Queensrÿche is gearing up to hit the road for The Verdict 2020 Headline Tour, which includes special guests John 5 and Eve To Adam. The band will be on tour starting January 17 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and wrapping up on February 27 in Orlando, Florida.

CREMATORY Release "The Downfall" Single And Lyric Video; Unbroken Album Details Revealed
Welcome to the panopticon of darkness: German gothic pioneers, Crematory, continue to perform the tightrope act in the somber void with their brand new single, “The Downfall”, along with an artful black and white lyric video.
The first single introduces not just a new chapter, but prepares fans for their upcoming fifteenth album, Unbroken, to be released on March 6 via Napalm Records.
“The Downfall” offers the powerful reincarnation of the sinister Crematory universe: Opening bell-bright, devilish sounds in addition to Felix Stass’ rough and scratchy vocals underline the night-black narrative. Dark yet melodic guitar lines mixed with staccato rhythms make this song a true eye-opener and emphasize that the band is right back in the middle of the musical black ceremony. Welcome insanity that Crematory has written. Watch the clip below.
With Unbroken, the German pioneers of gothic metal present 15 energetic tracks boasting brutal riffs, deep growls and tight drum grooves - proving their diversity even after almost 30 years in the business. In addition to the concise influences of Neue Deutsche Härte, Unbroken appears as a bravura-piece in an industrial guise.
Crematory states: “Yes, we’re back with gothic rock’n’roll at its finest: A tough mixture of gothic and metal in a classifying Crematory kind of style. Those who liked our old hit 'The Fallen' will love our new single 'The Downfall'. Just the right song as an appetizer for our new album and the following tour in April.”

ABBATH Is Almost Two Months Sober
Former IMMORTAL frontman Abbath, who currently leads his own namesake band, has released a video message ahead of ABBATH's European tour, which is scheduled to kick off at the end of the month. In the short clip, recorded on January 5, Abbath — whose real name is Olve Eikemo — reveals that he is almost two months sober now following the cancelation of several shows on ABBATH's South American fall 2019 trek.
In late November, Abbath issued a statement saying that he had been battling addiction and vowing to commit himself to a rehab program that would help him "get clean once and for all."
Abbath's decision to enter rehab came just a couple of weeks after ABBATH played a disastrous two-song concert in Buenos Aires, Argentina, resulting in some fans requesting a refund.
ABBATH was touring South America in support of its second album, "Outstrider", which was released last July via Season Of Mist.
"Outstrider" marked ABBATH's second release since the frontman's exit from IMMORTAL. The highly publicized legal battle in 2014 over the rights to the IMMORTAL name pitted Abbath against co-founder Demonaz (real name: Harald Nævdal) and drummer Horgh (real name: Reidar Horghagen), with Abbath claiming the pair abandoned IMMORTAL after they moved their gear out of the band's rehearsal space. The Norwegian court systems determined otherwise, and awarded the IMMORTAL name to Demonaz.

IRON MAIDEN Singer BRUCE DICKINSON Made Honorary Group Captain In ROYAL AIR FORCE
According to the Forces Network, IRON MAIDEN frontman Bruce Dickinson has been officially attested into the Royal Air Force, the United Kingdom's aerial warfare force. The British singer has been awarded the role of Honorary Group Captain.
Dickinson will attend the Royal Air Force Fencing Open in June and could compete in the competition, as well as this year's RAF Championships.
Bruce started out fencing at the age of 13 in school, but only after being convinced by a teacher to try it. When he got into fencing, he discovered that it not only was about physical training, but giving the brain some exercise as well.
Five years ago, Dickinson was diagnosed with stage 3 throat cancer after doctors discovered a golf ball-size tumor on his tongue and another in the lymph node on the right side of his neck.
The singer got the all-clear in May 2015 after radiation and nine weeks of chemotherapy and later covered his cancer battle in his 2017 autobiography, "What Does This Button Do?"
Dickinson joined IRON MAIDEN in 1981, replacing Paul Di'Anno, and made his recording debut with the band on the 1982 album "The Number Of The Beast". He quit the band in 1993, pursuing several solo projects, and rejoined in 1999.
Dickinson, who turned 61 in August, has several other interests beyond music. He is a licensed commercial pilot and owns an aviation company. He has also done some acting and brewed beer.

