STUCK MOJO Parts Ways With Vocalist BONZ, Bassist COREY LOWERY; New Album To Arrive Next Year

STUCK MOJO Parts Ways With Vocalist BONZ, Bassist COREY LOWERY; New Album To Arrive Next Year

Rap/metal pioneers STUCK MOJO have confirmed that they have parted ways with vocalist Bonz and bassist Corey Lowery, a year after playing a well-received reunion show in the band's hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. Two new members have already been recruited and a new studio album has been completed, with tentative plans to release the CD sometime in mid-2016.

During an appearance on a recent edition of the "Talk Toomey" podcast, STUCK MOJO drummer Frank Fontsere stated about the group's current status (hear audio below): "We did the reunion show [in December 2014], and it was great, and we did a couple of other shows that were great. But it was one of those things — not to go into too much detail — we're gonna continue on, but it's gonna be me and Rich [Ward, guitar] and two other guys. It hasn't been announced yet officially, but I was told that I can say that."

Regarding the upcoming STUCK MOJO record, Frank said: "I think it's the best album we've ever done. I know everyone says that, but I've let a few people preview it, and I know Rich has let a few people preview it, and the responses are from people whose opinions we respect, who have no reason to be dishonest, and were, like, 'Oh my God! This is amazing!' So I really think it will silence any doubters. If anybody hears ,'Oh, STUCK MOJO put out a new record, but it's not with the guys that I want to be in the band, so it can't be any good.' Well, they'll get a surprise when they hear it. This album is not fooling around."

He continued: "We've done some experimental things in the past. Any artist wants to push the boundaries of what they do and what they're known for, so they try different things, and sometimes those things don't work out. But this record, you can depend on… The kind of thing that you want to hear from our band, if you're a fan, you will hear on this record. Let's just say, if you're a STUCK MOJO fan, you've got nothing to fear."

Asked if the new STUCK MOJO album will be released independently or if it will be made available through one of the established rock/metal labels, Frank said: "We're gonna do it on a label. I don't know who it is yet. We have some offers. That's all between Rich and our management and the labels and everything. I don't really participate in that process, because, you know, I think it's important for every ship to have a captain, and Rich, when it comes to STUCK MOJO, is definitely the captain of the ship. It's not a dictatorship; he wants input. He'll ask me all the time, 'What do you think about this? What do you think about that?' And I will definitely be glad to give him my opinion. I think I've steered him away from some wrong decisions in the past, creatively and business-wise, and he's definitely open to other people's suggestions. But when it comes down to it, you have to have somebody who has the veto power, you have to have somebody who says, 'Okay. I've heard everything. I appreciate everybody's opinion, but I've weighed it all in my head, and this is the way we're going.' So when it comes to all the label decisions and business decisions, that's between Mark Willis, our manager, and Rich; they make that decision. So I basically wait to hear what's gonna happen. But I know we'll be doing it on a label and we'll be putting the record out, hopefully, sometime in the summer."

As has been well documented, Ward and Bonz have had strained and often turbulent relationship, resulting in Bonz being dismissed from the band on two occasions, most recently in July 2006. Ward at the time blamed the split on the frontman's alleged substance-abuse issues, saying that the vocalist's illicit drug use "affect[ed] [Bonz's live] performance," in the process "transform[ing] a guy we loved into someone that no one in the band wanted to be around." Ward added: "To gamble the band's future on someone who is the source of such instability is not an option anymore." Bonz was eventually replaced by Lord Nelson.

In 2014, the "classic" STUCK MOJO lineup reunited for reunion shows, and work on a new album has commenced. Bonz was also active with his own band, BONZ, having released the critically acclaimed "Broken Silence" album this past February on Eternal Sound Records and Pavement Entertainment. A lyric video for the title track sheds light on his relationship with Ward through a clever use of STUCK MOJO songtitles.

Ward recently gave an interview to the "Talking Metal" podcast, in which he said about STUCK MOJO's cross-cultural musical mish-mash: "I never tried to be a funk guitar player; I was a metal guy. It was just how my influences cross-sectioned with our funk/reggae bass player and our rapper, who couldn't sing anything, 'cause he had no idea about melody. He was just a pissed off black guy who had a rough life, who had been in prison, who just had… he had a story and had an outlook on life that I just had no idea even existed."

In response to Ward's comments, Bonz released a statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET in which he said that he "was simultaneously shocked, hurt and angered when I read the most recent comments that Rich Ward has stated about me publicly. I am not totally surprised, as this has been a point of contention for several years.

"Both my private life and my public persona are very important to me, and I do not appreciate either being questioned or attacked. "I am not sure where [Rich's above-mentioned quote] comes from, or quite how I am supposed to interpret it, but it is not something that I would expect to come from him in 2015. This was a stark reminder of how things ended up in 2006, the last time that we worked together.

"I have worked too hard to establish myself in this business to have anyone besmirch my name over and over again.

"The last three years have been some of my most productive. Forming a new band, recording an album that I am damn proud of, getting the opportunity to be supported by great labels, and traveling the country playing and performing music for fans, I believe proves any of the past derogatory statements to be 'questionable.'

"I chose to respond to these comments, as in the past I chose to remain silent and take the 'high' road.

"After traveling around the country and reconnecting with many old friends and fans along the way, I was alarmed at the stories and rumors that were out there. I want to make sure that my thoughts and feelings are conveyed and that the public is exposed to both sides of the story."

STUCK MOJO played its first reunion show on December 26, 2014 at the Masquerade in Atlanta, Georgia. The concert took place more than four years after the band completed its "Here Comes The Monster" tour of Europe with a lineup that featured Lord Nelson on the mic, Ward on guitar, Sean Delson on bass and Frank Fontsere on drums.

Lowery has spent the past few months touring with SAINT ASONIA, the new act featuring ex-THREE DAYS GRACE frontman Adam Gontier and STAIND guitarist Mike Mushok.

ANNIHILATOR Planning First Concert Blu-Ray, Acoustic CD/DVD

ANNIHILATOR Planning First Concert Blu-Ray, Acoustic CD/DVD

Veteran Canadian metallers ANNIHILATOR have re-signed with UDR Music for two more studio albums. The band's leader, Jeff Waters, states: "That will put us at 17 studio CDs when that deal is over! Add that to the mega-package(s) we are planning in 2016 and it's gonna be a fantastic four more years with them, us and the fans!"

In other news, ANNIHILATOR is planning to release its first full-length, full-production concert Blu-ray. The set will tentatively be filmed in April, most likely in Germany. Waters says: "It would be a very special event for fans, as we are (apparently!) discussing all the ways to make it so!"

Another ANNIHILATOR project that is in the works is a full CD/DVD of a dozen or so acoustic songs. Waters says: "There would be six musicians involved in this live acoustic show but we are thinking of doing it live in my recording studio in Ottawa; something along the lines of the bonus acoustic video material on the latest VAN HALEN release."

