MATT SORUM Is 'Not Waiting' On A Call Asking Him To Rejoin GUNS N' ROSESIn a new interview with MetalSucks, Matt Sorum was asked if he would consider rejoining GUNS N' ROSES if he was approached about it by Slash or Duff McKagan. He responded: "Well, I don't really know. I mean, look, you have to take things as they come, one day at a time, right? I've made a lot of changes to my life based on what's good for me. And those changes are also about what's right in the moment and also within the context of what's happening for everyone that's involved. I can tell you that I'm not sitting by the phone, waiting on a call to join GUNS N' ROSES or anything like that. I'm moving forward with my life and enjoying it immensely. I love what I'm doing right now, and that's good enough for me. But you never know. I've learned that in life, you never know, and I've learned never to say never because there's no telling what twists and turns are around the bend. But I'm not waiting on it, and it's all cool by me."
Sorum revealed in his book "Double Talkin' Jive: True Rock 'N' Roll Stories" that he learned of the 2016 partial reunion of GUNS N' ROSES' classic lineup via the rumor mill even though he was on a South American tour with Slash and McKagan when the Internet chatter first reached him. After he confronted Duff, the bassist told him: "Axl [Rose, GUNS N' ROSES frontman] wants to use his drummer [Frank Ferrer]." "Go to Axl and tell him you want me on drums," Sorum responded. "Period. Now's the time." "Oh, man," Duff replied. "I already signed the deal."
Sorum told Rolling Stone that he has gotten over the fact that he will probably never play with GUNS N' ROSES again. "I've come to terms with the fact that they're doing their own thing, and I'm doing mine," he said. "I can't say that when it went down, I was completely happy with the circumstances. At the same time, I feel really good about my time in the band."
Asked why he thinks he wasn't invited on the reunion tour, Matt said: "I think Axl is a loyal guy. He likes his band he's had for a long time. He didn't look at it that way. … If anyone in that band is loyal, it's probably him. He was like, 'I'm going to bring my guy [Frank Ferrer]. If I get Slash, that's cool. If I get Duff, that's cool too. And that's enough.' That's how it went down, and that's what they're doing."
Matt also said that he was invited to appear as a guest on the GUNS N' ROSES reunion tour but that he didn't do it because there was no money involved. Asked if he would show up and do it if he was approached about it again, he said: "I guess I'd have to wait until that call comes to make that decision. Right now, I have a baby and I'm nesting. I have a lot of different things going on in my life. I just produced Billy Gibbons's new record. I'm about to start my own. I have six startup companies. I'm a busy guy. It's gotta be what works with my life. I feel really good about my time in the band. And I always thank GUNS N' ROSES for my legacy going forward."
GN'R's hugely successful reunion features Rose, Slash and McKagan alongside Ferrer, keyboardist Dizzy Reed, guitarist Richard Fortus and second keyboardist Melissa Reese.
Sorum, who replaced Steven Adler in GUNS N' ROSES, recorded the albums "Use Your Illusion I" and "Use Your Illusion II" (both 1991) and "The Spaghetti Incident" (1994). He also supported the group on the "Use Your Illusion" tour and can be heard on GUNS N' ROSES' "Live Era: '87-'93" (1999) and "Greatest Hits" (2004).
Matt was among the GUNS N' ROSES members who were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in April 2012. He, Adler, Slash and McKagan attended the ceremony, while Rose and founding guitarist Izzy Stradlin stayed home.
Sorum told The Pulse Of Radio in a 2009 interview that if the classic GUNS N' ROSES band reunited, they should perform with both him and Adler. "If it's me on drums or Steven or whatever, if it happened, it'd be great, you know," he said. "I would actually say to them, 'Hey, bring both of us back,' you know. Let me play the other stuff. We'll have two drum kits. I don't care. If 'Appetite [For Destruction]' [the band's debut] sounds better with Steven playing it, have both guys up there. They can afford it."
Back in 2018, Izzy blamed his non-involvement with the GUNS N' ROSES reunion tour on the fact that he and the other guys in the band were unable "to reach a happy middle ground through the negotiation process." He also previously claimed that he stepped away from the reunion because the band didn't want to "split the loot equally."
