Inching close to the one-year anniversary release of their debut album The Chronophagist, Montreal's Fall Of Stasis is sharing with fans a new music video for the record's closing title track, featuring guest vocals from Viky Boyer (Voice actor for The Monster Factory, Ariel).
"This is the final song off the album and it tells the story of a deity who has the power to steal time from mortal beings. The song starts off with a slightly modified version of Wilted Forests’ intro, followed by a heavy riff and an epic, vocally-charged chorus. The last chorus is cut short by an eclectic and odd-timed trashy riff followed by a black metal section. The song ends with an epic riff and a fading soaring guitar solo," adds the band.
Unleashed on February 25, 2022, The Chronophagist was produced by Chris Donaldson (Cryptopsy) and garnered much praise from metal media and built a strong local following that lead them to open for Avatar and Light The Torch during July 2022. With a wide arrangement of influences, a high level of precision, and dedication, the band prides itself on creating relentless, fast, aggressive yet melodic, and symphonic opus'. Ranging from black to symphonic metal, plus folk interludes, along with proggy riffs, the band intertwines a brutal yet unpredictable melodic composition that unapologetically grabs the listener’s attention from start to finish.
“We wanted our first album to bring something fresh to the metal scene. Each song was carefully written and fine-tuned to maintain the listener’s attention. We wanted the album to showcase every member’s musical influences without compromising the quality of our music. Overall, each song blends well into the next one, yet they’re different enough to keep the listener involved for the duration of the album. We asked Christian Donaldson to record, mix and master our album since he’s easily one of the most respected and recognized metal producers in the province. Again, we didn’t want to cut corners and we made sure to partner with someone who would do justice to our music. Lyrically, the album showcases fictive storytelling from beginning to end, although the lyrics often symbolize modern social issues along with some of the band members’ personal experiences,” adds the band.
The Chronophagist can be heard on all digital platforms, here.

French nu-metal band Elyose have released a new single, "L’assemblée" (feat. Cocozher). The melodic, hard-hitting new track is accompanied by a music video, which can be seen below.
Elyose, a collaboration between guitarist/producer Anthony Chognard and singer Justine Daaé, will release their fourth studio full-length, Déviante, on February 9. Preorder at shop.elyose.com.
Speaking on the new album, Chognard comments, "It's the best album I've ever made, in terms of guitar performances as of musical production.
Daaé adds, "Anthony gave it a metalcore twist, which I'm absolutely in love with. The songs have been stuck in my head this whole year and I was singing them all the time!"
Elyose, a nu-metal band hailing from France, is a collaboration between guitarist/producer Anthony Chognard (ex-Smash Hit Combo) and vocalist Justine Daaé (The Erinyes). Anthony’s vivid songwriting and Justine's ethereal, feminine vocals in her native French result in a sound that’s punchy, modern, and emotional.
Progressive deathcore outfit Enterprise Earth today unleashes a brand new song entitled “Death Magick.” The lengthy track stands among the band’s darkest, most relentless and plainly scathing songs of their extensive sonic arsenal.
Offers Enterprise Earth guitarist Gabe Mangold, “We are very excited to present our heaviest, most aggressive, and unforgivingly wild track to date, ‘Death Magick.’ We pulled from all of our heavy influences to create a seven-minute roller coaster of a death metal song. This is also the first of two singles releasing this month so keep an eye out for the second soon!”
The release of “Death Magick” comes in advance of Enterprise Earth’s upcoming European tour supporting Shadow Of Intent. The Elegy tour kicks off January 6 in Wiesbaden, Germany and runs through February 1 in Karlsruhe, Germany. Additional support will be provided by AngelMaker and To The Grave.
Girish And The Chronicles will release of a re-recorded version of their debut album, Back On Earth, on January 27. The band have released a new video for the song, "Ride To Hell", which can be found below.
Originally released in 2014, Back On Earth was the first album to introduce GATC to a larger global hard rock audience and kicked off their still ongoing rock n' roll journey.
When asked why the band decided to re-record the album as opposed to simply remastering and reissuing it, front man Girish Pradhan says, "We wanted the whole thing to have a fresh new start. Although we wanted to keep most of the vocal takes, we have been introducing a lot of musical changes to these songs in live performances. So we thought, 'Why not do the same in the new recordings?' We always felt that we had technical challenges back in the day and couldn’t deliver the hard-hitting sound that we had originally intended, so we introduced some new breakdowns, chord sequences, solos, and bass and drum parts to these songs that make them feel closer to where we are now. We didn’t want to mess around too much with the vocals though, which is why I only re-recorded the vocals for 'Angel' and 'Loaded'. As a whole, the whole thing sounds quite different from the 2014 version, but all in all, it stays true to the spirit of the songs, however, we feel that it is closer to the vision we had back in the day."
Thinking back on the making of their debut album, Girish says, "Each song has its own story. Most of them were singles, released during the 2009-2013 era of the band. We had a lot of struggles, but we were living our lives to the fullest. More than anything, we were a group of four guys, without a care in the world, who just wanted to get on stage and rock. 'Angel' was the first song ever released. I wrote that tune around 2008. It was actually supposed to be a solo song at that time, but by the time we all assembled, we officially called it the band’s first ever single. 'Golden Crown' might sound funny to a lot of our new listeners, but it was actually a song by two teenagers (me and my brother, Yogesh), meant as a jingle for a local football championship named the Gold Cup, organised by the Sikkim Football Association. I wrote 'Loaded'’s riff and some of its lyrics in 2010, when we were in the process of applying for our first passports. Two of our band members lacked some documents and were told to go back to Sikkim and reapply all over again. We were quite frustrated, thinking of the long journey and the amount of running around we had been doing, for something so simple, plus we were broke as hell. Anyway, the circumstances did help me write the song, and the lines:
'There’s no point in complaining / And shedding tears while it’s raining / There is nothing to lose, / ‘Cause I was the one to choose'
"I guess this will be very long to read if I start writing about each and every song, so we'll leave some of it to our fans to interpret!"
Originally from Sikkim, but now based in the city of Bangalore/Bengaluru in Karnataka, India, GATC are known for their soaring, powerful vocals, biting guitars, thunderous bass, and pounding drums, staying true to the authentic ‘80s heavy metal/hard rock sound which they grew up with.
In their 12-year existence, GATC have been credited by many fans for bringing the classic hard rock culture back to India and are an inspiration to many new and upcoming bands in the scene. The group has gained a cult following globally with '80's and '90s hair metal and hard rock aficionados in addition to being well known in the Indian rock scene for electrifying live shows and have toured across the nation and beyond.
GATC has supported bands ranging in variety from American alt rockers Hoobastank to Finnish rockers Poets of the Fall to German thrashers Destruction. The band has also performed at the Zurbaran Rock Burgos Fest in Spain, sharing the stage with German hard rock legends Bonfire. GATC has also performed at the UrRock Fest in Switzerland in 2021, sharing the stage with Nazareth, Orden Ogan, Firewind, and again in 2022 with headliners Skid Row, amongst others. Additionally, the band consistently has been part of various leading music festivals in India.
Vocalist Girish Pradhan is also part of the international metal group, Firstborne, which is led by Chris Adler, James Lomenzo, and Hugh B. Myrone. He has also toured the UK, France, Spain, Portugal and other territories with his other side projects in the past.

