VOIDFALLEN – New Single, Music Video “Starved Of Martyrs” Released

Melodic death metallers Voidfallen have unleashed an intense new single, "Starved Of Martyrs", a first taste of the upcoming album the band is currently working on. The track is accompanied by a brand new and captivating music video.

Commenting on the new single, Voidfallen states: "Starved Of Martyrs is a fast and relentless track that adds almost a thrashy feeling to the band’s otherwise blackened melodeath sound palette. The theme of the song revolves around the toxic glorification of living in misery."

Hailing from Helsinki, Finland, and formed in 2019 as a two man project by guitarists Tommi Kangaskortet and Henri Vuorenmaa, the goal has always been to learn from previous mistakes and to create music with no compromises. After recording the band's debut EP titled The Sinners, the Plague and the Voidfallen (2019) the remaining slots were filled with skilled musicians in order to prepare for live shows and ever since, Voidfallen has been making a fast-growing name for itself.

But not only musically in terms of quality of compositions and production, this band has always paid lots of attention to the visual aspects, taking the melodeath genre to new heights with their dark approach and stunning visual effects.

Following the release of their critically acclaimed debut album The Atlas Of Spiritual Apocalypse (2021), Voidfallen caught the attention of German record label Noble Demon, with whom the band will release their highly anticipated sophomore full-length record in early 2024.

Voidfallen on the signing and working with Noble Demon:

"Since the beginning of this band we’ve aimed to find partners with whom we can not only elevate our art always to the next level but who also are directly eye to eye with our thoughts of the band and where we want to take it. Patrick and the rest of the Noble Demon crew are people who are not only talented but also have a great vision of the future and we are stoked to work with them!"

Voidfallen are:
Lauri Honkola: Vocals
Henri Vuorenmaa: Guitars
Tommi Kangaskortet: Guitars
Lauri Myllylä: Bass
Mika Lumijärvi: Drums

INGESTED Share “You’ll Never Learn” Video

Ingested has shared a video for “You’ll Never Learn” that was filmed at Bloodstock 2022 and Download Fest 2023 by Loki Films.

The band comments; "‘You'll Never Learn’ is about the people you keep around in your life that continue to make the same mistakes without making a change. Chances and patience runs out, people will only stick by you for so long. Keep those true to you close, and drop that dead weight.

“We shot this video across our two performances at the UK festivals Bloodstock and Download, and Loki Films managed to capture the utter chaos that ensued. Crack open a tinnie, roll a joint, bang your head or do whatever you do and enjoy the carnage of YOU'LL NEVER LEARN.

“Along with our brand new video, we are supremely buzzing to announce that we will be washing Europe and the UK in oceans of blood with our dear friends Lorna Shore, Rivers Of Nihil and Distant this autumn! We can't wait to get back out on the road and do what we do best, laying waste to every city that we touch!

“The Pain Remains Tour last year in North America was one of the most exciting extreme metal tours of 2022, so trust us when we say this, you don't want to miss The Pain Remains Tour UK & Europe!"

Ingested released Ashes Lie Still last fall via Metal Blade.

Ingested has also announced that they will be hitting the road with Lorna Shore and labelmates Rivers of Nihil this November/December in Europe and the U.K.

3TEETH Announces EndEx Album; “Scorpion” Video Streaming

Four years after the release of their last full-length album and with several teases of new music unleashed the past few months, 3Teeth is now sharing all the details behind their much-anticipated LP EndEx coming this fall.

EndEx will be released by Century Media Records on September 22, showcasing the modern industrial act at their most raucous yet, unveiling bold revelations of humanity’s technosocial disintegration behind a brutal soundtrack that sounds all the alarms.

After giving the first glimpse at the new material with the early release of “Paralyze” (featuring Ho99o9), 3Teeth re-emerged in May with more previews, including their gripping sonic salvo, “Merchant Of The Void” that touches on the bleak landscape of modern society amid A.I. takeovers and economic collapse.

