HALESTORM's LZZY HALE 'Stands With' AMY LEE After EVANESCENCE Singer Opens Up About Her Political Views For First Time

HALESTORM frontwoman Lzzy Hale has publicly thrown her support behind Amy Lee after the EVANESCENCE singer opened up about her politicial views for the first time.

Lee's decision to speak out was apparently prompted by the GOP-controlled Senate's vote on Wednesday (February 6) to acquit President Donald J. Trump on both articles of impeachment without calling witnesses. The Senate voted 52-48 to acquit Trump on the first article of impeachment which charged him with abuse of power. The second article charging him with obstruction of Congress was defeated by a 53-47 vote on party lines.

To remove the president from office, two-thirds of the Senate, or 67 lawmakers, needed to vote to convict him.

On Thursday, Lee released a statement via social media in which she said that she couldn't stand by and keep her mouth shut while her country's freedom was being "taken away." She explained: "It isn't about one story, one side, or one party vs. another. It is simply about right and wrong, what is acceptable and what's not. This isn't good enough for me and it isn't good enough for any of us. We deserve better."

Amy went on to say that she does "not accept lying, cheating or bullying" from her government and she insisted that she "will never bow down to a dictator."

Lee added that Republicans and Democrats "are not enemies," claiming that we "are ALL being manipulated and used" and urging everyone to "seek the truth for ourselves."

Earlier today, Lzzy shared Amy's statement and included the following brief message: "I stand with you Amy." She added the hashtags #seekthetruth and #useyourvoice.

Listen To New ASKING ALEXANDRIA Single 'They Don't Want What We Want (And They Don't Care)'

"They Don't Want What We Want (And They Don't Care)", the new single from ASKING ALEXANDRIA, can be streamed below. The song is expected to appear on the band's next album, due later in the year via Sumerian Records.

Guitarist Ben Bruce says: "We are back and we are back in the biggest way! Our new song 'They Don't Want What We Want (And They Don't Care)' is non-stop energy! Some of Danny's catchiest vocals, one of the biggest guitar riffs I've ever written and some of James's best drumming all thrown into one big melting pot. We cannot wait to play this song live! We are super proud to be flying the rock flag high on this one. Let's bang those fucking heads and sing along at the top of our lungs!"

Last December, ASKING ALEXANDRIA singer Danny Worsnop confirmed to Australia's Heavy that the band had completed work on its new LP. "We spent the last few months in and out of the studio, in between tours, writing and recording," he said. "[Guitarist] Ben [Bruce] and I basically locked ourselves away and put together a collection of songs that define where we're at as musicians and as artists and as people. I think it's by far the strongest material that we've [written]."

Last July, ASKING ALEXANDRIA released a new single called "The Violence", along with an accompanying seven-minute short film written and directed by Jensen Noen and presented by Scissor Films and Sumerian Films.

At the time, Bruce said that the song "encompasses everything we have been working towards: huge guitars, anthemic drums and some of the catchiest, most technically accomplished vocals that Danny has ever delivered, and this is only just the beginning."

Worsnop added that "The Violence" was "an incredibly rewarding song to create. Ben and I both got to go way outside anything we'd done before and create something fresh and engaging.

"Thematically, the song is about the way mainstream media and politicians manipulate and spread mistruth amongst the people to encourage and create anger, fear, division, and conflict in their quest to control and acquire power," he revealed. "As the history books have shown, this only goes so far before the people stand up and say enough is enough."

ASKING ALEXANDRIA recently announced the "Like A House On Fire" U.S. headline tour with special guests FALLING IN REVERSE, WAGE WAR and HYRO THE HERO. The trek will kick off on Thursday, April 30 in Phoenix, Arizona and will hit a further 21 stops before ending in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Sunday, May 31.

Last December, ASKING ALEXANDRIA released a deluxe version of its phenomenally successful self-titled album. The release, titled "LP5 DLX", celebrated the second anniversary of the release of "Asking Alexandria" and featured six bonus tracks. Previously unheard gems such as a full-band version of hit single "Vultures", the original demo of "Rise Up", a Hyro The Hero mash-up of "Where Did It Go" and a Dex Luthor remix of "Alone In A Room" accompanied the additions of the acoustic version of "Alone In A Room" and the band's rendition of "Perfect" taken from ASKING ALEXANDRIA's live session at SiriusXM.

Watch TOMMY LEE Play A College Professor On 'The Goldbergs'

Tommy Lee, producer, author, drummer and founding member of MÖTLEY CRÜE, will make a special guest starring appearance on tonight's episode of the ABC-TV hit comedy "The Goldbergs". MÖTLEY CRÜE's "Home Sweet Home" is also the musical tribute for this episode.

In the episode titled "Preventa Mode", Barry Goldberg (Troy Gentile) takes his attractive college professor on a date for Valentine's Day. After losing her affection after the first date, he pays a visit to the head of her department, Professor Lee, played by Lee, to make sure dating a teacher is okay.

In a preview clip Lee shared to Twitter earlier today, Goldberg tells the professor that "there's this awesome rock song about inappropriate love that I'm trying to base my life on." Lee responds: "You mean that deafening noise made by morally questionable gentlemen?" before revealing the only type of "rock" he likes.

"I love doing this type of thing," said Lee about his guest starring appearance on "The Goldbergs". "I got to work with an amazing cast and crew, play dress up for a day and have a blast. And I gotta say, damn... those professor shoes were so comfortable!"

"Growing up in the '80s, I spent a lot of time watching MTV. I loved MÖTLEY CRÜE's 'Home Sweet Home' video about missing your girlfriend while being out on the road," said Adam F. Goldberg, executive producer, "The Goldbergs". "It was one of the first rock ballads that starts off with a soft piano and kicks in with the full band. I'm so grateful Tommy agreed to have some fun with us in this episode. He was terrific."