ANNIHILATOR Frontman JEFF WATERS Teases New Album In Latest Gear Video
The following video update features Annihilator frontman / founder Jeff Waters being Jeff Waters...
"In studio with killer new Eventide and some guitar soloing stuff (not at all from new Annihilator music!!!). Ssshhh..."
Annihilator have released the official video for "Psycho Ward". The thought-provoking track centred on domestic violence, comes by way of the band's seventeenth studio album, Ballistic, Sadistic, set for release on January 24 via Silver Lining Music.
"Psycho Ward" is yet another example of the band's return to their roots with a contemporary twist. Issues founding guitarist, vocalist, producer and principal songwriter Jeff Waters of the track, "'Psycho Ward' takes us back to the musical vibe of Never, Neverland's 'Stonewall' but with a drastically-different lyrical theme: domestic violence and abuse. I've written quite a few songs on this subject since the '90s. But this song is the perfect combination of 'old-school' metal meeting the right lyrical and vocal delivery to get the point across. Enjoy, 'old-school' metal fans. Welcome, the new!"
Waters has posted some raw tracks laid down during the making of "Psycho Ward". Check out the clips below.
A name that should need no introduction in the metal world, Annihilator was forged in Canada in late 1984. Since then, the band has been touring and releasing records, selling millions of albums to date, nonstop, for over thirty years. Cited by bands like Megadeth, Pantera, Dream Theater, Children Of Bodom, Lamb Of God, Opeth, Trivium, and so many more as having influence on their music, Jeff Waters and Annihilator have continued to tour the world, year after year, whilst consistently putting out high-quality true-metal music. It takes a long time to reach legendary status, and no one can dispute that Annihilator are inspirations, teachers, legends, and a force demonstrating what hard work and love of your craft can bring to the world.
Produced, engineered, and mixed by Waters, Ballistic, Sadistic was recorded at the brand new, state of the art Watersound Studios UK, in Durham earlier this year with additional engineering and editing by bassist Rich Hinks and mastering by Maor Appelbaum at Maor Appelbaum Mastering in California.
Ballistic, Sadistic will be available in limited-edition digipak, vinyl, and digital formats. For pre-orders, head here.

THE DEAD DAISIES Complete Recording First Album With GLENN HUGHES
THE DEAD DAISIES — the hard rock "collective" founded by Australian musician and businessman David Lowy — has completed recording its new album at La Fabrique Studios in the south of France. The disc, which is tentatively due in the spring, will serve as the follow-up to the group's fourth full-length release, 2018's "Burn It Down".
Last August, THE DEAD DAISIES released "Righteous Days", the band's first song to feature Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE, BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION), who joined the group earlier in the year as its new bassist and vocalist, replacing John Corabi (MÖTLEY CRÜE) and Marco Mendoza (THIN LIZZY).
A statement on the group's web site elaborated on the lineup change. "THE DEAD DAISIES are a musical collective whose members come together through a common love for great rock music," the post reads. "It's a living, breathing, musical organism with the credo, 'Rock is indeed alive & well!' From the band's inception, the idea was for members to bring their own ideas to the table but also have the flexibility to come and go when working on their other projects. Both John and Marco are, and always will be, a part of THE DEAD DAISIES musical family, but at this point in time they have decided to do some work on their own solo projects."
THE DEAD DAISIES — Lowy, Hughes, guitarist Doug Aldrich (WHITESNAKE, DIO) and drummer Deen Castronovo (JOURNEY, BAD ENGLISH) — recorded "Righteous Days" and an undisclosed number of other songs at Los Angeles's Sunset Sound studio last year.
According to Wikipedia, since the band's formation in 2012, THE DEAD DAISIES has featured two dozen different members (including "session" players and "temporary substitutes"), including drummer Brian Tichy (FOREIGNER, WHITESNAKE), GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Richard Fortus and GN'R keyboardist Dizzy Reed. The group has toured with the likes of AEROSMITH, KISS and BLACK STAR RIDERS.
Known as the "voice of rock," the 67-year-old Hughes is best known for fronting the Mk. III and Mk. IV lineups of DEEP PURPLE in the mid-1970s and for singing on BLACK SABBATH's 1986 album "Seventh Star". He was replaced by Ray Gillen after only six live performances with the band.
In 2009, Hughes formed BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION with blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa, keyboardist Derek Sherinian (DREAM THEATER, SONS OF APOLLO) and drummer Jason Bonham (BONHAM, FOREIGNER). Hughes recently told Midlands Metalheads Radio that the group will reunite to record its fifth album in January of 2021.