Next came “Slum Planet” taking aim at the ills of a sick planet obsessed with over-consumption at all costs. With today’s album announcement, 3Teeth shares the newest single for the moody missive “Scorpion,” a track in which the band’s instrumental arsenal is tempered by alluring female vocal chants that provide an ambient feel. It’s featured alongside a combustible video, with the band excavating deep desert secrets. It was helmed by director Vicente Cordero & 3Teeth frontman and creative lead Alexis Mincolla.

Says Mincolla, "The scorpion symbolizes the challenge to confront and integrate those parts of ourselves that we repress, ignore, or fear. It invites a descent into the depths of the personal and collective unconscious. Its venom is the entropic catalyst for the dissolution of old, rigid structures of the psyche, making room for rebirth. To acknowledge and embrace the scorpion is to accept the necessity of change."

Ahead of the release of EndEx in late September, 3Teeth will continue to release a new single every month. Other highlights on the album include a cover of Tears for Fears’ “Everybody Wants to Rule the World,” continuing 3Teeth’s penchant for aggressive reworks of pop songs, previously seen on Foster the People’s “Pumped Up Kicks,” Sweet’s “Ballroom Blitz” and Dead or Alive’s “You Spin Me Round (Like A Record).”

To lay the foundation for the new material, 3Teeth migrated to the deserted quiet of Joshua Tree, escaping from the palpable anxiety of their hometown of Los Angeles for fresh new perspective. The material is currently being wrapped up with a solid extended team including the accomplished sound designer Mick Gordon (best known for his work on the gaming phenomenon Doom) who produced several of the tracks along with producer Nick Rowe and mixer Sean Beavan (NIN), bringing in another dimension to the band’s unmistakable sound.

Says Gordon, “3Teeth are one of my favorite acts. They proudly fly their own unique flag. The new album charts course through the next stage of our vanity-led evolution as a species, and by that I mean the album is a world unto itself. I’m just stoked that these guys have allowed me along for the ride.”

EndEx will be available in CD, Gatefold LP, and digital album formats. Special formats include:
Red LP (available at all EU outlets)
Red Smoke LP (available at all US outlets)
Utra-Clear / Red Splatter LP (available from 3TEETH)
Utra-Clear / Red Splatter LP (available from Revolver)

ONHEIL Celebrate New Album Release With "In Black Ashes" Video

Dutch blackened death metal veterans Onheil released their new album, In Black Ashes, on June 23rd via Black Lion Records. To celebrate in glorious style, the band has unleashed a new music video for the album's title track.

Onheil have been spreading their raging melodic blackened death metal since 1999 and with the band's first two albums Razor (2009) and Storm Is Coming (2014), the Dutch quintet have left an impressive mark in extreme music. Renowned for memorable hooks and harmonic melodies, the band now embarks on their next powerful chapter with In Black Ashes, delivering a well-played and well-written album that strives and succeeds to be both hard, heavy and aggressive, as well as melodic and enchanting.

Onheil’s third full-length album was mixed and mastered by legendary producer Dan Swanö (Dissection, Opeth, Dark Funeral, Bloodbath, Marduk, Insomnium) at Unisound Studios, who also had nothing but praise for the band: “Very awesome record! A quite unique blend of classic black/thrash/speed and even some New Wave of British Heavy metal in there, and tastefully topped off with some vibes of that blackened death metal that I did so much of in the mid '90s. Highly recommended!”

In Black Ashes artwork and tracklisting:

"Night Terror"
"In Black Ashes"
"Like Shadows In The Night"
"Void"
"Beneath A Steel Sky"
"Bloodthirst"

CLASSLESS ACT Releases New Version Of “Storm Before The Calm” Featuring DMC Of RUN DMC

“I was a little intimated about being invited to collaborate with a new young rock band – my first initial response, I was very curious to see what was going on. But then when I heard them, the presentation, the presence, the production, the performance… it was very mature… I wondered can I fit into this type of energy? And then I was inspired to deliver something a little more unique,” says Darryl “DMC” McDaniels.

Not since 1986's "Walk This Way" cameo with Aerosmith has Run-DMC's Darryl McDaniels appeared on a rock track like this. But that all changes now as the hip-hop legend is featured on a brand-new version of Classless Act’s single “Storm Before The Calm”, including an original verse he wrote just for the track, alongside a new music video.  See it below, and listen to the song here.

