Fan-filmed video of THE WHO's entire April 30 performance at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival can be seen below.
THE WHO's "The Who Hits Back!" tour is again sharing the stage with some of the finest orchestras in the U.S. and Canada. Produced by Live Nation, the tour returns in the fall on October 2 in Toronto, Ontario at Scotiabank Arena.
THE WHO is hitting most of the cities the band was set to play in 2020 with multiple new stops, including a much-anticipated performance at New York City's Madison Square Garden on May 26. After a summer break, THE WHO will continue in the fall, including stops in Chicago, Illinois at United Center on October 12, and in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Bowl on November 1. "The Who Hits Back!" tour winds down with two shows in Las Vegas, Nevada on November 4 and November 5 at Dolby Live at Park MGM.
"The Who Hits Back!" tour features THE WHO's full live band comprised of guitarist/backup singer Simon Townshend, keyboardist Loren Gold, second keyboardist Emily Marshall, bassist Jon Button, drummer Zak Starkey and backing vocals by Billy Nicholls along with orchestra conductor Keith Levenson, lead violinist Katie Jacoby and lead cellist Audrey Snyder, passionately delivering THE WHO's many classics, as well as songs from their most recent album, titled "Who".
THE WHO's wildly successful 2019 "Moving On!" tour brought the band's iconic brand of incomparable rock through 29 cities, including a rollicking sold-out show in Boston's historic Fenway Park, and a memorable Seattle show where PEARL JAM frontman Eddie Vedder joined them onstage for a rousing version of "The Punk And The Godfather" The tour generated the most unanimous outpouring of acclaim from critics and fans of any live rock show in 2019, winning raves across North America for the orchestral dynamic as well as the duo's cathartic rock firepower and intimate acoustic numbers. "They're not getting older. They're getting better. You better, you better, you bet." hailed the Worcester Telegram, with Pollstar magazine affirming "Daltrey is in peak form, and so is Townshend, lavishing his trademarked windmill guitar motion."
Fan-filmed video of Ace Frehley's April 29 performance at The Historic Everett Theatre in Everett, Washington can be seen below.
Last November, Ace said that he had collaborated with his longtime friend Peppy Castro on "some heavy songs."
Peppy reportedly taught Frehley how to play guitar and previously collaborated with KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons as a songwriter and performed on Frehley's and KISS frontman Paul Stanley's solo records.
In December 2020, Frehley told Talking Metal Live that he would start recording his next all-original album in 2021. The record will be the follow-up to "Spaceman", which was released in October 2018 via eOne. At the time, he said that had "been writing all along. Plus, I have tracks that I've already recorded that I have to revisit and decide whether they have a chance to make it on my new studio record — [if they] have to be rewritten or [they're] just good the way they are," he explained. "And I've got people sending me song ideas constantly… So, little by little, it's an ongoing process, and it evolves as it goes."
Earlier in 2020, Frehley told Canada's iHeart Radio that he had "only written about three songs" for his next LP, and he added they were "not finished." He said: "Now that I'm [living] on the East Coast [after moving to New Jersey from Southern California], my engineer only lives an hour from me, Alex Salzman, who worked with me extensively on this last record, and he played a lot of bass guitar as well, So it's gonna be even easier, 'Origins Vol. 3' and the next [original] record."
Frehley's latest release was "Origins Vol. 2", the sequel to his 2016 collection of cover songs that inspired the former KISS guitarist.
"Origins Vol. 2" featured cover versions of THE BEATLES' "I'm Down", DEEP PURPLE's "Space Truckin'", LED ZEPPELIN's "Good Times Bad Times", THE ROLLING STONES' "Jumpin' Jack Flash", THE KINKS' "Lola" and THE JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE's "Manic Depression", among others. A cover of the 1975 KISS tune "She" also appeared as a bonus track. Guests on the set included CHEAP TRICK's Robin Zander, Lita Ford and former KISS guitarist Bruce Kulick.
KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons co-wrote two tracks on "Spaceman", "Without You I'm Nothing" and "Your Wish Is My Command", the latter of which also features Simmons's bass playing.
Enjoyed watching Ace Frehley (formerly of KISS) perform his classics at the Historic Everett Theater. Hung out after the...
