TOOL Pays Tribute To NEIL PEART During San Diego Concert (Video)
TOOL paid tribute to Neil Peart during the band's concert Friday night (January 10) at the Viejas Arena in San Diego, California. During Danny Carey's RUSH-tinged drum solo, a photo of Danny and the iconic RUSH drummer was projected on a massive screen behind the stage. TOOL also played a partial cover of RUSH's "A Passage To Bangkok" in tribute to Peart, whose death was announced earlier in the day and who was a huge inspiration for Carey. In addition, the "walk-out" music played after the concert was RUSH's "2112".
Five years ago, Carey and Peart joined former THE POLICE drummer Stewart Copeland for one of Stewart's "Super Grove" jam sessions. Copeland later shared video of the summit, a four-minute clip titled "A Little More Noise", via his YouTube channel.
Peart died on Tuesday (January 7) in Santa Monica, California after a three-year battle with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. He was 67 years old.
Peart joined RUSH in 1974. He was considered one of the best rock drummers of all time, alongside John Bonham of LED ZEPPELIN; Keith Moon of THE WHO; and Ginger Baker of CREAM. Peart was also RUSH's primary lyricist, drawing inspiration from everything from sci-fi to Ayn Rand.
Tool honored him last night. Passage to Bangkok snippet before Jambi. Pic of Neil and Danny on screen before Danny played a Rush tinged drum solo and lights up walk out music was 2112. Exit Stage Left for this mornings walk. So bummed. Truly one of the greats.

A couple nice tributes to Neil Peart last night at the Tool show by @adamjones_tv and Neil's heir to the greatest-drummer-on-earth throne, Danny Carey. This clip is unrelated, though, just my favorite guitar solo of… https://t.co/gqmxhAM1gB

NANCY WILSON On NEIL PEART: 'What A Immense Talent And Influence On The Course Of Rock Music For All Time'
HEART's Nancy Wilson has paid tribute to Neil Peart, who died on Tuesday (January 7) in Santa Monica, California after a three-year battle with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. The iconic RUSH drummer was 67 years old.
On Saturday (January 11), Wilson took to her Twitter to write: "So sad to learn Neil is gone. What a immense talent and influence on the course of rock music for all time. He was such a magical cornerstone in the Temple of Rush. Rush is forever timeless. #rush #NeilPeart"
In a 2013 interview with Huffington Post, Nancy stated about RUSH: "I am into RUSH. We are into RUSH now. We watched that documentary 'Beyond The Lighted Stage'. I found it so completely great, I took it on the road and me and [HEART singer] Ann and [other Wilson sister] Lynn watched it on our tour bus and we're, like, 'Oh my god! We get it! We understand where it comes from now.'"
She continued: "I wanted to check 'em out because they were so tight with our producer Ben Mink. He's one of Geddy Lee's oldest dearest friends from back in the day in the '70s, so we kind of ended up hooking up with them more recently and I wanted to check 'em out again because of him and because RUSH is kind of one of those bands that are kind of like a dog whistle that only men can hear."
Nancy said that she was always aware of RUSH's work but had now decided to take things to the next level.
"I've always liked a lot of their songs on the radio over the years, but I've never felt compelled to pick up their albums," she admitted. "But now I want to pick up their new one. We've become RUSH fans. … They've got this incredibly cool, complex… it's thinking man's rock. But it's also got a big tongue-in-cheek sense of humor, like when they're basting their rotisserie chickens on their backline and they've got their washing and drying going [on stage]. And the movie 'I Love You Man', too, was just hysterical."

Canadian Prime Minister JUSTIN TRUDEAU Pays Tribute To NEIL PEART: 'We've Lost A Legend'
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has paid tribute to RUSH drummer Neil Peart, who passed away on Tuesday (January 7) in Santa Monica, California after a three-year battle with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer.
"We've lost a legend," Trudeau tweeted. "But his influence and legacy will live on forever in the hearts of music lovers in Canada and around the world. RIP Neil Peart."
The Ontario-born musician joined the Canadian band in 1974.
THE POLICE drummer Stewart Copeland once called Peart "the most air-drummed-to drummer of all time."
RUSH had been completely inactive since completing its "R40 Live" tour five years ago.
Neil's survivors include his wife Carrie and daughter Olivia.
He was also the author of numerous books, including a number of memoirs exploring his life and travels.
In 1997, Peart and his bandmates — guitarist Alex Lifeson and bassist/vocalist Geddy Lee — became the first rock musicians to be inducted into the Order of Canada.
They were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2013.
We’ve lost a legend. But his influence and legacy will live on forever in the hearts of music lovers in Canada and around the world. RIP Neil Peart. ??

