Danish death metal heavyweights, Illdisposed, have released their new studio album, In Chambers Of Sonic Disgust, via Massacre Records. In support of today's release, the band has unleashed a music video for the track, "Lay Low". Watch below:
In Chambers Of Sonic Disgust is the first release of new music from Illdisposed since 2019. It is definitely not normal to see a gap like this between their releases, but several events slowed down the process. First, the COVID-19 pandemic had a significant impact on the music industry and made the band focus on other things for a while. Then guitar player Rasmus Henriksen was diagnosed with brain cancer. Rasmus has now left the band to focus 100% on the treatment. Former guitar player Ken Holst is back in the band, replacing Rasmus.
Now, Illdisposed are finally back to show the world how years of crisis and struggle have been transcribed to music. In Chambers Of Sonic Disgust is full of anger and frustration, and the most ambitious and creative Illdisposed album – ever!
In Chambers Of Sonic Disgust features a guest performance by Sandie The Lilith (Defacing God), and was mixed and mastered by Tue Madsen at Antfarm Studio. The album artwork was designed by Timon Kokott of Art-Work.

Japanese rockers Crossfaith have shared another track from their incredible new album AЯK, which arrives today, June 26, via UNFD and Warner Music Japan, and marks the band's first album in six years.
Today, the band has shared the "My Own Salvation" visualizer.
"This track represents a strong message that salvation cannot be provided by someone else, but salvation can only be achieved by oneself. It incorporates didgeridoo (an aboriginal Australian wind instrument) and primitive rhythmic parts," the band says.
AЯK is a welcome return for the band — after adjusting the global pandemic and a band hiatus, as well a membership change — and serves as quite a milestone. The album's title AЯK is a message of saying goodbye to the past and hello to a new beginning, and their fresh sound and perspective is reflected in the new material.

Los Angeles-based hard rock quintet Budderside resurrect and renew the purity of rock ‘n’ roll with their gritty swagger and soulful melodies. Over the past two years, they’ve been whetting listener’s appetites with new music from their upcoming third studio album White Flame, now set for a July 10 release.
Budderside—Patrick Alan Stone (vocals), Sam Bam Koltun (guitars), Logan Nikolic (guitars), Jeff Dewbray (drums), and Eliot Lorango (bass)—have today (June 26) released the new track, “Ain’t Alright,” from the album. Budderside will appear at fall’s biggest rock festivals in the U.S. this year, including Louder Than Life and Aftershock. The band will also head to Mexico for a handful of shows as direct support to gothic rockers The 69 Eyes who they recently toured with across the U.S earlier this year. Budderside have previously toured with L.A. Guns and Motörhead and on international festivals including Rocklahoma (U.S.), Welcome To Rockville (U.S), Malmö Festival (Sweden), and twice at Wacken Open Air (Germany).
Progressive deathcore outfit, Within The Ruins, will unleash their new full-length, Phenomena II, on August 23 vida MNRK Heavy today, releasing the record’s first single and pre-orders. Phenomena II serves as the sequel to the band’s Phenomena full-length, which was released a decade earlier and has over 18 million streams to date.
Evolution drives longevity. Within The Ruins relentlessly pushes forward, incinerating complacency and innovating out of its ashes. The Western Massachusetts quartet — Joe Cocchi (guitar), Kevin McGuill (drums), Paolo Galang (bass, clean vocals), and Steve Tinnon (lead vocals) — razes convention with a sonic sensory onslaught anchored by polyrhythmic bludgeoning, head-nodding grooves, viscerally evocative vocals, and vivid storytelling. Their controlled chaos has resulted in tens of millions of streams (a rarity for acts this uncompromisingly heavy), packed houses on tour, and widespread acclaim.
Now, they continue to evolve on their seventh full-length offering, Phenomena II. “When you listen to us, we hope you feel like you found some fresh metal,” notes Cocchi. “After doing anything for a long time, it’s easy to get stuck in your ways. So, we always try to present something you haven’t heard before—and you aren’t going to get anywhere else.”
