Ex-JUDAS PRIEST Singer TIM 'RIPPER' OWENS: 'Thank God' Iranian Military Commander QASSEM SOLEIMANI Is Dead

Former JUDAS PRIEST singer Tim "Ripper" Owens has expressed his gratitude for the fact that President Donald Trump authorized the killing of Qassem Soleimani, the commander of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps Quds Force.

Trump personally ordered the killing by airstrike of Iran's top general, who was viewed by the United States as a ruthless killer. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi released a statement saying that Trump ordered the airstrike "without the consultation of Congress."

After one Twitter user pointed out that hundreds of thousands of Iranians took to the streets of Tehran on Monday for the funeral of "the guy Trump assassinated" — more people than attended the Trump inauguration — Owens replied: "And thank god 'The Guy' is Dead. Hope they are enjoying it" Tim also included a couple of American flag emojis.

Owens, who frequently "likes" tweets that support Trump's policies and that are derogatory to Democrats, weighed in on the U.S. presidential race back in 2016, saying that Trump was perhaps what America needed to move the country forward. Claiming that he wasn't a Democrat or a Republican ("I'm in the middle," he said), Owens explained that he couldn't vote for Hillary Clinton because of "the way they tax people." He went on to say that America "had eight years of really bad" under President Barack Obama and opined that "a lot of American people" were "just trying to figure out something other than what [Obama] was doing."

Back in 2012, Owens revealed in an interview that he was voting for Mitt Romney in that year's election.

INTRONAUT Release Alex Rüdinger Drum Playthrough Video For New Song "Cubensis"

On February 28, Intronaut will release their sixth full-length, Fluid Existential Inversions, via Metal Blade Records. In this new video, Alex Rüdinger performs "Cubensis" from the album:

Fluid Existential Inversions features some of the most dramatic and epic sounds of the band's career.

"We pushed ourselves to be bigger and better, musically speaking, and to me that's the essence of progressive music," states guitarist/vocalist Sacha Dunable. "On this album, there are drums played in ways I've never heard before. There are synths used in contexts I've never heard before. Intronaut has the most unique bass player in all of heavy metal as far as I'm concerned, and I even practiced guitar to get myself out of my comfort zone. So I think we progressed and made the best album ever."

The album can be pre-ordered here in the following formats:

- digipak-CD
- opaque evergreen vinyl (US exclusive - limited to 1000 copies)
- blue watercolor vinyl (US exclusive - limited to 500 copies)
- green watercolor vinyl (US exclusive - limited to 500 copies)
- 180g black vinyl (EU exclusive)
- light blue vinyl (EU exclusive - limited to 300 copies)
- mint green vinyl (EU exclusive - limited to 200 copies)
- red / blue marbled vinyl (EU Shop exclusive - limited to 100 copies)
* exclusive bundles with shirts, plus digital options are also available!

It's been a five-year gap since 2015's The Direction Of Last Things, the longest between any two Intronaut records, but with good reason.

"Some of this music was written within a week of the last record being released, and we originally wanted to get into the studio to make this album back in early 2017, but I think the band was kind of burnt out, and I personally was definitely burnt out, and we decided to take a year off before committing to a new album and the touring stuff that comes with it. After a little time off, I kept writing on my own and I realized I love making this music whether we're an active band or not."

A change in the unit's ranks set things back another year, but soon enough, they were back on track. The addition of drummer Alex Rudinger (The Faceless, Whitechapel) to the Intronaut lineup definitely played a key part in how the record came together, Dunable praising his obsessive work ethic and a "dedication to his craft like I've never seen before." With all the players in place, it was a case of getting down to work and creating the ultimate Intronaut album - which features keyboards for the first time in the band's history.

When it came time to record Fluid Existential Inversions, Intronaut once again teamed up with producer Josh Newell and spent a month locked in the studio with him. They invited previous collaborator Ben Sharp - aka Cloudkicker - to be a part of the process, penning one of the main riffs of closer "Sour Everythings" and playing some guitar on both that track and "The Cull". When it came to mixing the record, the band reached out to Kurt Ballou (Converge, High On Fire), resulting in a unique finished product that stands apart from their catalogue.

Fluid Existential Inversions tracklisting:

"Procurement Of The Victuals"
"Cubensis"
"The Cull"
"Contrapasso"
"Speaking Of Orbs"
"Tripolar"
"Check Your Misfortune"
"Pangloss"

The voting took place through an online form via a special section on Queen Official Site in Japan from Wednesday, November 6 to Monday, November 25, 2019, where, as a general rule, fans residing in the country were invited to cast their votes for their favourite song by Queen off their 15 original studio albums under the one-person-one-vote principle.

"All participants were required to make a hard decision to choose only one song to vote for from the great list of 172 tracks in total. The response was overwhelming, and we would like to thank all the 11,988 voters who helped to compile the special album. The top-voted 12 songs will now comprise the final tracklisting for the album, which can truly be called “the definitive collection of Queen as selected by Japanese fans."

The top 12 fan-voted tracks make their way onto the final cut of the album. The physical CD release of the album will be exclusive to Japan, with the digital available worldwide. The limited-edition CD will contain a DVD including music videos from the top 12 songs.

Having celebrated their magnificent 48th anniversary, Queen phenomenally keeps on astonishing the world from East to West, while the special bond that the band and Japan have built since the early years is globally well known. The story began in the days when the band made the first visit to Japan as early as 1975, where the quartet received a truly passionate and hearty welcome. The song “Teo Torriatte (Let Us Cling Together)”, which the band wrote during their stay in the country, with choruses sung in Japanese, is a beautiful token of the precious relationship. Having been placed at number 3 in the voting, the song is naturally to be featured on the upcoming greatest hits album.

The Queen film Bohemian Rhapsody, the biggest-grossing music biopic of all time, was also a super smash hit in Japan becoming the biggest film release of the year. Overall sales (digital and physical) of the band’s whole catalogue together with the acclaimed soundtrack album have amounted to over 1.6 million units/copies in Japan alone so far this year.

The participants of the vote covered a wide range of generations, from youngsters whose first encounters with the band were through the phenomenal biopic to long-time dedicated fans from the ‘70s. While the fact that not a few of the earlier classics made the top 12 reminds how much tremendous love and support the band has received from their loyal Japanese fans since the dawn of their career, the tracks from the albums released in the ‘80s and ’90s are impressively placed high in the rankings as well, which exemplifies the band’s magnificent popularity, coupled with their universal appeal, and enduring influence in Japan over four decades.

