ARCH ENEMY's ALISSA WHITE-GLUZ On Her Upcoming Solo Album: 'It's A Way For Me To Get My Musical Rocks Off In Any Way That I Want'Alissa White-Gluz says that she is "looking forward to finishing" up her long-awaited solo album.
It was announced in September 2016 that the ARCH ENEMY frontwoman had signed a deal with Napalm Records for the release of her first solo disc, which will feature contributions and collaborations with past and present members of ARCH ENEMY and KAMELOT, as well as MISFITS guitarist Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein.
Alissa offered an update on her solo project during a recent appearance on "The Electric Theater With Clown", the Internet show hosted by SLIPKNOT's M. Shawn "Clown" Crahan.
She said (hear audio below): "With ARCH ENEMY, I basically do screams — I'm growling; that's the type of vocals that I do. But I actually do clean vocals a lot too, and not that many people know that. I've done a lot of guest appearances with other bands and other artists where I use that clean voice, but I don't really use it that much in ARCH ENEMY. So the solo thing is kind of just giving me an outlet to do basically any type of vocal acrobatics that I wanna do, whether it be blues-style singing, which I have a guest thing coming out soon like that, which is pretty cool. Rock singing, power metal singing, opera singing… Basically, the idea is that it's a way for me to kind of get my musical rocks off in any way that I want, and it's separate from ARCH ENEMY. So I don't have to go in and dilute ARCH ENEMY or change what that's about it, 'cause that wouldn't be right either. It's basically something that I kind of just had as this ongoing project that I've been working on any time I had time off from ARCH ENEMY touring, which was basically no time until this year. So I've been working a lot on it this year and recording it at a home studio that I built. And, yeah, so far I really like it, and I'm looking forward to finishing it up."
Alissa also talked about her work with Patreon, a membership platform that connects fans directly with musicians, visual artists, writers, nonprofits and other creators they want to support.
She said: "Luckily — I'm very lucky that I have this — I have a Patreon page that I do, and that's the way that I actually am able to keep in touch with fans. I do virtual meet-and-greets every month. The kind of meet-and-greet that we would normally do in person at every show, I just get to do it in a livestream every month. And I also get to share other music ideas there, poetry, and that motivates me to keep going — keep thinking of new merch ideas, new outfit ideas, collaborations, cover songs. That really, really motivates me, and it's actually an amazing platform for artists right now, because, obviously, none of us can tour right now. And so this allows to maintain that bond with the fans and also stay motivated and stay supported by the fans so that we can keep making music and sustain ourselves until this pandemic is over. So that takes up a good chunk of my time, and I work on that."
Alissa said in a 2017 interview that the idea for a solo project came about as a suggestion from ARCH ENEMY's former lead singer Angela Gossow, who has been managing the band's career for a decade and also oversees Alissa's personal affairs.
"[Angela] was, like, 'Well, you need something. You need something that you can do, because I know you're a workaholic and you're not gonna be able to just sit there like this waiting for the next ARCH ENEMY tour,'" Alissa told France's Duke TV. "And she's totally right — I needed something else to be able to work on. And also, I have a lot of ideas that maybe don't sound like ARCH ENEMY and it would be kind of silly to just force them into ARCH ENEMY."
According to White-Gluz, her debut solo album will be released under the ALISSA banner because she wanted to "keep it simple" and "make it very clear who it is and what it is." In order to make the disc, Alissa "did a huge life overhaul," which included building a studio and investing a lot of time and money into learning how to engineer and record, program drums and improving at playing guitar. "Of course, on the album itself we're gonna have real musicians playing all of these things, but in terms of just getting the style down and the songwriting, it's something that I need to start on my own," she explained to Duke TV.
Alissa went on to say that her solo effort will contain some musical surprises. "It doesn't really sound like ARCH ENEMY — it's pretty different — but I think it's pretty cool," she said. "For example, a song that I'm writing with Oliver [Palotai, keyboards] from KAMELOT doesn't sound like KAMELOT and it doesn't sound like ARCH ENEMY, but it's members of both."
In the Duke TV interview, Alissa also revealed that her solo album will feature contributions from former NEVERMORE guitarist Jeff Loomis, who joined ARCH ENEMY in late 2014, didn't have any of his songwriting ideas included on the latter band's latest album, 2017's "Will To Power".