QUEEN Guitarist BRIAN MAY Opens Up About Holiday Depression That Paralyzed Him With 'Hopelessness' And 'Fear'
Brian May has opened up about his battle with depression, saying that he hasn't wanted to go outside most of this Christmas period because his face was "grim."
The QUEEN guitarist spoke out on Instagram, where he posted a photo of him smiling and offering a thumbs-up alongside a painting of another legendary musician, Jimi Hendrix.
"Inspiration for the next 10 years ? Thanks to my dear friend Joe Elliott @defleppard I have this great image of my hero Jimi Hendrix on my wall to remind me to keep reaching for the stars," he wrote.
Sensing that the sentiment might be perceived by some as a little too "glib," he continued: "Well, that's my brave face. Most of this Christmas period I haven't wanted to show my face because my face was grim."
He added: "There's something about this time of the year that paralyses me. Depression, hopelessness, fear … I get engulfed.
"Is it logical? No. Should I be grateful for my life and therefore NOT depressed? Yes. But none of that makes any difference when you look up and the colours have gone out of the world."
Nearly two decades ago, May admitted he felt suicidal after the death of QUEEN singer Freddie Mercury in 1991.
"My life was falling apart," he told Astronomy.com. "I was deeply depressed. I suppose I would call myself a spiritual person in a sense, but I don't really subscribe to any of the formal religions."
May, who is also an astrophysicist, added: "I went to this clinic in Tucson, Arizona, when I was very down, and they said, 'We have to find your spirituality — what you most enjoy.' At the time, I couldn't think of anything I enjoyed. I was just in a very black place. And then eventually I figured out, because of the beautiful skies there, that one of my greatest joys was just looking at the stars. So I feel anchored to the universe in some way. It's quite a powerful force in my life."
This spring, May will re-team with his QUEEN + ADAM LAMBERT bandmates for their European tour, which will launch in Italy on May 24, with its final stop in Madrid with two shows on July 7 and July 8. Along the way, it will play in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany and Switzerland, as well as the U.K., where dates will center around 10 London shows at The O2 beginning on June 2.

RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS Are Working On New Album With Guitarist JOHN FRUSCIANTE, Says CHAD SMITH
RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS drummer Chad Smith has confirmed that the band will make a new album with recently returned guitarist John Frusciante.
"John is back in the band and everyone knows that," Smith tells Rolling Stone. "We're psyched. The [2020] festivals are the only shows booked. For now, we'll mostly be concentrating on new songs and writing a new record. We're all real excited to make new music."
Asked to clarify that the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS are in the middle of creating a new record, Smith replied: "Yes. That's all I can say."
Last month, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS announced that they were parting ways with Josh Klinghoffer, who played on the band's last two studio albums, 2011's "I'm With You" and 2016's "The Getaway", and reuniting with Frusciante.
Frusciante joined RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS following the death of founding guitarist Hillel Slovak in 1988. This lineup recorded two highly successful albums that brought the group mainstream popularity: "Mother's Milk" and "Blood Sugar Sex Magik". Sadly, Frusciante fell into a deep heroin addiction that caused him to leave the band while touring to support "Blood Sugar Sex Magik". Frusciante rejoined CHILI PEPPERS six years later, playing on 1999 album "Californication", 2002's "By The Way" and 2006's "Stadium Arcadium" before quitting the band again in September 2009.
Frusciante last performed with RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS singer Anthony Kiedis and bassist Flea at a 2016 benefit concert.

DECARLO Featuring BOSTON's Tommy DECARLO Streaming New Song "A Better Day"
Frontiers Music Srl will release Decarlo’s debut album, entitled Lightning Strikes Twice, on January 24. Listen to the album track "A Better Day" below, and pre-order the album here.
The band Decarlo originated in Charlotte, North Carolina. Fronted by Tommy DeCarlo, best known for having performed with Boston since 2007, he co-founded the band with his son, guitarist Tommy DeCarlo Jr. As Tommy tells it, Tommy Jr. is truly the backbone of Decarlo. He has a great feel for what's going to work on stage, not just musically, but production wise, too and leads the charge in the band's performances. Of course no band is complete without a great supporting cast, which in Decarlo's case is provided by drummer Dan Hitz, bassist David Netta, and newest member Payton Velligan, who's a multi-talented keyboardist/guitarist/vocalist.
The band's debut album, Lightning Strikes Twice, is a very fine slice of melodic rock, deeply rooted in the sound of masters of the genre like Boston, Foreigner, Survivor, and REO Speedwagon.
"Without question, musically Tom Scholz has been my biggest influence. He along with Brad Delp created pure magic in the studio,” tells Tommy DeCarlo. "Brad with his amazing voice and Tom of course being one of the best songwriter/producers I've ever heard, touched not only me, but millions with their recordings. I could name quite a few other bands that influenced me as well, but none as much as the music of the band Boston!”
"We're very excited about the release of Lightning Strikes Twice!," continues Tommy. "As an artist/songwriter you're always going to be proud of your work, but there's nothing more gratifying than to please those who matter most...the fans! It's our hope that the music on this debut release will in some way/shape or form touch those who take the time to listen to it."

Fabrizio Grossi adds, “I am really excited to work with my buddies Serge, Tony, and Terry on this new adventure called Gang Of Souls. Terry will be the centerpiece and I am sure he’ll turn even more heads than what he’s been admirably doing since XYZ’s debut. He’s an amazing singer and a hell of a funny guy. I am glad the public will be able to get to know this other side of him. This record represents the type of straight ahead rock music that really makes us move. There won’t be any frills and sweetness, that I can promise, but lots of balls out groove, loud guitars, and soulful melodies.”
Musically, Gang Of Souls’ music will lean towards a classic hard rock sound with unforgettable melodies and a solid bluesy background. Think Bad Company meets early Foreigner, but with more current production. A release in the second half of 2020 is tentatively anticipated.