ANNIHILATOR will announce another European tour in January. The trek will include dates in Russia, Denmark and Germany that were canceled by "the Lufthansa strike, a venue issue and one night off for a bad throat!" according to Waters.

ANNIHILATOR's fifteenth studio album, "Suicide Society", was released on September 18 via UDR Music. As he has in the past, Waters handled all songwriting duties, played all guitar and bass, engineered, produced, mixed and mastered "Suicide Society", and he is also back commanding lead-vocal duties, as he did on the critically acclaimed "King Of The Kill" (1994), "Refresh The Demon" (1996), "Remains" (1997) and other ANNIHILATOR albums over the years.

Waters previously stated about his return to vocal duties: "Dave [Padden, ANNIHILATOR's vocalist from 2003 to 2014) and I have, essentially, been ANNIHILATOR since 2003 but he resigned last December, citing having had enough of touring, being away from home and other commitments. I thank him for his 11 years with ANNIHILATOR. That said, ANNIHILATOR and I are known for never giving up and, occasionally, coming up with something even better than its former offering(s): this is undeniably the case with 'Suicide Society'!"

MATT SORUM On LEMMY:

MATT SORUM On LEMMY: 'Today We Lost The Greatest Badass In The History Of Rock 'N' Roll'

Drummer Matt Sorum (GUNS N' ROSES, VELVET REVOLVER, THE CULT) has penned the following tribute to MOTÖRHEAD mainman Lemmy Kilmister:

"Today we lost the greatest badass in the history of rock 'n' roll, Lemmy Kilmister. He was a man who lived his life with no apologies and lived the dream of a life on the road playing music to thousands of fans worldwide. Lemmy loved rock 'n' roll and his fans. Never took them for granted and rocked as hard as he could night after night. With his opening line at every MOTÖRHEAD show, 'We are MOTÖRHEAD and we play rock 'n' roll.'

"I met Lemmy in '89 when playing with THE CULT in London in a small rock club called St. Moritz. He opened his arms to me as I was new to the big leagues at that point. I felt accepted by him and that meant everything to me. The years ahead with GUNS N' ROSES, THE CULT and VELVET REVOLVER and travels on the road, it was always a good time crossing paths with him. Likes pirates on sailing ships. He was someone that carved the way and we followed by example. Stick to what you believe in, never waver and everybody else can fuck off.

"I got the call to play with MOTÖRHEAD in 2009 and took the invitation meeting them in D.C. with no rehearsal. Although somewhat nervous the fans would kill me if I didn't do the music justice, I played with the toughest rock 'n' roll band in history and definitely the loudest . The best time was on the bus with countless stories from the very intelligent Lemmy. A well-read man and history buff. It made you really love him like an elder statesman that you looked up to. A classic gentleman, really. That's what he was for me. He taught me to respect myself and have respect and gratitude for the life we'd been given.

"He will always remain in my heart as a guide to push on. Take no prisoners and never give up.

"The world of rock is shaken today, but thank God Lemmy was here to teach us how it's supposed to be done.

"My condolences to his band mates Phil and Mikkey and his family and close friends.

"Godspeed, my friend. I love you and will miss you."

Ex-MOTÖRHEAD Guitarist

Ex-MOTÖRHEAD Guitarist 'FAST' EDDIE CLARKE: 'The World Seems A Really Empty Place Right Now'

Former MOTÖRHEAD guitarist "Fast" Eddie Clarke says that "the world seems like a really empty place" following the passing of the band's mainman, Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister.

Lemmy found out on December 26 that he was suffering from "an extremely aggressive" form of cancer. The 70-year-old rock icon died two days later at home in Los Angeles with his family by his side.

Clarke was a member of MOTÖRHEAD from 1976 until 1982. He was one-third of the band's classic lineup, which also included drummer drummer Philthy "Animal" Taylor, who died last month of liver failure.

Clarke says: "I have just been told that Lemmy has passed away in L.A. Like Phil, he was like a brother to me. I am devastated.

"We did so much together, the three of us. The world seems a really empty place right now. I am having trouble finding the words... He will live on in our hearts. RIP Lemmy!"

Clarke, Taylor and Lemmy appeared on five albums together: MOTÖRHEAD's 1977 self-titled debut, 1979's "Overkill" and "Bomber", 1980's "Ace Of Spades" and 1982's "Iron Fist".

Last year, Clarke spoke about the disappointment he felt after he was fired from MOTÖRHEAD. He said: "Some things you just don't get over. I had imagined dying onstage with MOTÖRHEAD, so it was a blow when they didn't want me any longer."

In a 2011 interview, Lemmy talked about the circumstances that led to Clarke's final departure from MOTÖRHEAD. He said: "I like Phil; he was my best mate. Eddie was kind of a friend except he was always complaining about something. It got kinda tedious. Last time he left, we laid low. Before, one of us would go off and bring him back. It was a shame. He shouldn't have done that; we had a lot going for us back then. He should have stuck though it. It was the Wendy O. Williams thing and I couldn't understand that (reference: recording 'Stand By Your Man', a cover version of the Tammy Wynette with Wendy O. Williams). He just gave up on it, because Wendy wasn't immediately perfect on it, she just needed to go through it a few times and he left the band over it. I couldn't fucking believe it. I think he was expecting to be talked back in. Phil came in the room and said, 'Eddie's left again.' I said, 'Whose turn is it to go talk to him?' [Laughs] I said, 'Fuck it, I'm not doing it.' That's the way it went. Wrong decision on his part."

CHILDREN OF BODOM

CHILDREN OF BODOM's ALEXI LAIHO Doesn't Want To 'Bitch And Whine' About How Internet Has Changed Music Industry

EMP Live TV recently conducted an interview with guitarist/vocalist Alexi Laiho of Finnish metallers CHILDREN OF BODOM. You can now watch the chat below. A couple of excerpts follow (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).

On what he would do in life if he wasn't a musician:

Alexi: "Oh, God. I don't even wanna know. Maybe I'd be in jail or in some sort of mental institution, but music has definitely saved my life. So I have no other options; I never really did. I mean, I knew it since I was a kid that I was gonna… this is what I wanted to do, this is what I need to do. So I dropped out of school when I was fifteen, and I got a job and everything, but I, basically, just… All I did was just concentrate on playing, practicing, writing music. In 1993, we were, like, thirteen and fourteen years old, me and my drummer, and we started making demo tapes and stuff like that. And then the bass player, he joined in 1995, and then blah blah blah. Then we basically got a record deal in 1997 and then the rest is just history."