To reflect the concept of “the compilation as selected by Japanese fans”, the artwork for the album, simply called Greatest Hits In Japan, will feature splendid traditional Japanese designs and patterns. The CD booklet also includes some photographs of Freddie’s beautiful Japanese garden. And from the fans who participated in the voting, around 700 names will be credited to the booklet by lottery.

In addition, a draw among the voters has been made to decide on the five lucky winners to receive personal autographs by Brian May and Roger Taylor. The winners will receive the prize without any prior announcement.

“To our Japanese fans, we always appreciate your passionate support. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. After seeing the poll results and the final tracklist, I realised again how much you have loved us since early times. I guess this is a unique amazing selection that probably only Japanese fans could make. Very much looking forward to seeing you soon at our shows in January! Wishing you a Happy New Year!!" - Brian May

“To all Japanese Queen followers, we can never thank you enough for your undying support through all these years. We have grown up and older together, and I think the final tracklisting for the fan-vote album is the proof of our long-standing bond, Some of your choices of our songs were a bit of a pleasant surprise, and made me grin as well, for this seems to be a very Japanese selection you can find nowhere else, which I love! Look forward to seeing you all at the concerts and having a great time together! Wishing you a Wonderful 2020!" - Roger Taylor

Belgium’s TERRIFIANT To Release Self-Titled Debut Album In February; Details Revealed

Gates Of Hell Records announces February 21 as the release date for the self-titled debut album from Belgian throwback-metal miscreants, Terrifiant. Hold your ears and save your neck: Terrifiant has arrived with their distinctive brand of rough-and-ready metal that gangs up on NWOBHM, as well as US and Far East metal.

A garrulous, rough housing troublemaker (ZZ Slop - guitarmony) meets a dark and mysterious sleazeball (Lord Terrifiant - vocals) in a festival carpark... the beginning to any great heavy metal story! Left to their own nefarious devices, a small bag with questionable contents and endless whiskey, the scoundrels gave birth to possibly the best/worst idea of that particular weekend... a group of miscreants committed to ways of old and the forgotten Metal Gods of yore!

Combining the worst elements with the filthiest attitudes from each of their respective record collections the duo set out to recruit the suitable deviants they required to execute this devilish deed and after a year searching every back alley, dive bar and shady street corner Brussels had to offer, the lineup was finally solidified in 2018 with Alcoloic (drums), SlimeValdi (guitarmony) and Sniffany Baggs (bass).

Mixing the rawness of their NWOBHM and USHM favourites and with a strong nod to greatest and nastiest metallic hits from the Land of Rising Sun, Lord Terrifiant and his Agents of Terror bring forth an uncompromising offer to the immor(t)al heavy metal Gods backed with a fist full of rock'n'roll attitude and seriously bad intentions.

Tracklisting:

"Steel For Life"
"Devil In Transport"
"Bed Queen"
"Just Because I Can"
"Metal And More"
"Speedline"
"Iron Mountain"
"Heartbreaker" (Pat Benatar cover)

Lineup:

Lord Terrifiant - Vocals
ZZ Slop - Guitar
Slime Valdi - Guitar
Sniffany Bags - Bass
Alcoloic - Drums

Listen To New KVELERTAK Song 'Crack Of Doom' Featuring MASTODON's TROY SANDERS

"Crack Of Doom", a brand new song from Norwegian rockers KVELERTAK, can be streamed below. The track, which features a guest appearance by MASTODON bassist/vocalist Troy Sanders, is taken from KVELERTAK's upcoming album, "Splid", due on February 14 via Rise Records. The follow-up to 2016's "Nattesferd" will mark the band's first release since the departure of longtime frontman Erlend Hjelvik and addition of Ivar Nikolaisen.

"Crack Of Doom" is one of the first songs performed by KVELERTAK in English. The accompanying music video is directed by the award-winning and renowned Norwegian stills photographer and music video director Stian Andersen. Stian has been a part of the KVELERTAK circle for many years, having also directed their previous videos for "Kvelertak" and "Bronsegud".

Says the band: "Ever heard of the Maya Apocalypse? Johannes Stöffler? Harold Camping? Are you afraid that the religious leaders, scientists, or the doomsday preachers may be right? Have no fear! They were all wrong. But now, KVELERTAK has come to prophesize Ragnarok, straight into your heart and soul. The 'Crack Of Doom' shines on us all!"

About Sanders being featured on "Crack Of Doom", they add: "We sent Troy a demo of the song because there were a couple of parts we felt would fit his voice very well and lift the song. Luckily, he liked the track and was keen to do it. He got some scratch vocal tracks and some guidelines but was free to do it however he wanted. What we got back was even better than what we could hope for. We're extremely proud to have him featured on this song, and with Troy being American, it felt natural to just do the whole thing in English."

Regarding the official video, director Stian Andersen and producer Lars Thomas Skare state: "It has been an amazing experience and a privilege to assist in the baptism of Ivar Nikolaisen into the ranks of the band, and putting him through the torturous conditions of ice bathing in sub-zero temperatures, setting him on fire, galloping through the forest shirtless mid-winter, or hanging him upside down from a tree."

"Splid" was recorded with Kurt Ballou at Godcity Studio in Salem, Massachusetts.

"Working with Kurt again has been amazing and we're extremely happy with the production," the band said. "We've pushed ourselves to the edge this last year — musically, physically, and mentally. The result is one hour of catchy riffs, punk rock, and heavy metal influenced by a world in discord to accompany our way towards Ragnarok."

"Splid" track listing:

01. Rogaland

02. Crack Of Doom (feat. Troy Sanders)

03. Necrosoft

04. Discord

05. Bråtebrann

06. Uglas Hegemoni

07. Fanden Ta Dette Hull!

08. Tevling

09. Stevnemøte Med Satan

10. Delirium Tremens

11. Ved Bredden Av Nihil

KVELERTAK guitarist Vidar Landa told Ireland's Overdrive that the singer switch "was seamless in a way. We knew that Erlend wanted to quit and do other stuff," he said. "We were lucky that we had that close connection with Ivar. He's been part of KVELERTAK for a long time and has sung on a few tracks for us in the past, doing backing vocals. We've toured together in the past also so he was really the only one that we were thinking of to replace him when Erlend was first talking about leaving. Luckily, Ivar wanted to do it and it's all just fit really well, thankfully. It would have been much harder to go through the audition process and undergo that process of looking for a new vocalist. We were very lucky for the way it all happened."

Nikolaisen made his live debut with KVELERTAK in July 2018 at the Fjellparkfestivalen in Flekkefjord, Norway.

MÖTLEY CRÜE Releases 2020 Music Video For 'Shout At The Devil' Featuring Footage From 'The Dirt'

MÖTLEY CRÜE has released a 2020 music video for the "Shout At The Devil" title track, with additional footage from the band's biopic "The Dirt". Check it out below.