Sid Falck (ex-Overkill) has released a new song, "A Modern Tale", under his own name, Falck. The song features guest appearances from Dano Hibbs (Breeding Thorns - lead guitar), and Jerry Wooverton (Breeding Thorns, Outlaw Devils - vocals).
Says Sid: “I’ve known both Dano and Jerry for quite a while, and I’ve always been impressed by their talents. I had promised Jerry that we’d do “something soon”, and after writing and recording 'A Modern Tale', which is meant as a tribute to Deep Purple around their comeback era of Perfect Strangers, House Of Blue Light & The Battle Rages On, I figured I should probably let a real singer take over the vocals for this one.
Originally, I had asked Steve Pogue (Infectus 13, Firstryke) if he felt like doing the lead, which he did. Unfortunately, Steve was dealing with a lot of health issues which he obviously needed to prioritize, and it ended up not being a viable option. So I asked Dano if he would do the leads, and as is evident, he absolutely did an amazing job."
A video for the song can be viewed below, and the song can be downloaded here. It also is/will be available on all streaming services and online stores.
The official music video for Turbid North's new single "The Road" is streaming now.
The track appears on the Texas trio's upcoming new album, The Decline, out January 20. Preorder on Bandcamp.
Turbid North guitarist/vocalist Nick Forkel states: "'The Road' is about survival in the bleakest situations. How far you'll push yourself to keep going. Even if the world you're living in isn't all that great to begin with. Suffer today, to live another day." The music video conveys the song's message by way of post-apocalyptic imagery reminiscent of the Cormac McCarthy novel with which it shares a title.
Turbid North's first new album in seven years, The Decline is a transcendent experience – a balance of sheer speed, earthquaking intensity, and rapturous beauty. While Forkel and his bandmates bassist Chris O'Toole (Unearth) and drummer Jono Garrett (Shock Withdrawal, Mos Generator) display Napalm Death-level grindcore chops, "The Road" showcases the band's doom-rock side. The song is a driving, radiant, 12/8 rocker in line with the likes of Metallica, Crowbar, and Mastodon.
Founded in Alaska in the early '00s, Turbid North relocated to Fort Worth, Texas in 2007 and finally delivered its debut album, Orogeny, in 2011 via Unearth frontman Trevor Phipps' Ironclad Recordings. The current lineup of Forkel, O'Toole, and Garrett was solidified in 2012. Sophomore album Eyes Alive was released in 2015.
Carnival Of Flesh, the symphonic black metal outlet hailing from Belgrade, Serbia, just released the second music video from their Anthems Of Extinction album.
"The One" is a video essay and a love letter to the oppressive and divisive political regimes we see in power today. Compared to their award-winning debut video, "Tropical Plunder", this video is considerably faster-paced and narrative-driven (rather than atmospheric).
"The One" was filmed and produced by Graveyard Neighbour Photography, with drone shots done by Dušan Rančić.
While Serbian fans had the chance to hear "The One" live back on Festival of Serbian Underground VII, the better part of Anthems Of Extinction was never performed live, due to delays related to COVID limitations and personnel change. Carnival Of Flesh are now aiming to perform the new material in its entirety in the spring of this year.

"The One"
"Tropical Plunder"
"Can Of Sorrow"
