SLASH, DUFF MCKAGAN, MATT SORUM, ROBERT TRUJILLO Perform At LEMMY

SLASH, DUFF MCKAGAN, MATT SORUM, ROBERT TRUJILLO Perform At LEMMY's 70th-Birthday Party; Pro-Shot Video Highlights

Professionally filmed video highlights of MOTÖRHEAD frontman Lemmy's 70th birthday party, which was held on December 13 at the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, California, can be seen below (clip directed and produced by Robert John and Greg Olliver).

The following musicians performed at the event, among others:

Slash (GUNS N' ROSES)Duff McKagan (GUNS N' ROSES)Matt Sorum (GUNS N' ROSES)Gilby Clarke (GUNS N' ROSES)Robert Trujillo (METALLICA)Charlie Benante (ANTHRAX)Scott Ian (ANTHRAX)Zakk Wylde (BLACK LABEL SOCIETY)Steve Jones (SEX PISTOLS)Steve VaiBilly Duffy (THE CULT)Chris Jericho (FOZZY)Doug Pinnick (KING'S X)Franky Perez (APOCALYPTICA)Sebastian Bach (SKID ROW)Whitfield Crane (UGLY KID JOE)Bob Kulick (MEAT LOAF, ALICE COOPER)Billy IdolPearl Aday (daughter of actor/musician Meat Loaf, MOTOR SISTER)

Also making an appearance on stage during the event was Lemmy's son Paul Inder.

Lemmy, whose actual birthday falls on December 24, recently said that that he was sick of being asked when he's going to die.

Lemmy has dealt with some serious health issues, forcing the indulgent rock legend to scale back on alcohol and kick his cigarette habit. Though Lemmy has made some positive steps forward, he has been struggling with poor health in recent months, leading to MOTÖRHEAD's touring schedule being disrupted.

But the rock icon claims that he is doing just fine and was people to stop asking about his health.

He told Classic Rock: "I'm sick of the fucking, 'Are you going to die?' line of questioning. It's getting really old, that question. I’m alright. I'm going out there and doing my best.

"I have good days and bad days but mostly I've been doing alright. The last tour of the States was very good."

Lemmy, who will be 70 years old this month, told Classic Rock he has no intention of retiring.

He said: "It's when you get to 60 when everything starts to go pear-shaped. Everyone thinks that becoming an older guy is easy, but you never consider it fully. It comes as quite a shock. But the thing is, I don't want to give in to it."

Lemmy previously said that he didn't expect to still be here at 30.

"I don't do regrets," he said. "Regrets are pointless. It's too late for regrets. You've already done it, haven't you? You've lived your life. No point wishing you could change it.

"There are a couple of things I might have done differently, but nothing major; nothing that would have made that much of a difference.

"I'm pretty happy with the way things have turned out. I like to think I've brought a lot of joy to a lot of people all over the world. I'm true to myself and I'm straight with people."

Asked if his illness has made him more aware of his own mortality, Lemmy said: "Death is an inevitability, isn't it? You become more aware of that when you get to my age. I don't worry about it. I'm ready for it. When I go, I want to go doing what I do best. If I died tomorrow, I couldn't complain. It's been good."

MÖTLEY CRÜE - Pyrotechnics And The Crüecifly: Behind-The-Scenes On The Final Tour; Video

MÖTLEY CRÜE - Pyrotechnics And The Crüecifly: Behind-The-Scenes On The Final Tour; Video

In this episode of Anatomy Of A Show, Live Nation TV meets up with Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee, and the Mötley Crüe crew on the last leg of The Final Tour to talk about the evolution of their legendary performances.

“We learn about the original vision, pyrotechnics, and all the engineering that goes into Tommy Lee's drum roller coaster: The Mother Fucking Crüecifly.”

“I remember walking down the stairs onto the stage and hardly knowing Tommy and Vince and Mick,” Sixx says, reflecting on Mötley Crüe’s first-ever gig, in West Hollywood on April 24th, 1981. “But at the same time feeling like I’d known them my whole life. Breaking into that first song, I remember just feeling at home.”

Sixx spoke by phone with LAWeekly from backstage at an arena in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Mötley Crüe is nearing the end of The Final Tour, a farewell trek bound by a “cessation of touring agreement,” and culminating in a three-show hometown stand at the Staples Center leading up to the band's December 31st finale.

The same four dudes that will be in Mötley Crüe when the band plays Staples are the same four that played the group’s 1981 Starwood debut: Sixx, frontman Vince Neil, guitarist Mick Mars and drummer Tommy Lee. Of course a lot has happened to those four people in the 34 years since. Stardom, propelled by catchy yet heavy hits like “Looks That Kill”, “Home Sweet Home”. “Girls, Girls, Girls” and “Dr. Feelgood.” Infamy, propelled by epic heroin, coke, booze and groupie consumption, as chronicled in the group’s 2001 page-turner memoir, The Dirt.

Canada’s BOREALIS Streaming Non-Album Track “The Journey” (Prologue)

Canada’s BOREALIS Streaming Non-Album Track “The Journey” (Prologue)

“The Journey” (Prologue), a non-album track from Canadian melodic metallers, Borealis, is streaming below.

Says the band: “Our new album Purgatory was released a half year ago. We thank you so much for its great reception and the amazing feedback. There's one track from the Purgatory sessions that we didn't release yet though. We and our label AFM Records have now decided to upload the song to YouTube, for you to enjoy.”