"The Goldbergs" stars Wendi McLendon-Covey as Beverly Goldberg, Patton Oswalt as adult Adam Goldberg, Sean Giambrone as Adam Goldberg, Troy Gentile as Barry Goldberg, Hayley Orrantia as Erica Goldberg, Sam Lerner as Geoff Schwartz, with George Segal as Pops Solomon and Jeff Garlin as Murray Goldberg.

Also guest starring is Shayne Topp as Matt Bradley, Matt Bush as Andy Cogan, Noah Munck as Naked Rob, Sadie Stanley as Brea Bee, Sean Marquette as Johnny Atkins, Natalie Alyn Lind as Dana, Matt Cornett as Andrew Gallery, and Miranda Cosgrove as Elana Reid.

"Preventa Mode" was written by Bill Callahan and directed by Vern Davidson. Adam F. Goldberg, Doug Robinson, Alex Barnow, Chris Bishop and Annette Davis are executive producers.

"The Goldbergs" is produced by Happy Madison, Doug Robinson Productions and Adam F. Goldberg Productions, in association with Sony Pictures Television.

GREYSTONE CANYON Streaming New Video “Keeping Company With The Dead / Astral Plane”

Australia’s Greystone Canyon have premiered their music video "Keeping Company With The Dead / Astral Plane" off the band’s Wild West inspired debut album While The Wheels Still Turn released during 2018 via Rockshots Records (EU/NA) and Hellfire Records (AU). If you’re a fan of classic metal in the vein of influences such as Alice Cooper, Ozzy Osbourne, and Megadeth, then this will be right up your alley.

In the ‘70s and ‘80s, Australia gave the world great hard rock/metal acts like AC/DC and Rose Tattoo. Now, joining those Aussie giants of rock is Greystone Canyon.

The band released their debut album While The Wheels Still Turn on March 9th, 2018, in Europe, U.S.A, and Canada through Rockshots Records and on Hellfire Records in Australia on March 12th, 2018.

The album was tracked at the splendidly named Goatsound Studios in Melbourne, Australia, and then mixed in Canada, making ‘the album a real rock n’ roll frequent flyer. Mixing duties were undertaken by none other than Grammy-nominated producer and legend Glen Robinson, who had engineered, mixed and produced equally legendary acts like Annihilator, Queensryche, and Voivod.

Inspired by legends like Led Zeppelin, Alice Cooper, Ozzy Osbourne, Megadeth and King Diamond, While The Wheels Still Turn is an album that could not only sit well beside the works of those legends, but with the current tsunami of all things the ‘70s and ‘80s inspired, Greystone Canyon are in the right place at the right time. We are traveling back to the future and they are the soundtrack!

As vocalist/guitarist Darren Cherry proudly states.

“We really wanted to make an album similar to old Ozzy Osbourne record where songs like ‘I Don’t Know’ and ‘Goodbye To Romance’ can sit comfortably. This is music from the heart and soul!”

Watch KINGDOM COME Perform In Las Vegas

Fan-filmed video footage of KINGDOM COME's January 31 concert at Count's Vamp'd in Las Vegas, Nevada can be seen below (courtesy of YouTube user "Michael Buttaccio").

Singer Lenny Wolf is not involved with KINGDOM COME's current reunion tour, which recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of the release of the band's self-titled debut album.

The trek, which kicked off in September 2018, features drummer James Kottak alongside guitarists Danny Stag and Rick Steier, bassist Johnny B. Frank and vocalist Keith St. John (formerly of MONTROSE and LYNCH MOB).

KINGDOM COME will perform at this year's edition of the Sweden Rock Festival, set to take place June 3-6 in Sölvesborg, Sweden.

In a May 2019 interview with "Talking Metal", Kottak was asked about KINGDOM COME's future plans as it relates to touring and recording. He responded: "2020 is shaping up to be a really busy year for us. We're gonna play, basically, every weekend. And of course, we wanna do new music. Contractually, we have to wait two years. And it's the nature of the beast and the way it is. But, again, we respect Lenny and what he's decided to do.

"Rick has enough music — I'm not kidding — riffs and stuff for, like, 10 albums; he's a songwriting machine," he continued. "And we're gonna see what happens. We're just taking it month to month, day by day — one day at a time."

During the same chat, Steier talked about KINGDOM COME's decision to play without Lenny, saying: "Lenny retired. It's something that he wanted to do. He wasn't into going and performing anymore. So God bless him, and we wish him all the best. But we still have some rocking blood in us. So we wanna get out there.

"We did a couple of months run [in the fall of 2018], and then [now] we're doing weekend warrior stuff, getting the name back out, making sure people remember us playing and showing people we still can play," he said. "'Cause a lot of bands get worse as they get older."

Back in 2018, Kottak admitted that he and his bandmates were initially concerned about whether people would accept KINGDOM COME without Wolf.

"When we first put the word out to promoters and buyers, at first they were going, 'Oh yeah! KINGDOM COME!'" the drummer recalled to Eonmusic. "Then we had to go back a few weeks later and say, 'Sorry. Unfortunately, there will be no Lenny Wolf.' So, out of the 20 or so offers we had from different buyers, only three actually pulled out. I was surprised; I thought we'd get a little more backlash. But so many bands, especially bands with longevity, they change members; look at THIN LIZZY, how they changed, or name any band that's been around for 25, 30 years, and there's very few that have all the original members."

After its early run of success in the '80s, KINGDOM COME released several albums, with Wolf remaining the only constant member of the band. The group's most recent effort was 2013's "Outlier".

KINGDOM COME IS BACK ON TOUR !

EVANESCENCE's AMY LEE Opens Up About Her Political Views For First Time: 'I Will Never Bow Down To A Dictator'

EVANESCENCE singer Amy Lee has opened up about her political views for the first time, explaining that she "can't stand by" and keep her mouth shut while her "country's freedom is taken away."

Earlier today, Lee released the following statement via Twitter:

"I have never spoken publicly about my political views. I can respect things that I don't agree with and I have always wanted my music to be a free place where people of all beliefs, all colors, all genders can come together and have something in common.

