Rob Zombie's new album, "The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser", will be released on April 29 via UMe/T-Boy Records. The CD was produced by Chris "Zeuss" Harris and features Zombie alongside guitarist John 5, bassist Piggy D and drummer Ginger Fish.

Rob Zombie spoke to Louder Noise about why he has held back the release of his new album even though the record was completed months ago. Zombie said: "It'll probably come out in [the spring], because what I wanna do is I wanna do a very large visual component to go with the record — shoot thirteen videos, or shoot a movie go with it. And because of [Zombie's upcoming sixth live-action feature film, a horror thriller called] '31', I couldn't get to that yet. So I'm gonna do that probably in January, so we'll put it out soon after that."

He continued: "I love it. I mean, I really like the record. The last record was my favorite record in a long time. 'Cause I had kind of hit a low with making records. It just kind of got boring; I hated being in the studio, and I kind of got reinspired on the last record. And this sort of follows up on it. So I think that, much like '31'… You just have those things in your career where you're, like, they all can't be the best one. With records, sometimes you have those moments where you can tell, 'This one's special.' And that's how it feels."

Zombie told Loudwire that the follow-up to 2013's "Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor" was recorded over the course of a year, with the band working for a few weeks, taking a break for a few months, then coming back. He said, "We were living with it for a long time, and it really — I think it made the record so much better."

Although Rob spends a lot of time making movies, he told The Pulse Of Radio a while back he's not ready to quit music yet. He said: "People go, 'How long can you do this, how long do you want to do this?' I want to do it as long as it's fun, because that's what it's supposed to be. I mean, I don't need the money, so I don't have to drag my ass out on tour just to make money. I'm all good there, so if it's not fun, it's nothing, it's just stupid, you know. And when you're not having fun, you're not gonna do good work. You're gonna seem like a miserable guy who's just doing it for the money, and I just never wanted to do that."

TREMONTI released its second album, "Cauterize", last June. "Cauterize" followed up TREMONTI's 2012 debut, "All I Was", and was the first of two new albums that TREMONTI recorded.

Mark Tremonti told The Pulse Of Radio that both "Dust" and "Cauterize" feature the same level of quality material. "We went in there with the goal of recording twenty songs, and then when it came time to release the songs, I didn't want to put thirteen songs on one record and then have seven B-sides," he said. "I wanted all these songs to be thought of as songs that were meant to be on an album. None of these are throwaway songs. So we cut 'em into two ten-song albums that are kind of two dynamic records. If there was two chill songs, one would go on the first, one would go on the second and so on."

Mark elaborated in a separate interview: "At first I just wanted to record as many songs as possible. But when I stepped back and listened to it, I was, like, 'You know what?! Let's make two records.' So I left some of my favorite songs on the second record, just so people aren't gonna buy the first record and then go, 'Okay, this is the good record and this is the bad one. These are the bad songs.' My brother Dan likes the second record better than the first record. Some of my favorite songs are on the second record. The title track, 'Dust', I think, has the best chorus of the whole recording process. 'Dust' has my favorite solo. The opening track, 'My Last Mistake', is one of my favorite songs. It's got the big ballad of the two records. It's definitely not the 'b-sides' of this album."

Although VAN HALEN bassist Wolfgang Van Halen was part of TREMONTI's touring band in 2013 and played on "Dust" and "Cauterize", he sat out TREMONTI's tour schedule because of commitments with VAN HALEN.

TREMONTI recruited Tanner Keegan to play bass on its most recent tour.

Currently on the road in Europe, Avantasia frontman Tobias Sammet recently announced they were filming the band's sold out March 16th show in Prague, Czech Republic for a DVD release. Sammet also issued the following update:

"Dates in München, Gießen and St. Goarshausen have been added to the tour! Due to public demand we have been confirmed for a few more summer dates, check the flyer below! DEVILDRIVER recently tapped former WAYNE STATIC guitarist Diego Ibarra (a.k.a. Ashes) to play bass on its upcoming tour, which kicks off at the end of next month.

Ibarra joins DEVILDRIVER as the replacement for former BURY YOUR DEAD guitarist Chris Towning, who appeared on the Dez Fafara-fronted band's 2013 album "Winter Kills".