LOWRIDER - Swedish Desert Rock Pioneers To Release Refractions Album In February
On February 21, Blues Funeral Recordings will release Refractions, the searing new album from Sweden's Lowrider.
As the preeminent band out of the gate in the late 90s post-Kyuss wake, Lowrider's debut EP and seminal album, Ode To Lo, were foundational slabs at the dawn of stoner rock. The swinging metal offshoot grew quickly into a worldwide phenomenon, with Lowrider established as one of its undeniable trailblazers.
Following those early releases with a handful of compilation and soundtrack appearances and a period of relative inactivity, the band re-emerged at DesertFest Berlin in 2013. They've since blown minds at Hellfest, Keep it Low, DesertFests London and Belgium, Stoned from the Underground and Up in Smoke, and issued expanded remastered versions of their original records. All that was left was to give the world something new.
New album, Refractions, explodes with all the churning fuzz and expansive riff-heaviness for which the band are beloved, shot through with re-energized purpose and maturity. The grooves swing, the bottom end rumbles, and the melodies growl and soar, delivering at last on Lowrider's longing-to-be-fulfilled promise.
Before Monolord, Truckfighters, Greenleaf or Graveyard, one band blasted open the doors to announce Sweden's riff-heavy desert rock arrival. Now, at long last, Lowrider are back to deliver on their much-deserved mythic status.
Refractions will be released on digital, CD and LP from Blues Funeral Recordings on February 21. More details to follow.
Lineup:
Drums - Andreas Eriksson
Bass, Guitar, Vocals - Peder Bergstrand
Guitar - Niclas Stalfors
Lead Guitar, Vocals - Ola Hellquist

Chicago’s DITCHWATER Signs With Pavement Entertainment
Ditchwater has been a huge fixture in the Chicago music scene since 1993. Having endured all the changes in the music scene, they have weathered the storm and come out stronger each time. Always a band for the people, they have continued to build their brand of heavy rock and over the course of their career, released six independent albums all completely on their own and without hardly any outside help or influence.
In April of 2018 guitarist Mark Anderson and vocalist Mike Meadows began writing a new album. Leaving behind all past influences and concentrating on creating something unique yet true to the Ditchwater sound. Ten new blistering tracks (including a faithful yet modern take on the Motörhead classic “Iron Fist”) mixing heavy grooves blending emotional melodies with dramatic harmonic passages. The result: a guitar and vocal driven slab of pure energy and ambition.
The title, Never Say Never, is the 7th album in the Ditchwater catalog proving that the band is sounding bigger and better than ever before. The new and improved Ditchwater caught the ears and eyes of Pavement Entertainment. After signing to Pavement in 2020, the days of independence and having to do everything themselves have quickly come to an end. With a powerful and world renowned force behind them label wise, the 7th chapter of Ditchwater is sure to be the chapter for the rock and roll history books.

DAVE GROHL On NEIL PEART: 'His Power, Precision And Composition Was Incomparable'
Former NIRVANA drummer and current FOO FIGHTERS frontman Dave Grohl has paid tribute to RUSH's Neil Peart, who passed away on Tuesday (January 7) in Santa Monica, California after a three-year battle with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer.
Grohl, who inducted RUSH into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2013, wrote in a statement: "Today, the world lost a true giant in the history of rock & roll. An inspiration to millions with an unmistakable sound who spawned generations of musicians (like myself) to pick up two sticks and chase a dream. A kind, thoughtful, brilliant man who ruled our radios and turntables not only with his drumming, but also his beautiful words."
Grohl continued: "I still vividly remember my first listen of '2112' when I was young. It was the first time I really listened to a drummer. And since that day, music has never been the same. His power, precision, and composition was incomparable. He was called 'The Professor' for a reason: We all learned from him.
"Thank you, Neil, for making our lives a better place with your music. You will be forever remembered and sorely missed by all of us. And my heartfelt condolences to the RUSH family.
"God bless Neil Peart."
Grohl's FOO FIGHTERS bandmate Taylor Hawkins simply said: "Neil Peart had the hands of God. End of story."
In a 2013 Rolling Stone interview, Grohl said that it was Peart's work that inspired him to pick up the drumsticks. "When I got '2112' when I was eight years old, it fucking changed the direction of my life. I heard the drums. It made me want to become a drummer," Grohl said.
Grohl went on to recount how he met Peart for the first time during rehearsals for the Rock Hall ceremony. "I was coming to rehearsal and I was meeting Neil for the first time, and this man was as influential as any religion or any hero or any person in someone's life. He said, 'So nice to meet you. Can I make you a coffee?' And he made me a coffee, man," Grohl said. "And later on that night, I went to dinner and had a couple glasses of wine, and I started fucking crying because my hero made me a fucking coffee. It was unbelievable, man. So that's kind of how this whole experience has been."
RUSH had been completely inactive since completing its "R40 Live" tour four years ago.
Neil's survivors include his wife Carrie and daughter Olivia.
He was also the author of numerous books, including a number of memoirs exploring his life and travels.
In 1997, Peart and his bandmates became the first rock musicians to be inducted into the Order of Canada.
They were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2013.

We've always shared a unique emotional connection to our music with our fans, and this album attributes to those dark times and euphoric ones. From wherever you joined along the road to 'Aurora', this one is for you. Thank you."
Highlights on "Aurora" include the new track "Far Away", "Dear Agony", which just celebrated its 10th anniversary on September 29, as well as "So Cold" and "Red Cold River", both of which were No. 1 rock radio hits.

