GRETA VAN FLEET has released its first new song in more than a year, "My Way, Soon", via Lava/Republic Records. The song is a liberating and jubilant track that celebrates and reflects the band's personal transformation over the past three years. Also released is the track's companion music video, which was shot, edited, and directed by the band.
Says GRETA VAN FLEET vocalist Josh Kiszka: "This song was inspired by what three years of touring did by opening so many doorways. This is my truth, how I feel about all of our travels, but I know it echoes the experiences and changes of perspectives for Jake, Sam and Danny as well."
When GRETA VAN FLEET released "Highway Tune" in March of 2017, a song that they wrote in their parent's garage before any of them had turned 18, they had no idea the change it would bring to their lives. The song would go on to become an international hit and top Billboard's Mainstream Rock Singles chart. "Highway Tune" would be followed by three more consecutive No. 1 singles, a debut album that entered Billboard's Top Rock Albums and Top Album Sales charts at No. 1, a Grammy Award for "Best Rock Album," appearances on "The Tonight Show" and "Saturday Night Live", a gold-certified debut album, an overflow crowd at their Coachella debut, a personal phone call from Elton John inviting them to perform at his Academy Awards Viewing Party, and most consequentially, 246 sold-out tour dates in 13 countries over five continents.
The four GRETA VAN FLEET bandmembers — Josh and his twin brother Jake Kiszka (guitars), younger brother Sam (bass, keyboards), and longtime family friend Danny Wagner (drums) — were still under the legal drinking age, and two of them hadn't yet graduated from high school. However, within a few months, they left their safe and familiar family homes in Frankenmuth, Michigan, and entered a whole new — and entirely unanticipated — whirlwind of a world. A world where they would learn and grow beyond their wildest imagination.
As Danny explains: "The definition of 'normal' has very much broadened over the past couple of years, and it has affected us as musicians, especially in the writing and recording of this new album. We realized that while growing up, we had been shielded by a lot of things, we were unaware of a lot of things. And then we were thrown out into this huge world, and it was a bit of a culture shock at first."
"We've seen how people live in different parts of the world," adds Sam, "and we've developed intrinsic respect for different cultures and people. We've gone from driving down a highway to a show and seeing endless miles of shantytowns in Sao Paulo, to playing some of the richest places on earth."
Says Jake: "The more we've seen — different cultures, people, and traditions — we've also seen a similarity between ourselves and these different cultures. It surprises me how similar we all are."
Kings of masterful heavy metal parodies, Nanowar Of Stee,l bless the world with yet another spectacular music video, for their new single “Uranus”, featuring none other than glam icon Michael Starr of Steel Panther. Showing off their incredible choreography skills in shiny space suits, Nanowar Of Steel dance their way straight into your heart - and Uranus!
Michael Starr says about the video for “Uranus”: “This video will make your penis bigger with one view. The more times you view it, the bigger your penis will get. You’re welcome. ‘Uranus’ is a must watch video. It’s the only way to have your first eye orgasms. A fun video with a great story line. If you don’t like this song you must be deaf. If you don’t like this video you must be blind.”
Gatto Panceri 666 of Nanowar Of Steel adds about the video for “Uranus”: “I know, this joke has been used and abused since 1781, from the very first day William Herschel discovered this planet. However, being a practicing astronomer and a professional idiot, I felt I had more right to use it as the subject of a song to be dignified with a Lady Gaga-level video (in all humbleness). Perhaps it won't be the most original pun ever, but one thing we can tell you for sure: this joke turned out to be the most expensive one we've ever told so far!”
Nanowar Of Steel celebrates the successful release of their previously sold out 2018 album, Stairway To Valhalla, with an exclusive first ever reissue on vinyl via Napalm Records on December 4, now available for pre-order.
The reissued vinyl edition will be available in two different colors and comes along with a bonus CD as well as yet-unreleased fountains of fun, starting with party smashing “Uranus” featuring Michael Starr. Sabaton have released a new animated video clip for their song "Night Witches", that was created in collaboration with Yarn Hub. Watch below.
Pär Sundström comments: “I first came into contact with Yarn Hub when a fan recommended a video that was connected to one of our songs and I was impressed by the emotions Yarn Hub delivers in their videos. When Yarn Hub asked if they could feature our singer Joakim in a small cameo I said yes instantly and thought it added such a nice touch to the episode about T.E Lawrence. After that we started to discuss if we could do something together and the idea of 'Night Witches' was born. It was impossible not to become emotional when I saw the animated short film for the first time. This is a different way of telling these stories, but what a fantastic way! Enjoy it friends, this is something special.”