North Carolina’s AITTALA Signs With Exitus Stratagem RecordsVeteran metallers Aittala (pronounced EYE-tah-la) have signed with Exitus Stratagem Records (ExSR) beginning with the re-release of their fully remastered fourth album, American Nightmare as the band works on their sixth currently untitled studio album.
Hailing from Raleigh, North Carolina, Aittala was initially formed back in 1991 in The Netherlands by lead vocalist / guitarist and band namesake Eric Aittala, the band quickly became an attraction on the early ‘90s Dutch metal scene, sharing the stage with acts such as The Gathering and Sadist amongst others.
Nearly three full decades on, Aittala is taking advantage of the current world situation to work on their new album. As a part of bringing them onboard, ExSR elected to relook and remaster their 2016 release American Nightmare and give it the attention it deserves. This remaster is looking at a release date in early 2021 with a new album expected by the end of 2021. The band's lineup is now completed by bassist Ali Lugo (ex-Dopesick and ex-Age of Reflection) and drummer Gary "Zeus" Smith (The Fifth).
Produced by Eric W Aittala and Mike Schaefer, American Nightmare was recorded at Incognito Studios in Raleigh, NC, mixed by Mike Schaefer at Schaefer Sound Productions and re-mastered by Jason Fisher at ExSR Studio 1A in Fayetteville, NC.

FOO FIGHTERS Release Amazon Original EP 'Live On The Radio 1996'FOO FIGHTERS have released a new Amazon Original EP, "Live On The Radio 1996", available to stream and purchase only on Amazon Music. The four songs that comprise "Live On The Radio 1996" were originally recorded in 1996 as part of the "Rockline" radio show by producer Scott Weiss. Now a digital audio producer for Amazon Music, Weiss recently rediscovered the long-forgotten recordings and, thanks to Bob Coburn and the "Rockline" crew, prepared them for re-release.
The EP features acoustic versions of songs culled from the band's eponymous debut and 1997's "The Colour And The Shape", as well as the non-LP track "How I Miss You". The final song is a never-before-released version of "Wattershed" that features Dave Grohl replacing the song's lyrics with the retelling of a recent trip to Canada, sung in the style of Fred Schneider of THE B-52S.
"The band laughed and then dove in and started to work up the idea. The show would cut away for commercials and [FOO FIGHTERS] would practice the new 'Wattershed' idea," said Weiss of the moment. "The version of 'Wattershed' that would soon be known as 'Water Fred' was born." Fans can read Weiss's full account of the recording session here as a part of People Of Rock And Roll, an ongoing project where fans share personal memories of their FOO FIGHTERS experiences over the years.
The EP arrives as the FOO FIGHTERS celebrate their 25th anniversary as a band. Last week, they performed their 1999 hit "Learn To Fly" from The Troubadour in Los Angeles on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" The band was scheduled to mark their quarter century milestone with "The Van" tour, which was canceled in August due to COVID-19. Recently, the band announced a new line of merch offerings commemorating each of their studio albums released during their career.
To listen to "Live On The Radio 1996 (Amazon Original)", Amazon Music listeners can simply ask, "Alexa play the Amazon Original by the FOO FIGHTERS" in the Amazon app for iOS and Android and on Alexa-enabled devices. In addition to the FOO FIGHTERS, Amazon Music listeners can access hundreds of Amazon Originals featuring both emerging and established artists across numerous genres, available to stream and purchase only on Amazon Music.
"Live On The Radio 1996" track listing:
01. How I Miss You (Amazon Original)
02. Up In Arms (Amazon Original)
03. For All The Cows (Amazon Original)

All Female-Metal Band CONQUER DIVIDE Returns With New Song 'Chemicals'CONQUER DIVIDE, the all-female metal band formerly signed to Artery, has returned with a brand new video and song, "Chemicals".
The group said in a statement: "We know everyone's been dying to hear what we've been up to, and the short answer is that we had just taken a bit of a break to focus on our personal lives. We had a lot of time to reflect on what direction we wanted to go in next. I think collectively our musical tastes have all evolved. We still wanted to feel heavy and anthemic but it was important for us to step outside of our comfort zone moving forward."
About the new track, which was produced by Joey Sturgis and Tyler Smyth, CONQUER DIVIDE said: "'Chemicals' is about addiction from the perspective of an artist. More often than not, addiction can get swept under the rug or is almost encouraged in some circumstances by the people who are the closest."
