THE FLOWER KINGS Premier "Mother Earth" Music Video; New Album Out Now

The Flower Kings have released their 16th studio album, Look At You Now. Nearing 30 years as a band, the group once again embraces vintage vibes and the warm, inviting sounds reminiscent of legendary and classic 70's albums. Look At You Now is a stunning collection that will transport you to a bygone era of rock with swirling synths & guitars and thematic long-form pieces.

A video for the song, "Mother Earth", can be viewed below.

Roine Stolt comments on the new single: "'“Mother Earth' is the 3rd ’single’ from our new album; a song written by our bass man Michael Stolt - with help from Jannica Lund. A song looking at our environmental crises - at a time when we see them unfolding with terrifying precision - while our leaders seem to be ignoring much of the urgency of these matters. The “looking at us NOW” - is real - we’re nearing the eye of the storm and yet profit goes before concern about our wounded planet. A time for healing is imminent. So, enjoy our new single boys and girls - this track is a free agent but also a part of our new concept piece."

Their latest studio album Shrine was released in the summer of 2022, marking the band's most groundbreaking work to date and staking out Bleed From Within's bold intent. The Scottish 5-piece claiming their position as the most exciting prospect in modern metal.

Ali Richardson stated, "It's been an amazing year for us since the release of Shrine! As the touring schedule started to fill up, we truly began to appreciate the effect the album was having on our career so we put this idea in motion of releasing a Deluxe Edition for our fans. The 3 new songs that can be found here were very nearly a part of the initial release. They're all very different in their composition and many arguments were had whilst settling on our final tracklisting. "The Will To Resist" takes the lead single here as a band favorite. I'm sure its intensity will resonate with our audience. You can visit our website to pre-order your copy of the limited edition vinyl and check out the merchandise we've put together alongside it. METALLICA Shares Pro-Shot Video Of 'For Whom the Bell Tolls' Performance From Arlington During 'M72' Tour

Professionally filmed video of METALLICA performing the song "For Whom the Bell Tolls" on August 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas can be seen below.

METALLICA's two-night stand at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas last month was livestreamed to movie theaters across the globe. It marked METALLICA's first appearance in Texas since November 2021, when the band played before, during and after a Triad Combat event at Globe Life Field.

As previously reported, METALLICA rescheduled its September 3 show in Arizona after frontman James Hetfield tested positive for COVID. The concert, part of the band's two-year "M72" world tour, was held six days later, on Saturday, September 9. The band previously cut its September 1 show at State Farm Stadium short by two songs as a result of Hetfield's "vocal issues".

METALLICA drew nearly 80,000 fans to the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on August 25 at the first of the band's two shows at the venue. It was the biggest crowd in the history of the SoCal stadium, which opened in September 2020. The San Francisco Bay Area-based metal legends drew a similarly sized capacity crowd on August 27.

Fans purchased more than 156,000 tickets for the two-concert stand, which was part of METALLICA's "M72" world tour.

The "M72" tour features a bold new in-the-round stage design that relocates the famed METALLICA Snake Pit to center stage, allowing promoters to sell more tickets than usual. And since METALLICA's stage is hollow in the center, there is even more space available to accommodate fans.

According to Billboard, METALLICA's giant ring-shaped stage also includes eight towers of monitors and speakers, with each of the towers is anchored by a raised platform that doubles as VIP seating, with eight folding chairs decorated with the black-and-yellow color scheme of the band's new album, "72 Seasons".

The "M72" tour launched in late April in Amsterdam.

A portion of proceeds from the shows go to METALLICA's All Within My Hands foundation, which seeks to assist and enrich the lives of members of the communities who have supported the band and combat food insecurity; provides disaster relief; and bestows scholarships.

METALLICA's production travels in 87 trucks — 45 for the band and its setup, plus two groups of 21 each for the steel stage and towers. There are 130 people in the band's crew, plus 40 steelworkers, local hires and truck drivers.

METALLICA's manager Cliff Burnstein told Billboard that between 80% and 90% of fans at each concert are attending both shows.