JUDAS PRIEST's ROB HALFORD Celebrates 34 Years Of Sobriety
JUDAS PRIEST frontman Rob Halford celebrated the 34th anniversary of his getting sober on Monday, January 6.
Halford posted a photo of his AA sobriety medallion, which has the words "To thine own self be true" and "unity, service and recovery" engraved around the roman numeral for 34.
He wrote: "thank you for all the sober birthday love today maniacs you mean the world to me and a shout out to my brothers and sisters on the same journey One Day At A Time"
In a 2016 interview with The Washington Times, Halford was asked what part sobriety has played in PRIEST's longevity. He responded: "Without it? Oh, I'd be dead. Literally, I would be dead. I wouldn't be talking to The Washington Times now. I wouldn't be here. The place where I got to, the next step, was lost."
He added: "I love people. I love being in a band. I love making music. I had to figure out that was way more important than being addicted."
During a 2015 interview with Western Canada's "Rock N' Roll Breakfast Show", Halford spoke in more detail about how being clean and sober since 1986 has affected his live performance as well as his emotional well being.
"Well, it's an incredible life, isn't it?" Halford said. "It's still very much one day at a time. I think that's the only way you can really make it work."
He continued: "I'm leaving a trail behind me by January the 6th of thirty years. And some people are, like, 'Oh my God! Thirty years.' Well, it really isn't that. It's a trail of sobriety that I really know for a fact has helped me in my career and in my life as a musician and as a person. I'd like to feel that I'm better in both worlds in that respect. I think I've improved in a lot of ways because of being able to stay clean and sober. But, you know, it is remarkable. And you can't do it by yourself — you have to use the tools that you're given by other people who have got your back and look out for you. And, again, it comes back, a lot of it, to my fans."
Halford went on to say that even though "most of the PRIEST fans drink, they keep me sober. That might sound crazy. But I have to go out there night after night and do my work in the way that's expected from me. And I can't go out there drunk. I can't go out there smashed and drugged. That's cheating my fans. That's giving them a poorer display. So, if that makes sense, that's also part of my daily spiritual ritual — keeping clean and sober for my own well being, but also for my fans and everybody else."
He added: "For anybody who's listening to us, if you're facing that kind of challenge in your life, please help yourself. You hear all these silly things like, 'Rehab is for quitters,' and, 'You're a man. Have a drink', blah blah blah. If you're going through the same difficulties that I went through, you know that it can be a matter of life or death, quite frankly. So be aware there's people out there, there's great organizations out there to help you start on a path to a brand new life that's full of wonderful things waiting to happen."
Halford previously credited his belief in a higher power for helping him in his recovery. "When I got clean and sober, that was a major change in my life," he said during an appearance on HATEBREED frontman Jamey Jasta's official podcast, "The Jasta Show". "And part of my recovery is just having this higher-power belief. And it works. It works, man. It really, really is important."
Halford added: "There probably will be people listening to [this] podcast who don't have anything like that in their life, and that's great; it's all about acceptance. But I always say to people, if you're thinking about it, the simplest thing I do is I pray. I pray quite a bit, actually. And even if you don't believe in prayer, just have a go. Pray for a good day, or just pray for your friend, or whatever it might be. And it's amazing, man, 'cause it absolutely works. I guarantee, it genuinely does work. And now I'm sounding like [American evangelical Christian evangelist] Billy Graham, but I'm just trying to express some of the things that are important to me on a day-to-day basis that make me able to walk out on that stage each night and do my work."
In an interview with Classic Rock Revisited, Halford said that he quit using substances because he "was sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. I will always remember the first show I did clean and sober… It was in New Mexico, in Albuquerque," he recalled. "I literally felt elevated, as everything was coming with such clarity. I was able to really… enjoy the performance of JUDAS PRIEST without having all of the other things in front of it. Since that day, it has been a miracle."
Halford added, "Everybody has to face things in their lives at some point. It [doesn't have to] be booze and drugs. You can eat too much, or you can not exercise, or whatever… It is not easy staying clean and sober in rock and roll. There are temptations galore from the moment you wake up to the moment you go to sleep, especially when you're on the road. [But] I think we're some of the strongest people, my friends and my sober brothers in metal."
In 2020, PRIEST will celebrate its 50th anniversary by embarking on a special tour.
“thank you for all the sober birthday love today maniacs you mean the world to me and a shout out to my brothers and sisters on the same journey One Day At A Time” ?????❤️