The group continued: "Sometimes, being on the road can be the absolute worst place for an artist struggling with addiction, yet they are encouraged to keep going. Those around them don't always see or read the signs and we end up losing so many talented musicians to overdoses or mental health issues that frequently accompany addiction. This happens everywhere from rock and metal music to the highest echelons of pop. This song talks about how you can turn a blind eye, but at the end of the day, that makes you part of the problem.
"For the music video, we wanted to show that through textures," the band added. "You see the artist performing at the top of their game but there is clearly something going on beneath the surface. They are going through the motions but they are a shell of their former selves where the addiction has taken over to the point it's impossible to ignore visually. But others choose to pretend everything is normal. Our director Jeb Hardwick did an awesome job with that and I can't speak highly enough of his work and work ethic. This was our first video in front of a green screen and it was a really cool experience. Since we all have to fly to a central location when we got together — as we are scattered across the U.S. and Canada — we were very lucky to be able to film it before the pandemic hit."
Singer Kiarely Castillo said: "I was was inspired by Max Bemis, who wrote several AMAZING albums for SAY ANYTHING and recently resigned because he felt like fans only liked him when he was unwell and no one liked his music when he was sober. There are many ways to interpret this song. The most important thing is that fans connect to it and it helps them in whatever way works for them. What it means to me is different from what it means to other people and I feel like that's the whole point."
CONQUER DIVIDE's self-titled debut album was released in July 2015 via Artery Recordings. 1

NADER SADEK Releases New Track Recorded Inside The Pyramid Of SnefruRenowned Egyptian-American artist, director, and death metal musician Nader Sadek has undraped the official video for "The Serapeum: Polluted Waters." The track - which features vocals recorded inside the pyramid of Snefru in Dahshur, Egypt -- comes by way of the Sadek's The Serapeum EP, set for release November 20.
The Serapeum features principal members Karl Sanders (Nile), Derek Roddy (Serpents Rise), and Mahumud Gecekusu (Perversion), who visited Egypt in 2017 at the invitation of Sadek and Cairometal.net, alongside a host of equally notable guests. Marking Sanders' and Roddy's first ever visit to the ancient land, the EP is named after an ancient Egyptian subterranean burial chamber and reflects the collective's deep inspiration by the grounds explored.
"The Serapeum: Polluted Waters" features Sanders' signature tone on rhythm guitar yet offers a different angle of experimentation from the savage death metal for which Sadek is notorious with the inclusion of eastern harmonies and drones provided by Alex Zubair (Nephelium), and instead of chants, Nancy Mounir, among Egypt's top musical talents, adds the ever haunting theremin to the mix. Dominic "Forest" Lapointe (Augury) plays the low end, and Gecukusu swaps solo spots with Sanders on this version. It's all punctuated by Roddy's staggering drum work along with Sadek's ferocious vocal delivery and his first ever in-studio vocal recording. To complete this musical encounter with the archaeological wonders of Egypt, Sadek recorded the vocals inside the inner chamber of Dahshur's "Red Pyramid."
Comments Sadek, "Every time I think about this project, I literally have to pinch myself. Layers and layers of seeming impossibilities and events only dared conjured by dreams, have manifested themselves into physical reality. Bringing Karl and Derek to Egypt for this project, not to mention Dominic, Shaun [LaCanne of Putride Pile], Ben [Clause of Gorod], Morean [Dark Fortress, Alkaloid], [engineer] Mendel [Bij De Leij], having been brought here via the live shows in Egypt I organized, and of course uniting with my brothers and sister Mahmud, Ahdy [Khairat], Alex, and Nancy, is a miracle in itself. I also managed to sneak audio equipment into the pyramid of Snefru, one of the greatest and first pyramids, and recorded my vocals for an entire song for the very first time there, due to its intentional sound frequency manipulating properties. Drawing inspiration from The Serapeum, whose realization is a far greater mystery than the building of the pyramids, was a testament to the fact that nothing is impossible. Things had a very strange way of aligning themselves."
"I'm really happy to see the release of The Serapeum," notes Sanders. "Nader is an incredible unique visionary multimedia artist and I'm honored and thankful to have had the chance to participate in a project with him. I had such a blast working with Nader, Derek, and Mahmud -- making music with these killer guys was so easy and fun it was like being on vacation. This project was especially memorable for me, as it was my first ever trip to Egypt. It's something I had been yearning to do for a lifetime - to experience firsthand the Epic Grandeur of The Ancients."