DEVILDRIVER will be touring non-stop this year in support of its new album, "Trust No One". In addition to its already announced tour alongside HATEBREED, DEVIL YOU KNOW and ACT OF DEFIANCE, DEVILDRIVER has confirmed a string of North American headline dates. The first run starts prior to the HATEBREED tour and kicks off April 27 in Las Vegas, Nevada and wraps May 11 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Following the tour with HATEBREED that runs from May 13 in Cleveland, Ohio through June 11 in New Haven, Connecticut, DEVILDRIVER will have another string of headline shows starting July 13 in Columbus, Ohio and going through June 18 in San Diego, California.

Boecklin and Kendrick played their last show with DEVILDRIVER as part of the 2014 Knotfest in Devore, California.

"Winter Kills" sold around 11,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 32 on The Billboard 200 chart.

Zakk Wylde will release Book Of Shadows II on April 8th, via Entertainment One Music (eOne Music), his first solo release in 20 years. Deathcrown are the new, but very old-school, death metal outfit from Richmond, VA. The band includes veteran skins-basher Ryan Parrish (Iron Reagan, ex-Darkest Hour), and seasoned frontman Mikael Parks (former touring vocalist for Arsis), and is rounded out by a group of equally brutal dudes. Their sound is visceral to the original death metal scenes from both Stockholm, Sweden and Tampa, Florida, while retaining it's own originality and attitude.

These guys are not a group of young kids trying to imitate a long-lost sound. The men of Deathcrown are the genuine article. They were buying records like Entombed's Left Hand Path and Morbid Angel's Blessed Are The Sick at the time of their release. Their bands were opening for Grave and Dismember in the '90's. All they've done here is dig up their own filthy, rotting roots, in order to return to their love of brutal, simple, heavy death metal.

"We'll Sleep When They're Dead", the first official studio recording from DEAD CROSS, the new "punk" outfit featuring former SLAYER and PHILM drummer Dave Lombardo alongside members of THE LOCUST and RETOX, can be streamed using the SoundCloud widget below. The recording sessions was the song were helmed by producer Ross Robinson, who has previously worked with KORN, DEFTONES, SEPULTURA and LIMP BIZKIT, among others.

"This band provokes my aggression," Lombardo tells Rolling Stone. "We, Ross included, all have fearless musical mindsets. Our collective résumés definitely reflect that. I believe that when you have musicians in a room that share that particular attribute, it takes you to another level in every way. With this band, I play harder, I play faster, and I play with the fury that this music demands. Each member brings a great deal of intensity and skill to the table. It's invigorating to work with them."

Lombardo previously described DEAD CROSS's sound to Noisey as "just straightforward brutal punk— metal-esque, but it's definitely not metal. I think it definitely leans more towards the punk style, because I feel that the way things are in the world, a punk attitude is definitely necessary to help you along with the shit that's going on. There's no time to sing 'We Are the World' or all this bullshit, we're all pissed right now, and there's no better way to release anger than to be in a punk band and write punk music."

San Francisco Bay Are metallers DEATH ANGEL will release their new album, "The Evil Divide", on May 27. The CD was once again recorded at AudioHammer studios in Sanford, Florida with producer Jason Suecof (TRIVIUM, DEICIDE), who previously worked on 2010's "Relentless Retribution" and 2013's "The Dream Calls For Blood". Mastering duties were handled by Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound in New York City. The cover artwork was created by tattoo artist Bob Tyrrell and can be seen below.

DEATH ANGEL guitarist Rob Cavestany said: "Both Mark [Osegueda, vocals] and I had been tattooed by Bob, and when the subject of album artwork came up, we approached him to create the design. We wanted an image that would represent the idea of 'The Evil Divide'; something beautiful, yet simultaneously wicked, hence the death moth. Bob realized our vision with mere pencil and paper, and now we proudly present to you the cover art for our eighth studio album, 'The Evil Divide'."

Osegueda told SFWeekly.com about working with Suecof again: "It's the third time we've used him, and we couldn't really be happier."

He continued: "This time, all the music was written and lyrics were written with the exception of one song, which I purposely saved to write on the spot.

"Sometimes you can get a great vibe from a studio and draw inspiration from that. That song came out great."