⚡ Secure your seats now for two incredible nights of the M72 World Tour Live from Arlington, TX, broadcasting to cinemas...

LORD OF THE LOST Release Official Video For "No Respect For Disrespect" Single

Lord Of The Lost have released an official music video for their track, “No Respect For Disrespect”, cut from the band’s current album, Blood & Glitter (#1 Official German Album Charts). The mix of creative video submissions from LOTL fans - the band received more than 500 fan videos - as well as clips of the band themselves performing the song at home is sure to entertain and provide a big “Thank You” to the fans worldwide who have supported the band for all these years.

2023 has been a very busy year for Lord Of The Lost, including huge highlights such as representing Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest in May, providing direct tour support for Iron Maiden, several sold out headline shows, and a summer full of big festival appearances.

Lord Of The Lost on “No Respect For Disrespect”:

"How far can tolerance go when it tolerates intolerance? 'No Respect For Disrespect' is a song about the tolerance paradox and eloquently and reflectively says: ‘This far and no further'. Since this topic affects us all, it was important for us to make this video with as many wonderful people from our audience as possible. Because without all these people we are nothing and only together we are strong!"

When conjuring the concept of Blood & Glitter, Lord Of The Lost was inspired by the eponymous work of legendary music photographer Mick Rock, known for taking a large majority of the most famous photos of musicians in the 70s glam rock era. Lord Of The Lost visually immerse themselves in the lifestyle of that era and combine it with the new wave and pop sound of the 80s, building on their own familiar dark metal foundation. The result: a glamorous party with critical and direct messages.

Chris Harms says about the album release: "In a time when the marketing madness for each album seems to last longer and longer, when half the album - or even more - is already known six months in advance through pre-released singles, so that the high pre-release sales generate the highest possible chart result, what it should actually be about - the pure magic of hearing a new album of your favorite band for the first time - is becoming more and more lost. We want to transport this "like the old days" feeling through this surprise release! Fuck the charts, playlist pitches and 1,000 pointless reviews in advance. What matters is what an album means in the long run, not how high its "value" is on release day."

Blood & Glitter tracklisting:

"Blood & Glitter"
"Leave Your Hate In The Comments"
"Absolute Attitude"
"The Future Of A Past Life"
"No Respect For Disrespect"
"Reset The Preset"

WHITESNAKE Shares Music Video For Remixed Version Of 'Lay Down, Stay Down' From 'The Purple Album: Special Gold Edition'

The official music video for the remixed version of "Lay Down, Stay Down", taken from WHITESNAKE's upcoming "The Purple Album: Special Gold Edition", can be seen below.

About "Lay Down, Stay Down", WHITESNAKE frontman David Coverdale says: "'Lay Down, Stay Down' was one of the first songs I wrote with Ritchie Blackmore at his house in Camberley, Surrey… I took the music demo home to Redcar, on the North East coast, where I maintained an apartment overlooking the North Sea… Glenn Hughes drove up from Cannock in the Midlands to hang out, and we messed around with the lyrics… It's a lyric about dealing with bullies… an aspect of the human condition I despise… I can't tell you the original 'working' title I had, as it's quite disgusting… It's about fighting back and not taking any shit from anybody… One of my favorite Ritchie guitar riffs from the 'Burn' album… and my guys totally drive it, as it should be driven…absolute balls to the wall…Super scorching solo from the incendiary Joel Hoekstra and the band firing on all six cylinders… Super new video put together, especially for this new GOLD celebration… N.B… Not Responsible For Speeding Tickets!!!"

Coverdale was a relatively unknown 21-year-old singer-songwriter when he joined DEEP PURPLE in 1973. He went on to record three classic albums alongside the Rock And Roll Hall Of Famers before embarking on his musical journey a few years later with his band, WHITESNAKE.

Coverdale is celebrating the 50th anniversary of his DEEP PURPLE debut this year with a special version of "The Purple Album", WHITESNAKE's tribute to his three-year tenure with the legendary group. This newly remixed, remastered, and expanded edition of the 2015 album features previously unreleased recordings, including the very demo that secured Coverdale's spot with DEEP PURPLE.

