British rockers BRING ME THE HORIZON have released the official music video for their new single, "Teardrops". The track is taken from the band's upcoming album, "Post Human: Survival Horror", which is due on October 30. The nine-song effort will include the previously released singles "Obey", "Ludens" and "Parasite Eve", as well as new collaborations with NOVA TWINS, BABYMETAL and EVANESCENCE's Amy Lee.
The "Teardrops" clip was directed by frontman Oliver Sykes, who says about the track: "It is my favorite song off the record. I'm so excited to get this single out. It feels like a classic BRING ME THE HORIZON tune but without it feeling like anything we've done before. I feel like 'Teardrops' is some of the best work we've ever done, musically and lyrically as whole."
"Post Human: Survival Horror" track listing:
01. Dear Diary
02. Parasite Eve
03. Teardrops
04. Obey (feat. Yungblud)
05. Itch For The Cure (When We Will Be Free?)
06. IXI (feat. NOVA TWINS)
07. Kingslayer (feat. BABYMETAL)
08. Ludens
09. One Day The Only Butterflies Left Will Be In Your Chest As You March Towards Your Death (feat. Amy Lee)
This past June, Sykes told Kerrang! magazine about the band's new music: "Like [2019's] 'Amo' [album] was very collage-y in terms of it spanning from ballads to poppy songs to heavier songs to electro, we wanted this next record to be a mood. As the pandemic unfolded and everything changed, the mood I had in mind started to not feel right. Basically, I had this idea to make some records — I didn't know how many, but more than one — that all fell under a blanket name of 'Post Human'. Each record would have its own theme and its own message. The first was going to be about compassion and self-love because I wanted to build up to a record about changing ourselves and changing our future because we need to self-evolve. We can't just say, 'We are humans. This is how it is,' because as humans, we've already stepped outside of the food chain by bringing technology into our lives. We need to continue to modify ourselves until we can be proud of what we do on this planet and live harmoniously, not just with ourselves but other creatures. That's the message I wanted to put out there, but I know the world's not ready for that on the grand scale. First, we need people to love themselves. There's too many people out there that hate themselves, and I always think, 'If you don't have compassion for yourselves, how're you going to have compassion for other people?'
"But as the pandemic unfolded, I didn't think the world was ready for that record. Just like everyone else, I'm pissed off, I'm scared, I'm angry… we need to write a record that embodies that. Before we get to compassion, we need to get out the frustration and anger. This first record's going to be battle songs, like a recruitment record — songs of anger and hope. It's not going to offer a solution, it's going to be more about asking people to come and find a solution with us. This first music is to get you back up, get your blood pumping, get you pissed off and thinking about what's going on. The record will follow a similar tone of 'Ludens' and 'Parasite Eve' and that's going to be the first record of four. We're going to release four different records over the next year, all under this name 'Post Human', and they'll all be very different. There'll be a thread, and the lyrical themes will progress as a story, but in terms of the tone, it'll be quite different."
BRING ME THE HORIZON spent the last few months writing and recording new music remotely, releasing a series of videos that show how the band has managed to work on the songs during the coronavirus pandemic.
BRING ME THE HORIZON's acclaimed sixth album, "Amo", came out nearly two years ago.
Kentucky rockers BLACK STONE CHERRY have released the official Mike Rodway-directed music video for their new song "In Love With The Pain". The track is taken from the band's upcoming seventh studio album, "The Human Condition", which is due on October 30 via Mascot Label Group. The collection will be available in digital, deluxe CD and vinyl formats, with an array of music and merch bundle options and a U.K.-exclusive purple vinyl, which you can pre-order now at this location.
BLACK STONE CHERRY states: "'In Love With The Pain' is one of the unexpected classics that we didn’t even know we needed! We wrote that song years ago with a couple friends of ours, Scott Lindsey and Stephen Styles, with the intention to pitch it to another artist. However, it kept making its way back into our minds while listening to old demos. So we decided to give it a chance and re-worked it to put our BSC stamp on it, and we are so happy we did! It’s now a favorite!"
"The Human Condition" was produced by the bandmembers themselves and tracked in BSC bassist Jon Lawhon's recording facility, Monocle Studios. The release was completed mere days before the COVID-19 lockdown was imposed and as events progressed, it became apparent that the album the band was completing featured lyrics that were eerily prescient.
"There was a real urgency and fear of the unknown during those sessions — it was a scary time," recalls drummer John Fred Young. "Every song on this album tells a story of the experiences we all go through — our happiness, our struggles, and how we have to adapt."
Guitarist Ben Wells says: "With this one, we cranked up the amps, the drums are in your face, and there are some really heavy riffs. After 19 years and seven albums, we wanted to prove that we still kick ass. This album feels like a rebirth."
Adds Lawhon: "When I listen back to this record, I feel all these different emotions. We started when we were teens, and life has taken its course, especially now. Through it all, your heart and your perspectives change, but one thing that hasn't changed is our connection as friends."
