We did pre-productions ten years ago, and they were almost identical to what you are listening to now. The curse of the pre-production like this is that you have to top it when recording. That’s one of the reasons the production took so long at the very end."

SOILWORK To Release Two New Singles This Year
SOILWORK singer Björn "Speed" Strid has told United Rock Nations in a new interview that fans can expect to hear some fresh music from his band in 2020. "We'll do a few shows [with SOILWORK], but this year is pretty much gonna be all about [Strid's other band] THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA, and then next year [2021] is gonna be about SOILWORK," he said (hear audio below). "[I] try to divide, or separate, the album cycles a little bit, or touring cycles, if you will. But there will be some stuff — some shows and some singles that we're gonna release as well, so people can look forward to that… We released a single in [October] last year. There's gonna be two more this year."
Last fall, SOILWORK released a brand new song called "Feverish". The track was made available digitally along with a new version of "Stålfågel", featuring ARCH ENEMY singer Alissa White-Gluz.
At the time of the "Feverish" release, it was announced that SOILWORK would issue "The Feverish Trinity" over the coming months, a trilogy of songs with accompanying videos that, according to the band, will "celebrate the Babylonian Death Goddesses that once made the world a more Feverish and exciting place."
SOILWORK's eleventh studio album, "Verkligheten", was released in January 2019 via Nuclear Blast. The first-edition digipack, as well as the vinyl versions, also contained the exclusive "Underworld" EP, containing four more songs. The digipack version also featured special artwork with lavish foil print.
"Verkligheten" was SOILWORK's first to feature drummer Bastian Thusgaard, who replaced Dirk Verbeuren in 2016.
THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA will release its new album, "Aeromantic", on February 28 via Nuclear Blast. | +3