HEATHEN: Lyric Video For 'Control By Chaos' From 'The Evolution Of Chaos' 10th-Anniversary Remastered Reissue
The 10th-anniversary remastered reissue of HEATHEN's "The Evolution Of Chaos" album will be made available on January 31 via Mascot Records. The release will be available on CD/DVD, 2LP and digitally with a previously unreleased bonus track, "Seasons Of Purgatory". The CD/DVD will be accompanied by a two-hour "making-of" documentary on the album as well as a live performance from 2009's Thrash Domination in Japan.
The official lyric video for "Control By Chaos" from "The Evolution Of Chaos" reissue can be seen below.
When "The Evolution Of Chaos" was originally released back in January 2010, it was HEATHEN's first full-length collection of new material in 18 years and saw them ride a wave of the resurgent thrash scene. The band's recording lineup consisted of vocalist David White, guitarist Lee Altus, guitarist Kragen Lum, bassist Jon Torres and percussionist Darren Minter. The album also featured guest appearances by members of EXODUS.
HEATHEN is often credited — alongside EXODUS, TESTAMENT, FORBIDDEN, DEATH ANGEL and VIO-LENCE — with being one of the leaders of the Bay Area thrash metal scene of the mid-to-late 1980s.
Since its 1984 inception, HEATHEN has gone through several lineup changes, leaving Altus as the only constant member.
To date, HEATHEN has released three studio albums: 1987's "Breaking the Silence", 1991's "Victims Of Deception" and the aforementioned "The Evolution Of Chaos".
HEATHEN's drummer of 25 years, Darren Minter, quit the band in May 2013 "due to unforeseen circumstances."
Drummer Jon Dette, who has played with ICED EARTH, SLAYER, ANTHRAX and TESTAMENT, sat behind the kit for HEATHEN on the San Francisco Bay Area thrash band's 2013 European tour with GENERATION KILL and DUST BOLT.
HEATHEN in 2012 inked a deal with Nuclear Blast Records.
Altus has been a member of EXODUS since 2005. He joined the group as the replacement for Rick Hunolt, who left EXODUS to concentrate on his family life.
HEATHEN has spent the last few months working on the follow-up to "The Evolution Of Chaos".

ALESTORM Begins Recording Sixth Album
Scottish pirate metallers ALESTORM have entered the studio to record their new album, "Curse Of The Crystal Coconut", to be released this summer via Napalm Records. The band's sixth studio LP promises new anthems bursting with the chaotic energy ALESTORM fans have come to love.
ALESTORM's latest album, "No Grave But The Sea", was a worldwide success, reaching No. 1 on the U.S. Heatseekers album chart, No. 14 on the German album chart and other top 20 placements in Austria, New Zealand, Switzerland and Belgium.
Commented ALESTORM: "Oh wow, humans of planet Earth! We're super excited to announce that today we have entered Krabi Road Studios in Thailand to begin the recording of the sixth ALESTORM album, which will be called 'Curse Of The Crystal Coconut'! We may or may not have stolen that title from Donkey Kong. Anyway, we'll be here for the next three weeks recording 13-ish songs, some of which will be so absolutely terrible that they'll never see the light of day. The ones that somehow turn out alright will be released on Napalm Records sometime in the early summer! Lots of updates coming soon, stay tuned and we'll tell you all about it."
Last fall, ALESTORM vocalist-keytarist Christopher Bowes told Exclaim! that the band's upcoming disc will include a cover of a 17th-century traditional Scottish pirate song. He said: "Some people take the whole pirate thing a lot more seriously than us. The new album is all about pirates, still. I mean, it's increasingly bizarre pirate things, but it always comes back to involve a ship and an eye patch and a bottle of rum: classic pirate goofiness."