BLACK STONE CHERRY vocalist/guitarist Chris Robertson discussed the band's new disc during an episode of "Cherry Chat", also featuring SHINEDOWN. Speaking about the making of the new LP, Chris said: "We were literally finishing [the] record right when all the stay-at-home stuff came down [due to the coronavirus pandemic]. We were scheduled to go back in on a Monday, 'cause we were taking weekends off. We worked through the weekend and finished everything up, because come Monday, you couldn't do shit anymore, man. We got really lucky that it came down that close. But now we're sitting here with a record, finishing to get it mixed, and you can't go tour, you can't do shit."
He continued: "Our monitor engineer, Jordan [Westfall], came down and engineered the whole record, and we decided to have him mix the thing, man. He took the record home with him to his studio to mix and fucking killed it, man."
Robertson also talked about the inspiration for BLACK STONE CHERRY's new album, saying: "The last record we did, 'Family Tree', it was way more 'jam band'-y and kind of classic rock-oriented, to where the new record is nothing like that. The new record, it's funny — when Jordan was mixing it, we were, like, 'Hey, man, when you reference it, make sure you reference your all's last record" — referring to SHINEDOWN's "Attention Attention" — "and a bunch of other records, man, because the last couple of records we've done haven't been necessarily in the same kind of genre, per se, as what you guys do. We haven't been in that heavy rock category on the last couple of releases we've done; we've done more of a blues-oriented thing. And it's been a lot of fun, man. But with the new record, we decided to kick the shit back up a notch again. And it's awesome, man. We're excited for people to hear it."
Swedish rockers REFUSED will release new EP, "The Malignant Fire", on November 20. The effort contains four new songs and one album track, including "Born On The Outs", which can be streamed below.
Covering EDM legends SWEDISH HOUSE MAFIA's hit "Greyhound" might seem a bit out of the ordinary, but REFUSED crafted lyrics for the otherwise instrumental track, and along with the video, have become the architects of the REFUSED version called "Born On The Outs" in typical, catchy REFUSED fashion.
"Kris [Steen, guitars] has talked about the riff in the SWEDISH HOUSE MAFIA song 'Greyhound' forever, so we decided to give it our own spin," singer Dennis Lyxzén says. "[Drummer] David [Sandström] and I added some lyrics for this version, which we've called 'Born On The Outs'. Make no mistake though; this is very much 'Greyhound'. But with added lyrics about people who refused to take a side in the ongoing fight against fascism. So, you know, another ordinary REFUSED song."
As for the EP, Lyxzén shares: "There are certain traditions within the REFUSED camp and one of the sturdiest is the idea that after every album there comes an EP. This time, however, I think that we outdid ourselves. 'Malfire' is my favorite song of the record so it's more than fitting that we shine some extra light on that. This EP was supposed to be something that was released before a tour but in these weird times that tour never happened. However, this still a great EP that follows a great record. More than ever, we need music to lead the way when things are the darkest. Here's a little attempt from us."
Alongside "Born On The Outs" and "Malfire", "The Malignant Fire" EP is rounded out with three brand new songs from the band.
The EP will be available on all streaming sites, as well as on vinyl, which can be purchased here with some exclusive t-shirt bundle options.
"The Malignant Fire" EP track listing:
01. Malfire
02. Born On The Outs
03. Organic Organic Organic (Go Fuck Yourself)
04. Faceless Corporate Violence
05. Jackals Can't Be Bothered To Dream
Formed in Umeå, Sweden in 1991, hardcore-punk legends REFUSED are one of the most influential rock bands of the early '00s. Artists as diverse as LINKIN PARK, RISE AGAINST, STEVE AOKI, PARAMORE, THURSDAY, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, BLINK-182 and AFI have been cited the band as being a fundamental influence on their musical styles. "The Shape Of Punk To Come" has become a cultural touchstone for the entire post-hardcore generation as the year zero of stylistic genre-bending — utilizing electronics, jazz and slick production for the first time, and their reputation tent-poled by politically radical lyrics and solidified by their energetic live shows to spread their message.
After a 14-year pause, the band reunited in 2012, playing much-anticipated shows like mainstream festival Coachella and were subsequently awarded the "Special Prize for Music Exports" by the Swedish Ministry of Trade in 2013. In 2015, they released their fourth studio album "Freedom", which was recorded with Nick Launay (NICK CAVE AND THE BAD SEEDS, KILLING JOKE), while also turning to Swedish pop/producer Shellback, whose credits include Taylor Swift and Britney Spears, for the lead single "Elektra". In late 2019, their fifth full-length studio album, "War Music", was released to massive critical acclaim.
WARRIOR SOUL will release a covers album called "Cocaine And Other Good Stuff" on November 13 via Livewire/Cargo Records. The LP is preceded by a single, a cover of Alice Cooper's "Elected", the official music video for which can be seen below.
"Cocaine And Other Good Stuff" is an incendiary compilation of songs that everyone in the band, both current and previous members, had some input choosing, and it shows true honesty in the recordings, making it a fresh take on some very listenable rock jams.
Says singer Kory Clarke: "We wanted to make a record that was not about all the crap we are all living in, as it seems like a well-worn path for. So, I had to think out of the box."
The album was recorded all over the western world (Edinburgh, Scotland; Newcastle, England, Copenhagen, Denmark; Los Angeles; New York; Chicago; Detroit; Sheffield, England; Costa Blanca, Torrevieja, Spain) in home studios.