“It was a beautiful collaboration that shows the powerful potential of music – like when Steven Tyler took the mic stand in ‘Walk This Way’ and knocked down the wall that separated us. Even to this day, people talk about it. I think this song too is going to be very motivating and inspiring to all generations,” says DMC about the collaboration, which is in celebration of the one-year anniversary of Classless Act’s debut album Welcome To The Show, released June 24, 2022 via Better Noise Music and kicked off a huge breakthrough year for the Los Angeles-based five-piece.

Since the Spring of 2022, Classless Act racked up millions of streams and logged 100 live shows, including opening for Dorothy, playing the summer blockbuster Stadium Tour opening for Mötley Crüe and Def Leppard, as well as an appearance at the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert at L.A.’s Kia Forum on September 27 where Classless Act frontman Derek Day joined Dave Grohl and members of the Foo Fighters.

It was on the road when the collaboration of DMC and Classless Act – frontman Derek Day, guitarists Dane Pieper and Griffin Tucker, bassist Franco Gravante and drummer Chuck McKissock – first went public. The rapper was a surprise guest during Classless Act’s Stadium Tour set at L.A.’s SOFI Stadium.

“The beauty of making this song with them was the whole intention of us doing it, which was performing together,” DMC adds, saying the track – combining one of the buzziest new rock bands with hip-hop’s godfathers – “breaks down generational walls.”

“That was really the intent behind the songwriting of ‘Storm Before The Calm,’” explains Classless Act frontman Derek Day. “We’re this new band, but we’ve been playing music our whole lives. We want to be this thunder when we make our presence. But we’ve been trying our whole lives to break through. We’ve gone, we suffered, ‘we’ve crawled into the void, laid down and tasted the noise.’ No matter what, we’re going to come in and punch through and be the thunder.”

As far as DMC sees it, that fire and spark is what is crucial in today’s rock scene. “That spirit is missing right now in music, that rebellion,” he says, adding that Classless Act is a great example of rock’s potential. “Punk had one finger up, hip-hop came along and had two fingers up and now Classless Act is going to make us put up four fingers.”

Stay tuned for more releases from this special cameo, including live footage released from the SOFI Stadium guest appearance.

Classless Act is currently in the studio working on new material that will follow up Welcome To The Show, with more details to be announced soon.

Exclusive: U.K.’s THE CARTOGRAPHER Premieres “Red Tape” Video

Ahead of the release of their latest EP The Cold Black and their appearance at UK Tech-Fest, Derby based deathcore mob The Cartographer have unveiled a new video for their latest single “Red Tape”, premiering exclusively on BraveWords!

Speaking about the new video, the band stated:

“For those for have heard our last EP, Mind Atla", there was a song titled ‘Overcome’. This song is a continuation, but from another person’s standpoint. The crux of it is about leaving and moving past a toxic relationship in which you felt like your dreams and aspirations were being ripped from you.”

“Red Tape” is the follow on from their last single, “Misery Systems”, which came out on April 27, 2023. The Cold Black EP is set for release on June 30, 2023.

Speaking about the EP, the band stated "The Cold Black EP is a screenshot of modern-day problems within an almost dystopian world, grappling with a rise in mental health issues within society. The core themes are self-hate, depression, and the breakdown of trust, both on a national and personal scale, and the damage that can and has caused."

Formed in 2013, The Cartographer are dedicated to channelling their combined passion & love for music into a spine shattering embodiment of modern deathcore. The band represents various emotions that derive from personal life experiences, and the band have made it their mission to remind every listener that they’re not alone in their battles.

The band have graced many stages, from performing at the prestigious UK Tech-Fest & Macmillian Fest, to supporting bands like Loathe, Skies In Motion, & King 810. With a plethora of experience behind them and an array of spine shaking songs under their belt, the band are set to appear at the 2023 edition of UK Tech-Fest before embarking on a co-headline tour with Glass Grave in November 2023. The Cold Black EP is only a taste of what is yet to come from The Cartographer.