"Travel to Egypt, see some killer sights, eat some great food, and write awesome music with Karl, Mahmud and Nader?," adds Roddy, "Sign me up! Great fun and a stellar time."
Mixed and mastered by engineers Mahmud Gecekusu, Mendel Bij De Leij, and Ahdy Khairat, respectively, The Serapeum will be released independently on CD and digitally. Preorder here.

DISTURBED's New Music Will Be 'Blisteringly Angry' And 'Brutal'DISTURBED frontman David Draiman says that the band's new music will be "blisteringly angry" and "brutal."
Draiman, who resides in Hawaii with his wife and their son, discussed DISTURBED's plans for the follow-up to 2018's "Evolution" album during a brand new interview with "Loudwire Nights".
"I am very, very, very much looking forward to writing some more new DISTURBED material at some point, and I can pretty much guarantee it's going to be blisteringly angry," he said (hear audio below). "I'm dying to sink my teeth into new, original, angry, ferocious, brutal material."
This past June, Draiman told Download Festival TV that he has spent some of his downtime during the coronavirus pandemic "having conversations with the other guys in DISTURBED about getting some new material going, and we've got some stuff in its infancy. One song, definitely, that's killer in our back pocket; we just haven't tracked it," he said. "And we've got a few more song ideas, [but] nothing that's been hashed out enough."
Draiman went on to say that making music over the Internet has presented its own set of problems, especially since most of DISTURBED's last couple of albums were composed with the core members in a room together bouncing ideas off each other.
"We kind of need to get back into the rhythm of being able to do stuff like this in Zoom format or online as opposed to in person," he said. "At least it's some kind of real-time connection so that you can be creating together improvisationally to an extent, but there's still issues with audio — it's not as clear as you want it sometimes, there's too much compression and you lose level; it's a challenge — and the vibe isn't there. There's nothing that replaces you being in front of your co-songwriter and being able to feed off each other's energy and create in person."
Last month, DISTURBED released a cover version of Sting's 1993 single "If I Ever Lose My Faith In You".
Back in May, DISTURBED's "The Sickness 20th Anniversary Tour" was postponed until summer 2021 due to the COVID-19 crisis which is sweeping the globe.
Draiman co-wrote the song "King Of Misery" from the Iowa-based rock quartet SAUL, which has just released its debut album, "Rise As Equals", via Spinefarm Records.

"My signature overdrive is exactly what I need to drive my amps to the next level and make some of my favorite frequencies stand out in the mix - especially the pick articulation," says Dino. SEVEN SPIRES / AVANTASIA Vocalist ADRIENNE COWAN Performs Minor Key Black Metal Version Of "Silent Night" (Video)Seven Spires vocalist Adrienne Cowan, who also works with Avantasia, performed a minor key black metal-inspired version of the Christmas classic, "Silent Night". Enjoy....
Adrienne: "Every year for as long as I can remember, I sing this song by candlelight on Christmas Eve together with my parents, grandparents, aunt, and cousins. With the 2020 situation, it seems pretty unlikely that it will happen, so I made my own version to share with you :)
I strongly associate this song with family and reflection of the past year. So, I also ~attempted~ a verse in German since I thought so much of my metal fam in Germany. So strange to not see them at all this year (Hi Sascha and co., I miss you!)
To my knowledge, 'Silent Night' was originally composed by Franz Xaver Gruber in 1818, to lyrics written by Joseph Mohr.
Arrangement and vocals by Adrienne Cowan
Mixed and mastered by Jack Kosto (Seven Spires)
Influenced strongly by Insomnium, Omnium Gatherum, Draconian, and perhaps some atmospheric black metal artists too..."
Seven Spires' second album, Emerald Seas, is a theatrical concept album, and is the prequel to the story of their debut full-length, Solveig. The album follows a lone sea captain on their quest for eternal life while being hunted by an ancient beast and struggling with loneliness, sacrifice, alcoholism, and the unexpected weight that comes with achieving one’s goals. Seven Spires’ signature blend of melancholic beauty and emotional brutality on Emerald Seas is the sonic manifestation of the silent emptiness that chills one's insides when staring across bleak, open waters.

