London based metallers, Karybdis, release their sophomore album, Samsara, today, February 19th. A full album stream can be found below.

A press release states: “Modern metal needs new heroes. We believe we've written a very special album and now we need to make sure everyone hears it.”

NoiseArt Records has announced the signing of the German melodic death metal heroes, Nothgard.

Founded in late 2008 by singer and lead-guitarist Dom R. Crey, the band stands out due to technical guitars, epic orchestral elements and intoxicating live shows. With their two releases, Warhorns of Midgard (2011) and Age of Pandora (2014), Nothgard have already got a large following. Their blend of melodic death metal with the mentioned epic elements and further influences out of Neo-Classic and Folk have quickly made them a favorite with fans and critics alike.

Mastermind Dom R. Crey states: "Wow, what else should I say... Basically these kind of statements tend to be the same all the time... The band says "we are very happy bla bla”, but let me tell you something:  Of course this is more than great but even more important is the fact, that I really think this will push Nothgard to a higher step. Not only because the label consists of highly professional working people but further more because it simply fits to the band, that's it.

“We have been talking about the plans of both sides for a couple of months and we finally decided that this is the best possible decision we can make. BraveWords is teaming up with Montreal’s Demise Of The Crown for the premier of their second single “Human Denial” from their upcoming self-titled debut album produced by Kevin Jardine (Uplift Studios, guitarist of Slaves On Dope) and mastered by Joao Carvalho (Protest The Hero, Alexisonfire, Rush). The album is due out on March 4th (preorder here) and features this Canadian power metal band's strong melodic death metal and hard rock influences fused with epic choruses, classic high ranged vocals plus explosive guitar solos that are reminiscent of Eddie Van Halen with undertones of Yngwie Malmsteen sure to leave fans humming.

"This track ‘Human Denial’ is one of the heavier songs on the album. The Limp Bizkit inspired intro riff was something I've been noodling around with, but never thought we would use, the rest of the song just unfolded from there. The lyrics have a lot of metaphors that hint at topics about revenge, torture, abuse and inhumanity. At the end there is a massive breakdown tempo change inspired by Pantera's ‘This Love’ and the guitar solo has a few country southern influences reminiscent of Dimebag" comments guitarist Manuel Iradian.

Greek melodic metallers, InnerWish, will release their new album, entitled InnerWish, on March 18th in Europe and North America via Ulterium Records. The album will be available on CD, LP, tape and digital. Bickee Music will issue the album in Japan on March 30th.  A new lyric video for the album track “Needles In My Mind” can be found below.

The album was mixed by Fredrik Nordström and Henrik Udd at Studio Fredman (In Flames, Dimmu Borgir, Hammerfall) and mastered by Peter In De Betou (Arch Enemy, Opeth, Amon Amarth).

The artwork for the album was created by Felipe Machado Franco (Blind Guardian, Rhapsody Of Fire, Xandria) and the design was done by Jan Yrlund (Korpiklaani, Apocalyptica, Manowar).

The band comments on the new album: "This is the first album with our new lineup, and we hope this lineup will be unchanged for many years since we now feel stronger, more confident and sure about ourselves than ever before. Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame president and CEO Joel Peresman has denied that former DEEP PURPLE guitarist Ritchie Blackmore has been "banned" from attending the band's Rock Hall induction ceremony, insisting that Ritchie "is invited to come enjoy the evening and accept the award."

Blackmore claimed in a statement on his Facebook page that DEEP PURPLE's current manager has asked for the guitarist to be excluded from the ceremony in April. The statement read in part: "Ritchie was discussing the possibility of attending, until we received correspondence from the president of the Hall Of Fame, who said that Bruce Payne, management for the current DEEP PURPLE touring band, had said 'No.' Therefore Ritchie will not be attending the ceremony."

But in a new interview with RollingStone.com, Peresman explained that Payne is not in a position to prevent any inductee from attending the event. He said: "There is no way he is banned from the ceremony. That notion we would ever do that is patently untrue. We've never banned any inductee. He is invited to come enjoy the evening and accept the award."