COREY GLOVER's DISCIPLES OF VERITY Release New Single / Lyric Video "Lying To Myself" Featuring PHIL DEMMEL
Metal band Disciples Of Verity - Corey Glover (vocalist of Living Colour and Bowie Experience), George Pond (bass, former bassist of Negative Sky), Corey Pierce (drums, former drummer of God Forbid), Mark Monjoy (rhythm guitar, Sekond Skyn), and Danny Puma (lead guitar, Negative Sky) - have released a video for their second single, "Lying To Myself". The track, taken from the band's forthcoming full length album Pragmatic Sanction, features Vio-lence / ex-Machine Head guitarist Phil Demmel.
The band's first single, "Worthy", features Jeff Loomis (Nevermore, Arch Enemy) on guitar and is the first track off of new record.
"No matter what you go through as long as you're breathing and still here to see another day, it is another chance. Being worthy though, that is the rub you are always trying to figure out. The heart and mind play against each other. Your mind may says you aren't good enough, but your heart knows you are worthy. That said, I am here for a reason. I am ‘Worthy’." - Corey Glover

THE OCEAN Performs “Cambrian II: Eternal Recurrence” Live In India; Video
The Ocean has uploaded footage performing the track “Cambrian II: Eternal Recurrence” live in India.
As with all of The Ocean's releases, the music is only one piece of the puzzle. The collective has always been known for lyrics that are poignant and thought-provoking, and Phanerozoic is no exception. The central idea upon which the lyrics are premised is that of 'eternal recurrence', "Nietzsche's concept that everything happens over and over again, an infinite amount of times throughout infinite time and space", Staps explains. "When you look at Earth's history you find a lot of evidence for this: continents have collided and drifted apart across the oceans and collided again, life nearly disappeared various times but then resurged again… this album is essentially about time, perception of time, and repetition. It is about coming to terms with the fact that there are things in life which will recur and which we cannot change and finding ways of dealing with that.”

KROSIS Premiere "Battles Are Won Within" Lyric Video
North Carolina progressive deathcore group, Krosis, have premiered a lyric video for their new track, "Battles Are Won Within". The song is off of their new album, A Memoir Of Free Will, which will see a February 7 release via Unique Leader Records.
Vocalist Mac Smith commented, "'Battles Are Won Within' is our modernized tribute to pioneers of ‘90s death metal and innovators of the slam subgenre, including bands such as Suffocation, Internal Bleeding, and Devourment. We wanted to write an extremely heavy jam that is musically abnormal for us while still maintaining our stylization as a group, and we feel that this track turned out to be exactly that. We wanted this song to be as intense as possible and to overwhelm the listener with different dynamics of heaviness, as well as to try out our hand at complimenting classic styles of brutal death metal with a modern twist. Aggression, groove, riffs, slams, punishing vocals, you name it: This track has it all. As a death metal enthusiast, this one comes from a special place in my heart, and I hope everyone enjoys this track as much as I do! SLAM!"
Memoir Of Free Will is the follow up to Krosis' debut Solem Vatem. The 10-track album sees the group truly coming into their own with the band's ambitious sound culminating into something truly unique.
Drummer Dan Cece commented about the album, "A Memoir Of Free Will, simply put, is a massive culmination of many things that we were finally able to put together.
It is the apex of our evolution over the past year in a musical sense, but also in a personal sense. We wanted a huge conceptual vision coupled with an equally huge sound that was refined and honed, yet still undeniably Krosis. We couldn't be prouder to say that this album is all that and more. We wanted something big, really big; something that a listener couldn't digest in just one or two listens. We've never been more excited to present a creation to you all and hope you enjoy it as much as we do."

