NITRATE To Release Feel The Heat Album In October; "Wild In The City" Music Video Posted

British melodic rock band, Nitrate, announces the upcoming release of their fourth studio album, Feel The Heat, on October 13. The first single and video from the album, “Wild In The City”, is out today. Watch the video below.

“We can’t wait for everyone to hear the new album,” explains bassist/founder Nick Hogg. “There is a real buzz of excitement within the Nitrate camp like never before! We can’t wait for the album to finally hit the stores. This is ‘hand on heart’ the best album we have written and recorded, and Tom and James have devoted every waking moment over the past year to make the production the very best it can be.”

Nitrate’s new album, Feel The Heat, boasts 11 anthemic hook filled tracks. Produced and mixed by Martin Bros Productions (Vega), it features a duet and backing vocals by female rock artist Issa, backing vocals by rock legend Paul Laine (Danger Danger/The Defiants), along with a song co/written by legendary song writer Bob Mitchell (co-writer of the Billboard #1 song Cheap Trick’s “The Flame”). There are also backing vocals by Leon Robert Winteringham (LRW Project), Alan Clark (Change of Heart), and a couple of co-writes by Rob Wylde (Midnite City/Tigertailz).

After the success of their last album Renegade (their most successful to date, with well over 1 million streams on Spotify), they return in 2023 with their fourth album, working again with Tom and James Martin (Vega), vocal Swedish sensation Alexander Strandell (Art Nation, Crowne), along with Alex Cooper (Devilfire) on drums and Richard Jacques on guitars.

Formed in 2015 in Nottingham, England by bass player Nick Hogg, Nitrate is a melodic/AOR rock band heavily inspired by the late ‘80s rock scene. Influenced by the likes of Def Leppard, Europe, Journey, and Bon Jovi, they have three critically acclaimed albums already to their name.

HEROES AND MONSTERS Feat. TODD KERNS, STEF BURNS & WILL HUNT Debut "Blame" Music Video

US hard rockers Heroes And Monsters -  bassist/vocalist Todd Kerns, guitarist Stef Burns, and drummer Will Hunt - released their self-titled debut back in January. Today, they release the video for the song "Blame".

A message states: “Shot in Southern California with behind the scenes footage of the guys preparing and working for the shoot. Also live footage from Ravenna Italy at Teatro Socjiale. We love this song!! It’s a killer heavy rhythmic groove and haunting melody. The lyrics talk about how we have to take responsibility for our own decisions, whatever the consequences are."

The players' resumes speak for themselves, but rest assured, if you are looking for hard hitting, hooky, in-your-face rock-n-roll, then Heroes And Monsters will be good for what ails you. The band approaches their style with their influences in tow, but also with an understanding and appreciation of the current rock scene. A best of both worlds' scenario, if you will.

Todd Kerns is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, and producer. He is most noted for being the bass player and backup singer in Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, and for being the frontman of gold-record-selling Canadian band The Age Of Electric. In more recent years, he has been making his mark as a singer-songwriter with sold out solo performances as well as fronting former KISS guitarist Bruce Kulick’s band and his own Canadian supergroup, Toque.

Guitarist Stef Burns has a fantastic and varied history in rock music. He has spent time playing with pop acts like Sheila E., Berlin, and Huey Lewis & The News as well as rock acts like Y&T, whom he recorded four albums with, and Alice Cooper, playing on the albums Hey Stoopid and The Last Temptation. Stef currently plays with Italian rock superstar Vasco Rossi and also has his own band, The Stef Burns League.

Drummer Will Hunt currently resides in the drum throne for Evanescence, whom he first started playing with in 2007, and has performed and written on their last three studio albums, including their most recent release, The Bitter Truth, which debuted at #1 on 27 different countries' album charts. Over the years, the in-demand skinsman has performed with Dark New Day, Skrape, Staind, Vasco Rossi, Vince Neil, Tommy Lee, Slaughter, and more. He has also appeared on albums by Black Label Society, Michael Sweet (Stryper), Crossfade, Dirty Shirley (George Lynch), Device (David Draiman of Disturbed), and more.

