Long Island’s TRACE YOUR STEPS Premier “Animal (Creature Of Habit)” Music VideoLong Island, New York’s Trace Your Steps has released a music video for their track "Animal (Creature Of Habit)”, from their upcoming album Beating Hearts And Uncertainty, which is due out this spring.
The video was directed by Anthony Lopardo at Slate Media while the song was produced by Ian Schneider & Andover Studios, and mixed and mastered by Westfall Studios. Watch the new video below.
“We really wanted to take our time with this release and put everything we had into it. After parting ways with our former drummer, we decided that while we searched for a replacement we would make sure that this song was the best it could possibly be. "Animal" is the collaborative effort of everyone in this band, and we felt it captured everything we try to portray in our music, ranging from the chorus to the breakdown. We incorporate a lot of different elements into what we create and we thought this track really showed who we are as a band from every angle.” - Ian Schneider (Guitar)

It's Official: Reunited GUNS N' ROSES To Play This Year's COACHELLAThe much-speculated reunion of GUNS N' ROSES — featuring singer Axl Rose, guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan — has been officially confirmed for this year's Coachella Music And Arts Festival. The festival will take place over two weekends, April 15-17 and April 22-24, at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.
GUNS N' ROSES will play two concerts at Coachella: on April 16 and April 23.
McKagan and Slash have both shared the same Coachella announcement image — featuring the GUNS N' ROSES bullet logo against a desert backdrop — on their Facebook pages.
"It's a huge get for Paul Tollett and the Coachella team," Dave Brooks, founder and executive editor of Amplify, an online magazine about the concert industry, told The Press-Enterprise. "It's the biggest reunion since RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE."
Also scheduled for Coachella Music And Arts Festival is the return of LCD SOUNDSYSTEM as well as OF MONSTERS AND MEN, FOALS, HALSEY, JAMES BAY, RANCID, M83, and more.
Tickets go on sale Wednesday, January 6 at 11:00 a.m. via Coachella.com.
According to U.S. music industry magazine Billboard, GUNS N' ROSES is also currently in negotiations to do a 25-date football stadium tour in North America next summer for which they're asking $3 million per show. The most expensive tickets for the shows are slated to sell for between $250 and $275.
Rose and Slash will be featured in the lineup, with bassist Duff McKagan also involved. There is no word on whether original guitarist Izzy Stradlin or drummer Steven Adler will appear. Consequence Of Sound says that Adler's original replacement, Matt Sorum, is also on board, while other reports have suggested that current drummer Frank Ferrer and guitarist Richard Fortus will round out the lineup.
Speculation about a reunion tour has been steady ever since Slash revealed last summer that he and Axl had repaired their friendship after being estranged for nearly 20 years.
The last show Axl and Slash played together was on July 17, 1993 at River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires. The latest incarnation of GUNS N' ROSES, which only included Axl from the original lineup, played a residency in Las Vegas in 2014 but has remained silent since. 13