Yarn Hub comments: “Working with Sabaton started when we got permission to do a cameo of Joakim at the grave of Lawrence of Arabia. We're all long time Sabaton fans as they really capture with passion the epic moments of history. Seeing there was no official video for 'Night Witches', we reached out with an idea to the Sabaton management team and graciously were given permission to do a collaboration.
"To be entrusted to do this was a huge honor. In this story we try and capture the hardship that these young women had to overcome and their journey through sacrifice and bravery to become respected by all.... even their enemies. Working with Sabaton's original music was really daunting. For a 7 minute video, playing the original music on loop wasn't going to effectively narrate the entire story, so we wrote some additional music to "extend" the 'Night Witches'. Often for us it's difficult to do a long battle scene with narration, so in this video to use the unadulterated Sabaton music for the battle was an absolute gift.“
About Yarn Hub: Yarn Hub is a small group of artists, animators and musicians that want to make history videos that make you feel a connection to the people in the story. They strive to animate them in a way that honors the epicness of history, rather than just listing facts. That means original artwork, animation and writing and performing original music in their videos. They have transformed their style since starting out in just 2019 moving from 2D into what is 3D but with a 2D feel. They are not looking to do photo realism but they are trying to tell stories that convey meaning and emotion as much as they can within the limits of their style.

Colorado-based thrashers, Havok, have released a brand new music video for the song “Fear Campaign”, taken off their current record V, which was released earlier this year.
Havok guitarist/vocalist David Sanchez comments: “Although it was written in 2019, 'Fear Campaign' sounds like it should be the theme song for 2020. The lyrics seem to become more and more relevant as the weeks go by. In the video, we wanted to capture the manic nature of media, propaganda, and other forms of mind control that have plagued civilization for thousands of years. The fear campaign appears to be at an all-time high right now and the only way to end it is to stop being afraid. Reject fear.”
V, Havok’s fifth studio album and relentless follow-up to 2017’s Conformicide effort, was engineered, mixed, mastered by Mark Lewis (Cannibal Corpse, The Black Dahlia Murder, etc.) and showcases stunning artwork by Eliran Kantor (Testament, Hatebreed, etc.). Get your copy here.
Havok is:
Reece Alan Scruggs - Lead Shred
Pete Webber - Lead Drums
David Sanchez - Lead Riffs / Lead Vocals
Brandon Bruce - Lead Bass / Backing Vocals

In the rapidly evolving sphere of streamed events, "Forum Or Against 'Em" was an industry first. Taylor recorded the effort with his band consisting of Jason Christopher on bass, Dustin Schoenhofer on drums, and Zach Throne and Christian Martucci (STONE SOUR) on guitar. The LP was completed at Kevin Churko's The Hideout Recording Studio in Las Vegas with producer Jay Ruston, who has previously worked with ANTHRAX, STEEL PANTHER and STONE SOUR, among others.
SLIPKNOT recently canceled all of its previously announced summer 2020 tour dates, including the "Knotfest Roadshow", Knotfest UK and Knotfest At Sea, due to the coronavirus pandemic which is sweeping the globe.
The official music video for "Divider", the new single from openly Christian hard rockers STRYPER, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's latest album, "Even The Devil Believes", which was released on September 4 via Frontiers Music Srl.
STRYPER comments: "We are so amazed at the response of our first video, 'Do Unto Others'.
"We are very blessed to have been able to not only shoot one video but to also shoot a second video for 'Divider'.
"This song has received an incredible amount of positive comments from fans worldwide. And to top it off, we recorded a group of fans on the choruses. They nailed it!!
"We're very happy to bring you yet another incredible video (despite the obstacles and difficulties of trying to do so) and we hope you like what you see/hear. Please help us spread the word and take this one to the top. Here is 'Divider'!"
Filled with the band's signature riffs, harmony-laden melodies and positive themes, the 11-track project is STRYPER's first studio album with Perry Richardson (FIREHOUSE) on bass and background vocals.
"We're incredibly happy to write a new chapter in the book of STRYPER," says vocalist/guitarist Michael Sweet, who has served as the band's primary songwriter since its inception in 1983. "This album was recorded during the pandemic, and I believe the message pertains to the times we are living in so perfectly. It's a recording of hope and inspiration and a light in the darkest of times."