"I can't stand by and keep my mouth shut while my country's freedom is taken away. It isn't about one story, one side, or one party vs. another. It is simply about right and wrong, what is acceptable and what's not. This isn't good enough for me and it isn't good enough for any of us. We deserve better.

"I do not accept lying, cheating or bullying from my government.

"Our inheritance is a free country, but the voices of many are being twisted and drowned out by the few in power.

"I will never bow down to a dictator.

"It's very hard to believe that it's gotten to this point because as an American, I've always had the privilege of believing in the shelter of my country, and the idea that nobody inside the White House would abuse their power. We have the greater power to stand up as a nation and say no. It's OUR country and we can't let a few greedy suits steal it from us. We can't let them tear us apart.

"Republicans and Democrats, we are not enemies. We have been intentionally divided so we can be conquered. We are ALL being manipulated and used, and the only way to save ourselves is to break the boundaries of partisanship and band together to fight for truth. We must seek the truth for ourselves.

"Don't trust someone because they are in power on TV. Bad people come into power all the time and if lying is allowed, they'll tell you whatever you want to hear. Liars will always try to make something simple seem confusing.

"Here's an easy one: Anyone who refused to hear witnesses speak is clearly not seeking truth. Accepting this abuse says it's okay for our leaders to lie to us, cheat on us, make decisions without our input, and silence us when we try to speak up. This isn't about your policies or beliefs, it's about our freedom.

"Think for yourself. Seek the truth. Use your Voice."

EVANESCENCE will play at the Download festival in Tokyo in March. After a short break, the group head out on a massive co-headline tour of Europe with WITHIN TEMPTATION. The new batch of dates kicks off on April 4 in Brussels, Belgium and concludes in Birmingham, U.K. on May 1. EVANESCENCE then returns to the U.S. for a headline show at The Fillmore in Minneapolis, Minnesota on May 14, followed by an appearance at the Sonic Temple Music & Arts Festival. All tickets are on sale now and can be purchased on the band's official web site.

RANDY RHOADS On LEE KERSLAKE Joining OZZY OSBOURNE - “WE’VE GOT OURSELVES A FUCKING DRUMMER!”

In an upcoming BraveWords feature, former Ozzy and Uriah Heep drummer Lee Kerslake talks about his cancer battle, current projects and his relationship with Ozzy Osbourne, who he built such classics as Blizzard Of Ozz and Diary Of A Madman with after leaving Uriah Heep. Watch for the full story in the coming days, but for now, drum roll please…

BraveWords: What do the two Ozzy albums that you played on mean to you today?

Lee Kerslake: “I had left Uriah Heep because I was fed up with the management. Management drove me mad and I hated them. So, I left. I went down to Shepperton - a friend of mine’s studio... do you remember Go West? Pete Cox was another good mate of mine, who was also with Manfred Mann, and he had a studio. So, we got together, and I had Pete Cox singing songs that I was writing. And lo and behold I get a phone call from Ossie Hoppe from Germany, and he says, ‘Ozzy Osbourne is asking to get in touch with you. He wants to know if you can join his band?’ I said, ‘No. I’m not joining any band. I’ll be part of a band... but I’m not joining to be a member of a band.’ He said, ‘No - all four of you will be straight down the middle. What’s going to happen is we’re going to get a studio in Shepperton, and you’re going to come down there, set up your kit, play a couple of tracks, and take it from there.’ I said ‘OK.’ I knew Bob Daisley was going to be in the band. They’d started recording, and they were using any drummers they could get their hands on - and they were bloody awful. Believe me, they were awful. So, I phoned Bob, and said, ‘What songs are you using?’ And over the phone he told me the idea and he played me the idea of ‘Crazy Train’ and ‘I Don’t Know.’ And I went, ‘OK. I got it.’ So, the day came that I went into the studio rehearsal, and I went, ‘One, two, three, four…’ (sings beginning of ‘Crazy Train’). We did all of that, I started playing heavy, and Randy Rhoads jumped up in the air, and said, ‘WE’VE GOT OURSELVES A FUCKING DRUMMER!’ And that was it - I was in. And I co-wrote the second album. But I did a lot of work with the drums to get it right with the style of the first one, Blizzard Of Ozz. And then we did Diary Of A Madman, which I thought was an amazing album. And so did a lot of people - those two albums together sold millions, and they’re still selling.”

Watch for more soon!

MOTIONLESS IN WHITE Members Wanted To 'Kill Each Other' A Couple Of Years Ago, Says CHRIS MOTIONLESS

In a brand new interview with Pozzo Live, MOTIONLESS IN WHITE frontman Chris "Motionless" Cerulli was asked how he and his bandmates manage not to kill each other when they spend so much time together on a tour bus. He responded (see video below): "Man, that's a tough one. I think what's great about us now is that we're coming through a period where we did kind of wanna kill each other. That was a couple of years ago. We found ways to still bond and enjoy what we did, but something just wasn't there. And now, with the new album and the new touring cycle, everything is just awesome and everyone gets along. Whether it's as simple as playing video games together, or our guitarist Ricky [Horror] does a lot of filming of everybody and tries to build these really cool update videos, so it brings everyone together. There's a lot of really small individual ways where everyone comes together and enjoys it. But, yeah, there's definitely those days where you're just like, 'Ooooohhhh…' Just the sound of somebody's voice makes you wanna fucking lose your mind. And that happens to everybody. When you're stuck that close to everybody every day, it does get like that. But, fortunately, now for us, we're very happy as a group and really love what we do. So it's great."

MOTIONLESS IN WHITE's latest album, "Disguise" is available now at all DSPs. The disc is highlighted by a series of singles, including "Brand New Numb", "Undead Ahead 2: The Tale Of The Midnight Ride" and "Disguise", the latter joined by a companion video directed by frequent collaborators Jeremy Danger and Travis Shinn. In addition, "Brand New Numb" was recently joined by an official visual, also directed by Moore.

