Nighted, the new genre-bending black metal synthwave duo, have released their new single, the eponymous "Nighted". Check out the official video below.
The single is available on digital platforms found here.
Nighted are Ivo Henzi (vocals, guitars / ex-Eluveitie, Cellar Darling, Forest Of Fog) and Marc Petralito (synths, Appearance Of Nothing). One late and misty summer night, in the enforced lockdown of 2020, the two struck on the idea of mixing black metal with '70s-era synth, à la Blade Runner and Jean-Michel Jarre: and Nighted is the result.
"Nighted" is the third single from Nighted's forthcoming album Absence, released this coming autumn. In the words of the group, it 'is an ode to the night. A confession of love to all the wondrous, the awe and the deep abysses of the night.' It follows their previous singles "Acronyc" and "Aeons".
Absence was recorded, mixed and mastered by Anna Murphy (Cellar Darling, ex-Eluveitie) at Lucerne’s Sound Farm Studio, with drums performed by session drummer Dylan Watson (Kassogtha). Nighted are signed to the newly-formed heavy music label Klang Machine Records, co-founded by drummer and artist manager Merlin Sutter.
Swiss progressive death metallers Kassogtha have revealed their stunning new single "The Infinite". "The Infinite" is the third glimpse of new material from the quintet's forthcoming album rEvolve, due to be released in Autumn 2022.
Stream "The Infinite" here, and watch the music video below.
Of "The Infinite" lyrics, vocalist Stephany comments: “It is right here, next to you, and it's taking you on a trip to your deepest fears and angers. Will you choose to follow the path it's trying so hard to draw you to? Oh you will... for sure. 'The Infinite' drags us into a world of uncertainty and madness. Only one thing shines in the dark and gives a little hope: a presence, imperceptible, which inevitably draws us towards a path that could be fatal, unless it's the deliverance we've been waiting so long for..."
Guitarist and songwriter Mortimer elaborates: "This was the first song written in the rEvolve writing process. In fact, its first iteration was created when the band was working on their previous EP, The Call. 'The Infinite' is now one of the most brutal songs on the album. As the opening track, we wanted to let our audience immediately know what we are up to. Progressive death metal. The song grabs you by the throat with a no-fuss blast beat intro followed by chaos and intensity that barely stops until the end of the song."
Kassogtha are led by vocalist / lyricist Stephany, whose incredible command of growled and clean vocals help mark the band as future Swiss heavy music stars. A concept album, rEvolve tells the story of an endless self-destructive cycle of fear, anxiety, and jealousy. In a world that normalises negativity, we have forgotten how to be happy — and following a pandemic-enforced long, hard look at humanity and society, this is Stephany’s journey of dealing with these emotions. This album is a perfectly timed release valve for two years of isolation, anxiety and grief — a furious expression of frustration at missing the things we love that help us get through difficult times.
Kassogtha band place authenticity and sincerity above smoke and mirrors: a genuine metal band for true metal fans, that takes the genre further without abandoning its core ingredients. From Pink Floyd to Gojira via way of The Agonist and Arch Enemy, Kassogtha’s no-nonsense brand of groovy progressive death metal combines a variety of influences to create a steamrolling fusion of irresistible riffs, neck-breaking drums and a vocal range covering devastating growls and ethereal melodies.
On rEvolve, produced at Stockholm’s legendary Fascination Street Studios with David Castillo (Carcass, Opeth, Leprous), Linus Corneliusson (Ihsahn, Amorphis) and Tony Lindgren (Carcass, Opeth, Katatonia), Kassogtha showcase old school riffs and progressive inspiration, savage grooves and blast beats, creativity and speed, and pure, honest dedication to their craft.
rEvolve will be released on Klang Machine Records, the newly-formed heavy music label co-founded by Swiss metal wizard Merlin Sutter (Cellar Darling, ex-Eluveitie) in Autumn 2022.
Check out the previously released videos for "Before I Vanish" and "Drown"; both tracks are set to appear on rEvolve.
METALLICA guitarist Kirk Hammett botched the intro to the power ballad "Nothing Else Matters" during the band's headlining set last night (Sunday, May 29) at the Boston Calling festival in Allston, Massachusetts. After teasing a bit of "More Than A Feeling", a BOSTON song, Kirk screwed up the opening notes to the METALLICA classic before playfully falling to the floor. He then quickly stood back up and told the audience, "Sorry, guys. You're so kickass. I got distracted by how kickass you are," and restarted the song, which was the second-to-last track of METALLICA's 16-song performance at the three-day event.