Audio Surfaces Of JANI LANE Purportedly Admitting To Having Been Raped
15-year-old audio has surfaced of late WARRANT singer Jani Lane purportedly admitting to having been "raped."
Word of Lane supposedly having been drugged and sexually taken advantage of by a member of a famous heavy metal band and the group's manager first emerged in "Dirty Rocker Boys", the 2013 memoir by Bobbie Brown, an actress and model and probably best known as the video vixen in WARRANT's "Cherry Pie" video. Brown, who met Lane on the video set, married the musician in 1990 and had one daughter with Jani, Taylar Jayne Lane, before the couple divorced in 1993.
Now, in a audio file sent to the Metal Sludge web site, Lane can be heard apparently acknowledging that he had been violated without offering any additional details regarding the alleged incident.
During an April 2005 interview with the "Hollywood's Monsters Of Rock" show on the Fremont, Ohio radio station 92.1 The Wolf (WOHF), Lane was asked what he could "legally talk about" regarding his split with WARRANT, which had occurred more than a year earlier. Jani, who was in town to play a show at Caeser's Crystal Palace in Sandusky, Ohio, responded (hear audio below): "I don't care. Sue me, put me in jail … whip me — I don't care. I've been divorced, married, raped — I don't care."
Jani's alleged rape made headlines last week when Brown told Fox News in an interview that it was "devastating to hear" the singer confess to having been sexually assaulted. "He admitted this to me before his death," she said. "It was traumatizing to watch him reveal those things and how much it had affected his life up to that point. When we were married, I had no clue. This occurred when he was just starting out on the Strip. So when I'm hearing all of this with him, I'm crying with him. I was going, 'We have to do something, we have to say something.' He was like, 'No! No!' It was a humiliation for a man to be in that position. It's so emasculating and humiliating. It would have been humiliating for him. So we couldn't say anything. Instead he lived with this anger inside. He felt like he couldn't say anything because he was a man. He was raised to be a man, not to cry. It was all mind-fucking. I could see how it would have been devastating and humiliating for him to speak up. I got his perspective from it, but at the same time, I felt so hopeless for him, knowing that he felt he couldn't say anything. And wouldn't. That affected him greatly his whole life. It was part of the reason he drank. It's sad, really."
Lane died in August 2011 at age 47. Paramedics found his body in a Comfort Inn motel room in Woodland Hills, California, which is near Los Angeles. Lane had battled alcohol abuse for years.
Lane recorded several albums with WARRANT in late 1980s and early 1990s but left the group several times. The band replaced him with Robert Mason and released its latest studio album, "Louder Harder Faster", in May 2017.
Jani also had a daughter from his second marriage, Madison Lane; and two stepdaughters, Ryan and Brittany.

TAYLOR HAWKINS & THE COATTAIL RIDERS Debut 'Middle Child' Video
TAYLOR HAWKINS & THE COATTAIL RIDERS ring in the new year with a brand new video for "Middle Child", the latest single from last year's "Get The Money" album (Shanabelle/RCA Records).
Directed by Wiley Hodgden, Taylor Hawkins and Jeff Coffman, the "Middle Child" clip's vintage green screen vibes recall the halcyon days of early '80s MTV, while a star turn by Hawkins's own middle child Annabelle casts an eye toward the future. "Middle Child" features Hawkins himself in multiple roles, behind mics, drum kits, the wheel and coach's whistle to name a few, with support from Coattail Riders Chris Chaney (bass) and Brent Woods (guitar), both of whom played on the original song (as did Dave Grohl).
Taylor will also perform on tonight's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!", joined by a band featuring Grohl, Chaney and Woods for the network television debut of "Middle Child".
Produced by John Lousteau and Taylor himself, and mixed by Sylvia Massy, "Get The Money" follows Taylor's 2016 six-song mini-LP "KOTA" by three years almost to the day, and features a scope far wider than "KOTA"'s takes on suburbia's bizarro underbelly. The new album finds Taylor, Chaney, Woods and Lousteau accompanied by an all-star supporting cast including Grohl and Pat Smear, Roger Taylor, Joe Walsh, Duff McKagan, Nancy Wilson, Chrissie Hynde, Perry Farrell, LeAnn Rimes and more, collectively creating a staggering, epic sprawl that swerves from classic rock to prog and glam and all points between.
"Get The Money" track listing:
01. Crossed The Line (featuring Dave Grohl, Jon Davison)
02. Don't Look At Me That Way (featuring Duff McKagan, Nancy Wilson)
03. You're No Good At Life No More (featuring Dave Grohl)
04. I Really Blew It (featuring Dave Grohl, Perry Farrell)
05. Queen Of The Clowns (featuring Mark King)
06. Get the Money (featuring Joe Walsh, Chrissie Hynde, Duff McKagan)
07. C U In Hell (featuring LeAnn Rimes)
08. Middle Child (featuring Dave Grohl)
09. Kiss The Ring
10. Shapes Of Things (featuring Roger Taylor, Pat Smear)
Since the Texas-born Laguna-bred force of nature made his Foo Fighting debut on the tour supporting 1997's sophomore opus "The Colour And The Shape", he has been an essential element of the sound and personality of the last great American arena/stadium rock band. He's played on Grammy-winning FF albums, including "There Is Nothing Left To Lose", "One by One" and "Wasting Light", and contributed lead vocals to "Concrete And Gold"'s "Sunday Rain", as well as "Cold Day In The Sun" from 2005's "In Your Honor". Taylor's previous extracurricular output includes two albums from TAYLOR HAWKINS AND THE COATTAIL RIDERS, one with THE BIRDS OF SATAN, the above-mentioned "KOTA" mini-LP that featured Hawkins on lead vocals and nearly every instrument.