Comprised of Motionless, guitarists Ryan Sitkowski and Ricky Horror, drummer Vinny Mauro, and bassist Justin Morrow, MOTIONLESS IN WHITE has won over audiences around the globe with its aggressive music and arresting imagery, firmly placing the band among the upper echelon of modern rock.

ANTHRAX's FRANK BELLO On NEIL PEART's Death: 'I Didn't See This Coming At All'

ANTHRAX bassist Frank Bello has commented on the passing of Neil Peart, who died on January 7 in Santa Monica, California after a three-year battle with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. The iconic RUSH drummer was 67 years old.

During an appearance on the "Come To Where I'm From" podcast, Bello said (see video below) about Neil's death: "I didn't expect that. I didn't see this coming at all. That's one of my guys. And as a bass player, too, I'll say that. That's the guy I try to lock in bass with… Just think about these crazy things that he did outside the box and experiment and made it look easy. I mean, think about it.

"I'm so sorry I didn't see that last [RUSH] tour. I wasn't home. That last tour, I was never home when they were [near my hometown], and I regret that.

"Man, talk about a loss," he added. "It just breaks my heart. You just want more. 'Cause I don't think there are people like that around. There's never gonna be another RUSH. That came organically.

"Growing up in the Bronx, I'd come home from school, [go over] to my Uncle Joe's deli, worked till eight o'clock. Eight o'clock, eight thirty, I'd grab something to eat, go right to my room and learn a RUSH song."

RUSH announced Peart's passing on January 10, setting off shockwaves and an outpouring of grief from fans and musicians all over the world.

RUSH's final show took place at the Forum in Los Angeles on August 1, 2015. Peart indicated at the time that he wanted to retire while he was still able to play well, along with a desire to spend more time at home with his young daughter.

Peart joined RUSH in 1974. He was considered one of the best rock drummers of all time, alongside John Bonham of LED ZEPPELIN; Keith Moon of THE WHO; and Ginger Baker of CREAM. Peart was also RUSH's primary lyricist, drawing inspiration from everything from sci-fi to Ayn Rand.

CHRIS IMPELLITTERI On The Passing Of NEIL PEART - "Instead Of Being Sad, Celebrate It; He's Got That Immortality In His Music"

Impellitteri guitar lord Chris Impellitteri recently spoke with Eric Blair for The Blairing Out With Eric Blair show. He opens up about his parents committing suicide when he was 9 years-old, who influenced him as guitarist, and the celebrity lifestyle. He also comments on the passing of Rush legend Neil Peart.

Chris: "I grew up listening to Rush, I used to play 'Spirit of Radio', '2112' in seventh grade, that's my band, that's all we played. We were doing all that stuff. But instead of being sad, celebrate it. People are gonna hear his music 30 years from today; people are still gonna talk about him in the history books. I mean, this guy, to me personally - and some drummers may get mad, and I love all you drummers out there - but he was the greatest rock drummer in my opinion. He was the kind of guy where if he played, I didn't need to hear the bass or the drums. He could play drums, and I'd go, 'Oh, I know that song,' which means he's, even though he's a percussionist, he's very musical. Instead of being sad, I'm celebrating, thinking, 'Man, Neil, what he created...' I can turn it on at any time, I can put on the CD player or whatever, stream it, he will always be there, so he lives on, he's got that immortality in his music."

Chris Impellitteri and company released a stellar heavy metal shred fest in 2018 with their album, The Nature Of The Beast, available via Frontiers Music Srl. The band recently captured some live footage and created a video for "Hypocrisy" from said album. Watch below:

Impellitteri recorded The Nature Of The Beast in Los Angeles, California with legendary engineer/ producer Mike Plotnikoff (Van Halen, Aerosmith, In Flames), mix engineer Greg Reely (Overkill, Fear Factory, Impellitteri), and engineers Jun Murakawa and Sean Shannon.

New CROWBAR Album Is 'Coming Out Fantastic,' Says KIRK WINDSTEIN

In a new interview with Full Metal Jackie's nationally syndicated radio show, frontman Kirk Windstein of New Orleans sludge metal veterans CROWBAR provided an update on the songwriting process for the band's next full-length album. He said (hear audio below): "This new record's coming out amazing, and it's writing itself. Of course, I have a lot of help from Matt Brunson, our other guitar player. And then even our new bassist Shane Wesley's contributed a lot of cool stuff to it.

"I worry about it, like, 'Oh, God, are my ideas gonna dry up? Am I gonna run out of ideas about how to do CROWBAR?'" he admitted. "But, thankfully, and I can say, it's coming out fantastic. We're already working on song eight. So we're actually way ahead of schedule at this point, which is a good feeling. So we can take our time on the final two songs, which we have a lot of riffs for, but they still need to be written.

"I do worry when it's, like, 'Oh God, it's time for a new CROWBAR [record]," he reiterated. "I mean, it's the 12th CROWBAR record, so it's a minimum of 120 songs — probably at least 125 songs or something — in the CROWBAR catalog now. And when you think about that, sometimes it is kind of scary. Like, 'How is this gonna happen? What challenges am I gonna face, or are we gonna face, trying to put together this CROWBAR album?' But so far, this new one is coming out fantastic."

Last fall, Windstein spoke to Australia's Heavy magazine about what has been inspiring him while he has been writing new CROWBAR material. "I always do my lyrics last," he said. "From a lyrical standpoint, I have zero ideas so far, but, the arrangements and the songs and whatnot are really coming good. It's a good mixture of some old-school stuff, some more melodic stuff, some faster stuff. We try to expand our sound a little bit as the band grows older and we continue to put out more records. We don't want to repeat ourselves over and over again. Then again, we want to stay true to what the original idea of CROWBAR was 30 years ago. I think we're on the right track with this one. I'm really enjoying the last couple of records. I think we're definitely on the right track with this one."