That’s what the band has done since their formation in 2003…
As the story goes, Cocchi and McGuill first linked up back in high school. They slogged it out locally for a long time, solidifying the initial core lineup of Within The Ruins with previous vocalist Tim Goergen. Building a devout fan base one gig and project at a time, they served up Creature (2009), Invade (2010), and Elite (2013), paving the way for the fan favorite, Phenomena (2014). Drawing its primary subject matter from Marvel and DC characters, the latter yielded two of their most popular anthems “Gods Amongst Men” and “Enigma,” which reeled in 4.7 million Spotify streams and 3.5 million Spotify streams, respectively. Following Halfway Human (2017), the musicians welcomed Steve Tinnon to the fold and ignited Black Heart during 2020. Highlighted by “Deliverance,” “Devil In Me,” and “Black Heart,” the latter incited critical applause.
Tinnon’s addition had injected fresh fire into the band as they continued to write and record. In the meantime, Cocchi opened up his own brewery Tin Bridge Brewing where he and McGuill both work. Tin Bridge Brewing also serves as the band’s homebase, including their studio on site. With the decade anniversary of Phenomena looming, the musicians made a conscious decision to leap forward by looking back. The band wrote and recorded in their hub of Westfield, Massachusetts with Cocchi at the helm as producer once again.
“We had written a handful of songs, and we were searching for inspiration,” recalls Cocchi. “We wanted to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Phenomena, because it was a pinnacle point of our career. I wrote a demo that reminded Steve of Phenomena. So, it was his idea to create Phenomena II. The styles really aligned in terms of the unique guitar effects and the themes where each track tells a story from a comic book character’s point-of-view.”
The record’s first single, “Castle In The Sky,” opens with ominous orchestration as Tinnon’s distinct growl weighs heavy on the production. Between gunshots, wailing sirens, and a haunting choir, pummeling guitars hit like a battering ram, and a fret-burning solo strikes with the precision of a smart bomb.
“It has everything people want to hear from us out of the gate,” says Cocchi. “There’s some old-school Within The Ruins in there. Lyrically, it’s based on The Punisher. He’s a war veteran who has his family taken away from him. The central struggle is, ‘Would he rather be alive or reunite with his family in the castle in the sky?’”

Since 2003, Brazil’s Paradise In Flames has been shattering boundaries and spreading its identity-filled sound infused with blazing notes of pure hatred to audiences far and wide. Their latest concept album Blindness is out now, complemented with a music video for the single “Black Wings”. The single mixes Brazilian folk elements with a direct reference to forró (regional Brazilian musical style). It rescues the pre-epidemic period of history, presenting the protagonist: Black Wings and her life story.
Coined as extreme philosophical symphonic protester metal, they have been honing their identity since their 2021 album Act One and have matured and improved since then, intertwining Brazilian bossa nova, death metal, and black metal.
Blindness tells the story of a philosophical work that portrays religion as a psychological illness, illustrating how men become blind in the pursuit of power. Lyrically, the songs revolve around a single plot inspired by the book by Jose Saramago. The musical structure creates an operatic scenario, where characters interact within a symphonic plot characterized by rapid pace and melodious themes. It is recommended for fans of Satyricon, Dark Funeral, and Batushka.
“This album proved to be the most challenging of our career, as it required a strong correlation between the music and lyrics. The concept was to have one set of lyrics for all 11 tracks, ensuring each song had a logical sequence while collectively creating an engaging atmosphere to captivate the listener. Spanish rock band Strangers have unveiled their new single and the accompanying official video “Flames”, out today via Frontiers Music Srl.
Speaking about the track, the band stated: “Unleashing a wildfire of energy, the latest single from Strangers ignites the scene with a great anthem that sets the stage ablaze! Here it goes: Flames.”