"Nothing Else Matters" is one of the most popular songs from METALLICA's mega-selling 1991 self-titled album — also known as "The Black Album" — which was re-released last September as a remastered deluxe box set via the band's own Blackened Recordings. The song reached position No. 11 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart as well as top-ten positions on many European charts.
Last August, METALLICA music video for "Nothing Else Matters" surpassed one billion views on YouTube. It was the first METALLICA track to reach the milestone.
The "Nothing Else Matters" video, which was uploaded to YouTube in October of 2009, was directed by Adam Dubin and edited by Sean Fullan and is made up of clips from the 1992 METALLICA documentary "A Year And A Half In The Life Of Metallica". The clip is perhaps best remembered for a scene where Lars Ulrich throws darts at a poster of WINGER frontman Kip Winger.
Prior to working with METALLICA, Dubin directed two music videos for the BEASTIE BOYS. While he was a student at New York University, he was roommates with record producer Rick Rubin, who would later go on to produce "Death Magnetic", METALLICA's ninth studio album.
"Nothing Else Matters" was featured as a playable track in the music video game "Guitar Hero: Metallica" and has been covered over 40 times by a host of different artists, including STAIND, Shakira, Bif Naked, Macy Gray, DIE KRUPPS, REV THEORY and APOCALYPTICA.
A totally new and different version of "Nothing Else Matters" appears twice in Disney's 2021 movie "Jungle Cruise".

Original KISS members Ace Frehley and Peter Criss reunited on stage last night (Friday, May 27) at this year's Creatures Fest at Nashville's Sonesta Nashville Airport Hotel. The two legendary rockers performed two early KISS classics during Frehley's set, "Hard Luck Woman" and "Strange Ways", both featuring Criss on lead vocals.
Back in March, Creatures Fest promoter Neil Davis said that Criss and Frehley were "excited" about performing together at Creatures Fest. "They talked, and they just thought that what would be great for the fans, for all of us, is if they got together and played some songs during Ace's set," he said.
Also scheduled to appear at this year's Creatures Fest are former KISS guitarists Bruce Kulick and Vinnie Vincent.
Vincent is scheduled to perform on night two of Creatures Fest, while Kulick will close out the event on Sunday, May 29. The festival will also feature performances by QUIET RIOT, ENUFF Z'NUFF, VIXEN, John Corabi, RETURN OF THE COMET and PRETTY BOY FLOYD, among others.
Criss first left KISS in 1980. Since then he's worked with other bands and released solo albums. He teamed up with KISS again for a reunion tour in the 1990s and most recently in 2004. He was replaced by Eric Singer.
In addition to playing drums in KISS, Peter also provided lead vocals for a number the band's most popular and memorable songs, including "Beth", "Black Diamond" and "Hard Luck Woman".
Criss, who was known as "Catman," released his last solo CD, titled "One For All", in 2007. Peter produced the album himself for the first time, and was joined by guest musicians that included keyboardist Paul Shaffer and bassist Will Lee of "Late Night With David Letterman". The album featured a range of styles, from rock and jazz to blues and Broadway, and included covers of "What A Difference A Day Makes" and "Send In The Clowns".
Criss played what was being billed as his final U.S. concert in June 2017 at the Cutting Room in New York City.
Frehley, a founding member of KISS, recently said that he is up for a reunion of the original band, but only if the price is right. During an appearance on SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk", Frehley stated about the chances of him playing with his former bandmates: "Anything's possible — I've always said that. That's the first question so many people have asked me over the years: 'Would you ever consider doing a KISS reunion?' I said, 'I never closed the door on anything.' If the money's right and it's presented to me in the right way, anything can happen.
"I'm on good terms with Paul [Stanley, guitar/vocals] and Gene [Simmons, bass/vocals], which is nice, because we created something really special in the early '70s that has outlasted so many other bands. And God bless 'em. They're still doing it; I'm still doing it. Peter is still around. I'm not quite sure why Peter hadn't toured over the years as much as I have, but it is what it is."
I've got Ace Frehley
I've got Peter Criss
Waiting there for me… yes I do.
