Wacken TV has shared footage of Germany metal veterans Rage in action at Wacken Open Air 2019, playing "Sign Of Heaven" and "Turn The Page" from their epic song, "Changes". Check it out below.
Rage released their new album, Resurrection Day on September 17. The album features a revamped lineup, with two guitar players.
After last year’s departure of guitarist Marcos Rodriguez, Stefan Weber (ex-Axxis) was enlisted, followed just a few weeks later by Jean Bormann (Angel Inc, Rage & Ruins). The fourth band member is drummer Vassilios “Lucky” Maniatopoulos, who has been with Rage since 2015. This lineup was introduced to the public for the first time on the song “The Price Of War 2.0”, a re-recording of the same-named song from their album Black in Mind from 1995.
On Resurrection Day, the band’s first full-length effort with the new members, Rage continues their victorious path, and rewards the long-time followers with a very inspired collection of songs. From the thrashy vibes of “Virginity” and “Extinction Overkill”, to the melodic overtones of the title track and “Mind Control”, there’s something here for fans of every era of the band. Much like its predecessor Wings Of Rage, there are definitively nods to their past, but they relentlessly forge ahead with a renewed sense of energy and excitement.
Sonic Perspectives interviewer Rodrigo Altaf sat down with Rage mastermind, Peavy Wagner, to discuss how the new lineup was put together, the writing process of the new album, touring plans and much more.
In August 2019, power metal newcomers Northtale released their successful first album Welcome To Paradise. After their debut show at Sabaton Open Air in Sweden followed by shows in Japan, the band underwent a lineup change and after months of auditions, the new vocalist, Guilherme Hirose from Sao Paolo, Brazil was chosen.
Now, after releasing several re-recorded songs from Welcome To Paradise with Guilherme on vocals, the band finally announces their new album, Eternal Flame, which is set to be released on November 12 via Nuclear Blast. Produced by Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69, Unisonic), the album features 12 brand new tracks and a whole range of new influences, from thrash metal, classical citations, and Brazilian traditional music, all fused into Northtale's own brand of melodic power metal.
Today, the band unveil the first single "'Only Human" - a fast-paced, anthemic tune that comes with a lyric video.
Guitarist Bill Hudson comments: "The time has come! After almost two years of hard work, a lineup change, and a global pandemic, we’re very happy to tell you we’re releasing our new album, Eternal Flame.
“Our friends at Nuclear Blast have picked 'Only Human' as the first single. A short, straight-to-the-point Power Metal track packed with every element that makes up our music. Sonically, it’ll sound very familiar to the fans. Lyrically, it talks about the moment we’re living in, where power structures are starting to crumble and people are rising up to what they believe in, in search of evolution. But we also make mistakes, and that’s exactly what makes us human. We learn by trial and error and become wiser that way. I know it sounds cliché, but this album is very superior to our debut. Also, I got some of my amazing friends to guest on it! I simply cannot wait to hear everyone’s reaction.
“For now, enjoy 'Only Human' and we're looking forward to meeting everyone this winter in Europe with Unleash The Archers and Striker."
Eternal Flame features guest appearances from legendary icon Kai Hansen (Helloween/Gamma Ray), his son Tim Kanoa Hansen (Induction), Jonas Heidgert (Dragonland), and Mary Zimmer (Helion Prime). The album artwork was created by Gustavo Sazes (Machine Head, Amaranthe, Kamelot) Find preorders
Gore fueled death metallers, Pathology, return with their 11th studio album, The Everlasting Plague, which will be released on November 19 via Nuclear Blast. New single and lyric video, "As The Entrails Wither", is streaming below.
Pathology's Dave Astor comments, "We’re stoked to release our newest single, 'As The Entrails Wither'! In true Pathology fashion, this song is about a stronghold with its outer walls draped in rotting bodies as a deterrent for unwanted guests. There are lots of twists and turns in this song and we’re stoked with how it came out!"