MY RUIN Release The Cathartic Collection 20th Anniversary Album For Free / Pay What You Want DownloadMy Ruin, the brainchild of vocalist Tairie B. Murphy and guitarist Mick Murphy, have checked in with a surprise announcement for Christmas:
"From the moment we met it was magick. We were drawn to each other the same way we were drawn to the music we have created together over the last two decades. For some our music has been hellfire, for others holy water but for us, it has always been cathartic and something we consider sacrosanct.
Our religion is relationships, and this collection of songs represents My Ruin at our most intense. Our most incensed. A vital and volatile, collaborative, heartfelt mix of screaming with spoken word. Fiery passion and furious anger accompanied by huge solos, thick riffs and Southern fried swagger. The master of heaviosity and his patron saint of blasphemy.
The way it was meant to be.
On Christmas Eve 2008 we were married but we began making music together in 2000. To commemorate our 20th anniversary and celebrate the music we have made in My Ruin, we wanted to release something timeless, in loving memory for those who have followed us on our musical journey since the beginning and for those who may discover us at a later date.
Over the years we have been told how much our music has meant to so many and this has always meant so much to us. As an underground band, we have no mainstream, radio friendly greatest hits but we have made music that connects, resonates and offers solace with its catharsis to those who need it. Including us.
The Cathartic Collection is a set of 36 songs which we have remastered and thoughtfully curated into 3 chapters from our extensive discography spanning our 9-album history in My Ruin. Each 12-song chapter represents 3 albums and is introduced by its own spoken word interlude. Our magnum opus begins with a new and a final song which we recorded at our home studio in Knoxville, Tennessee during the pandemic in 2020. 'Sacrosanctity' is a poetically passionate, raw throated and relentless 6-minute metallic lament meant to represent our band, past to present.
CHAPTER I – REBIRTH
Speak & Destroy (1999)
A Prayer Under Pressure of Violent Anguish (2000)
To Britain with Love & Bruises (2001)
CHAPTER II – RESURRECTION
The Horror of Beauty (2003)
The Brutal Language (2005)
Throat Full of Heart (2008)
CHAPTER III – REFLECTION
Ghosts and Good Stories (2010)
A Southern Revelation (2011)
The Sacred Mood (2013)
Although we love each other, it is no secret that we fell out of love with the music industry long ago. From the Devils at record labels to the duplicitous managers, promoters and a few band members who have left us cold & disenchanted along the way. Many of whom invoked the emotions and inspired the songs in this collection of immaculate confessions as well as our need to do it ourselves.
Our way.
While we have made the decision to put My Ruin on a permanent hiatus from touring, we will continue to remain true to ourselves and our music. This includes our side projects and solo recordings which are simply extensions of who we are as artists. Looking back at photos & videos, throughout the highs and lows of being on the road and playing shows over the last 2 decades, there have been many memorable moments together on and off stage with friends & fans of our band all over the world and for that, we are forever grateful.
Thank you for sharing this with us.
As 2020 comes to an end and you journey back with us amid this nostalgic walk through our rock love and listen, we hope you enjoy this free / digital only download and gift to you. Something sacred to scream to. If you choose to donate, we thank you.
May these songs invoke memories of your own and inspire you to speak your truth, trust your heart and never be afraid to turn your trauma into art."

SNAKEYES Release Music Video For New Song "Playing With Armageddon"As a very special gift for these holidays, SnakeyeS, would like to offer fans a brand new single, “Playing with Armageddon”, the title track of the band's new release.
“Playing With Armageddon” was written and recorded during the COVID-19 lockdown. As a breath of fresh air, for the first time in its history, SnakeyeS worked with someone outside the band on this new song: the renowned Danish producer Jacob Hansen, known for his work with artists such as Volbeat, Primal Fear and U.D.O, is responsible of mastering “Playing with Armageddon'' at his very own Hansen Studios.
The band started by Jose Pineda, Justi Bala and Carlos Delgado (from Sphinx, the recently reunited Spanish power metal giants) and Romanian singer Cosmin Aionita, will re-release their latest album, Evil Must Die, alongside Playing With Armageddon, a new CD full of extra content: a new song, live performances, acoustic takes and much more.