THE TROOPS OF DOOM, the new Brazilian band featuring former SEPULTURA guitarist Jairo "Tormentor" Guedz, has released the official music video for the song "Dethroned Messiah". The track is taken from THE TROOPS OF DOOM's debut album, titled "Antichrist Reborn", which arrived last month via Alma Mater Records, the Portuguese powerhouse label run by MOONSPELL's Fernando Ribeiro. It is digitally available via Blood Blast distribution.
THE TROOPS OF DOOM also includes acclaimed graphic artist Marcelo Vasco on guitar, Alex Kafer (ex-NECROMANCER, EXPLICIT HATE, ENTERRO) on vocals/bass and Alexandre Oliveira (SOUTHERN BLACKLIST) on drums. The band's goal is to revisit the essence of 1980s-style death metal, exploring a more primitive sound that takes listeners back to that era, while remaining fresh and genuine.
"Antichrist Reborn" is the follow-up to THE TROOPS OF DOOM's critically acclaimed EPs "The Rise Of Heresy" (2020) and "The Absence Of Light" (2021),which have been lauded by both the international music press and fans alike.
Says Guedz: "We are very happy that we are finally about to release our debut full-length album. We already have it composed basically since 2020 but due to the pandemic, we ended up deciding to postpone its release. Now with most people vaccinated and restrictions easing, we expect 2022 to be a good year for the return of shows and touring. Fingers crossed! We're confident about it and can't wait to hit the road. The suggestive title of the album 'Antichrist Reborn' has a strong connection with the song 'Antichrist', from my time at SEPULTURA back in the days, and of course, because our sound, that's a rescue of that death metal aura from the '80s."
Ribeiro states: "I have been a fan of Brazilian extreme music, namely death metal since the late '80s. It shaped me as a musician and as a metalhead as much or maybe even more than the classic extreme metal bands from Europe and the U.S. 'Antichrist Reborn' holds the key to open the gates and unleash those demons upon us in 2022! It's just the brilliant missing link between that past and the glorious TROOPS OF DOOM future. My head is in the clouds and I am totally psyched to have this top of the chain band in my label. You won't believe how hellishly strong is this record. TROOPS OF DOOM will claim the title of best death metal album of the year!"
"Antichrist Reborn" was mixed by Swedish producer Peter Tägtgren at the iconic The Abyss Studio and mastered by Jonas Kjellgren at Blacklounge Studio, Sweden. Featuring very special guest musicians such as João Gordo (RATOS DE PORÃO) and Alex Camargo and Moyses Kolesne (KRISIUN),THE TROOPS OF DOOM unleash true old-school death metal in its purest form; dirty, primitive, and brutally powerful as it should be. The cover art was painted by Sergio "AlJarrinha" Oliveira, the artist behind SEPULTURA's "Bestial Devastation" original artwork.

He also participated in the early songwriting sessions for 1987's "Schizophrenia".
In early 1987, Jairo quit SEPULTURA and was replaced by São Paulo-based guitarist Andreas Kisser.

Finnish progressive metal band Sum Of Seven have released a new music video, "The Enemy", via Inverse Records. Famous Finnish model, dancer and singer Joalin Loukamaa, known from global pop band Now United, is featured in the video.
The band comments: "We wanted to create a video that has a nice balance of story and the band playing. Originally we planned this to be purely the band playing the song but the place we found for the shoot inspired us to add a story element. Joalin Loukamaa did an excellent job in our last video and we asked if she would join the project. Fortunately she said yes and did an amazing job again. We got Saku Suominen from Sakuvisuals to direct and work his magic behind the camera and we had an absolute blast filming this. We feel that the atmosphere of the video and the song complement each other in just the right way and the finished product definitely makes us proud.
The Enemy is a song that starts out fast and aggressive and really carries that momentum from start to finish. It is one of the heaviest songs that we have made so far. When that intro explodes you know that we're going somewhere fast. But at the same time when the vocal melodies kick in they steer the song into a different direction than you might expect, still carrying the aggressive momentum. The lyrics talk about freedom, victory and survival, but they also have connotations to the questionable interpretations of those subjects. The message can be interpreted as positively empowering, but also as a disturbingly delusional illusion."