RAGE OF LIGHT Release New Single / Video "Touch And Destroy"

Swiss electro-metal powerhouse, Rage Of Light, has dropped their highly anticipated new single, "Touch And Destroy." The explosive track pushes the boundaries of genre, seamlessly fusing the raw intensity of metal with the pulsating energy of electronic music, creating a sensory spectacle that is both groundbreaking and adrenaline-fuelling.

Martyna Halas, the band's lead vocalist, comments:

"Not all that glitters is gold… or is it? We always love a video challenge, and this time, our own Simon Burri took the lead behind the lens. The result couldn’t be complete without the incredible talent of Andy Straubhaar, who is probably still finding golden glitter everywhere! Lyrically and sonically, 'Touch And Destroy' is dark and twisted, setting a relentless pace from the very beginning. We hope listeners will enjoy the wild ride!”

Formed in 2015, Rage Of Light has carved out a unique place in the music scene with their compelling fusion of trance and metal elements. With the release of "Touch And Destroy", the trio further solidifies their standing, introducing progressive elements and new soundscapes that resonate with their signature style.

"Touch And Destroy" is available via digital platforms found here.

Line-up:
Martyna Halas: Vocals
Jonathan Pellet: Synthesizers, Bass, and Additional Vocals

LOKUST Reveal Video For "War Of Opposites"

London-based thrash metal quintet Lokust has issued a music video for a song titled "War Of Opposites", which is taken from the band's first full-length album Infidel, released July 28th on CD and Digital Download.

Featuring 11 tracks, Infidel is a creatively complex and thunderous dose of modern metal, brimming with pummelling drums and bass, shredding guitar riffs and blood-curdling vocals - although simultaneously featuring moments of dynamic introspection and poignancy throughout the album.

"We always meant for Lokust to exist on the border between old-school and contemporary - we use a lot of layering in our songwriting as well as aiming to integrate the full array of what a metal band can do these days, technically and production-wise - but our loyalty to imperfections, raw expression and humanity remains paramount," says the band about this new record.

"We've always aspired to follow in the footsteps of the bands we first fell in love with, who seemed to have a more transparent, expressive way of executing their music, rather than what we perceive as the more careful and polished approach of a lot of bands these days," they add.

Tracklisting:

"(March)"
"The Sin Of Doubt"
"Parasitic"
"Guiltless"
"Anima"
"War Of Opposites"
"(Futile)"
"Vilified"
"Jinn"
"Eradication:One"

GHOSTS OF ATLANTIS Unveil New "Lands Of Snow" Video

Ghosts Of Atlantis has issued a new video for "Lands Of Snow". A beautifully inspired cinematic experience from start to finish. A masterclass in symphonic extreme metal, mythology, and storytelling.

A new Atlantean Storm approaches, and it is here that a new chapter begins. Months have passed since the fall of Atlantis, and the desecration of Lemuria, those fortunate enough to have survived the great war, now face a new challenge. In these lands, nobility holds no weight, all must walk the same path. The clans are tired, confused, hungry, and bereft of hope, for in this cold mysterious place, much is unknown. "Lands Of Snow" is the first chapter in the new story, Riddles Of The Sycophants. Here we learn of the new challenges they will face, the extreme conditions they must overcome, and the new creatures, gods and beasts soon to be Unleashed in to this realm with the eventual opening of Pandora's Box. The story has just begun.

STATE OF DECEIT Drop New Music Video / Single “At What Cost?”

British metalcore, thrash and groove metal band State Of Deceit has issued a new music video and single entitled "At What Cost?". This is the second music video and single taken from their upcoming LP album, Stalked By Daemons, which will be released on October 13, 2023 via Eclipse Records. The album was produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Tim Hamill (Anterior) at Sonic One Studio, and the music video was directed by Aiden Thomas.

“This is a song written closely from the heart, about people and organizations exploiting the health system for profit or political agendas,” says lead vocalist Pete Scammell. “As a person with diabetes, I’ve followed the stories in the United States about massively inflated insulin prices and how that is literally killing people. Here in the United Kingdom, the situation is similar because services have been taken away from my local hospital and relocated an hour away. For many people this increases the cost and ability to receive care, so for many, it is unacceptable. Why do they do these things? For most of us, the answer seems like it is because we live in a different political area. This is why we depicted the Plague Doctor as the villain in the video. It represents the nefarious entities I mentioned above. During the shoot, we had some funny looks during the scenes of The Plague Doctor coming out of the van… with all the smoke coming out people must’ve thought we were hotboxing in there!”

