There has been a huge outpouring of loving tributes to Bernie Marsden since he passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on August 24, 2023 at the age of 72.
Rock icon, songwriter, guitar hero, author, even some time actor, so many areas of expertise... but beyond these qualities, the common theme throughout the multitude of testimonials was Bernie’s huge heart and friendly demeanour. Always approachable, never in too much of a hurry to stop and talk to fans. His warmth and wit would regale the listener with fascinating tales and amusing anecdotes from six decades at the top of his game.
Although Bernie had always worked hard and kept busy, most recently releasing three solo albums since 2021 in Kings, Chess and Trios as part of his Inspirations series, only a few knew that he had just completed a brand new album.
Earlier in August, Bernie had approved the artwork, sequence and audio masters for Working Man. An album of Bernie Marsden original songs.
Fran Marsden, Bernie’s wife of over 40 years, shared with us his passion for Working Man:
"Bernie was really excited about his new album, Working Man, and proud of the tracks featured on it. After the last three albums of covers he was keen for his fans to hear some new, original songs. He loved working on them in the studio during lockdown and he couldn't wait to get the album out into the world."
Conquest Music were considering delaying the release until 2024 out of respect, but knowing Bernie's eagerness to get the album out there, they want to follow his wishes and release it as planned. The final recording sessions took place in June 2023.
Bernie was fully involved in the mixing, artwork and planning and for the album, and he really wanted the Working Man album to come out in late summer, but because of the longer lead time needed to manufacture vinyl, it was scheduled for release on November 24.
Alan Bambrough, speaking on behalf of Conquest Music, emphasized their profound connection with Bernie:
"Bernie Marsden was far more than an artist to Conquest Music. He has been a great friend and mentor for many years and was a huge part of our decision to form the label. His Kings album was our first release and we are proud to work with his company, Little House Music in releasing some of his finest ever work. We are heartbroken at Bernie’s passing and thought the right and respectful thing to do would be to postpone the release until next year. Fran Marsden convinced us that Bernie would want the Working Man album to come out as planned."
So as originally intended, Working Man will be released on Friday, November 24. The album contains 12 brand new Bernie Marsden penned tracks. Produced by Bernie Marsden and Mixed by Dave Eringa (Manic Street Preachers, The Who).
The limited first pressing of the LP & CD will come with a bonus disc of 10 more new recordings.
Working Man will be available initially as a limited edition 2CD Digipak and 2LP set in Burgundy vinyl. These limited edition sets will also include a bonus disc of 10 more new recordings alongside the 12 track Working Man album. These bonus tracks include some astonishing reinterpretations of classic Whitesnake songs.

Legendary Rock And Roll Hall Of Famers and trailblazers JOAN JETT AND THE BLACKHEARTS have shared the official music video for the song "Whiskey Goes Good". The track is taken from the band's latest digital EP, "Mindsets", which came out in June on Jett's longtime independent record label Blackheart Records. Featuring six brand new songs, including the single "If You're Blue", the EP was produced by Jett, Kenny Laguna and Thom Panunzio, and executive produced by Carianne Brinkman. "Mindsets" marked the first new music release for the band since their first-ever acoustic album "Changeup", which came out in March 2022.
"Mindsets" is a perfect blend of punk and rock and roll that feels timeless and immediate at once, serving as a reminder of what JOAN JETT AND THE BLACKHEARTS are all about. Each of the six new tracks on the EP features its own spin on the band's signature tight instrumentation and heavy guitar riffs, effortlessly pairing with Jett's vocals that remain full of attitude and urgency. Both a voice and force to be reckoned with, Jett continues to deliver a sound of conviction and energy.
"If You're Blue", both the EP's single and first track, sets the tone for the full collection through the band's signature crunchy, distortion-forward guitar, hooky chorus, and Jett's powerful, snarling vocals.

The new video from fiery rock frontwoman Kobra Paige (Kobra And The Lotus), “Under One Sun”, is out now, following its worldwide premiere on AXS TV’s Power Hour. Check out the epic video that depicts the power of nature, healing and the divine feminine below.
Of “Under One Sun,” Kobra Paige commented, “This song is incredibly symbolic for me as it was the very first one ever written for this album. DRAGONFORCE's cover of "Wildest Dreams (Taylor's Version)" is featured as a bonus track on the band's upcoming album, "Warp Speed Warriors", which is due on March 15, 2024 via Napalm Records.
"Warp Speed Warriors" was produced, mixed and mastered by Damien Rainaud at Mix Unlimited in Los Angeles, California with DRAGONFORCE guitarists Sam Totman and Herman Li.
Guitarist, singer and content creator Billy Wilkins performed with DRAGONFORCE on their entire North American headline tour, which concluded at the Wiltern. Wilkins previously joined the band on stage after they saw his cover of platinum single "Through The Fire And Flames" going viral on TikTok. The fall 2023 trek featured a brand-new setlist and stage production, as well as special guests AMARANTHE, NANOWAR OF STEEL and EDGE OF PARADISE.
In November 2022, DRAGONFORCE released a music video for the song "The Last Dragonborn". The track is taken from DRAGONFORCE's latest studio album, "Extreme Power Metal", which came out in September 2019. Produced in Los Angeles, California by Rainaud at Mix Unlimited, the LP was also recorded, in part, on Li's livestream channel on Twitch with participation from the fans.
"The Last Dragonborn" was the first DRAGONFORCE music video to feature bassist Alicia Vigil, who first joined the band as a touring member in January 2020.
DRAGONFORCE's platinum-selling single "Through The Fire And Flames" brought the London-based Grammy-nominated extreme power metal group international acclaim and was featured as the most challenging song on "Guitar Hero III".
In March 2019, the "Through The Fire And Flames" music video reached a new milestone: it surpassed one hundred million views on YouTube — DRAGONFORCE's first music video to do so.