PAUL DI'ANNO 'Had More Opportunities In The Music Business Than Just About Anybody Else,' Says Former Bandmate SID FALCKDrummer Sid Falck has slammed his former bandmate Paul Di'Anno, explaining that the ex-IRON MAIDEN singer has "had more opportunities in the music business than just about anybody else" to return to his former glories.
Falck played in Di'Anno's BATTLEZONE for around three years in the mid-1980s before leaving the band and joining OVERKILL. He exited the latter group in 1992 and disappeared from the music business for more than twenty years until two years ago, when he announced the formation of a new "power groove metal" project called INFECTUS 13.
Asked during an appearance on a recent edition of the "Thunder Underground" podcast if Di'Anno was as self-destructive back in the 1980s as the press made him out to seem, Falck said: "Paul is, and was, one of the most unique voices in the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, and probably just metal in general. He was not high pitched, he was kind of lower register. Back then, if you even could take away the music part of it, which obviously gave away completely who you were listening to, but if you only had the vocals, you would still know, 'This is IRON MAIDEN.' 'Cause it was very unique and different. That's Paul.
"In my opinion, he could have gone anywhere he wanted — literally. He could have even passed MAIDEN. He could have done anything he wanted if he had done it for the right reasons. [After] the whole MAIDEN thing, the first thing he did was the band DI'ANNO, which was just called DI'ANNO, and it was like fucking listening to JOURNEY. It's very, very JOURNEY, it's like AOR, it's very commercial — trying to be.
"Paul's voice is not for fucking JOURNEY, all right? It does not fit. But that was what he wanted because he was very impulsive."
He continued: "I played with Paul from '84 to '87. I left after a U.S. tour in '87. He was very self-destructive. It was nuts — I mean, from start to finish. And he wasn't the only one; he's just the one that had the bigger name, obviously. And I haven't talked to Paul since '87. I read some of the shit he said, and I'm not gonna touch it. And I was not very nice after I left. When I first joined OVERKILL, some of the first interviews, obviously, had a lot of questions for me about Di'Anno, because it was fucking Paul Di'Anno. And I wasn't nice. I didn't leave on good terms. In retrospect, was that the right thing [to do]? Probably not. First of all, you left, so who gives a fuck? Why even talk about it. But you say shit, he [said] shit.
"I think [Paul has] had more opportunities in the music business than just about anybody else to get back on what he could have done. I think he's had more chances. Why, I don't know. I mean, how many projects and bands has he been involved with since BATTLEZONE that have gotten so much attention? And yet every single one of them went down the same road. How many people do you know that get that many chances, especially in a business where, like David Lee Roth said, 'Here today, gone later today.' I mean, I don't know anybody that has gotten that many shots of getting right. So he was very self-destructive, but he wasn't the only one in BATTLEZONE — trust me. But he was the one that got all the attention, because he was a name; the rest of us [weren't]. "I don't know what he's like today; I have no idea. From what I'm seeing, when I do see shit [online], I don't know that he's changed. I hope he has. I mean, like anybody else, he's a human. We all have different ways of being human, I guess, is the easiest way to say it. Whatever he's choosing, I'm hoping it works for him. And I hope he's cool with it. I mean, I stopped drinking and doing drugs 23 years ago. I haven't done anything since August 22, 1992. This is it: coffee and cigarettes. That's it. Seriously. From what I understand, he's still not gotten to that point, and that's his prerogative not to get to that point. I quit for me. I quit because I had to. It was just not right anymore. It was out of control. Had I not quit, I would have been dead."
Falck went on to say: "I don't know what he's like now. Back then, [in] the '80s, yeah, he was very self-destructive. He caused a lot of his own problems by not knowing when to stop. But I can't look down on it, because I was worse. I mean, I knew when to stop and chose not to. I was smart enough to know, 'Dude, you're on the wrong path, son. You're gonna really fuck up soon.' But I didn't give a fuck. I don't know if his thought process worked that way. But he was definitely indulgent. And whatever he indulged in was always available.
"He's a huge talent. And it's one of those things where you just go… You wish you could go up to somebody and grab him by the shoulders and just shake [him] and say, 'What the fuck? You have what few others have, and look what you fucking did with it? You wanna fucking go out and do cover songs of your own shit from thirty years ago?' That's what they did. Him and [fellow former IRON MAIDEN singer] Blaze Bayley. Are you kidding me? You have to go on the road on a joint fucking tour, to do covers of the fucking bands you used to be in? Really? I'd rather play athe Holiday fucking Inn, doing fucking SEETHER songs, or fucking NICKELBACK, because that's not nearly as demeaning, to me. I'm sure the money was right. But really? Why didn't you take that talent and fucking create shit other people had to go on tour to cover, 'cause you had to tools. Were you that afraid of fucking succeeding. Because every time you got a new chance, you fucked it up. I'm not gonna say 'you fucked it up,' but every time he got a new chance, he didn't… It almost seemed like he didn't take it serious."
Di'Anno recorded two classic albums with IRON MAIDEN before being fired and replaced by Bruce Dickinson. He went on to front a number of other bands, including KILLERS and BATTLEZONE, and released several solo records. 56