Bassist Davide Santini adds, “'At What Cost?' is a mixture of punchy grooves and melody, so our director Aidan made a very dynamic video to reflect that. My concept of the plague doctor was a perfect fit to match the lyrics and the idea of having an old character to impersonate the modern national health system was an exciting contrast as well. We were very lucky with the location on the day of the shoot. Because the weather was so terrible that day, we were planning to reschedule but Aidan showed us another place that could work, and for us it ended up even better than what we expected! The day was full of surprises, and Pete almost ended up in emergency care due to smoke inhalation because the van scenes were filmed using so much smoke, thankfully he survived the shoot!”

The new album by State Of Deceit is entitled Stalked By Daemons. The riveting full-length release contains ten brutal songs, and it is scheduled for release on October 13, 2023. The album features artwork by Pierre-Alain D of 3mmi Design. Stalked By Daemons delivers the best of all metalcore, thrash, and groove, often in stylistic antithesis that is startling and ultimately satisfying. The intricate rhythm tracks are fascinating mosaics, always evolving in shape and color, and the blistering lead guitar solos paint pictures that leave scars, the aesthetic kind, like treasured ink we pattern into the flesh. The growl vocal is vicious just as the traditional, rich harmonies of the chorus-work are heartfelt and bold. State Of Deceit are the epitome of metal at its core, at its roots.

Tracklisting:

"Endure My Fate"
"Demi-God"
"Stalked By Daemons, Guarded By Angels"
"Hate Within"
"Withered"
"Mark Of The Whale"
"Scorched"
"Suffer Me"
"At What Cost?"
"Digital Tattoo"

Pre-orders can be placed now at this location.

Encore:

15. Fred Bear - 1:25:14

In a recent interview with "THAT Rocks!", the weekly YouTube series hosted by Eddie Trunk, Jim Florentine and Don Jamieson, Ted spoke about his decision to embark on what is being billed as his last-ever tour. Regarding why he doesn't want to spend time on the road anymore, Ted said in part: "Hotels are jail. I hate jail… I will always play music. The music still has fire. I still crave it. I've got new songs. I'm gonna go in the studio with these killer musicians that are always at my side. But traveling, I tell you… A hotel room is jail… The travel and the hotels… And I don't even have to go to TSA [Transportation Security Administration]; I mean, I gave the finger to them in 2009. If somebody doesn't send a jet, I don't go anywhere. My friends are better than your friends, 'cause my friends have jets. So, I'm not TSA and I'm not gonna let somebody fondle my Glock [gun] and ask me questions about gun laws. And hotels are so painful for me… So this tour, like the last 10, I will hub out of our Texas home to play gigs around there. I'll first start in Florida. So I'll hub out of our condo — [my wife] Shemane's got a condo down there, so I can go to all those Florida dates. And then I come back to Michigan and go to Ohio and Indiana and Wisconsin and Illinois and Pennsylvania and Kentucky. And I'm able to hub, so I's still able to spend a lot of time with my kids and my grandkids and my dogs."

Ted went on to clarify that he is not retiring from playing live. "The fire, the music, it will always go on," he said. "I play my guitar every day… And I get to collaborate with the best musicians in the world. So it's always a challenge, it's always intriguing, it's always stimulating. I'm an old man — I'm 75 this year — but the stimuli factor… I hope that somebody else in this world is as stimulated by the music as I am, because it's still very much alive and well."

Asked if he will miss the audience and the live interaction on stage, Ted said: "Yes. Of course I will. But again, I won't miss it because I'll still do it… I'm not going out for months or even weeks. I'll do the occasional special events. I do a lot of corporate stuff… Yeah, I'm an energized son of a bitch, but I am 75, and I'm not swinging from ropes and I'm not wearing a loincloth and I'm not jumping off the amplifiers with my new knees. So I will miss it, but, again, I've got 12 grandkids and I don't wanna go away someday and not make an imprint on them, teach them about the important things in life. In a world that's really gone really stupid, I think my grandparenting responsibilities are more important now than ever."