Mark added: "It's got the aggressiveness of the last two records, but our songwriting has improved dramatically. Really, it sounds like DEATH ANGEL should."

Regarding DEATH ANGEL's mindset going into the songwriting process for the upcoming CD, Osegueda told Rock Hard magazine: "When we started working with Jason Suecof for the last two records, 'Relentless Retribution' and 'The Dream Calls For Blood', we thought we were gonna do two records intense like that and kind of go back [to the more] melodic [direction of 1990's] 'Act III', but the last two records, we've been loving so much writing that style, and the crowds have been enjoying them so much.

"In our minds, even if we think we're being more brutal than we've ever been, it's inevitable that we are obsessed with melody, so there's always gonna be melody that separates us from, say, different thrash bands or extreme bands, because we always veer to a melody and catchy hooks. No matter how brutal we think we're being, we like to throw in hooks, so we're just gonna carry on how we're doing now and try to pick as many of the young punters there and keep our stronghold on the old punters."

Regarding the "Under Attack" artwork, DESTRUCTION frontman Schmier said: "I had the vision of the exploding earth with the DESTRUCTION skull as continents before we even had the title.

"Never has the earth and every individual been so under attack: whether it’s environmental issues, wars or politics and media madness, we just destroy everything that we love!

"The cover brings together the classical concepts of the band’s history and fits in well with the discography… but, unfortunately, it also represents the current state of the world today!"

DESTRUCTION started recording "Under Attack" after the summer festivals last year and has been tracking segments in various studios between September 2015 and January 2016. So far they have completed the drum recordings with Martin Buchwalter at Gernhart Studios in Germany, and have done some other basic recordings, mixing and mastering with VO Pulver at Little Creek Studios in Switzerland.

Schmier stated about the making of "Under Attack": "We really took our time for this album. After the summer festivals, we went into the studio every couple of weeks to record brand new songs and ideas in between all the touring activities. We took several studio sessions instead of one long one, to keep the ideas fresh and have time later before the mix to change bits and pieces that we did not like. Maybe this was the most effective writing we did in the last years! Due the fact we had more time in between the albums, there was a lot of musical output and creativity, but also less pressure. From my point of view, you can definitely hear the crispiness in the songwriting and the kick-ass attitude we brought from the shows into the studio. The 'on tour into the studio on tour mode' was so effective that I wanna keep this method for the future!"

He added: "How does the new record sound? For sure not like a band that is in its 33 years of existence: Efficient aggression: FAST — CATCHY — ORIGINAL!" DESTRUCTION's 30th-anniversary album, "Spiritual Genocide", was released on November 23, 2012 via Nuclear Blast Records.

The animated clip was created by Costin Chioreanu of Twilight13Media (AT THE GATES, GRAVE, ARCTURUS), who was also responsible for the artwork for the band's new album, "Sunrise To Sundown".

Amott commented: "The release of our ninth studio album, 'Sunrise To Sundown', is imminent and we're celebrating with an animated video by our artist friend Costin Chioreanu for the song 'Dark Light Child'! I've had the music for this song a couple of years already, but we started jamming it again recently and everything fell into place when Per [Wiberg, keyboards] helped me finish it up with a great lyric and vocal arrangement."

The album's limited edition version is being released as a two-CD mediabook with a bonus disc including seven tracks (two covers versions and five live songs) and an expanded booklet. The LP format is on 180-gram vinyl and comes in gatefold packaging with a double-sided poster as well as the full standard album on CD as bonus.

After a busy couple of last years with ARCH ENEMY, Michael Amott and his bandmates have once again found the availability and inspiration to lay down eleven dynamic and uplifting new songs, which not only easily demonstrate how much on top of their game SPIRITUAL BEGGARS still are after over twenty years of activities, but also add a fresh and spontaneous vibe to their impressive catalogue. Speaking about how the new album came together, Amott said: "We've been writing the album here and there over the last couple of years when our schedules have allowed us to meet up and spend a few days jamming. A few of the songs I wrote on my own; others were written by our keyboard player Per Wiberg. Our drummer Ludwig Witt submitted two tracks that are actually his first major contributions to the band as a writer — and they're great songs too! I also co-wrote a few tunes with Per Wiberg and that was really a lot of fun as well, it's been a very collaborative process." In contrast to the often-soulless current high-tech digital cut-paste recordings, "Sunrise To Sundown" was tracked live off the floor. Amott said: "I'm super excited about how the album sounds sonically. Our engineer, Staffan Karlsson, also produced and mixed the album, and the result is something we're very proud of.