PASSION Feat. Former NIGHT BY NIGHT Singer Streaming New Song "Back"
Passion will release their self-titled debut album on January 24 via Frontiers Music Srl. Pre-order the album here, and listen to the song "Back", below.
Passion is a new British hard rock band inspired by the 80’s and 90’s giants of the genre. First single, “Trespass On Love” was actually the first song written for the album and the spark that ignited singer Lion Ravarez (aka Dan Rossall) to start the band. "It was from here that I decided to go on and assemble Passion as a band and produce our debut album,” says Lion. "The song is perhaps a little more mellow than the rest of the album, but it's certainly rich with influences that hail from the melodic rock and AOR genres. We wanted our first music video to showcase Passion's attitude and sense of humour, it's very tongue-in-cheek. We hope that anyone new who discovers us will understand that we just want to put a smile on their face. The music video was directed by Jay Hillyer and we shot the footage at Impossible Nightclub in Manchester, UK."
The concept behind Passion is simple: great musicianship, great songwriting, memorable melodies and hooks, serve the song first. "In addition to this,” continues Lion, "we wanted to create an act using fictional characters (hence the names) as we feel humour is positive, after all this is the entertainment industry. Don't let that confuse you though, we're not a joke band. We're deeply passionate about creating high quality rock music and we're also very enthusiastic about entertaining an audience.”
Passion play straight up melodic hard rock, with bold and excitable hooks and alluring musicality. "We love soulful vocals with razor sharp highs, memorable guitar riffs, and tasteful solos. If you like "songs", then you'll enjoy Passion. I'm confident that we can make a mark on the rock and metal scenes the world over, it just takes time, but we’re gonna get there, I promise,” concludes Lion.
Passion tracklisting:

"Too Bad For Baby"

MEAT LOAF's Daughter Applauds GRETA THUNBERG's Response To His Criticism: 'I Don't Always Agree With My Father'
Meat Loaf's daughter has applauded Greta Thunberg's response to his criticism.
In a recent interview with U.K.'s Daily Mail, the legendary singer said about the teenage climate-change activist: "I feel for that Greta. She has been brainwashed into thinking that there is climate change and there isn't. She hasn't done anything wrong but she's been forced into thinking that what she is saying is true."
Earlier today, Greta retweeted a story about the need to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions and added the following comment: "It's not about Meatloaf. It's not about me. It's not about what some people call me. It's not about left or right. It's all about scientific facts. And that we're not aware of the situation. Unless we start to focus everything on this, our targets will soon be out of reach."
Just a few hours later, Meat Loaf's 38-year-old daughter Amanda Aday shared Greta's Twitter response on Facebook and added the following comment: "I don't always agree with my father, as most people don't always agree with their parents. I applaud Greta Thunberg's response to his criticism. #RiseAbove"
When one of Amanda's Facebook friends asked her why her father would attack Greta in the first place, she responded: "The reporter baited him for his opinion of her. His response was twisted a bit and Dad didn't have all the facts. But ultimately he doesn't believe in climate change."
97 percent or more of actively publishing climate scientists agree that climate-warming trends over the past century are extremely likely due to human activities.
On Friday (January 3), HALESTORM frontwoman Lzzy Hale tweeted a link to a story about Meat Loaf's Greta comments and wrote in an accompanying message: "This is why the new gen has to step the fuck up!!" A short time later, her tweet was shared by former SKID ROW singer Sebastian Bach, who chimed in: "Obviously anybody who thinks climate change isn't real is the one who is brainwashed"
Meat Loaf (pictured), who campaigned with Mitt Romney in 2012 and worked with Donald Trump on "The Apprentice" back in 2010, previously claimed that he lost a few gigs thanks to politics.
Thunberg has gained international media attention in recent months for her outspoken activism on climate change, including delivering an impassioned speech to the United Nations Climate Action Summit calling out world leaders for not responding to the climate crisis with more urgency.
President Trump, who has repeatedly voiced skepticism about climate change, shared video of Thunberg's speech on Twitter, and above it wrote, sarcastically, that "she seems like a very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future. So nice to see!"
I don’t always agree with my father, as most people don’t always agree with their parents. I applaud Greta Thunberg’s response to his criticism. #RiseAbove