Earlier this week, Borealis checked in with the following news:

“Hey folks! Purgatory was released earlier this year and to keep things rolling we went back to the studio to record some new music. Today we present to you a cover of "No Easy Way Out", originally performed by Robert Tepper - and well known from being the soundtrack of the movie Rocky IV!”

Purgatory was released on June 19th in Europe, and on July 21st in North America via AFM Records. After the self-released World Of Silence (2008) and 2011’s Fall From Grace (Lion Music/Hydrant Music), with Purgatory the band reaches a whole new level. Their value not only comes from the tasteful instrumentations, but also from Matt Marinelli’s expressive voice which elegantly guides through the twelve songs on Purgatory. Borealis create atmospheric depth like few others are able to. Their partly quite modern guitar riffs merge with classic power metal, progressive elements and a symphonic touch, to build a heavy and intense, yet melodic sound which fans of Evergrey, Kamelot and Nocturnal Rites will embrace to the fullest.

THE BLOODLINE Cover DAMAGEPLAN’s “Save Me”; Free Download Offered

THE BLOODLINE Cover DAMAGEPLAN’s “Save Me”; Free Download Offered

A free download of The Bloodline’s cover of Damageplan’s “Save Me” is now available via the Babbel-Net Podcast #131. Head to this location for details on how to get your free download.

Earlier this year, The Bloodline released a music video for the track “Poisonous,” which comes off their debut offering, We Are One (Another Century). The album is available now digitally and in stores.

Travis Neal (vocals) states : "The track “Poisonous” is basically about someone that is poisonous in nature. A person that is like a parasite, that consumes all that they can before they abandon what’s left of the victim. In the lyrical sense, it’s referenced as a woman, but in reality this can be anyone. Someone that preys upon one’s emotions, feelings, finances or anything that would slowly cripple and destroy one’s confidence, self-pride and total being. I know that everybody that is reading this has met a person like that and can relate to these lyrics in one way or another.

"The music video for “Poisonous” depicts a scenario of a relentless jealous woman that will destroy anything that doesn’t work in her favour. In our case it was the fact that we did not pick her to be in the video from a panel of a total of five women, which in this case all were picked but her. She then takes the frustration out on us one by one to show that she will not except defeat and will repay the act of failure 10 fold. In a sense she makes her way through our video like a plague, consuming and destroying everything in her path.

"I also have to say, I’m pretty damn proud of this record. We worked on this record for about two years, through ups and downs and everything that goes hand in hand with living life and now that it is finished, finalized, pressed and about to be released the feeling of butterflies like being a kid excited about Christmas is definitely the feeling I am getting. There is a lot of truth in this record for me lyrically, so the fact that this vision is finally come to be is pretty awesome. We as a band as well as our team are all in the same feelings and are so very proud to release this to each and every one of you. We hope you enjoy this as much as we all do."

Shaun Glass (Guitars) further comments: "To say We Are One is my favorite album I've ever been a part of making is a understatement. Every song offers the listener a great snap shot of what we are as a band. From the most melodic songs to the balls out heavy stuff it's a journey that we hope you’re addicted too."

QUEEN - Freddie Mercury’s Christmas Toast / “Keep Yourself Alive” Video Streaming

QUEEN - Freddie Mercury’s Christmas Toast / “Keep Yourself Alive” Video Streaming

December 24th, 1975. London’s Hammersmith Odeon. Onstage at this legendary venue, the four members of Queen are bringing to a close a ground-breaking show, transmitted live on BBC TV, and also bringing to a climax the most eventful and exciting year in their careers so far – one that has taken them from the UK to America to Japan, sealing their transition from ambitious upstarts into one of the biggest and most important bands of the era - and beyond.

Forty years later, this groundbreaking show officially takes to the World Stage. On November 20th, Queen - A Night At The Odeon - Hammersmith 1975 is released on CD, DVD, SD Blu-Ray, 2 LP vinyl, Super Deluxe Box Set and digitally through Virgin EMI. As well as a live recording of this legendary gig, the packages also include extra-special bonus features for the Queen fans. Featuring 15 tracks from their first four visionary albums, plus covers of four classic rock’n’roll staples delivered with characteristic panache, A Night At The Odeon - Hammersmith 1975 captures a band in full flight and radiating megawatts of self-confidence.

To celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”, English National Ballet, Royal Academy Of Music and Trinity Boys Choir, all reinterpreted the groundbreaking song, creating their own unique homages to its incredible musical legacy.

Each originally created interpretation highlights the song’s stunning versatility. It provides the perfect soundtrack to a beautifully choreographed piece by English National Ballet’s Soloist, James Streeter and danced by Lead Principal Erina Takahashi and First Soloist, James Forbat.

Streeter describes the inspiration behind his idea as; “As time has passed, Queen and Freddie still live on so strongly in all of us. At the start of the dance, as we stare at what looks like the silhouette of Freddie's statue, a female appears and as she begins dancing around him, with every touch and the endless desire for Freddie, he is slowly brought back to life.”