What does one think of first when hearing the word “Abracadaver”? Maybe a witch damned for all eternity to clean the deserts of cadavers? You will know after hearing this track - it certainly is a thrash metal influenced but still unmistakably „Lordi-sounding“ masterpiece!
The video for “Abracadaver” is available below.
LORDI doing Thrash Metal? After 2020’s KILLECTION already featured a song ABRACADAVER is a whole album full of 90’s Speed and Thrash metal inspired songs. Heavy riffs are guaranteed to make every fan of Sepultura, Kreator or Anthrax bang their head to the fast-paced rhythm.
Certainly an album full of songs guaranteed to create giant moshpits at every concert they are performed at. Grab a beer and put on your finest battle jacket when giving ABRACADAVER a spin! Today 2 tracks – “Abracadaver” and “Beast Of Both Worlds” – are heralding this phenomenal album, which will be released digitally on December 10th.
The rock/heavy metal band, LORDI, was officially founded in 1992 by singer, songwriter and designer, Mr. Lordi. The band is deeply rooted in Finland and originally comes from Rovaniemi in Northern Lapland. In 2006, the band achieved their international breakthrough with their participation in the Eurovision Song Contest ("Hard Rock Hallelujah"). So far, so good.
But what if this had only been our own little wretched reality so far and in actuality, things are quite different? What if LORDI have actually been active since the early 70s and unleashing one hit after another onto humanity since then?
This is the idea behind "Killection", the last studio album. It's a compilation album that imagines that LORDI has existed since the early 70's. It delivers all the hit singles from the different decades and as they would have sounded if LORDI had made music at that time. The accompanying back catalogue will finally appear in the form of "Lordiversity" – two years after its Best Of and simply from beyond time and space.
Mr. Lordi explains: “In the week of March 2020, after our tour had to be cancelled due to Corona, I thought that I must use the extra time that was available to me. It quickly became clear that the time was perfect to start planning another album, even though “Killection” wasn't even three months old at the time. But then I realised that there couldn't be anything more boring than making another regular LORDI album. I really enjoyed writing, recording and producing the different styles for “Killection”, but the idea of simply composing a second part of it also struck me as extremely boring. And since "Killection" is a fictional album based on a previously non-existent, fictional back catalogue of music, I had an idea: The only thing that could top "Killection" would be to record and publish the back catalogue. "
So Said. So Done. "Skeletric Dinosaur", "Superflytrap", "The Masterbeast", "Abusement Park", "Humanimals", "Abracadaver" and "Spooky Sextravaganza Spectacular" will all be released on November 26th as physical products (7-CD Box or 7-LP Box in various colours). The complete work is called “Lordiversity”. Monster Songs galore for the dark nights of the year.
EMIGRATE, the side project of RAMMSTEIN guitarist Richard Z. Kruspe, will release its fourth album, "The Persistence Of Memory", on November 5.
The official music video for the LP's second single, "You Can't Run Away", directed by Anuk Rohde, can be viewed below.
"The Persistence Of Memory", which was named after a Salvador Dalí painting, features the following tracks:
01. Rage
02. Always On My Mind (feat. Till Lindemann)
03. Freeze My Mind
04. Yeah Yeah Yeah
05. Come Over
06. You Can't Run Away
07. Hypothetical
08. Blood Stained Wedding
09. I Will Let You Go
As a member of RAMMSTEIN, the music world's most explosive live act, Kruspe has been part of a ground-breaking global success story that continues to build and to ignite; along the way, he's turned his attention to a number of parallel projects, such as constructing a studio (and a home) in his native Berlin, but it's his decision to launch the EMIGRATE setup that has given him the greatest chance to satisfy creative instincts outside of the parent group.