DIAMOND HEAD To Release New, Self-Titled Album In MarchInfluential and iconic heavy metal band DIAMOND HEAD will release its first album of new material in eight years on March 11. Titled "Diamond Head", the disc features an exciting new talent in singer Rasmus Bom Andersen.
In 2014, DIAMOND HEAD invited London-based, Danish-born Ras to join the band. Together they completed a European tour, which included appearances at Hard Rock Hell and Headbangers Open Air in Germany. The spark of creativity led the band to start working on the new album in January 2015.
Brian Tatler, founder of DIAMOND HEAD, said: "When we began talking with Ras about making a new record, he said we should write the songs as a band just like DIAMOND HEAD did at the beginning of our career. There’s no substitute for writing together in the same room. We spark each other off and create something far bigger than we could have done individually."
Brian continued: "Ras has certainly renewed the energy within the band. I had no interest in doing another record, but after working with Ras on the European tour, that all suddenly changed. I wanted to make a record with him. He's a confident singer and he's not trying to fill anyone's shoes."
Speaking about the new DIAMOND HEAD album's musical direction, Brian said: "This new album has an echo of the early albums, but I always try to push our music forward somewhere new if possible."
Ras added: "All in all this album was made with the band’s first fans foremost in mind, from start to finish. We wanted to write songs that would have ties to the best parts of the all the previous albums. We feel we have achieved what we set out to do and we hope everyone will hear and feel the DIAMOND HEAD spirit through this new eponymous record."
In general, the album lyrics focus on political and environmental themes, specifically warning that our world is in many ways leaning towards self-destruction. The opening and closing songs encapsulate these themes, while the body of the album explores subtopics in more depth, along with songs dealing with lighter subjects that aren't so heavy on the heart.
"Diamond Head" track listing:
01. Bones02. Shout At The Devil03. Set My Soul On Fire04. See You Rise05. All The Reasons You Live06. Wizards Sleeve07. Our Time Is Now08. Speed09. Blood On My Hands10. Diamonds11. Silence
Tatler joined members of METALLICA, MEGADETH, SLAYER and ANTHRAX at the U.K.'s Sonisphere festival in 2011, performing DIAMOND HEAD's classic song "Am I Evil?" METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich addressed the crowd, saying: "If it wasn't for Brian Tatler, there's a pretty good fucking chance none of us would be here tonight. Would you give it up for Brian Tatler one more time?"
Speaking about this event, Brian said: "It was great. A nod towards DIAMOND HEAD to say, 'Respect. You're an important band. You might not have sold millions of records, but you're an influential band.' And it's nice to be influential." Brian continued: "But equally, if it wasn't for METALLICA, then DIAMOND HEAD would not have had this second wind." 1

MAYHEM To Go 'Very Old School' On Next AlbumMetal-Rules.com conducted an interview with guitarist Morten "Teloch" Iversen of Norwegian black metallers MAYHEM when the band played in Austin, Texas in early November. You can now watch the chat below.
Speaking about MAYHEM's plans for the follow-up to its 2014 album, "Esoteric Warfare", Teloch said: "We started the process by talking about the sound, how we want it to sound, but we haven't written anything at all. We're going very old school again — acoustic drums, no triggers. Very old school again."
MAYHEM's fifth full-length album, "Esoteric Warfare", came out in on May 2014 via Season Of Mist. The follow-up to 2007's "Ordo Ad Chao" was mixed at Mølla Studio in Gjerstad, Norway.
MAYHEM has gone through many lineup changes due to various circumstances. Therefore, even the loss of guitarist Blasphemer, who decided to focus on his other band AVA INFERI in 2008, did not stop the band. Activities mainly revolved around live shows, until the right balance was found again with the recruitment of Morten "Teloch" Iversen. The guitarist had already made a name for himself with NIDINGR, which is highly regarded among black metal enthusiasts yet remained mostly an underground phenomenon. 9