Original KISS guitarist Ace Frehley made a surprise, unrehearsed appearance at the poolside acoustic show at this year's Creatures Fest, which is taking place May 27-29 at Nashville's Sonesta Nashville Airport Hotel. Video of Frehley performing a rendition of THE ROLLING STONES' "2000 Man", which KISS recorded for the album "Dynasty", can be seen below (courtesy of The Rock Experience With Mike Brunn. Joining Ace for the performance were TRIXTER's Steve Brown and SISTERS DOLL's Brennan Mileto.
Also scheduled to appear at this year's Creatures Fest are original KISS drummer Peter Criss and former KISS guitarists Bruce Kulick and Vinnie Vincent.
According to Creatures Fest promoter Neil Davis, Criss will join Frehley on stage during the guitarist's May 27 set to play a few tracks.

Frehley's latest release was "Origins Vol. 2", the sequel to his 2016 collection of cover songs that inspired the former KISS guitarist.
"Origins Vol. 2" featured cover versions of THE BEATLES' "I'm Down", DEEP PURPLE's "Space Truckin'", LED ZEPPELIN's "Good Times Bad Times", THE ROLLING STONES' "Jumpin' Jack Flash", THE KINKS' "Lola" and THE JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE's "Manic Depression", among others. A cover of the 1975 KISS tune "She" also appeared as a bonus track. Guests on the set included CHEAP TRICK's Robin Zander, Lita Ford and former KISS guitarist Bruce Kulick.
KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons co-wrote two tracks on Ace's latest all-original album "Spaceman", which was released in October 2018 via eOne.

Last December, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE frontman Matt Tuck spoke to NME about the fate of the six songs which were recorded during the sessions for the band's recently released self-titled album but were left off the final track listing. Asked if the unreleased material follows in the same direction as "Bullet For My Valentine", Tuck said: "They're part of the same writing and recording process. Some of them are quite different and unique. We didn't want wanna put them on 'cause they were curvebally. But they were curvebally enough to have a spotlight on 'em post-album. We wanted the album to be a really solid, cohesive body of work from front to back and we didn't wanna throw too many creative curveballs in the album. We thought it was actually better to keep them off for standalone singles post-record and maybe have some kind of really crazy EP maybe at the end of the cycle, just so people can hear them, so they get the light of day. But, yeah, they're heavy, they're interesting, they're pushing boundaries and they're super exciting."
As for whether he thinks BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE's next album will be a mixture of 2018's "Gravity" — which he had previously described as "probably our most mellow/experimental record" — and the self-titled LP, Tuck said: "It really depends. In a year's, two years' time, whenever we decide to kind of get involved with that, we're just gonna do what we do — we're gonna see what comes out, what feels natural, what makes us happy, what makes us scared, what makes us motivated. And coming off the back of 'Gravity' and this album, we're just gonna that whole process of confidence and no-fear attitude into the writing process, and as soon as we start smiling and high-fiving, that's when we'll know we're on the right track."
"Bullet For My Valentine" arrived in November via via Spinefarm/Search & Destroy. The LP was written beginning in September 2019 with longtime producer Carl Bown, who co-produced the band's 2015 album, "Venom", and produced and mixed "Gravity".
"Gravity" saw BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE's catalog surpass one billion streams in the U.S. That accomplishment solidified BULLET's status as one of the most elite bands in the hard rock scene.
On the heels of the announcement in March that he is releasing a collection of Frank Sinatra covers to support NDSS (National Down Syndrome Society), Grammy Award winning musician, producer, author and founding member of the hard rock bands Alter Bridge, Creed and Tremonti, Mark Tremonti is releasing another music video from his Tremonti Sings Sinatra album.
Check out the video for his take on "My Way" below.
Tremonti Sings Sinatra - Mark’s most-ambitious and challenging project to date – was released on May 27th. Mark has partnered with National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) through his new charity initiative called Take A Chance For Charity and proceeds from the album will go to support NDSS and the work they do to advocate for and support individuals with Down syndrome and their families. Mark and his family were blessed to welcome their first daughter Stella in March 2021 – who was born with Down syndrome – and the idea for the project was born. A video sharing the very personal story of Take A Chance For Charity and behind-the-scenes clips can be seen below:
Mark Tremonti has come together with surviving members of Frank Sinatra's orchestra, creating new takes on some of the classics and some deeper cuts from Frank's catalog. From the opening horns and piano of “I’ve Got You Under My Skin” to final vocal outro of “All Or Nothing At All,” Mark Tremonti showcases the signature vocal approach and exemplary musicianship that made Sinatra’s work timeless. To see his vision through, Mark reached out to Frank Sinatra’s musical director Mike Smith who collected as many remaining members as possible of Frank’s touring band to record the music for Tremonti Sings Sinatra. Popular standards like “I’ve Got The World On A String,” “My Way” and “That’s Life” find new life in the hands of these incredible musicians. Mark Tremonti – known for his guitar work that has won him countless accolades – leaves the instrument behind and just sings on the 14-track album. The artwork on the album cover is an original painting that Tremonti created especially for this project. A recently announced live performance of Tremonti Sings Sinatra with members of Frank’s orchestra on May 14th in Orlando, FL at The Abbey sold out in days.