Strangers, born in Madrid in 2012, was founded by Miguel Martin and Abel Ramos. Strangers have recorded and published three studio albums; Emotions (2013), Survival (2015) mixed and mastered by Erik Martensson and Brand New Start (2019) mastered by Dave Donnelly in Los Angeles.
After some lineup changes, Strangers decided to join forces with Celia Barloz as frontwoman. Celia, in addition to be a brilliant vocal coach, had already been collaborating with the band as backing vocals in live shows and some recorded vocals on Brand New Start. Strangers faces this new phase with a renewed sound.
Strangers recorded their most recent EP, Whispers in KV62 Studios, mixed and mastered by Andy C. during Summer 2023. Their latest single, “With You”, was released on May 8, 2024.

Earlier this year, members of ICE NINE KILLS and FROM ASHES TO NEW formed a brand new band called HILLHAVEN. Today, they have shared the official video for their third track "GAPS". It follows the buzzy prior singles "Damned To Dream" and "The God You Think You Are".
"GAPS" is a slight change of pace for the band, but still captures who the HILLHAVEN is at its core.
"This song was quite literally the conception of HILLHAVEN," says vocalist Chris Kelly. "I had originally written it for another project, but when that didn't work out, I sent it to Maty [Madiro, drums] and, almost immediately, the conversation became one about starting something new. The thought was exciting, but terrifying at the same time."
He continues, explaining: "I had never been a frontman, I was VERY new to writing lyrics, and this was going to involve a level of vulnerability that would surely push beyond my comfort zone. Still, though, it was a no-brainer — having the chance to make something fresh with guys at this level. A lot of HILLHAVEN's lyrics are deeply cathartic, covering darker subjects as a way of healing. This is one of the hopeful songs.
Kelly finishes: "It's got a little more of a 'feel-good' vibe than the last two songs we've put out and I think listeners are gonna dig that. The usual 'doom and gloom' lyricism in rock and metal can be a little numbing at times, so it's nice to throw some positivity into the mix."
The lineup is comprised of the aforementioned Kelly (ALUSTRIUM, ex-GALACTIC EMPIRE, and who is rumored to play for BABYMETAL's band) on vocals, as well as FROM ASHES TO NEW's Maty Madiro on drums; ICE NINE KILLS' Ricky Armellino on guitars; live FROM ASHES TO NEW member Jimmy Bennett on guitars; and bassist Jaime GoWell.
DEF LEPPARD has shared the official music video for the band's latest single, "Just Like 73". The track features a guest guitar solo from Tom Morello.
During an appearance on the June 20 episode of SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk", DEF LEPPARD guitarist Phil Collen stated about "Just Like 73": "We started it when we were doing [2022's] 'Diamond Star Halos' [album], and anyone who doesn't know, that's a line from a Marc Bolan song [from] T. REX. He says 'hubcap diamond star halo'. And me and Joe [Elliott, DEF LEPPARD singer] have always used that phrase to describe the time that we got really baptized into music. I remember seeing [David] Bowie on 'The Old Grey Whistle Test' and 'Top Of The Pops' and was, like, 'Oh my God. This is my guy.' I was, like, 14 or 15. I'd already seen DEEP PURPLE; it my first concert, which was amazing. So, then all of a sudden this glam stuff came out. So we would always describe that as 'Diamond Star Halos'."
Phil continued: "I was writing a song with Dave Bassett, who I wrote 'Kick' with. And the same deal — I really want to put a SLADE slant on the backing vocals and just make it very much about '72 or '73. And Joe heard the demo and he's, like, 'Why can't you have both?' So we did, and then Joe started writing some lyrics because he's obviously really tapped into that, and all the verse lyrics and all the imagery from exactly that 'Diamond Star Halos' period ends up on this song. We actually hadn't finished it, so the rest of the band hadn't even heard the demo, and we played it to everyone and they all loved it. They all put their stuff on it. Viv [guitarist Vivian Campbell] played guitar, Sav [Rick Savage] did [his bass tracks], Rick [Allen, DEF LEPPARD drummer] put his part on and then we had some vocals — everyone had sung on it — and before you know it, it came out like this. So, we're really thrilled. It actually sounds better than the stuff on 'Diamond Star Halos', to my ears. So I'm really excited about that. And it seems that everyone really digs it as well."