Says the band: “Playing With Armageddon is the title we chose for relaunching Evil Must Die. Re-releasing an album is unusual, but we felt it is the least we could do to give new life to a record we invested a lot of time, money, and passion in. We wish to leave behind a year everyone wants to forget and to re-release Evil Must Die, symbolically, at the very start of 2021.
"So here we are again, trying to give you the best of ourselves. We have prepared a special edition aimed at what we miss the most: the live shows, where the whole presentation and production are totally different to a studio album, giving the songs new life. An exciting, new way to enjoy the band.
"After months of writing new music, as we progress into a new stage of the band’s life, we are ready to release a first sample of our next album. This new song will be a part of a the limited Playing With Armageddon digipack, an extension of Evil Must Die, which will feature the following track list."
"Playing With Armageddon" (new song)
"Mask Of Reality" (live in Seville 2018)
"Evolution" (live in Seville 2018)
"Ultimate Sin" (live in Seville 2018)
"Down With The Devil" (live in Seville 2018)
"War Machine" (live in isolation)
"The Evil Dead" (live in isolation)
"New World Order" (live in isolation)
"Denied" (live acoustic)
"Lose Control" (live acoustic)
"Metal Monster" (Epic Version)
Pre-orders for the Playing With Armageddon limited-edition pack, as well all the band's CDs, t-shirts and other merchandise, are available on their website, here. As a bonus, all pre-orders will include a free poster and a gift postcard.
As first single of this release you can watch “Evolution” below, a preview of the band’s live performance in Seville, during their Metal MonsTour 2018. The complete concert will be streamed Saturday, January 2, 2021, at 8 PM, CET via the band’s YouTube channel.

DAWN AFTER DARK Re-Sign To Chapter 22 After Three Decades; Original EPs Available On Streaming Platforms On Christmas DayBirmingham-based rock band, Dawn After Dark, have re-signed with Chapter 22 more than 30 years after first releasing music on the label.
The group was originally formed in 1986 and issued three well-received EPs on the respected indie label towards the end of the ‘80s. The five-piece toured with bands including Balaam And The Angel, Wolfsbane, Living Colour, Fields Of The Nephilim and New Model Army, building a loyal army of followers before splitting in 1991.
After reforming in 2019 for what was intended to be a one-off hometown gig with close friends Balaam, the amazing reaction to the band’s return prompted Chapter 22 to offer a contract, which Dawn After Dark were delighted to sign.
“The overwhelming reaction of our fans and Chapter 22’s enthusiasm for us to continue meant a lot,” says vocalist Howard ‘H’ Johnson (Rock Candy Magazine), who was also known as one of Kerrang!’s top writers in the ‘80s. “It always felt like there was unfinished business in Dawn After Dark, because we never got to record a full album first time around. Now we can give the fans what they’ve been waiting more than 30 years for.”
“Dawn After Dark was one of the finest British bands of the late ‘80s, and it’s a complete mystery to me why they were never more appreciated,” says Chapter 22 boss Dean Brown. “As soon as I saw them playing live again in 2019 I knew we had to have them on the label.”
As a thank you to the fans for their incredible loyalty and patience the three original Dawn After Dark EPs - Crystal High, The Groove and Maximum Overdrive - will be released onto major streaming platforms for the first time ever as a Christmas present on December 25.
Meanwhile, the band has already started work on the debut album, which is scheduled for release in the spring of 2021, with live dates to follow.
“With the improvements in recording technology it’s awesome to think that people will finally get to hear the band the way we always envisaged,” says drummer Tony Henderson. “We asked our fans to tell us which songs they wanted to hear, so we have a fantastic collection of Dawners classics, little-heard numbers and new songs that we can’t wait to put out there.”
Lineup:
Russ Frame – rhythm guitar
Felix Henderson – bass guitar
Tony Henderson – drums
Howard ‘H’ Johnson – vocals
John Wilcox – lead guitar

ALDO NOVA Releases "Smokin' Hot COVID-19 Version" Of "Blood On The Bricks"; VideoCanadian rocker Aldo Nova recorded his song, "Blood On The Bricks", in a new version especially to wish all his fans stuck at home during the holidays a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year for 2021. Watch the video below:
Last month, Aldo Nova announced his new band lineup, which features Aldo Nova on guitars and vocals, Jack Frost, (ex-Seven Witches, Savatage) on guitars and vocals, Tim Gaines (ex-Stryper, Of Gods And Monsters) on bass and vocals, Billy Carmassi (Aldo Nova band 1982 to 2020) on drums, and a keyboard player, whose name cannot be disclosed yet. But he also has an amazing pedigree, is extremely well known and is a monster player. His identity will be revealed when they begin touring, as soon as the COVID lockdowns are lifted and things get back to normal.