"The Dirt", based on CRÜE's 2001 New York Times bestselling autobiography, debuted in March 2019 on Netflix. The film's stars, Douglas Booth (Nikki Sixx), "Game Of Thrones"' Iwan Rheon (Mick Mars), Colson Baker (a.k.a. Machine Gun Kelly) (Tommy Lee), Daniel Webber (Vince Neil), David Costabile (Doc McGhee) and Pete Davidson (Tom Zutaut) have all gotten critical kudos. "They possess similar abilities to navigate between charm and repulsion, all working together to create such a chummy group that their power as an ensemble elevates the material. Just like their real-life counterparts," wrote The Guardian.

MÖTLEY CRÜE's Nikki Sixx said: "In the film, we show painful examples of domestic violence, DUI, manslaughter, drug overdose and the loss of a child. We couldn't possibly have crammed everything from a 430-page book into an-hour-and-50-minute movie, but we felt we achieved our objective of showing the downside of sex drugs and rock and roll."

"The Dirt Soundtrack" features four new songs, including the first single, "The Dirt (Est. 1981) (feat. Machine Gun Kelly)", and CRÜE's unlikely cover of Madonna's "Like A Virgin".

MÖTLEY CRÜE's last studio album was 2008's "Saints Of Los Angeles", which was followed by a 2009 "Greatest Hits" compilation.

CRÜE will team up with DEF LEPPARD, POISON and JOAN JETT & THE BLACKHEARTS for a North American stadium tour next summer. "The Stadium Tour" will kick off on June 21 in San Antonio, Texas and will include newly announced gigs in Kansas City, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Nashville, Cincinnati and Cleveland. The tour marks CRÜE's first live dates since wrapping its 2014/2015 farewell run. The band toured with POISON back in 2011 and DEF LEPPARD teamed up with POISON for a string of road dates in 2017 — but the upcoming jaunt marks the first time all four acts have hit the road together for an extended tour.

GRETA THUNBERG Reacts To MEAT LOAF's 'Brainwashed' Comment

Teenage climate-change activist Greta Thunberg has responded to Meat Loaf after the legendary singer accused her of being "brainwashed."

In a recent interview with U.K.'s Daily Mail, Meat Loaf said: "I feel for that Greta. She has been brainwashed into thinking that there is climate change and there isn't. She hasn't done anything wrong but she's been forced into thinking that what she is saying is true."

Earlier today, Greta retweeted a story about the need to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions and added the following comment: "It's not about Meatloaf. It's not about me. It's not about what some people call me. It's not about left or right. It's all about scientific facts. And that we're not aware of the situation. Unless we start to focus everything on this, our targets will soon be out of reach."

97 percent or more of actively publishing climate scientists agree that climate-warming trends over the past century are extremely likely due to human activities.

On Friday (January 3), HALESTORM frontwoman Lzzy Hale tweeted a link to a story about Meat Loaf's Greta comments and wrote in an accompanying message: "This is why the new gen has to step the fuck up!!" A short time later, her tweet was shared by former SKID ROW singer Sebastian Bach, who chimed in: "Obviously anybody who thinks climate change isn't real is the one who is brainwashed"

Meat Loaf, who campaigned with Mitt Romney in 2012 and worked with Donald Trump on "The Apprentice" back in 2010, previously claimed that he lost a few gigs thanks to politics.

Thunberg has gained international media attention in recent months for her outspoken activism on climate change, including delivering an impassioned speech to the United Nations Climate Action Summit calling out world leaders for not responding to the climate crisis with more urgency.

President Trump, who has repeatedly voiced skepticism about climate change, shared video of Thunberg's speech on Twitter, and above it wrote, sarcastically, that "she seems like a very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future. So nice to see!"

It’s not about Meatloaf.

It’s not about me.

It’s not about what some people call me.

It’s not about left or right.

It’s all about scientific facts.

And that we’re not aware of the situation.

Unless we start to focus everything on this, our targets will soon be out of reach. https://t.co/UwyoSnLiK2

Ex-LEAVES' EYES Vocalist LIV KRISTINE Releases New "Skylight" Single Written With Former THEATRE OF TRAGEDY Bandmate TOMMY OLSSON

Former Leaves' Eyes / Theatre of Tragedy vocalist Liv Kristine has released a new single, "Skylight", written with her former ToT bandmate Tommy Olsson (guitars). Check it out below.

Liv is featured in a new interview with Spain's Empire Zone. Following is an excerpt from the intimate conversation.

Q: Let’s talk about your new songs. “Skylight” will be the first single of your new album. What can you tell me about this song?

Liv: "It was composed by Tommy Olsson (Theatre of Tragedy) a while ago and he sent it to me. We’ve been exchanging ideas for a while now, actually since the beginning of 2016. I love his ideas and what really inspires me in his songs is that he leaves enough space for me to develop my melodies and lyrics. It’s like going with a magic flow. I have ideas all the time. 'Skylight' was recorded vocally at Tommy’s studio in August this year. We both are really happy about what we’ve created together. Moreover, I am sure that this song will be enjoyed by my audience. 'Gravity' is the second composition on the Nagold special edition single. For all of you who love Aégis of Theatre of Tragedy and my last solo album, Vervain, both tracks will inspire you!"

Speaking with Cryptic Rock in 2018, Liv opened up about her messy 2016 split from Leaves' Eyes and discussed joining her sister Carmen's band, Midnattsol. Following is an excerpt from the interview.

CR: You spent thirteen years with Leaves’ Eyes where you were arguably the center of that band. When you left, was there ever a moment’s hesitation as to what you would do next, musically? Did you need to take any time to regroup, or were you more inspired than ever to forge onward?

Liv Kristine: "At first, I was devastated as the whole situation was unbearable for me, especially because everything happened without any warning. My life fell apart on all levels, professional and private, and I had to deal with the problems of other people that hit me as a woman and my family badly.

On a professional level, I had to start all anew. I think the whole decision of replacing me 'all of a sudden' and continuing with the band was not the right decision. Why not just choose another band name and change the band’s concept? The Viking concept of Leaves’ Eyes was brought to life due to my own history and heritage. As soon as I got the news that Elina would replace me and that she was ready for touring with Leaves’ Eyes, I just hoped that they would change the name of the band and come up with their own new concept in case of a new album.

My urge and power to move on has always been there and will always be a strong force in me. As already said above, I have the best fans in the world! Most of my fan club leaders gather in Nagold, Germany, every December, at my yearly special show where we all sit together. I feel such a strong connection to my fans, and the support I have gotten over the years is absolutely amazing and I am forever grateful. 2016 and 2017 were years of connecting to other artists, bands, and projects, like Tanzwut, Eluveitie, Orden Organ, Cradle of Filth, The Sabbathian, and finally Midnattsol, moreover, it was important for me to strengthen the status of my own solo band."