Charlie Piper, a Royal Academy of Music composition alumnus, composed an arrangement of the song for a string quartet featuring final year students Kate Oswin – violin, Alicia Berendse – violin, Lydia Abell – viola, and Ghislaine McMullin – cello, all of the Behn Quartet. "We initially found the challenge of performing a string quartet arrangement of Bohemian Rhapsody quite daunting; it is such an iconic song and so initially it was difficult to know how to approach it, particularly coming from a classical background. But the moment we got in the practice room it was clear that the music had such a universal message and intensity that we could really tap into, and we could hear Freddie Mercury's voice in our heads as we were playing. We've loved every minute of recording Bohemian Rhapsody and being part of such a great project celebrating its legacy.” - Lydia Abell, The Behn Quartet

Trinity Boys Choir Director, David Swinson, created a choral vocal arrangement with 40 boys from the choir taking part in the recording. “We felt hugely privileged to be invited to present our version of this rock classic but we also felt a weight of responsibility.” said David. “It is impossible to improve on the original so our intention was to demonstrate our love for the song with our enthusiasm. The lyrics are extraordinarily powerful and thoughtful and we also hope that by having them sung by young voices, they will be heard afresh by audiences.”

“Bohemian Rhapsody” was Queen's first ever #1 single and the 1975 UK Christmas #1 holding the top position for nine weeks. It is the first song ever to get to #1 in the UK twice with the same version, and is also the only single to have been Christmas #1 twice with the same version. The second was upon its re-release (as a double A-side single with “These Are the Days of Our Lives”) in 1991 following Mercury's death, staying at number one for five weeks, eventually becoming the UK's third best-selling single of all time.

Freddie wrote the whole song – including the composite harmonies – on telephone books and scraps of paper. Today, it is still one of the world’s most well known and well loved songs, continuing to top ‘favourite song’ opinion polls and be discovered by new generations of music fans over and over again. Queen's A Night At The Odeon album is out now. Recorded at the band’s legendary 1975 Christmas Eve show, the album features the first ever live recording of “Bohemian Rhapsody” alongside 15 other live tracks from their first four visionary albums.

Twenty Four Hours by Excruciation

After fast and furious seven years from 1984 to 1991 their sheer aggression forced Excruciation to take a rest. In 2005 all original members rejoined forces unleashing doom, death and mayhem again on stage. Re-energized and re-inspired by their sudatory live performances, Excruciation focused on the first full length album ever, Angels To Some, Demons To Others, released in early 2007. It was followed by [t]horns in 2009 and in doing so re-established the bands status once again.

2012 saw the re-release of Excruciation’s early works Last Judgement and First Assault on vinyl by the Italian cult label F.O.A.D. Records and a live recording from 1987 being released on tape by The Ritual Productions from the Netherlands, who also released [t]horns on vinyl in 2013.

Following in 2014 the new record [g]host crawled up the spine, critically well acclaimed and gaining several rewards as “Album Of The Month”.  Next step deeper into darkness will be the album [c]rust to be released by WormholeDeath Records in collaboration with the bands own label Auric Records. On [c]rust, Excruciation will forge their versatile influences ranging from 80s dark wave and crustcore to old school black, death and doom metal into a new piece of extreme metal.

Ex-IRON MAIDEN Singer BLAZE BAYLEY:

Ex-IRON MAIDEN Singer BLAZE BAYLEY: 'Infinite Entanglement' Album Artwork Unveiled

British heavy metal vocalist Blaze Bayley (IRON MAIDEN, WOLFSBANE) will release his eighth solo album, "Infinite Entanglement", on March 1, 2016. The cover artwork for the CD has just been unveiled and can be seen below.

Speaking to Rock-Radio UK last month, Bayley stated about the upcoming effort: "It's a concept album. My first solo album was influenced by science fiction and a lot of my favorite books and also things that are happening in science fiction and artificial intelligence — with 'Silicon Messiah'; that was my first one. And then I did a full concept album with my second solo album called 'Tenth Dimension'. This follows on, really, from both of those albums, some of the ideas that I had back then, as well as some of the things that are happening in quantum physics; I've become more interested in that. So, using that, really, it's a story about someone who doesn't know if they're human. And I'm writing a book, and the album is based on the things that happen in the book."

He added: "All the fans that I've spoke to and told them about the concept and the idea, they all seem really into it. So I'm very excited."

Regarding the musical direction of his upcoming disc, Blaze said: "I'm not really limiting myself on this album. So there are elements of music that are the same as my first two solo albums, and also of my last album, and of my acoustic album."

He continued: "We've got most of the album finished. I've still got some lyrics that I've left open, but most of it's finished. And now it's listening through to these demos from rehearsals and going through those lyrics and checking them and making sure that they're not embarrassing, and all of that, and then we start recording on the 1st of December."

Bayley also talked about how he is getting his hardcore fans involved in the making of his new album. He said: "I had an idea for a song. Because it's a concept, there's a certain part of the story where my central character is in a dream, and he doesn't quite know what he's hearing. And it's messages from his past, and it's people saying, 'Where are you?' And so, I thought, well, what I wanted was, not just in English, but in different languages, I wanted this phrase: 'Where are you?' And I thought it might be something that I could involve my fans in, 'cause I need about a hundred people saying 'Where are you?' at different times to create this kind of dream, almost nightmare, and it's an intro to one of the songs on the album. So what I've asked people to do is say the phrase, and I've put a demo of the phrase and a couple of different people saying it, so they know the kind of cadence to use. And they say it in their own language, and then they send me the sample. And the best ones then I'll use in the song on the album. Someone would have to do it, so I thought, 'Well, why not get my fans who actually support me to do it?'"