On April 22nd, Night Ranger played the St. Augustine Amphitheatre in St. Augustine, FL. During their set, the band was joined by frontman Jack Blades' former Damn Yankees bandmate Tommy Shaw for a performance of the hit "High Enough". Check out the fan-filmed video below.
"High Enough" is featured on the self-titled Damn Yankees album released in 1990. The song hit #3 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, the group's first (and only) Top Ten single. It also reached #2 on the US Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. The success of "High Enough" helped send the album into the Top 20 on the US albums chart.
Damn Yankees featured Jack Blades, Tommy Shaw, Ted Nugent and Michael Cartellone.
Sabaton guitarist / Majestica frontman Tommy Johansson has shared his solo performance of "Anthem" from the 1984 musical, Chess. Check it out below.
Johansson: "When I started to sing at the age of 15, the song 'Anthem' from the musical Chess (originally sung by Tommy Körberg) was my first REAL goal. I learned it and performed it at my school when we ended 9th grade in front of the whole school and from that day on this song has been very special to me. Maybe one day I will upload that video - me, 15 years old, singing that song."
Chess is a musical written by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus of the pop group ABBA, lyrics by Ulvaeus and Tim Rice, and book by Rice. The story involves a politically driven, Cold War-era chess tournament between two grandmasters, one American and the other Soviet, and their fight over a woman who manages one and falls in love with the other.
A highly successful concept album was released prior to the first theatrical production in order to raise money. In the case of Chess, the concept album was released in the autumn of 1984 while the show opened in London's West End in 1986 where it played for three years.
Johansson previously shared his solo performance of the Simon & Garfunkel classic, "The Sound Of Silence". Check it out below.
Johansson: "This cover of the Disturbed version of 'The Sound of Silence' by Paul Simon & Art Garfunkel is dedicated to my friend Christian Sundberg, who is no longer with us. A great friend, father, brother and son who left us too early."
The Unknown is Edge Of Paradise's fourth studio album, coming on the heels of their Frontiers Music Srl debut, Universe. The band teamed up with renowned producer Howard Benson (Halestorm, My Chemical Romance, Seether) who, together with Mike Plotnikoff (Halestorm, Three Days Grace), and Neil Sanderson (Three Days Grace) helped the band craft their biggest sounding album yet. Add in mixing and mastering by Jacob Hansen (Amaranthe, Volbeat, Pretty Maids) and you have a fool-proof recipe for a sonically stunning album. The Unknown builds upon where Universe left off, developing Edge Of Paradise's overall symphonic and metallic sound while bringing it to the next level. Gigantic hooks paired with monolithic guitar riffs in a spacious sea of symphonic sounds will immediately grab listeners and whisk them away on the band's sonic, and lyrical, journey.

Finnish cello-rock quartet, Apocalyptica, have released the video below, featuring their performance of "House Of Chains" at Graspop Metal Meeting 2016 featuring vocalist Franky Perez.
Apocalyptica recently partnered up with some of the biggest names in rock music to deliver their new single, “I’ll Get Through It”. The song, written for the band by American award-winning songwriter Diane Warren, features Franky Perez – guest vocalist in Apocalyptica’s 2015 record Shadowmaker – as well as Geezer Butler of Black Sabbath on bass guitar. The track can be found on all digital streaming platforms. Buy/stream here, and watch the official music video below.
The song was born out of a visit Geezer & Franky paid to their friend Diane, who had already written the track “Not Strong Enough” for Apocalyptica, included in their 2010 record 7th Symphony. “Franky & I were visiting my friend, Diane Warren, at her studio. She played us this song, saying that she thought it would work well with Frankie’s voice. He gave it a try on the spot. We loved it. Franky then suggested sending it to Apocalyptica. They loved it, and the rest is history,” comments Geezer.
Franky Perez shares the same feeling of enthusiasm upon hearing the track for the first time – “I knew this song was special from the moment Diane Warren played it for Geezer and me. So much so, that I framed the lyrics from the session the very next day. They have been hanging on my wall ever since. This song speaks to me lyrically which made for an honest performance. Musically, there is no better collaboration than Geezer and Apocalyptica to do the song the justice it deserves. I feel very fortunate to be a part of it.”