This is the magic of BREAKING BENJAMIN songs that I love. Ben asked me to sing on this acoustic version of 'Dear Agony' at a time when singing the lyrics sliced through me in a deeply prophetic way. It was a revelatory and healing experience. I'm so thankful."
Ward stated: "I'm very honored and blessed to be a part of such a beautiful song and project. Ben's writing has had a special place in our hearts for many years. Thankful to be a part of this."

I'm REALLY stoked that Ben and I have finally found a way to get our voices on a track together. Also, 'Dance With The Devil' is one of my favorite songs by anyone. Ever."
Chamberlain said: "Touring with BREAKING BENJAMIN was not only one of my favorite tours we've done in years but we also left the tour with lifelong friends. Being asked to sing on 'Red Cold River' was very flattering and a complete honor. I love these guys as musicians and as people, I'm honored to be a small part of their journey.”
Barnes said: "I was honored to be a part of BREAKING BENJAMIN's new acoustic record along side so many other amazing singers. Can't wait to hear the whole thing!" | 0

Ulrich took to his Instagram to write: "Thank you Neil. Thank you for inspiring me and for all your help and advice along the way, especially in the early days when you took the time to talk to a young green Danish drummer about recording, gear and the possibilities that lay ahead... Thank you for what you did for drummers all over the world with your passion, your approach, your principles and your unwavering commitment to the instrument! Rest In Peace."
RUSH had been completely inactive since completing its "R40 Live" tour four years ago. Peart previously said that playing concerts at his age caused too much painful wear and tear on his body and he'd rather call it quits before the performances start declining in quality.

GOTTHARD To Release '#13' Album In March
Swiss rockers GOTTHARD will release their 13th studio album, "#13", on March 13 via Nuclear Blast Records. The official music video for the disc's first single, "Missteria", can be seen below.
Leo Leoni comments: "It´s been great fun writing a track with Francis again, and with 'Missteria', I believe we delivered a real killer!"
Among the usual straight-up rock and roll that GOTTHARD is known for, "#13" offers remarkable variety between songs — such as the powerful opener "Bad News", the fast hard-and-heavy "Every Time I Die", the straight-to-the-point lyrical message of "Man On A Mission", old-school blues-rock with "Another Last Time", epic ballads like "I Can Say I'm Sorry" and unbridled '70s psychedelia with "Rescue Me".
Aside from the obvious standout of the record, the cover of ABBA's world-famous hit "SOS", the first single "Missteria" confidently displays the band's passion for experimentation that is on show throughout "#13". The eccentric track, whihc was written in collaboration with none other than Francis Rossi himself, combines an unmistakeable rock structure with flourishes of oriental instrumentation and is a perfect basis for the video, recorded at the Madi-Zelt in Berlin. Exotic mysticism, the sense of illusion and sensual dancers that remind the watcher of Salma Hayek's legendary appearance in "From Dusk Till Dawn", frame the band's performance between velvet, deceptive mirrors, fog and fascinating LED effects.
After 16 #1 albums, over three million records sold worldwide and more than 2000 live shows, "#13" proves that GOTTHARD, even after 25 years, still knows how to provide its fans with exactly what they love about the band. "#13" was produced by U.S. producer Paul Lani, while Leo Leoni upheld the role of co-producer for the album. The recordings of "#13" took place at the Yellow House Studio in Lugano, while the mixing was done in Los Angeles and the final touches were added by the renowned Darcy Proper at Valhalla Studios in New York.
"#13" will be available on CD (jewelcase) with 13 tracks and as a special edition collector’s box (including a digipack with two bonus tracks, a bandana and a poster-booklet) as well as a double LP with two bonus tracks.
"#13" track listing:
01. Bad News
02. Every Time I Die
03. Missteria
04. 10,000 Faces
05. S.O.S.
06. Another Last Time
07. Better Than Love
08. Save The Date
09. Marry You
10. Man On A Mission
11. No Time To Cry
12. I Can Say I'm Sorry
13. Rescue Me
Bonus tracks:
14. No Time To Cry (Demo Version)
15. I Can Say I'm Sorry (Piano Version)
GOTTHARD kicks off its German tour this April, joined by MAGNUM as special guest, before returning to Switzerland with old friends from SHAKRA.