Peresman also said that he reached out to managers for the current lineup of DEEP PURPLE and Blackmore to try and facilitate a one-off reunion at the ceremony. "DEEP PURPLE's manager Bruce Payne told me they were unwilling to perform with Ritchie," he said. "We've had many situations like this in the past and many times these things get worked out for one night, and then they go back to their neutral corners the next day."

Peresman relayed the band's position to Carole Stevens, who manages Blackmore. "I said to her, 'Maybe you can take the high road and reach out to them and see if something can be worked out as far as the performance goes,'" he said. "We would love to have them all play together. We always want to do that. We always want to see the actual inductees that haven't performed together in a long time, if they have the opportunity to come together for at least one night, to do that. We'd like to see it as an organization, and I'm sure fans would like to see it too."

The DEEP PURPLE members that are being inducted are: Ritchie Blackmore, David Coverdale, Rod Evans, Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Glenn Hughes, Jon Lord and Ian Paice.

This year's Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony will take place on April 8 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

HBO will air this year's ceremony on April 30.

DEEP PURPLE singer Ian Gillan has defended the band's decision to only perform with the group's current lineup at the upcoming Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction, explaining that "there is no slight intended nor any desire to upset anyone" with this move.

The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony seemed like a rare opportunity for DEEP PURPLE to reunite with its founding guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, who wrote many of the band's most memorable riffs, including "Smoke on the Water", but hasn't played with the group since 1993.

Now Gillan has confirmed that no such reunion will take place, saying that only "the living breathing DEEP PURPLE" will play at the event, which will take place on April 8 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Said Gillan in a statement: "We were faced with a hard decision when we heard about the Hall Of Fame inductions. It was a surprise to us that [current DEEP PURPLE guitarist] Steve Morse and [current DEEP PURPLE keyboardist] Don Airey did not qualify as inductees.

"Ian Gillan, Ian Paice and Roger Glover decided upon the offer of a compromise which has been agreed with the Hall Of Fame and enables us to turn up on the night.

"DEEP PURPLE inductees will accept the awards and then the living breathing DEEP PURPLE will perform.

"It should be stressed that there is no slight intended nor any desire to upset anyone regarding this decision; it is purely a mark of respect to Steve and Don.

"I spoke with David Coverdale last week and he expressed complete understanding of the way it was being handled. Thanks, David. You're a gent.

"Outside of this event, there are no circumstances under which a 'reunion' could or would take place.

"So, let's all get up there, shake hands, smile for the cameras and get it done with dignity and respect for all the existing and past members of a very special family."

The DEEP PURPLE members that are being inducted are: Ritchie Blackmore, David Coverdale, Rod Evans, Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Glenn Hughes, Jon Lord and Ian Paice.

According to The Pulse Of Radio, BRING ME THE HORIZON singer Oli Sykes toppled COLDPLAY's dinner table during his band's performance at the NME Awards in London on Wednesday night (February 17). In footage filmed by fans, Sykes can be seen descending from a balcony area directly toward COLDPLAY's table then jumping onto it and eventually knocking it over.

The members of COLDPLAY don't even see Sykes coming at first, but then the singer uses COLDPLAY frontman Chris Martin as a support to boost himself onto the table. He then stomps onto its centerpiece and rocks back and forth until the table falls over, sending a lavish assortment of booze crashing to the floor as well.

Some fans saw the incident as Sykes attacking COLDPLAY after he said late last year that the cover of the new COLDPLAY album, "A Head Full Of Dreams", was too close for comfort to that of BRING ME THE HORIZON's 2013 effort, "Sempiternal".

But Sykes denied that, explaining later: "I had no sound in my ears so I thought 'Well, there might be sound out there.' There weren't sound out there, so when I came back there was a table, which I got on. There wasn't any sound on there, but it was a bit more energetic up there. It was in no way a protest against COLDPLAY."