CROWBAR's latest studio album, "The Serpent Only Lies", was released in 2016 via eOne.

THE FLOWER KINGS Release "Miracles For America" Drum Playthrough Video

Progressive rock legends, The Flower Kings, released their new studio double-album, Waiting For Miracles, via InsideOutMusic last November.

Waiting For Miracles offers complex and intricate compositions, which also profit from drummer Mirkko DeMaio’s impressive performance and style. He now invites you to check out his playthrough of the epic "Miracles For America" and states: "I've recorded this the week right before leaving for Japan for two concerts with The Flower Kings, which have been a huge success! 'Miracles For America' is probably the most tricky song of the album Waiting For Miracles, but it has been for me the most easy to record, because in a total honest way, I've practiced this more hehehe…

"It's an edited version (basically I've took off a short 'atmosphere' part where there's no drums, just to save a little time) and my drumming is slightly different from the album version, indeed it has more my live approach to it. Enjoy!"

The album is comprised of 15 new tracks, recorded last summer at RMV studio in Stockholm, Sweden – a vintage studio space owned by ABBA star Benny Andersson. Get it here.

Disc 1:
"House Of Cards"
"Black Flag"
"Miracles For America"
"Vertigo"
"The Bridge"
"Ascending To The Stars"
"Wicked Old Symphony"
"The Rebel Circus"
"Sleep With The Enemy"
"The Crowning Of Greed"

Disc 2:
"House Of Cards Reprise"
"Spirals"
"Steampunk"
"We Were Always Here"
"Busking At Brobank"

"Wicked Old Symphony":

"Miracles For America":

"Black Flag":

The Flower Kings started as an outlet for guitarist/singer/composer Roine Stolt in 1994 - a time when prog-rock wasn’t mere history, nor a dirty word. The band quickly gained momentum and was one of a handful of bands helping to revive the progressive rock scene worldwide. Roine has since collaborated with a host of legendary musicians across various projects, including his acclaimed 2015 album with YES legend Jon Anderson, progressive-rock supergroup Transatlantic alongside Neal Morse, Mike Portnoy and Pete Trewavas, and a year as bass player with Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett. The Flower Kings however, has always felt like home for Roine and the other band veterans Jonas Reingold and Hasse Fröberg.

BUTCHER BABIES' CARLA HARVEY: 'We've Got So Much Going On This Year'

BUTCHER BABIES singer Carla Harvey spoke to the "Scandalous Podcast" about the band's plans for 2020 after spending most of last year in the studio working on the follow-up to "Lilith", which was released in October 2017 via Century Media.

"We're about to announce a lot of stuff," Carla said (hear audio below). "But we've got so much going on this year. We're so excited.

"Taking almost a year off was actually a good thing, I think, for everybody in different ways," she continued. "For me, it gave me a chance to reconnect with myself, to build my relationships. 'Cause when you're gone on tour so much, you don't see your significant other. It's a very hard life, unless you're constantly with your significant other on the road. It's just hard to stay connected. So I was able to reinvest in my personal life, which is a great, great thing, and that way, I can go back into touring with a good attitude."

Harvey also talked about BUTCHER BABIES' musical and lyrical evolution in the seven years since the release of the band's debut LP, 2013's "Goliath".

"I think that all of our albums have an element of storytelling to them," she said. "We've always really told stories and spoken from personal experiences — we're very open, lyrically, when we write. I think, obviously, the major difference with 'Lilith' was that we had a new drummer, we tried some different styles that were previously not open to us to try, which was great. There was an element of sex on 'Lilith' that we hadn't explored before. It's just groovy and it's sexy. And I think that made a huge difference. The lyric are very sexual. I feel like we just opened more doors for ourselves with that album.

"Our first album was stuff that we had written even as teenagers, some of the lyrics," Carla explained. "So, that was a compilation of us from young adulthood to becoming young women. And it's a great album. The next album [2015's 'Take It Like A Man'], which I love, we fully wrote mostly on the road in kind of stolen little moments. With 'Lilith', we had more time to sit with each other and write extensively. And we also did a lot of pre-production with our producer. We played the songs live over and over and over again, and had a better feel for them before we stepped into the studio to actually record them. So, it was a whole different [process]. I loved every second of it."

Last July, BUTCHER BABIES co-vocalist Heidi Shepherd told "The Robbcast Podcast" that the band was searching for a new label home following a split with Century Media, which released all three of the group's albums so far.

"We had to kind of fight to get out of our last situation," she said. "And so it's such a release and such a big open door. And so we're really focusing on what we want to do musically and the sound we're gonna have. We're gonna definitely maintain that BUTCHER BABIES sound. You can always tell it's us. There's a lot of dynamic — there's always been a lot of dynamic — and I feel like holding ourselves to that is the smartest thing. And so we're just kind of playing around with all different stuff — playing around with different producers and just trying different things and seeing what label is gonna work best for us. So we're in kind of fun shift right now. It's awesome."

"Lilith" was produced by Steve Evetts (THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, SEPULTURA, SUICIDE SILENCE) and marked BUTCHER BABIES' recording debut with drummer Chase Brickenden, who replaced Chris Warner in 2016.

Last July, longtime BUTCHER BABIES bassist Jason Klein announced his departure from the band. He played two final shows with BUTCHER BABIES — on August 1 at Gathering Of The Juggalos in Springville, Indiana and on August 3 at Pain In The Grass in Auburn, Washington — before exiting the group to focus on being a full-time father to his preteen daughter.

Previously Unreleased Track Featuring Late CORROSION OF CONFORMITY Drummer REED MULLIN On Vocals Now Available

"Low Blow", a previously unreleased song from RIGHTEOUS FOOL, the band featuring late CORROSION OF CONFORMITY co-founding drummer Reed "The Mule" Mullin on drums and vocals, can be streamed below.