TĒTĒMA Featuring MIKE PATTON And ANTHONY PATERAS: 'Necroscape' Album Due In April
TĒTĒMA, the bi-continental outfit featuring Mike Patton (FAITH NO MORE, MR. BUNGLE) and the Melbourne-based, electro-acoustic artist Anthony Pateras, return with their sophomore album, the mind-bending "Necroscape" (April 3, Ipecac Recordings).
An early preview of the spring release can be heard now, with "Haunted On The Uptake", a track Pateras describes as sounding "like THE MELVINS' tour van broke down in the Balkans and instead of going home, they decide to open a mountain laboratory dedicated to possible hybrids of Rembetika and hardcore," streaming now.
"Necroscape" is sculpted around isolation in the surveillance age; and although lofty/high-concept sounding, it is still an intensely fun and heavy listen. "Necroscape" synthesizes a lot of territory: odd-time rock, musique concrète, otherworld grooves, soul, industrial noise, microtonal psychoacoustics… seemingly strange bedfellows on paper, yet they seamlessly coalesce into 13 songs which playfully challenge our notions of sonic logic and make you move at the same time. In a nutshell, listening to "Necroscape" creates the weird sensation of exclaiming "of course!" and "wtf?" simultaneously.
"Necroscape" track listing:
01. Necroscape
02. Cutlass Eye
03. Wait Till Mornin'
04. Haunted On The Uptake
05. All Signs Uncensored
06. Milked Out Million
07. Soliloquy
08. Flatliner's Owl
09. Dead Still
10. Invertebrate
11. We'll Talk Inside A Dream
12. Sun Undone
13. Funerale Di Un Contadino
Pateras and Patton "created an intelligent but ferocious mixture of avant-garde experimentalism, world music accents, and heavy metal velocity" (All Music) within the confines of their 11-track, 2014 debut, "Geocidal". NME described the collection as "Roni Size getting spiked with GHB and fed through a woodchipper" while Alternative Press said, "once you are acclimated, it will leave you tingling." The pair, joined by Will Guthrie (percussion) and Erkka Veltheim (violin), both of whom appear on "Necroscape" as well, made their live debut, fittingly at the Tasmania Mona music and art festival. The Guardian said of the outing: "TĒTĒMA didn't enrapture with anthems or token festival rock gestures, they enraptured with mood, with surprises, and with evocations rarely felt by audiences…"

ME AND THAT MAN's 'New Man, New Songs, Same S**t, Vol. 1' Album To Feature Members Of SLIPKNOT, MASTODON, TRIVIUM
The dark veil between Nergal's enigmatic blackened blues project and its dedicated congregation has finally been lifted. Napalm Records has announced the official release of ME AND THAT MAN's sophomore full-length album, titled "New Man, New Songs, Same Shit, Vol. 1", on March 27. It will be celebrated with a special record-release show in London on the same day, including special guests from the album.
Three years after their initial debut, ME AND THAT MAN has returned with an offering that is indeed different from the first, but in no way less brilliant. The mysterious collective has surpassed themselves with their bewitching new collection — featuring ominous lyricism atop unfiltered blues, gothic-laced folk, outlaw country and Americana-influenced anthems. The enthralling album visits a completely new spectrum of dark desert vibes and sees notable heavy music icons such as Corey Taylor (SLIPKNOT), Brent Hinds (MASTODON), Matt Heafy (TRIVIUM), Ihsahn (EMPEROR) and Sivert Høyem (MADRUGADA) join the pact with the devil. "New Man, New Songs, Same Shit, Vol. 1" is a diversified, dynamic masterpiece that presents Nergal in a completely new light, providing a strong contrast to the heavier sounds of BEHEMOTH. Evil has truly never sounded so good.
Nergal comments: "With the utmost pride and… kind of relief;,I present to you, the second ME AND THAT MAN album — 'New Man, New Songs, Same Shit, Vol. 1'. This time 'round, I wanted to take on a different challenge and curated an album of 11 songs — each with their own character and vibe, alongside the most talented and important individuals across the whole scene. Together, we take trips to the lands of blues, folk, country and even spaghetti western. Only time will tell if we hit the mark, but I deeply believe so. I'm very proud of this piece of work and it has been a monumental task to achieve.
"I would like to thank EACH one of our guests for being part of this project: Mat and Matt, Niklas and Jørgen, Corey, Alan, Addi, Brent, Vegard, Sivert, Anders, Rob, Jerome, Johanna and Nicke. I LOVE you all from here to the moon and back! Without the passion and heart you granted us, this wouldn't have been possible!"
After just having released the upbeat "Run With The Devil" featuring Jørgen Munkeby of the Norwegian blackjazz collective SHINING and the outlaw-infused "Burning Churches" featuring Mat McNerney of GRAVE PLEASURES, ME AND THAT MAN have dropped a third single — the gloomy, soulful "Surrender", cut from "New Man, New Songs, Same Shit, Vol. 1". The track features the Swedish industrial doom blues standout DEAD SOUL and Rob Caggiano's (VOLBEAT) distinctive guitar playing. It shows yet another aspect of the band's versatility.
"New Man, New Songs, Same Shit, Vol. 1" track listing:
01. Run With The Devil (feat. Jørgen Munkeby of SHINING)
02. Coming Home (feat. Siver Høyem of MADRUGADA)
03. Burning Churches (feat. Mat McNerney of GRAVE PLEASURES)
04. By The River (feat. Ihsahn of EMPEROR)
05. Męstwo
06. Surrender (feat. Anders Landelius of DEAD SOUL)
07. Deep Down South (feat. Nicke Anderson of ENTOMBED / Johanna Sadonis of LUCIFER)
08. Man Of The Cross (feat. Jerome Reuter of ROME)
09. You Will Be Mine (feat. Matt Heafy of TRIVIUM)
10. How Come? (feat. Corey Taylor of SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR) / Brent Hinds of MASTODON)
11. Confession (feat. Niklas Kvarforth of SHINING)
ME AND THAT MAN released its debut album, "Songs Of Love And Death", in 2017 — introducing the world to its unique brand of folk and blues, mixed with hints of outlaw country. The atmospherically dark album provided a strong contrast to BEHEMOTH with its catchy melodies and relaxed rhythms, and gave Nergal space to express his creativity in a different setting. Since its release, the album's lead single, "My Church Is Black", has racked up over 2.5 million streams on Spotify.
Darski has been a fixture in the music industry for years. As the frontman of black/death metal band BEHEMOTH, Darski has been known to preach unholy sermons, praise Satan and sing about explicit blasphemy. Naturally, the next step was to channel those themes into another genre commonly dubbed as the Devil's music — blues. ME AND THAT MAN is exactly that — Nergal's solo project will surprise and bewitch the listener. The visionary creative founded the band in an effort to showcase his true ability to adapt to any genre. In summer 2018, British/Polish rock musician John Porter left ME AND THAT MAN after the band completed a number of gigs in support of "Songs Of Love And Death".