Video: VINCE NEIL Gives Shoutout To LEMMY During MÖTLEY CRÜE's Los Angeles ConcertMÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil paid tribute to iconic MOTÖRHEAD frontman Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister during CRÜE's December 28 concert at Staples Center in Los Angeles.
"We lost a true legend today, Lemmy from MOTÖRHEAD," Neil told the crowd. "I don't think he'd want a moment of silence. I think he'd want you to [put your hand] up in the air and say, 'Fuck yeah, Lemmy!' And then I think he'd wanna get down to the fucking music. What do you think?"
Fan-filmed video footage of Neil's Lemmy shoutout can be seen below.
As previously reported, memorial services for Lemmy have been scheduled for Saturday, January 9 from 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. at the Rainbow Bar And Grill in West Hollywood, California.
Lemmy, who just celebrated his 70th birthday on Christmas Eve (December 24), learned two days later on the 26th that he was afflicted with an aggressive form of cancer. He died two days later, on Monday (December 28) at his home in Los Angeles.
MOTÖRHEADwas revered by both metal and punk fans, and Lemmy was considered an icon for his musical talent and his embodiment of the rock n’ roll lifestyle.
The Rainbow Bar aAd Grill on L.A.'s Sunset Strip was known as Lemmy's hangout, making it an obvious place for friends and family to say goodbye to the legend.
Separately, some MOTÖRHEAD fans are outraged because Ticketmaster erroneously sent out an e-mail on New Year's Day offering them a chance to see the band perform live in June at a festival in the United Kingdom. The Download festival's ad reads: Make sure you don't miss Ozzy, Lemmy, Dave Mustaine and Bruce Dickinson when they return to the home of rock this June."
A spokesperson for Ticketmaster told the Daily Star: "We sincerely apologize for our e-mail advertising Lemmy at Download. It was sent in error. We can only say sorry for any upset we caused fans."

THE CULT: Video For New Song 'Hinterland'The official video for the song "Hinterland" from THE CULT can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's tenth studio album, "Hidden City", which will be released on February 5, 2016 via Cooking Vinyl. The follow-up to 2012's "Choice Of Weapon" was written by singer Ian Astbury and guitarist Billy Duffy and was produced by Bob Rock, who has previously worked with METALLICA and MÖTLEY CRÜE.
Said Astbury: "'Hinterland' is a place both real and imagined, a hidden city symbolic of a new Rome. Through the eyes of several witnesses, we observe a young woman as she realizes her enlightened self in a dystopian dream world. 'Hinterland' is filled with symbolism, reflecting a new aeon in the shift of human consciousness as we realign with our planet's natural rhythms."
The final installment in a trilogy of recordings, completing 2007's "Born Into This" ("The Fall") and 2012's "Choice Of Weapon" ("Dark Night of the Soul"), "Hidden City" is a tightly woven series of experience and visions with underlying themes of redemption and rebirth threaded through THE CULT's visceral music. Astbury's signature baritone and blood-soaked lyrics paired with Duffy's smouldering, textured guitar tones, create a musical environment that is fearless and peerless.
From the sonic assault of the opening track "Dark Energy", "Hidden City" launches quickly into the dark underbelly of its subject matter. Stemming from the Spanish phrase "La Ciudad Oculta" or "hidden city," the album reflects an awakening of consciousness through its tone and complexity.
"Hidden City is a metaphor for our spiritual lives, our intimate interior lives," explains Astbury. "I find today's gurus are trying to peddle some cure, product or insight as if it's a new phenomenon. My place is to respond, not react, to observe, participate and share through words and music. There is no higher authority than the heart."
"Hidden City" track listing:
01. Dark Energy02. No Love Lost03. Dance The Night04. In Blood05. Birds Of Paradise06. Hinterland07. G O A T08. Deeply Ordered Chaos09. Avalanche Of Light10. Lilies11. Heathens12. Sound And Fury
THE CULT played its first show with new bass player Grant Fitzpatrick on October 28, 2015 at Stubb's Bar-B-Q in Austin, Texas.
"Choice Of Weapon" sold around 11,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 34 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was made available on May 22, 2012 via Cooking Vinyl.
THE CULT is Ian Astbury (vocals), Billy Duffy (guitars), John Tempesta (drums), Grant Fitzpatrick (bass), Damon Fox (keyboards, rhythm guitar).