THE BLACK CROWES have shared the official music video for the new mix of an unreleased recording of the Memphis soul classic song "99 Pounds", originally recorded by Ann Peebles and written by Don Bryant. The track is just one of the 14 never-before-released recordings off the forthcoming box set of THE BLACK CROWES' chart-topping sophomore album, "The Southern Harmony And Musical Companion", set for release on December 15 via American Recordings/UMe.
"99 Pounds" was originally released on Memphis soul singer-songwriter Ann Peebles's 1972 album "Straight From The Heart". THE BLACK CROWES' cover of the admired track is a classic rock and roll take on a southern soul ballad.
"The Southern Harmony And Musical Companion" entered the U.S. Billboard album chart at No. 1 upon release in 1992, was named after a post-Civil War southern hymnal, and is home to some of the band's biggest hits, including "Remedy", "Sting Me" and "Thorn In My Pride", which were No. 1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart for a combined total of 21 weeks. Rich and Chris Robinson, alongside producer George Drakoulias, revisited the archives for the instant classic album and created a special super deluxe edition featuring unreleased studio recordings, rare B-sides, a live performance from Sam Houston Coliseum in Houston, Texas on February 6, 1993, and a newly remastered album from the original 1/4" production master. Highlights for the forthcoming boxset include 14 unreleased recordings, including "99 Pounds" and a previously unreleased studio recording of "Miserable".
At the end of "The Southern Harmony And Musical Companion" recording sessions in early 1992, the band performed live on the famed Southern Tracks Studio floor in Atlanta, Georgia on January 4, 1992. The session was captured by a film crew and, true to THE BLACK CROWES form, turned into a party. These never-before-released until now, live studio recordings feature five songs, including their cover of Ry Cooder's "Boomer's Story". Also included in the super deluxe edition is "Southern Harmony Live", featuring all the tracks off the album, performed live in Houston, Texas on February 6, 1993. This legendary and much-bootlegged show has now been mixed from the 24-track tapes and is available alongside the original album, which has been remastered from the 1/4" production master.

Upon their arrival on the national music scene in 1990 with "Shake Your Money Maker", THE BLACK CROWES' THE ROLLING STONES-ish/FACES early 1970s throwback sound was far from the pop metal/pre-grunge musical fashion of the day. However, no one could deny the songwriting and authentic rootsy musical craftsmanship of the brothers Chris and Rich Robinson.
Joining Chris and Rich Robinson in the new BLACK CROWES lineup are returning bassist Sven Pipien, who played with the band live from 1997 up until the band's hiatus in 2015, along with Brian Griffin on drums, Joel Robinow on keyboards and Isaiah Mitchell on guitar.
Sabaton guitarist / Majestica frontman Tommy Johansson has shared a cover of the John Miles classic, "Music", released in 1976.
Johansson: "This is is dedicated to my dear father who has his birthday today!"
John Miles (born John Errington) was an English rock singer, guitarist and keyboard player best known for his 1976 top 3 UK hit single "Music", which won an Ivor Novello Award. Miles died after a short illness on December 5th, 2021 at the age of 72.
Heavy metal titans Judas Priest have announced their Invincible Shield Tour, with special guests Sabaton. The all-time greats will take over the US this spring with 14 shows.
Produced by Live Nation, the tour kicks off on April 18 at Toyota Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford, CT making stops in Reading, PA; Boston, MA; Rosemont, IL; Washington, DC and more before wrapping up in Syracuse, NY at Empower Federal Credit Union Amphitheater at Lakeview on May 22. San Francisco Bay Area metallers EXODUS have been opening their concerts on their fall 2023 U.S. tour with FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY, DARKEST HOUR and UNDEATH with "Impact Is Imminent", the title track of their fourth studio album, which came out in 1990. It marks the first time "Impact Is Imminent" has been played live in more than three decades.

