Guitarist/singer/producer Dario Lorina, best-known as a longtime member of BLACK LABEL SOCIETY (2014 to present),is launching his brand new band, DARK CHAPEL.
Led by Lorina and also featuring Brody DeRozie (guitar),Mike Gunn (bass),and Luis Silva (drums),the band's airtight guitar-craft and sludgy grooves with magnetic melodies, bluesy phrasing, and grunge mystique are spotlighted on their debut album, "Spirit In The Glass", which is due out February 28, 2025 on MNRK Heavy.
The album's first single, "Glass Heart", was released today on all digital outlets. A video for the song can be seen below.
Dario's gritty delivery on the song takes hold on a hypnotic hook, bleeding into a fret-burning lead punctuated by dramatic bends. "'Glass Heart' is a lyrical and almost cinematic musical story that started with a riff and lyrically stemmed from emotion," he reveals. "That emotion created an imagery for me that I began writing about as if that feeling was a painting I was writing to describe."
Striking an elusive balance between dark and heavy, ethereal and passionate, "Spirit In The Glass" is, as Lorina describes, "a culmination of all artistic influence, whether musical or otherwise."
Lorina began his professional career in 2006 when he was 16 as the touring guitarist with the late Jani Lane (ex-WARRANT). At 19, he joined veteran metal act LIZZY BORDEN whom he toured with for four years. He released two instrumental records with Mike Varney on Shrapnel Records in 2013 and 2017, respectively, titled "Dario Lorina" and "Death Grip Tribulations". On January 1, 2014 he joined BLACK LABEL SOCIETY and has since been touring worldwide alongside Zakk Wylde, performing on guitar, piano and backing vocals ever since. Lorina dueled solos with Wylde on BLACK LABEL SOCIETY's 2022 album "Doom Crew Inc.", and he joined Zakk Wylde on the January 2022 cover of Guitar World magazine.
"The guitar never really left my hands," he laughs. Years of woodshedding followed. At 16 years old, he answered the call to audition for Jani Lane and found himself on the road with the ex-WARRANT frontman shortly thereafter.

Former Sabaton guitarist / Majestica frontman Tommy Johansson has shared his weekly cover, this time performing the ZZ Top classic, "Legs". Check out the video below.
Symphonic power metal quartet, Majestica, have announced their brand new studio album, Power Train, which will see the light of day on February 7 via Nuclear Blast Records. After more than four years since their last album, the Swedes are ready to set the bar high once again with their new long player and are presenting their fans what is their strongest album to date.
Power Train is a spellbinding experience that awakens sleeping dreams with powerful riffs and epic choruses. The enchantment rises like a breath of stars, propelling listeners into the heart of a fairytale world. This is particularly evident in the album's first single. With the title track "Power Train", Majestica leaves an exciting first impression and also presents a strong music video, which you can witness below.
Tommy Johansson comments: "Get ready for explosive power metal with a ”can’t stop singing along”-chorus in the new track 'Power Train'. The video literally takes you onboard the Power Train with elements taken from the entire album."
Stream the single here, and pre-order/pre-save the new album here.
When it came to the process of recording and putting all the pieces together, the band did not change a lot compared to the last projects. Again the music was written, recorded, and produced by Majestica themselves.
"Like our previous albums this one is also produced by ourselves, and we recorded most parts in our new place Majestic Studios. For mixing we went back to Jonas Kjellgren as we have been very happy with the sound of A Christmas Carol and Metal United," says bassist Chris Davidsson.
Regarding the amazing artwork for Power Train, Chris explains: "For the artwork we teamed up with Jan Yrlund / Darkgrove design. It invites you to join this majepic ride of the Power Train, imagine standing there on the platform eagerly waiting, and you hear ”all aboard”!"
Power Train contains ten brand new tracks and will be available in the following formats: CD Jewel (incl. booklet), Vinyl, and digital.
Power Train tracklisting:

Night In Gales will release their ninth studio album, entitled Shadowreaper, on December 6th via Apostasy Records. They have released an official video for the new single, "Into The Evergrey", which can be viewed below.