Track listing:
01. Good Times Roll (Ocasek)
02. Cocaine (Cale)
03. Crosstown Traffic (Hendrix)
04. Cold Gin (Frehley)
05. D.O.A. (Van Halen, Van Halen, Anthony, Roth)
06. Elected (Cooper, Buxton, Bruce, Dunaway, Smith)
07. Outlaw (Kilmister, Campbell, Dee)
08. Firehouse (Stanley)
09. Get Down Tonight (Casey, Finch)
10. We're An American Band (Brewer)
11. Living After Midnight (Halford, Downing, Tipton)
The idea for a covers album started when Clarke was contacted by legendary rock photographer, Alex Ruffini's brother, enquiring if WARRIOR SOUL would record a cover of a KISS song, which was Alex Ruffini's favorite band, for a tribute in aid of cancer research. WARRIOR SOUL recorded "Cold Gin". Once the band started recording, it sounded really positive and they decided to assemble a complete record of covers ranging from MOTÖRHEAD to KC AND THE SUNSHINE BAND.
Says Clarke: "I contacted many of the musicians who have played with WARRIOR SOUL recently and asked if they wanted to be part of it. Everyone was very much up for it and ready to go. We called John Dryland at Livewire/Cargo Records, and he said, 'Of course, go for it. The irony of recording 'Good Times Roll' during a global pandemic really works as you can hear the sneer of sarcasm right through every chorus."
WARRIOR SOUL is known for recording some electrifying covers previously, including songs by JOY DIVISION, Iggy Pop and David Bowie. Kory Clarke has performed on several compilation and tribute albums singing other acts songs but this is the first complete album of its kind from WARRIOR SOUL.
In the new video below, The Dead Daisies rhythm guitarist David Lowy performs a playthrough of the band's latest single, "Bustle And Flow":
Glenn Hughes performs a playthrough of "Bustle And Flow":
Rock bands have always used music videos to express their creativity and innovation, “Bustle And Flow” is no exception.
The Dead Daisies have collaborated with Creative Works (London), a branding and content studio (live concert graphic artists for Guns N’ Roses and Aerosmith, amongst others) to provide the latest visuals for “Bustle And Flow”. Together they are forging new ground creating narrative driven real-time immersive visual and music content, that spans live, social and digital channels. This Animated Music Experience (A.M.E) uses the Unreal Engine game engine that is behind the worldwide online video game phenomenon Fortnite, amongst others.
The Dead Daisies are always looking for original ideas and providing unique experiences for their fans. This new offering taps into the gaming aesthetic that dominates the globe and enables the band to connect with audiences of all ages, whilst remaining on the cutting edge of technology.
A spellbinding animation sets the backdrop for the song from their upcoming album, Holy Ground which will be released January 22, 2021.
In this dark, fiery tale a Mysterious Woman arrives at the entrance of a foreboding Sideshow Carnival that has pitched up on the outskirts of town in the grounds of an old dilapidated church graveyard. With stealth and speed on her side, the Raven deals out her punishment outwitting her prey at every turn and subjecting her quarry to a swift demise.
“Filled with energy and vigor, 'BustleAand Flow' emerged as one of the last tracks to make the cut. It builds and builds and has great movement. The song and the video are about walking through the fear,” says vocalist and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Glenn Hughes.
The Animated Music Experience can be seen below:
Lineup:
Vocals/Bass: Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Black Country Communion)
Guitar: Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake, Dio)
Guitar: David Lowy (Mink, Red Phoenix)
Drums/Vocals: Deen Castronovo (Journey, Bad English, Hardline)
Legendary Norwegian outfit TrollfesT is back, ready to deliver their groovy, energizing and K.A.O.S-infused sound to the masses! After gathering millions of streams on YouTube and Spotify, TrollfesT will be joining Napalm Records for the next chapter of their career.
Since forming in 2003, the band has played numerous shows all around the world, making appearances at Wacken Open Air, 70000 Tons Of Metal and Summer Breeze, sharing the stage with Alestorm, Wintersun, Korplikaani and Finntroll, making a name for themselves as the pioneers of True Norwegian Balkan Metal!
In True Norwegian Balkan K.A.O.S., TrollfesT release an energizing and bombastic re-recording of their classic “Der Jegermeister” to celebrate their signing to Napalm Records. “Der Jegermeister” is the magnificent, brilliant, wisdom super troll that loves to hunt and drink, and is a fan favorite at live shows! This re-recording will get you moshing on your sofa, raiding the kitchen for alcohol or wherever mother, wife, husband, partner, dog or cats hide them. Trolls never hide alcohol.
Watch the latest music video for “Der Jegermeister” below:
TrollfesT on signing with Napalm Records: “There are few things more welcome than good news in tumultuous times and with that in mind it is with unbridled joy that we announce our signing to Napalm Records. We are excitedly excited about this excitement and have overwhelmingly positive feelings of exuberance toward this endeavour. It is a pure honour to work with such legends. Gleefully chipper and tremendously exalted, we cannot wait for the next chapter of TrollfesT history where world domination, millionaire status, private airplanes and studios built of beer are sure to only be the minor ingredients, that or we will continue to roam the outskirts of obscurity. Either way, we will enjoy ourselves stupendously.”