"The Purple Album: Special Gold Edition" arrives on October 13 as a 2-CD/Blu-ray set for $29.98 and a 2-LP set on resplendent gold vinyl for $36.98. The new remix of "Burn" is available today digitally.

Coverdale recorded "The Purple Album" with guitarist Reb Beach, bassist Michael Devin, guitarist Joel Hoekstra (on his first WHITESNAKE album),and drummer Tommy Aldridge, reappearing on a WHITESNAKE studio album for the first time since 1989's "Slip Of The Tongue". The band cherry-picked gems from "Burn" (1974),"Stormbringer" (1974) and "Come Taste The Band" (1975),delivering inspired takes on fan favorites like "Lay Down Stay Down", "Lady Double Dealer" and "You Keep On Moving".

The 2-CD/Blu-ray version of "The Purple Album: Special Gold Edition" goes beyond the original with the addition of live recordings and concert videos from "The Purple Tour" ("The Gypsy", "Mistreated"),official music videos ("Sail Away", "You Fool No One"),and an assortment of previously unreleased material, including six alternate mixes of album tracks. The Blu-ray also offers a behind-the-scenes look at the album's making and a song-by-song commentary by Coverdale.

An exciting addition to the upcoming collection is the four-song demo Coverdale submitted to DEEP PURPLE, hoping to become the band's next singer. Recorded in 1972 with his former band, THE FABULOSA BROTHERS, the reel-to-reel tape was extensively restored after Coverdale stumbled upon it among his late mother's belongings. In the album's liner notes, Coverdale says: "I had no idea my Mam had the tape…For me, to open my Mam's trunk of personal items, 30 years after her passing, was a gift from Heaven." The collection also features several demos Coverdale recorded while working on songs for DEEP PURPLE's 1974 album "Stormbringer".

When "The Purple Album" was originally released, Coverdale told Billboard: "Everyone did their homework, and every performance is done respectfully in honor of [DEEP PURPLE's] musicians. Though I focused on the twin-guitar attack of WHITESNAKE, we had a guest keyboard player because a huge part of the DEEP PURPLE sound was Jon Lord playing that amazing Hammond organ."

He continued: "There were respectful nods to the original musicians throughout the album, and it has come out delightfully. It's a tribute to Jon Lord, Ian Paice and Ritchie Blackmore, who gave me my break in the first place. I'd never even made a record when I joined DEEP PURPLE, and my first record went double gold, which was early platinum. They didn't even have platinum records back in those days!"

Coverdale added: "When we were working on it, each one of my musicians said these songs sounded as if they were written yesterday, and none of them were born when I first recorded them! It's a testament to the songs that they stand up. We've Whitesnaked them up and given them a fresh coat of paint, but it's still the same House of Purple."

Watch: GLENN HUGHES Joined By JOE BONAMASSA And CHAD SMITH At Beverly Hills Concert

Glenn Hughes was joined by Joe Bonamassa and Chad Smith (RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS) during his performance last night (Friday, September 8) at The Canyon Beverly Hills At The Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills, California. Bonamassa and Smith played the DEEP PURPLE classics "Burn" and "Highway Star" with the former PURPLE bassist/vocalist, with Bonamassa — who plays with Hughes in the long-running BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION project — also handling guitar duties during another PURPLE classic, "Mistreated". Fan-filmed video of the concert can be seen below (courtesy of the Brian James YouTube channel).

Glenn kicked off his summer 2023 U.S. tour on August 16 at The Landis in Vineland, New Jersey. Two days later, he teamed up with legendary Swedish guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen for a U.S. co-headlining run.

Hughes, the former bassist, and singer of DEEP PURPLE, known to millions as the "Voice Of Rock", and Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee, recently launched the "Glenn Hughes Performs Classic Deep Purple Live - Celebrating The 50th Anniversary Of The Album Burn" tour.

Glenn is performing DEEP PURPLE's legendary rock album "Burn" and is also playing DEEP PURPLE MKIII and MKIV songs.