Listen To New MACHINE HEAD Song 'Circle The Drain'
MACHINE HEAD has just released a new standalone single called "Circle The Drain". The track, which features guest drumming by Navene Koperweis (ENTHEOS, WHITECHAPEL, ANIMALS AS LEADERS, ANIMOSITY), can be streamed below. The song was once again produced by guitarist/vocalist Robb Flynn and co-produced by Zach Ohren (ALL SHALL PERISH, SUICIDE SILENCE) at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, California. Joel Wanasek (ATTILLA, BLOODLINE) once again handled post-production duties, while Russ Russell (AT THE GATES, THE WILDHEARTS, DIMMU BORGIR) handled the beefy, guitar-heavy song mix at Parlour Studios in the U.K. Finally, the track was mastered by the same gentleman who mastered "Through The Ashes Of Empires", Greg Grimaldi at Oasis Mastering. Single art was created by Christian Sampson based on his photography project around mental disorders. Sampson compiled a list of 12 mental disorders, ranging from depression to schizophrenia to insomnia. The purposefully dark visuals are emotively powerful in their narration of the mental illness and image chosen for the single art is called "Panic".
Flynn describes "Circle The Drain" as the anti-Valentine's Day song.
"The song is inspired by an acquaintance of mine who returned from Afghanistan only to have his relationship fall apart with his girl," he says. "She had messed around on him, then got paranoid about him messing around on her, and drove him crazy. We had a conversation on Valentine's Day and he said to me, 'They were just circling the drain.' … The phrase struck me. A few days later I incorporated it into the song I'd been working on.
"It was a strange parallel with my life at the time, having recently had two bandmembers quit, and even more bizarrely, two long-time couple friends of my wife and I, also divorce. It was break-up season, and it played out with friends taking sides, people not being invited to certain events anymore, social and emotional pressure, and all the typical stuff that happens when a relationship goes bad.
"Watching this guy pull through it helped me pull through my own upheaval. The lyrics to 'Circle The Drain' came out of that frustrating time. It's a sad song about relationships gone bad, but accepting that it's over, and making yourself move on. It's written in a more metaphorical tone, as I didn't want it to be about my life, but to be about anybody's life who may be going through a rough time. It may not be a song that connects with everyone, especially those in a solid relationship, but if the day ever comes when your life goes awry, this song will be a lifeline for you, something to help pull you up out of that dark place.
"The irony that he and I had the original conversation on Valentine's Day, and are now releasing it on Valentine's Day isn’t lost on me. It really is the anti-Valentine's Day song."
"Circle The Drain" is the first new MACHINE HEAD song since "Do Or Die", which came out last October and was described by some fans and media outlets as a "diss" track aimed at MACHINE HEAD's detractors, in particular those who have been critical of the band's last album, 2018's "Catharsis".
Speaking about MACHINE HEAD's plans to put out new music, Flynn told "Robb's MetalWorks": "I'm always writing. I just kind of am writing. I think what the plan, going forward, is we're gonna write and then record. Rather than focus on an album every three years, which is kind of the pattern we've gotten into — about every three to four years, we drop a record — to just have a steady stream of standalone singles. And then some of those singles may end up on the next record, along with probably five or six other new songs, or they may not — we're still trying to figure it out.
"I love how the music industry has changed," he continued. "I love the power of the digital stuff and the ease of getting it out there to the fans. And I think we're just gonna keep doing that, man. I love the idea of dropping a new song every three or four months, rather than an album every three or four years. So we're gonna keep on doing that, and I'm excited about it."
According to Flynn, the fan response to "Do Or Die" was "great." He said: "It's already at over a million streams on Spotify. We dropped it out of nowhere — no announcement; no anything. Just, like, 'Here you go.' And this isn't fucking getting played on the radio or anything. So it was really cool, man. And I'm excited to be able to do more of that. And the fans seem to be excited about that too."
Last fall, MACHINE HEAD completed the first European leg of its 25th-anniversary tour for the band's classic debut, "Burn My Eyes". Each show on the trek consisted of two parts: part one saw Flynn and bassist Jared MacEachern performing alongside new recruits, Polish guitarist Wacław "Vogg" Kiełtyka (DECAPITATED) and British drummer Matt Alston (DEVILMENT, EASTERN FRONT); while part two featured "Burn My Eyes" played in its entirety for the first time ever, with original drummer Chris Kontos and guitarist Logan Mader joining in.
Flynn said that he has worked with both Mader and Kontos on some new MACHINE HEAD music. "Logan and I have already collaborated on a new song," he revealed. "I think that's another thing that's killer about it. Rather than the pressure of a record, to be able to do these standalone things and just see how it goes.
"I don't know where the fuck it's gonna go," he continued. "Nobody can look into the crystal ball. I just wanna keep on writing music and dropping music. Music's been such a powerful force in my life. And if these guys wanna write music, let's do it. Let's see what comes of it and see where it goes. And get lost — get lost in the music."
Asked about the musical direction of the new MACHINE HEAD material, Flynn said: "It's gonna be MACHINE HEAD. It's always gonna have that heaviness, it's always gonna have that vibe. It's gonna go everywhere. Some songs could be like 'Darkness Within'; some songs could be like fucking 'Aesthetics Of Hate'. It's everywhere in between."
The North American leg of the "Burn My Eyes" 25th-anniversary tour kicked off in Phoenix on January 16 and will continue across Chicago and Denver, wrapping up at the legendary Fox Theater in Oakland, California on February 21 and House Of Blues in Anaheim, California on February 22.