The 52-year-old Bayley, who was born in Birmingham, was the original frontman in WOLFSBANE, but left in 1994 to join MAIDEN, with whom he recorded two studio albums — 1995's "The X Factor" 1998's and "Virtual XI" — before Bruce Dickinson returned to the group.

Bayley released a career-spanning double-disc collection, "Soundtracks Of My Life", on October 31, 2013.

The singer's latest studio album, "The King Of Metal", was issued in March 2012.

Video: MEGADETH Guitarist KIKO LOUREIRO Performs Acoustic Version Of

Video: MEGADETH Guitarist KIKO LOUREIRO Performs Acoustic Version Of 'Silent Night' For Christmas

Video footage of MEGADETH's latest addition, Brazilian guitarist Kiko Loureiro, best known for his work with ANGRA, performing an acoustic version of of the popular Christmas carol "Silent Night" can be seen below.

In a recent interview with The Irish Sun, MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustane was full of praise for Loureiro. He said: "A lot of times guitarists won't know how to add to something — they'll put something in there that's kind of like tits on a bull, unnecessary. Kiko came in and immediately started making some really good suggestions that we applied [to MEGADETH's new album, 'Dystopia']. When he first came in, I knew he had the ability but I didn't know if the songwriting technique and talent was going to show up this early on."

He continued: "What was great about the suggestions that Kiko made was that they weren't just guitar ones — he made a bass part in a song called 'Me Hate You' [that made it] really come along. In fact, that was one of the songs where he made a huge melodic contribution in the chorus and I said, 'Man, this sounds like something.'"

According to Dave, Kiko possesses all the elements that are required to become part of a legendary metal act like MEGADETH.

"For me — really simply stated — if you want to be a musician, that's one thing. If you want to be a rock star, that's another," Mustaine said. "But if you want to be legendary, you need to have three very important components: you need to have ability, you need to have appearance, and you need to have attitude. Without all three of those things, it's kind of like trying to have a three-legged milk stool without three legs — it's just not going to work."

He continued: "I found with Kiko, his ability was astronomical, with his attitude he was very confident in what he did — there's a difference between confidence and arrogance. In appearance, he was very classy and very subdued on the street, but up on stage he totally takes command of his performance. When he came up to Nashville to visit with me, I didn't even have him play for the majority of the day he was there. I just wanted to hang out with him and it's been a really long time since I hung out with a guitar player before I hired him. Usually I would listen to how he played and then I'd go, 'OK, we'll work it out.' I didn't want to do that again. Hanging out with Kiko, and having lunch and kicking back and talking music was all I needed — I knew he was the right guy."

In addition to Mustaine and Loureiro, MEGADETH's current lineup includes bassist David Ellefson and LAMB OF GOD drummer Chris Adler.

MEGADETH's fifteenth studio album, "Dystopia", will be released on January 22, 2016. The follow-up to 2013's "Super Collider" was recorded earlier in the year in Nashville, Tennessee and was mixed by Josh Wilbur, who has previously worked with LAMB OF GOD, ALL THAT REMAINS and GOJIRA.

DAVID COVERDALE:

DAVID COVERDALE: 'I Have No Desire To Hang Up My Rock And Roll Sneakers Just Yet'

WHITESNAKE frontman David Coverdale says that he has changed his mind about retiring, explaining that the last few months of being on the road with his current band have "re-energized" him and inspired him to work on new music.

WHITESNAKE is touring in support of its twelfth studio album, "The Purple Album", which was released in May via Frontiers Music Srl. The effort is billed as "a re-imagination of classic songs from Coverdale's time as the lead singer for DEEP PURPLE's Mark III and Mark IV studio albums." Coverdale was DEEP PURPLE's frontman from late 1973 to early 1976 and sang on the albums "Burn", "Stormbringer" and "Come Taste The Band".

Speaking to Macedonia's Metropolis Radio, Coverdale stated about what it has been like to perform classic PURPLE material after so many years (hear audio below): "The songs don't feel old when we perform them. Yesterday, I was listening to some of the live recordings from the U.S. tour, and they're fucking amazing. This band is great. They play WHITESNAKE music, of course, fantastic, but they play DEEP PURPLE music fantastic. It's definitely even more so than on the record. It's very powerful and you can tell the musicians are enjoying themselves and you can see it and you can hear it. And hopefully you can feel it too."

David went on to explain that "The Purple Album" was originally going to mark the end of his recording career but has since turned out to be the catalyst for the new WHITESNAKE band to work on new material. He said: "Well, it's interesting, because when I was mixing 'The Purple Album' with my co-producer Michael McIntyre and Reb [Beach, WHITESNAKE guitarist], it felt to me…You know, I was 63 years old, and I'm going, 'Man, how long do I have to do this? This would be a perfect closure for me — to finish as I started.' But it's just kind of… In essence, it's re-energized me. I still write new music. We'll be recording some new music next year. But it's just revitalized me… re-renergized. That's all I can say. So any ideas that I had six months ago of retiring… I was totally honest, when I was making interviews, that I thought, you know, 'This is probably it.' But I had an incredibly good time on this U.S. tour with my musicians. It was incredible."