The first EMIGRATE album appeared in 2007 (a self-titled record that went Top 10 in Germany, with single/video "My World" appearing on the soundtrack to the third "Resident Evil" movie); "Silent So Long" followed in 2014, featuring guest vocals from such high-profile artists as Marilyn Manson, Jonathan Davis, Peaches and the legend that will always be Lemmy. EMIGRATE's third album, "A Million Degrees" came out in November 2018 and was described as "less a successor to 'Silent So Long' and more a re-booted take on the overall concept, continuing Kruspe's desire to craft something personal."
"I really want the freedom to collaborate with different people and to explore different kinds of music," Kruspe explained when "A Million Degrees" was first released, "to express myself as both a writer and a singer away from deadlines, timelines and other such restrictions. The idea is to keep experimenting and to keep challenging myself. Plus, EMIGRATE works in an organic way, so musicians can come and go, and it's still okay, it's positive…"
RAMMSTEIN's seventh, untitled album came out in May 2019 via UME/Spinefarm in Europe and Caroline Records in the U.S.
RAMMSTEIN will bring its full-scale stadium production to North America for the first time ever in the summer of 2022.
NONPOINT has released its cover version of "When Doves Cry" to all major platforms today. The single was originally released by PRINCE AND THE REVOLUTION in 1984 and was one of the hit singles from the album "Purple Rain".
Vocalist Elias Soriano says: "Our fans throughout the years have always had a quiet romance with the songs we like to cover. Seeing that our biggest showing in that category, our cover of Phil Collins's 'In The Air Tonight', was a suggestion from a friend and fan of the band, we thought it only fitting we let all our fans have a chance to throw their hats in the ring this time. So in the middle of a global pandemic, we threw up a bracket-style voting tournament with a list of contenders from METALLICA to DMX. As fans voted over a few weeks, it was exciting to watch it go from 16 songs to the final two, METALLICA's 'Nothing Else Matters' vs Prince's 'When Doves Cry'. When they chose Prince, the real work began. We went through version after version. We knew we had to do it justice in the biggest way we could as tribute to Prince and still make it NONPOINT. I'm happy to report from initial response among the few who have heard, it is exciting and we look forward to our fans singing it for years to come."
Dr. Fink of PRINCE AND THE REVOLUTION reacted by saying: "I just listened to 'Doves' and thought it was great! NONPOINT's revision of 'When Doves Cry' by PRINCE AND THE REVOLUTION rocks like a champion bullfighter slaying a prized bull!"
Earlier in the month, NONPOINT rescheduled just under a dozen shows on its current tour after "multiple members of the band" tested positive for COVID-19.
NONPOINT has toured with major acts like DISTURBED, PAPA ROACH, MUDVAYNE and SEVENDUST, to name a few. They have also been featured on the main stages and support stages of iconic festivals like Soundwave, Rock Am Park, Rock Am Ring, Ozzfest, Rock On The Range, Welcome To Rockville and many more.
In June, NONPOINT released the music video for "Ruthless", the title track off the band's upcoming EP. The single was made available through the group own label 361 Degrees Records LLC and was this year's featured track on AEW's "Blood And Guts" on TNT.
NONPOINT launched its independent record label 361 Degrees Records LLC in January of this year. They filmed the process of starting the label and making new music in a docu-series titled "A Path To Independence" that can be seen on the band's YouTube and official web site.
British rockers THE DARKNESS have released new single "Jussy's Girl" along with the official video for the track. The song is taken from the band's upcoming album, "Motorheart", which is due on November 19 via Cooking Vinyl.
"Jussy's Girl" is sensitive as a falling boulder. It oozes rock and roll extravagance with huge 1980s influenced riffs and an anthemic chorus that summons the inescapable carnal powers of love. The fantastical "Jussy’s Girl" video features frontman Justin Hawkins as a leather-clad biker journeying through a telephone booth time machine back to the days of black and white silent movies for a nefarious murder mystery, starring his musical companions in never-before-seen style.