"Double Talkin' Jive: True Rock 'N' Roll Stories" came out via Rare Bird Books.
Sorum is currently promoting the first-ever album with his all-star musical collective KINGS OF CHAOS. The first single and video from KINGS OF CHAOS, "Judgement Day", was made available last month. The track was performed and co-written by Sorum and his VELVET REVOLVER bandmates Slash, Dave Kushner and McKagan, and features the Rock And Roll Hall Of Famer on drums, as well as lead vocals.

THE OFFSPRING Releases Second Christmas Song, 'Bells Will Be Ringing (Please Come Home For Christmas)'THE OFFSPRING has released "Bells Will Be Ringing (Please Come Home For Christmas)", a take on the Charles Brown holiday classic "Please Come Home For Christmas". It is THE OFFSPRING's second Christmas single, following the November 2020 release of the band's rendition of the 1963 Darlene Love classic "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)".
"We've always loved the classic Charles Brown version of this song and think it's really underappreciated," THE OFFSPRING frontman Bryan "Dexter" Holland says. "We thought it would be the perfect follow up to 'Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)' in continuing on the coming home for Christmas theme."
Written in 1960 and released the same year by the Texan blues singer and pianist Charles Brown, "Please Come Home For Christmas" was made famous by THE EAGLES in 1978. The song was also covered by Jon Bon Jovi on the 1992 holiday album "A Very Special Christmas 2".
Two months ago, Holland confirmed that THE OFFSPRING is already working on the follow-up to last year's "Let The Bad Times Roll" album.
"Let The Bad Times Roll" has been a huge global success, hitting career-high chart debuts with seven top 5 and ten top 10 international debuts and nine top ten debuts in the U.S. The album peaked at No. 3 on the U.K. chart and hit No. 1 on the Alternative Albums chart in the U.S.
Frequently regarded as one of the best rock bands of all time, THE OFFSPRING have garnered a reputation for their unmistakable sound and social comment. The multi-platinum band first achieved worldwide success in the 1990s with the release of their album "Smash", which sold over 11 million copies. Following "Smash", they continued to release hit after hit, popularizing rock at a mainstream level.
Throughout THE OFFSPRING's career, they've sold over a staggering 40 million albums, and toured arenas, and built a global fan base. "Let The Bad Times Roll" marks the band's tenth studio album and third album produced by the legendary Bob Rock.
Originally formed under the name MANIC SUBSIDAL, THE OFFSPRING's lineup consists of Holland, guitarist Kevin "Noodles" Wasserman and bassist Todd Morse. THE OFFSPRING is often credited — alongside fellow California bands GREEN DAY and RANCID — for reviving mainstream interest in rock in the 1990s.

NEW FOUND GLORY Announces Acoustic Album 'Make The Most Of It'Pop punk legends NEW FOUND GLORY have announced their new acoustic album, "Make The Most Of It", due out January 20 via Revelation Records. The LP features seven brand new tracks written in the wake of guitarist Chad Gilbert's cancer diagnosis, including new single and music video "Dream Born Again", alongside seven live acoustic versions of fan favorites.
Mixed by Mark Trombino (BLINK-182, JIMMY EAT WORLD),"Make The Most Of It" is a rumination on what it means to grieve, to live, to approach every day with appreciation and a sense of fulfillment.
In December 2021, fresh off the celebratory "Pop Punk's Still Not Dead" tour in support of NEW FOUND GLORY's tenth album, "Forever + Ever x Infinity", Gilbert was found unresponsive in bed at home, rushed to a local hospital, and diagnosed with an eight-inch cancerous tumor, a rare pheochromocytoma. Hospital stays, surgery, and a long road to recovery followed — but, in typical NEW FOUND GLORY fashion, so did the songs.
"I didn't want this to be the 'cancer record' originally," Gilbert admits. "But when we went on tour and people started hearing the story and connecting to it, I gave up on trying to control the narrative. Not all bands are dealt these cards, but we were. Let's take these songs and help the disease get awareness and raise money for a cause that's working on education and research for my rare cancer."