“I’ll Get Through It” marks the first collaboration between Apocalyptica and Franky Perez since he sang on Shadowmaker, which adds to the excitement for the members of Apocalyptica, according to Perttu Kivilaakso: “We are more than thrilled working with our great and talented friend Franky Perez again! It’s been a while since our previous collaborations in Shadowmaker- album and tour, and we are also highly awaiting for getting back on road with him this April all across the States!”
Perttu also adds, about the song – “’I’ll Get Through It’ – is a meaningful and beautiful song by an incredible songwriter Diane Warren, with whom we’ve also had the pleasure of working with before. We can’t wait for you to hear the final result… falling in love again with Franky’s sensual performance, Geezer’s earthshakingly powerful bass, and our wistfully haunting cellos, among the inevitable presence of all the rhythms and groove!”
“We hope you’ll enjoy the track as much as we do! Gonna be a blast performing it also live!”
Mass Worship have released a guitar playthrough video for "Orcus Mouth", from the recently released full-length album, Portal Tombs. Watch below:
Portal Tombs is a terrifying but electrifying exploration of the gloomy depths of human nature: a monolithic manifestation of the musical force that is Mass Worship. The album features guest appearances by Jonas Stålhammar of At The Gates, Mark ‘Barney’ Greenway of Napalm Death, and Jonas Renkse of Katatonia/Bloodbath.
“It’s pretty mind-blowing to have members of such inspirational pioneers on our own album”, says the band.
Drawing inspiration from bands such as At The Gates, Mastodon and Meshuggah, Mass Worship could be likened to many bands, but somehow forge their musical identity into something exceptionally distinctive and transcendent, and with enough confidence and conviction to win over even the most orthodox fans of the genre.
Hard rock juggernaut Saint Asonia, featuring former Three Days Grace frontman Adam Gontier and Staind guitarist/founding member Mike Mushok, are back with a new EP. The band will release Introvert on July 1 via Spinefarm. Pre-order it here.
Today, the band has shared the first single from the seven-track EP in the form of "Above It All". Watch the video, directed by Justin Reich, below.
"'Above It All' is about rising above all the chaos, negativity, judgment and living the life you want to, not the life that is expected of you by others," says Gontier. "The song was written during the first lockdown in Canada after COVID hit. None of us had ever been through anything like this in our lifetimes and no one really knew how we as a society should act and deal with a global pandemic. I really felt it gave people a great opportunity to search inside themselves about how best to deal with these crazy circumstances and choose how they want to live their lives coming out of this."
The EP also features the band's well-received cover of The Weeknd's "Blinding Lights," which arrived last year.
The quartet - rounded out by Cale Gontier [bass] and Cody Watkins [drums] - have perfected a fusion of gut-punching grooves, intricate fretwork, airtight songwriting, and soaring choruses.
Tracklisting:
"Above It All"
"Better Late Than Never"
"Chew Me Up"
"So What"
"Left Behind"
"Bite The Bullet"

Savatage are a band of staggering power and unlimited creativity, establishing themselves at the 'cutting-edge' of the hard rock world, with a career spanning twelve albums.
August 2021 was the beginning of the extensive re-release campaign of the entire back-catalogue, which continues with the simultaneous release of two certified classics. Gutter Ballet explored a more 'progressive' palette, whilst Streets - A Rock Opera - considered to be their magnum opus - leaned in to the path of "concept album.
The two albums are now available as strictly limited heavyweight coloured LP gatefold collector’s edition, along with 180g black vinyl gatefold. Mastered for vinyl and reissued with the original cover design, specially enhanced artwork and extensive liner notes, they aren't just a must-have for Savatage fans, but for any vinyl aficionado.
The Rolling Stones have released two previously unheard recordings from a legendary event in the band's incredible 60-year history. “Tumbling Dice” and “Hot Stuff,” recorded at the Stones’ famous secret concerts at the 300-capacity Toronto club El Mocambo in March 1977, are out now!.