OUTLAWS Release "Rattlesnake Road" Single; Lyric Video Streaming
Southern rock icons, Outlaws, have released a new single and lyric video, "Rattlesnake Road". The song is taken from the forthcoming studio album, Dixie Highway. You can watch the lyric video below:
The Dixie Highway originally connected Chicago to Miami - the first vital thoroughfare between the Midwest and the South - before eventually being replaced in the late 1920s by the U.S. Highway system. And while fragments of the original road still exist in Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and Ohio, it remains a route that carries echoes of its past as well as being an enduring symbol of American discovery, fortitude and pride. And on their new album Dixie Highway, Outlaws take fans on what is literally and figuratively the ride of a lifetime.
For more than 45 years, the Outlaws have flown the Southern Rock banner like no other band in the land. Known for their unique triple-guitar rock attack and three-part country harmonies, the Tampa-born group’s first three albums on Arista - featuring hits like "There Goes Another Love Song", "Green Grass & High Tides", "Knoxville Girl" and "Freeborn Man" - became Southern Rock milestones, while relentless tours with peers like The Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Marshall Tucker Band and The Charlie Daniels Band - as well as performing alongside The Who, Eagles and The Rolling Stones - solidified the reputation of ‘The Florida Guitar Army’ as genre legends.
And since the release of their 2012 comeback album It’s About Pride and acclaimed 2016 double album Legacy Live, the Outlaws - led by Henry Paul and co-founder/drummer Monte Yoho along with Randy Threet (bass, vocals), Steve Grisham (guitars, vocals), Dave Robbins (keyboards, vocals), Dale Oliver (guitars, vocals), Jaran Sorenson (drums) and guest guitarist Billy Crain - have not only re-emerged as what fans call ‘Southern Rock’s Last Band Standing’, but as a dedicated band of brothers who still write, play and perform with the skill, grit and fire of acts a fraction of their age.
With the release of Dixie Highway, the Outlaws once again blaze a route that is as familiar to the faithful as it is unflinching in its mission. “I want the fans to see the band’s growth, to recognize the quality of the music,” says Henry Paul. “It’s focused on where we come from, where we’re headed and how much fun we’re still having on the ride.” And from the state-of-the-art production to its throwback double-album gatefold vinyl, Dixie Highway remains a route whose legacy has a sound and spirit all its own. “We wrote and recorded this album to reinforce the notion that the Outlaws still matter,” Henry Paul says, “and that Southern Rock will always matter. It’s a message we’re proud to bring into the 21st century.”
Dixie Highway will be released through SPV/Steamhammer on February 28 as CD DigiPak, 2LP version, download and stream. Pre-order here.

SEVEN SPIRES Release Official Music Video For "Bury You"; Emerald Seas Album Out Now
American metal quartet, Seven Spires, have released a video for "Bury You", a track from their sophomore album, Emerald Seas, out now via Frontiers Music Srl. Watch the clip below, and order the album here.
Emerald Seas is a theatrical concept album, and is the prequel to the story of their debut full-length, Solveig. The album follows a lone sea captain on their quest for eternal life while being hunted by an ancient beast and struggling with loneliness, sacrifice, alcoholism, and the unexpected weight that comes with achieving one’s goals. Seven Spires’ signature blend of melancholic beauty and emotional brutality on Emerald Seas is the sonic manifestation of the silent emptiness that chills one's insides when staring across bleak, open waters.
The band explains the influences behind the album, “Musically, Emerald Seas is influenced by our usual mix of melodic and extreme metal favorites and Hans Zimmer worship. We immersed ourselves deeply in 19th Century Romantic music and art while writing this record, and I like to think some traits from that era are present as a result. It's highly emotional; sweet and melodic at times, and quite dark and brutal at others, especially when dealing with themes like losing one's fear of death.”
The band, as with their debut, collaborated with Sascha Paeth (Avantasia, Kamelot, Epica, etc), who mixed and mastered the album. Incidentally, Adrienne Cowan was handpicked by Paeth to front his new band, Sascha Paeth’s Masters of Ceremony, and she is also one of the touring vocalists for the hugely popular Avantasia.
“Touring with Avantasia and Sascha Paeth's Masters of Ceremony has mostly influenced my live singing and performance style,” explains Cowan. “It has been an incredibly inspiring experience to be a part of these groups where everyone is a long-standing master of their craft and of their artistic selves.”
Seven Spires will tour extensively behind Emerald Seas. Tours with Insomnium and Omnium Gatherum and Amaranthe and Battle Beast, respectively, have already been announced. Find the band's tour itinerary here.
Seven Spires met while studying at the world renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, so we need not spend much time going on about their musical capabilities, but needless to say, the band’s musicianship is in keeping with the metal tradition of tirelessly working to be the best at your craft. Singer Adrienne Cowan is a true talent, with vocals ranging from the beautiful to the demonic, while her bandmates Jack Kosto (guitar), Peter de Reyna (bass), and Chris Dovas (drums) weave intricate musical tales to accompany the lyrical tales presented here.
Following a successful crowdfunding campaign and self-release of their debut album Solveig, Seven Spires performed extensively in the US and Canada and at festivals such as MetalDays, 70000 Tons Of Metal, and ProgPower USA.
Seven Spires continue Frontiers' tradition of identifying and signing the most promising young talents to ensure that the future of hard rock and metal music is in good hands.