Asked if this is a one-off single or the seed of another DEF LEPPARD full-length album, Phil said: "Oh, it's absolutely the seed of another DEF LEPPARD record. I mean, it was a leftover from the album before, but it was also the start of a new album. So, without a doubt. [Joe and I] write all the time. We send each other things. Sav gets in on there. Just between the three of us, there's just a lot of stuff floating around already. So we've, yeah, got a bunch of stuff. It's really exciting. And it's a great place to be. It's never that thing where, 'Well, we've got to sit down and write an album.' It's, like, 'Wow, I can't wait to play this to the guys and see what the reaction is.' And we keep pushing the boat out even further."
Regarding whether he envisions a new DEF LEPPARD full-length album coming out this year, Phil said: "This year would be pushing it, I think this year. But once we kind of get into the groove, I think — yeah. Who knows? Next year [or] early the year after. But you know how these things go. We have these tours and everything, but we've got a new song. So that's really exciting. So that'll be on the go pretty soon."
"Just Like 73" will arrive on seven-inch vinyl on August 2, 2024 and will be available in a special color variant only through the band's D2C store and in black at all retailers.
"Just Like 73" notably marks the first collaboration between the iconic rock titans and the legendary guitarist, sonic innovator and co-founder of RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and AUDIOSLAVE. The single revolves around a classic DEF LEPPARD stomp fueled by a robust stadium-size beat, thick riffing, and a signature chant, "Rock with me, just like 73!" Meanwhile, a knockout gang vocal gives way to a signature fret-scorching solo from Morello. The instantly recognizable whammy bar wheezes as he shreds at lightspeed into one last head-nodding hook.
Of the collaboration, Elliott previously shared: "It encapsulates a time that burned deep into our DNA. We wanted to celebrate that very important and glorious time."
Morello said: "I had a blast rocking a solo on 'Just Like 73'. I played 'Rock Of Ages' in my college cover band almost 40 years ago and here DEF LEPPARD are still killing it in stadiums with a brand new tune that's one of their best."
DEF LEPPARD teased "Just Like 73" on social media earlier this month, sharing an image with two different phone numbers for U.S. and U.K. fans to call.
"Light up the fuel. Just Like 73. Hotline Now Open," the band wrote in an accompanying caption.
Fans who called the phone numbers were able to hear Elliott singing lyrics from the song, which marks the band's first new original music since 2022's "Diamond Star Halos" album.
DEF LEPPARD's 23-city trek with JOURNEY is scheduled to begin on July 6 in St. Louis, Missouri and continue through September 8 in Denver, Colorado. Along the way, the two Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductees will bring their show to stadiums in major cities like Chicago, Nashville, Boston, Toronto, New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco and more. CHEAP TRICK will play two shows at the beginning of the tour and two concerts at the end of the trek, while STEVE MILLER BAND will join the bill for the majority of shows and HEART will appear on three dates.
Elliott previously shared that DEF LEPPARD's set on the 2024 tour will celebrate specific parts of the rockers' history. "We may even have a surprise or two up our sleeves," he said in a statement.
JOURNEY recently completed a number of dates as part of its 50th-anniversary "Freedom" tour.

Frontiers Music Srl presents the release of Nikolo Kotzev’s Nostradamus Live In Sofia and The Rock Opera original double album reissue on 2CD/DVD, Blu-ray, both out on July 19.