"I think every album we have made (this being our ninth) has had its own vibe and atmosphere. I can honestly say this band has never made the same album twice.

"To me, 'Sunrise To Sundown' is the next chapter of the book we've been writing since we started the band over twenty years ago. Of course, the foundation of our style is heavy rock music, but we always keep evolving adding new influences and colors to the bands core sound." Metallic hardcore quartet Akani is proud to announce the release of their debut full-length, Through My Darkest Infernal, due out in June via Demons Run Amok.

From its uniquely vibrant and impactful artwork, which broke every supposed rule in the black metal handbook with its vivid colours and refined aesthetic core, to the supremely confident and idiosyncratic songs and individual performances that heralded a newfound sophistication and a freshly incisive vision, Nemesis Divina almost single-handedly took black metal from its voluntarily shadowy and obscure origins into the glaring spotlight of the international metal scene. There are many classic albums to salute from the Norwegian scene of the early 90s and while the likes of Mayhem, Darkthrone, Emperor and Immortal undoubtedly share Satyricon’s esteemed position in the genre’s spectral hall of fame, it was arguably Nemesis Divina that most vigorously announced the arrival of this arcane musical phenomenon to the rest of the world, destroying the notion that black metal was an entirely self-contained and inward-looking subculture in the process. This album has a special place in our history. Suddenly we were selling 80,000 and then 100,000 records, and those numbers were unheard of in our small part of the world. Canadian blackened heavy metal act, Sig:Ar:Tyr, will see their new album, Northen, through their new deal with Hammerheart Records in April. The new track, “Crownless”, can be heard below.

Sig:Ar:Tyr is the brainchild of Daemonskald and started in 2003 releasing The Stranger demo. Influenced by the Pagan/Viking worlds of ice and snow, and as a tribute to the ancient gods, Daemonskald built his strong reputation step by step.

Through the years Daemonskald and Hammerheart Records stayed in touch, and after releasing three fantastic full length albums (too good to be left buried in the deep underground) both parties agreed that the time to start working together was now.

Daemonskald on this co-operation: "I'm very excited to be working with Hammerheart Records. They have a strong history in Pagan and Viking Metal, and I hope with the long-awaited release of my new album I can follow in that tradition. They were one of the first labels to reach out to me when I first started out way back in 2003, and now the stars are right for us to be working together and the circle is complete."

Daemonskald had the following to say about the album: "The album deals with the end of the Viking age, and the adventures of the Norse in our own country, Canada. Unlike the permanent settlements in Greenland, their stay here was short-lived, and we are still discovering the extent of their travels, the artifacts from their small settlements, and unfolding the tales of their interaction with the native cultures here at the time. Northen is a tale of tribute to this small group of adventurers, who with a dynamic, and individualistic spirit, were still willing to throw stability and comfort aside to explore mysterious new places like Helluland, Markland, and Vinland, and try to be their own master in a changing world."

Turin, Italy-based symphonic gothic metal band, Misteyes, have released an album trailer for their upcoming debut, Creeping Time, due out on April 8th via Canadian label Maple Metal Records.

Formed in 2012, the 7-member band describe themselves as “light and dark metal”. The special guests that appear on Creeping Time include Björn "Speed" Strid (Soilwork) with vocal parts on the track "Decapitated Rose", Nicole Ansperger (ex-Eluveitie) with violin on the track "Winter's Judgment", and Roberto Pasolini (Embryo) with backing vocals on the song "The Demon Of Fear".

The official music video for "Karate", a brand new song from the Japanese teenage girl pop metal band BABYMETAL, can be seen below (courtesy of the official BABYMETAL YouTube channel). The track is taken from the group's second album, "Metal Resistance", which will be released on April 1 via RAL/Sony Music Entertainment in the U.S. and earMUSIC in Europe.

Pre-orders of "Metal Resistance", with "Karate" as an instant grat track, are available on iTunes. "Metal Resistance" features songs that have already been performed live, as well as many never-been-heard-before new songs.