Tremonti Sings Sinatra tracklisting:
"I’ve Got You Under My Skin"

"I’ve Got You Under My Skin" video:
Take A Chance For Charity is a new charity focused on giving artists / actors / athletes / anyone with a platform the ability to get out of their comfort zone. The idea is to have people get out of the genre they are known for to raise funds / awareness for the charity of their choice. We want people to have the most fun they ever had while raising money for charity. An actor can sing, an athlete can dance, a musician can perform a song out of their musical genre - any artistic interpretation. This gives participants the ability to do something out of the ordinary - in fact extraordinary - all in the name of charity. Tremonti Sings Sinatra will be the first release for the cause, the recipient being NDSS.
The National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) is the leading human rights organisation for all individuals with Down syndrome. NDSS envisions a world in which all people with Down syndrome have the opportunity to enhance their quality of life, realise their life aspirations, and become valued members of welcoming communities. Founded in 1979, NDSS supports and advocates for the Down syndrome community by focusing on three key areas of programming: Resources & Support, Policy & Advocacy, and Community Engagement. Within these focus areas NDSS engages in various activities, events, and programs on topics that are critical to our community such as federal and state advocacy and public policy, health and wellness, education, and employment. NDSS creates resources to support individuals with Down syndrome, their families, and caregivers across the lifespan and hosts awareness and engagement events throughout the country including the National Buddy Walk® Program, the Times Square Video presentation and New York City Buddy Walk®, Racing for 3.21 on World Down Syndrome Day, Run for 3.21, DC Golf Outing, the annual NDSS Gala & Auction, and various other events. Some quotes about Tremonti Sings Sinatra:
“Mark did a fantastic job on this record, his voice and take on the tunes are amazing!” - Hank Cattaneo (Frank Sinatra - Duets Producer)
“Mark's take on Sinatra is nothing short of uncanny. I could never have expected one of my fave metal guitarists to do such faithful renditions of Sinatra classics. Not only instrumentally, but vocally! & these recordings are for a cause near & dear to my heart; I was very close to an uncle who had Down Syndrome when I was growing up. I fully appreciate & support Mark's commitment to NDSS.” – Slash (Guns N Roses)
“Holy Shit, I knew Mark was a ripping guitar player, but no way did I ever have a notion that he had golden pipes as well!!! Totally blown away, totally into it, let's hear more Mark!!!” - Kirk Hammett (Metallica)
“When Mark first played me a track from this project my jaw dropped. Gave me chills! This is a side of Mark's voice that people need to hear and I’m certain they will be just as blown away as I was." - Chris Daughtry (Daughtry)
“Wow! I am absolutely blown away by Mark’s performance on this album!! He delivers the songs authentically, embodying all that is Frank but giving us a glimpse of his own personality as well. I love the arrangements and the fact that some of Frank’s original band members contributed to these tracks. Honestly, I’ve known Mark for a long time and know he is super talented but had no idea he was capable of channelling Old' Blue Eyes like that! Just absolutely beautifully done and what makes everything even that much more touching is the cause. I bet Mark’s daughter Stella was in his heart during every step of the recording processes. Incredible!” - John Petrucci (Dream Theater)
“Once again Mark Tremonti never ceases to amaze me. These renditions of some of the most beloved Sinatra tunes, are so eloquently done that it is remarkable. And what a beautiful gift to the NDSS. Much love, respect, and success to this incredible project.” – Brent Smith (Shinedown)
Finnish cello-rock quartet, Apocalyptica, have released the video below, featuring their performance of "Shadowmaker" at Graspop Metal Meeting 2016, featuring vocalist Franky Perez.
Apocalyptica partnered up with some of the biggest names in rock music to deliver their new single, “I’ll Get Through It”. The song, written for the band by American award-winning songwriter Diane Warren, features Franky Perez – guest vocalist in Apocalyptica’s 2015 record Shadowmaker – as well as Geezer Butler of Black Sabbath on bass guitar. The track can be found on all digital streaming platforms. Buy/stream here, and watch the official music video below.