As Randy George explains: “After the Similitude tour, expectations were really high, and we had more people coming to these shows than ever before. People were really excited to see it, so we had to make sure that we delivered.”
Performing The Great Adventure flawlessly and in its entirety 47 times in 2019, Neal Morse (vocals, keyboards and guitars), Mike Portnoy (drums, vocals and audience cheerleading), Randy George (bass), Bill Hubauer (keyboards and vocals) and Eric Gillette (guitars and vocals) brought audiences to their feet night after exhilarating night: “The tour delivered every night. We never got tired of playing it, and it always paid off”, says George.
One of the countries was the Czech Republic, and it was there in Brno that the band chose to film The Great Adventour 2019 - Live In Brno, the definitive record of the tour, as George explains: “This was our first time playing in the Czech Republic and this venue had a different look and vibe: the audience also turned out to be very energetic. They loved it!”
The Great Adventour 2019 - Live In Brno shows The Neal Morse Band at the very height of their powers: extraordinary, passionate, intense and intricate rock music played to perfection by five masters of their craft, backed by dramatic video illustrations by Christian Rios.

As very special guest they will bring the neo-folk one-man act Rome to round up the tour package.
Comments Primordial singer A.A. Nemtheanga: "With great pleasure we can announce a further chapter to the Heathen Crusade Legacy with our brothers from Moonsorrow. Some different cities and different countries we have never brought the Crusaders to! We will be playing a set of songs from the wilderness in our catalogue. SHARDS OF HUMANITY To Release Cold Logic Album In April; "Moths Of Zeta" Track Streaming
Memphis-based death/thrash metal band, Shards Of Humanity, will unleash their Cold Logic album on April 13 via Unspeakable Axe Records. The band’s second album is an evolved, yet unpretentious display of death metal with the with understated intricacy and the straight-ahead barbarity of thrash in its heart. The album track “Moths Of Zeta” can be heard below.
Shards Of Humanity swam against the tide with the 2014 release of their debut, Fractured Frequencies. That album was a Death-inspired blast of thrashy riffs, blazing tempos and glass-gargling vocals. Instead of leaning into early, primitive Death, as many bands did (and have done since, e.g. Gruesome), Shards Of Humanity looked to the middle period of the band for influence, hammering strands of Human and Symbolic into new, warped shapes.
Cold Logic sees the band pushing every dimension harder than ever. Vocals are hoarse howls of torment; guitars are bigger and bolder, but without the raw edges sanded off. With Pestilence-like thrash riffing and even an Atheist-reminiscent free jazz freakout, this is an album not at all interested in pretending to be primitive, yet still very much connected to the genre's beating, blood-drenched heart.
Cold Logic will be available on CD and digital platforms from Unspeakable Axe Records.

"Cosmic Shield"
"Martyr's Gaze"
"I’ve Seen Death"