New York metal band Letter Of Marque has released their official music video for “White Lie”.
“Making this video truly helped us emphasize what we want the people to understand. One bad decision can last for generations,” says the band.
Letter Of Marque was founded over the summer of 2016 by Matt Gund (Vocals), Vinny Antonelli (Rhythm Guitar), and Jeff Pritchard (Cello/Lead Guitar). The band was originally called "Out In The Open" due to the bands very "out there" style of metal. After cycling through a few other names, the band decided "Letter Of Marque" was the best fit. This decision was solidified when vocalist Matt Gund got "Letter Of Marque" tattooed on his ring finger in April 2018, essentially becoming married to the band.
Griffin McCarthy joined the band as the drummer at the start of 2017. We knew after just one practice that he was a perfect fit for the band. He is still with us to this day, and continues to shock the band with his talent on not only the drums, but piano as well.
In November 2018, the band finished recording their debut album Outbreak at Westfall Recording Studio, which was released in June 2019. Reese Ortenberg recorded all bass tracks for this album.
In July 2019, Derek Lankeaux joined the band as the bass guitar player.
England-based post-metalcore quintet ARCHITECTS will release its ninth studio album, "For Those That Wish To Exist", on February 26 via Epitaph. The record arrives as the follow-up to the band's critically acclaimed 2018 release "Holy Hell", which took a look at the pain and despair that lay at the heart of losing a brother, bandmate, and best friend in Tom Searle, the group's founding guitarist.
On "For Those That Wish To Exist", ARCHITECTS examine the part we are all playing in the world's slow destruction, and tackle the biggest questions facing the future of our planet. Such concerns that have long been prevalent in the music of a band who have continually championed and shared their platform with causes such as Sea Shepherd, are outspoken critics of barbaric exercises such as fox hunting, and who focus on sustainability in everything from their touring to merch production.
The record's 15-tracks hang in a limbo between energizing positivity that it is not too late to correct our collective course, and a paralyzing negativity of defeatism; where hope and despondency are bed-fellows triggered daily by the simple act of existence. A reflection of human condition, "For Those That Wish To Exist" calls for all of us to rise to challenge established models and strive for a collective betterment.
"This album was me looking at our inability to change to a way of life that would sustain the human race and save the planet," summarizes principal songwriter Dan Searle. "I wanted to look in the mirror and ask ourselves the question of what are we going to do, as opposed to trying to point the finger at politicians. Change has to start on a personal level. The world has developed a culture of wanting someone else to deal with it, when we need to take our own responsibility. It has to start there."
Yesterday, the band shared the first glimpse at the forthcoming record with the release of the first single, "Animals".
"For Those That Wish To Exist" track listing:
01. Do You Dream Of Armageddon?
02. Black Lungs
03. Giving Blood
04. Discourse Is Dead
05. Dead Butterflies
06. An Ordinary Extinction
07. Impermanence (feat Winston McCall of PARKWAY DRIVE)
08. Flight Without Feathers
09. Little Wonder (feat. Mike Kerr of ROYAL BLOOD)
10. Animals
11. Libertine
12. Goliath (feat. Simon Neil of BIFFY CLYRO)
13. Demi God
14. Meteor
15. Dying Is Absolutely Safe
ARCHITECTS is vocalist Sam Carter, drummer Dan Searle, bassist Ali Dean and guitarists Josh Middleton and Adam Christianson.
An acoustic version of the song "Black Eyes Blue" from Corey Taylor can be streamed below. The original track is taken from the SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR frontman's debut solo album, "CMFT", which was released on October 2 via Roadrunner Records. Taylor recorded the effort with his band consisting of Jason Christopher on bass, Dustin Schoenhofer on drums, and Zach Throne and Christian Martucci (STONE SOUR) on guitar. The LP was completed at Kevin Churko's The Hideout Recording Studio in Las Vegas with producer Jay Ruston, who has previously worked with ANTHRAX, STEEL PANTHER and STONE SOUR, among others.
"I love what I've done in the past, I love the projects that I've been attached to, but this, honestly, was probably the most enjoyable album that I've done since the first SLIPKNOT album," Corey told Kerrang! magazine. "There was such a sense of, 'We're doing it together.' I hadn't felt anything like that for a really long time, man. People grow apart, relationships become fractious… people stop liking each other sometimes, in certain bands, you know? But with this, it was totally different, because we were all friends before that. We just happened to all play together, and then we formed a band around that friendship, and it all really galvanized it."
On "CMFT", Taylor touches on lifelong influences ranging from hard rock to classic rock, punk rock to hip-hop.