First heard at last year's Yokohama Arena shows, the infectiously hooky "Karate" sees the girls singing "Seiya, soiya," and is accompanied by a karate-style choreography. Following their previous album, "Metal Resistance" features both songs performed as solo songs, and as a group. "Amore -Aoboshi-" and "No Rain, No Rainbow" is performed by Suzuka Nakamoto (a.k.a. Su-Metal), and "GJ!" and "Sis. Anger" are performed by Yui Mizuno (a.k.a. Yuimetal) and Moa Kikuchi (a.k.a. Moametal). The U.K. version of "Metal Resistance" also sees the girls' first full-English song "The One", which had also been performed for the first time last year at Yokohama Arena. BABYMETAL will kick off the 2016 world tour with a headline show at the world-famous Wembley Arena, U.K. on Saturday, April 2, making history by becoming the first Japanese artist to headline the legendary venue.

Established in 2010, BABYMETAL is the offshoot of the Japanese pop idol group SAKURA GAKUIN that performs a distinctly Japanese mix of schoolgirl J-pop and heavy metal.

BABYMETAL's members admit that they had never listened to metal before joining the group. The girls wear gothy schoolgirl costumes, do choreographed dance routines and bang their heads violently.

Many heavy metal fans have been reluctant to embrace BABYMETAL — which also includes producer Kobametal and a backing band of corpse-painted virtuosos — with some Internet forums calling them "the definition of a gimmick", "awful" and "metal for hipsters."

Metal Wani's editor in chief Owais "Vitek" Nabi recently conducted an interview with vocalist Joakim Brodén of Swedish metallers SABATON. You can now listen to the chat in the YouTube clip below.

Asked about SABATON's plans to work on the follow-up to 2014's "Heroes" abum, Joakim said: "We start recording in a few weeks. Actually, most of the songs are written. We're still finalizing some of the last songs. It's always good in the end when the time comes and you start doubting yourself. You should have that self-hatred and doubt, because then you punch… do the final push into the studio. So the plan is to record in April and part into May, and then we're doing the festival summer [season]. Our hope is to have the album in late summer [or] early autumn."

Even though the bulk of the music for SABATON's forthcoming CD has already been composed, Joakim says that he likes having a couple of extra tracks to consider when deciding on the final running order. "I don't wanna write fifty songs and choose the best one, because that means you didn't care about every song as much as you needed to, but I also want one or two songs too many written for the album, so you can feel the rhythm of the album," he explained. "We'll record them all anyway, and then we'll remove stuff, so we get a nice rhythm of the album."

As for the musical direction of the new SABATON material, Joakim said: "It's a mix of [the familiar SABATON style and some new elements]. It's the hardest line to walk there is, because if you take too big of a step, you are disappointing yourself and the fans, I guess, and if you do not have the guts to take any step at all, you're also gonna disappoint yourself and the fans."

He continued: "We never set out to change in a specific direction. I mean, we always have some odd songs on some albums — let's say 'Cliffs Of Gallipoli', which is our SAVATAGE-meets-MEAT LOAF-meets SABATON piano thing. And I think it's cool, as long as it's within the realm of rock music. Some songs are a bit harder than normal; some songs are a bit softer than normal. We said, 'Instead of focusing on go harder or slower, let's focus on be better.' And better sometimes means harder. Better sometimes means softer."

SABATON released a special, three-disc limited-edition deluxe version of "Heroes" in the U.S. and Canada in April 2015 via Nuclear Blast. Limited to 5,000 copies, this deluxe edition includes two discs of live audio recorded on the 2014 Sabaton Cruise in addition to the original ten "Heroes" album tracks. Released on May 16, 2014 via Nuclear Blast Records, the "Heroes" cover artwork was created by Péter Sallai. A number of bonus tracks were made available, including cover versions of songs originally written and recorded by METALLICA, BATTLE BEAST and RAUBTIER.

"Heroes" was tracked at The Abyss, the recording studio in Pärlby outside Ludvika, Sweden owned and operated by record producer and musician Peter Tägtgren (HYPOCRISY, PAIN).

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE singer Jesse Leach has weighed in on the incident two months ago when ex-PANTERA singer Philip Anselmo made a "white power" gesture onstage at a concert.