Sweet, who also produced the new album, revealed that the band members delivered focused determination, a collaborative spirit and spot-on execution for the new record. The result is a collection of remarkable songs that will leave a strong impact on listeners.
"It has an energy unlike any other album we've done," he asserts. "We even pulled a song from the past that has never been heard or released, and by doing so we brought a little bit of 1989 back into the mix."
Other standout tracks include "Blood From Above", "Make Love Great Again", "Do Unto Others", "How To Fly" and the heart-stirring ballad "This I Pray".
"The music and lyrics are rock-solid," says Sweet. "God really blessed this one and hopefully it will bless everyone who hears it as well."
Most of the recording sessions for STRYPER's new LP took place at SpiritHouse Recording Studios in Northampton, Massachusetts with engineer Danny Bernini.
Formed 37 years ago, STRYPER is the first overtly Christian metal band to go mainstream. The group's name comes from Isaiah 53:5, which states: "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."
STRYPER's albums include "To Hell With The Devil", "Second Coming", "No More Hell To Pay", "Fallen" and "God Damn Evil".
Birmingham, AL based BrokenRail has released the official music video for their new single, "The Hate". Written and recorded during the lockdowns, "The Hate" not only introduces an all new era of BrokenRail, but captures the raw emotion of being left behind in a world trapped with panic, chaos, unrest, uncertainty, and anxiety. It reflects the current state of the world facing lockdown, financial insecurity, social unrest, and the overall experience of living through a global pandemic. We must come together and accept our differences and find the common ground amongst us. United we are strong, divided we fall.
"When writing 'The Hate' we really wanted the song to not only showcase the abilities of each of our members, but to also reflect all of the negative emotion worldwide stemming from the virus and the lockdowns it caused. We feel between the song itself, and the video we created, we truly captured a snapshot of the current state of the world as COVID-19 helped fan the flames and fuel the fires of hate across our Earth. We hope you enjoy the new direction and we're thrilled to bring you the new album later this year!" - Blake Clawson (lead vocalist)
The Agonist vocalist Vicky Psarakis has released another cover song along with the following message:
"Me and Cody Johnstone had so much fun filming this. I know I could not stop smiling while editing the footage. Here we go guys... here's our tribute to the great Devin Townsend! Happy October!"
Psarakis recently checked in with the following:
"Aaaand it's out! Check out my cover of 'Only For The Weak' by In Flames!
I first heard this song over half of my life ago. Clayman was one of the albums that I blasted on repeat as a teenager and a big reason for me getting into death metal! Really happy to have worked with Quentin Cornet on this one. He did an excellent job on recording and mixing the entire track!
Italian Gothic metal band, Cadaveria, have released a music video for "Return", the new single digitally released worldwide on October 2. Listen/download the single here.

UK-based Season Of Ghosts have released an official video for "How The Story Ends" exclusively through BraveWords. Check it out below. The track is taken from the band's second studio album, A Leap Of Faith, released October 23rd, 2018.
"A Leap Of Faith came to life, as the result of our collective experiences since the creation of first album The Human Paradox and although one could say that four years is not such a long period of time, a lot has changed within and without, on every possible level," says Season Of Ghosts vocalist Sophia Aslanides.
"Every challenge, of course, is an opportunity in disguise, as well as a valuable lesson, so me and Sam attempted to put this into music and words. In A Leap Of Faith, as well as everything I've ever worked on, every word has a purpose, every note, every meaning has been carefully selected with intent. We do not believe in fast fashion, fast art, therefore we create slowly, hoping that our songs will mean something to someone in the years to come. This album bears significant emotional weight for us who created it, existential intensity, but also it's very pleasant to the ear, easy to listen, hopeful. We feel it conveys a straightforward, honest, loving message to those who'll let it be their life soundtrack for an hour or so."
"For the needs of A Leap Of Faith, we combined our musical influences, spanning from Japanese visual kei, to American rock, to European metal, inviting our friends from all over the world to contribute with their unique musical style, Fatal FE (ex-Fail Emotions) from Russia, who was in charge for most keyboards, Masaki (This is a Pen) from Japan, who played piano on 'You Are Not Your Pain' and of course Mr Fusix who worked his magic on the mix and master. My good friend Intetsu from Japanese Visual Kei band, Ayabie, handled all photography and videos, the ethical, ethnopunk UK brand, Psylo, took care of our costumes and Sam along with Paul were in charge of art direction. Looking back, it's so surprising that sometimes darkness can create something so harmonious, beautiful and full of light."