EXODUS kicked off its fall 2023 U.S. tour on November 15 at Revolution in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
A month ago, EXODUS singer Steve "Zetro" Souza shared a graphic promoting VIP upgrades for the band's fall 2023 run with FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY, DARKEST HOUR and UNDEATH, and he included the following message: "It's coming quick everyone!!! We are rampaging through the states with our new friends @fitforanautopsy @darkest_hour_official and @undeathny find the venue that's closest to you and come have one of the heaviest nights of your life !!!
"On this tour EXODUS will be playing deep cuts and actually opening with a song we haven't played in Over 32 years and one we have never ever played live !!!" referencing the track "R.E.M.F."

EXODUS is continuing to tour in support of its latest album, "Persona Non Grata", which arrived in November 2021 via Nuclear Blast.
"Persona Non Grata" was recorded at a studio in Lake Almanor, California and was engineered by Steve Lagudi and EXODUS. It was produced by EXODUS and was mixed by Andy Sneap. For the third time in the band's history, they returned to Swedish artist Pär Olofsson to create the album artwork.
"Persona Non Grata" was the follow-up to 2014's "Blood In Blood Out", which was the San Francisco Bay Area thrashers' first release since the departure of the group's lead singer of nine years, Rob Dukes, and the return of Steve "Zetro" Souza, who previously fronted EXODUS from 1986 to 1993 and from 2002 to 2004.
FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY released its sixth album, "Oh What The Future Holds", in January 2022 via Nuclear Blast.
Melodic metal outfit Lutharo return with a cacophony of all that is metal. Canadian and Czech modern metalcore act Blckprnt has released a new heavy hitting song called “The Rush”, featuring Bjorn “Speed” Strid from Soilwork on vocals.

It’s been 17 long years since the release of their last full-length, Out For Blood (2006), and the band sounds just as viciously vital as the day they first lit up audiences almost 40 years ago!
Recorded with Juan Urteaga (Exodus, Testament, Machine Head) at Trident Studios, The Shadow Inside is a merciless masterclass of thrash with blistering tracks like “Scorched And Burnt,” “It’s The Sickness” and “Ride The Knife,” that further cement the band’s metal legacy.
Today, Sadus aims attention towards another standout track, “Anarchy,” which is accompanied by the brutal video below.

Band members Derek Sharp, Michael Staertow, Leonard Shaw, Michael Devin, and founding member Garry Peterson have crafted a collection of songs that raises the bar and continues to take it up a notch both musically and sonically.
Artwork for the release was provided by world renowned graphic designer Ioannis (Deep Purple, Allman Brothers Band, Led Zeppelin). Plein D’Amour was recorded at Villa Sound in Singhampton, Ontario, Canada.

Prepare to dive into the world of groove metal once again with the latest track from Dirty Audio Machine’s EP Only Fury Remains, which was released in June of this year. The track “Are You Alive” is four minutes of slick riffs, abrasive southern style gutturals, and gritty cleans that will leave an impression.
The band shares the premise behind the song:
“Like the track before it (“System Of Revolution”), “Are You Alive” is another call to arms, expressing a desire for people to wake up and fight back against their oppressors, and general dismay at how unaware and/or apathetic a lot of people are about what is going on. The people have the power.”

Following the success of their previous release, King Of Disappointment in 2022, Dirty Audio Machine returns with Only Fury Remains, a five-song EP that showcases their relentless pursuit of groove, intensity, and energetic lyrical themes. There is no end in sight for these guys either, they have more songs in the pipe and expect to release a new EP in the not-so-distant future.
Main songwriter and band founder Steve Ricardo often finds inspiration striking at 2 AM, prompting him to head to his home studio and record riff ideas using his cell phone. It's a testament to the band's dedication to capturing the essence of their music at any given moment. He also produced and mixed the EP; the artwork, created by LOKI, depicts the end of mankind—a fitting representation of the EP's themes of struggle and anger.

Degenerator is an aggressive musical powerhouse based in Edmonton, Alberta, that combines the genres of post-grunge, stoner rock, and doom into a captivating and relentless fusion. Comprised of two musicians, Barrett Klesko and Jonathan Webster who have already garnered intonation musical acclaim they are demonstrating their musical prowess in their debut album The Abyssal Throne. The second single “Neurotonic” takes heavy music fans deep into a unique and intriguing soundscape full of fresh energy and innovation.
Klesko comments:
“Loss haunts our hearts. We must cherish our loved ones. Before they are gone. I always strive for stirring emotion, while revealing a glimpse of a mystical hidden depth. This music came from investigations of my connection with both the material and ethereal worlds, and I hope this ignites a similar reflection in others.”
The Abyssal Throne captures the spirit of the '90s and '00s goth and grunge while infusing fresh energy and innovation. The album takes listeners on a rollercoaster of emotions, navigating intricate and progressive time signatures, and balancing thunderous, distorted riffs with intricate melodies that seamlessly intertwine. Each song becomes an adrenaline-fueled journey, inviting listeners to surrender to the primal depths of their own emotions.
The project began as a trial, with Klesko reaching out to his friend Webster, with whom he had previously played in The Order of Chaos. The album started to take shape as Klesko composed to rough drum tracks provided by Webster. What began as an experiment evolved into something entirely unique, distinct from its source material.