Original THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN Members BEN WEINMAN And DIMITRI MINIKAKIS Collaborate On New Project

Two original members of THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN are collaborating on an as-yet-unnamed new project.

Guitarist Ben Weinman and vocalist Dimitri Minikakis have released a new song, "Choir Boy", exclusively via Weinman's Patreon. The track also features Eric Schnee (ORGAN DEALER) on drums.

A preview of "Choir Boy" is available below.

Minikakis sang on THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN's debut studio album, "Calculating Infinity", which came out in September 1999 via Relapse. It was the band's only full-length release to feature Minakakis, who left THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN in 2001.

Minakakis last performed with THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN during their December 2017 three-day residency at New York City's Terminal 5, marking the now-defunct band's final live appearances. Minakakis joined his former bandmates for renditions of several cuts from "Calculating Infinity" and the "Under The Running Board" EP, including "The Mullet Burden", "Sandbox Magician", "Abe The Cop" and "43% Burnt".

Video Premiere: OZZY OSBOURNE's 'Straight To Hell'

Ozzy Osbourne has released the official music video for the song "Straight To Hell". The track is the second single from Ozzy's forthcoming album, "Ordinary Man", which will be released later this year via Epic Records.

On the full-on rocker "Straight To Hell", Ozzy takes listeners to the heart of darkness — "something is missing and you don't know why" — with GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Slash along for this devilish ride, delivering scorched-earth riffs.

This past November, Ozzy released "Under The Graveyard", his first new solo music in almost 10 years, which garnered more than 2.8 million global streams in its first week. Rolling Stone noted "doom and gloom is what makes an Ozzy song great, and it's what make this one a keeper," and NPR wrote, "It sounds like Ozzy and, remarkably, Ozzy's voice can still tear through your soul."

"This album was a gift from my higher power — it is proof to me that you should never give up," Ozzy said.

Recorded in Los Angeles, the album features producer Andrew Watt on guitars, Duff McKagan (GUNS N' ROSES) on bass and Chad Smith (RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS) on drums.

"It all started when Kelly [Osbourne] comes in and says, 'Do you want to work on a Post Malone song?'" Ozzy explained. "My first thing was, 'Who the fuck is Post Malone?!' I went to Andrew's [Watt] house and he said we will work really quick. After we finished that song, he said, 'Would you be interested in starting an album?' I said 'that would be fucking great, but now I am thinking I don't want to be working in a basement studio for six months! And in just a short time, we had the album done. Duff and Chad came in and we would go in and jam during the day and I would go work out the songs in the evenings. I previously had said to Sharon I should be doing an album, but in the back of my mind I was going 'I haven't got the fucking strength...' but Andrew pulled it out of me. I really hope people listen to it and enjoy it, because I put my heart and soul into this album."

Ozzy has not released an all-new solo effort since 2010's "Scream", having spent the last few years touring with BLACK SABBATH in support of that band's "13" LP, as well as playing a number of solo shows. More recently, Osbourne has been recuperating at home after sustaining a bad neck injury resulting in the postponement of his solo tour.

Back in October, Ozzy once again postponed his European tour, marking the second time the BLACK SABBATH singer has done so following a series of health issues.

Ozzy initially scrapped his entire 2019 schedule early last year, as he recovered from surgery to repair an injury sustained while dealing with his bout of pneumonia. The European leg of his "No More Tours 2" trek was then rescheduled for January through March 2020, with the North American dates set to follow in May 2020.

SONS OF APOLLO Release "Fall To Ascend" Writing Session Video

Sons Of Apollo - former Dream Theater members Mike Portnoy and Derek Sherinian, Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal (ex-Guns N’ Roses), Billy Sheehan (The Winery Dogs, Mr. Big, David Lee Roth) and Jeff Scott Soto (ex-Journey, ex-Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force) - will release their second studio album, appropriately titled, MMXX (pronounced: 20/20), on January 17 via InsideOutMusic/Sony.

Here's another look at the writing sessions for the new album and the single "Fall To Ascend":

The Christian Rios-directed video for "Fall To Ascend" can be seen below:

In this track-by-track video, the band discuss the song:

Produced by The Del Fuvio Brothers (Portnoy and Sherinian), MMXX will be released as a standard CD package, Limited Edition 2 CD package (which includes instrumental mixes and a cappella excerpts), 2 LP + CD package, and on all digital formats. Pre-order here. Digital pre-orders come with instant downloads of “Goodbye Divinity” and "Fall To Ascend".

“Stylistically, we have followed the same path as the debut,” outlines drummer Mike Portnoy. “But we feel that it has come out stronger, simply because we know one another better. Psychotic Symphony was the first time the five of us had worked together, so there was bound to be an air of experimentation happening. Now, we can draw on having the experience not only of recording that album, but also of touring together a lot. And now there is clearly a lot more obvious chemistry going on.”

“We did 83 shows on the last tour,” adds keyboardist Derek Sherinian. “And it was so worthwhile, because we came out of it with a stronger bond, and that is certainly reflected in what we wrote.”

The writing process began at the start of the year, as Portnoy, Sherinian and guitarist Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal got together. “The three of us were at my home studio in Pennsylvania,” explains Portnoy. “And it took about three weeks to get all the music written. That was a very smooth process. The last time, it certainly must have felt a little weird for Bumblefoot to be writing with Derek and me, because we were strangers to him. Now, we know one another better and that helped things push along.”

“Because we all have our home studios, it meant everyone could record there as and when they had opportunity,” continues Sherinian. “We all had the luxury of being able to take our time to get all the parts done, which was a huge help in the way the album's come out. I suppose in all, it took about eight months to record everything.”

The lyrics were written by Soto, who also came up with the melody lines with input from Sherinian. “While Jeff was left to come up with the words on his own, as the melody lines are part of the music, it made sense for me to be involved with that part,” says the keyboard player.

There are eight tracks on MMXX, with variations in length totalling 60 minutes. “The final song is 'New World Today, which is 16 minutes long,” says Portnoy. “This one has elements similar to 'Opus Maximus' and 'Labyrinth' on the previous album. It has some insane, brilliant instrumental moments, which I am sure the fans will love.”

“We wanted to do something epic here, as we did with 'Opus Maximus' last time around,” adds Sherinian. “You have to remember that Mike and I come from Dream Theater, where we never bothered about how long a song was. So, for us doing a 16 minute track is not a problem.”