"A Leap Of Faith is not a concept album like the previous one, but undoubtedly it has a concept if one connects the dots. It emerged during a prolonged period of mental, emotional and physical drought, so it bears a certain level of rawness in its sound, its artistic concept, the photography, the aesthetics, which comes in contradiction to the more lavish atmosphere of The Human Paradox. I am in no way denouncing my beliefs or my style, I just happen to like lots of different things and everyone deserves variety, so this album has been tasked with the mission of conveying our message in a more laconic, no-frills - literally - straightforward way, It's a bittersweet memoir and a peculiar, daily life user manual for those who dare to listen closely. For me, A Leap Of Faith is the music of the spirit, soul- nurturing, it means to offer insight and love, but you, the listener, can take whatever you need from it.".

MACHINE HEAD frontman Robb Flynn has paid tribute to Eddie Van Halen, who died on Tuesday (October 6) at the age of 65. The legendary VAN HALEN guitarist died at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, California. His wife, Janie, was by his side, along with his son, Wolfgang, and Alex, Eddie's brother and VAN HALEN drummer.
Writing in the latest installment of his online blog, "The General Journals: Diary Of A Frontman... And Other Ramblings", Flynn said: "My mind is seriously blown right now. I cried today... a couple times. He is the G.O.A.T. Guitarists still haven't caught up to what he’s accomplished on those first five records. He was one in a billion.
"I was just playing 'Eruption' two days ago at the request of a fan, thinking, goddamn this song is still so fucking hard to play over 40 years later. And that fucking guitar tone… Seriously… that fucking guitar tone even in this day and age is complete savagery.
"Dude was a ROCK STAR. Larger than life personality, so much style, so much class. They broke the mold with Eddie Van Halen. Rest in peace legend".
Flynn added a video of him playing Eddie Van Halen's classic instrumental "Eruption", saying: "Nothing will ever be as good as the original, but I'm gonna keep on trying every day, like I have for 30 years, to get that good."
Robb also posted an episode of his "No Fuckin' Regrets With Robb Flynn" podcast in which he pays "an emotional tribute to the late great Eddie Van Halen who was a MASSIVE influence on my playing, and the guitar world in general, the EVH posters I had on my wall, the reason I play leads/solos holding the guitar pick like Eddie, the time Frank from HATEBREED and I bugged out on the completely insane isolated guitar track for 'I'm The One', the licks that I borrowed on MH tunes from the master, and I play some of my favorite songs and solos."
Eddie died from complications due to cancer, his son confirmed.
KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons has paid tribute to Eddie Van Halen, who died earlier today (Tuesday, October 6) at the age of 65. The legendary VAN HALEN guitarist's death was confirmed by his son, and VAN HALEN bassist, Wolfgang Van Halen.
Less than a couple of hours ago, Simmons tweeted out a video message in which he said: "I just found out that Eddie Van Halen passed away. I'm heartbroken. He wasn't just a guitar god to millions of people, but Eddie was a gentle soul. What can I say? Rest in peace, Eddie. Rest in peace."
Simmons has claimed in several interviews that he once had to talk Eddie out of leaving VAN HALEN and teaming up with KISS. Asked in the April 2014 issue of Guitar World if it was true that Van Halen wanted to join KISS around the time of 1982's "Creatures Of The Night" album, Simmons said: "That is true. And he was very serious. He was so unhappy about how he and [David Lee] Roth were — or weren't — getting along. He couldn't stand him. And drugs were rampant. And so he took me to lunch, to a diner right across the street from the Record Plant. Vinnie Vincent, who was not yet in KISS, tagged along, too. Sneaky guy. And Eddie said, 'I want to join KISS. I don't want to fight anymore with Roth. I'm sick and tired of it.' But I told him, 'Eddie, there's not enough room. You need to be in a band where you can direct the music. You're not going to be happy in KISS.' I talked him out of it. It didn't fit."
During the 2018 "Kiss Kruise", KISS frontman Paul Stanley was asked by a fan if there is any truth to the rumor that Eddie nearly ended up in KISS. Paul responded: "No. Eddie Van Halen did not almost join KISS. Eddie [came down to] the studio. I think there was some strife within the band [VAN HALEN] at that point, for him, and Eddie came down just to see what was going on. And I remember he was really blown away by the solo in [the song] 'Creatures [Of The Night]'. He said, 'Get that guy.' That guy who played the solo in 'Creatures' was a guy named Steve Farris, who was in a band called MISTER MISTER, who had a bunch of hits. But the guitar player was great. And at that point, Eddie was getting into keyboards. And I remember he brought some tapes of some of the songs he was working on. And it was, like, this guy is this unbelievable guitar player. [I thought], 'Eddie, what are you doing on keyboards?' But that was the start of 'Jump' and all that other stuff that came afterwards. But Eddie was never going to join KISS and was never almost in KISS."