WE SELL THE DEAD Featuring IN FLAMES, FIREWIND, ENGEL Members Offer Black Sheep Album Preview; Audio
We Sell The Dead, the band around Niclas Engelin (In Flames, Engel) and Drömriket’s Jonas Slättung, return with a new album, Black Sleep, out on February 21 via earMUSIC. A full album preview can be found below.
You may ask: what does the band name - We Sell The Dead - mean? Do they actually sell the dead? No, not literally. What they sell is more of an idea, a concept of death and the dead as being an integral part of the life of the living. All of that is packed into a riveting mix of dark and raw heavy metal that carries the catchiness of true hit material. Their sophomore album, Black Sleep, will be released on February 21 via earMUSIC.
We Sell The Dead explain: “The term Black Sleep is, of course, a metaphor for death. ‘Eternal sleep’ is a somewhat more frequently used one, but we wanted an expression that sounded sinister and soft, both at the same time. Because it is a quite beautiful thing, this short life of ours. Blink and it’s over. And, most importantly, death is not the enemy. Indifference and life without meaning is. We are all going to die, eventually, all of us, sometime sooner or later. Life isn’t about sitting and waiting for that to happen, life is about taking what you’ve got and squeeze the most out of it.”
The band started in 2016 as an idea by Niclas Engelin (In Flames,Engel) and Jonas Slättung (Drömriket). They were quickly joined by their old friend Apollo Papathanasio - the frontman for Firewind and Spiritual Beggars - on vocals. Gas Lipstick, drummer for the first album and former member of HIM was replaced by Engel drummer Oscar Nilsson, due to logistical circumstances. In addition, Petter Olsson joins the band as a full-time member on keys and thereby perfectly rounds up the quintet.

SABATON Share Official Lyric Video For "The Attack Of The Dead Men"
Sabaton have released an official lyric video for "The Attack Of The Dead Men", a track from their album, The Great War. Watch the clip below.
Historic fact: During the Battle of Osowiec Fortress in 1915, German Field Marshal Paul Von Hindenburg ordered the bombardment of the fortress with an artillery barrage of chlorine gas to eradicate the 900 Russian defenders. After the bombardment 7,000 German soldiers advanced upon the fortress expecting little to no resistance when 100 disfigured Russians, coughing up blood and pieces of their own lungs, surprised the Germans with a counter-charge. The zombie-like Russians opened fire and attacked the Germans with affixed bayonets causing mass panic and forced the Germans to flee back into their own traps inflicting more casualties. The remaining Russian defenders who survived the gas attacks seized the opportunity to raze the fortress and withdraw while the Germans hesitated. "The Attack Of The Dead Men" spawned German legends about unkillable Russian soldiers rising from the dead to fight.
Sabaton recently issued Episode 4 of their ongoing The Great Tour Vlog, stating: "In Episode 4 of The Great Tour vlogs, Hannes takes you on a tour inside the tour buses and explains how useful it is having his face on 7 big trucks. Tommy, Chris and Hannes show you some heavy work out exercises, a bit before Chris manages to burn his hand during the show... The 3 of them also compete at a Pokerdice game - can you guess who wins? The band also receives a Sold Out Award from König Pilsener Arena, they play Sportpaleis, the biggest indoor Arena in Europe, plus they deliver 4 fantastic shows in Leipzig, Frankfurt, Oberhausen and Antwerp!"
Upcoming tour dates:
February
11 - Hamburg, Germany - Sporthalle
12 - Copenhagen, Denmark - Forum Black Box
14 - Gothenburg, Sweden - Scandinavium
15 - Stockholm, Sweden - Hovet
16 - Oslo, Norway - Spektrum