Mullin passed away on January 27 at the age of 53. The news of his loss continues to stun the hardcore, punk, and metal communities, all of which Mullin inadvertently influenced not only by the lasting impression of his drum prowess but with a universally captivating personality that seemed to warm the souls of all those he crossed paths with.

RIGHTEOUS FOOL was a trio featuring Mullin alongside CORROSION OF CONFORMITY bassist Mike Dean, and guitarist Jason Browning, who all shared vocal contributions. The band released one two-song seven-inch in 2010. The track "Low Blow" was recorded in 2011 at Studio 606 in the San Fernando Valley with the intention to be included on a debut full-length that never came to fruition. The stream serves as a tribute to Mullin on what would have been his 54th birthday (February 12).

"Reed was talking to Jason a few weeks before he passed away and mentioned a song called 'Low Blow' that he regretted not releasing," relays Dean, "It was the standout for sure and really showed his potential as a singer."

Writes Rolling Stone: "Although best known as a drummer, Mullin was also an accomplished vocalist and lyricist — contributing about half the vocals to CORROSION OF CONFORMITY's 1985 punk-metal landmark 'Animosity' — and the drummer sings lead here. He belts out his words in a gritty yet melodic wail that perfectly complements the song's mean, bluesy swagger. Although the music comes from Studio 606, the Mullin vocal that appears here comes from a demo the drummer had made, which he felt he couldn't top."

Ex-SKID ROW Singer JOHNNY SOLINGER Postpones Shows To Undergo Treatment For Injuries Sustained In Car Crash

Former SKID ROW singer Johnny Solinger has been forced to reschedule his previously announced solo shows later this month due to injuries sustained in a car crash late last year.

Solinger, who was a member of SKID ROW from 1999 to 2015, appearing on the "Thickskin" and "Revolutions Per Minute" albums, as well as the "United World Rebellion" and "Rise Of The Damnation Army" EPs, posted an update on his health status on his social media earlier today (Monday, February 10).

He wrote: "My friends - back in December I was T-boned on passenger side in an automobile accident (thank God Paula Marcenaro Solinger was not in vehicle...very scary). In January I began Physical Therapy and an MRI was ordered. X-rays have shown herniated 'bulging' discs in back and neck and this past Friday Doc has ordered to reschedule shows for 6-8 weeks as treatment continues. I have a great team of Medical pros working with me 3 times a week and I am assured at the end of treatment I'll be good as gold. Of course I am pissed and disappointed that I cannot perform the BUCKCHERRY at Warehouse Live show Feb 21 and my Johnny Solinger w QUEENSRŸCHE & DOKKEN tributes at Warehouse Live solo show Feb 28th will have to be rescheduled, but extremely blessed that it was not worse and that my wife was not in the vehicle. So, be careful driving out there, and defo buckle up for safety! Keep your insurance up to par and #lawyerup #besafe."

According to KNAC.com, Solinger has been busy working on new solo music in both the country and rock genres. Last year, he recorded country music with producer Sam Taylor (KING'S X, ZZ TOP), and several other musicians, including Jamie Oldaker (Eric Clapton) on drums. More recently, he was one of the lead singers and performers of the show "Raiding The Rock Vault", which just wrapped up its two-year-plus residency at the famed Hard Rock Casino And Hotel.

Some of Solinger's postponed shows were being billed as the singer performing a "20th-anniversary set of classic SKID ROW, old and new." He told KNAC.com that he wanted to sing SKID ROW songs for the first time after being away from the band for five years because of a renewed interest in everything rock, including bands like KISS, DEF LEPPARD, POISON and MÖTLEY CRÜE. "I have toured with all of them, and it's a joy to witness this 'second coming' of my beloved rock 'n' roll," Solinger said.

Solinger was fired by SKID ROW in April 2015 and replaced by TNT singer Tony Harnell. Tony quit the group only eight months later, and was succeeded by the South African-born, British-based singer ZP Theart, who previously fronted DRAGONFORCE, TANK and I AM I.

SKID ROW bassist Rachel Bolan confirmed to the "One On One With Mitch Lafon" podcast that Solinger was kicked out of the band, contradicting the singer's claim that he "decided to leave SKID ROW to pursue [his] solo career."

Asked what led to Solinger's departure from SKID ROW, Rachel said: "It was evident. There were certain things going on out on the road that kind of set us thinking… Things had been going on for a little bit. And, you know, I'm not here to say anything bad about the guy.

"At certain times, you just get the feeling someone isn't putting a hundred percent into things," he added. "And SKID ROW is very important to the rest of us. And we wanted to carry on with quality performances and quality songs, so we decided to make a change."

Asked if there was ever a time where they felt things were "clicking" and "100 percent right" between Solinger and the rest of the band, Rachel told "Eddie Trunk Live": "We were clicking big time. I thought we made a lot of great music together. And even with [the ongoing trilogy of] EPs, when we were in the studio, we were making great music. Snake [guitarist Dave Sabo] and I would write, and everyone came in and really sunk in. I think it was when we were in the studio that it really became evident that we all didn't have the same heart and soul… We weren't all putting the same heart and soul into it. And it's just one of those things, man. It's rough to make a decision like this, but we did."

Added Snake: "This has nothing to do with Johnny not being a good person; he's a really good person, and we all got along well. There's no animosity at all from our end. And these are terrible decisions to make, man. They're awful. The guy's been with us for fifteen years, and we saw a lot of miles of road together, and I feel extremely fortunate to have spent that time in a band with him. And he's a great singer and he's gonna be fine. He's gonna pursue his solo stuff, I guess, and that's what he should do."

On the topic of how Solinger reacted to being fired from SKID ROW, Snake said: "There was no screaming and shouting. We were both very respectful to one another. And we should be. I mean, like I said, we've traveled a lot of miles together, and this is not something that is easy in any way, but yet it's something that was necessary."