He continued: "It was very important to us not just to… An amazing discovery for me, when I rediscovered this music, was how fucking incredible DEEP PURPLE was. 'Cause I'm not a nostalgic guy. I don't listen to this music all the time; not at all. I had to reintroduce myself to these songs. And it wasn't a situation of just recreating them; it was a situation of reinventing some of them. There was not one moment that I said to any of my musicians, 'I want you to play this like Ian Paice.' 'I want you to play this like Tommy Bolin or Glenn Hughes.' The musicians, starting with Tommy Aldridge on drums, came in and made their individual statement on these songs. Everybody contributed to this project in the most positive way, and even now that we've been performing these songs, it's even better than when we were recording them. And it just makes it more inspiring to look at the future for new stuff, with these guys. They are fabulous musicians, great people. I have no desire to hang up my rock and roll sneakers just yet."

WHITESNAKE's new touring lineup — David Coverdale (vocals), Joel Hoekstra (guitar), Reb Beach (guitar), Michael Devin (bass), Tommy Aldridge (drums) and Michele Luppi (keyboards) — made its live debut on May 28 at Northern Quest Casino in Airway Heights, Washington.

PURPLE classics revamped for "The Purple Album" include "Stormbringer", "Lady Double Dealer", "Soldier Of Fortune" and "Sail Away". The deluxe edition of "The Purple Album" features two bonus tracks, four music videos and a "Behind The Scenes" featurette on the recording of the album.

COREY TAYLOR: Prospect Of DONALD TRUMP Presidency

COREY TAYLOR: Prospect Of DONALD TRUMP Presidency 'Is Scaring Me'

SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR singer Corey Taylor told RollingStone.com in a new interview that he finds it hard to believe that Donald Trump is running for the highest office in the U.S. Taylor said: "I can remember when [former KKK Grand Wizard] David Duke ran for president, and people scoffed at him. It was a joke. Like, how do you even consider the fact that you've got a shot at this? And now here comes Trump. And just because he's a fucking talking head on television, people are taking him seriously. Between that and the fact that he is appealing to some crazy fucking fear in the conservative wing of America, it is scaring me, to be honest. The Republicans need to fucking disavow him if they want to be taken seriously at all — not only by middle-of-the-road America, but by the rest of the fucking world."

Asked if he is "feeling" Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders, Corey said: "Bernie's the one who's got my interest. Everything about Hillary seems prepackaged and planned. Obviously, I don't know her as a person, but everything about her seems forced. Bernie Sanders, however, just doesn't give a shit. And that is so fucking refreshing. That dude has balls the size of church bells. I think if it came down to the debate, Sanders would shred Trump. Shred him. And I think he's got 10 years on Trump."

He continued: "And Bernie seems like he believes in what he's saying; he's trying to bring people together instead of pull them apart. And between Paris, San Bernardino, Black Lives Matter, this country is coming apart at the seams and we don't need someone ripping us apart. We need someone to bring us together."

After being told by a Des Moines radio station this past September that the country could be moving toward a Trump presidency, Taylor replied: "It ain't the direction I'm moving. I'm emigrating… England's way too expensive. So I might end up in Guam or something. I'll just build a hut. Belize. There are tons of islands in Belize that you can buy."

Taylor published his third book, "You're Making Me Hate You: A Cantankerous Look At The Common Misconception That Humans Have Any Common Sense Left", on July 7.

The book acts as a commentary on society and pop culture said to be in the style of the late George Carlin.

Former EMMURE Members Launch New Band

Former EMMURE Members Launch New Band

Bassist Mark Davis, lead guitarist Jesse Ketive, rhythm guitarist Mike Mulholland and drummer Adam Pierce have left EMMURE (pictured) and formed a new band. They will soon be in search of a frontman that shares their vision.

Regarding the latest split in the EMMURE ranks, Davis tells AltPress.com: "The four of us made the decision to leave the band pretty much immediately after finishing our set on September 9 in Russia. It was our first string of shows back (Ghostfest in Leeds, and two headlining shows in Russia) since taking most of spring and all of summer off to allow Frankie's [Palmeri] vocal cords to heal, which he injured during the 'Stronger Than Faith' tour. We all expected to come back to a refreshed, productive and positive work environment, but that was not the case."

He continues: "We had no plans to 'dismantle' prior to actually doing it. We did, however, have plans for a new album and new label. After Russia, we were supposed to go to Japan for shows, and then come back home and get to work. Since then, we've just been waiting for the announcement to happen so that we can move on with our lives and our careers in music."

Speaking about the new band formed by ex-EMMURE members, Davis says: "[We] are currently working on material for an unnamed/un-fronted project. It is in the early stages but progressing quickly, and we will be ready to find a singer to fit the sound of the band soon. And as far as the sound goes, it's still going to be us playing our instruments the way that we love to, but in a new, refreshed environment."

He concludes: "The most important thing I have to say about all this is that there is no time or room for negativity in life. If someone is bringing you down or holding you back from your full potential, it's time to cut them out, no matter how much you may love them."

EMMURE's latest full-length album, "Eternal Enemies", was released in April 2014 via Victory Records.

DORO Has Some

DORO Has Some 'Heavy' And 'Really Fast' Songs In The Works For Next Album

EMP Live TV recently conducted an interview with German metal queen Doro Pesch. You can now watch the chat below.