Regarding the single, Justin says: "'Jussy's Girl' is a song about unrequited desires of both the flesh and the heart. Although one could argue that hearts are made out of the same stuff as flesh. You know what I mean though. It's about an unspeakable longing, but sounds like a bloke walking around in his 501s on a sunny day. It's sad, but also carefree. Sonically, we were aiming for somewhere between DEF LEPPARD and Billy Ocean. Well, I was. There's a helicopter in it and an awesome guitar solo. What more could you ask for?"
"Jussy's Girl" is the latest single from "Motorheart". The song follows the release of the high-octane riffola "Nobody Can See Me Cry" and the growling, pounding title track that pays homage to a devoted sex robot.
"Motorheart" is a record of immeasurable rock and roll extravagance, and yet another masterpiece from England's favorite rock icons. It will be made available in a wide variety of formats, including standard and deluxe versions, both digitally and on CD. There's a heavyweight black vinyl album alongside limited-edition color LPs, an old-school cassette version. With exclusive bundles and signed editions to boot, it's the complete aural experience from THE DARKNESS, and a glorious addition to one of the most exciting canons in British rock music.

THE DARKNESS frontman Justin Hawkins recently told Chaoszine about what it was like making an LP during the pandemic: "The [other] guys [from the band] were writing from London, and I was working here [home] in Switzerland. And we had this thing; it's called Listento. So when I was recording my vocals, I was able to communicate with my brother [THE DARKNESS guitarist Dan Hawkins], who was producing the record from the U.K. So I'd be able to talk to him. And he'd be doing my takes. It was kind of like as a plugin on Pro Tools.
"When you think about it, if I'm in the vocal booth with my headphones on, and the producer is outside the vocal booth, it's the same level of interaction as to use Listento and be in a different country," he explained. "It doesn't really make much difference — the thousands of miles between us is irreleveant, really, because it's the same experience; I can hear his voice but I can't see his face, just like in a normal studio. So it became pretty normal, actually, as soon as the recording process started. The only difference would be in the writing — we didn't collaborate in the same way with the writing. But we all had the same manifesto going into it. We wanted to make an uplifting rock record with just good-time boogie rock on it. We didn't wanna have anything clever, nothing too metal-y, nothing too acoustic-y and nothing too… There isn't really a power ballad on this album; we normally do a power ballad. There's no sad songs on it. It sounds like an AEROSMITH album or something like that — it's just a bit of good-time rock and roll."
Asked if it was hard to get into the mood to write an uplifting album during the COVID-19 crisis, Justin said: "We didn't wanna make a lockdown album. In the beginning of that thing, there was a lot of lockdown music coming out, and it was music that was influenced and informed by the experience of the pandemic. And it's tempting to do that kind of thing, but I don't think it's our job. I think our job is to provide something else, really. Our fans wanna hear us pissing about and doing stupid [stuff]. Other people can do the other stuff; we'll just do what we do. Even if you feel sad, it's good to write a happy song, I think. There's more than one way to approach every situation, and THE DARKNESS way probably, whilst it's tempting to do serious and sad stuff, that's not what our audience wants to hear, and I don't think it's what we wanna do, really. We just wanna have a good time."
With a back catalog overflowing with sonic gold and a live reputation that most bands can only dream of attaining, THE DARKNESS have established themselves as one of the most loved and important British rock bands of our time. Their last album, 2019's "Easter Is Cancelled", became the band's fourth Top 10 album in the U.K. while also topping the Official Charts Top 40 Rock Chart and the iTunes Rock Chart, alongside receiving swathes of critical praise.
THE DARKNESS will be showcasing the live potency of "Motorheart" on their extensive 22-date U.K. headline tour throughout November and December this year. A true spectacle to behold, fans will be treated to brand new songs from the album as well as hits from across their award-winning, platinum selling back catalogue. Support also comes from BRITISH LION, the side project of legendary IRON MAIDEN founder and bassist Steve Harris.
Dual twin harpists, Camille And Kennerly, return with another cover; this time taking on the Kansas classic, "Dust In The Wind". Watch the video below.

The band have released a video for the first single, "Far From Heaven", which can be found below.