In a 1995 interview with The Times Leader, Eddie was asked if it was true that he met with Gene and Paul in Los Angeles 13 years earlier to discuss the possibility of him joining KISS. He responded: "Not that I know of… Unless I was so fucked up [that] I don't remember. They might have asked me… They might have just asked me in passing, and I just kind of laughed it off, probably. If it happened, I'm sure I would have remembered. Maybe they did ask me and I just thought they were joking."
Simmons has repeatedly taken credit for "discovering" VAN HALEN and flying the band to New York to record a 15-song demo at Electric Lady Studios, with Gene at the production helm. But he ended up not working with the group after his KISS bandmates and manager, Bill Aucoin, expressed little interest in his demos. "I gave the demo back to the band, told them I had a tour to go on and afterward I would try to get them a record deal, but until then, I tore up our contract and set them free," he said. "It didn't take them long to get on Warner Bros."
According to TMZ, Eddie died at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, California. His wife, Janie, was by his side, along with Wolfgang, and Alex, Eddie's brother and VAN HALEN drummer.
The site reports that Eddie's ongoing health battle went massively downhill in the last 72 hours, with doctors discovering his cancer had moved to his brain as well as other organs.
There have been a lot of rumors regarding the VAN HALEN guitarist's supposedly worsening health, with TMZ reporting recently that Van Halen has been traveling between the U.S. and Germany for cancer treatment going on several years now.
Last November, TMZ reported that Eddie spent several days in a hospital due to complications from his cancer treatment. Sources close to the legendary guitarist told the site he was admitted to the hospital with intestinal issues and abdominal pain, both the result of a bad reaction to the drugs Eddie was reportedly taking to battle throat cancer.
Guitarist Bobby Keller has premiered a guitar playthrough video for his new single, “Light Bearer”:
“I am so thankful for the amount of love and support my new single, “Light Bearer”, has been getting since its release! I’m even more excited to unveil a new guitar playthrough video for it! I wanted this video to be more stripped down, personal/intimate, and give a glimpse of what it’s like to be inside the studio with me. The video was directed by Jazel of Black Card Films here in Orlando, Florida, at Full Sail University, with the help of Pierson James, Aandria Noel, and a very special thanks to Logan Belle for helping secure the studio location. Thank you everyone for checking it out, and I hope you all enjoy it just as much as I did making it!” - Bobby Keller
After the successful release of his debut solo single “Reign In Fire,” in March of this year, Keller once again teamed up with producer/mixer/drummer Ben Johnson (New Dilemma, Miss Fortune) to write and record the song at Reverse 13 Studios in Orlando, FL. The track was mastered by Machine (Lamb Of God, Clutch, Fall Out Boy) at The Machine Shop.
Keller has been making his way up the music scene with his unique style of guitar playing since 2009. He is considered one of the top guitar players in Florida and the south east. Inspired by guitarists such as Eddie Van Halen, Jimi Hendrix and Dimebag Darrell, Keller combines both untamed speed and euphonic rhythm into his technique to create a truly individual sound.
With the band Meka Nism, Keller has performed nationally along with numerous renowned artists from a variety of genres, from Evanescence and Stabbing Westward to Hellyeah and Gojira. In 2016, Keller was recruited to star in the Theater Works Production of Rock of Ages as the lead guitar player for the “house band” at the Bourbon Room in Hollywood, CA. Keller teamed up with drummer Ben Johnson last year to make his dream of recording a solo album a reality.
While working on his solo material, Keller has also recently joined the modern rock band New Dilemma. The band’s debut single, “Is Your Story Over,” the opening track from the EP of the same name, features a solo recorded by Keller before officially joining the band. “Is Your Story Over” has charted on the Billboard and Foundations Mainstream Radio Rock Charts.
Through the years Keller has been endorsed by ESP Guitars, EMG Pickups, Richter Straps, Fortin Amps, SIT Strings, WB Gear, Neural DSP, Graph Tech Guitar Labs, FU-Tone, Klotz Cables and JH Audio.