Asked about the progress of the songwriting sessions for the follow-up to her 2012 album "Raise Your Fist", Doro said: "We are in the middle of songwriting. We recorded a couple of songs already, some really good songs, I think. And one single I wanna put out maybe in two months, and it's called 'Love's Gone To Hell'. We are just about to do a video — like, a beautiful video — and we're just checking it out, how we can do it, because I wanna do something really, really high quality, not cheap stuff. So 'Love's Gone To Hell', that's the first new song. And we have some heavy songs in the making, some really fast songs. I sang it in New York and I just got the mix, and I think it sounds pretty good… The new record, I'm excited about it, but it probably will take another year [to complete]."

Pesch launched a Kickstarter campaign to help produce a high-quality video for "Love's Gone To Hell".

A teaser for the upcoming clip is available below (filmed and edited by Patrick von Schuckmann of www.rock-it-tv.de).

"Raise Your Fist" boasted guest appearances by MOTÖRHEAD's Lemmy Kilmister and OZZY OSBOURNE/FIREWIND guitarist Gus G., and artwork by British artist and longtime Doro collaborator Geoffrey Gillespie.

ZAKK WYLDE Is Putting Finishing Touches On

ZAKK WYLDE Is Putting Finishing Touches On 'Book Of Shadows' Follow-Up

BLACK LABEL SOCIETY leader and former OZZY OSBOURNE axeman Zakk Wylde says that he is putting the finishing touches on "Book Of Shadows Volume II" for an early 2016 release. The effort, which will be made available on the 20th anniversary of the arrival of the original "Book Of Shadows" album, will be followed by a world tour to support that side of Zakk's music.

Speaking to the Phoenix New Times, Zakk said: "For the 'Book Of Shadows II' record, we ended up having about 40 basic tracks we put down. So it is a matter of putting lyrics to them and finishing them up. And right now, I mean, before I was talking to you, I was writing music. I'll probably start recording again before Christmas, doing some vocals, then try to knock out as much as I can in January, and the record should be done. It's an immersive-type style for BLACK LABEL. You know, acoustic, piano, but electric guitar in there as well."

Released in 1996, and reissued by Spitfire in 1999 with the bonus disc containing "Evil Ways" (the Japanese bonus track from the album's original release), "The Color Green" and "Peddlers of Death" (an acoustic version of a track that appeared on BLACK LABEL SOCIETY's "Sonic Brew"), "Book Of Shadows" showed a different side of Zakk's songwriting output, with Wikipedia describing it as "an introspective and mostly acoustic [effort] recalling many of the lighter moments from his previous project, PRIDE & GLORY, as well as classic folk rock artists such as Neil Young."

In an interview with Rough Edge, Zakk stated about the creation of the original "Book Of Shadows" album: "The thing is that I had all these tunes from [OZZY OSBOURNE's] 'Ozmosis' record, you know. Aside from writing all the fuckin' heavy shit because at the time we were doing 'My Jekyll Doesn't Hide' and the 'Perry Mason' stuff. And then 'Thunder Underground', just like fuckin' pure riff fuckin' music. So, aside from doing that, I always had acoustic around because it's just great for your chops. You know, you sit down and jam on an acoustic when you pick up an fuckin' electric guitar it's like fuckin' lightning."

He continued: "So I'd be jammin' on an acoustic all the time and I'd have all these ... I'd just be dickin' around writing songs all the time. So whether I'm writing riffs all the time or I'm writing regular flat-out songs, I just had all these tunes and I was like, man, it's like fuckin' beer-drinking music at the end of the night, you know? I had all these tunes lying around and that's when Geffen… they asked me to do another album. I tried to get out of it, because I owed them, like, three records when I signed with them, so we did the PRIDE & GLORY thing and then [A&R guru John] Kalodner left and went to Sony and it was just like fuckin'… I didn't know what the fuck was going on. Let's put it this way: They wanted me there about as much the Pope wanted to have lunch with fuckin' Anton LaVey, man. Which was basically not gonna ever fuckin' happen. The whole thing was, like, 'We gotta get outta here, man.' So we did the 'Book Of Shadows' thing."

Zakk added: "I tried to get off the label but it was more cost effective for them to have me go in an do another fuckin' record, so we ended up doing the record and after that, Ozzy called and said, 'Dude, you wanna do this 'Ozmosis' record?' so I was jammin' with... Actually, I got it backwards here. Fuckin' 'Book Of Shadows' was after the 'Ozmosis' record. In between jammin', we'd go back to trackin' the stuff and I'd go back to this bar that was right next to the hotel and I'd be in there until, like, six in the morning drinking with everybody. They'd be, like, 'Dude, go get your fiddle and play us a fuckin' tune.' So I'd be jammin' for 'em — I'd be playing all this new shit for 'em. You know, that's pretty much how that record came about."

KIX

KIX's BRIAN FORSYTHE Confirms Bandmate RONNIE YOUNKINS Went Back To Rehab

KIX guitarist Brian Forsythe has confirmed that his bandmate Ronnie Younkins went back to rehab earlier this year to receive treatment for alcohol addiction. Speaking to Bob Suehs of Rock N Roll Experience, Forsythe said (see video below): "[Ronnie returned to rehab] for a little bit — for a month and a half, two months. He did kind of a refresher course. He had been sober for a long time and then had this relapse, so we had to stick him back in there just to get him back on track."