"Into The Evergrey"
"The Horrors Of Endlessness"
"Open The Sun"
"The Nihilist Delta"
"Spirals"
"Dead Inside"
"Window To The End"
"Sculptured And Defleshed"
"Walk Of Infinity"
Since their ‘return’ with 2018’s The Last Sunsets, Night In Gales are consistent in the best sense of that word. They constantly deliver melodic death metal that stays not only true to the core of the genre itself, but is also on par with its classics. And another detail will catch the attention of everyone checking their album titles: There is something more about them than just the absence of light. The “Shadowreaper” symbolizes the final stage of the finiteness of all existence: it shreds the lost souls - aimlessly caught up in “The Black Stream” – so that nothing remains. He is also the incarnation of our nightmares: a stalking horror made of shadows and burnt remains, longing for us all in the final hour.
Musically speaking, Shadowreaper is the next logical step after The Black Stream and kicks right in with "Into The Evergrey", which opens with tasteful acoustic guitars that lead into a driving monster of a song. The following "The Horrors Of Endlessness" feels like a relentless warning against the idea of eternity. While Night In Gales keep the overall speed quite high, they are also able to take the foot off the gas pedal to allow mellow moments like in "The Nihilist Delta" to shine through all ongoing darkness. Ricky Warwick is bringing back the golden age of Christmas songs!
His new single "All I Want For Christmas... Is Christmas!" is out now on your favourite streaming service and available to pre-order for download at this location.
Ricky says of the irresistibly feel-good track: “Christmas for me is a time when the world stops for a day and we can all get off to see the festive lights, take a breath and reset ourselves before getting back on the ride again. My two sisters and I would religiously watch Christmas Top Of The Pops. I was mesmerised by the Glam Rock brilliance of Slade and Roy Wood’s Wizzard.”
“I’m hoping this tune can put a smile on people’s faces at this time of year!”
Listen out for the guitar mastery of The Cult's Billy Duffy and guest vocals from Def Leppard's Joe Elliott (who also makes a cameo in the video).
Black Star Riders / The Almighty frontman, Ricky Warwick, has announced the release of his new solo record, Blood Ties, arriving on March 14, 2025 via Earache Records.
Says Ricky: "To make this news extra special, I’ve released my new single and video, 'Don’t Leave Me In The Dark', featuring the legendary Lita Ford!"
Stream "Don't Leave Me In The Dark" here, and watch the official music video below.
Pre-order Blood Ties here on coloured vinyl, signed CD, collector’s bundles and more.
Warwick adds: "Blood Ties is a look into my deepest, darkest personal demons - but I’ve made sure the guitars were turned up way beyond driven to turn that negativity into an uplifting slab of rock’n’roll that I can’t wait for all of you to hear. Along with Lita Ford, you’ll hear my partners in R’n'R Charlie Starr, Billy Duffy and Tuk Smith amongst others on the album. Thank you to everyone who helped me create Blood Ties but, most importantly, thanks to YOU for making sure that I can keep doing what I love: making music for each and every one of you."
The journey from Belfast to Los Angeles, entwined with a lifetime spent at the coalface of bona fide rock n roll, has made for a heady cocktail of creativity and popularity. Ricky Warwick, founder of The Almighty, Black Star Riders, The Fighting Hearts, acclaimed and respectful frontman of Thin Lizzy since 2011, remains unstoppable.
This time he’s on a solo run with the release of his new album, Blood Ties.
Acknowledging that it was time to mine a deep seam for this record, the busiest man in the business has left nothing in the dressing room. Big cathartic guitar sounds and life-affirming, often joyous assessments of where he stands in this time and place make this album a standout piece of work in a career that has spanned over four decades. The Northern Irish man has spent his time well and the foundations for an album such as Blood Ties have been laid on solid ground.
As a solo artist and an esteemed singer/songwriter in his own right, Ricky Warwick has also collaborated with some of the finest musicians on the planet, with Blood Ties featuring Billy Duffy (The Cult), Lita Ford and Charlie Starr (Blackberry Smoke). Ricky has gathered many strings to his bow and his capacity to deliver new work to an appreciative fanbase with the accuracy of a perfectly flighted arrow is beyond impressive.
Having written with his friend and creative compadre Mr Keith Nelson (Buckcherry, Velvet Revolver, Blackberry Smoke) on this album, Ricky stresses that the guitars are turned up “beyond driven” on Blood Ties. When Warwick is as happy as this with a new work, you can rest assured there’s another hit album barrelling down the track... And it’s coming at a pace.
Theatrical rock artist Kore Rozzik's return to the music scene is here with the electrifying new single and music video "The Dollar"; a gripping exploration of the complexities of greed, temptation and manipulation in an unfortunate material and politically charged society.