Chris Martin told NME that he never heard of BRING ME THE HORIZON before, but said the incident "was great — very rock 'n' roll."

BRING ME THE HORIZON took home the NME Innovation Award at the ceremony and performed the track "Happy Song" from the band's latest album, "That's The Spirit".

Greek thrashers SUICIDAL ANGELS will release their new album, "Division Of Blood", on May 27 via NoiseArt Records. The follow-up 2014's "Divide And Conquer" was recorded at Soundlodge studios in Germany with producer Jörg Uken. TREMONTI released its second album, "Cauterize", last June. "Cauterize" followed up TREMONTI's 2012 debut, "All I Was", and was the first of two new albums that TREMONTI recorded.

Mark Tremonti told The Pulse Of Radio that both "Dust" and "Cauterize" feature the same level of quality material. "We went in there with the goal of recording twenty songs, and then when it came time to release the songs, I didn't want to put thirteen songs on one record and then have seven B-sides," he said. "I wanted all these songs to be thought of as songs that were meant to be on an album. None of these are throwaway songs. So we cut 'em into two ten-song albums that are kind of two dynamic records. If there was two chill songs, one would go on the first, one would go on the second and so on."

Mark elaborated in a separate interview: "At first I just wanted to record as many songs as possible. But when I stepped back and listened to it, I was, like, 'You know what?! Let's make two records.' So I left some of my favorite songs on the second record, just so people aren't gonna buy the first record and then go, 'Okay, this is the good record and this is the bad one. These are the bad songs.' My brother Dan likes the second record better than the first record. Some of my favorite songs are on the second record. The title track, 'Dust', I think, has the best chorus of the whole recording process. 'Dust' has my favorite solo. The opening track, 'My Last Mistake', is one of my favorite songs. It's got the big ballad of the two records. It's definitely not the 'b-sides' of this album."

Although VAN HALEN bassist Wolfgang Van Halen was part of TREMONTI's touring band in 2013 and played on "Dust" and "Cauterize", he sat out TREMONTI's tour schedule because of commitments with VAN HALEN.

TREMONTI recruited Tanner Keegan to play bass on its most recent tour.

Established in 2010, BABYMETAL is the offshoot of the Japanese pop idol group SAKURA GAKUIN that performs a distinctly Japanese mix of schoolgirl J-pop and heavy metal.

BABYMETAL's members — Suzuka Nakamoto (a.k.a. Su-Metal, who handles vocals and dancing), Yui Mizuno (a.k.a. Yuimetal) and Moa Kikuchi (a.k.a. Moametal), the latter of whom both scream and dance — admit that they had never listened to metal before joining the group. The girls wear gothy schoolgirl costumes, do choreographed dance routines and bang their heads violently.

Many heavy metal fans have been reluctant to embrace BABYMETAL — which also includes producer Kobametal and a backing band of corpse-painted virtuosos — with some Internet forums calling them "the definition of a gimmick", "awful" and "metal for hipsters."

Former ACCEPT and current U.D.O. singer Udo Dirkschneider has just embarked on a special tour during which he is performing ACCEPT songs one last time before he closes the chapter for good.

Fan-filmed video footage of the tour kick-off — which took place last night (Thursday, February 18) at Union Scene in Drammen, Norway — can be seen below.

Asked about his decision to perform classic songs from ACCEPT for the last time in 2016 under the DIRKSCHNEIDER banner, Udo told rock journalist Mitch Lafon: "A lot of people ask me, 'Why do you do this?' And I said… Always people are asking, 'Oh, can you play this ACCEPT song and this ACCEPT song and this ACCEPT song?' I mean, I have fifteen U.D.O. albums out, and, for me now, U.D.O. is U.D.O. Of course, I know that the people like to hear ACCEPT songs with my voice, but I wanna close something — I wanna close, like a book, and say, 'Okay, that's it. I read it.' Sometimes you have to come to an end with something. I wanna close up everything with ACCEPT. And this will be the last time. And I said, okay, I'll do one more tour. It will be a world tour. Hopefully we can do this also for America, around maybe a couple of shows. And yeah, that will be the last time that you… When we are on tour with U.D.O., we'll never play any ACCEPT songs again."