Forsythe also talked about his own struggles with substance abuse, explaining that "what brought me down to the bottom was heroin and cocaine." He eventually got sober by spending fifteen days in a Los Angeles jail and then completing a rehab program followed by a stay at a sober living house. He described his two-week stint in jail as "definitely a wake-up call."

Asked if there are any plans for KIX to record a new studio album to follow 2014's "Rock Your Face Off", Brian said: "It's been talked about. I mean, we haven't really worked on anything. It's not gotten past the discussion stage so far."

KIX's seventh album, "Rock Your Face Off", was released in August 2014 via Loud & Proud Records. The band's first collection of new music in two decades was described in a press release as "everything fans know and love them for: a raucous, roaring and real display of rock 'n' roll."

"Rock Your Face Off" featured most of KIX's original lineup: Steve Whiteman (vocals), Brian "Damage" Forsythe (guitar), Ronnie "10/10" Younkins (guitar), Jimmy "Chocolate" Chalfant (drums), with the exception of Mark Schenker (bass). KIX gracefully eased back into the public consciousness in 2008. After sold-out hometown gigs, the quintet hit the stage at Rocklahoma in front of over 20,000 people, venturing out of the Mid-Atlantic for the first time in 13 years. The band was hailed by many music web sites and attendees as "Best Performance" at the festival, where they played alongside SAMMY HAGAR, ALICE COOPER, TESLA, QUEENSRŸCHE, RATT, and more. After capturing their fiery reunion on 2012's "Live In Baltimore" CD and DVD, the band agreed to enter the studio once again.

Italy’s BRAINDAMAGE Sign With My Kingdom Music; New Album Due In April

Italy’s BRAINDAMAGE Sign With My Kingdom Music; New Album Due In April

My Kingdom Music announce that they have signed a piece of Italian Metal history, Braindamage. The label will release their brand new album, titled The Downfall, in April.

The new album is a futurist, abrasive and visionary output in the best avantgardish metal tradition of Voivod and Killing Joke, appealing to the modern-ish last decade’s growing post-thrashy audience.

Andrea Signorelli, bass player and vocalist of the band since 1988, leaves this comment: “The agreement between our band and My Kingdom Music is a new start for us. It was a long time that we didn't feel such an enthusiasm and The Downfall is simply the testimony of this great time we are spending with the new lineup that coincides with a great creative moment. The result is an avveniristic musical experience... so expect for something really shattering and upsetting!"

Updates to follow.

WINTER’S VERGE Release IV Album

WINTER’S VERGE Release IV Album

Winter's Verge formed in the year 2003 on the small but majestic island of Cyprus. Their prevailing sound consisting of epic atmospheric, bold riffs and authoritative vocals has gained them fans worldwide, secured them spots on multiple Europe tours and international album releases. IV is their fifth studio album.

Winter's Verge was founded by frontman George Charalambous and master of the keys Stefanos Psillides in the city of Nicosia. Their lineup gradually became bigger with guitarist Pericles Mallopoulos joining the ranks and from that point on they new exactly what their musical destiny was.

Their latest addition to their discography, titled IV, will secure this legacy for the band. On this album you can hear the big symphonic stylings of Nighwish, the Stratovarius-esque melodies and the powerfulness of Blind Guardian.

These sets will span the band's entire career, showcasing the comprehensive evolution, from their primitive beginnings into the seminal, epic outfit of today, as the band's ever evolving, sonic palette has become a genre-defying template for underground music over the last three decades, avoiding genre classification.

Neurosis has selected special opening acts to open this show, today confirming the participation of longtime Detroit hardcore punk legends, Negative Approach, as well as extremely influential Salem-based punk/metal experimenters, Converge. Canada’s BOREALIS Streaming Cover Of ROBERT TEPPER’s “No Easy Way Out”; Audio

Canada’s BOREALIS Streaming Cover Of ROBERT TEPPER’s “No Easy Way Out”; Audio

Canadian melodic metallers, Borealis, check in with the following news:

Tracklisting:

"Past The Veil"
"From The Ashes"
"The Chosen One"
"Destiny"
"Darkest Sin"
"My Peace"
"Place Of Darkness"
"Welcome To Eternity"
"Sacrifice"
"Rest My Child"
"Purgatory"
"Revelation"

"From The Ashes":

German and English versions of the new music video for “Dunkelheit” are streaming below.

Says the band: “The videos for “Dunkelheit” and “Darkness” are a visual journey into the abyss of the human soul. Naked, cold and brutal. Accompanied with the probably darkest track that Varg ever unleashed upon mankind!"

Although Varg are more monstrous than ever, Das Ende Aller Lügen is perhaps one of the best examples that the calm always comes before the storm. These calming moments prepare the listener for the coming thunder.

Tracklisting:

“Der große Diktator”
“Das Ende aller Lügen”
“Revolution”
“Streyfzug”
“Achtung”
“Dunkelheit”
“Totentanz”

AVULSED Announce New Drummer Arjan Van Der Wijst

AVULSED Announce New Drummer Arjan Van Der Wijst

After announcing the departure of drummer Erik Raya on December 20th, Spanish death metal veterans Avulsed now announce their new drummer, Dutch percussionist Arjan Van Der Wijst. This 35-year old musician relocated to Madrid (Spain) in 2005 and is  also the drummer in black/death metal band Frozen Dawn, who released their second album through Xtreem Music in March 2014.