THE WINERY DOGS Share Music Video For 'Stars'

THE WINERY DOGS, the powerhouse trio consisting of guitarist/vocalist Richie Kotzen, bassist/vocalist Billy Sheehan and drummer/vocalist Mike Portnoy, have released a music video for the song "Stars". The track is taken from the band's critically acclaimed and aptly named third album, "III", which was released in February on the band's Three Dog Music label (via Burnside Distribution/The Orchard) and is available on all digital formats. The first two videos from "III", "Mad World" and "Xanadu", were filmed in Los Angeles last November.

"During our last West Coast tour leg, we had a few days off in my neighborhood," Kotzen told Consequence, which premiered the "Stars" video. "Mike suggested we film another music video on one of the days off. Our crew brought our gear up to my house, and we set up right on the driveway and used the mountains as our backdrop."

He continued: "I was happy to do a video of the song 'Stars' because I feel like it's one of the songs that really showcases what's special about the band, and that is our ability to improv during solo sections and feed off of each other. Even though it is a studio recording, you can really get a sense of how we interact when we're recording and writing together. It's great to have a visual to go along with our composition."

The second leg of THE WINERY DOGS' "202III World Tour" included sold-out shows throughout Latin America, and it concluded in Monterrey, Mexico. They then headed out for the third leg, West Coast U.S. dates, beginning May 17 in Los Angeles, California at the Regent Theater before hopping over to Europe for two runs in both the summer and fall.

In a recent interview with Robert Cavuoto of Myglobalmind, Portnoy said that THE WINERY DOGS could not exist without any one of its three members. He explained: "[That's] especially [true] with a trio. I mean, if you have a band of four or five people, maybe you could sub somebody out if somebody's sick or somebody can't do a tour or whatever. But when you're down to only three people, those are usually three distinctive personalities. You look at RUSH, look at ZZ TOP, look at THE POLICE, look at KING'S X — I mean, these power trios… CREAM… You have to have those three personalities to make up that sound and style. And it's the same with THE WINERY DOGS. I don't think we could sub out any of us for a show or for a tour. It has to be Mike, Billy and Richie or it can't be THE WINERY DOGS."

"III" is the follow-up to the band's critically acclaimed and Billboard-charting album "Hot Streak", which was released October 2, 2015 on Loud & Proud Records via RED (a division of Sony Music Entertainment).

DARK BELOW Release "Make Believe" Single And Music Video

Columbia, MO based heavy rockers, Dark Below, have delivered their powerful new single, “Make Believe”. What began as a humble trio making music for their friends in the Midwest has grown into a promising force on the national scene.

The song features a massive, wall of sound vibe - thanks to award-winning producer Malcolm Springer (Matchbox 20, Collective Soul, Fear Factory, Josey Scott).  The song was recorded at East Iris Studios in Nashville, TN. The band is influenced by Chevelle, Breaking Benjamin, and 10 Years - and that heavy alternative sound shines through on this new release.

Dark Below’s Josh Campbell says “Make Believe’ is a song about the power of imagination. I grew up without any siblings and spent a lot of time on my own – so I think it was inevitable for me to become a really imaginative person. What I learned is that your imagination has the ability to bring you out of really dark places… But it also has the ability to put you back there, if you aren’t careful.”

The video for “Make Believe” was filmed by Tyler Gramke of Tygr Creative at Rose Music Hall in the band’s home town of Columbia, MO. Campbell explains “We’ve played a lot of shows at Rose over the last couple of years. We ended up doing two different shoots – one was just us playing along to the song and recording the video and the other was actual footage of us playing the song live a couple of weeks later.   We love the energy we get from our hometown fans, and we feed it back to them."

Stream the song here, watch the video below:

PYREXIA Releases Music Video For Rerecorded Edition Of “Day One”

Long Island, NY old school death metallers Pyrexia unleashed their 25th Anniversary edition of System Of The Animal earlier this month. The revitalized album was recorded with Pyrexia's current band lineup that consists of Chris Basile (Guitar), Shaun Kennedy (Bass), Jim Beach (Vocals), and John Glassbrenner (Drums) at Chapel Sound on Long Island, NY, along with mixing and mastering done at Demigod Studios by Miguel Tereso.