"I was talking to my wife about this the other day — I was, like, 'Fuck! There's nobody for me to hide behind!'" Corey told Kerrang! "It's easy to take risks when you have the benefit of a well-established name — and by that, I mean the bands that I've been in for 20 years. But I also feel like I've earned the right to put something out there and throw people for a loop — not only with the things that I've done with both bands, but the guest spots that I've done with several bands: everybody from TONIGHT ALIVE to Zakk Wylde to Tech N9ne. I mean, I've really spread out, in a cool way. I've never sequestered myself to one corner of the genre; I've never allowed myself to be painted into a corner. And I think because of that, people's minds are a lot more open when they hear that I'm putting something out. They're gonna come into it with this mindset of, 'Okay, I don't know what the fuck I'm about to hear. This should be interesting. I think by doing that, that really sets the tone for your career."
Earlier in the year, SLIPKNOT canceled all of its previously announced summer 2020 tour dates, including the "Knotfest Roadshow", Knotfest UK and Knotfest At Sea, due to the coronavirus pandemic which is sweeping the globe.
SLAVES ON DOPE's Jason Rockman and Kevin Jardine present a brand-new cover project called THE KINGS OF QUARANTINE alongside a veritable who's who of rock and rap artists. Their first release is a song from one of the most celebrated modern rock bands, FAITH NO MORE, with a rendition of "We Care A Lot". The video features a myriad of artists such as Frank Bello (ANTHRAX), Ray Luzier (KORN), Bill Kelliher (MASTODON), Ivan Doruschuk (MEN WITHOUT HATS), Dennis Lyxén (REFUSED), Walter Shreifels (QUICKSAND), Kevin Sharp (BRUTAL TRUTH), Darryl McDaniels (RUN-D.M.C.), Esoteric (CZARFACE), Richard Patrick (FILTER) and Raine Maida (OUR LADY PEACE). The video also features a guest appearance from FAITH NO MORE's founding member and bass player Billy Gould delivering a special message.
The project came together after a discussion between Jason and Bill about possibly doing a cover song together. Jason then went back to his longtime music partner Kevin Jardine and picked their favourite band FAITH NO MORE with the song "We Care A Lot".
"Kevin and I have always been massive fans of FAITH NO MORE, and having the opportunity to cover one of their songs with such great company has been a dream come true. We are so grateful to all the musicians involved that accepted our invitation," says Rockman.
The music industry has been severely touched by the unprecedented COVID-19 crisis. Artists, creators, and musicians have had to find new fun ways to remain sane in the creative sphere.
"We did this because we care a lot about everyone! Especially those who put their lives on the line to make sure we are okay," adds McDaniels.
"I care a lot about being part of this amazing cover. It's an honor and a privilege. To be rubbing elbows with the likes of these gentlemen makes me feel very proud," says Patrick.
A digital version of the song is available for purchase. One hundred percent of the profits will be donated to Roadie Relief, a fundraising effort to support qualifying roadies who have submitted an application for financial help.
With only 14 days left until one of the most important elections in American history, MINISTRY's Al Jourgensen is encouraging fans to "Git Up, Get Out 'N Vote" by whatever means necessary ahead of the November 3 deadline. Today, MINISTRY releases a brand-new video to spread the message, using the music and lyrics from the notorious song that originally appeared on the band's 2012 release "Relapse".
Stay tuned to MINISTRY's official social media accounts (@WeAreMinistry) the next two Tuesdays (October 27 and November 3) for additional surprises that will launch leading up to Election Day.
To provide the perfect soundtrack to get fans engaged in the upcoming voting season, MINISTRY has also created a new playlist, "The Soundtrack To Your Election", available now on Spotify. With 30 powerful selections, the playlist features personal favorites of Jourgensen as well as MINISTRY's own rally cries including new single "Alert Level" and tracks from the highly politicized album "AmeriKKKant", the band's most recent full-length release.
Jourgensen has spent decades using his music to rally fans and listeners to the fight for equal rights, restoring American liberties, exposing exploitation and putting crooked politicians in their rightful place. Songs like "Thieves", "Lies, Lies, Lies" and "N.W.O." have taken on political corruption and the societal constructs that led to historic events like 9/11 and the 1992 Los Angeles riots while the George W. Bush administration spurred an entire trilogy from the industrial godfather.
With America still on the brink, Jourgensen has re-entered the studio to create his missives that will become material for a to-be-announced new album on Nuclear Blast Records. The first taste, "Alert Level" was released in April, and asked fans to be part of the larger conversation by answering the question posed by the song, "How concerned are you?" Many of the videos have been shared across MINISTRY's social media pages as the band and Jourgensen encourage fans to remain engaged and informed in 2020.
The official music video for "Dying To Live", a new song from SEVENDUST, can be seen below. The clip was directed by Jensen Noen, known for his work with FALLING IN REVERSE, CROWN THE EMPIRE and ASKING ALEXANDRIA, to name a few. The track is taken from SEVENDUST's 13th studio album, "Blood & Stone", which will be released on October 23 via Rise Records. The follow-up to 2018's "All I See Is War" was once again tracked at Studio Barbarosa in Gotha, Florida with producer Michael "Elvis" Baskette, who has previously worked with ALTER BRIDGE and SLASH, among others.