The album title was inspired by a simple chronological fact. “This will be released in mid-January 2020,” says Portnoy. “That means it will be one of the first releases in what is a new decade. So I came up with the idea of calling it '2020,’ except having it written in the Latin form of 'MMXX'.” And the album’s artwork has been created by Thomas Ewerhard (who was responsible for the cover design of Psychotic Symphony), which inevitably reflects the title. As Portnoy explains, “For the first record, we had a mythological feel. This time around though, there's a much more futuristic style to what we've got. It has a very 21st century appeal. And the band crest is more polished, cleaned up and a lot more modern than last time, when it had an old fashioned look.”

“Each member of this band has their own signature sound on their instrument,” adds Sherinian. “And when you put all of this together what you get is a wonderful five-headed beast. It makes this a sonically special band, which is definitely what comes across on MMXX. You can hear odd time signatures and amazingly crazy performances here. Overall, we've been satisfyingly more adventurous this time than we were before, and I know people are sure to love what we've done.”

"Wither To Black"
"Asphyxiation"
"Desolate July"

TALES OF THE TOMB Share Thoughts On THE BEATLES Conspiracy With "Faul" Lyric Video

Unleashing their Volume Two: Mendicium EP this past September, Edmonton-based death metal duo, Tales Of The Tomb, are sharing with fans their latest lyric video, for the track "Faul".

The band explains the story behind the track: "'Faul' was the third song the band had ever written. We decided not to include it on our debut EP because it did not fit into the concept that the first EP had. 'Faul' is about the conspiracy surrounding The Beatles. In the ’60s Paul and John got into a fight late one night in the studio. Paul stormed out after an argument while driving Paul saw a woman walking by the side of the road. It was around 3 AM in the morning Paul decided to stop and offer the woman a ride. After the woman got into the car and Paul started driving again. The woman noticed the driver was Sir Paul McCartney of The Beatles! The woman got very excited and was throwing herself at Paul while he was driving resulting in him driving the car off the road. It’s rumoured that he never survived the crash and that police came to the studio to inform the band of their member Paul’s death in the accident. When the band was brought to the accident, the police officer was showing the band the body and noticed that you could see his teeth poking through his cheek. The cop said 'Doesn't he look like a walrus' and John Lennon was very distraught by this and was yelling at the cop 'No, I am the walrus' inspiring the famous line from the song. In the end, it was the British Secret Police who decided to forge a cover-up not revealing Paul’s death to the world in fear there would be mass suicide from a lot of the fans The Beatles had. Sonically, we really went for the murder metal formula short, sweet and to the point."

Painting their canvas of extreme music with inspirations of real-life stories of murder, conspiracy, supernatural horror, and terror, Tales Of The Tomb's new EP Volume Two: Mendicium is a vicious bite of grinding blast beats, technical shredding accompanied by venomous guttural lows. Inspired by true events, the duo offer up gore-filled lyrics with a quivering soundscape. The EP was mixed and mastered by Cryptopsy guitarist and head engineer/owner at The Grid Studios Christian Donaldson along with featuring artwork by Tony Midi of Tonymidi Artworks.

ANTHRAX Drummer Implies TRUMP Ordered SOLEIMANI Killing As 'Distraction' From Impeachment

ANTHRAX drummer Charlie Benante has implied that President Donald Trump was thinking of his own political future when he authorized the killing of Qasem Soleimani, the commander of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps Quds Force.

Trump personally ordered the killing by airstrike of Iran's top general, who was viewed by the United States as a ruthless killer. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi released a statement saying that Trump ordered the airstrike "without the consultation of Congress."

Benante suggested on Friday that Trump may have ordered the killing distract the public from impeachment proceedings. He tweeted out the definition of "distraction" as "a thing that prevents someone from giving full attention to something else" and added the hashtags #chooch and #iran. He later tweeted out a link to this story after it was initially published and included the comment: "Clinton did the same thing btw"

Charlie's tweet was met with a mixed response from his Twitter followers, one of whom wrote: "Yes Charlie he was hoping that our embassy was attacked and an American killed in the region so he could pull off this 'distraction' " Another added: "Orange head is a corrupt lunatic. Period." A third said: "Wow, must have missed the part where they attacked Americans and killed a few while they were at it. We should just let that slide though, right?" A fourth tweeted: "We are in Deep Shit!! #chooch #WorstPresidentEver #WorldWarThree" A fifth wrote: "Yes, he arranged for the embassy to be attacked to distract from being impeached for doing nothing wrong. Try again and next time, don't be so silly." A sixth said: "My cats litter box has more brains than Charlie. My god what a dumb ass."

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Friday warned that a "harsh retaliation is waiting" for the U.S. after the airstrike that killed Soleimani.

Back in November 2018, Benante told Ireland's Overdrive that he no longer shared his political views online because he didn't want to come under criticism from his fans. "I've stopped posting things about my own beliefs and political standpoint on things because of the bashing I think I'll take for it, and I don't think that's fair," he said. "I'm an American, I pay my taxes and all of this stuff affects me just as much as it affects the next person."

Benante went on to say that he got slammed for voicing his opinion "just because other people happen to work in an office or work construction and no way shape or form do what I do or understand that playing music is also a job. I get the same shit that other musicians or actors get for expressing their opinions and I think it's really unfair," he said. "It's like they think we should just shut up and play our music or whatever, like it's not a real job. The feeling from this people is, like, 'We don't want to hear your views, just play music.'"

He continued: "The whole thing that they misunderstand is that I'm not trying to bash anyone in the political field; I just have my own opinion on things, and if they keep an open mind, it may open some new ideas or thoughts of which they haven't thought of before, just like when I listen, watch or read some other person's opinion, it makes me think and assess my own feelings.

"Don't get me wrong — I'll say shit about Democrats just as much as I'll say things about Republicans, and at the end of the day, that's my opinion," he added. "Those other people that can't handle any other opinions but their own are just ignorant. These are the same people that don't own a passport. They don't travel abroad and have just one very closed-minded view on life. That's just so depressing when you think about it. How are they going to understand the world or other cultures if they have never travelled anywhere? It's just bizarre."

Nearly four years ago, the drummer spoke about the 2016 presidential election, saying that it was "a very, very scary time out there" and slamming the Republican party for "never [giving] Obama a bit of a chance to really do things." He added: "Maybe this whole Donald Trump thing is meant to destroy the Republican party, what it's become. Maybe this is what he's trying… Because he was a Democrat, and he went over to the Republican party. Maybe this is… He's sabotaging them without them even knowing it."