Known as one of the American OG's of brutality with their vigorous death metal and smackdown hardcore, they offer a refreshed sound of how System Of The Anaimal was meant to be.

Guitarist Chris Basile explains:

"The biggest thing over the past couple of albums is the jump in production and the main thing the band suffered from in the past was production value. The songs can be felt in the chest and the riffs can finally be heard with this newly recorded version of System of the Animal. I also felt it was ahead of its time in 1997. I don't think a lot of people were ready for such a mix of Brutal Death Metal VS. Beatdown Hardcore. When people hear this material with the new production, combined with the fact that the music was written in the mid-90s. I think it puts Pyrexia in a whole new light for a lot of people. I think the songwriting is really going to stand out for listeners bored with bands that put out the same album over and over."

Hitting the road this coming August for ten dates across the US East Coast with Cerebral Incubation (Unique Leader), Atoll (Unique Leader), Reeking Aura (Parasitic Records), Pyrexia wants those who know them and the next generation of pit brawlers to brace themselves for their new unforgiving music video "Day One".

"We didn't want to do the typical serial killer or running through the woods death metal video. I think we took it to the next level production-wise. Think Training Day meets Grand Theft Auto. Be offended. "

Pyrexia will be hitting the road this August for ten dates across the US East Coast in support of their re-recorded 25th-anniversary edition of System Of The Animal.

On as support are Cerebral Incubation, Atoll, and Reeking Aura.

Dates:

August
3 - Huntingtown, MD - 611 Cafe
4 - Richmond, VA - Another Round
5 - Charlotte, NC - The Milestone
6 - Spartanburg, SC - Ground Zero
7 - Jacksonville, FL - TBD
8 - Tampa Bay, FL - Brass Mug
9 - Orlando, FL - Conduit
10 - Atlanta, GA - TBD
11 - Newark, DE - Halftime Sports Pub
12 - Clifton, NJ - Dingbatz

Watch Pro-Shot Video Of METALLICA Performing 'Welcome Home (Sanitarium)' In Gothenburg

Professionally filmed video of METALLICA performing the song "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)" during its June 18 concert at Ullevi stadium in Gothenburg, Sweden can be seen below.

According to Aftonbladet, the show was attended by 57,430 fans — approximately 7,000 less people than were present during METALLICA's appearance in Ullevi in July 2019.

METALLICA's "M72" world tour, which launched in late April in Amsterdam, sees the band playing two nights in every city it visits — with each "No Repeat Weekend" featuring two completely different setlists and support lineups. The "M72" tour features a bold new in-the-round stage design that relocates the famed METALLICA Snake Pit to center stage, as well as the "I Disappear" full-tour pass and the debut of discounted tickets for fans under 16 years of age.

METALLICA launched the second Gothenburg show with "Whiplash" from the band's debut album, "Kill 'Em All", which came out in 1983. The group's 16-song set also included three new songs from METALLICA's latest LP, "72 Seasons": "Lux Æterna", "Screaming Suicide" and "You Must Burn!".

The band's setlist was as follows:

01. Whiplash
02. For Whom The Bell Tolls
03. Ride The Lightning
04. The Memory Remains (tour debut)
05. Lux Æterna
06. Screaming Suicide
07. Welcome Home (Sanitarium)
08. You Must Burn!
09. The Call Of Ktulu
10. No Leaf Clover (tour debut)
11. Wherever I May Roam
12. Moth Into Flame
13. Blackened
14. Whiskey In The Jar
15. One
16. Enter Sandman

Opening acts on the tour include Floor Jansen, EPICA, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, ICE NINE KILLS, MAMMOTH WVH, PANTERA, ARCHITECTS, GRETA VAN FLEET and VOLBEAT.

METALLICA promises fans who purchase a two-day ticket that they won't see the same song twice for a total of over 30 songs spanning the band's 40-plus-year career.