A percentage of proceeds from "Make The Most Of It" will go to The Pheo Para Alliance, the longest standing internationally recognized leader in advocacy for, and awareness of, pheochromocytoma.
"Even though the songs are sadder, they're still hopeful," Gilbert says. "You hear so much online about mental health and fear and anxiety. I feel proud that we can release an album with joy and honesty in a way that will hopefully make people less fearful of life. A lot of times we punish ourselves for things that might never happen. I'm going through something that did happen, but doing it with hope and joy and a greater appreciation."
"Make The Most Of It" track listing:
01. Dream Born Again
02. Mouth To Mouth
03. Get Me Home
04. Watch The Lilies Grow
05. More Than Enough
06. Kiss The Floor
07. Bloom
08. Understatement
09. All Downhill From Here
10. Dressed To Kill
11. The Story So Far
12. Failures Not Flattering
13. My Friends Over You
14. Hit Or Miss
As NEW FOUND GLORY can attest, life moves quickly. Just three years after forming in Coral Springs, Florida, in 1997, the group were fast-tracked from local upstarts to mainstream stars on the back of ebullient pop melodies and hardcore-tinged breakdowns, setting off a blast of pop-punk dynamite that still lights the torch for modern acts more than two decades later. They became the voice of an underground movement, spurring iconic gold and platinum records (2000's "New Found Glory", 2002's "Sticks & Stones" and 2004's "Catalyst"),countless MTV appearances, an entire subgenre (easycore) and sold-out tours the world over.
"Make The Most Of It" tackles the last year head-on with their most emotional and cathartic collection of songs to date.
In many ways, it's remarkable it took NEW FOUND GLORY 25 years to release an acoustic album. Masters of stop-gap invention — from the ever-popular "From The Screen To Your Stereo" movie theme cover EPs to their hardcore alter egos INTERNATIONAL SUPERHEROES OF HARDCORE — the band have balanced the impulses of new and nostalgic better than nearly every one of their peers.
That continues on "Make The Most Of It", which also features live versions of seven NEW FOUND GLORY classics recorded in Nashville in 2022 during the band's "NFG Unplugged Total Request Livestream & Concert". The live session tones down the caustic energy of a NEW FOUND GLORY show but strips the band down to their bare essentials: Jordan Pundik's unmistakable vocal and wholly resonant songwriting. When the band lead the audience through a sing-along on their very first single, "Hit Or Miss", it's hard not to get choked up at how important NEW FOUND GLORY still is to fans 25 years in.
NEW FOUND GLORY is Jordan Pundik (lead vocals),Chad Gilbert (guitar),Ian Grushka (bass guitar) and Cyrus Bolooki (drums).

OZZY OSBOURNE Is Open To Making More Music With TONY IOMMI, But Not As BLACK SABBATHOn this week's edition of "Ozzy Speaks" on SiriusXM, Ozzy Osbourne was asked by co-host Billy Morrison if the singer's recent collaboration with Tony Iommi might lead to new music from BLACK SABBATH. He responded: "No, not more BLACK SABBATH. But I wouldn't say no to do some more with Tony. BLACK SABBATH is a completely different music to what I'm into now."
Ozzy went on to say that working with Tony on "Degradation Rules", one of their collaborative tracks from Osbourne's latest album, "Patient Number 9", "was great. I mean, now you don't have to sit in a room; you can do it over the phone," he said. "That track would have been a great BLACK SABBATH track on the '13' album. I wasn't really in love with that '13' album."
Asked by Morrison if that means that SABBATH is over and done with, Ozzy said: "Well, it's kind of, like, how many times do you wanna do the same… it's the same format, you know? It was very successful for a lot of years, and people wanted to see us. I did that farewell tour. And the only thing about that which was sad [was that original SABBATH] Bill Ward wasn't there. But I've spoken to Bill since. He's all right. I would work with any of them individually. But as BLACK SABBATH, I think it's [over]. We couldn't really beat what we've already done."
In an episode of the documentary series about the making of "Patient Number 9", Iommi was asked about the possibility of making more music with his SABBATH bandmate.
"I think we've got a different way now — we've got more relationship going over the last couple of years than we've had for a long time… because we've become freer now," Iommi said. "There's not the SABBATH thing there that we've got to do. We're in contact virtually every week. … It's just different now to how it was, and it's been good. It's been really good."