At the time, Benante went on to criticize the two political parties for being unwilling to work together, both sides wanting things to go their own way entirely. He said: "Things have been heating up and heating up. I always thought that the Republicans never gave Obama a bit of a chance to really do things. And, of course, even me just saying that, if people read what I just said, they would come down hard on me for saying that, because they hate Obama so much. And, I mean, he has done some things that have been good, but other people would look at it as, 'No. He's the worst.' But I don't think anyone was as [bad] as the way George [W.] Bush fucked this country over. And these Republicans don't even acknowledge that — that he fucked this country up so much. He put us in a war that we didn't have to be in. And I truly think that ISIS and all that is because of that whole situation."

BÜTCHER Stream New Song "666 Goats Carry My Chariot"

Hard-rocking ultra-black speed metallers Bütcher have premiered their new track "666 Goats Carry My Chariot"; listen below.

The song is the title track to the band's second album, 666 Goats Carry My Chariot, set for international release on January 31st via Osmose Productions.

Bütcher vocalist R Hellshrieker reports: "We are extremely proud to see the upcoming album taking its final twisted form. We have worked tremendously hard to make this a unique output in the overabundance of digitally altered releases. The sonic layers of analog mayhem that have shaped our identity on the first album were molded once again in the Voodoosound Studios, but this time with a clear focus. With the previous experience under our belt, there was far less need for experimenting with all the vintage equipment, and we took the opportunity to include every detail that accentuates the deeper layers of the songs. This brings it as close as possible to the vision that main songwriter KK Ripper and I intended for this LP."

Continuing, he says, "The album was recorded in just one week, a very short timespan for an analog recording - where the title song, for instance, uses all 24 tracks on the tape! - and with LV Speedhämmer laying down the drums after only joining the band 1-2 weeks prior to the recordings. It was a turbulent period for the band, dealing with last minute line-up changes and constantly playing live shows during most of the year. But it has paid off - the album lives, it thrives, it breathes with vicious abandon, and it assaults the mind of the listener. One can almost taste the anger, the tenacity, the strength and the perseverance on this. In the face of adversity, the album was constantly playing in our heads, and KK Ripper has just pumped out riff after riff, lead after lead, the way he composed it. I turned my lungs into leather for this and screamed out all my frustrations. And now it is a victory for us to be able to present this full-length effort in its splendid glory."

R Hellshrieker concludes: "With a sublime mastering by Arthur Rizk, this album seems to be played straight from mount Olympus, and granted both grandeur and destructive power by the thunderbolts of Zeus himself. The album flows from pure speed 'n' heavy metal over extreme thrash, to a black/speed/heavy metal hybrid on side B. To accompany our mixture of metal, there was only ever going to be the epic artwork of none other than Kris Verwimp.  To Bütcher, there is simply no better way to use that as the finishing touch for an Osmose release. We couldn’t have been more proud of the result. And the time for absolute vengeance, and our Second Prayer in service to the Godz of Steele, is nigh."

Tracklisting:

"Inauguration Of Steele"
"Iron Bitch"
"45 RPM Metal"
"Metallström/Face The Bütcher"
"Sentinels Of Dethe"
"666 Goats Carry My Chariot"
"Viking Funeral"
"Brazen Serpent"
"Exaltation Of Sulphur"

SYSTEM OF A DOWN Singer Condemns TRUMP's Attack On Iran: 'We're Saying No To Another War!'

SYSTEM OF A DOWN frontman Serj Tankian has implied that President Trump may have ordered the killing of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani to distract the public from impeachment proceedings.

Trump personally ordered the killing by airstrike of Iran's top general, who was viewed by the United States as a ruthless killer. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi released a statement saying that Trump ordered the airstrike "without the consultation of Congress."

Tankian suggested on Friday that Trump was thinking of his own political future when he authorized the killing of Soleimani.

"A month before his impeachment trial in the Senate and on an election year Trump makes a call to assassinate a leader of Iran's Revolutionary Guards, " the singer wrote. "A move [Bill] Clinton made, bombing Iraq before his Senate impeachment. We're saying NO TO ANOTHER WAR!"

President Trump on Friday said he ordered the death of Soleimani to stop a war, not start one. He also said Soleimani was plotting "imminent and sinister attacks" on Americans.

Trump told reporters that the general should have been taken out by previous presidents.

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Friday warned that a "harsh retaliation is waiting" for the U.S. after the airstrike that killed Soleimani.

In 2011 and 2012, Trump repeatedly accused President Barack Obama of seeking war with Iran to help win the 2012 presidential election.

During his second term, Obama successfully negotiated the Iran nuclear deal that saw Iran halt its nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief. Two years ago, Trump scrapped the nuclear deal and introduced new sanctions.

DEF LEPPARD's JOE ELLIOTT Guests On DOCTORS OF MADNESS's Comeback Album, 'Dark Times'

DEF LEPPARD singer Joe Elliott makes a guest appearance on the comeback album by the reunited British protopunk art rock band DOCTORS OF MADNESS. Joe contributed backing vocals to six songs on "Dark Times", including the LP's first single, "Make It Stop!"

DOCTORS OF MADNESS were active as a recording and touring band from 1975 until late 1978. They found cult level acclaim and recognition in the '70s, but had little commercial success. Since then, they have come to be regarded as prime movers who were forerunners of the later punk movement. The Guardian described DOCTORS OF MADNESS as "the missing link between David Bowie and THE SEX PISTOLS."

Exploding on to the music scene in 1975 with their theatrical, William Burroughs-inspired sci-fi nightmare, DOCTORS OF MADNESS were misunderstood by many, but those who knew understood the importance of the band's dangerous, uncompromising approach to lyrics, to music and to performance.

They were the first to combine the avant-garde approach of THE VELVET UNDERGROUND with a distinctly European aesthetic. The blue hair, exotic stage-names, the lyrical themes of urban decay, political propaganda, mind control and madness were all taken up by the punk bands who followed in their wake.

Produced by John Leckie (RADIOHEAD, STONE ROSES, PINK FLOYD), "Dark Times" features additional contributions from Sarah Jane Morris (COMMUNARDS), Terry Edwards (PJ HARVEY, NICK CAVE, TINDERSTICKS), Steve "Boltz" Bolton (THE WHO, SCOTT WALKER, ATOMIC ROOSTER) and the young protest singer Lily Bud (SARAH JANE MORRIS, BAND OF HOLY JOY), alongside the current thrilling and thunderous DOCTORS OF MADNESS rhythm section of Susumu Ukei (bass) and Mackii Ukei (drums) of the Japanese extreme glam-metal band SISTER PAUL, and Dylan O Bates (violin and keyboards). All songs were written by Richard "Kid" Strange (vocals, guitar) and Elizabeth Dearsley.

"Dark Times" was released last September to little fanfare, with the official music video for "Make It Stop!" receiving less than 200 views as of this story's publication.