The song was born out of a visit Geezer & Franky paid to their friend Diane, who had already written the track “Not Strong Enough” for Apocalyptica, included in their 2010 record 7th Symphony. “Franky & I were visiting my friend, Diane Warren, at her studio. She played us this song, saying that she thought it would work well with Frankie’s voice. He gave it a try on the spot. We loved it. Franky then suggested sending it to Apocalyptica. They loved it, and the rest is history,” comments Geezer.
Franky Perez shares the same feeling of enthusiasm upon hearing the track for the first time – “I knew this song was special from the moment Diane Warren played it for Geezer and me. So much so, that I framed the lyrics from the session the very next day. They have been hanging on my wall ever since. This song speaks to me lyrically which made for an honest performance. Musically, there is no better collaboration than Geezer and Apocalyptica to do the song the justice it deserves. I feel very fortunate to be a part of it.”
“I’ll Get Through It” marks the first collaboration between Apocalyptica and Franky Perez since he sang on Shadowmaker, which adds to the excitement for the members of Apocalyptica, according to Perttu Kivilaakso: “We are more than thrilled working with our great and talented friend Franky Perez again! It’s been a while since our previous collaborations in Shadowmaker- album and tour, and we are also highly awaiting for getting back on road with him this April all across the States!”
Perttu also adds, about the song – “’I’ll Get Through It’ – is a meaningful and beautiful song by an incredible songwriter Diane Warren, with whom we’ve also had the pleasure of working with before. We can’t wait for you to hear the final result… falling in love again with Franky’s sensual performance, Geezer’s earthshakingly powerful bass, and our wistfully haunting cellos, among the inevitable presence of all the rhythms and groove!”
“We hope you’ll enjoy the track as much as we do! Gonna be a blast performing it also live!”
Apocalyptica will return to North America in September with direct support from Leprous, and opening act Wheel.

FOZZY singer Chris Jericho's 1980s KISS cover band KUARANTINE was joined by former KISS guitarist Bruce Kulick on stage during its performance on Saturday (May 28) at this year's Creatures Fest, which is taking place at Nashville's Sonesta Nashville Airport Hotel. Fan-filmed video can be seen below.
In 2020, Jericho joined forces with TRIXTER/FOZZY bassist P.J. Farley, guitarist Joe McGinness and drummer Kent Slucher to form KUARANTINE. The band's latest single, a version of "Silver Spoon", which originally appeared on KISS's 1989 album "Hot In The Shade", was released on Friday (May 27). The new track, available via Madison Records with distribution by The Orchard, was the second most added song this week on the Billboard Rock Indicator chart and marks the fourth release from KUARANTINE, which has been entertaining fans with its versions of KISS rarities and some good ol' fashioned rock music.
"I'm pleasantly surprised as to how much attention and buzz KUARANTINE has achieved since we released our first song only a few years ago," shared Jericho. "Record companies…and groupies…have been sliding into our DMs daily with requests, offers, endorsements, and the question, 'What's the next track gonna be?'. Well, the time has come to unleash 'Silver Spoon' and turn the rock 'n' roll world into a damn zoo. Let us see all the animals!"
KUARANTINE's version of "Silver Spoon" has even drawn praise from KISS frontman Paul Stanley, who said: "My favorite song on 'Hot In The Shade' by far. Sounds great… well done!"
KUARANTINE first debuted in May 2020 with the release of "No No No", which reached No. 25 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart. The band has since issued its versions of "Heart Of Chrome", featuring Kulick, and "Love's A Deadly Weapon", amassing nearly half a million total views on their videos on YouTube and close to 200,000 total streams across DSPs.
KUARANTINE — Jericho, Slucher, McGinness, Farley and second guitarist Carlos "Charlie Parra" Enrique Parra Del Riego Campoverde — will perform on Chris Jericho's Rock 'N' Wrestling Rager At Sea: Four Leaf Clover, a four-night cruise from Miami to the Bahamas taking place February 2-6, 2023.