He continued: "I also wanna stop to be compared with… Now ACCEPT is still on tour, and they have a new singer, and they are doing also 'Balls To The Wall' and they are doing also 'Metal Heart', they do 'Princess Of The Dawn'. And I don't wanna be always compared and have to say, 'What do you think about this and this and this?' This is also another reason. I wanna close the ACCEPT chapter. I mean, it was a great… I mean, in a way, I was creating this band, you know. Sometimes you have to say, 'Okay, that's it.' I have enough U.D.O. songs, so I can play more U.D.O. songs and be U.D.O. I can say without being arrogant, U.D.O. has its own fan base now. Sometimes you have to say, 'Okay, that's it.'"

Udo went on to say: "There is a band called ACCEPT. And please, if you wanna hear these songs, please go then to [see] ACCEPT. [Laughs] So that's the only thing I can say. Now you'll have the chance next year to hear it with the original voice, but Mark [Tornillo, current ACCEPT singer] is doing a — I would say — really good job on it, so please go there and listen then to ACCEPT and U.D.O. is then U.D.O."

Regarding what makes the classic ACCEPT songs so special, Udo said: "I don't know what is special. You never can tell it, really. Like [DEEP PURPLE's] 'Smoke On The Water', in a way, something like this. Sometimes there's a song that, in a way, that stays forever."

Asked about the possibility of the DIRKSCHNEIDER tour being professionally filmed and recorded for an upcoming DVD and CD, Udo said: "Yeah, I think. Normally the record company says, Oh, you put out so [much] stuff. We have to suffer.' But I think definitely I can say there will be a live CD out. Definitely. I mean, you have to do this. It will never happen again like this. And I think you have to put this on a CD. What was very interesting [was that] the record company came up with this. They said, 'We have to do this.' And I said, 'Yes, I know.' [Laughs]"

SPIRITUAL BEGGARS — the Swedish band featuring ARCH ENEMY guitarist Michael Amott and bassist Sharlee D'Angelo, along with vocalist Apollo Papathanasio (ex-FIREWIND) — will release its ninth studio album, titled "Sunrise To Sundown", on March 18 in Europe and March 25 in North America via InsideOut Music. After a busy couple of last years with ARCH ENEMY, Michael Amott and his bandmates have once again found the availability and inspiration to lay down eleven dynamic and uplifting new songs, which not only easily demonstrate how much on top of their game SPIRITUAL BEGGARS still are after over twenty years of activities, but also add a fresh and spontaneous vibe to their impressive catalogue. Speaking about how the new album came together, Amott said: "We've been writing the album here and there over the last couple of years when our schedules have allowed us to meet up and spend a few days jamming. A few of the songs I wrote on my own; others were written by our keyboard player Per Wiberg. Our drummer Ludwig Witt submitted two tracks that are actually his first major contributions to the band as a writer — and they're great songs too! Austrian folk metal band, Drescher, recently signed a deal with Napalm Records.

Drescher are already widely known for creating something really extraordinary. A new kind of music, a new style, a new experience: Folk music in its most original way, real and honest. "Cut Me Loose", the new video from Massachusetts-based metallers KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's seventh album, "Incarnate", which will be released on March 11 via Roadrunner.

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE frontman Jesse Leach stated about the track: "This song is about finding wisdom and understanding through suffering. Oftentimes we don't realize how far we have come until we reflect back on the past. The past is a story we tell ourselves and often times that story can be difficult to recount. The burdens we carry, whether it be past mistakes or regrets, can act as a noose inhibiting our growth and progression. There comes a time when we must release the bondage of our burdens and making peace with the demons and darkness of the past. Setting the albatross of regret free and moving on in life, if you will."