Says the band: "A worthy introduction to premiere the album, we pick up where we left off creatively from our last release. Although there are more drastic dynamic turns to come, 'Far From Heaven' delivers from a more simplistic and primal place. Lyrically, this record will take you further into internal turmoil and chaos than we have gone before, partially due to isolation but also as an overstated reflection on existence itself. This song is much more a liter
Irish quintet, The Risen Dread, have released their new single, “White Night”. The track features Sepultura guitarist, Andreas Kisser.
When asked about the track and Kisser’s involvement the band had this to say: “'White Night' denote a crisis within Peoples Temple (Jonestown), followed by a rehearsal of collective suicide. Reverend Jim Jones had ordered his entire community to drink a flavoured drink mix treated with a mixture of potassium cyanide and tranquillisers, placed in industrial buckets. In total, 909 individuals died in Jonestown; Jim Jones shot himself in the head at the end of that night.
"We’re very happy with the song and how it sounds. What can we say about having Andreas in our album? Andreas has been an influence and inspiration for generations, he has such a unique style, and we are all big Sepultura fans in the band. We couldn't believe when he sent the solo and how well it fits the track.
"It's funny how everything happens. Andreas sent a b

Thomas Zwijsen has released the new video below, featuring an acoustic cover of Iron Maiden's new song "Hell On Earth", featured on their Senjutsu album.
Acclaimed rock vocalist, Jeff Scott Soto, recently announced the release of his next solo project, The Duets Collection, Vol. 1, on October 8. For this album, Soto wanted to do a career retrospective and re-record some of his favorite songs from his storied career, but with the twist that he invited friends to join him on duets of said songs.
Today, fans can get another taste of the album with the release of "Don't Let It End" (originally performed by Yngwie Malmsteen) where he is joined by Dino Jelusick & Howie Simon. Watch the video below, and pre-order/save The Duets Collection, Vol. 1 on CD/Color Vinyl/Digital here.
Using the down time from his normally relentless touring activity due to the worldwide pandemic, renowned vocalist Jeff Scott Soto decided to create a very special album which pays tribute to some of the classic songs he has recorded over the course of his storied career. But, rather than simple re-records, he wanted to make the album something special, unique. So, not only did he re-record these songs with his musical friends Jorge Salan, Howie Simon (guitars), Leo Mancini (guitars), Tony Dickinson (bass) and Edu Cominato (drums), but he called in some of his fellow rock friends/vocalists to create a unique Duets album. With the likes of Erik Mårtensson (Eclipse, W.E.T.), Eric Martin (Mr. Big), Johnny Gioeli (Hardline), Deen Castronovo (Revolution Saints, Journey), Nathan James (Inglorious), Russell Allen (Symphony X), Renan Zonta (Electric Mob), Dino Jelusick, Mats Leven (Candlemass, TSO), BJ (Spektra, Soto), and Aliro Netto (Shaman, Queen Extravaganza), this is an amazing international affair.
The tracklisting alone will surely make any JSS fan excited, much less hearing the final product. Where can you get such an amazing list of singers and songs all in the same place?
Jeff says, "It was a DREAM to cast these voices and I am so amped for you to hear the results…”

"Anadem Gyre" is the brand-new ethereal single from Antiqva. The chamber black metal project was founded by Xenoyr (Ne Obliviscaris) and Lindsay Schoolcraft (ex-Cradle Of Filth) while on tour in Europe in the Autumn of 2015. The band has issued the following update:
"We're pleased to reveal our debut music video, 'Anadem Gyre', a song released only in vinyl format in 2020 as a bonus track to our 'Funeral Crown' single. 'Anadem Gyre' is a more emphasised dark folk element from within our sound, a portion of this infused into our chamber black metal backbone is what to expect on our debut album. With all our tracks we utilise the Romanian tongue and so we thought it fitting that we pay respect to the country, one so rich in spirit, character, and folklore. We hope you enjoy this visual experience."