Listen To BUCKCHERRY's Collaboration With Rapper WIFISFUNERAL On 'Crazy Bitch' Remix
Californian rockers BUCKCHERRY have teamed up with American rapper and songwriter Isaiah Rivera, better known by his stage name Wifisfuneral, for a remix of their smash hit "Crazy Bitch". "Crazy Bitch (The Butcher Mix)" can now be streamed below.
The 2020 version of "Crazy Bitch" was produced by Joe "The Butcher" Nicolo (from the Butcher Bros. team) in collaboration with Tyler Nicolo and BUCKCHERRY guitarist Stevie D. Joe Nicolo and the Butcher Bros. have been nominated 13 times by The Recording Academy and have won nine Grammys to date. They have worked with an array of awe-inspiring artists that include NINE INCH NAILS, THE ROLLING STONES, NAS, and many more. Joe Nicolo also served as co-founder of Ruffhouse Records (FUGEES, LAURYN HILL, WYCLEF JEAN).
Josh Todd from BUCKCHERRY comments: "From the birth of 'Crazy Bitch', it came to me as a hip-hop track and that being said, I always wanted to do a collaboration with a hip-hop artist. Wifisfuneral is super talented and after sifting through potential featured artists he was our first choice and was down for the cause."
Wifisfuneral offers: "It's really relatable. I mean…haven't we ALL dealt with a crazy one somewhere along the way?!"
The original version of "Crazy Bitch" appeared on BUCKCHERRY's multi-platinum third album, 2005's "15". Todd discussed the LP's unexpected success during a recent appearance on the "Appetite For Distortion" podcast. He said: "This is when MySpace is happening, and 'Crazy Bitch' was getting all these views or listens... people were playing that song," he recalled. "It was over a million, and we were, like, 'Oh my God — what is going on with this song?' All of a sudden, radio DJs started editing a clean version of the song and put it on the radio. We didn't even ask. We were like, 'Oh my God — this song's taking off on its own,' and we jumped on 'Crazy Bitch'… And it just changed the scope of our career... It almost didn't even make the record. It had been sitting around for a while. We just thought it would be a good crowd tune — like, our core fans would really like it and it'd be fun to play live. We didn't think much of it because of the lyrical content."
In a separate interview with Vegas Rocks! magazine, Todd stated about the inspiration for "Crazy Bitch": "The idea came to me when I was driving around in L.A. at the time. Paris Hilton put out these sex tapes — or, I don't think she put them out; I don't know how they came out. But basically, she launched her entertainment career with some homemade porn, and I just thought that was funny. Then I started reminiscing about my youth, and I had a lot of crazy girls that I had met when I was younger. I just started singing [the] chorus of 'Crazy Bitch', and I just wanted to record it. I think I called my mom, because I didn't have an iPhone or anything at that time. I called my mom to record it on her [answering] machine so I wouldn't forget it. I just said, 'Don't erase this — I want to remember it. We'll talk about it later.'"
BUCKCHERRY is continuing to tour in support of its latest album, "Warpaint", which was released in March 2019 via Century Media/RED Music. The 12-song record was produced by Mike Plotnikoff, whose previous collaboration with the band was the aforementioned "15". | 0

Listen To New MAGNUM Song 'Where Are You Eden?'
"Where Are You Eden?", a new song from British rock legends MAGNUM, can be streamed below. The track is taken from the band's upcoming album, "The Serpent Rings", which will be released on January 17 through Steamhammer/SPV as a CD digipak, 2LP gatefold version, limited box set, download and stream.
MAGNUM guitarist Tony Clarkin is a man who seems to never stop working. He is responsible for writing all the material released by the band, and on top of that he produces their albums from the very first demo to the final mix. "As soon as the album is finished, I start to collect new ideas," he explains. "That's how I've worked since the early seventies, for me that's the ideal method." On their latest album, "The Serpent Rings", Clarkin and MAGNUM's other original member, vocalist Bob Catley, prove all over again just how perfectly this established system works.
MAGNUM has recorded eleven new songs which feature all the traditional strengths of the British act and also live up to the band's ambition to explore a more rock-oriented direction. "The Serpent Rings" presents MAGNUM the way the musicians themselves like it: rocking and at the same time melodic, straightforward but also a little playful, powerful as well as sensitive with enchanted lyrics but also with a socio-critical approach.
"The Serpent Rings" was recorded by the MAGNUM lineup consisting of Clarkin, Catley, keyboardist Rick Benton and drummer Lee Morris, plus their latest addition, bassist Dennis Ward (PINK CREAM 69, PLACE VENDOME, UNISONIC, among others), who joined the fold to replace Al Barrow.
MAGNUM's major European tour has been scheduled to start in March, initially with a number of headlining shows, to be continued by a first-rate package together with GOTTHARD from Switzerland. This extremely successful collaboration first passed the litmus test a few years ago, and Clarkin, Catley & Co. are very enthusiastic.
"Along with some classic numbers, we will also present four or five songs from 'The Serpent Rings'," the band promises, providing even more reasons for their fans to mark the dates in their calendars.
Track listing:
01. Where Are You Eden?
02. You Can't Run Faster Than Bullets
03. Madman Or Messiah
04. The Archway Of Tears
05. Not Forgiven
06. The Serpent Rings
07. House Of Kings
08. The Great Unknown
09. Man
10. The Last One On Earth