Asked how parting ways with Solinger was different to the split with Sebastian Bach in 1996, Rachel said: "That was a completely different situation. There was a lot of bad blood there, and… Yeah, it was a completely different situation. This is something, like Snake said, there's no animosity. It's just… We all didn't have our eyes on the same prize at this point, and it interfered. It interfered with moving forward. And that's why we made a change."

*Show Announcement* My friends- back in December I was T-boned on passenger side in an automobile accident (thank God...

MYRKUR Reveals “Leaves Of Yggdrasil” Video

Danish composer and multi-instrumentalist, Myrkur has revealed her new video and single, "Leaves Of Yggdrasil". Amalie Bruuns's delicate and sweeping vocals paired with the violin, piano, lyre and nyckelharpa make for a lullaby-like song which she notes, "is very dear to my heart." She continues, "I wrote Leaves of Yggdrasil about being apart from the one you love because of circumstances that are completely out of your control. The Norns weave the fates of Gods and man and sometimes that means very tough life situations. I wanted to create a song with the feeling of an old folk-tale, but with words that resonated with my own life today."

For the video, Amalie rejoined forces with filmmaker Mats Ek to create something entirely different from anything she's ever done. Watch below as they take you into a visual universe somewhere outside of nature and more into the otherworldly.

Myrkur's Amalie Bruun has always paved her own path and challenged underground preconceptions of heavy genres. Just after newfound motherhood, Bruun set out on a journey into the very heart of the Scandinavian culture that marked her own childhood with the release of her new album, Folkesange.

Due out March 20 via Relapse Records, Folkesange relinquishes black metal for a refined yet far-reaching evocation of traditional folk, combining songs ancient and new to sublimely resonant effect.

On Myrkur's first two full-length studio albums (2015's M and 2017's Mareridt), she recast black metal in the most personal yet expansive of terms, their blending of Bruun's Danish folk roots with tempestuous internal struggles breathing new life into a subgenre whose followers can be rigidly possessive.

After the nightmare-induced visions that wrought themselves throughout 2017's immensely acclaimed Mareridt, Folkesange offers an emotional sanctuary, a means to reconnect to something permanent and nature-aligned. It's an awareness that's become deeply bound to the album's organic, regenerative spirit.

Storytelling, rites of passage, and the invocation of a continuity that passes through time and generation are all part of folk music's tapestry, and Folkesange taps into all these currents in their most essential form. In part a purist's approach to the genre, free from over-interpretation and fusion, the use of Kulning (an ancient Scandinavian herding call) and traditional instruments throughout, such as nyckelharpa, lyre and mandola offer a deeper, more tactile connection to their source, an unbroken line of communication back to the past.

But the album is no museum piece; it resonates in the here and now, aided by the spacious production of Heilung member and musical collaborator Christopher Juul. Cinematic yet intimate, Folkesange exists in a state of boundless reverie, bourne by string-led drones, cyclical, elegiac rhythms and Bruun's frictionless voice, all carrier signals for deep-rooted, ancestral memories, and associations felt on an elemental level.

An immersive experience in its own right, but also belonging to a wider, pagan folk-based renaissance that has attracted a devoted following worldwide, Folkesange answers a need that has become ever more pressing in turbulent times. A zeroing in on a resonance that is both intrinsic and enduring, it's a rediscovery of personal grounding, and an experience that reaches beyond culture to remind us of a shared, deeply rooted inheritance. A tuning fork that binds the personal and the universal, Folkesange is a reminder that the most transcendent experiences are those closest to home.

SIX FEET UNDER Guitarist RAY SUHY To Release New Jazz Album In April; "Determination" Video Streaming

With the release of his jazz quartet’s brand-new album, Ray Suhy proves that a guitarist of death metal fame isn’t confined to a creative box. Transcendent (Sunnyside Records) by the Ray Suhy/Lewis Porter Quartet is an album that showcases the depths of Ray’s talent as a jazz virtuoso. While Ray may be best known for his work with the band Six Feet Under (Metal Blade Records), he has emerged from the underworld to lift the veil on his alternate musician ego. The record is due for release on April 17.

It’s not every day that a metal guitarist records a jazz album, but Ray Suhy is not an ordinary musician, nor has he experienced a linear creative journey. He’s a guitarist who has explored multiple musical styles throughout his career and a true creative who pushes boundaries. His work speaks for itself across a dozen albums with death metal bands Six Feet Under and Cannabis Corpse, post-rock experimentation with The Baltic Sea, and progressive math metal with East Of The Wall. Over the years, Ray dipped his toe in the jazz world by recording and performing improvised music with the likes of Nels Cline, Matthew Shipp, Allen Lowe, and Marc Ribot, among others. His collaborations eventually led him to begin a jazz quartet with Grammy-nominee and jazz pianist Lewis Porter.

Ray’s passion for jazz developed in his teen years. He grew up a self-taught guitar player who loved classic rock and thrash metal, but on a high school band trip to Berklee College of Music, he stumbled upon a record store that would change his life. He picked up a few records by John Coltrane, whom his rock guitar heroes revered, and upon first listen, became obsessed. Ray began exploring jazz harmony and eventually attended Berklee as well as The New School jazz program. While his college studies were short-lived, Ray began studying with the late great jazz educator and pianist Charlie Banacos, who taught Ray’s hero Mike Stern as well as Jeff Berlin, Wayne Krantz and many others. Ray’s studies with Charlie continued over the course of more than a decade, and he learned many different concepts that continue to shape his playing and songwriting today.

Transcendent is a continued exploration of Ray’s love of mid-1960s Coltrane-era jazz and combines that with slightly more free textures. Setting out to create a moody, diverse record, both Ray and Lewis composed pieces that showcase the strengths of the group that is rounded out by Brad Jones on bass (Ornette Coleman, Elvin Jones) and Rudy Royston on drums (Bill Frisell, Ravi Coltrane). Upon listening to Transcendent, followers of Ray’s work in Six Feet Under and other rock bands will appreciate his blistering guitar solos, while also discovering new levels of intricacy in his playing. Jazz lovers will appreciate the well-conceived charts and the group’s masterful improvisations. In this sense, Transcendent not only transcends genres and styles, but also fan bases, leaving something for everyone to enjoy.