On whether he remembers the exact moment when he thought, "This is what I wanna do for a living for the rest of my life":

Alexi: "I kind of do, yeah, actually. Well, I was probably four years old or something like that, and I heard… My dad was playing a DIRE STRAITS record or something like that. And I went up to my dad, like, 'What is that?' I heard the riff, and I'm, like, 'That's so awesome.' I thought it was the best thing ever. He's, like, 'That's guitar.' And I was, like, 'That's what I wanna do.' No bullshit. Well, I started playing violin when I was seven years old, so I started with that. But at the same time, I sort of already had developed this obsession for guitar. I just knew that one day I was gonna play guitar. And I sort of kept bugging my parents about it for years and years, and finally when I was eleven years old, my dad got me my first guitar, and then, you know, there you go."

On the heavy metal music industry has changed since CHILDREN OF BODOM first started:

Alexi: "Well, it's changed a lot, actually. Ever since our first album came out, I could see the metal scene going up and getting more popular. Let's just say from the mid-'90s, the scene was pretty much dead, especially extreme metal; it was very underground and the shows weren't that big. And then it started to get a lot bigger pretty much everywhere. I mean, not just in Europe but U.S. as well. So I could see the change, which was awesome. But now, obviously, music business has changed a lot because of the Internet and all that crap, which I don't really wanna get into it too much, 'cause I don't wanna be one of those guys who are bitching and whining about it. You know, it is what it is, right? Okay, fine, people download shit, but you've just gotta play along. If you're just gonna cry about it, you're never gonna get anywhere. I've always said that if you know how to play your instrument, if you know how to fucking kick ass live, and if you can handle a lot of touring, you're always gonna be fine. And that's what we do. I mean, CHILDREN OF BODOM has always been a live band; we've always been about touring. We've been on the road since we were, like, eighteen and seventeen years old, so we basically grew up living like this. I'm thirty-six now, but it's, like, fuck, I don't wanna go home. This is what I do."

CHILDREN OF BODOM's latest album, "I Worship Chaos", was once again recorded at Helsinki, Finland's Danger Johnny Studios and was produced by CHILDREN OF BODOM and Mikko Karmila, who worked with the band on their earlier albums "Halo Of Blood", "Hatebreeder", "Follow The Reaper" and "Hate Crew Deathroll". The CD was mixed and mastered at Finnvox Studios in Helsinki, Finland.

CHILDREN OF BODOM in May announced the departure of the band's guitarist of the past decade, Roope Latvala.

EAGLES OF DEATH METAL - ISIS Fighters May Have Targeted Lead Singer JESSE HUGHES

EAGLES OF DEATH METAL - ISIS Fighters May Have Targeted Lead Singer JESSE HUGHES

DailyMail.co.uk are reporting that Islamist terrorists shouted 'Where are the Yanks?' as they targeted the lead singer of American rock bank Eagles Of Death Metal, it emerged today.

Chilling details of the attempted assassination of Jesse Hughes, 43, emerged as investigators continued to examine evidence from the Paris attacks of November 13th, in which 130 people died across the French capital. By far the worst loss of life was at the Bataclan music venue, where Hughes and his band were performing in front of a 1,000 plus crowd.

Three suicide bombers working for Islamic State killed 90 of them with their Kalashnikov assault rifles, and also by detonating their explosive belts. Now, according to information from the judicial enquiry into the carnage leaked to the Figaro newspaper, Hughes was in their gun sights.

Just after the Eagles, from Palm Spring, California, ran off the stage, one of the killers shouted: 'Where's the singer? Where are the Yanks?' He then started playing a discarded xylophone, as other members of the ISIS cell searched for Hughes and his bandmates.

Hughes, who is nicknamed 'The Devil', is a passionate supporter of gun ownership in the US, and has controversial far right views on a range of subjects. In a film called 'The Redemption Of Te Devil' released just before the attacks, the devout Christian threatens physical violence against anyone who opposes America's Second Amendment, which protects the right to 'keep and bear arms'.

HAWKWIND

HAWKWIND's DAVE BROCK Pays Tribute To LEMMY: 'We Had A Magical Bond When We Played Together'

HAWKWIND leader Dave Brock has paid tribute to his late bandmate Lemmy, describing him as "a character, a gentleman and friend."

Lemmy, who just celebrated his 70th birthday on Christmas Eve (December 24), learned two days later, on December 26, that he was afflicted with an aggressive form of cancer. He died two days later, on Monday (December 28) at his home in Los Angeles.

Kilmister joined HAWKWIND in 1972 as the band's bassist even though he had previously only played guitar. He fronted the band for their biggest hit, "Silver Machine", but was fired in 1975 after being arrested at the American/Canadian border for having cocaine on his person — the irony being that he didn't have coke on him, but speed. Even though it has been said that Lemmy's partaking in illicit substances was the cause for his dismissal, Kilmister denied that his drug use was not any more excessive than that of anyone else in the band. He would later say that he wasn't kicked out for doing drugs, but for "doing the wrong kind of drugs."

In true Kilmister fashion, Lemmy's departure would directly inform his next step. The last song that Lemmy wrote and recorded for HAWKWIND was a song about the both the thrill and dangers of being a speed addict, namely the track "Motorhead".

Brock says: "So very sad to wake to the news that we have lost Lemmy. I'll miss him, and especially our eccentric text conversations of recent years."

He adds: "We had a magical bond when we played together. He had a style all of his own. His legendary bass playing will live on forever.

"We'll miss you, man. You'll not be forgotten."

GIRLSCHOOL Pays Tribute To LEMMY:

GIRLSCHOOL Pays Tribute To LEMMY: 'We Lost A True Friend'

Veteran all-girl British hard rockers GIRLSCHOOL have released the following statement regarding the passing of MOTÖRHEAD vocalist/bassist Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister:

"Today it is a very sad day in rock, we lost a true friend, someone who since 1979 was part of our lives and our history as band.

"We played together, recorded and toured together, but most and foremost we had the opportunity to know Lemmy's true and kind heart!

"RIP, Lem, we have no words to express how much we miss you!"

The collaboration between MOTÖRHEAD and GIRLSCHOOL started in March 1979, when MOTÖRHEAD began its first big tour in support of the "Overkill" album and GIRLSCHOOL was the opening act. Lemmy had heard GIRLSCHOOL's single "Take It All Away" and thought they were "fucking excellent" and liked the idea of girls being in a band. He told Crypt Magazine: "All of these [female] bands, people treat them like second-class citizens, because they're chicks. There's all this, 'Show us your tits, and we'll give you a gig.' And all of that shit. It's really like, poor."

In 1980, MOTÖRHEAD and GIRLSCHOOL collaborated in HEADGIRL, the result being the "St. Valentine's Day Massacre" EP, though the groups were credited as MotörheadGirlschool on the EP. The 1981 "Please Don't Touch" cover was a collaboration between GIRLSCHOOL and MOTÖRHEAD.