This latest release, recorded by Grammy-nominated engineer Dan Malsch (Ghost, Avenged Sevenfold), is an unabashed commentary on society's obsession with money, layered with Rozzik’s signature rock-infused style and punchy lyrics. "The Dollar" showcases Kore's evolution as an artist, delivering an irresistible fusion of hard-hitting riffs and mesmerizing melodies. With lines that resonate with urgency and authenticity, Kore Rozzik demonstrates the frustration of political division, the chase for status and the loss of innocence.
The music video, directed by Jim Foster (Red13), was shot in a vintage abandoned bank in Pittsburgh, adding a unique aesthetic that complements the song's themes. Local talent serves as the outcast group in question, creating a powerful visual narrative that juxtaposes scenes of opulence with moments of stark reality, showcasing Kore's magnetic stage presence.
The visuals are complemented by stunning cinematography and dynamic editing that mirror the song's pulsating energy. "I wanted to create something that resonates with everyone, whether you’re chasing dreams or grappling with the current difficulties we are facing in this current economic / political climate,” said Kore Rozzik. "This song is my personal take on the obsession with 'The Dollar' and what we’re willing to sacrifice to obtain it."

Coming off a whirlwind return to the Sunset Strip with three historic club shows last month, an EP release, and a 2025 Las Vegas residency announcement, legendary rockers MÖTLEY CRÜE confirmed today that they have raised $350,000 for Covenant House.
With the help of fans and partners, the band generated the funds through their new philanthropic endeavor, the Mötley Crüe Give Back Initiative — a moniker under which they will partner with different non-profit organizations near and dear to their hearts moving forward.
An exclusive charity dinner at the legendary Rainbow Bar & Grill in Los Angeles and a Charity Buzz/Definitive Authentic auction of ultra-rare collectible items from MÖTLEY CRÜE's sold-out "Höllywood Takeöver" helped the band to surpass their original donation goal of $250,000 by $100,000, directly supporting Covenant House — providing immediate and long-term support for young people facing homelessness and survivors of trafficking.
"MÖTLEY CRÜE has supported Covenant House for close to 20 years, quietly supporting young people in need for decades," Covenant House CEO Bill Bedrossian explains. "But this past month of concerts, auctions, and the charity dinner showed that Crüeheads all over the world care deeply about young people experiencing homelessness, too. The generosity shown by the band and their supporters will enable so many more young people to have the opportunity to be safe, supported, and to pursue their dreams. What an incredible legacy for the CRÜE!"
The members of MÖTLEY CRÜE added in a shared statement: "Every young person deserves a safe place to sleep and the opportunity to thrive. It's been an honor to support Covenant House in the fight to end youth homelessness. Thank you to all the Crüeheads who joined the fight and helped make this donation possible. We are humbled and inspired by all of you."
MÖTLEY CRÜE's debut Big Machine EP, "Cancelled", is out now on all platforms ahead of their 2025 Las Vegas residency at Dolby Live, March 28 - April 19. Watch the brand-new visualizer for MÖTLEY CRÜE's latest single, "Cancelled", out today via YouTube below.
The three-song "Cancelled" EP contains the title track, MÖTLEY CRÜE's cover version of the BEASTIE BOYS classic "(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party!)" and "Dogs Of War", which was made available in April. All three songs were recorded in April 2023 with longtime producer Bob Rock.
"It was really great getting in the studio and working on some tracks together," MÖTLEY CRÜE offered in a joint statement. "What started out as a couple demo ideas turned into this EP produced by Bob Rock. We look forward to getting back into the studio again soon and writing more new music, as well."
MÖTLEY CRÜE's version of "Fight For Your Right" has quickly become a fan favorite since the band first debuted the song live during their secret 2023 club show at The Underworld in London, U.K. At its premiere, 450 lucky, sweat-drenched fans who came out to see a band advertised as DÖGS OF WAR got the surprise of a lifetime when MÖTLEY CRÜE took the stage with the BEASTIE BOYS classic in their set list.
The veil of speculation surrounding the DÖGS OF WAR pseudonym was finally lifted when the band released their first new single since 2019 by the "Dogs Of War" name in the spring of 2024. "Dogs Of War" subsequently became a Top 5 Rock Radio hit, accompanied by a highly acclaimed music video by director Nick DenBoer. The cutting-edge visual, which is entirely CGI-based, features the members of MÖTLEY CRÜE navigating an exhilarating post-apocalyptic world.