TEMPLE OF VOID - New Album, The World That Was, Due In March

Shadow Kingdom Records has set March 27th as the international release date for Temple Of Void's third album, The World That Was, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Graced by cover artwork courtesy of Adam Burke, The World That Was takes the listener on the most cohesive journey Temple Of Void have crafted to date. From that cover art featuring five figures sailing down the river into the gaping maw of a fiery mountain temple, being led by Charon, to the sequencing of the tracks, ending in the epic, nearly 10-minute title track, The World That Was is a winding, windswept landscape dotted with surprising twists and turns, much of it unexpected territory whilst undoubtedly feeling very much like classic Temple Of Void.

Whereas the band's first album skewed more doom and the second more death, The World That Was seemingly slots in between the two poles, mountainous as ever. More accurately, the scales perhaps might tip more "doom" here, but the manner in which Temple Of Void express that doom has definitely broadened: they're proudly a doom-death band, but on evidence of this third album, they're painting with even more colors in their no-less-crushing palette.

Of note within that palette are the synths and sound design employed across The World That Was, collectively / alternately provided by Omar Jon Ajluni, Meredith Davidson, and Alex Awn. These synths add a cohesion and depth to the album that truly makes it more cinematic and atmospheric whilst not once lessening Temple Of Void's heavyweight aspect. Granted, synths have featured on every Temple Of Void album, but their incorporation / synthesis here reflects a maturity and refinement of atmosphere that eclipses anything the band have done before.

Perhaps most revealingly, Temple Of Void's pool of influences have shaped this bold refinement. As Alex Awn explains, "This album sees a considerable outside influence from the likes of Alice In Chains, Failure, Pearl Jam, and Ride. However, don’t expect to hear these bands creep up overtly. This is still very much a death-doom record; there’s no U-turn in sound. It’s just that we draw from a very deep well of disparate influences to create the unique sound that is Temple Of Void. Details, ideas, structures, tones, and chords may come from grunge, but we blend them and incorporate in our own way, so it never feels like a pastiche. The likes of Morbid Angel and Bolt Thrower still fuel the backbone of what we do."

And that backbone should definitely appeal to fans of Asphyx, early Amorphis, early Katatonia, Morgoth, early Paradise Lost, Hooded Menace, and of course the aforementioned Bolt Thrower. The World That Was is a frightening place to behold!

Tracklisting:

"A Beast Among Us"
"Self-Schism"
"A Single Obolus"
"Leave The Light Behind"
"Casket Of Shame"
"The World That Was"

SATYRICON Bassist ANDERS ODDEN Diagnosed With Colon Cancer

Norwegian heavy metal musician Anders Odden is preparing to undergo surgery for colon cancer. The procedure, which is scheduled for next Monday (January 6), is expected to remove the malignant tumors and any nearby lymph nodes.

Odden, the co-founder and guitarist of the death metal band CADAVER and the bass player for the legendary black metal band SATYRICON, revealed his cancer diagnosis in a December 29 Instagram post.

According to Odden, he originally wanted to go public with his illness after the operation, but changed his mind after he was moved by a video message he received from former TURBONEGRO singer Hank Von Hell and MOTÖRHEAD drummer Mikkey Dee, who had played a special concert on December 28 in Gothenburg, Sweden to raise money for cancer research.

Anders posted the above-mentioned video and wrote in an accompanying message: "I wanted to wait to tell you all about my condition until my surgery was done, but then I got this video clip. On my musical hero Lemmy's, death date (28.12.2015) my friend Hank Von Hell is in Sweden raising money for the cancer cause with MOTÖRHEAD drummer Mikkey Dee. Getting this video was very touching and made me wanna share it with you to raise money for cancer research.

"I was diagnosed with colon cancer the 3rd of October 2019. Since then I have done chemotherapy to shrink the tumor down so I can undergo surgery.

"The surgery date is set to the 6th of January 2020. The doctors have told me that everything will go as planed and that I will get rid of this cancer. It's a tough journey, but I am ready. Have a happy new year and I will see you when I am through. #cancer #coloncancer #cancerresearch #mikkeydee #hankvonhell #motorhead #riplemmykilmister"

CADAVER was among the first Norwegian extreme metal bands to gain any recognition away from their homeland. With a sound that mixed the raging brutality of POSSESSED and DEATH to a distinctly Norwegian sense of discord and disquiet, Odden and his teenage bandmates secured a deal with Earache Records sub-label Necrosis and released its debut album, "Hallucinating Anxiety", in 1990 (initially as a split with Swedish kindred spirits CARNAGE). A more progressive and adventurous but no less vicious follow-up, "...In Pains", arrived in 1992: but for all their momentum and unique, malevolent charm, the first CADAVER lineup was ultimately doomed to disintegrate barely a year later.

Last year, CADAVER launched a comeback with a brand new song, "Circle Of Morbidity", featuring MEGADETH (and former SOILWORK) drummer Dirk Verbeuren and guest vocals from Jeff Becerra (POSSESSED).

BUCKCHERRY Collaborates With Rapper WIFISFUNERAL On 'Crazy Bitch' Remix

Californian rockers BUCKCHERRY have teamed up with American rapper and songwriter Isaiah Rivera, better known by his stage name Wifisfuneral, for a remix of their smash hit "Crazy Bitch". "Crazy Bitch (The Butcher Mix)" is available for pre-save on Spotify and will arrive on Friday, January 10.

BUCKCHERRY announced the collaboration in a social media post earlier today. The band wrote: "New year, new decade and we are kicking it off with a surprise. We've had this idea for a minute and here it is…we decided to remix 'Crazy Bitch' AND we have collaborated on it with Wifisfuneral who we are huge fans of. To ALL our fans who have this song, we can't wait for you to hear this new version."

The original version of "Crazy Bitch" appeared on BUCKCHERRY's multi-platinum third album, 2005's "15". Vocalist Josh Todd discussed the LP's unexpected success during a recent appearance on the "Appetite For Distortion" podcast. He said: "This is when MySpace is happening, and 'Crazy Bitch' was getting all these views or listens... people were playing that song," he recalled. "It was over a million, and we were, like, 'Oh my God — what is going on with this song?' All of a sudden, radio DJs started editing a clean version of the song and put it on the radio. We didn't even ask. We were like, 'Oh my God — this song's taking off on its own,' and we jumped on 'Crazy Bitch'… And it just changed the scope of our career... It almost didn't even make the record. It had been sitting around for a while. We just thought it would be a good crowd tune — like, our core fans would really like it and it'd be fun to play live. We didn't think much of it because of the lyrical content."