Listen to the tracks here, and watch “Tumbling Dice” and “Hot Stuff” visualizers below.
The two tracks are set to feature on the upcoming Live At The El Mocambo album, which is being released in full for the first time on Friday, May 13.
The album will be available on double CD, 4 LP black vinyl, 4 LP neon vinyl and digitally. It features the Stones' full set from the March 5 show, plus three bonus tracks from the March 4 gig, newly mixed by Bob Clearmountain. Only four of the performances found their way onto the Love You Live album that followed in September 1977, which was dominated by tracks captured on the band's 1975 and '76 tours, with the full set having never been heard before.
As the Stones took to the stage of the “El Mo,” a fixture of the Toronto music scene since the 1940s, punk and disco were both rearing into full view, supposedly ready to see off a band who had already been at the top of their game for 15 years. Over two nights, in an intimate space in one of their favourite cities, they were about to make that prognosis look foolish indeed.
The gigs became reality after the El Mocambo was identified as the potential home for a secret booking. A radio contest was organized in which the prize was tickets to see Canadian rock heroes April Wine, supported by an unknown band called the Cockroaches. Guess who they turned out to be...
On the nights, naturally, April Wine were themselves the opening act, and so it was that the Stones rolled back the years to the exhilarating club incarnation of their early years. Against all the odds, the band produced two nights of exhilarating music that they still talk about in Toronto, and in Rolling Stones legend, to this day.
It was a setlist for all seasons, from Muddy Waters' “Mannish Boy“ and Bo Diddley's “Crackin' Up“ to staples such as “Let's Spend The Night Together“ and “Tumbling Dice,“ and back to the blues with Big Maceo's “Worried Life Blues“ and Willie Dixon's “Little Red Rooster.“ There was the live debut of “Worried About You,“ not heard in studio form until 1981's Tattoo You, and more highlights from “Honky Tonk Women“ to “Hot Stuff.“ Forty-five years on, this is a trip back to the intensity of the Crawdaddy Club in the Stones' earliest days, as revisited by the greatest rock 'n' roll band in the world.
Live At The El Mocambo is available for pre-order now.

Former H.E.A.T. vocalist Erik Grönwall is now the frontman for Skid Row, having officially replaced ZP Theart earlier this year. He has shared a new cover video, which can be viewed below.
"Las Vegas session! I found some time on my day off to record this song. Special thanks to The Tone Factory Recording Studios Las Vegas, NV."
On March 26th, Skid Row played their first show with Grönwall at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, NV. They were supporting the Scorpions for the band's Sin City Nights residency.
Skid Row and earMUSIC join forces to announce the release of the new studio album, The Gang’s All Here, on October 14. This announcement coincides with the launch of the iconic hard rock band’s Las Vegas Residency (as the Scorpions’ special guests) this Saturday, as well as the debut of their brand-new single, the title track “The Gang’s All Here”. Watch a visualizer for the single below, and stream the song here.
“The Gang’s All Here” is an oath of triumph, exploding with powerful energy that makes us hunger for more. It is the logical next-generation leap of the band’s trademark sound that stomps out new ground – with singer Erik Grönwall (formerly of H.E.A.T, one of the best frontmen of this or any hard rock era) joining the family.
Produced by Grammy Award Winning producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Rush, Alice In Chains, Halestorm, Evanescence) and long-time fan, Skid Row are ablaze. They are re-energized, kicking their sound way up to modern Hard Rock Royalty.
“We are beyond excited to release this record. It has been a long time in the making and a lot of hard work has been put into it by the band and our producer Nick Raskulinecz. And the addition of Erik has lifted the songs to new heights. Add all this to the fact that we start our world tour in Las Vegas with the Scorpions residency this Saturday at Zappos Theater makes it easy to say that Skid Row is going to have a great year.” - Rachel Bolan and Snake Sabo

Detroit death-doom force Temple Of Void’s Relapse debut, Summoning The Slayer, is out June 3rd. Today, Temple Of Void shares the second single “Hex, Curse, & Conjuration”, which can be heard below.
Temple Of Void comments: “This one is a banger. The shortest TOV song to date, I believe. Just ruthlessly stripped it down to the bare essentials. Ready to rip your face off on stage. Classic cave-man death metal harkening back to early Deicide and Morbid Angel output, but warped through the Temple Of Void perspective.”