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE guitarist and producer Adam Dutkiewicz recently told Revolver magazine that Leach "hit a wall with ideas" during the songwriting process for "Incarnate" after completing the first three or four songs in the studio. "He couldn't find lyrics he was really stoked on," Adam explained. "But Jesse's a great lyricist and a great songwriter, so I just told him, 'Keep writing, and when you hit on something that inspires you, bring it to me.'"

Leach, for his part, admitted that he struggled for a bit. "It did take me a little longer," he said. "But we're at this stage now with our band where we can't be phoning it in. If you really care about your music and you care about your career and your fans, you've gotta give 'em everything you've got. And so I came to a point where this album literally drove me crazy. My wife can attest to that. There were a good couple of weeks where I wasn't myself. I just got lost in the process, because I wanted this record to be everything it could be. I was losing sleep, not sleeping at all, and waking up in the middle of the night and sitting down and writing pages and pages and pages of words. By the time all was said and done, I probably had 80 pages of lyrics. I just wanted to give it everything I could, vocally and lyrically."

Leach told Revolver about the "Incarnate" title: "The definition of incarnate is 'in the flesh.' And this record is who we are right now. Whereas [2013's] 'Disarm The Descent' was sort of my 'comeback' album, and was about us feeling out the new vibe. But now, after spending a few years traveling the world together, I think we're all in a really comfortable place. We definitely have a strong sense of self as to who we are as a band

The band will embark on a North American headline tour shortly after the new album's release. They will be joined by MEMPHIS MAY FIRE and 36 CRAZYFISTS for the trek, which runs from March 16 in San Antonio, Texas to April 24 near Charleston, South Carolina.

German rockers Double Crush Syndrome, fronted by former Sodom / Powergod guitarist Andy Brings, have released an official video for their song "Gimme Everything", a live favourite that's due to appear on their forthcoming album, Still No Future. Check it out below.

Chicago's progressive metal masterminds Dissona meld a dynamic range of musical styles, developing an incredibly moving, diverse sound.  Their new album Paleopneumatic is out now.    

During the recording process the band set up a Pledge Music Campaign, where the highest backers could request a cover song recorded by Dissona. For the first cover song, the band was requested to do Johnny Cash's "Ring Of Fire". The exclusive cover can now be heard via the YouTube clip below.

While "Ring Of Fire" does not appear on Paleopneumatic, it is the band's most ambitious release to date, epitomizing Dissona's endeavors to date. It brings the listener on an existential, cohesive journey with gripping melodies, expertly-crafted arrangements, and impassioned vocals.

Since Dissona's inception, they have approached writing music to always be experienced as an album, a package of disparate influences and moods meant to achieve a unified whole.  This melting pot of influences has gradually coalesced since the writing of their earliest material, through the defining Dissona album, and now into its most complete form with Paleopneumatic.

Moravia, NY-based death metallers, NilExistence, will release their debut album, Existence In Revelation, on March 25th. The album includes a 12-page booklet with artwork by Seth Siro Anton (Septicflesh), and was mixed/mastered at Hertz Studio (Behemoth, Decapitated, Vader) by the Wiesławski brothers in Poland. Drummer/vocalist Kyle Kratzer (ex-Disfigured Dead) had this to say about the album title and lyrical content: "Existence In Revelation is based on the life experiences that have affected Dave Gruver (guitar/vocals) and myself during the writing period. The idea behind the title comes from how I personally felt when in the midst of a darker period. When one finds himself in a "revelation" type state, they have a few choices in which to handle the new information or realization they discovered; they may take the newly acquired knowledge and expand upon their problem/life, take nothing from the experience and brush it off, or stay stuck in the revelation itself (which is the route explored on the album.) As if in a bubble, one neither acts nor fails to act upon the new knowlegde, but instead remains within the revelation (bubble). The lyrics are based upon what I saw and learned within this revelation."

Ritchie Blackmore says that he has been prevented from attending DEEP PURPLE's Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction by the band's manager.