Asked about the "SABBATH nods" in the music he tracked for the album, Tony said: "Yeah, definitely. Well, I don't think I could ever get away from that."
Two months ago, Ozzy told Kerrang! magazine that he would be open to making new music with Tony but not under the SABBATH banner.
"If Ozzy Osbourne and Tony Iommi do an album together, it's going to sound like a SABBATH album," he said. "Tony was the sound of SABBATH. There's no getting away from the fact that, when he plays with me, it'll be some kind of a reflection of that. Maybe the tracks he did on my album was like what SABBATH should have been had we stayed together."
But, he added, "I want to take it away from SABBATH. We put that band to bed. And if he wants to [turn it into another] SABBATH album, I'm not doing it."
He also revealed why Iommi never previously guested on one of his records. "It was just that I never asked him," he said. "I sang on one of his albums [in 2002], but I'd never given it a thought [that he could] play on one of mine, to be honest. It was actually [producer] Andrew [Watt] who said, 'Why don't you ask Tony Iommi if he wants to do something?' I was, like, 'I know he’s going to tell me to go fuck myself.' But you don't know until you ask. When he sent [his tracks] over, I heard them and was just, like, 'Fuck me.'"
The original lineup of SABBATH came together in 1969 with Iommi, Osbourne, Ward and Geezer Butler on bass. That lineup recorded and toured through 1978, and periodically reformed through the '90s and 2000s for live work.
They regrouped again in late 2011 for a new album and tour, although Ward dropped out after a few months over financial issues. SABBATH used Ozzy's regular touring drummer Tommy Clufetos since then for live work. RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE's Brad Wilk laid down the drum tracks on "13", which came out in June 2013.
In February 2017, SABBATH finished "The End" tour in Birmingham, closing out the quartet's groundbreaking 49-year career.
"The End" was SABBATH's last tour because Iommi, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2012 and is currently in remission, can no longer travel for extended amounts of time.
SABBATH wrote and recorded its 2013 reunion album, "13", and toured it all over the world while Iommi was going through treatment for his illness, with the guitarist having to fly back to England every six weeks. 11

Germany's RUNAMOK Unleash New Single "The Hex"Led by guitarist / vocalist Fabian "Fabs" Schwarz, German thrash machine Runamok recently broke 13 years of silence with a new single, "Creeping Beauty", the first taste of a brand new slab of shred and violence entitled The Clown Brigade.
Inspired by metal icons Annihilator, Megadeth and Testament, Runamok unleashed five albums between 2004 and 2009. With a little free time between projects, Fabs decided to pick up where Electric Shock ended in 2009, resulting in a record that shreds mercilessly from top to bottom and has more hooks than a fishing boat, remaining catchy and melodic. Simply put, from "Creeping Beauty" to the crushing "D.I.L.L.I G.A.F", from the shred n' roll of "The Hex" and "Nailgun Romance" to the high-speed bitchslap takedown of "Damn Your God", "Leech" and "In Regret", The Clown Parade at its core is good, loud, mean and unrelenting fun.
The way metal is supposed to be.
The Clown Brigade will be available for download on November 25th.
Check out the new single "The Hex" below. Pick it up here along with the first two singles, "Creeping Beauty" and "Damn Your God".

TEETH Release Music Video For New Single "EyesHornsMouth"Highly influenced by discomfort, there can be no compromise in the structure of what Ontario, Canada hardcore/metal quartet, Teeth, are producing because what flows from them is purely honest, and quite unlike anything that has been heard before. Their adherence to this artistic integrity is a huge part of what caught the eye of heavy metal foundry, Nuclear Blast Records.
Today, the band releases the music video for their new single, "EyesHornsMouth", which can be viewed below.
The band comments, "EyesHornsMouth is a song that encapsulates spiraling out of control - tapping into your darkest judgments and inhibitions. It takes you for a ride and drags you down the rabbit hole of questionable places in your mind. When I fucking die, don’t bury me take me home. Home is hell. EHM is the devil's advocate that resides on your shoulder, or in this case, both shoulders. It combines everything that is TEETH while leaning even further into our violent, uncomfortable, disgusting roots, so naturally we felt it'd be the perfect first single via Nuclear Blast.”