Nostradamus, the famous three acts rock opera written by virtuoso musician Nikolo Kotzev (Brazen Abbot, Kikimora), was originally released on double CD in 2001 and reaped glowing reviews in the international press. The album went on to sell over 50,000 copies on several continents.
The original participants included some legendary vocalists of the metal/rock scene such as Glenn Hughes, Joe Lynn Turner, Goran Edman, Jorn Lande, Doogie White, Alannah Myles and Sass Jordan. Three of the members of the group Europe also appeared throughout the album (Mic Michaeli on keyboards, Ian Haugland on drums and John Leven on bass). Sustained throughout by a 35-piece orchestra, each song is more fantastic than the next. As proof, the sublime Pieces “Of A Dream”, which opens the album immediately after a beautiful intro, starts the journey through this monumental opus.
Fifteen years after the original album release, the rock opera was performed live for the first time in Sofia, Bulgaria, on November 18 and 19, 2016. The world live premiere coincided also with the 450th anniversary of the death of the French prophet Michel de Nostradamus, whose life and times are narrated throughout the opera.
Live In Sofia was recorded on May 27, 2017 in the hall of the State Opera – Rousse, Bulgaria, in conjunction with Maestro Nayden Todorov. Three more shows were staged in 2017 in venues in Bulgaria. The release sees the famous Nostradamus opera performed in its entirety, for over two hours of a blinding performance of a cast of 120 people.

SHINEDOWN frontman Brent Smith and guitarist Zach Myers recently stopped by the 99.7 The Blitz radio station to perform a short acoustic set consisting of the songs "A Symptom Of Being Human" and "Second Chance". Check out video of their appearance below.
In a recent interview with "The Mistress Carrie Podcast", SHINEDOWN drummer Barry Kerch said that he has laid down "six songs of drums" for the band's follow-up to 2022's "Planet Zero" album. "We're actually further along than I thought we'd be this early in the year," he added. "So I think new SHINEDOWN music will probably be by the end of the year, early next year. So, it's kind of exciting."
In a separate interview with WMMR's Brent Porche, Kerch spoke about the musical direction of the new SHINEDOWN material. He said: "It's gonna be what SHINEDOWN does, which every record is completely different than the last one. It still sounds like SHINEDOWN. You're never going to change Brent Smith's voice, but I can't make 'Leave A Whisper' again. I can't make 'Planet Zero' again. I can't make 'Sound Of Madness' again. That was then, that was that snapshot of time… We definitely try to grow and evolve and do something different because at the same time, we're artists, we're musicians. We want to create what we hear in our heads, and that's what we do. So it's coming soon, and it's going to be cool."
Kerch also noted that bassist and producer Eric Bass, who helmed SHINEDOWN's last two albums, is on board to produce the next LP.
SHINEDOWN's "A Symptom Of Being Human" single, taken from "Planet Zero", recently landed at No. 1 at Active Rock. This marked SHINEDOWN's record-breaking 21st No. 1 song on the Mediabase Active Rock chart and extended the band's record for the most No. 1s in the history of Billboard's Mainstream Rock Airplay chart with 19 total. The "Planet Zero" album also featured the pop-rock anthem and No. 1 rock hit "Daylight", which People called one of "the most powerful of pop-rock songs created to remind us that we are truly all in this together."
SHINEDOWN, who recently appeared at this year’s iHeartRadio Music Awards where they were nominated for multiple awards including "Rock Artist Of The Year" and presented/introduced their good friend Jelly Roll on the live broadcast, will play select tour dates this summer.

"The Architect" Appearing in the middle of the currently predictable and monochrome metal scene, Totengott is formed by three experienced musicians with the aim to release the darkest songs that they are able to write and to claim the importance of evil and morbidity of compositions above technique and rawness above demonstration. Being a difficult band to be “tagged”, Totengott can be introduced as an Occult Metal trio with Doom/Death Metal influences but without leaving other genres aside such as Thrash, Gothic or Ambient.