THE ORDER OF CHAOS Featuring INTO ETERNITY Vocalist AMANDA KIERNAN Release "Believe In The Demon" Lyric Video
Canada's The Order Of Chaos (featuring Into Eternity vocalist Amanda Kiernan) have released the second single, "Believe In The Demon", from their upcoming Maniacal album. Watch the clip below.
“'Believe In The Demon' is the first song we wrote for this album and is quite possibly the heaviest song The Order of Chaos has ever written. It is a dark song that explores the prevalence of mental illness in modern society, and the maniacal voices we all have inside our heads. If you have seen The Order of Chaos live in the past year or so, you have probably already heard it, as it was one of the heavy hitters in the most recent setlist," says John Simon Fallon.
Maniacal is the band's first release in over two years since the release of the Night Terror EP and their first full-length album, Apocalypse Moon, was released over four years ago. It's a powerful, fast, to the point, hard-hitting 10-song LP full of memorable choruses and catchy hooks.
The album was engineered by Diego Fernandez at Oracle Studios and Nathan Kidd at Method Music Productions in Edmonton, AB and was mixed by Nino Laurenne at Sonic Pump Studios in Helsinki, Finland (Wintersun, Amorphis, Sonata Arctica) along with mastering done by Svante Forsbäck at Chartmakers Mastering in Espoo, Finland (Rammstein, Volbeat).
This album is The Order of Chaos' most mature, cohesive and dynamic songwriting effort to date and the band is incredibly excited to share it with everyone who has supported them through the past 15 years as well as to all their maniacal heavy metal fans across the globe.
The album will be formally released in 2020, with several additional singles being released over the next few months. Additional details regarding a formal label/distribution deal and future plans for the group will also be released at a later date.
Maniacal tracklist:
"Breakpoint"
"Maniacal"
"Believe In The Demon"
"Silver Lining"
"Dangerous Games"
"Twist Of Fate"
"The Eve Of Destruction"

LOST SYMPHONY Releases New Single “Singularity” Feat. OLI HERBERT, BUMBLEFOOT & ETHAN BROSH; Music Video
The newly revealed symphonic metal band, Lost Symphony, has taken the scene by storm with the recent announcement of their massive collaboration with some of the most talented and legendary names in heavy rock and metal including past and present members/contributors from Guns N’ Roses, All That Remains, Starset, Cradle Of Filth, Nevermore, Steel Panther, Trans-Siberian Orchestra among many others. In 2020, the band will release a string of records, with the first album, Chapter I, coming out on March 27 via XOff Records.
Today, the band has unveiled their latest single, “Singularity”, in the form of a music video and on all streaming services. Watch the video below.
On the new single, “Singularity” (feat. Oli Herbert, Bumblefoot and Ethan Brosh), strings give way to a vital, yet vulnerable guitar lead. Sweep-picking precedes a violin counterpoint as Bumblefoot contributes a fretless guitar solo.
“The piano reminded me of Indiana Jones,” says Benny Goodman, the band’s founding multi-instrumentalist and producer. “It felt like the perfect opener. The title references Ray Kurzweil’s theory on the next stage of evolution. We evolve by emerging with intelligent technology. It’s the nexus of technology and biology where social media feeds will be downloaded into our brains.”
Comprised of brothers Benny and Brian Goodman (compositions, arrangement), along with co-conspirators Cory Paza (bass, guitar), Kelly Kereliuk (guitar), Paul Lourenco (drums) and Starset’s Siobhán Cronin (violin, viola), Lost Symphony’s journey began in 2015. After crafting an initial classical demo, Benny chose to find guitar players to bring it to life. Discovering Kelly and Conrad Simon online, he began sending music back and forth collecting incredible solos. The project began taking shape when All That Remains drummer Jason Costa provided drum tracks, which led to bringing the late ATR guitarist Oli Herbert into the fold.
“We basically spent weeks in my basement putting songs together,” recalls Benny. “Oli thoughtfully constructed lead guitar parts for several of our songs and was a key collaborator. We sat and worked on everything note for note from start-to-finish. Oli brought legitimacy to this. He was like our ambassador. When he’d call other guitarists, they’d pick up the phone.”
After years of piecing together the project under the radar, Benny introduces it to the world in 2020, sharing one-song per week for two months accompanied by exclusive recording footage. The first single “This Life Moves Too Fast” [feat. David Ellefson, Jeff Loomis, & Jimi Bell] gallops forward on a hummable riff punctuated by sweeping violin, propulsive bass, and lyrical fretwork. Uniting Loomis, Ellefson, and Bell, it ebbs and flows between moments of scorching soloing and orchestral reprieve.
Pre-order the album here.
Chapter I tracklisting:
"Singularity" (feat. Oli Herbert, Bumblefoot & Ethan Brosh)
"Premeditated Destruction" (feat. Brock Richards, Richard Shaw, Jimi Bell & Matt LaPierre)