From the pulsating intro of opener "Dying To Live" to the album-closing cover of SOUNDGARDEN's "The Day I Tried To Live", SEVENDUST continues to push the sound it has made their own for more than 25 years. Tracks like "Love", "Blood From A Stone", "Kill Me" and "Against The World" showcases why the band has been adored by fans and critics alike. Lajon Witherspoon, Clint Lowery, John Connolly, Vince Hornsby and Morgan Rose have raised the bar with "Blood & Stone". The new music fits perfectly alongside with the bands most seminal tracks that have become the cornerstone of the band's live performances.
Lowery spoke about the new SEVENDUST LP in an interview with Front Row Entertainment Live. The guitarist/vocalist said: "I think this is one of our strongest records in a while. I'm proud of all the music we do. Every band likes to say, 'Oh, yeah, the new record is the best one we've ever done.' I think it's a very reflective record for where we're at musically, where we're at as a band. So that's always a goal. I think we just wanna be genuine. We don't wanna put out a dud record. Not everyone's gonna like it; we understand that. We just try to do what we do best. We're not the heaviest band in the world; we're not a pop-rock band at all either. We're just this aggressive band that has our own thing, and we stay true to that."
"Blood & Stone" track listing:
01. Dying To Live
02. Love
03. Blood From A Stone
04. Feel Like Going On
05. What You've Become

Miley Cyrus is working on an album of METALLICA covers.
The pop star revealed her latest project during a chat with Interview magazine. Speaking about how she has been spending her downtime during the COVID-19 pandemic, she said: "We've been working on a METALLICA cover album and I'm here working on that. We're so lucky to be able to continue to work on our art during all of this. At first, it felt uninspiring and now I've been totally ignited."
Miley previously performed a cover of METALLICA's "Nothing Else Matters" at U.K.'s Glastonbury festival in 2019.
Cyrus's rendition of the METALLICA classic — which can be heard below — came five months after drummer Lars Ulrich said that he was "stunned" by her take on TEMPLE OF THE DOG's "Say Hello 2 Heaven" at the "I Am The Highway: A Tribute To Chris Cornell" concert at the Forum in Los Angeles.
Back in January 2019, Ulrich took to his Instagram to post a photo of him backstage with Cyrus, along with the message: "Still stunned by your next level version of 'Say Hello 2 Heaven' for Chris! Beyond inspiring."
Not all evil is wicked...especially when it comes with a pedigree, is presented in a fantastic bottle, and was curated by a metal band that has a proven track record for choosing some excellent spirits. Such is the case with ANTHRAX's "Evil Twin I" and "Evil Twin II", the band's brand new, limited-edition, award-winning, high-end Double Cask Ryes. Only one barrel of each spirit will be produced, yielding 238 numbered bottles for "Evil Twin I" at cask strength of 120.1 proof. As "Evil Twin II" has not yet been "dumped," the number of bottles and cask strength for it will be announced shortly. For a Happy Halloween, "Evil Twin I" is available to order starting today at Mash and Grape, and, if ordered before October 23, delivery can be expected by October 31. Details for ordering "Evil Twin II" will be announced shortly, and can be expected to arrive on your doorstep in time to help make your year-end holidays a little brighter.
Both "Evil Twin I" and "Evil Twin II" were produced by Hillrock Estate Distillery, located in the luxuriant Hudson Valley Highlands in New York State. "Both of these whiskeys are delicious," said ANTHRAX's Scott Ian, who recently went up to Hillrock to check out the process, from the planting to distilling to the bottling. He sampled eight different rye whiskey barrels, and personally 'pulled the bung,' emptying the 'Evil Twin I' barrel. Check out the video below.
"All eight were different from each other as every barrel expresses itself differently," Scott explained, "and I chose my two favorites. The barrel that became Evil Twin I showed off espresso, caramel, vanilla and spice — the barrel that became Evil Twin II had maple, cinnamon, clove and black pepper notes that all played together really well — both barrels were delicious so we decided to do both! I'd put these ryes up against any rye on the market. The care and attention that went in to both of them, every step of the way, from field to glass, from the harvesting of the estate-grown rye to the distillation, to the beautiful bottles and the labels, each was made with the highest levels of perfection."
"We're so happy to be working again with ANTHRAX," said Hillrock Estates' owners Cathy Franklin and Jeffrey Baker. "We had a lot of fun with the whole band on 'The Healer' bourbon earlier this year, and were impressed by their appreciation for delicious spirits during those tastings. With 'Evil I' and 'II', it was great that Scott was able to come up to Hillrock and be really involved in finding the perfect blends for 'Evil I' and 'Evil II'. We're sure ANTHRAX fans will enjoy both."
"Evil Twin I" and "Evil Twin II" mark the second time ANTHRAX has worked with Hillrock Estate, as it produced the band's signature bourbon, "The Healer", this past June. Explained Ian: "We decided to release another whiskey because it seemed like people were very happy with 'The Healer'. Where 'The Healer' bourbon was extremely approachable and smooth, the 'Evil Twins' are spicier, sweeter, richer, stronger, and bolder. So, when we say 'Evil Twin,' we mean it in a great way."
"The Healer", along with the band's first two bourbon whiskeys, 2014's "Indians" and 2015's "The Devil You Know", sold out within two days.
ANTHRAX has been writing new material for the band's next release, expected out in 2021. The new album will follow ANTHRAX's 2016 release, "For All Kings", the critically acclaimed, 11th studio album that became ANTHRAX's highest-charting debut in two decades when it entered Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart at No. 9.