The Michigan-based quintet featuring Alex Awn (guitars), Don Durr (guitars), Mike Erdody (vocals), Jason Pearce (drums), and Brent Satterly (bass), hunkered down during the last two years, expanding upon their brand of fusty, artfully brutish death-doom with equal parts process and imagination. The outcome is an album that feels massive yet sepulchral, exploratory yet distinguishable—as if crafted deep below and inspired by all the things (mentally and physically) that come with their subterranean endeavor. Summoning The Slayer creepily evolves Temple Of Void.
Produced, mixed, and mastered by Arthur Rizk (Power Trip, Sumerlands, Candy), Summoning The Slayer pairs long-time influences and a bevy of non-metal vectors into hulking columns of heavy and desolation. Focus tracks “Deathtouch”, “Hex, Curse, & Conjuration” and “The Transcending Horror” showcases Temple Of Void’s death-doom at its heights and their massive, crushing lows. But the group’s fourth album is more than that. The album’s capper, “Dissolution”, is one example of the Detroiters stretching out, the song’s ‘70s rock/singer-songwriter motifs hitting The Moody Blues and Nick Drake hard. Lyrically, Summoning The Slayer eschews commonplace horror tropes with a deeper, broader psychological discussion of the self. Temple Of Void’s ultimate death-doom metal journey is now complete.
Summoning The Slayer is out June 3 on LP/CD/CS/Digital. Physical pre-orders via Relapse.com are available here. Digital downloads/streaming at this location.

Unbowed is a melodic death/black metal band formed in Guelph, ON, Canada in 2011. The band has to date released two full-length albums, two EPs, and two Singles. Unbowed consists of Ioan Tetlow (Vocals), Steven Rowlands (Guitars), Aiden Watkinson (Bass), Alex Snape (Guitars), and Cory Hofing (Drums). Unbowed is now gearing up to release their third full-length album and strongest effort to date, the ten song LP Colour The Soul. BraveWords is premiering new single and video for “The Holy Momentum” featuring Mother Of All’s Frederik Jensen – watch below!
The band comments:
“This song takes up the responsibility to represent the concept of ‘Lich’ which concerns itself with mind and body synchronicity. This concept can be found within ancient concepts leading back to the ancient myths of Mesopotamia. It is the symbolism of two serpents endlessly chasing one another, it is the DNA helix, etc. The symbol indicates movement, and an endless chase; thus creating a generation of energy and power, a concept crucial to the creation of all art forms. This is the left brain, right brain, Apollo and Dionysus, or mind and body. In order for one to generate the power and energy needed to go the distance along the journey, the soul must be nurtured by the experiences and stresses put on both mind and body. This song represents the endurance through all forms of extreme resistance against the path forward.”
Colour the Soul features artwork by illustrator Marta Sokołowska. Marta was also responsible for the artwork on Unbowed’s debut self-titled EP released in 2013. The album was written and recorded by Unbowed at Nomadic Arts Studios in Guelph, ON, Canada. Featuring guest appearances from Joel Violette (Thrawsunblat, Woods of Ypres), Mathias "Vreth" Lillmåns (Finntroll, And Oceans, Dispyt) and Frederik Jensen (Mother Of All, Plained). The album was mixed and mastered by Alex Snape.

American heavy metal band, Lords Of The Trident, have released the final single and music video from their new album, The Offering. Fans can check out the new music video for "Dance Of Control" below.
"For our final music video drop we decided to go out with a bang, so we rented a mansion to film the very aristocratic-sounding 'Dance Of Contol'! This was filmed at the Paine Mansion in Oshkosh, WI. Unfortunately they didn't have a harpsichord on the premise, so you'll just have to imagine us in full armour shredding those parts, haha!" - Fang VonWrathenstein (vocals)
With The Offering finally released worldwide, Lords Of The Trident have spared no time engaging with their fans through a new campaign that puts their loyal supporters first.