In a separate interview with Vegas Rocks! magazine, Todd stated about the inspiration for "Crazy Bitch": "The idea came to me when I was driving around in L.A. at the time. Paris Hilton put out these sex tapes — or, I don't think she put them out; I don't know how they came out. But basically, she launched her entertainment career with some homemade porn, and I just thought that was funny. Then I started reminiscing about my youth, and I had a lot of crazy girls that I had met when I was younger. I just started singing [the] chorus of 'Crazy Bitch', and I just wanted to record it. I think I called my mom, because I didn't have an iPhone or anything at that time. I called my mom to record it on her [answering] machine so I wouldn't forget it. I just said, 'Don't erase this — I want to remember it. We'll talk about it later.'"

BUCKCHERRY is continuing to tour in support of its latest album, "Warpaint", which was released in March 2019 via Century Media/RED Music. The 12-song record was produced by Mike Plotnikoff, whose previous collaboration with the band was the aforementioned "15".

MAYAN/Ex-STREAM OF PASSION Singer MARCELA BOVIO Is Battling Cervical Cancer

Marcela Bovio, the Mexican singer, violinist, songwriter, and vocal teacher, who is currently a member of the Dutch symphonic death metal band MAYAN, is undergoing treatment for cervical cancer.

Known for her melancholic, emotional voice and her other work with bands like STREAM OF PASSION, AYREON, THE GENTLE STORM, THE GATHERING and MAIDEN UNITED, Bovio revealed her cancer diagnosis in a social media post last month.

She wrote: "Dear friends, you may have notice I've been very quiet lately on social media. And a few of you know this already, but a lot of you don't so I thought I'd just publish this here. Be warned, it's heavy news... I have cervical cancer, and I'm currently undergoing treatment for it. It's been a nerve-wrecking journey so far, it's very hard to put my head around it and accept it; but it's getting easier every day and I think an important part of it is to just put it out there. I'm also very lucky to have family and friends that have provided me with an incredible amount of support.

Marcela continued: "I'm happy to say that so far the treatment has gone quite ok and I haven't felt very bad physically. The prognosis is also very positive, so I hope in a few months I can be free of this thing and share some good news with you!

"I can't wait for the day I can climb back on a stage again and sing for you. In the meantime, good vibes are much appreciated"

Bovio, who has lived in the Netherlands for more than a decade, has also pursued a solo career in recent years, having released the "Found!" EP in 2015, followed by two full-length albums, 2016's "Unprecedented" and 2018's "Through Your Eyes".

In a 2018 interview with Lyrical Spell Magazine, the now-40-year-old talked about how she first started singing and eventually got involved in the heavy metal genre.

"I've loved singing ever since I can remember," she said. "I don't think I was inspired by someone in particular or at least not that I can recall.

"When I was in my teens, I started listening to rock, heavy rock and metal. I think it was through friends that I initially came in touch with this kind of music. I then started listening to this radio show called 'Distorsión' that aired in the middle of the night on Sunday. I discovered a lot of fantastic bands there like THE 3RD AND THE MORTAL, CELESTIAL SEASON and THE GATHERING. I loved how emotional metal was, how all kinds of feelings like extreme anger and sadness could be portrayed without making compromises. I was hooked."

KRVSADE Streaming New Track “Keep It In The Church”

Charlotte’s Krvsade is ready to unleash their new EP Judgement Day"on January 31, 2020 with the single ‘Keep It In The Church' in anticipation of the next installment of the North Carolina’s thrash metal fury.

They have come a long way from their 2017 debut EP Militum Infernum and Krvsade is excited to show off this stark contrast to the previous material to fans. Comparing the new release to their previous one, the band states:

“This EP is definitely a change compared to ‘Militum Infernum’. Whereas Militum was more raw and pure in your face, 'Judgement Day' has some twists and turns. The playing is better and I think fans will appreciate a band that’s firing on all cylinders and not holding anything back.”

New, refreshed and boasting some line-up changes, Krvsade is here to stay. Judgement Day is coming and it’s going to be an exciting, aggressive ride for everyone. The single “Keep It In The Church” marks the start of a new era for the group and the EP as a whole is just an appetizer for the main course which is to come. When asked about the new single, Krvsade responds:

“This song is calling out people that use religion as an excuse to treat others poorly. Living in the south you see a lot of people think they have a better opinion or know your life and get to give you advice because of that. Fast and thrashing with a catchy chorus the song has a lot to say and hopefully, anyone going through similar troubles knows they aren’t alone.”

Tracklisting:

“Judgement Day”
“Keep It In The Church”
“The Key And The Gate”

STITCHED UP HEART: Lyric Video For New Song 'Bones'

Rockers STITCHED UP HEART have released a lyric video for their new song "Bones". The track is taken from the band's forthcoming full-length sophomore album "Darkness", due out on March 13 via Another Century.

"Darkness" will feature previously released tracks such as "Lost" (featuring a guest appearance by Sully Erna of GODSMACK), "Darkness", "Warrior", "Problems", "Crooked Halo", "Dead Roses" and "This Skin". The upcoming full-length album was produced by FROM FIRST TO LAST singer/guitarist Matt Good (producer of ASKING ALEXANDRIA and HOLLYWOOD UNDEAD).

Fans can grab "Darkness" on CD and vinyl along with merchandise bundles exclusively at CenturyMedia.store, including a "Darkness" t-shirt, logo pullover hoodie, logo beanie, and signed "Darkness" lithograph posters (limited to 200).

STITCHED UP HEART's official music video for the song "Warrior", directed by Ron Thunderwood and STITCHED UP HEART frontwoman Alecia "Mixi" Demner, will make its online debut on January 10.

Demner told Live Metal about STITCHED UP HEART's decision to release one new song every few weeks until "Darkness" arrives: "The way that music is these days, you give people an album, and then they play that album for a month, and then they're done and they've moved on to the next whatever's new. But if you give them the whole album, you've spent, 30, 60, 100 grand — however much the producer is, however much everybody negotiated the price, blah blah blah; it costs a lot of money. You give them everything you've got, and you're, like, 'All right, well, I've got nothing new for a while.' I figured — and the powers that be had brought this to my attention — let's do a song at a time and see what happens and keep things going and moving along."

She continued: "Not too many rock bands have really tried that. I believe that music will start going into that, where people release smaller segments or just one song at a time, because the way people’s attention span is. You give people a whole album, and then it's done and moved on. Now, we still have a whole album. If we had released it already, then you guys would already have it and that's it. But this also is cool because it separates every song that we release individually. They all get their own lyric video, instead of that one song on the album that you all forget about. They all get their own moment."

STITCHED UP HEART recently completed a North American tour with STEEL PANTHER.