BLACK SABBATH

BLACK SABBATH's TONY IOMMI On LEMMY: 'His Legend Will Never Die'

BLACK SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi has released the following statement regarding the passing of MOTÖRHEAD mainman Lemmy Kilmister:

"Very sad to hear of the passing of our dear friend Lemmy. He gave so much to the music business and was totally dedicated to his fans. His legend will never die. His life was all about the music, being on stage and a giving pleasure to others.

"Rest in peace, Lemmy. You’ll be greatly missed."

Lemmy, who just celebrated his 70th birthday on Christmas Eve (December 24), learned two days later, on December 26, that he was afflicted with an aggressive form of cancer. He died two days later, on Monday (December 28) at his home in Los Angeles.

Lemmy had been dealing with serious health issues for the past two years, including getting a pacemaker in 2013 and suffering from a hematoma last year. But despite 40 years of hard living and drinking, he continued to tour and record at a feverish pace.

The band was forced to cancel or postpone a number of shows this year due to Lemmy's poor health, which also forced him to cut back on his drinking and give up smoking.

While MOTÖRHEAD itself was revered by metal and punk fans, Lemmy himself became a rock and roll icon and elder statesman, the embodiment of a musician who lived the rock lifestyle to the fullest and never stopped.

LEMMY Praised By The Recording Academy President/CEO NEIL PORTNOW

LEMMY Praised By The Recording Academy President/CEO NEIL PORTNOW

Neil Portnow, president/CEO of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, also known as NARAS or The Recording Academy, the governing body of the Grammy Awards, has released the following statement regarding the passing of MOTÖRHEAD mainman Lemmy Kilmister:

"Grammy winner Lemmy Kilmister was a remarkable frontman and bona fide heavy metal icon. A founding member of the legendary group MOTÖRHEAD, Lemmy's raw, powerful vocals, paired with his innovative bass playing and songwriting skills, made him one of the most prominent figures in rock and roll. His magnetic stage presence and willingness to break barriers propelled the metal genre to new heights, influencing countless fellow musicians in the process.

"We have lost a truly dynamic member of the music community and our sincerest condolences go out to Lemmy's family, friends, collaborators and all who have been impacted by his work."

MOTÖRHEAD won the "Best Metal Performance" Grammy in 2005 for its cover version of the METALLICA song "Whiplash". MOTÖRHEAD was nominated once again in 2015 for "Heartbreaker", but lost out to TENACIOUS D's cover of DIO's "The Last In Line".

In a 2009 interview with SPIN, Lemmy made it clear that he was still sore about the fact that MOTÖRHEAD never got to claim its Grammy at the official 2005 awards ceremony. He said: "We didn't get to go to the real Grammys 'cause we're distasteful."

He added: "Us and the Mexican jazz bands had to line up and get our stuff the previous afternoon."

DEE SNIDER: How LEMMY KILMISTER Saved TWISTED SISTER (Video)

DEE SNIDER: How LEMMY KILMISTER Saved TWISTED SISTER (Video)

In the Artisan News clip below, TWISTED SISTER frontman Dee Snider reveals how Lemmy Kilmister from MOTÖRHEAD played a crucial role in helping TWISTED SISTER break through in the U.K.

Snider recalls how, in July 1982, TWISTED SISTER was offered the "special guest" slot on a bill at a heavy metal festival headlined by MOTÖRHEAD at a soccer stadium in Wrexham, North Wales.

Making the situation even more daunting, "makeup-wearing bands were not only nonexistent but completely unacceptable to English metal fans," according to Dee.

Kilmister saved the day by offering to introduce TWISTED SISTER to the MOTÖRHEAD audience.

"Lemmy made it cool to like TWISTED," Dee later said. "At Wrexham, MOTÖRHEAD's crowd had their bottles ready for us. We were shitting our pants, so for the headliner to bring on the opening act was just the coolest thing possible. I'll love him forever for that."

In his autobiography, "Shut Up And Give Me The Mic", Snider wrote about the incident: "I am still not sure why Lemmy showed us this kindness. It's probably just the way he is wired and one of the reasons he is so beloved. He may be a pirate, but he's a benevolent pirate."

METALLICA's KIRK HAMMETT: MOTÖRHEAD Made Me Realize It Was Okay To Be An Outsider

METALLICA guitarist Kirk Hammett has released the following statement to RollingStone.com regarding the passing of MOTÖRHEAD mainman Lemmy Kilmister:

"Lemmy was the finest of gentlemen.

"Back in 1979, when I was 16 years old, I heard 'Overkill' for the first time. I thought it was the fastest thing I'd ever heard, and I declared to all my friends that MOTÖRHEAD were the fastest band in the land.

"When I had first seen pictures of what these guys looked like, I noticed a certain authenticity about them. I imagined they lived the way they looked and looked the way they lived.

"And I remember very distinctly having a realization that moment — I realized that it was okay to be an outsider, and that it was okay to not feel like I had to conform to anything that I objected to in my teenage life, because, clearly, the MOTÖRHEAD guys in this picture looked like they didn't conform to anything at all, and boy, it sure looked and sounded like they were enjoying themselves as a result. So I got a lot from that pic and that massive sound and that attitude.

"And I have to thank Lemmy, Fast Eddie and also the recently departed Philthy Animal for the inspiration, spark and fire that I felt so strongly from that night in 1979. That inspiration will always be there with me and may the music of MOTÖRHEAD live on!"

MOTÖRHEAD won the "Best Metal Performance" Grammy in 2005 for its cover version of the METALLICA song "Whiplash".

A 1995 gig at the Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood, members of METALLICA celebrated Lemmy's 50th birthday by taking the stage as a wigged tribute band dubbed the LEMMYS.

In a 2011 interview with Metal Insider, Lemmy said: "You can't top METALLICA. They're really a fucking excellent band. I'm delighted that they said that I was one of their influences. Like, they have all of their influences, and you can't hear the influences in them, which is great. They've become their own people, and that's great. I like them a lot. I've spent a lot of time with those boys."

SAXON

SAXON's BIFF BYFORD On LEMMY: 'If You Were His Friend, You Were His Friend For Life'

SAXON singer Biff Byford has released the following statement regarding the passing of MOTÖRHEAD mainman Lemmy Kilmister:

"I knew Lemmy for 36 years. If you were his friend, you were his friend for life.

"He has dealt his last card.

"He was a defiant rebel to the end who loved his music and never compromised.

"My heart goes out to his family and friends.

"The MOTÖRHEAD organisation are in mourning for their friend and mentor to the management and their fantastic crew.

"Let's remember Lemmy as he wanted to be: as an iconic songwriter and lyricists and rock and roll rebel.

"I'm sure Phil [Campbell] and Mikkey [Dee] are in shock this was their greatest tour, and I watched them play every night and they sounded great.

"Sad, sad day.

"Wherever you are, mate, give 'em hell."

MOTÖRHEAD

MOTÖRHEAD's Manager: LEMMY's Cancer Prognosis Gave Him Two To Six Months To Live

MOTÖRHEAD frontman Lemmy Kilmister was given "two to six months to live" when he was told he had terminal cancer on December 26, two days before his death.