Purchase/stream the new single here.
"EyesHornsMouth" was produced and engineered by Davis Maxwell & Teeth on September 1st, 2020 with Lance Prenc handling the mixing and mastering. The cover artwork for the single was created by Heavy Sleeper Co.
Recently, the band released the 575 EP which contains four already-released songs. The EP was produced and engineered by Davis Maxwell & Teeth at Bell Tower Studios in September 2019. The cover artwork was created by Orupting (Madison Roger). Order here.
Tracklisting:
"Destroyer"
"Filth "
"Smother"
"Deathrace"
Teeth are of the philosophy that every subsequent part of the song needs to be more disgusting, uncomfortable, and nasty than the part before it. “It’s supposed to feel frantic; super visceral and aggressive,” explains Prince. “Pain is an adhesive, and in a time where there’s a lot of pent up emotion towards friends, family, everything around us... it gives people a nice vehicle to air their grievances.”
Only a couple of things remain to be seen with Teeth: when will their new album drop, and what bands can you look forward to seeing them grace the stage with? Keep your eyes on Nuclear Blast Records and Teeth socials for updates.
Teeth is:
Chris LeMasters - Guitarist
Blake Louis Prince - Vocals
Marc Quagliarini - Bass
Mat Stewart - Drums

TALLAH Streaming New Song "Dicker's Done"; AudioTallah will release their sophomore album, The Generation Of Danger, on November 18 via Earache Records. Listen to the album track, "Dicker's Done", below:
The Generation Of Danger, much like their debut album, Matriphagy, will revolve around an elaborate and horrific story dreamt up by the band, that continues to unfold in the build up to release. Pre-orders are available now at this location.
The Generation Of Danger is a concept album about a genius scientist who gets fed up with being swept under the rug. After the multi-billion-dollar corporation that employs him takes credit for his latest, award-winning invention, he snaps and retaliates against them by forcing them to take part in the greatest experiment the world of science has ever seen.
The record offers fans more than just an album of pioneering nu-core metal. Whilst it will most certainly be lauded for Justin Bonitz's acclaimed aptitude for embodying numerous characters and emotions in his outstanding vocal shape-shifting and ability to meld the ever-blossoming ingenuity of Tallah's intrepid musicians, The Generation Of Danger will reward those who delve deeper into the album and its supplementary content. The album was recorded once more with producer Josh Schroeder at Random Awesome Studio and continues to build the fascinatingly dark nu-core metal beast Tallah have created and set loose.

SCATTERED STORM Pay Music Homage To Star Wars With "Seen" Music VideoEl Paso, TX's Scattered Storm etched their way into the metal scene last year with their debut, Oblivion, and now they have returned with a darker, more proggy offering with In This Dying Sun, out Friday, November 11 via Blood Blast Distribution (powered by Nuclear Blast and Believe Digital).
Showing a certain evolution from the previous effort, they still implement a lot of their core elements which are ambiance, groove, and melodies, but with this new record, they felt the need to explore faster tempos with machine gun-like riffs.
They explain the EP further: “We never lost track of the bigness, especially with Tue Madsen mixing and mastering this record. In our talks, we really emphasized that to him, even though songs are faster, we still want them to sound huge. And boy did he deliver. Sonically this record has been the best one. Madsen was even kind enough to feature the title track for his drum sample pack through Drum Forge because he really dug the song.”
Part of their evolution can be attributed to bringing in their new bass player Brian Fausnaugh full fold. He had recorded previously with them on some songs, so it was a no-brainer. Lyrically, they still draw from books, movies, series, and whatever piques their interests. This EP is intended to be a journey, discussing evolution, putting yourself back together, and the teachings of Yoda.
Today, in celebration of the release of In This Dying Sun, Scattered Storm is sharing their new music video for the EP's closer, "Seen", a musical and lyrical homage to Star Wars.