In Aldo’s words, “Between me, Tim Gaines and Billy Carmassi, we were already quite a unit, but when Jack Frost joined the band, it was as if he was the detonator that made us an Atomic Bomb of a band.” He also says that, “When Jack joined the band, I felt a completely new energy, and when Billy and Tim met him digitally, they both agreed that he was our guy and we're eager to go out and literally destroy, which is the mindset that we, as a band, have when we will play live.”
Nova also announced his plans to do a large, full-scale production virtual live show in 2021, and when he says large scale production, he means a full lighting rig over a large stage with one of the leading lighting designers in Canada, Pierre E. Roy, with video directed and edited by Christian Jacques who did Aldo’s videos for, “I’m A Survivor”, “When All Is Said And Done” and his “Monkey On Your Back", live band-livestream COVID-19 session.
Nova doesn’t really think that the drive-in shows that everybody claims to be the only way to play live is a good thing for his fans. In his words, "Who wants to go see a band with five people crammed in a car, listening to the show on their FM radios, and not being able to see anything? It's certainly not the solution, nor the future of rock. Anyway, I’m from Canada where the winters are brutal, so it’ll never work in Canada, nor will it work in the Northern States, so half of your fans can’t see you play when you’re on tour."
Nova plans on doing his virtual live show with a 3 and ½ hour set, playing his albums in their entirety and in the sequence of the album, so as he says. "While most bands play their shows then walk off without playing their hits, and waiting for the audience to cheer and clap til they come back to do their hit," which he calls the “cheap shot”, he does things in an entirely different way because as he says, "We on the other hand, we’ll start the show with 'Fantasy' because it’s the first track on side one of the first album." He intends to play songs from all his albums, even six songs from his rare and obscure instrumental album, Nova’s Dream, which is considered to be one of his best albums, and ending finally with his new Rock Opera, The Life And Times of Eddie Gage.
Also, his virtual show is modeled after Dana White’s UFC fight cards, which is, you pay one price of admission and you can have as many people watching it as you want, as he puts it, "Turn it into a party or a family night, sitting in front of your big screen TV with the sound system as loud as you want, with everybody having a front-row seat, get a beer, play air guitar, dance, and jokingly he says when we play 'Ball And Chain', you can even make out."
Watch out because 2021 is going to be a year full of surprises with new cutting edge ways to entertain fans from Aldo Nova.

ALICE COOPER Performs For Live At Wacken World Wide 2020; VideoAlice Cooper performed remotely for Wacken World Wide during the COVID-19 pandemic during the summer of 2020. Watch Alice perform "School's Out" and "Don't Give Up" below:
Alice Cooper's new studio album, Detroit Stories, which will be released on February 26 via earMUSIC. Named for the city that launched the original Alice Cooper group on the road to success, Detroit Stories follows last year’s Breadcrumbs EP as a modern-day homage to the toughest and craziest Rock n Roll scene there ever was.
In 1970, fledgling producer Bob Ezrin walked into a farmhouse on the outskirts of Detroit to work with the Alice Cooper band. Abandoning flower power Los Angeles, because they were the opposite of the hippie peace and love ideal, Alice had brought his decidedly darker gang back to his birthplace to the legendary rock scene that gave birth to hard rock, garage rock, soul, funk, punk…and more.
Ezrin drilled the band for 10 hours a day to define their signature sound. Whenever they nailed a song, the inmates at the hospital for the criminally insane across the road cheered and thus the classic Alice Cooper sound was born.
“Detroit was Heavy Rock central then,” explains Alice, “You’d play the Eastown and it would be Alice Cooper, Ted Nugent, the Stooges and the Who, for $4! The next weekend at the Grande it was MC5, Brownsville Station and Fleetwood Mac, or Savoy Brown or the Small Faces. You couldn’t be a soft-rock band or you’d get your ass kicked.”