The band's longtime manager Todd Singerman has revealed to Sky News that Lemmy went to hospital two days after his 70th- birthday party at the Whisky A Go Go club in Hollywood, California on December 13 because he wasn't feeling well. Although his doctors initially said he was fine, they decided to do a brain scan before releasing him because "his speech was seeming a little odd. We wanted to see if maybe [he'd had] a minor stroke." The scan uncovered tumors in Lemmy's brain and neck.

Singerman told Sky News on Monday: "Nobody had any idea, we just learned Saturday, two days ago, that he even had cancer, and the doctor told him he had between two to six months to live. He [died] today as I was making calls to [his MOTÖRHEAD bandmates] Phil [Campbell] and Mikkey [Dee], telling them to come on out so they could have a last goodbye while he was still upbeat and everything. He was feeling mighty low... He wasn't expected to die like that."

Singerman added: "He [Lemmy] gets home [from tour], we have a big birthday party for him at the Whisky A Go Go. His friends came down and played. Two days later, I could tell he wasn't feeling good, so we took him to the hospital, they release him, then after the brain scan they found the cancer in his brain and his neck... The doctor comes with the result a couple of days later and says... it's terminal."

Despite Lemmy's well-documented health issues over the last two years, Singerman said the cancer diagnosis "caught everyone by surprise. [Cancer] was the last thing we thought he would ever have. When you think about it, he has been to every doctor and hospital around the world and nobody caught that... That comes as a massive shock."

Singerman said Lemmy's lifestyle was unlike that of any other rocker. He said: "I've been with him almost 25 years, and it was a half gallon of Jack Daniels a day, two-three packs of cigarettes and his other little favorites and that was a daily thing.

"Recently he switched over — and I still can't grasp it but he thought it was healthier — he switched over to vodka and orange."

He added: "I still always remember a great quote: Lemmy from MOTÖRHEAD makes Keith Richards from THE [ROLLING] STONES look like a Golden Girl.

"This guy lived it every day and there was never a break in between.

"He was the last true rock star left, if you ask me."

Confirmed: Reunited GUNS N

Confirmed: Reunited GUNS N' ROSES To Play Next Year's COACHELLA MUSIC AND ARTS FESTIVAL

U.S. music industry magazine Billboard says that it has obtained "confirmation" that GUNS N' ROSES, featuring singer Axl Rose and guitarist Slash, will headline next year's edition of the Coachella Music And Arts Festival, set to take place April 15-17 and April 22-24 in Indio, California. The band is also in talks to play as many as 25 football stadiums in North America in the summer of 2016. In addition, GN'R will be one of the first acts to play the new Las Vegas Arena, set to open April 6. GUNS N' ROSES is said to be asking up to $3 million per show, with tickets topping out in the $250-$275 range.

The official lineup for Coachella will be announced on or around January 5.

An advertisement for what appears to be a GUNS N' ROSES reunion tour is playing before "Star Wars: The Force Awakens". The ad shows a raucous crowd with the band jamming in the background and Axl Rose riling the already hyped crowd up even more, but not much else.

The image on GUNS N' ROSES' official web site has also been changed — and now it's the band's old logo. The previous website was deleted entirely, and is now only displaying the logo.

Fans quickly took note of the update, fueling speculation that the band is planning to announce a reunion of the classic GN'R lineup.

Rumors about a reunion have been circulating since the summer, when Slash said that he and Axl Rose repaired the rift that helped splinter the group.

In addition to the revamped web site, Epiphone, the sister company of Slash's guitar company Gibson, is reporting that something is definitely up: "We've been hearing the rumors for months about a reunion of the original lineup of GUNS N' ROSES. But even our well-placed Epiphone informants are still keeping details under wraps. But is there something going on? Yes. But what exactly, we can't say yet. Though numerous mags are confirming a 2017 reunion tour (or at least a massive anniversary show), no one from the original lineup is going all-out on record. But you can bet if the web is a-buzz already at the rumor of 'massive' stadium shows, something good is in the works and that much we can tell you."

A report emerged last month indicating that the GUNS N' ROSES lineup for the reunion trek may not be exactly what fans had in mind. According to the report, the tour will feature founding members Rose , Slash and Duff McKagan on bass — but that's all for the original roster.

Instead of also seeing original guitarist Izzy Stradlin and drummer Steven Adler — or even "Use Your Illusion"-era drummer Matt Sorum — fans may instead get current guitarist Richard Fortus and drummer Frank Ferrer joining the big three, as well as longtime keyboard player Dizzy Reed.

Watch Video Footage Of MOTÖRHEAD's Final Concert

Fan-filmed video footage of MOTÖRHEAD's final concert, which took place on December 11 in Berlin, Germany, can be seen below. Despite suffering from an "extremely aggressive" form of cancer, the band's frontman, Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister battled his way through to the end of the group's European tour.

"He was terribly gaunt," MOTÖRHEAD drummer Mikkey Dee< /b> told Sweden's Expressen. "He spent all his energy on stage and afterwards he was very, very tired. It's incredible that he could even play, that he could finish the Europe tour. It was only 20 days ago. Unbelievable."

MOTÖRHEAD's Berlin concert was originally scheduled to take place on November 27, but was postponed after the group's guitarist, Phil Campbell, was taken ill.

Lemmy told Classic Rock: "I'm pretty happy with the way things have turned out. I like to think I've brought a lot of joy to a lot of people all over the world. I'm true to myself and I'm straight with people."

Asked whether he thought about death in the wake of his recent illnesses, Lemmy replied: "Death is an inevitability, isn't it? You become more aware of that when you get to my age. I don't worry about it. I'm ready for it. When I go, I want to go doing what I do best. If I died tomorrow, I couldn't complain. It's been good."

Video: KILLSWITCH ENGAGE Performs In Providence

Video: KILLSWITCH ENGAGE Performs In Providence

Fan-filmed video footage of KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's December 28 performance at Lupo's in Providence, Rhode Island can be seen below.

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE has set "Incarnate" as the title of its seventh album, tentatively due out in March on Roadrunner Records.

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE frontman Jesse Leach told Revolver about the band's new CD title: "The definition of incarnate is 'in the flesh.' And this record is who we are right now. Whereas [2013's] 'Disarm The Descent' was sort of my 'comeback' album, and was about us feeling out the new vibe. But now, after spending a few years traveling the world together, I think we're all in a really comfortable place. We definitely have a strong sense of self as to who we are as a band."

"Incarnate" will incude the song "Strength Of The Mind", for which KILLSWITCH ENGAGE recently filmed a video with the direction team of Ian McFarland and Mike Pecci (MESHUGGAH, FEAR FACTORY).

"The video visually captures a bit of the anxiety and chaos that the song touches on lyrically," said Leach. "It is almost a bit surreal and dream-like with the camera effects, called 'whacking.'"

