Guitarist Aydan of Italian folk-metallers ELVENKING has been forced to sit out the band's remaining shows in March after breaking his shoulder in a skiing accident. He says, "I was skiing with some friends. I don’t know exactly what happened but I lost my skis and jumped above, landing heavily with my shoulders and face on a block of ice hard as concrete. My shoulder was broken and I was operated on Thursday, March 12. The doctors placed a metal plate fixed with nine screws in order to maintain the bone. Pretty cool! Now I am finally back home but I still cannot move the arm. Obviously I am not able to play guitar at the moment, but I will do anything to be able to be back on stage as soon as possible."
ELVENKING will utilize the services of session guitarist Leonardo for the remaining March dates in Italy, Holland, Germany and Belgium.
ELVENKING recently announced the addition of second guitarist Rafahel to the group's ranks. Fans who had an opportunity to see the band perform over the course of the last year will recognize Rafahel, since he played a lot of gigs with the band around Italy and Europe.
