Houston based rock band Hindsight is making a huge splash in Texas with the release of a new music video for their song “Back Around” that is receiving major radio airplay on the iHeart radio station “94.5 The Buzz” this December. The song is featured on their latest 3-track EP titled Just Blow On It as a follow-up to their 2021 release _Catalyst.
Regarding the inspiration for “Back Around” as well as the rest of the EP, Hindsight states, “For this record, we really wanted to get back to some of the original sounds and styles that got us all into playing music in the first place. We are all huge fans of modern rock, metal, and electronic music and that is obvious on our previous release Catalyst. However, we all grew up heavily influenced by the alternative, grunge, and punk movements of the mid-late ‘90s and early ‘00s as well. This song and record was very organic for us and we had a blast recording it. Nothing is forced and more than anything, we just wanted to make something fun that we could all really jam too. Lyrically, the song “Back Around” discusses coming to terms with the fact that despite music being an exhausting pursuit, it always seems to keep drawing us back and continues to add value to our lives.”
The track has recently received heavy fan voting to make it one of ten independent artists to be featured on Houston iHeart radio station “94.5 The Buzz.” As a result, the band decided to shoot the video for “Back Around” and schedule a series of performances in the Houston area in December, January, and February along with additional select dates in the gulf coast region. Their next concert date will be held at Acadia in Houston, Texas with fellow Texas rockers Downfall 2012.
After their amazing return to the live stage, on Friday, October 13, Phear has premiered the first video title track from their new studio album, Save Our Souls, through BraveWords!
The album is set for release in spring of 2024. Phear has been recording this album over the last three years, mostly due to Covid restrictions. But now it’s time for these Canuck Metal heads to unleash the heaviest tracks so far in the Phear Catalogue!
2024 will be all about performing these new songs live. If you have ever seen Phear in concert, you know that they deliver an arena show in a club. As stated by the band; “You haven’t seen anything yet!”

Psychlona have set their signatures under a multi-album deal with Magnetic Eye Records, with the British desert rockers planning to release their fourth album via the label later in 2024.
In celebration of joining Magnetic Eye, Psychlona also release a new video single today.
"We are stoked to be joining Magnetic Eye,” guitarist and singer Phil Hey writes on behalf of the band. "We had a few offers on the table but we all knew that this label was the way we wanted to go. We have already worked with label director Jadd Shickler under various guises over the past few years and he has become a trusted confidant and friend. That was probably our primary reason, very closely followed by the fact that Magnetic Eye has a great roster including Greenleaf, who are one of my all-time favourite bands. It made perfect sense. We're looking forward to a long relationship with Jadd and the guys!"
Jadd Shickler welcomes Psychlona: "I've been working with Psychlona for several years in different capacities, and admire the fast leaps forward they've taken in a short time", the Magnetic Eye director explains. "In 2020, they gave even Lowrider and Elephant Tree some tough competition for a lot of folks' favorite record that year. Then they played back to back at Psycho Las Vegas, and I saw people go crazy for them firsthand. I dig their effortless desert vibe despite the guys being as British as it gets, and I love the dynamic they bring to our carefully curated roster of driven, sonically unique acts. I can hardly wait to hear what they'll do on their first full album for us next year!"
Thundering riffs and searing solos meet anthemic melodies in Intranced, an LA-based metal/hard rock band featuring singer James-Paul Luna (Holy Grail, White Wizzard) guitarist Fili Bibiano (Fortress), bassist Nico Staub (The Fae), and drummer Ben Richardson (Wild Eyes). Building on their celebrated musical pasts, the band was united by the goal of mining the deep, rich seams of classic ‘70s and ‘80s heavy metal, with a premium on songwriting and a focus on the epic themes of real life: triumph, tragedy, and heartbreak.
The band has just signed a deal with High Roller Records to release the debut full-length album in May 2024. Tracking for the album is completed, and it is currently being mixed by Herbrand Larsen (Audrey Horne, Enslaved, Immortal). More info will follow soon - stay tuned.
Along with the album, High Roller Records will also reissue an enhanced edition of the Intranced self-titled EP that will include the two songs from the "Rogue Warrior" single, which the band released in June 2023.
This reissue will be available in March to coincide with the band's appearance at the notorious Hell's Heroes festival in Houston, TX, March 21-23, 2024.

Many years later, and with a new lineup, founder and main-man David Gregor then reunited with Peaceville for the opuses Wounds Deeper Than Time, and Suffer For Nothing, showing that none of the brutal & inspired magic of the band's former years had been lost.

Following Live at Freak Valley in 2017 and their latest album, Sphere (2019), instrumental psych rock frontrunners Monkey3 will herald 2024 with a true album highlight of the new year: The Lausanne-based four-piece has announced a brand new, cosmic studio offering, entitled Welcome To The Machine, set for release on February 23 via Napalm Records.
Once again, Monkey3 envelops listeners in their unique, cosmic auditory haze. Welcome To The Machine not only marks their seventh and most epic, dark and captivating record to date, but will also clearly prove why they are one of the most exciting instrumental rock bands in the modern stoner and psychedelic rock scene.
Today, Monkey3 has premiered a music video for their first album single "Rackman”. "Welcome To The Machine is a reflection on the future of humanity through the duality of man and machine,“ the band explains. About the new single, they comment: "Are human beings becoming machines or machines becoming human beings?"