VIO-LENCE Guitarist PHIL DEMMEL Releases Official Lyric Video For Rejected MACHINE HEAD Song "The Permanent Decay"
Vio-lence / former Machine Head guitarist, Phil Demmel (pictured above), premiered the track “The Permanent Decay” - featuring an all-star cast including Bleeding Through vocalist Brandan Schieppati, Megadeth bassist David Ellefson, and Sacred Reich drummer Dave McClain (ex-Machine Head) - on SiriusXM Liquid Metal. A lyric video for the song can be viewed below.
Says Demmel, “I had some tracks I had written and submitted for a previous band, that were never used, and I really liked them. Dave McClain and I had worked some of them up, and I kept thinking of who would be perfect to sing on it. My wife plays in Bleeding Through with Brandan, he ended up writing all the vocals, and singing on it, and it came out killer. Ellefson and I had been talking at NAMM last year about doing something together, so when this came up, it was the perfect opportunity to do that as well."
Adds Ellefson, “About a year ago when we were doing Metal Allegiance at the Anaheim House of Blues, I mentioned to Phil that we should collaborate on something together. And as the year went by, he contacted me back in October about a track, and he sent it over to me, I loved it. , I’ve had a great experience and friendship playing with Phil, and to be able to branch out and play with Brandan, and Dave McClain who played on “Hammer Comes Down” on my Sleeping Giants album, was really kinda reuniting the family in a way, but at the same time stepping out into some new turf. I love to branch out and dive into different styles and genres of Metal, and that’s really what this was all about.”
Drummer Dave McClain adds, “Originally when me and Phil were in Machine Head, and it came time to start writing stuff for the next record, Phil had some ideas and riffs, and I’m always down there practicing all day. He just came down one day, he had these riffs, we started messing around. I mic’ed up everything in the room on my laptop, and we recorded this stuff live, and then it ended up not being used for anything. Fast forward to all this time later, when we’re both out of Machine Head, and Phil was going out on this guitar clinic tour, and he was like, "let’s record some of the riffs and songs I had". We got in the studio with Juan, we just laid it down. It was meant to just be a demo of the song, but it sounded really good, and it was really organic.

EVERY MOTHER’S NIGHTMARE Debuts "Pray" Music Video
Memphis, Tennessee's Every Mother's Nightmare recently announced that they are recording a new album, but that hasn't stopped them from continuing to promote their back catalog.
The band and their label have just released another new video for the track "Pray", from the 2018 reissue Smokin' Delta Voodoo. Watch below.
EMN is on the climb and a very notable resurgence since the release of their last full-length original album, Grind. HVM released Grind in 2017, Smokin' Delta Voodoo in 2018, Backtraxx in 2019, and Grind on LP in 2019. The band signed with HighVolMusic in 2016, extended their contract in 2018, and now signing a new extension beyond 2025.
Founder and vocalist Rick Ruhl states: "Bill Chavis, that guy just doesn't stop! He never takes no for an answer and finds a way to make things happen. He shoots it straight. HighVolMusic is the best label I have ever been on. He cares and takes care of business and has done more for this band since we signed with him than anyone else. He's my friend, I trust him and can't say that for many."
Future plans are in the works to release additional back catalog including the first two Arista releases. Tentative release date for the upcoming release is June 5, 2020.