The official lyric video for "Cut The Strings", the new single from FIRSTBORNE, the band featuring Grammy Award-winning artist Chris Adler and fellow MEGADETH alum James LoMenzo, can be seen below. The track is the follow-up to FIRSTBORNE's self-titled debut EP, which came out earlier this year and marked the acclaimed drummer's first dedicated band release since his departure from MEGADETH and LAMB OF GOD.
FIRSTBORNE features Girish Pradhan on vocals and guitar, Myrone on guitar, LoMenzo on bass, and Adler on drums.
Pradhan stated about "Cut The Strings": "Every time there's a force that challenges the most fundamental right of a human being — freedom — music has always served as the voice of the common person. The special existence of humans in the world has music right in the heart of it."
The FIRSTBORNE self-titled EP included five songs and two lyric videos. The EP represented several years of dedicated introspection and refined effort to the idea of a heavy and positive message.
As might be expected, Adler chose his bandmates in this endeavor meticulously.
Recently, Adler shared the stage across the Middle East with LoMenzo in HAIL! Prior to that, LoMenzo and Adler orbited each other for years traveling together on tours crossing the globe. The connect was inevitable.
Adler and Myrone began collaborating in early 2019 after Myrone noticed Adler's e-mail address attached to a Bandcamp sales notification email. Adler had been a fan of Myrone's talent for years prior and as soon as they connected, it was game on.
A chance meeting in India, almost a second home to Chris after eight visits, was the spark needed to form the international group FIRSTBORNE and for Chris to return to the studio. Adler met and shared the stage with Pradhan during a six-week clinic tour of India in the fall of 2019. After the first show of the clinic tour, Adler immediately called Myrone, noting he'd "struck gold" in their search for a singer for the then-unnamed project.
Girish Pradhan is the glue that united FIRSTBORNE. Pradhan on vocals represents an almost unprecedented international collaboration.
Pradhan is an established and well-known recording and touring artist in India and resides in Bengaluru. His band GIRISH AND THE CHRONICLES made international headlines earlier this year with their new album "Rock The Highway" and music videos "Rock 'N Roll Is Here to Stay", "Identity Crisis" and "Rock The Highway".
Speaking on his experience creating with FIRSTBORNE, Myrone explains: "Every single part of this experience has been extremely surreal for me. Girish is one of the best metal vocalists on the planet, Chris is one of the most influential drummers of the last 25 years, and JLO can play anything from MEGADETH to John Fogerty to Motown and everything in between. I can't believe I get to share space on a .wav with them."
Myrone is a Los Angeles-based producer/guitarist who pioneered the "soft shred" genre. In the last six years, he has released seven albums and two EPs of instrumental guitar music and racked up millions of Spotify streams. In addition to his own recordings, he has collaborated with Rivers Cuomo (WEEZER), SZA, Little Boots, Michael Christmas and Deaton Chris Anthony. Most recently, Myrone was Guitar #1 in the L.A. production of "Rock Of Ages", the 29th-longest running show in Broadway history.
LoMenzo is a veteran touring/recording musician since his multi-platinum band WHITE LION in the 1980s. Lomenzo is one of the most in-demand rock bass players in the world. His list of credits includes WHITE LION, Zakk Wylde's BLACK LABEL SOCIETY/PRIDE & GLORY, MEGADETH, Jerry Cantrell, David Lee Roth, SLASH'S SNAKEPIT, LYNCH MOB, FREHEY'S COMET and more. Recently he's been the touring/recording bassist for the legendary John Fogerty and can be seen in the live concert film "John Fogerty : My Fifty Year Trip" recorded live at Red Rocks.
LoMenzo had this to say about his collaboration within his new band, FIRSTBORNE: "I first met Chris in 2006 on MEGADETH's 'Gigantour'. I was playing bass with MEGADETH at the time. Watching Chris on that tour, I recall being struck by the creativity, speed and power of his drumming with LAMB OF GOD. In contrast, I found him to be a gentle, thoughtful soul. Years later, I had the opportunity to finally play with Chris, performing in the Middle East with the all-star metal band HAIL! We had a great time. At this time, Chris mentioned he was looking forward to exploring making all kinds of music. I suggested he keep me in mind. Next thing I know I'm being introduced to Myrone through a demo that Chris forwarded to me. I was immediately drawn to the music. Myrone's guitar is uniquely untethered to any one style. He's a brilliant and capable amalgam of classic rock, new and classic metal. Girish on top of all this had me stunned! A soaring, powerful voice that while uniquely his own, conjures images of the greatest singers of metal, blues and classic rock. His voice is a powerful, emotive vehicle to inform through his heartfelt and socially conscious lyrics. To my ear, the combination of all this musical talent is wonderfully unique and perfectly familiar. I'm very proud and excited for music fans to hear this new musical collaboration."