TUK SMITH & THE RESTLESS HEARTS Added To 'The Stadium Tour' Featuring MÖTLEY CRÜE, DEF LEPPARD
TUK SMITH & THE RESTLESS HEARTS have been added to this summer's "The Stadium Tour", featuring MÖTLEY CRÜE, DEF LEPPARD and JOAN JETT & THE BLACKHEARTS.
After cutting his teeth — among many other things — for nine years as the frontman for the Atlanta rock band BITERS, Tuk's solo debut sees him further expanding the reaches of his musical vision into an album that unifies multiple musical styles. Tuk's debut album, "Lookin' For Love, Ready For War", showcases the versatility of his songwriting. From instantly infectious anthems to intricately arranged rockers and Americana-tinged ballads the album favors dedication over debauchery. In many ways, it's a musical homecoming for Smith that shows that though he's covered with battle scars from perfecting his craft, he's come out on the other side with an amazing collection of songs.
Legendary producer Rob Cavallo (GREEN DAY, ERIC CLAPTON, MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE) states: "People that really like honest-to-god rock and roll — this is the kind of stuff they'll love. If you are a Tom Petty fan or a Bruce Springsteen fan, if you like really great old-fashioned American rock and roll, then I believe you'll like Tuk's music, because it's cut from that same cloth. It's original and it is its own thing, I think he's the real deal."
"What Kinda Love" is an instantly infectious anthem that unifies Tuk's love of rock, punk and glam into a unique amalgam of what's missing from today's musical landscape. "What Kinda Love" has Joan-Jett-meets-John Mellencamp grandeur and is part of a collection of songs that are a testament to the fact that you don't need to follow trends in order to create art that fosters a connection with your audience.
Tuk produced and wrote the video, of which he explains: "I think when people first hear the song, they might not get its meaning right away. I wanted to create a narrative in the video that helped complement the lyrics. Having full creative vision as an artist is as rewarding as it is daunting. If something doesn't pan out right, there is no one to blame but yourself, but it's the best feeling when your vision becomes reality. I had so many close friends and family act, be extras, and work on videos with me. I'm so lucky to have such a pool of talent and characters to pull from." | +1

REVOLUTION SAINTS Feat. BLADES, ALDRICH, CASTRONOVO: 'Closer' Lyric Video
REVOLUTION SAINTS, the band featuring Deen Castronovo (JOURNEY, BAD ENGLISH), Doug Aldrich (THE DEAD DAISIES, WHITESNAKE, DIO), and Jack Blades (NIGHT RANGER, DAMN YANKEES), will release its third full-length studio album, "Rise", on January 24 via Frontiers Music Srl.
The official lyric video for the song "Closer" can be seen below.
As with the first two well-received albums, REVOLUTION SAINTS are bringing back the classic melodic rock style that thrilled and delighted legions of fans in the '80s and '90s and still does today. Inspiring, uplifting vocals, soaring melodies, and musicianship to die for is what you get in spades here.
Superbly handling drums and lead vocals is the one and only Castronovo. Already renowned for his drum talents and backing vocals in JOURNEY, BAD ENGLISH, and more, Deen's excellent vocal talents are once again receiving a well-deserved spotlight on this release. On bass, and co-lead vocals on a few tracks, Blades is well known for his melodic, yet hard-rocking approach to songwriting and playing via multiple classic albums by his main band NIGHT RANGER, as well as with the DAMN YANKEES and the SHAW/BLADES releases. On guitar, Aldrich lends his fiery guitar attack to round out this dream-come-true melodic rock band. Doug, who left WHITESNAKE after a fruitful 12-year run (including co-writing 2010's critically acclaimed "Forevermore" release) and also of BURNING RAIN and formerly of DIO, has a deep pedigree and is one of today’s most respected rock guitarists.
You can tell by the name — and the names involved — that REVOLUTION SAINTS is not going to be your average rock 'n roll band. The project is the vision of Frontiers' president Serafino Perugino, who for years had hoped to work on a project where Deen would be the lead vocalist. Having previously worked with all three artists on different projects on Frontiers, having Deen, Jack and Doug on board together was a dream come true for Perugino
With production overseen by more and more in demand in-house Frontiers man Alessandro Del Vecchio, the recording process took place in Milan and in Doug and Jack's own studios in California and Seattle. Songwriting was handled by Del Vecchio, Aldrich, and Blades, with contributions from fellow Frontiers recording artist Dan Rossall (of U.K. newcomers PASSION). Of special note, the poignant ballad "Eyes Of A Child" was penned by Jack Blades and Tommy Shaw.
"Rise" track listing:
01. When The Heartache Has Gone
02. Price To Pay
03. Rise
04. Coming Home
05. Closer
06. Higher
07. Talk To Me
08. It's Not The End (It's Just The Beginning)
09. Million Miles
10. Win Or Lose
11. Eyes Of A Child
Lineup:
Deen Castronovo: lead vocals, drums
Jack Blades: bass, vocals
Doug Aldrich: guitars
Featuring:
Alessandro Del Vecchio: keyboards, backing vocals,
Lunakaire: guest vocals on "Talk To Me"