Glenn's band features Søren Andersen (guitar),Ash Sheehan (drums) and Bob Fridzema (keyboards).

"It was 50 years ago, in the summer of 1973, that the 'Burn' album by DEEP PURPLE was written at Clearwell Castle in the Forest of Dean Gloucestershire," reminisced Glenn. "It was recorded in October in Montreux, Switzerland. We all became one in this centuries old castle in the U.K. countryside, it felt like DEEP were a new band, with David [Coverdale, vocals] and I as new members, we couldn't wait to start working on new songs. The atmosphere was electric, in such amazing surroundings.

"All the songs on 'Burn' were written in the crypt/dungeon, underneath the great hall," he continued. "We worked on a new song every day, and we were in the flow. Musically we would play, and work out ideas, and David and I would come up with vocal melodies that would later have lyrics. I remember it like it was yesterday.

"As you could imagine, Ritchie Blackmore [guitar] was in full prankster mode, Jon [Lord, keyboards] had warned me, and he rigged my room one night with a speaker that was hidden, and had ghostly voices delivered to my bedside.

"The title track was the last song to be written. We came back from the pub, and went down into the crypt, and magic happened."

Concluded Hughes: "It's time to celebrate 'Burn', and I'm really looking forward to seeing you."

"Burn" is the eighth studio album by the English rock band DEEP PURPLE, written and recorded in 1973, and released in February 1974. The album was the first to feature then-unknown Coverdale on vocals and Hughes, from TRAPEZE, on bass and vocals. "Burn" was recorded in Montreux, Switzerland, in November 1973, with the Rolling Stones Mobile Studio. With the addition of Coverdale and Hughes, DEEP PURPLE's hard rock sound incorporated elements of soul and funk, which would become much more prominent on the follow-up album, "Stormbringer".

The phenomenal "Burn" title track started things off at full throttle and challenged the seminal "Highway Star" for the honor of best opener to any DEEP PURPLE album, while showcasing the always-impressive drumming of Ian Paice. The fantastic slow-boiling blues of "Mistreated"'s greatness qualifies it for the highest echelons of hard rock achievement, and therefore ranks as an essential item in the discography of any self-respecting music fan.

"Burn" hit No. 3 on the U.K. albums chart, No. 9 on the U.S. Billboard 200, and No. 1 in Austria, Denmark, Germany, and Norway.

In 2004 "Burn" was remastered and released with bonus tracks. "Coronarias Redig" was recorded during the "Burn" recording sessions, used only as a B-side for the "Might Just Take Your Life" single in 1974. It appears as a bonus track (in remixed form) on the anniversary edition re-release. The 2004 remix version of "Burn" was later used in "Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock".

In 2005 an unauthorized documentary about the album was produced as part of "The Ultimate Critical Review" series. It featured a brand new interview with Hughes.

NOTHING MORE Release Deluxe Version Of Spirits Album; "Face It" (Live) Video Streaming

3x-Grammy-nominated and gold-certified rock act Nothing More release the deluxe version of their 2022 album, Spirits, via Better Noise Music. Spirits - Deluxe Version features six bonus tracks including three live recordings - the first-ever live releases from the group - captured from their sold-out headlining concert at Irving Plaza in New York, New York. There’s also an EDM remix of “Tired Of Winner” by Ahee & Cymek and two previously released updated singles including “Best Times” featuring Lacey Sturm of Flyleaf. Stream and/or download Spirits - Deluxe Version here

“This is our first-ever, OFFICIAL release, of live recordings from an electric night in NYC,” says frontman Jonny Hawkins. “The relationship we have with our fans is exceptional and the energy from that night really shines through the recordings. We also have an EDM remix of ‘Tired Of Winning,’ an acoustic take on ‘Best Times,’ and last but not least… a duet with the one and only Lacey Sturm from Flyleaf.”

Nothing More - Hawkins (vocals), Mark Vollelunga (guitar), Daniel Oliver (bass), and Ben Anderson (drums) - have also shared the new music video for their snarling, fist-raising anthem “Face It" (Live). Watch below.