Anselmo performed the PANTERA classic "Walk" at the January 22 "Dimebash" event at the Lucky Strike Live in Hollywood, California in honor of his former bandmate, late PANTERA guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott. As he left the stage, he made a Nazi-style salute. He appeared to say "white power" as he made the gesture, but he later claimed he was referring to drinking white wine as part of an "inside joke."

During an interview with Artisan News, Leach commented on the incident, saying (see video below): "It shouldn't rock the metal community; they should have known. The guy [Anselmo] has done this before. It's not a surprise. What's a surprise is backstepping. If that's what you are, and that's what you're all about, then so be it."

He continued: "To me, there's no place for that in music, but that's just my opinion. I think it's terrible. I wrote a lot of songs about actively fighting against racism.

"Every time I get this question, my answer is the [KILLSWITCH ENGAGE] song 'Hate By Design' [about prejudice and discrimination being passed on from generation to generation]. Just read the lyrics. There's your answer."

Leach went on to say that Anselmo's actions have not affected his opinion of PANTERA as a whole. He explained: "PANTERA is a legacy, absolutely. But, to me, PANTERA was a band; it wasn't just Phil. It's PANTERA. I'm not gonna hate PANTERA because of what one person did. But, you know, the way I think about it now, he dug his own grave, and good luck to him."

Several other notable musicians have come out and criticized Anselmo for his actions, including MACHINE HEAD frontman Robb Flynn, who uploaded an eleven-minute video response to the incident in which he called Anselmo a "big bully" and described Philip's behavior as "fucking wrong."

One musician who stuck up for Anselmo was Adam Crosier of the Arkansas band HYMNS, which is signed to Anselmo's Housecore label.

"This slanderous attack against Phil Anselmo in the metal media right now is reaching a despicable level of ugly, inept judgment," he wrote on his Facebook page. "There are no words that can accurately describe how false the racism claims truly are … I know, without a doubt, that Phil Anselmo is NOT racist. This accusation could not be further from the truth."

Crosier told BLABBERMOUTH.NET: "I think he has just made some mistakes in the past and obviously at the Dimebash — which, added together, may paint an ugly picture of his personality. It's very unfortunate, because he truly is a very compassionate and loving person."

The new album by The Dead Daisies is currently being mixed by producer Marti Frederiksen (Aerosmith, Buckcherry, Mötley Crüe) in Nashville, TN. The basic recordings were completed at the beginning of March with John Corabi finishing his vocals in the following weeks, and everyone’s extremely happy with the results. A release date and title have not yet been set, but we will let you know as soon as there is news.

As reported earlier, The Dead Daisies have been confirmed as “Special Guest” to Musikmesse Frankfurt, Europe’s biggest Music Trade Show. The band will perform on the Center Stage of the fairgrounds every day from April 7th to April 10th, as well as do acoustic sets, workshops and more. 

The band will also play a special club concert at Zoom Club as part of the city‘s Musikmesse Festival. Admission to the club gig is free with the Musikmesse Festival ticket, as long as supplies last. The Festival ticket can be purchased for 15€ at the door. Musikmesse visitors can obtain it for free at the information counters at the fair. 
 
These events mark the first public appearance of The Dead Daisies‘ revamped lineup featuring new guitarist Doug Aldrich as well as John Corabi, Marco Mendoza, Brian Tichy and David Lowy.

The "Dystopia" picture disc can be ordered individually at all participating retail and online outlets or at UMv as part of a specially priced pack with other picture disc titles including "Peace Sells…But Who's Buying?", "So Far, So Good…So What!", "Rust In Peace", "Countdown To Extinction" and "Youthanasia". "Dystopia" also logged the group's best sales week since 2007, when "United Abominations" landed at No. 8 with first-week sales of 54,000. "Dystopia" weaves together Dave Mustaine's intricate and unique songwriting style, trademark leads and lightning riffs with harmonious precision, paying homage to MEGADETH's influential roots while continuing to break new and heavy ground. Swedish metallers AVATAR have launched the first two tracks off their forthcoming concept album, "Feathers & Flesh", which is set for release on Friday, May 13 via Another Century in Europe and Entertainment One (eOne) in North America and Canada.