"Cancelled" EP track listing:
01. Cancelled (Tommy Lee, Nikki Sixx, John Lowery)
02. Dogs Of War (Tommy Lee, Nikki Sixx, John Lowery)
03. Fight For Your Right (Adam Horovitz, Rick Rubin, Adam Yauch)
MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee told Bill Maher's "Club Random" podcast last year that he and his bandmates felt inspired to write a song called "Cancelled" because they were surprised it never happened to them.
"There was this article that was like, 'How did MÖTLEY CRÜE ever not get cancelled?'" he said. "And we were like, 'Fuck, we've gotta write a song about that because we didn't ever get it.' We snuck in under the whatever threshold, wherever that was, where we got away with fucking murder."
MÖTLEY CRÜE's deal with Big Machine sees the band and the label working together again after making the 2014 project "Nashville Outlaws: A Tribute To Mötley Crüe", which featured CRÜE tracks covered by country stars RASCAL FLATTS, FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE, Darius Rucker and more. Big Machine also partnered with MÖTLEY CRÜE's new guitarist John 5 for the release of his 2021 album "Sinner".
MÖTLEY CRÜE's last studio album was 2008's "Saints Of Los Angeles", which was followed by a 2009 "Greatest Hits" compilation.
In 2018, MÖTLEY CRÜE recorded four new songs for "The Dirt" movie, including the single "The Dirt (Est. 1981) (Feat. Machine Gun Kelly)", "Ride With The Devil", "Crash And Burn" and the band's own spin on Madonna's "Like A Virgin".
John 5 joined MÖTLEY CRÜE in the fall of 2022 as the replacement for the band's co-founding guitarist Mick Mars. Mick announced his retirement from touring with MÖTLEY CRÜE in October 2022 as a result of worsening health issues.
In a recent interview with Janne Innanfors of the Swedish radio station Rockklassiker, MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx stated about the mixed response to "Dogs Of War" from the band's fans: "We like the fact that there was kind of a knee-jerk reaction, because at least people were listening. It's a very strange time now where, whether it's a news cycle or socials, everybody has turned into a critic. And I always say, they've never erected a statue of a critic. It's never happened, right? It's always the artist. But now everybody's a critic. So within a short amount of time, we get, 'We love it.' 'We hate it.' 'You're over.' 'You've reinvented yourself.' 'It sounds like 'Shout At The Devil'. 'It sucks.' And we just kind of sit there and go, 'That's cool, guys, but we didn't really ask for any input from you.' We're just artists writing music, and we're pretty cool. I'm happy with it. I like it."
During an appearance on SiriusXM Fight Nation's "Busted Open" show, Sixx discussed the musical direction of "Dogs Of War", saying: "A lot of people said it's a different sound, but I'll be honest with you, I don't necessarily agree with that. If you listen to the verses, they're very similar to a lot of stuff that we've done — that simple, grinding thing with those almost CHEAP TRICK melodies. And the riff, I mean, it could be off of 'Dr. Feelgood'. So I don't really feel like it's that different. I think what's different for people is that when we were working on the song, Tommy [Lee, CRÜE drummer] had the idea to just let the bottom fall out in the verses, which is not really what we do. We usually go for it, and [it's] really unique for Vince [Neil, CRÜE singer]."
Vince chimed in: "I don't ever sing like that. But it works in the song." He added that "Dogs Of War" "was very easy to sing."
Nikki elaborated on the CRÜE songwriting process, saying: "I think what we do together is we all kind of know each other so well, we know each other's strengths and weaknesses. And for me as a lyricist, I'm always thinking about Vince and his tempo as I write. So it's not like out of the wheelhouse, but it's nice to know each other so well, if that makes sense."
When "Dogs Of War" was first released, Neil described the track as "like old school meets new school. It's got that old-school vibe about it, but it's new music. Nikki came up with it and he sent me the music and I thought it was really cool. So I started singing it and we got in the studio and it turned into the song I think the fans are really gonna like it."
Following the release of their latest studio album, Hail The Abyss (released in May 2023 via Napalm Records), blackened death metal frontrunners Thulcandra have announced their first-ever live album, celebrating the first chapter and early days of the band.
Live Demise was recorded live in 2011 at a hometown show in Munich, Germany, and features true gems that the band hasn't performed in more than a decade, all with the original lineup consisting of Sebastian Ludwig, Tobias Ludwig, Matthias Landes (Dark Fortress, Noneuclid) and Steffen Kummerer (Obscura, Death, Cynic).