Ted's concert in Birmingham, Alabama was recently canceled due to a backlash surrounding his controversial political views. The legendary rocker's July 18 performance at Avondale Brewing Co. was scrapped one day before tickets were to go on sale via Ticketmaster. The decision to call off the gig was apparently made in response to about 1,000 comments which were posted on Avondale Brewing's Facebook page after the show was announced, as well as more than 150 comments on the venue's Instagram page.

Nugent's self-titled debut album in 1975 was certified double platinum in the United States, while "Free-for-All", "Cat Scratch Fever", "Weekend Warriors" and "State Of Shock" all reached the Top 30 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Nugent has reportedly sold over 40 million albums and was named Detroit's greatest guitar player of all time by readers of MLive.

The conservative rocker, who been eligible for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame as a solo artist since 2000, has enjoyed a remarkably successful and eventful musical career over the past five decades, but his music is increasingly overshadowed by his political outbursts.

Nugent's latest album, "Detroit Muscle", was released in April 2022 via Pavement Music. The follow-up to 2018's "The Music Made Me Do It" was recorded with Ted's most recent touring band, which included bassist Greg Smith and drummer Jason Hartless.

This past May, Smith, who had played bass for Ted for the past 16 years, announced his departure from the legendary rocker's touring band. He explained in a statement: "It was a difficult decision but one that I really had no choice in. With Ted no longer touring I had to accept an offer from a tour that will continue for the next several years. I tried to get someone to cover for me for the 2nd half, so I'd be able to do Ted's tour, but I was unfortunately unable to."

THE GUESS WHO Shares Music Video For 'People Around Me'

Earlier this year, Canadian rock legends THE GUESS WHO shared their brand new LP, "Plein D'Amour", via Deko Entertainment. They now continue their album rollout with the release of a brand new video for the single "People Around Me".

On "Plein D'Amour", bandmembers Derek Sharp, Michael Staertow, Leonard Shaw, Michael Devin and founding member Garry Peterson have crafted a collection of songs that raises the bar and continues to take it up a notch both musically and sonically. The album was recorded at Villa Sound in Singhampton, Ontario, Canada, with Adam Fair. It features other standout tracks such as "Headline" and "Across The Line". Artwork for the release was provided by world-renowned graphic designer Ioannis (DEEP PURPLE, ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND, LED ZEPPELIN, etc.).

In February, THE GUESS WHO shared the first single off their new album, "The King". Upon its release, the track immediately landed on multiple editorial Spotify playlists. With follow-up singles "Plein D'Amour" and "Headline", the three tracks racked up over 250,000 streams collectively and making this record the highest new release in the band's history.

In celebration of their new release, THE GUESS WHO has already embarked on a full North American tour that will take them through the end of 2023.

THE GUESS WHO is a legendary band which enjoyed chart-topping hits in the late 1960s and early 1970s with an impressive catalogue of songs including "American Woman", "These Eyes" and "No Time". During the course of its career, the band has released 11 studio albums, and charted 14 Top 40 hit singles, 2 of which went to number one in the United States. THE GUESS WHO is best known internationally for its 1970 album "American Woman", which hit number one in Canada and number nine in the United States, with five other albums also hitting the top ten in Canada. Their fan base spans multiple generations. Very few bands have survived numerous member changes — let alone having smash hits with each lineup — but THE GUESS WHO's motto is "the music is the message."

The most recent and up-to-date version of the band has mastered a wildly entertaining romp through the early hits mixed in with their current creations, while managing to take the whole experience to a new level. Their live show is a celebration of life, being alive, and thriving in these uncertain times.

Last November, Peterson told TribLive that he has never entertained thoughts of leaving THE GUESS WHO. "The reason why is because I spent from 1962 to today devoting my entire adolescence and adult life to this band and to the creation of music in this band and the promotion of music created by this band," he said. "So, I think when you're that heavily invested, unless you're looking for something that you’re not getting out of this band, you would stay in it."

Former THE GUESS WHO members Burton Cummings and Randy Bachman have been highly critical of the latest iteration of THE GUESS WHO, calling it a cover band and "the fake GUESS WHO." Peterson, for his part, doesn't let the criticism bother him.

"They decided to go on to their own careers, which I respect and I support,” Peterson told TribLive. "You have to, in life, do what you feel you're called to do. My calling is to be in THE GUESS WHO."