Jericho has surrounded himself with a group of top-notch touring musicians for KUARANTINE. Slucher has been the powerhouse behind the kit for country music sensation Luke Bryan for the past 14 years, from small clubs to headlining stadiums and amphitheaters. McGinness is a rising country singer/guitarist, who has shared the stage with artists such as OLD DOMINION, FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE and Granger Smith, and is also a member of KLASSIK '78, a digital tribute to '70s KISS. Farley rose to fame in the New Jersey-based gold-selling rock band TRIXTER, which toured with KISS, POISON and SCORPIONS, before writing and recording two solo albums and eventually joining FOZZY in 2020. Newest bandmember Parra, who hails from Lima, Peru, is a global rock guitar YouTube sensation, amassing close to a million followers and over 176 million views on his channel.

In 1989, shortly after the release of their third album, Street Ready, the legendary Leatherwolf and their "Triple Axe Attack" of Geoffrey Gayer, Michael Olivieri, and Carey Howe sensed that their rhythm section was becoming indifferent towards the band. The decision was taken by the trio to start afresh and after acquiring the dynamic duo of Marco Forcone on drums and Patrick Guyton on bass, continued to work and perform as Leatherwolf until legal issues arose with a former bandmate over the name.
This rift caused the quintet to seek out a new moniker and feel the need to throw the long-ball into the end zone, the re-birth of Leatherwolf as Hail Mary was used as the launchpad to thrust the band into a new musical direction. With fists clenched and a relentless “take no prisoners” attitude, Hail Mary, would either live triumphantly or leave a hell of a scar trying.
Calling Huntington Beach, California home, Hail Mary, saw the raw energy from a lot of the new bands coming through as a refreshing change to the bombastic glitter of the eighties, but this outfit also had another weapon in their armory - a rabid existing fanbase. In fact, when the line-up of Leatherwolf that would go on to become Hail Mary booked their ‘return’ performance, the show at the Marquee Club in Westminster, California would break records.
Having put out mountains of fliers for the show with just the venue, date, and a line-up photo, but no actual band name, when Geoffrey, Michael, Carey, Marco, and Patrick arrived on the day of the gig, they were shocked to see that the line to get in was wrapped completely around the building, five people deep. And that was only those who couldn't gain entry due to the sold-out venue already being overfilled to capacity. Amazingly, the amassed throng outside stayed to listen through the walls, and that night The Marquee ended up shattering its all-time attendance record, which had formerly been held by Skid Row.
With a fearsome live reputation, Hail Mary would regularly delight its fans at venues such as the world-famous Roxy Theatre, The Troubadour, Madame Wong’s, The Whisky a Go-Go, and of course The Marquee, which was virtually their second home. When not thrilling audiences, rehearsing, or keeping the bar staff at The Marquee on their toes, Hail Mary, could, of course, be found with a bucket of wallpaper paste as they plastered fliers for their upcoming shows all over town. And with the band highly respected throughout Orange County, which had long supported Leatherwolf, it was only a matter of time before they became regulars on KNAC Radio and local TV. With magazines such as BAM, Screamer, and RAW all getting behind them, all Hail Mary lacked to take them over the top was that ever-elusive record deal.
With a dozen A&R reps being regular at their shows, the five-piece entered talks and even went into pre-production with both Epic Records and MCA. But with grunge acts becoming more and more prevalent on every label’s roster, both pulled the plug on Hail Mary halfway through recording. The band did, however, track multiple pro demos, including a development deal with Epic Records alongside producer Tom Fletcher and ‘E’ from For the Record. However, the breakthrough never did quite materialize in the way their music was deserved and the core guitar trio of the band instead reformed the much-loved Leatherwolf in 1999.
Looking back now it could be said that Hail Mary was ahead of its time and maybe that explains why it’s taken the best part of thirty years for this outstanding album to see the light of day.
On May 29th, actor and Hollywood Vampires guitarist Johnny Depp made a surprise appearance at Jeff Beck's show in Sheffield, England, taking a break from the media circus surrounding his ongoing court case against his ex-wife, Amber Heard. Time for Swedes Captain Black Beard to start unveiling what will be their next studio album. The first digital single teasing the record is “Flamenco”, and it pays homage to the “disco-AOR” tag that stuck with the band lately.
“When we read reviews of our album Sonic Forces, the term 'Disco AOR' was used to describe our music,” the band comments. “We hadn't heard this before but kinda liked it and this song was written with that in mind. The energy and the pacing of the song make it the perfect album opener, show opener, and of course... the first single.”
"We're absolutely fired up about signing to Mighty Music," the band comments. "Our new album is a beast waiting to be unleashed. Is the world ready? Who knows... but Captain Black Beard is back on a new mission and with our mighty collaborators, success shall come our way."