Watch the Live Video for "Fallen Angel's Dominion" (Live) below:
Thulcandra’s rise to power ignited when the four-piece unleashed their debut album, Fallen Angel’s Dominion, upon metaldom in 2010. Followed by their 2011 masterpiece, Under a Frozen Sun, Live Demise contains brutal-as-hell classics from both records, like "Black Flags Of Hate", "In Blood And Fire" and "The Spirit Of The Night", aptly capturing the spirit and high-voltage energy of both the crowd and band. Ragers such as "Night Eternal" and "Fallen Angel's Dominion" perfectly showcase the band's raw and intense performances in their early days, and prove how Thulcandra has quickly stepped up as one of the leading bands of their genre.
Due to the pandemic, which was subsequently followed by their latest studio album, Hail The Abyss, Live Demise could not be released alongside Thulcandra's 20th anniversary as originally planned. Now, with mixing and mastering by Dan Swanö (Katatonia, Edge Of Sanity, Dissection) and cover artwork designed by Herbert Lochner, this very special release and retrospect of the first phase of the band will become available in only strictly limited editions exclusively via Napalm Records and at Thulcandra's upcoming live shows.
David Coverdale, the powerful voice behind Whitesnake and former Deep Purple frontman, sees his solo work shine brightly in a new collection featuring remixed, remastered, and revisited versions of his solo albums Whitesnake (1977), NorthWinds (1978), and Into The Light (2000).
Into The Light: The Solo Albums is available through Rhino Records as a 6CD boxed set. It comes packaged in a hardcover box featuring a 60-page book with rare photos, detailed liner notes, and a new interview with Coverdale. The newly remixed version of Into The Light is also available separately as a double vinyl album presented in a gatefold sleeve.
"Yours For The Asking" (Official Video 2024 Remix) below:
The boxed set features two versions of Coverdale’s solo albums: one newly remixed to deliver a more dynamic sonic experience and a second remastered from the original recordings for those who want to revisit the classic sound. The remixed versions feature significant updates (particularly to Whitesnake and NorthWinds) and utilize cutting-edge audio separation software. The track "Time & Again" from NorthWinds benefited from innovative voice extraction technology, allowing for new string and piano arrangements that Coverdale has envisioned for decades.
Coverdale shares, “The remixes are modern, using new technology to squeeze the best out of them… Truly exciting to revisit and take care of any technical ‘issues’ I had with the tracks all those years ago.”
Into The Light, Coverdale’s third solo album, boasts an impressive musical lineup that includes guitarists Earl Slick (David Bowie) and Doug Bossi, bassist Marco Mendoza (who later joined Whitesnake), legendary drummer Denny Carmassi (Montrose, Whitesnake), and keyboardist Mike Finningan (Jimi Hendrix). The remixed version of the album expands the original with songs like "Let’s Talk It Over" and "All The Time In The World". The collection also offers additional remixes, demos, and outtakes from the album, including "With All Of My Heart". Coverdale wrote the song for his wife and considers it one of the best he’s ever written.
The set also revisits NorthWinds, and Whitesnake Coverdale’s first two solo albums recorded immediately after leaving Deep Purple. Both albums have been reimagined and re-sequenced for the upcoming collection. NorthWinds includes some new arrangements and additional tracks like "Sweet Mistreater" and "Shame The Devil, Tell The Truth", breathing new life into this classic. Whitesnake features impossible remixes thanks to AI sound separation softwares, courtesy of technology that has only been available in the last couple of years.

This Friday, November 7th - exactly 30 years after the band was founded - the new album, DarkanakraD, by German melodic/celtic metallers Suidakra will be unleashed.
The album will be released as a CD and DigiPak; the latter is only available in the MDD Shop and selected mailorders. The 12” vinyl edition will be available on November 28th. In advance, the song "Unravelling Destinies" is available as an official video and as a digital single on all digital streaming platforms.
Original Journey bassist, Ross Valory, has released a video for "Touched, Pt. II", featured on his debut solo album, All Of The Above, available via OID Music. Watch the clip below.
Produced by Valory and co-produced by Eric Levy and Jacob Stowe, the nine tracks on the album represent the full maturity of Valory’s musical gifts, cutting a broad swath through the instrumental territory the music travels. He plays keyboards, guitar, and, of course, many basses in a display of cultivated virtuosity across a palette far broader than could be found in his work with Journey.