He continued: "It is always a pleasure to work with McFarland and Pecci, as they are both artists who give it their all with no shortcuts. Watching Mike work the camera live, while Ian paces around and directs, is a very involving and creatively satisfying experience."

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE drummer Justin Foley recently told Louder Noise that the band's follow-up to "Disarm The Descent" will "definitely [be] a little different record than last time. Last time, it was really, really fast the whole way through. This one doesn't have quite the same speed to it, but has a different kind of heaviness to it, I think — a little bit of moodiness to it. I don't really know how to describe it yet."

He also talked about "Strength Of The Mind", which the band has been performing live. He said: "I think that one is a good representation of stuff that we do. But I also think it's a song that would sound good live. It's a song that wasn't crazy, crazy fast, it wasn't crazy different from any of our stuff, so I think it was a good song to kind of ease into new material. I think live, it was the kind of thing that we could get it to sound tight fairly quickly, which is helpful, 'cause we didn't have a whole lot of time to get it ready for [the last] tour. So that kind of helped us influence picking that song."

"Disarm The Descent" sold around 48,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 7 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD arrived in stores on April 2, 2013 via Roadrunner Records.

"Disarm The Descent" was KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's first album with Jesse Leach at the vocal helm since 2002's now-classic, genre-defining "Alive or Just Breathing".

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE contributed another new song, "Loyalty", to the mixtape for HBO's hit fantasy series "Game Of Thrones".

DAVE LOMBARDO

DAVE LOMBARDO's DEAD CROSS Returns To Studio (Video)

DEAD CROSS, the new "punk" outfit featuring former SLAYER and current PHILM drummer Dave Lombardo alongside members of THE LOCUST and RETOX, has returned to the studio to resume recording its debut album for a 2016 release. The sessions are being helmed by producer Ross Robinson, who has previously worked with KORN, DEFTONES, SEPULTURA and LIMP BIZKIT, among others.

A short video clip from the studio can be seen below.

DEAD CROSS's lineup is as follows:

Dave Lombardo (PHILM, ex-SLAYER) - DrumsJustin Pearson (THE LOCUST, RETOX) - BassMike Crain (RETOX) - GuitarGabe Serbian (THE LOCUST, RETOX, ex-CATTLE DECAPITATION) - Vocals

Lombardo described DEAD CROSS's sound to Noisey: "It's just straightforward brutal punk— metal-esque, but it's definitely not metal. I think it definitely leans more towards the punk style, because I feel that the way things are in the world, a punk attitude is definitely necessary to help you along with the shit that's going on. There's no time to sing, 'We Are the World', or all this bullshit, we're all pissed right now, and there's no better way to release anger than to be in a punk band and write punk music."

Regarding DEAD CROSS's recording plans, Lombardo told Noisey: "I don't know exactly when we'll be able to release anything, but I'd love to get something out by the end of the year, two singles just to release something, and then do a full-length next year. The level of musicianship we have is very high, so I dont think it'll be too much of a problem to create music and put something out. These guys are driven like I am. I've learned a lot from being in this industry, and sometimes it's a lot better when you grab the bull by the horns yourself and don't wait around for other people."

PHILIP ANSELMO

PHILIP ANSELMO's SUPERJOINT Recording New Music

Former PANTERA and current DOWN frontman Philip Anselmo's SUPERJOINT RITUAL project — now known simply as SUPERJOINT for legal reasons — has entered his New Orleans-area studio, Nodferatu's Lair, to record some of its brand new material. Several photos from the sessions can be seen below.

SUPERJOINT's new lineup includes guitarists Kevin Bond (CHRIST INVERSION, ARTIMUS PYLEDRIVER) and Jimmy Bower (DOWN, EYEHATEGOD), drummer José Manuel Gonzalez (WARBEAST, PHILIP H. ANSELMO & THE ILLEGALS) and bassist Stephen Taylor (PHILIP H. ANSELMO & THE ILLEGALS, WOVEN HAND, 16 HORSE POWER).

According to Anselmo, the direction of SUPERJOINT's new material will be very similar to that one the band's first two albums, 2002's "Use Once And Destroy" and 2003's "A Lethal Dose Of American Hatred". "It won't sound any different, because myself, Jimmy and Kevin have always been the main writers in SUPERJOINT anyway, so, really — for the most part, really, me and Jimmy. So it shouldn't sound much different at all," he told Full Metal Jackie back in July.

In a recent interview with the Phoenix New Times, Anselmo was asked why he feels that SUPERJOINT's current live shows are so much better than those that he played with the band more than a decade ago when the group was known as SUPERJOINT RITUAL. He responded: "So-briety! [Laughs] Simply put. Sobriety."

He continued: "You know, originally we were plugging along with SUPERJOINT, truth is, and I'm not a bit embarrassed or ashamed to admit it at all, I really don't remember much about SUPERJOINT from back then except for little pieces. I was fucked up out of my fucking mind on heavy drugs … and the overindulgence of booze. These days, don't get me wrong, I like my suds and I like a bit of the white grape…. But I think every damn one of us has a much clearer mind. A much more stable support system within that realm. And we're all veterans now, man. We've been through the lowest of times together, and this group of people — specifically, [guitarist] Jimmy Bower and [bassist] Kevin Bond — when it was time to say 'fuck this road to destruction,' we all kind of did that together. We all came off of heavy drugs at the same time. So I think there's this strength with knowledge there about what not to do. So really it just happened from our clear minds and fresh blood there. It's a positive thing. It feels like it's fun again, and isn't that the point? If you're going to make music and you're having fun while you're doing it, nothing in this world cane deter from that."

Anselmo also talked in more detail about SUPERJOINT's stage show. He said: "I would just say, as far as energy goes, we know from being in the scene for 20, 30 years that we don't have to get up there and jump around and dance around for the kids anymore. All we need to do is throw our amps and drums up on stage… And play the music as tight as possible with no bullshit, man. Just lay it on them. And during this [fall], we're also going to be doing a multitude of shows with the mighty Glenn Danzig, who I've been friends with, for, geez, 25 years. He's always been a complete gentleman and supporter of myself and what I do. You look at a set like that … our game plan is to rip it song after song after song, with nary a break. And we will always have interaction with the audience because I love that part as well. But it comes down to leading people with a positive impression and playing as many songs as possible."

MIKKEY DEE:

MIKKEY DEE: 'MOTÖRHEAD Is Over'

MOTÖRHEAD drummer Mikkey Dee has confirmed that the band will cease touring and will not record any more albums following the passing of the group's iconic frontman Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister.

"MOTÖRHEAD is over, of course," Mikkey told Sweden's Expressen newspaper. "Lemmy was MOTÖRHEAD. But the band will live on in the memories of many."