“Los Angeles had its sound with The Doors, Love and Buffalo Springfield,” he says, “San Francisco had the Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane. New York had The Rascals and The Velvet Underground. But Detroit was the birthplace of angry hard rock. After not fitting in anywhere in the US (musically or image wise) Detroit was the only place that recognized the Alice Cooper guitar driven, hard rock sound and our crazy stage show. Detroit was a haven for the outcasts. And when they found out I was born in East Detroit… we were home.”
50 years later Alice and Ezrin gathered some legendary Detroit musicians in a Detroit studio to record Detroit Stories, Alice Cooper’s new album that celebrates that spirit for a new era. If 2019’s “Breadcrumbs” EP laid down the trail to the city, Detroit Stories drives like a muscle car right down Woodward Ave.
“We recorded with Wayne Kramer (guitarist and writer from the MC5), Johnny “Bee” Badanjek (drums - from the legendary Detroit Wheels), Paul Randolph (legendary Detroit jazz and R&B bassist) as well as the Motor City Horns and other local musicians,” explains Ezrin, “We had musical ideas and encouragement from John Varvatos, the support of the folks at Shinola, and we recorded at Rustbelt Studios in Royal Oak. This was Made In Detroit for Detroit by Detroit denizens!”
Discover Detroit Stories as they were meant to be told.
Detroit Stories will be available on CD, CD+DVD Digipak, CD Box Set (including CD, Blu-ray, T-shirt, face mask, torch light and 3 stickers), and 2LP Gatefold on February 26th 2021 on earMUSIC.
The DVD and Blu-ray will show the incredible live performance “A Paranormal Evening At The Olympia Paris” for the first time on video. With the whole concert culture being shut down due to covid-19, Alice Cooper felt the need to share one of his latest shows with his fans as he cannot wait to get back on the road - better than ever.

TIMO TOLKKI's INFINITE VISIONS Release Full Band Lockdown Playthrough Video For "Infinite Visions" Demo TrackAs a special Christmas gift to their fans and supporters, Infinite Visions present this playthrough video of "Infinite Visions", a new song from their four-track demo. Check it out below.
The band states: "Infinite Visions appreciates the contributions that have been received so far to our crowdfunding campaign, but we are falling well short of our €10.000 goal. If we do not reach -- or exceed -- this €10.000 goal the album WILL NOT be made. It is an 'all or nothing' crowdfunding campaign, and if we do not reach the goal all monies will be returned to the contributors and the band will receive nothing. Please help us make the Union Magnetica album a reality! Thank you."
Infinite Visions, the new band of ex-Stratovarius guitarist and songwriter Timo Tolkki, have started a crowdfunding campaign to help finance the cost of creating their debut album, Union Magnetica.
Many perks are being offered, including the Union Magnetica CD, an extensive collection of band demos, an exclusive t-shirt, guitar lessons with Timo, and much more. The crowdfunding campaign can be found here. The song can also be streamed on the band's official website, here
To launch the campaign the band recently released a playthrough video for the song "You Rock My World", a track from their recently completed 4-song demo, which was mixed by Dani G (Rage, Firewind). "You Rock My World" was specifically chosen as the song to kick off the crowdfunding as it is a song for the fans and about the fans.
The video features all five members of the band: Timo Tolkki (guitars), Erik Kraemer (vocals, Simulacrum), Pawel Jaroszewicz (drums, ex-Hate/Vader), Jimmy Pitts (keyboards, Eternity's End/NorthTale), and Pierre-Emmanuel Pélisson (bass, Civilization One/ex-Heavenly).
The band states: "Infinite Visions are ready to record their debut album and need your help to make this happen! They require a minimum of 10.000 euro to complete the album and pay for related costs, such as:
• Recording
• Mixing
• Mastering
• Album Artwork & graphic design of layout
• Band Photos
"Although a large number of fans have been waiting for some classic metal songs from Timo, record sales aren’t what they used to be & the music industry has changed considerably. This change has resulted in bands getting smaller advances from labels and a limited budget for recording. With a desire to release only the best possible album — and not wanting to disappoint their fans — Timo and Infinite Visions turn to crowdfunding."
Infinite Visions are also taking this opportunity to announce Pierre-Emmanuel Pélisson as the new bassist. Pierre has over 20 years experience in both the studio and stage, having recorded and performed with several artists including Heavenly (Sign Of The Winner and Dust To Dust albums) and Civilization One (Revolution Rising and Calling The Gods). Pierre takes over bass duties from Jari Kainulainen, who left the band earlier this month for personal reasons. 1