Earlier this year, Hollywood Undead shared the music video for “House Of Mirrors” featuring multi-genre sensation Jelly Roll. Available exclusively on the digital version of Hotel Kalifornia Deluxe, the song is a story of self-reflection and was co-written with Jelly Roll in a studio session last year.

"I’ve been a fan of Hollywood Undead for a long time — it was surreal to get to work with them,” shares Jelly Roll. “Everything just clicked in the studio that day the record is a perfect representation of where we all were at that point in our lives."

“‘House Of Mirrors’ is a song of self-reflection and redemption,” Hollywood Undead’s Johnny 3 Tears shares. “No matter how far you run you can’t escape the person staring back at you in the mirror. One day we all have to face ourselves… and hopefully we can look back and not have to look away at what we see.”

Hollywood Undead will release the deluxe version of their eighth studio album Hotel Kalifornia on April 28 in both digital and vinyl formats.

Hotel Kalifornia, originally released in 2022, represents “a juxtaposition between the ‘haves’ and the ’have-nots,’ highlighting the ongoing homelessness and cost of living crisis that is affecting the band’s home state of California.” Hotel Kalifornia saw placements on genre playlists such as Spotify’s Rock Hard, Hard Rock & Rock Rotation, Apple Music’s Breaking Hard Rock & New in Rock, and Top 40 placement at US Rock & Active Rock Radio with the standout single “City Of The Dead.”

Hollywood Undead will make several festival appearances, co-headline appearances with Papa Roach, and headline throughout the spring and summer worldwide with Bamboozle Festival, and international festivals including Rock Im Park, Rock Am Ring, Nova Rock, Hellfest, and more. WEAPONS OF ANEW Premieres Video For New Song “Angel Has Fallen”

Weapons Of Anew has released the first in a trilogy of songs that tie together to tell the story of one's inner struggles and how they can consume and take you over. The trio of songs will be tied together into a short film that, according to guitarist Freddy Ordine, will be like “a horror film on steroids.” The video was produced by Weapons Of Anew and Thomas Crane of killDevil Films.

"'Angel Has Fallen' is about a girl who had everything going for her and succumbed to the darker things in life. Dancing led to drugs, which led to other horrible things and ultimately she passed. No matter how hard anyone who cared about her tried to help it didn't matter. She was too far down the line,” explains Freddy Ordine, who also produced the track with Mike Ferretti (Sevendust), and David Bendeth.

Weapons Of Anew will follow up "Angel Has Fallen" with their second single, "Demons," and, following that, the trilogy concludes with "Take You Down." The trio of songsnwill be tied together into a short film.

Weapons Of Anew is powered by Freddy Ordine, Reno, Dunté Mason, Nick Farahvashi and Julius Mendoza.

NOVA DOLL Announce New Album, Release Video For "California Sunshine"

Traversing the plains of doom, stoner and punk, Nova Doll is gearing up to unveil the new album, Denaturing. This offering is intended to be an experience, moving from one season to the next with tracks joined with sounds of nature.

Dive into Nova Doll's serving of heavy stoner rock laced with garage riffs and punk snarl. Denaturing will be released on September 29th, 2023, via Black Throne Productions and Tarantula Tapes. The video for the latest single from Denaturing, "California Sunshine", is out now.

Each song is about death in a different respect - death of a person, death of innocence, death of relationships, or death of the seasons. Denaturing opens with "The Circle" about how some people will cast circles or call circle to create a sacred place to do their work. This haunting and heavy track opens the floor to the magic of the album. "California Sunshine" explores an acid trip that led to tragedy through an immersive, fuzz-fueled sound, with a dark undertone. The title track, "Denaturation" explores the biological and chemical breakdown of the body during the dying process, while the concluding "Dead Before I Knew It" delves into the experience of losing a part of yourself at the hand of someone else’s actions. It's an eerie atmospheric venture into gloomy doom with a punk attitude.

Tracklisting:

"The Circle"
"Waydown"
"California Sunshine"
"Denaturation"
"Light Her Up"
"Mabon"
"Dead Before I Knew It"

Nova Doll was established in 2022 and is based out of Barrie, ON, Canada. The project draws musical inspiration from across the stoner rock, punk, and grunge / sludge / doom genres. Influenced by the likes of Kyuss and early Queens Of The Stone Age, as well as High On Fire, the debut record Denaturing, leans heavily into these realms.