IRIST - Order Of The Mind Album Details Revealed; Band Introduction Video Streaming

A few weeks back, Georgian metal quintet, Irist, dropped a new single, “Burning Sage”, on an unsuspecting metal world and in its wake left the scene buzzing about one of the South’s most exciting bands to come along in years. In a new video released by the band, they’ve invited fans into their world to find out a little more about them and the nature of their sound. Meet the band below:

In case it was missed, watch the video for “Burning Sage” below.

The framework for Irist began in the summer of 2015 when South American born friends Pablo Davila (guitar) and Bruno Segovia (bass) conspired on a dream of finding success in music outside their native lands as iconic metal band Sepultura had done decades before. After relocating from their homelands to Atlanta, the duo brought on Adam Mitchell (guitar) and Jason Belisha (drums) and began writing music. After the addition of vocalist Rodrigo Carvalho, the group’s creative cohesion and songwriting improved immensely and Irist was officially born.

On Order Of The Mind, Irist’s skillful songwriting is jaw-droppingly impressive, and although only together for a relatively short period of time, they sound years ahead of a “debut” record and more like a well-seasoned band in the prime of their career. While there are vestiges of the group’s pan-South American heritage (from Andean music to Sepultura) throughout Order Of The Mind, the band’s collective influences come from all parts of the heavy spectrum. From The Melvins, Ratos de Porão, and Alice in Chains to The Dillinger Escape Plan, Soundgarden, and Converge, Irist fold in, twist fervently, and scorch their faves until they’re decidedly protean and uniquely a product of the fivesome’s songwriting prowess. In many respects, Order Of The Mind is itinerant, introspective, portentous, indefatigable in its attack, but that’s not all it is either. Irist’s angst-powered thrusts are distinctly advanced utilizing opposing forces, textures, and layers, so no single sonic model fits perfectly.

Order Of The Mind was engineered, produced, and mixed by Lewis Johns at the Ranch Production House in Southampton, UK and mastered by Grammy Award-winning engineer Ted Jensen (Metallica, Mastodon) at Sterling Sound.

ZZ TOP Recall Playing Early Gig For One Person - "We Bought Him A Coke, 'Cause We Were Thankful He Stuck Around"; That Little Ol' Band From Texas Documentary Preview

ZZ Top’s big, brazen blues-rock, combined with a surrealist charisma that continues to intrigue fans, catapulted the band into worldwide stardom. Their history is deeply explored in ZZ Top: That Little Ol’ Band From Texas, which will be released via Eagle Rock Entertainment on DVD, Blu-ray and digitally on February 28. The release is available along with exclusive That Little Ol’ Band merchandise bundles, here.

In this clip from the upcoming release, the band discuss performing an early gig for a solitary audience member:

Produced by the award-winning Banger Films (Super Duper Alice Cooper; Peabody/ International Emmy award-winning Netflix series Hip-Hop Evolution), ZZ Top: That Little Ol’ Band From Texas, presented through the unique Banger Films lens, delivers the story of this power trio in an artistic style that complements the distinctive ZZ Top vibe. Originally premiered at a sold-out showing at the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood earlier this year, the film experienced a successful 10-week theatrical run via 150 screens nationally.

It unveils the story of three teenage blues musicians: guitarist Billy F Gibbons, bassist Dusty Hill, and drummer Frank Beard, as they went on to become international sensations. The film traces ZZ Top’s rich legacy, from their bar gig beginnings to their defining MTV era and meteoric rise to fame. In addition to interviews with the band members, the disc features conversations with such high-profile fans as Billy Bob Thornton and Joshua Homme (Queens Of the Stone Age), as well as never-before-seen archival footage. Shot exclusively for this film, an intimate ZZ Top performance at the historic Gruene Hall – the oldest dance hall in Texas – is intercut throughout the documentary.

Alongside the film, the DVD & Blu-ray also includes two live performance segments. 18 minutes of the Gruene Hall performance, along with the Ham Estate Archive, which spotlights rare pre-Eliminator ZZ Top concert footage from 1976 and 1981, complete the set.

Currently celebrating their half-century career with extensive tours of both Europe and North America, ZZ Top continues to inspire fans 50 years after their inception. That Little Ol’ Band From Texas takes a deep dive into the band’s history that’s truly an interesting ride.

DANNY DE LA ROSA - Former BABYLON A.D. Guitarist Releases "Third Wheel Man" Single; Lyric Video Streaming

Danny De La Rosa has released the second single, "Third Wheel Man", off of his debut solo album, 12 Weekends. Watch a lyric video for the song below, and get the album here.

"This song is a tongue in cheek story of a girl who wants to bring other girls into the relationship and gets mad because her boyfriend likes it too much, but he’s happily having a hard time keeping up," says Danny De La Rosa.

From the very beginning, Danny De La Rosa has been drawn to play the melodies he hears constantly in his head. “There was something about a distorted guitar and melodies that caught my attention at a very early age. It subconsciously and consciously pulled me in.”

Music and Danny are magnets that just attract. Songwriter, self-taught guitarist Danny De La Rosa left the band Babylon A.D. in 2017 and began working on his own personal development: writing his own style of music, learning and playing the instruments and establishing his own brand of hard rock-pop.

It has always been Danny’s dream to establish his own sound. “Writing and recording is my passion. I constantly hum and have melodies in my head. I can’t wait to record a second album as I have it written already.”

Tracklisting:

"Acid Flame"
"Third Wheel Man"
"It's Alright It's OK"
"The Mirror"
"The Secret"
"You Bring Me Down"
"Leave It Alone"
"So Low"
"As Weak As I Am"
"Downtown Slide"
"It's Alright It's OK" (Borracho Version)