Welcome To The Machine’s musical themes are inspired by movies such as 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Matrix, Sunshine, Solaris and 1984, while unveiling an intense mankind vs. machines story that instantly launches the listener into deep space. Right from its first tones, the album immediately emerges as a perfect soundtrack to a journey into the unknown. Tracks such as "Rackman" perfectly showcase how Monkey3, who formed in 2001, are one of only a few instrumental bands that know how to tell an enthralling story. Welcome To The Machine explores as much as it poses questions. It is dark and menacing; evoking melancholic destruction while somehow bursting with hope at the same time, moving between haunting passages and progressive breaks, mesmerizing grooves and colossal riffs.
The album was recorded and mixed by Raphaël Bovey at Blend Studio and MyRoom Studio, and was mastered by Lad Agabekov at Caduceus Studios in Switzerland. The incredible cover artwork was created by Sebastian Jerke.

DEF LEPPARD and JOURNEY will join forces for a summer 2024 North American tour. The 23-date trek will begin on July 6 in St. Louis, Missouri and hit cities including Orlando, Atlanta, Chicago, Toronto, Boston, Houston, Phoenix, Los Angeles and more before wrapping in Denver on September 8. Openers include STEVE MILLER BAND, HEART and CHEAP TRICK, which will vary by city.

DEF LEPPARD's latest album, "Diamond Star Halos", sold 34,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in its first week of release in May 2022 to land at position No. 10 on the Billboard 200 chart. It marked the band's eighth top 10 LP.
Of "Diamond Star Halos"' 34,000 units earned for the week, album sales comprised 32,000, SEA units comprised 2,000 (equaling 2.7 million on-demand official streams of the album’s songs) and TEA units comprised less than 500 units.

METALLICA played its first-ever concert in Saudi Arabia last night (Thursday, December 14).
The heavy metal giants headlined the opening night of the three-day Soundstorm festival in Riyadh.

More than 600,000 people reportedly attended last year's Soundstorm.
Soundstorm, organized by Saudi music giants MDLBEAST, has been attracting some of the biggest acts in the region and the globe to Riyadh since its launch in 2019.
The festival site spans more than five and a half million square meters with park life areas for food outlets and street performers keeping festival goers entertained between sets at what's been dubbed "the loudest week in Riyadh".
METALLICA made its Middle East live debut in 2011 at Abu Dhabi's Etihad Park. They played the same venue two years later.
Before METALLICA performed in Abu Dhabi in 2013, drummer Lars Ulrich told The National: "When we were here a year and a half ago, it was really magical. Now, I don't say that everywhere… there were so many different nationalities — a great energy and shared experience.
"When we started playing, there were so many parts of the world where the type of music that we were doing was not really accepted. There were a lot of places where people didn't know what we were doing or didn't have enough infrastructure to support a band like us. But it's opening up. It's changing and the world is shrinking. It's great to be in the front lines."
In October 2022, Saudi melodic death metal band IMMORTAL PAIN became the first group to perform heavy metal at a large public event when it played at Comic Con Arabia.
Back in October 2019, Saudi Arabia's grindcore band CREATIVE WASTE played what is believed to have been the first public metal concert in the kingdom's history. At the time, CREATIVE WASTE frontman Fawaz Al Shawaf told Metal Injection: "Leading up to the show, people, especially bands, were skeptical for the longest time, because they existed in the old generation. A lot of them were being conservative. They were worried. No one's ready to take the risk. But, I mean, the ones who organized the show are actually basically newcomers and young. They didn't even know what grindcore or death metal was. So they weren't into extreme music, but they asked us, and I thought the idea was so crazy that I accepted it because it's a part of the change."
In early 2022, Saudi metal artist Meshari Sangora, who goes by the name "Dusk", told Mille about the metal scene in the kingdom: "Yes, there was and still is a metal scene all over the kingdom — from bands that were formed in the late '90s to the early 2000s and even up to today. Recently, places like Syrup in Riyadh and The Music Space in Jeddah have given the opportunity for indie musicians, including metal artists like myself, to express themselves. With all the changes that are happening and the continuous engagement on social media, more people are getting exposed to the genre. January 26, 2024 will see German melodic death metal act Hiraes – featuring former members of Dawn of Disease and Critical Mess – furiously kick off the new year with the release of their sophomore studio album, Dormant, via Napalm Records.
Following the previously shared, thunderous album opener “Through The Storm”, today, Hiraes are premiering a music video for their brand new single, the fast-paced rager “We Owe No One”. The concept for the video comes from singer Britta Görtz, and GUP Media is responsible for its realization.
The band comments about the track and video: “Catchy – groovy – thrilling! Today we present you our rebellious anthem and second single 'We Owe No One'.