Video Premiere: SONS OF APOLLO's 'Desolate July'
"Desolate July", the new Christian Rios-directed video from SONS OF APOLLO — featuring former DREAM THEATER members Mike Portnoy and Derek Sherinian, Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal (ex-GUNS N' ROSES), Billy Sheehan (THE WINERY DOGS, MR. BIG, DAVID LEE ROTH) and Jeff Scott Soto (ex-JOURNEY, ex-YNGWIE MALMSTEEN'S RISING FORCE) — can be seen below. The song is taken from SONS OF APOLLO's second studio album, "MMXX" (pronounced: 20/20), which will be released on January 17 via InsideOut Music/Sony. Produced by The Del Fuvio Brothers (Portnoy and Sherinian), "MMXX" will be made available as a standard CD package, limited-edition 2 CD package (which includes instrumental mixes and a cappella excerpts), 2 LP + CD package, and on all digital formats.
"Desolate July" is a tribute to musician David Z, who tragically passed away in 2017.
Soto comments: "From the few seconds of hearing this song, it guided me to write the lyrics about our dear friend and colleague, David Z. David was one of the greatest, funniest and kindest humans I have ever known. He had friendships with most all of us in SONS OF APOLLO, but Mike and I were certainly the closest. I thought it fitting to include this tribute to him from us in this haunting, incredible body of music."
Adds Portnoy: "This video is a great tribute to our dear friend David Z. Jeff and I were particularly close with him and I was honored that Jeff invited me to sing the harmonies with him on the choruses for us to both share our love for our friend that was tragically taken from us way too soon."
"MMXX" track listing:
01. Goodbye Divinity (7:16)
02. Wither To Black (4:48)
03. Asphyxiation (5:09)
04. Desolate July (6:11)
05. King Of Delusion (8:49)
06. Fall To Ascend (5:07)
07. Resurrection Day (5:51)
08. New World Today (16:38)
"Stylistically, we have followed the same path as the debut," outlines Portnoy. "But we feel that it has come out stronger, simply because we know one another better. 'Psychotic Symphony' was the first time the five of us had worked together, so there was bound to be an air of experimentation happening. Now, we can draw on having the experience not only of recording that album, but also of touring together a lot. And now there is clearly a lot more obvious chemistry going on."
"We did 83 shows on the last tour," adds keyboardist Derek Sherinian. "And it was so worthwhile, because we came out of it with a stronger bond, and that is certainly reflected in what we wrote."
The writing process began at the start of the year, as Portnoy, Sherinian and guitarist Thal got together. "The three of us were at my home studio in Pennsylvania," explains Portnoy. "And it took about three weeks to get all the music written. That was a very smooth process. The last time, it certainly must have felt a little weird for Bumblefoot to be writing with Derek and me, because we were strangers to him. Now, we know one another better and that helped things push along."
"Because we all have our home studios, it meant everyone could record there as and when they had opportunity," continues Sherinian. "We all had the luxury of being able to take our time to get all the parts done, which was a huge help in the way the album's come out. I suppose in all, it took about eight months to record everything."
The lyrics were written by Soto, who also came up with the melody lines with input from Sherinian. "While Jeff was left to come up with the words on his own, as the melody lines are part of the music, it made sense for me to be involved with that part," says the keyboard player.
There are eight tracks on "MMXX", with variations in length totaling 60 minutes. "The final song is 'New World Today', which is 16 minutes long," says Portnoy. "This one has elements similar to 'Opus Maximus' and 'Labyrinth' on the previous album. It has some insane, brilliant instrumental moments, which I am sure the fans will love."
"We wanted to do something epic here, as we did with 'Opus Maximus' last time around," adds Sherinian. "You have to remember that Mike and I come from DREAM THEATER, where we never bothered about how long a song was. So, for us doing a 16-minute track is not a problem."
The album title was inspired by a simple chronological fact. "This will be released in mid-January 2020," says Portnoy. "That means it will be one of the first releases in what is a new decade. So I came up with the idea of calling it '2020', except having it written in the Latin form of 'MMXX'." And the album's artwork has been created by Thomas Ewerhard (who was responsible for the cover design of "Psychotic Symphony"), which inevitably reflects the title. As Portnoy explains, "For the first record, we had a mythological feel. This time around though, there's a much more futuristic style to what we've got. It has a very 21st century appeal. And the band crest is more polished, cleaned up and a lot more modern than last time, when it had an old-fashioned look."
"Each member of this band has their own signature sound on their instrument," adds Sherinian. "And when you put all of this together what you get is a wonderful five-headed beast. It makes this a sonically special band, which is definitely what comes across on 'MMXX'. You can hear odd time signatures and amazingly crazy performances here. Overall, we've been satisfyingly more adventurous this time than we were before, and I know people are sure to love what we've done."
In touring news, the band's headlining "MMXX" world tour will launch January 24 in Pomona, California and will take them around the world throughout the new year. They have also just announced European tour dates for March 2020. | +9