Each weekend offers a variety of "Enhanced Experiences", ranging from access to a meet-and-greet, production and stage tour, food and beverage in the "Black Box" lounge to early entry into the venue and the Snake Pit. The very popular "Black Laminate" is back, now known as the "I Disappear Ticket", and is the ultimate pass for the fan who wants to run away with METALLICA for multiple weekends.

A single "I Disappear" ticket purchase gives you access to as many of METALLICA's 46 headlining tour dates across Europe and North America in 2023 and 2024 as you choose. You decide how many shows you'd like to attend around the world, and for how long, and METALLICA will make it as easy as possible.

According to Billboard, "72 Seasons" sold 146,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in its first week of release to land at position No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. It marks the band's 12th Top 10-charting album, of which eight have reached the top two.

"72 Seasons" had the biggest week for any rock or hard rock album since TOOL's "Fear Inoculum" arrived in September 2019 with 270,000 equivalent album units.

"72 Seasons" was released on April 14 via METALLICA's own Blackened Recordings. Produced by Greg Fidelman with guitarist/vocalist James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich, it is METALLICA's first full-length collection of new material since "Hardwired…To Self-Destruct".

In the seven years since the arrival of "Hardwired… To Self-Destruct", METALLICA has reissued some of its classic albums, released a second live album with the San Francisco Symphony, commissioned a covers album featuring the likes of GHOST, VOLBEAT, WEEZER, Corey Taylor and THE HU, and landed on the Billboard songs chart with "Master Of Puppets" after a prominent placement in the hit Netflix show "Stranger Things".

HEXVESSEL's New Single "Ring" Is Pure Black Metal; Music Video

Hexvessel’s new single, "Ring", from new album Polar Veil, is an eerie, intense, lo-fi slab of beautiful black metal. From Kvohst’s past in Norwegian black metal bands Dødheimsgard and Code comes the storms as he summons iceberg size riffs and nightmarish, flesh-crawling choirs calling out from the dark. "Ring" is a primitive avalanche of authentic black metal.

Singer/songwriter Kvohst explains that: “With this song 'Ring', a few influential albums come to mind, like the evil riffs of Cathedral’s Forest of Equilibrium, the splendour and rage of Darkthrone’s A Blaze In The Northern Sky,  the oppressive gloom and beauty of Chelsea Wolfe’s Hiss Spun, and with the guest solo by Nameless Void from Negative Plane, their grandiose but necrotic Stained Glass Revelations record dropped like a black pearl into my abyss. 'Ring' is about being lost and found in darkness. It is a nocturne. Darkness on a symbolic level. Threatening, unpredictable landscapes of life and death.”

Hexvessel's sixth album, Polar Veil, a cold, metallic hymn to the Sub Arctic North. Haunted by primal forest spirits, Mat “Kvohst” McNerney summons the ghosts of his past in a jaw-dropping, unheard-of rebirth of style and sound. At once unmistakably Hexvessel, Polar Veil is also steeped in the nocturnal atmosphere of McNerney’s past, churned in the cauldron of black metal, ritual folk psychedelia and doom rock, and echoing with shivering Gothic undertones.

Holed up in a home-made studio in his log cabin during the winter of 2022, McNerney drew on all the fundamental elements of his music career as a shamanic shapeshifter, with only the isolation of nature’s solitude as inspiration. Painting an aura with Polar Veil which resonates with solitary reflection and themes of personal spiritual transcendence, Hexvessel’s new album is a bold statement from an artist who continues to reinvent and explore nature mysticism through music.

“Nature represents freedom, darkness and the call of the wild. Black metal has always been at the borders of my sound and playing, at the heart of everything I do. Tradition, nature, ritual, mythology, mysticism and philosophy, along with clashing and jarring chords have always been synonymous with Hexvessel. It was natural with Polar Veil, finally now as we reach the zenith of the journey, that these influences surface to the human ear, and with the freezing cold guitar sound that the climate here demands.”

Polar Veil features Nameless Void from Negative Plane, performing the guitar solo on the song "Ring" and on "Older Than The Gods", Okoi from Bølzer provides guest vocals. At first an unlikely partnership but one that makes total sense as the album deepens, and threads can be drawn that reveal the place Polar Veil is coming from.