Last month, at the overwhelming behest of the fans, the band launched a 30-day Kickstarter campaign with the goal of raising funds to press The Offering on vinyl. Lords Of The Trident are thrilled to share that the vinyl Kickstarter has already reached its goal, raising over $10,000 in less than 24 hours.
Now a new stretch goal has been established ($25,000), at which point the band will print their 2015 LP Frostburn on an ice-cold blue vinyl. The Kickstarter for the vinyl fundraiser can be found here.
Lords Of The Trident have also announced the first wave of their 2022 tour dates. The band's return to live shows this year began with an epic album release show on April 2, where they were joined by none other than Grant Truesdell of Unleash The Archers. See below for the band's upcoming live shows, and expect to hear more announcements very soon.

METALLICA played its first concert of 2022 on February 25 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. The show, which was reportedly attended by 60,000 fans, featured support from GRETA VAN FLEET and ICE NINE KILLS.
The Las Vegas show took place more than two months after METALLICA's two 40th-anniversary concerts at Chase Center in San Francisco, California which featured different setlists. They were part of METALLICA's "San Francisco Takeover", a four-day citywide celebration of the band's 40th anniversary that also included a film festival, photo exhibit and curated lineup of smaller venue shows featuring other acts.
In February, METALLICA announced it will perform only two summer stadium shows in 2022: Highmark Stadium in Buffalo, New York on August 11, and PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on August 14. Both shows will feature special guests GRETA VAN FLEET and ICE NINE KILLS.
METALLICA previously played at Highmark Stadium on July 25, 1992, and Pittsburgh's Three Rivers Stadium on July 26, 1992.
This spring, METALLICA will perform at the BottleRock festival in Napa on May 27 and Boston Calling on May 29. The band also has a number of other South American and European dates scheduled for spring and early summer.
Formed in 1981 by drummer Lars Ulrich and guitarist/vocalist James Hetfield, METALLICA has become one of the most influential and successful rock bands in history, having sold nearly 120 million albums worldwide and generating more than 15 billion streams while playing to millions of fans on all seven continents. The band's several multi-platinum albums include "Kill 'Em All", "Ride The Lightning", "Master Of Puppets", "… And Justice For All", "Metallica" (commonly referred to as The Black Album),"Load", "Reload", "St. Anger", "Death Magnetic" and "Hardwired... Last July, NIGHTWISH played a special "secret" concert in Oulu, Finland as a warm-up for its festival appearances in Finland. The gig marked NIGHTWISH's first fan-attended show in more than two and a half years. It was also NIGHTWISH's first proper concert with session bassist Jukka Koskinen's (WINTERSUN),who stepped into the group as the replacement for longtime NIGHTWISH bassist/vocalist Marko "Marco" Hietala. Hietala announced his departure from the band in January 2021, explaining in a statement that he hadn't "been able to feel validated by this life for a quite a few years now."
Koskinen made his live debut with NIGHTWISH at the band's two interactive experiences in May 2021. The shows reportedly drew 150,000 viewers, setting the record for the largest paid virtual concert in Finland's history. Most of the viewers came from Europe and North America, but the performance was a truly global event, with fans in 108 countries purchasing tickets to the show and the box office gross exceeding one million euro.
In May 2021, NIGHTWISH keyboardist and main songwriter Tuomas Holopainen said that Hietala's decision to leave the band "came as a bit of a surprise." He told Finland's Kaaos TV: "Marko informed us in December [of 2020 that he was leaving the band]. And even though he has been very open about his state and problems during the past years, it still came as a bit of a surprise for us. So it was a really tough pill to swallow. And for a few days, I was actually quite confident that there's no coming back, that this is it. I remember talking to Emppu [Vuorinen], the guitar player, and we were, like, 'You think this is it?' 'Yeah, I think this is it.' I mean, enough is enough. So much has happened in the past. Something that broke the camel's back, as they say. Then, after some time had passed — a few days — we started to think that it's been such a ride of 25 years, with so many ups also, that this is not the way to end it."
NIGHTWISH's latest album, "Human. :II: Nature.", was released in April 2020. The follow-up to 2015's "Endless Forms Most Beautiful", "Human. :II: Nature." is a double album containing nine tracks on the main CD and one long track, divided into eight chapters, on CD 2.