He added: "We will not be doing any more tours or anything. And there will not be any more records. But the fire survives, and Lemmy lives on in the hearts of everyone."

MOTÖRHEAD's final concert took place on December 11 in Berlin, Germany. Despite suffering from an "extremely aggressive" form of cancer, Kilmister battled his way through to the end of the group's European tour.

"He was terribly gaunt," Mikkey said. "He spent all his energy on stage and afterwards he was very, very tired. It's incredible that he could even play, that he could finish the Europe tour. It was only 20 days ago. Unbelievable."

Dee believes that MOTÖRHEAD wrapped up its career in the best possible way.

"It feels fantastic that we were able to complete the tour with [Lemmy]," Mikkey said. "It's heartening that we didnt cancel because of Lemmy.

"I'm incredibly grateful over the years we've had, and that we had such a good time together."

MOTÖRHEAD's 22nd studio album, "Bad Magic", was released on August 28.

BEHEMOTH

BEHEMOTH's NERGAL Will Be 'Getting Into Writing Mode' Earlier Than Expected

In a recent interview with Sweden's RockSverige.se, BEHEMOTH frontman Adam "Nergal" Darski was asked if there is any truth to the rumors that the band is working on music for a theater play. He responded: "I really don't wanna talk that much about it until we have some truths. There's some stuff happening, but I can't go into any details. It's something that's gonna be pretty big. It's a big deal with some big names and there's a pretty dark story behind it, which is worldwide known, because it's a classic. We've been asked to make some music for it and we're trying. We have even recorded something, but it's too early to officially give any details to the public."

Nergal was also asked if he is already making plans for the next BEHEMOTH album. He said: "Not really, but I can say that when we were in the studio fucking around with ideas for this theater project, it kind of triggered my creativity and I think I'll be getting into writing mode earlier than I expected that I would. It's still too early, but I think I wanna start doing some work in 2016 and I think it would be really smart and good to have a new album out in 2017. But I know how it is — you say something in an interview, and then [people] say, 'You promised there was gonna be a record in 2017.'"

He continued: "It's been two years since the release of 'The Satanist' and it couldn't have been done better. I love the record and that's why we're playing it and it's the best-selling one and we've gotten the best reviews for it.

"I read an interview with Blackie Lawless [W.A.S.P.] where he said that as soon as the latest record was done and he left the studio, he was already thinking about the next one. I used to be like that, and it's great to wanna outdo yourself and constantly progress, but by doing that, you sometimes forget to live in the present moment. Art is no different, so what I've realized to be aware of is the present moment.

"Today, I'm the happiest artist alive, because I have the strongest fucking album in my hands and I'm super proud and fucking bursting with pride. I don't really wanna pollute my mind with future projects yet, because I wanna fully explore and enjoy the trip while it's happening."

Nergal added: "Everybody's asking and pushing for the next record, but my question is: 'Do you really wanna have a record that is not going to be one hundred percent honest and driven by whatever economic reasons or contracts? Do you really want that?'

"I would hate to see BEHEMOTH always have a new record out every two years. I'm taking my time and I'm telling people to be patient. Let me live my life. I need to learn and I have to write and fall and I have to rise again and collect all the experiences in order to make something that's gonna last longer than one or two seasons. It's like me ripping out my liver and putting it in front of you and go, 'This is it. This is my life.' That's the only art I'm interested in performing."

As previously reported, BEHEMOTH will perform its critically acclaimed current album, "The Satanist", in its entirety on the band's upcoming European run in early 2016. They also plan to bring a brand new exhibition concept, "The Congregation", on tour. The exhibition will be dubbed "A Symbiosis Of Behemoth And Toxic Vision" and will showcase collaborative work between BEHEMOTH and Toxic Vision, the artist that BEHEMOTH has been working closely with over the past few years in terms of stage outfits, music videos, stage/photo props and such. The exhibition is planned to be held in tent, a capsule created to capture an experience on its own and built a solely for this purpose, and was first shown by Toxic Vision (in a similar way) at this year's installment of renowned Inferno festival.

THE EASYBEATS Vocalist STEVIE WRIGHT Dead At 68; Band Heavily Influenced AC/DC

THE EASYBEATS Vocalist STEVIE WRIGHT Dead At 68; Band Heavily Influenced AC/DC

The news that Stevie Wright – solo artist, singer for The Easybeats and, thanks to that band’s immortal single “Friday On My Mind”, Australia’s first international pop star – has died at the age of 68 will not surprise anyone familiar with his story. That does not make his loss any less devastating, reports The Guardian.

Billed as Little Stevie in his early years, Wright was Australia’s prototype rock’n’roll frontman. Some of his moves, not to mention his leering grin, were copied by AC/DC’s Bon Scott. They also found an echo in Chrissie Amphlett, whose band the Divinyls covered the Easybeats’s “I’ll Make You Happy”.

Wright, along with his bandmates, was part of the first wave of migrants to jump-start Australian rock and pop. Born in Leeds in 1947, he emigrated with his family to Australia when he was nine, settling in Villawood. There he met Dutch-born Harry Vanda and Scot George Young (older brother of AC/DC’s Malcolm and Angus), both of whom were living at the local migrant hostel.

Wright wrote lyrics for many of the Easybeats’s early hits, including “She’s So Fine”, “Wedding Ring” and fan favourite “Sorry” – a #1 hit in Australia in 1966 and as tough a record as anything released to that point by the early Kinks, Rolling Stones or the Small Faces.

Sweden’s TEMISTO To Release Debut Album In February; “Above Sacred Ground” Track Streaming

Sweden’s TEMISTO To Release Debut Album In February; “Above Sacred Ground” Track Streaming

Swedish death metal duo, Temisto, will release their debut album via Pulverised Records on February 26th. The new track "Above Sacred Ground" is streaming below.

Temisto's debut is the perfect mix of blasphemy and violence. Death metal with bursts of intricate maze-like passages executed with razor sharp precision, Temisto exudes a zeal for the obscure and unworldly. Formed recently in Stockholm, Sweden, Temisto consists of only two members: Leo Ekström Sollenmo and Sebastian Lindbom Gunnari.

The album was produced and engineered by ex-Morbus Chron frontman Robert Andersson with Elias Scharmer (ex-Abduction, ex-Mutilate) and then painstakingly mastered at Necromorbus Studio by Tore Stjerna (Watain, Desultory, Repugnant, etc). Also featuring the gracefully morbid artwork of Obsessed By Cruelty (Enforcer, Sabbat, Wolfbrigade, etc).

Tracklisting:

“Above Sacred Ground”
“Descent Into Madness”
“Abyssal Depths”
“Medusa”
“The Ritual”
“Succubus”
“Demiurge”
“Bestial Visions”
“Temple Of The Damned”
“Seance”

“Above Sacred Ground”:

Leo was previously the frontman of a death metal act called Whore, releasing a demo-tape back in 2011. Whore split up around the same time and shortly after; Leo, Sebastian and two other guys formed what would later become Temisto. They recorded a two-track demo back in 2013 but eventually decided not to release it officially. By late 2014, the band realized that they had enough material for a full length album and a good opportunity to record it in a studio with Robert and Elias and so they recorded it all during two weeks in February / March of 2015.