“‘Face It’ illustrates a very similar narrative to the amazing story ‘Life of Pi’ by Yann Matel,” elaborates Hawkins. “There are times in our lives when we need to let our dark passenger take control so we can ‘Face It.’ Just like when Pi becomes the tiger when survival is on the line. It’s a pumped up, epic anthem designed to give one the courage to silence their inner angel in order to face their demons; to call on the shadow from the bitter side of truth because the reality is that we are all angels and animals. That’s what makes us human. We are not one or the other, but rather both simultaneously and we know this transformation can’t rely on anyone but ourselves."

Tracklisting:

"Turn It Up Like (Stand In The Fire)"
"Tired Of Winning"
"Ships In The Night"
"You Don’t Know What Love Means"
"Don’t Look Back"
"The Other F Word"
"Face It"
"Best Times"
"Déjà Vu"
"Dream With Me"
"Neverland"
"Valhalla (Too Young To See)"
"Spirits"

Bonus Tracks:

"Best Times" (Acoustic)
"You Don’t Know What Love Means" (Feat. Taylor Acorn) (Piano Version)
"Best Times" (Feat. Lacey Sturm)
"Spirits" (Live)

FUMING MOUTH Reveal Sophomore Album Details; First Single And Video Out Now

Fuming Mouth is back! After years of uncertainty and dire circumstances, the revered and critically praised New England death metal perpetrators have overcome overwhelming obstacles to return this fall for the long-awaited release of their second, full-length album, Last Day Of Sun, that’s due out November 3 via Nuclear Blast.

Following a devastating diagnosis of leukemia in late 2021, vocalist/guitarist Mark Whelan spent nearly a year battling cancer through chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant, and emerged in remission in 2022. Now cancer free, the beloved frontman returns rejuvenated with renewed determination, perspective and creativity in a new lease on life and the band’s most crucial and ferocious record yet.

Commenting on the incoming record, Whelan says: “What started as a fictional concept album became incredibly real. I was facing certain death, but as I kept writing the album it’s theme became clear. You could die tomorrow. Seize the day.”

Today, Fuming Mouth has revealed the record’s first single, "The Silence Beyond Life", and coinciding video.

Adding about the song, Whelan states: “‘The Silence Beyond Life’ is our most melodic and heaviest song to date drawing influence from God Macabre, Gorement, and other melodic Swedish death metal acts of the time like Therion and Cemetary. It’s a song about trying to live while longing to die and overcoming that.”

Stream the single here, and watch the video below. Pre-order the new album here.

"The Silence Beyond Life" video:

A fiery, resurrected rage barrels its way out of hell’s erupting chasms with blistering fury; Fuming Mouth has returned. Lead singer, guitarist, and founder Mark Whelan emerges triumphant after a life-threatening battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, rekindling the inferno of their music with Fuming Mouth's second full-length album, Last Day Of Sun.

What initially began as a full-on, fictional concept album underwent a profound transformation into a concept-reality hybrid, largely influenced by Whelan's harrowing conflict with his health and anear brush with death. Just three weeks away from recording the album, Whelan was struck with a devastating cancer diagnosis. While bravely fighting the illness, he rewrote melodies, drum sections, and lyrics, infusing the music with his personal journey of struggle and hope.

The recording sessions began in October 2022, with Grammy Award winning Kurt Ballou of Converge at his studio, God City, inSalem, Massachusetts. Ballou reached out to Whelan after his battle with cancer and encouraged him to get back to their previously scheduled recording session.Working closely with Ballou in both engineering and production, the band found a wonderful and collaborative experience, as Ballou invested himself wholeheartedly in shaping their sound and vision. Salem itself also helped shape the album, as the Halloween Season had begun. Droves of tourists and residents mixing with people in costume made the streets of Salem seem like Last Day Of Sun had come to life. The city where the Witch Trials took place presented the perfect setting for the album to be recorded.