AEROSMITH Singer STEVEN TYLER To Release 'Red White & You' Solo Single This MonthThe second taste of AEROSMITH frontman Steven Tyler's forthcoming country-influenced debut solo album, a song called "Red White & You", will go for radio adds on January 25. The track is being described by Tyler's record label, Big Machine Label Group's Dot Records, as "American up-tempo country anthem."
In May 2015, Tyler released his first country single, "Love Is Your Name", which reached #1 on the Billboard Country Streaming Songs chart.
Tyler's full-length country debut is tentatively due in early 2016. The singer will also perform alongside Nashville-based band LOVING MARY for two nights in March at the Niagara Fallsview Casino in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada.
The "Love Is Your Name" clip was filmed just outside Nashville and was previewed on ABC's "Good Morning America" before it went live online. The track was written by Lindsey Lee and Eric Paslay.
Tyler spoke to ABC News Radio about his appreciation for modern country music. He said: "I think country music is the new rock 'n' roll. I mean, you can listen to the lyrics, you can really get into it, just as you could get into 'Stairway To Heaven'. Country's not just about porches, dogs and kicking my boots up. It's a whole lot more, but it's about being real. You know, the world's gone so far away from that. I hope it comes back."

DEEP PURPLE's IAN PAICE Talks Next Album: 'We've Got Plenty Of Material, Probably More Than We Need'Drummer Ian Paice of legendary British hard rockers DEEP PURPLE spoke to music journalist Gary Graff about the band's plans to record the follow-up to 2013's "Now What?!" album. He said: "We all come over to your huge country [USA] after the Christmas break. We start around the end of January. We go back into the studio in Nashville with [producer] Bob Ezrin [KISS, PINK FLOYD, PETER GABRIEL, ALICE COOPER, KANSAS]. We had such a great time making the last record that we just want to try and duplicate that the next time around. We've got plenty of material, probably more than we need, but there is a weeding process that, you know, happens when you start listening back in clarity. So, you know, the runts of the litter will be discarded and the best ten or eleven tracks will be worked on."
DEEP PURPLE bassist Roger Glover recently talked about the band's writing process, telling Ultimate Classic Rock: "We jam and jam and jam, and if we find something that we like to play or that works well or inspires us, then we'll try to knock it into some kind of arrangement. Then, once we've got that, Ian [Gillan, vocals] and I will figure out what the song's really all about, and write the lyrics and all of that stuff."
DEEP PURPLE's first new album in eight years, "Now What?!", topped charts in Germany, Norway and Austria and peaked at No. 19 in Britain.
"Now What?!" sold 4,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 115 on The Billboard 200 chart. The album was released in North America in April 2013 via earMUSIC, the Hamburg, Germany-based international rock label which is part of Edel Group.
DEEP PURPLE — which has been eligible for induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame for two decades now — will finally enter the Rock Hall as part of the class of 2016. The band's first three lineups are being inducted, including drummer Ian Paice, guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, late keyboardist Jon Lord, and separate teams of singers and bassists — Rod Evans and Nick Simper, Ian Gillan and Roger Glover, and David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes. 43