Adler added: "I've been incredibly fortunate in my creative endeavors. From the start, I sought out the best players I could find to work alongside. It's been an incredible journey that is clearly not over. Some things have changed. This may not be exactly what people expect from me right now, and I'm aware and embrace that. It's time for something new. I'm have a platform to present something important, true and collaborative. Creating FIRSTBORNE beckons cohesiveness as a mission statement. This is not about being mad all the time, egos or fabricating polarizing drama. 'This is right' is now my alarm clock. Girish, Myrone and James have the exact locker room mentality of 'kill 'em all! but let's make sure everyone is okay and having a kick-ass time' that I try and bring to everything I do. FIRSTBONE is the result of all of my experiences, both positive and negative, and I'm proud of what we are doing together."
Adler is a Grammy-winning American metal drummer from Richmond, Virginia. Chris founded LAMB OF GOD in 1994 and helped usher in what critics have dubbed the "New Wave Of American Heavy Metal." LAMB OF GOD's discography with Chris includes multiple gold records and platinum DVDs as well as five Grammy nominations.
Chris received a Grammy for playing drums on legendary thrash metal band MEGADETH's 2016 record "Dystopia". Chris also toured with MEGADETH in support of the record while juggling and occasionally combining tour dates with LAMB OF GOD.
Chris has collaborated and contributed to records with PROTEST THE HERO, TESTAMENT, THAIKKUDAM BRIDGE, Michael Angelo Batio and Ron Jarzombek.
In 2018, Chris created an artist management firm Kintsugi Management.
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH guitarist Zoltan Bathory has denied the band's new music video has an anti-mask message.
Late last night (Thursday, October 15), FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH released the official clip for "Living the Dream", a song off the group's latest album, "F8". Almost immediately, the Las Vegas-based metallers were accused of taking an anti-mask stance with the video, which includes a scene where mask-wearers are given a button that says "Compliant" and features the hammer-and-sickle logo often associated with communism. The female political figure handing out the buttons, meanwhile, doesn't have to wear a mask, as her button reads "Exempt". There are also zombies hoarding toilet paper, and gimps who are walked on a chain by the "Exempt" leader. The American flag can be seen later seen in the video with the stars replaced by the hammer-and-sickle logo.
Earlier tonight (Friday, October 16), Bathory released a statement via his Facebook page in which he shot down criticism of the video's supposed "anti-mask" message, insisting that the clip portrays "a fictional story" based on "a dystopian nightmare of one of the founding fathers," and explaining that the video is meant to highlight "hypocrisy on the highest level."
Zoltan wrote: "As much as some *news sites* used 'anti-mask' as a clickbait title (And I must applaud the capitalist in them or I myself would be a hypocrite) Let's make this crystal clear: In a fictional story, Amongst shopping cart zombies, Tide Pod eating fat superheroes and all the other metaphors, why would anyone think the mask scene isn't one.
"The scene in question is not about the masks... it's NOT an Anti-Mask message... in fact you can go to FiveFingerDeathPunch.com right now and buy some cool ones...
"If I must explain this, the whole video is in the frame work of fiction, a dystopian nightmare of one of the founding fathers - right before he signs the constitution.
"Just as I prefaced it: We as artists, have a unique opportunity to portray and ridicule the absurd to prevent it from *becoming* reality.
"The mask segments are about hypocrisy on the highest level. When the rules are made for you but those who made them are exempt. Pretty much the standard in all dictatorships and totalitarian regimes (I had the displeasure of growing up in one) hence the reference.
"I often say, ask us!!! The immigrants... the Cubans, the Venezuelans, the North Koreans, anyone from the former Soviet block... Talk to us and we will tell you .... WE were lucky, because we had a place to escape to. We are fortunate that we could come here.... but If America is gone, where will you go? We immigrants also remember how our freedom slipped away, how our rights were ripped from us, how we were kept under the thumb and in fear of our own governments. So maybe, just maybe... we have valuable experience we can tell you about, we can forewarn you of the things we have seen before.
"So We the people must do everything in our power to stay free as a society. We must prevent the rise of tyranny in all shapes and forms, we must resist the would be dictators and the totalitarian ideals. This is what the founding fathers worried about and tried to prevent by creating the constitution.
"Believe it. America is a miracle, and I LOVE this country... and I will never shut up about it.
"Anyway - not anti mask - and If you reduced this entire video to that scene and missed the metaphor behind it ... Well... the good news is - It is STILL America so you have the right to have and even print your own opinion."
Mask wearing has been a hot-button issue in the U.S. as lawmakers continue to push for their constituents to wear face coverings to limit the spread of coronavirus. Months after his own advisers recommended it, President Donald Trump finally wore a mask in public for the first time in July during a visit to wounded service members at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
This past summer, the U.S. Surgeon General urged people to wear face coverings, saying they will promote freedom during the coronavirus pandemic.
In a study published in June, researchers from Texas A&M University, the California Institute of Technology and the University of California San Diego, concluded "that wearing of face masks in public corresponds to the most effective means to prevent interhuman transmission."
Earlier this week, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH confirmed that it officially parted ways with guitarist Jason Hook back in February 2020, during the band's sold-out European arena tour. He has since been replaced by renowned British virtuoso Andy James, who is also featured on "Broken World", one of the five previously unreleased tracks on FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's latest greatest-hits collection, "Decade Of Destruction, Volume 2".