At the genesis of this record, there was no other artist that could have captured the album's essence better than Mariusz Lewandowski, with whom the band had already established a creative relationship through his work on the cover art of The Grand Descent. Tragically, Mariusz passed away while working on the album artwork, presenting the band with an immense obstacle to overcome. In tribute to his spirit and legacy, they joined forces with the talented artist Stefan Todorovic who crafted an evocative album cover depicting a Faustian city crumbling amidst the gray and sandy storms of the apocalypse. A colossal monster blocks the sun and hovers above the city as it burns, smoky buildings topple to the ground; all a visual representation of the chaos and darkness that permeates the album.

Fuming Mouth stands resilient, a testament to the indomitable human spirit. Amidst the carnage and depression lies a flicker of hope - a beacon of light that emanates from within. But as the last rays of the sun cast their shadow, the question remains. Will the people in Last Day Of Sun survive? Will their worst inhibitions play out, will they rip each other to shreds, will they give up? Will everything they’ve built have been for not? Will they find a way to overcome, or will their panic lead to failure?

Fuming Mouth is:

Mark Whelan - Guitar, Vocals
Andrew Budwey - Guitar
Pat Merson - Bass
James Davis - Drums

NICK D’VIRGILIO, NEAL MORSE & ROSS JENNINGS Launch "Anywhere The Wind Blows" Single And Music Video

Three titans of progressive rock, Nick D’Virgilio (Big Big Train), Neal Morse (Transatlantic, NMB) & Ross Jennings (Haken, Novena) joined forces in 2021 for their Troika album, a record that saw them exploring their love of more acoustic-led music and three-part vocal harmonies. Recently, the band revealed that the follow-up, aptly titled Sophomore, will be released November 10.

Today, the band are pleased to launch the album’s first single, "Anywhere The Wind Blows", and you can watch the video below.

Neal Morse comments: “I was sitting on a beach with a baby acoustic guitar in my hands and the ocean wind blowing on my face, and began to play the opening riff. The rest of the song flowed easily. There was a certain sense of freedom that day that I think comes across in the song. I’m so glad that Nick and Ross wanted to record it because I immediately thought of them. The sense of freedom that I had that day…I hope it fills the hearts of the people who are listening to the song.  It’s a good feeling…”

Sophomore will be available on Limited CD Edition (incl. 2 bonus tracks), Ltd Gatefold Transparent Red LP, Ltd Gatefold Transparent Blue LP & as Digital Album. Pre-order here.

Tracklisting:

"Hard To Be Easy"
"Linger At The Edge Of My Memory"
"Tiny Little Fires"
"Right Where You Should Be"
"The Weary One"
"Mama"
"I’m Not Afraid"
"Weighs Me Down"
"Walking On Water"
"Anywhere The Wind Blows"
"Right Where You Should Be" (Alternative Version)*
"The Weary One" (Alternative Version)*

* CD bonus tracks

"Anywhere The Wind Blows" video:

The three musicians began trading song ideas in late 2022, before choosing 10 of those to record in January 2023. “I think there was always a plan in the back of everybody's minds about doing a second one. We just got the conversation started and then started checking out some tunes. There were a lot of songs that were a little less fleshed out than with the first album, but once we got the ball rolling, it kind of went really fast”, says Nick D’Virgilio.

For the three members, this group serves as something different for all of them. Morse explains, “I've never been part of a group that was like this one. Most people know I'm a big CSN fan and I love Yes’s three-part harmonies and The Beatles as well. My dad was a choir director, so harmonies are in my blood! DMJ is a special group that is its own unique cup of tea and has such a nice flavor. Great blend. The main thing for me is to be working on good songs; it doesn't matter to me who writes them or necessarily that much about styles. If the songs are good, then I'm all about it.”

Jennings agrees, “I'm a huge fan of country and folk music, I love the three-part harmony style. As a vocalist known for progressive metal releases, prior to forming the band I could never have predicted that I'd be considered to be part of a group making music like this. It's still mind-blowing to me since I'd never officially recorded and released any music of this genre to prove that I can do it. Making these records with Nick and Neal has been such a pleasant and rewarding experience. It's funny how things work out sometimes!”