In a statement, the PURPLE co-founder claims that Bruce Payne has asked for the guitarist to be excluded from the ceremony in April.

Blackmore writes in a post on his Facebook page: "Ritchie was honored by the offer of induction to the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. He was discussing the possibility of attending, until we received correspondence from the president of the Hall Of Fame, who said that Bruce Payne, management for the current DEEP PURPLE touring band, had said 'No.' Therefore Ritchie will not be attending the ceremony. He sincerely thanks all the fans that voted for him for their support."

The DEEP PURPLE members that are being inducted are: Ritchie Blackmore, David Coverdale, Rod Evans, Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Glenn Hughes, Jon Lord and Ian Paice.

Paice recently said that any decision regarding a possible performance at the induction ceremony will have to be made with the blessings of all the current members. "We don't have salaried guys with [keyboardist] Don [Airey] and [guitarist] Steve [Morse]. They are fully accredited members of the band and they share in everything, and into decisions as well. They will have to be consulted and see how they feel about anything that the three of us originals think we would or wouldn't like to do."

This year's Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony will take place on April 8 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

HBO will air this year's ceremony on a soon-to-be-announced date in late April.

Streaming below is rare footage of Ritchie Blackmore with Rainbow at Castle Donington in 1980. It was a massive moment for the band, but incredibly turned out to be Cozy Powell and Graham Bonnet's final performances with Rainbow.

Rainbow will be back to the stages of rock in 2016. Two shows in Germany are confirmed, taking place at the Monsters Of Rock Festival 2016 on June 18th and Loreley, Freilichtbühneon on June 17th. A UK date has also been confirmed. It will take place on Saturday, June 25th at Genting Arena in Birmingham, England.

Blackmore has revealed his band lineup for these exclusive shows, which will include singer Ronnie Romero, keyboardist Jens Johansson (Stratovarius), drummer David Keith (Blackmore’s Night) and bassist Bob Nouveau. The first official band photo can be viewed below:

“I’m now 70, so I just felt like playing some rock ‘n’ roll for a few days. We’re going to do four or five dates of just playing the old rock stuff, Purple stuff and Rainbow. I’m doing it for the fans, for nostalgia, and the singer I found is very exciting; he’s a cross between Dio meets Freddie Mercury. So this will mean exposing a new singer to the masses, and I’m sure he’ll become pretty famous because of his voice.”

Seattle-based progressive/death metal band, Rhine, has premiered the music video for “P.R.E.Y.”, a track off their new album, An Outsider, released on February 5th. The clip can be found below.

The Defiants will release their self-titled debut album on April 15th. The Defiants is a new band put together by Paul Laine, Bruno Ravel and Rob Marcello - three fabulous musicians, all with ties to the great hard rock band Danger Danger.

Best known for being Danger Danger's frontman for a 12 year stint from 1992-2004, which included four studio albums, Paul Laine is now coming back to work with his former bandmates Bruno Ravel and Rob Marcello, who are the other two pillars of The Defiants.

The guys got back together under suggestion of Frontiers' President, Serafino Perugino, who really wanted to offer the fans a chance to hear some new music from these guys. The resulting album is an extremely exciting affair which is going to please not only D2 fans, but also all the ones who are into the classic sound from the glory days of rock in the '80s and '90s.

Paul Laine says: "From the moment Bruno and I started writing together,we knew we had something special. It's been my experience that when the writing process is effortless, you've trapped lightning in a bottle...within the first 2 1/2 months, we had close to 40 ideas up on the board. I think it surprised both of us how intuitive we were of each others ideas. I'm very proud of this record, and it feels good to let loose on an album of complete stadium rockers. Rob Marcello, I consider to be one of the biggest talents in the world of modern guitar players. I love how much he shines on this record, and from track to track, I couldn't wait to hear what he had to say musically. On a personal note, it feels good to hit another musical and writing milestone with this album. It was very hard to choose the material for this record,and its exciting to know that there are still bullets left in the chamber that nobody has heard yet..."