Pre-order "For All Kings" here.
Says ANTHRAX drummer Charlie Benante: "The cover art for this record is again done by Alex Ross, who is probably one of the greatest artists living. And he did our previous covers."
He continues: "My idea for this one was to show this hall and these huge statues of these kings — who, of course, are us — and trying to tie in the last album cover with these creatures who are drawn into this room with our ANTHRAX 'A.' This one, you'll see those creatures in this hall kind of trying to reach up at these kings. We tried to tie in the last two album covers with this album cover. And when you see it, it's beautiful. It's grandiose. It just has this beautiful look to it. And, yeah, it's gonna be a great album cover."
Beginning in the fall of 2014, ANTHRAX — Charlie Benante (drums), Scott Ian (rhythm guitar), Frank Bello (bass), Joey Belladonna (vocals), and lead guitarist Jon Donais — took their time in the studio recording the follow up to their Grammy-nominated, critically acclaimed 2011 album, "Worship Music". The band recorded some 20 original songs, almost twice as many as they had ever brought into the studio in the past. In terms of how the new music sounds, Bello said, "The thing about ANTHRAX...we have this heavy, thrashy music and Joey's powerful and melodic vocals. I love heavy music, but I also love melody, so the challenge is to blend them together so they sound like ANTHRAX. I think we've done a really good job of that on the new album."
ANTHRAX recently joined "Big Four" comrades SLAYER on a seven-week European tour that kicked off on October 25. 4

MÖRK GRYNING - Tusen År Har Gått Debut To See Reissue In January With Bonus MaterialEisenwald has announced the reissue of the classic Scandinavian black metal Mörk Gryning's debut, Tusen År Har Gått.
This re-release comes using the original artwork available, designed with the original No Fashion release in mind, taking elements from the original layout with attention to detail and adding new, optimized parts. An expanded 16 pages booklet includes the classic ‘90s band photos, unpublished images, and material from the album area. Instead of usual liner notes, a newly conducted interview around the album and early time of the band by Thomas Vänäänen will be included.
Mörk Gryning (Swedish for "dark dawn") arose during the year 1993 and both founding members Draakh Kimera and Goth Gorgon started out to create their mystical brand of black metal. After two demos in '93 and '94, they signed with the infamous Swedish extreme metal label No Fashion Records (Marduk, Dark Funeral, Dissection, Katatonia, Opthalamia).
During May 1995 the duo (both members beeing only 16 and 19 years) entered the Unisound studios together with Dan Swanö (Edge Of Sanity) to record their debut album Tusen År Har Gått; a nine track theme album about the story of Nidas, Eldon, Erin, and Cahn. It included lyrics in Swedish and English and managed to create a beautiful classic from the early days of the Scandinavian black metal.
Looking back today, Jonas Berndt (Goth Gorgon) adds: "I've listened through the album and I'm proud that it sounds so fresh and honest still today. It's great songs with nothing superfluous to it.”
Besides the nine album tracks, two previously unreleased tracks have been added to the tracklisting, one being the first track the band ever recorded. No modern re-mastering was done for the record, the album was mastered before the "loudness" war at cutting room and still sounds excellent today. Officially licensed from Universal Music Sweden and available as jewelcase CD and deluxe hot foil debossed Digipak CD edition limited to 500 copies worldwide! A vinyl edition is under preparation and will be issued at a later point in 2016.

Germany's SKYTHEN Release New Video For Silverowls EP Title TrackFormed in March 2014, Germany-based bashers Skythen have come tearing out of the gate with a 7-song debut EP, entitled Silverowls, guaranteed to garner attention as soon as unsuspecting metal community gets wind of it. Categories be damned, but if you have to stamp a label on the band's sound call Skythen a no bullshit metal band with Black Sabbath-flavoured stoner-rock tendencies.
Check out the band's new video for the EP's title track below.
Former Dad Maria members Benjamin Kapidzic (vocals, guitars) and Frederic Twisterling (bass) have teamed up with Jakob Ehmke (drums) to create a short but heavy rollercoaster built without brakes. Skythen is heavily reminiscent of Norwegian crushers Susperia, as Kapidzic is a dead ringer for former singer Athera when he doesn't sound like Faith No More's Mike Patton in a shouting match.
Musically, the trio channel everything from the aformentioned Sabbath to Susperia, Down, classic Metallica, and Turbonegro over the course of Silverowls, capping things off with a stoner-tweaked cover of Metallica's "Motorbreath".