"This was a very complex song to write vocals to. Because it has many changes. Many ups and downs. Overall it is a very dark song. Its slow riffs and rhythms make it feel like you are in Darth Vader's home. We used a lot of Star Wars references in this song. Yoda’s teachings. The evolution of being good but then going to a dark place. Fear is the path we yell. As Fear leads to anger, anger leads to pain, and pain leads to suffering. All indications that you are pretty much heading to a dark place." adds drummer Jay Arriaga.
Heavy and futuristic, Scattered Storm is recommended for a wide variety of metalheads as they encompass s good blend of the sludge from Meshuggah, the ambiance of Tesseract, and the epicness of Devin Townsend, and are influenced by bands like Fear Factory and Mnemic

“Bloody Love”
“The Process”

DEEP PURPLE Live In Poland; Official Aftermovie StreamingDeep Purple performed at Atlas Arena in Łódź, Poland on October 12. Metal Mind Productions has released an official aftermovie, which can be viewed below:
Following the news in July that Steve Morse will be stepping back from the band after more than a quarter of a century, Deep Purple announced that, following an abundant summer of touring, Simon McBride will join the band permanently.
Collectively, the band stated: “We are thrilled that Simon has agreed to join. Simon’s playing is up there with the greats. Of course, Steve can’t be replaced, the same as Ritchie, and Steve has a long legacy with Deep Purple. In Simon we have not found a replacement, but an extraordinarily talented and exciting guitarist in his own right. The reception from audiences over the Summer has already been great and we are looking forward to the forthcoming dates in the UK and Europe across the rest of the year. It is clear that Simon also holds great respect for those before him. We are all excited for what the years to come hold for the band.”
Simon stated: “I'm very happy to be asked to join the band, at the start of the pandemic if someone would have said to me that I was going to be the new guitarist in Deep Purple I would have just laughed, but here we are and it's happening. Deep Purple has a history of great guitarists so I’m very honoured to be asked to be part of that. They are all amazing musicians and more importantly, I have become very good friends with the guys so I can't wait to continue touring and even perhaps some writing and recording.” 11

LION'S SHARE Release "Run For Your Life" Single And Lyric VideoSwedish heavy metal band, Lion’s Share, has made a new song, "Run For Your Life", available on streaming services and digital service providers. Watch a lyric video below.
Guitarist Lars Chriss commented: "These heavy and doomy riffs are what's closest to my heart and what comes out most natural when I pick up a guitar and play. I love how this song came out and how the different parts are like a reaction to the previous one. Like an epic journey through different moods."
In late 2018, Lion's Share released a new five-track EP, plus its complete catalog - remastered with new artwork - on streaming services and digital service providers for the first time. The band have since released a few more digital singles, some of which will and some of which won't end up on the forthcoming full-length album.
Singer Nils Patrik Johansson: "Since both Lars and I are huge fans of the Stranger Things TV series, we wanted to write something to show our love. Stranger Things is truly a show for eighties metal nerds like us. We also hired awarded video maker Niklas Nieminen to make a lyric video that captures the style of the show."
Both Johansson and Chriss remark that they have always worked very well together, and at this point it feels the most natural to keep Lion's Share as a duo, with friends helping out wherever needed.
"We are aware our fans want a new album and the plan was to release one in 2020, but we all know what happened then. We had just started playing live again with a couple of headline shows in Germany in March and were gearing up towards a new album and tour. Since we think it's very important to tour behind a new album, we just have to wait until things go back to “normal” again". Until then, we plan to release a new single every 2-3 months and keep building our fan base."
The Lion’s Share catalog features appearances by members and ex-members of KISS, Megadeth, King Diamond, Hammerfall, Symphony X, Chimaira, Therion, Yngwie Malmsteen, and Candlemass. Mixers include top engineers such as Jens Bogren (Arch Enemy, Opeth, Symphony X, Amon Amarth) - Niklas Flyckt (one-time Grammy Award winner and four-time nominee) and Ronny Lahti (Roxette, Europe, Glenn Hughes).
Lion’s Share has toured with bands like Motörhead, Manowar, Dio, Saxon, Iced Earth, Nevermore, U.D.O. (ex-Accept), Dee Snider (Twisted Sister) and has played many of the major rock and metal festivals.