Arjan is a very serious and talented drummer that has been playing numerous live shows during the last 10 years with his former band, as well as occasional session live drumming for Pagan metallers Hordak.

Below you can watch an official video taken from the latest Frozen Dawn album, as well as a live track from May 2013:

As already stated, none of the booked shows for 2016 will be affected with this change of drummer, so Avulsed will be offering their usual crushing live performances as always. Find the band’s tour schedule at this location.

SACRILEGIUM Announce Reunion Concert In Poland

SACRILEGIUM Announce Reunion Concert In Poland

Klub Protokultura and Left Hand Sounds announce the return of Polish black metal legends, Sacrilegium. The first concert in almost 20 years accompanies the upcoming release of the full-length, Anima Lucifera. The event will take place in Klub Protokultura in Gdańsk, Poland on April 2nd. Sacrilegium will be joined by equally special guests, whose names will be revealed soon.

Tickets available from January 10th. Check out a Facebook event page, here.

The upcoming full-length, entitled Anima Lucifera, will be released in the spring of 2016 via Pagan Records – just in time for the 20th anniversary of the release of the ground-breaking Wicher album.

Opening this new chapter in Sacrilegium’s history, a limited edition single, “Angelus”, will be released on December 28th. Sacrilegium in 2015 is still the traditional black metal band we know with a more brutal and aggressive kick but not lacking that unique touch of melancholy.

The single will contain two versions of the title track; an album and demo version. It will also comprise of remixes done by guest artists, including Zenial (experimental music), ROD (folk-dubstep) and Echoes of Yul (post-rock). Check out the single artwork and one of the remixes below.

Angelus is planned to be released in digital format as well as a DigiFile CD edition limited to 500 copies.

FEAR FACTORY

FEAR FACTORY's BURTON C. BELL On Paris Terror Attacks: 'You Can't Let Fear Rule You'

FEAR FACTORY singer Burton C. Bell has commented on the events of November 13 in Paris, France, when more than 129 people were killed in seven coordinated terrorist attacks.

The greatest number of deaths took place at the Bataclan, a French music venue where EAGLES OF DEATH METAL were performing when terrorists began a siege that ended with 89 people in the club either shot to death or killed in explosions.

A number of artists halted their European treks in the wake of the Paris attacks, including LAMB OF GOD, FOO FIGHTERS, DEFTONES and others.

During an interview with Ireland's Overdrive, Bell was asked if the Paris massacre made him and his bandmates consider canceling the remaining dates on their European headlining tour. He responded: "Personally, no. The events in Paris were horrific, and at that point, we were concerned that our shows woud be canceled or postponed, because of those events. We did not want that to happen, because, for selfish reasons, that would [be] very expensive for us, and, more importantly, that would just mean that the people who carried out those cowardly attacks would win. If you let them create the fear that they want us to fear, then they win.

"Yeah, gun violence happens every single day in America; it's almost becoming a commonplace event, which is very sad and is something that we just need to expect in our daily lives. No one expects to get hit by lightning, but they do."

He continued: "You can't let fear of these things prevent you from going outside and living your life. If you fall off your bicycle, will you never get back on it again? You have to keep going with things, because that's what life is. You can't let fear rule you, because you will have no life if you do.

"The Paris attacks were just so awful, and it breaks my heart to even think about it.

"Although we didn't cancel and had no intention of doing so, I can totally understand why other bands did cancel their tours, but that is not FEAR FACTORY."

The attacks in Paris led to a military response by France against the radical Islamic organization ISIS, as French jets bombed a series of targets in Syria.

The murders have stepped up worldwide concern over ISIS, as well as a debate in the U.S. over whether to accept Syrian refugees.

FEAR FACTORY's European trek saw the band playing the "Demanufacture" album in its entirety. They also showcased songs from their new CD, "Genexus", which came out on August 7 via Nuclear Blast.

TRIVIUM Look Back On A Decade Since Landmark Ascendancy Album - "A Melting Pot Of Influences That Probably Shouldn’t Go Together"

TRIVIUM Look Back On A Decade Since Landmark Ascendancy Album - "A Melting Pot Of Influences That Probably Shouldn’t Go Together"

Music Radar recently caught up with Trivium's Matt Heafy and Corey Beaulieu for a look back on the ten years since their landmark album, Ascendancy. Following is an excerpt from the interview.

Q: What do you remember about writing and recording Ascendancy?

Corey: “I joined the band right after I graduated from music university. I had no job and nowhere to live, so I was living out of my car for a while, and then started crashing round Matt’s house. He was still in high school, so once he’d finish his studies we’d all meet at the warehouse and jam for hours. We had nothing else to do but play and write."

“That’s how pretty much all the songs on Ascendancy came about – just some dudes with nothing to do, no fans, no job, no nothing. By the end of that album and beginning of The Crusade, we already had done our first TG cover. I think it was when Matt had more of a bowl cut with short black hair…”

Matt: “Come on! It was a questionable swoop, not a bowl cut. I was about 17 years old and still living at my parent’s house. We just played what we wanted to hear as fans of metal. And all these different sounds began to creep in: death metal, melodeath, trad metal, hardcore… It became a melting pot of influences that probably shouldn’t go together.”