When the components of the medicine are familiar but brewed in a completely novel concoction, the resulting side effects can be deliriously intoxicating. Peer behind this Polar Veil for a breath of fresh tundra air.

Polar Veil is pressed on exclusive limited edition transparent lake green vinyl, wider release limited transparent ice clear natural vinyl and standard issue blacker than midnight wax variants and each comes with a large scale 12 page booklet featuring artwork by Thomas Hooper.

UNDEROATH Shares New Single 'Lifeline (Drowning)'

Metalcore outfit UNDEROATH has released a new standalone single, "Lifeline (Drowning)", via MNRK Heavy. The band most recently released the acoustic version of its single "Let Go", which received acclaim from Revolver, Alternative Press and Kerrang!, and launched UNDEROATH into a U.S. headline tour with PERIPHERY. Both songs, which will be included on UNDEROATH's upcoming full-length album, set for release in early 2024, showcase the band's new direction with unmatched creativity and innovative storytelling.

Speaking on the new single, UNDEROATH said: "'Lifeline (Drowning)' is a cry for help… I feel like we've all been there, be it as simple as miscommunication or a full on toxic relationship — that very feeling that you cannot tread water like this any longer or you may end up drowning. We wanted to create a song centered around the melody that could still hold the energy of a full-blown heavy song."

UNDEROATH recently announced its summer tour dates, beginning on July 5 at Peterson's Event Center in Pittsburgh. The trek includes co-headlining dates with THE GHOST INSIDE, with support from WE CAME AS ROMANS and BETTER LOVERS, additional shows supporting FALLING IN REVERSE and ICE NINE KILLS, and appearances at the Inkcarceration, Ohio Is For Lovers and Tennessee Is For Lovers festivals.

"This tour has been a long time in the making and I couldn't be more pumped," said UNDEROATH. "The fact that we've never toured with any of these bands before is wild but the fact that we're all on one tour is making me count down the day till it starts. Insane summer ahead!"

UNDEROATH reinvents the balance between chaos and harmony with each successive release. Their compositions, conjured from creative tension, become iconoclastic anthems. Even when the band almost combusts, the crackling energy coalesces into something deeply resonant for millions.

Their pair of gold albums and three Grammy nominations stand in stark defiance of the idea of commercial compromise. The UNDEROATH catalog weaponizes noise, aggression, and ambiance as skillfully as melody. The combination of heaviness and headiness found on "Define The Great Line" makes it the only record of its kind to debut at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.

The heart of their sound, which delivers naked vulnerability with thrilling force and cinematic lushness, can be heard in generations of bands who've pursued their trail.

Walking an artistic tightrope between immersive access and isolationist otherness, UNDEROATH owns the space between huge choruses and forward-thinking heaviness, both on record and onstage.

SMASHING PUMPKINS Release 'Spellbinding' Music Video

SMASHING PUMPKINS have shared the official music video for "Spellbinding", taken from their critically acclaimed trilogy album "Atum". Directed by Kevin Kerslake, who previously directed videos for the band ("Cherub Rock" and "I Am One"),worked closely with Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin, James Iha and Jeff Schroeder to create digital avatars of themselves, existing within an otherworldly fictional universe that is "Atum", created by frontman and founder Billy Corgan.

Speaking on the making of this video, Kerslake shares: "We adopted a virtual production model for the 'Spellbinding' video, creating it entirely in the gaming engine; unreal, with digital avatars moving through fantastical worlds that play a key role in the 'Atum' storyline. Billy and I share an interest in the fusion of old-world elements with state-of-the-art technology, and all the stars aligned on this video to break new ground."

The "Spellbinding" video coincides with the launch of SMASHING PUMPKINS' North American "The World Is A Vampire" tour, which kicked off last night (Wednesday, June 28) at The Chelsea at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. Produced by Live Nation, the 27-date tour will feature special guests INTERPOL, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS and RIVAL SONS as support on various dates, as well as some of the world's biggest champions from the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA),who will be competing in most cities. "The World Is A Vampire" tour has already sold-out 30,000-plus-capacity shows in Mexico City this year, as well in cities across Australia this year, and is set to expand to more countries in the future.