METALLICA, BLACK SABBATH, SLIPKNOT, MÖTLEY CRÜE Members Pay Tribute To LEMMY

METALLICA, BLACK SABBATH, SLIPKNOT, MÖTLEY CRÜE Members Pay Tribute To LEMMY

Ozzy Osbourne, Nikki Sixx (MÖTLEY CRÜE), Dave Mustaine (MEGADETH), Corey Taylor (SLIPKNOT), Krist Novoselic (NIRVANA), Duff McKagan (GUNS N' ROSES), Mike Portnoy (THE WINERY DOGS, DREAM THEATER), are among the rock musicians and scores of other artists who reacted on social media to the death of legendary MOTÖRHEAD bassist/singer Lemmy Kilmister.

Lemmy found out that he was suffering from "an extremely aggressive" form of cancer on December 26. He died two days later at home in Los Angeles with his family by his side.

Sixx said on Twitter that he would miss Lemmy, and called him a "(pillar) of dignity."

Osbourne tweeted: "Lost one of my best friends, Lemmy, today. He will be sadly missed. He was a warrior and a legend. I will see you on the other side."

METALLICA wrote: "Lemmy, you are one of the primary reasons this band exists. We're forever grateful for all of your inspiration. RIP"

Taylor said: "My friend died today. We'll all miss you. Your name was Lemmy, and you played Rock n Roll. Rest in Peace, my man."

AEROSMITH

AEROSMITH's BRAD WHITFORD: 'Nothing Ever Surprises Me With' STEVEN TYLER

AEROSMITH guitarist Brad Whitford was interviewed for a recent episode of VH1 Classic "That Metal Show" co-host Eddie Trunk's podcast, "Eddie Trunk Podcast". You can now listen to it at this location. A few excerpts follow (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).

On how AEROSMITH's "Blue Army Tour" went this past summer:

Brad: "It went very well. Unfortunately, it was just a total of, I think, seventeen shows; that's all we did. Steven [Tyler, vocals] has been hunkered down in Nashville quite a bit, 'cause he's been working on his [country solo] record there, so he was unavailable quite a bit of the year staying busy with that project he's doing. And so, he agreed to do these seventeen shows, but that's all we got. And now we're just kind of on a hiatus."

On how long of a break AEROSMITH will have before playing together again:

Brad: "Well, actually, [Steven] recently told us he wasn't gonna be available until next fall, when we have a South American tour. So, until that point, it's kind of wide open. We're not quite sure… I mean, I know what I'm gonna be doing, and I know what Joe's [Perry, guitar] gonna be doing. But Joey [Kramer, drums] and Tom [Hamilton, bass] are kind of getting left sitting out in the wind there a little bit. So I don't know. We'll see."

On whether he is concerned that if Steven's country solo career is a hit, the singer may never come back to AEROSMITH:

Brad: "We're not getting any younger. Yeah, he could have great success with this thing and maybe wanna take it out on the road and do a more extensive tour. But that's Steven. Nothing ever surprises me with him. He's very unpredictable like that sometimes. So we'll see. I hope it's a hit for him. It'll be great for AEROSMITH."

On whether he thinks AEROSMITH will make another studio album:

Brad: "I honestly don't know. I really don't know. I know that… Like I say, Joe and I are… you know, we're in the trenches digging away. We're certainly capable of sitting down with the rest of the guys and writing music. It's just… If that happens, great, But, again, I'm not gonna hold my breath. I don't know. I really don't know."

On whether he would be happy if 2012's "Music From Another Dimension!" turned out to be AEROSMITH's final studio album:

Brad: "Not really. I, myself, wanted to approach that album… and I couldn't get anybody to go along with me. I said, 'Let's go record this the same way we recorded [1975's] 'Toys In The Attic' and [1976's] 'Rocks', which was sixteen-track, basically live, performances. And AEROSMITH is such a good band that I wanted to basically record the band live, 'cause we play so well together. And nobody — including my producer — would go along with that. I was just, 'Man, what is wrong with these guys?' I couldn't get anybody to jump onboard with that idea. That's the one thing I hate about Pro Tools: you can use it as a tape machine or you can use it as just this crutch. 'Oh, everything will be on the grid. It's so easy to edit.' I said, 'Was it so tough to edit in the old days?' I mean, what the fuck?"

FLOOR JANSEN Can Be

FLOOR JANSEN Can Be 'A Hundred Percent Herself' In NIGHTWISH

Spark TV, which is part of the Czech monthly magazine Spark, conducted an interview with NIGHTWISH keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen and lead singer Floor Jansen on December 7 in Prague, Czech Republic. You can now watch the chat below.

Asked if he thinks NIGHTWISH is at its "highest level" right now, Tuomas responded: "Personally, I think that when it comes to the chemistry of the band and the music in itself, yes, I really think so. Playing 'The Greatest Show On Earth' live and seeing all the screens and the pyros and the whole show, that really is the peak of the career of the band."

Regarding what has changed for her since she joined NIGHTWISH, Floor said: 'Well, I mean, everything. [Laughs] Everything changed. But I find myself in a group where I can be a hundred percent myself. I feel appreciated. I feel I can be as funny as I think I am, and it matches with the humor of the rest of the guys. We can laugh about each other — silly jokes all the time — which is great; you need to feel that in a group. [You] feel confident that you can play these songs as they should [be played], tell the story as they should. Those things, yeah, they were there from the get-go when I joined, but we really grew into the next level, I think. And what Tuomas talked about [earlier in the interview], it feels there's something going on in the group and the vibe and everything that's just really, really great, and, yeah, it's a great magic to be a part of."

NIGHTWISH's "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" world tour kicked off in April this year in North America and the band has played sold-out shows in the U.S., Canada, South America and throughout Europe. The 2016 leg of the tour sees the band head to Australia, Asia and North America once again with a main-stage slot also announced for Donington's Download festival in June.

NIGHTWISH recently released a strictly limited (no reprints!) special tour edition of its current album, "Endless Forms Most Beautiful". The tour edition comes with a bonus DVD of live performances, documentary footage and promo videos as well as a huge photo gallery.

NIGHTWISH has announced a 26-date headlining tour of North America for 2016, launching in Sayreville, New Jersey on February 19, hitting six Canadian cities plus Pittsburgh, Anaheim, and New Orleans, then closing out in Tampa, Florida on March 23. Support on the tour will come from Dutch symphonic metallers DELAIN.

"Endless Forms Most Beautiful" was made available on March 27 in Europe and March 31 in the U.S. via Nuclear Blast.