The sequel to 1995's "Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness" and 2000's "Machina/Machine Of God", "Atum" features 33 tracks in three acts and was written and produced by Corgan over the past four years.

In other news, Corgan's popular podcast series "Thirty-Three With William Patrick Corgan" continues to quench the thirst of dedicated PUMPKINS fans all over the world, offering listeners the chance to hear never-before-heard "Atum" insight, as-well as diving into various aspects of the band's illustrious history. "Thirty-Three With William Patrick Corgan" is distributed by iHeart Podcasts and available on iHeartRadio and everywhere podcasts are heard.

When SMASHING PUMPKINS first emerged out of Chicago in 1988, the world had never heard a band quite like them. They spun together rock, pop, shoe-gaze, metal, goth, psychedelia, and electronic into a kaleidoscope of saccharine melodies, fuzzy distortion, bombastic orchestration, incendiary fretwork, eloquent songcraft, and unshakable hooks. Upon their formation, their sound was different, iconoclastic, and wholly new — and it still is today. As a result, they've sold over 30 million albums worldwide and collected two Grammy Awards, two MTV VMAs, and an American Music Award. Their catalog is highlighted by the platinum "Gish" (1991),the quadruple-platinum "Siamese Dream" (1993),diamond-certified "Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness" (1995),platinum "Adore" (1998) and gold "Machina/The Machines Of God" (2000). In 2018, they embarked on one of their most successful tours ever, the "Shiny And Oh So Bright" tour.

Exclusive: WE ARE SOVEREIGN Premieres “Don’t You Dare Quit (Resilience)” Video

BraveWords is hosting the exclusive premiere of the new video by British metalcore quartet We Are Sovereign; “Don’t You Dare Quit (Resilience)”, which is set for release on July 3, 2023, ahead of the release of their debut album Step Out Your Comfort Zone on September 4, 2023.

We Are Sovereign have a simple message for fans and casual listeners on their new single; “Don’t You Dare Quit (Resilience)”.

Speaking about the new single, co-vocalist Laura Russell had this to say:

“We Are Sovereign stands for resilience. This is the sole reason the band We Are Sovereign exists today. I ask you, if you're reading this and you have a dream; stay focused. Find your resilience. Believe in yourself Even if nobody else does. Don’t you dare quit.”

Russell concluded by saying:

“For those who have dreams, the dreamers, the ones who imagine themselves in places others couldn't. For those that are wanting to break doors down and conquer what others see as the impossible.”

Life is a crazy and unpredictable journey, and British metalcore quartet We Are Sovereign want to take you through every part of it with their music. Their motto is, “We speak for those who feel like giving up, we speak for those who feel like they have lost the way, and we speak for those who fear the unknown.”

It all started in 2019 in an apartment bedroom of co-vocalist and founder Laura Russell. After suffering with Gender Dysphoria since their teenage years, and having spent years battling mental health issues, Laura had a life changing operation to feel comfortable within their own skin. The emotions of Laura’s experience are where a lot of the inspiration for the music, concepts and lyrics come from. When Laura had recovered from a journey of healing and finding themselves, they began to recruit members.

Co-vocalist Ash Ho replied to an ad from Russell. They set to work writing and recording vocal demos while still hunting for the rest of the members. Despite setbacks caused by the pandemic, WAS headed into the studio with Ben Gaines at the Godhand Initiative in Derby to prep their debut album, Step Out Your Comfort Zone. Their debut singles, “Bridges Burnt Lessons Learnt (Betrayal)” and “Nostalgia (Acceptance)” did well with the media.

The band spent the remaining months of 2022 in the studio working on the album and preparing behind the scenes to hit the stage. Despite the story and journey of the band almost playing out backwards, they now have everything in place and are set to conquer stages across the UK in 2023. With a view to bring their message of inclusivity and autonomy to the masses. Their mission is to encourage people to stand up to be who they want to be and yearn for people to be comfortable within themselves.
