SEPULTURA's DERRICK GREEN Says He's Been 'Able To Exist Well Mentally And Physically' Without Playing Live MusicSEPULTURA frontman Derrick Green spoke to Jason Rockman of "The Rockman Power Hour" about he has dealt with the fact that he has been unable to perform live for nearly two years due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "It was hard at first, because I was really ready to go to tour on the album 'Quadra'. We were already reheardsing in the studio and super excited because it was the best response, I think, that we've gotten since I've been in the band. And I was super stoked, and I felt really good. I was really healthy, really ready to do this tour. So I think that first month of the whole pandemic lockdown, I was really kind of bummed out. But I [quickly] snapped out of it by doing as many things possible that made me happy other than playing music. It was a challenge.
"It's been so long, it's hard to imagine being on stage," he continued. "So I have to really get in that mindset again. It's gonna take some time.
"I've been able to exist well mentally and physically without being on the road and without playing live music, but it'll always be in my heart. It's something that I really need to do. I know that desire is still there. But it's something that I'm, like, okay, it's gotta work its way back into full drive."
Cleveland native Green went from fronting hardcore band OUTFACE in Ohio to relocating to New York and then living in São Paulo, Brazil for nearly two decades.
Green moved to Los Angeles in 2018, telling Brazil's Kazagastão: "It's kind of a shock, because so much has happened within the U.S. It's been changing radically. I mean, 20 years ago, I would never think about living in L.A., but the city, I believe, has gotten better. It's moving in a very positive direction. There's a lot of creative people that are living there, so it's a place that's really great to come into and adapt to a different life or a different mood."
Last year, SEPULTURA launched "SepulQuarta", a weekly event where the band gave insight into its colorful history, took part in question-and-answer sessions with fans and performed music while in quarantine. Some of the musical collaborations, including those with members of MEGADETH, TESTAMENT, ANTHRAX, SYSTEM OF A DOWN, TRIVIUM and SACRED REICH, was released as a full-length album, also titled "SepulQuarta", in August.
SEPULTURA comprises Green, guitarist Andreas Kisser, bassist Paulo Xisto Pinto Jr., and drummer Eloy Casagrande.
SEPULTURA was formed in Belo Horizonte by brothers Max and Igor Cavalera, who are no longer with the band. 12

INHUMANE Sign Worldwide Deal With Extreme Management GroupSpawned from the momentous former namesake, Militia, Inhumane brings a heavier, more disgusting punch of death/thrash onto the scene. Poised to make an impact out of the gate, Inhumane has inked a worldwide deal with Extreme Management Group.
The band says, "After what has been such a long year of no gigging and restrictions... We're pleased to finally announce that we're now signed to EMG and are keen to be working with the team to take this to the next level! We've got lots planned for the future and brutal thrash to deliver!"
Thrash, death metal and even hardcore, Inhumane create their very own concoction of blood churning music with lyrical content tackling dark and tragic events happening around the globe, and the unstable state of the world in the 21st Century. Under their former namesake Militia, the band previously toured with Helgrind and were announced unsigned band of the year by Metal Times as well as positive reviews by Kragen Lum (Heathen/Prototype/Exodus- Live) and Claudeous Creamer (Possessed). Moving forward from Militia’s use of classic, crowd-pleasing heavy metal themes, Inhumane embrace catchy hooks fans of death metal will love; ballsy gutturals, and attacking thrash.
A key distinction in this transformation from Militia is their image is that Inhumane present themselves with current vitality and relevancy, as opposed to ‘throwback’ or embeddedness in nostalgia. In addition to this, they do not pigeonhole themselves into tiny subgenres that would limit their reach, potential, and musical content. Inhumane aims to produce music that moves people and gets people going, creating energy and excitement. What separates Inhumane from the rest is the lyrical content that each song tackles current issues on its own, such as world’s political leaders who lack the responsibility for their heinous acts.
Extreme Management Group representative Mark Kloeppel said, “We are starting this from the ground floor, and are poised to do everything correct from the start. We see great potential with these guys.” Combining each of their inspirations, Inhumane have and will continue to create a distinct sound that will be known and remembered by everyone, regardless of genre preference.

BLOOD REVOLT Complete Debut Album; MP3 AvailableThe debut album from BLOOD REVOLT, formed from the Canadian/Irish triumvirate that consists of PRIMORDIAL vocalist A. A. Nemtheanga, REVENGE/CONQUEROR mastermind J. Read, and AXIS OF ADVANCE/REVENGE guitarist C. Ross, has reached its completion.
In what will be presented as one of the coldest, confrontational, uneasy, most-intimidating and challenging extreme metal albums that will corrupt people’s ears this year, the Blood Revolt debut album (which goes under the moniker Indoctrine) utilizes tactics from all forms of extreme metal and collectively draws upon the members combined experience of over 30 releases in the metal underground.
Unlike any metal album being presented today, Indoctrine amalgamates the elements each band member have defined for themselves in their other respective creative outlets.
The familiar soaring and distinct mighty vocal approach that Nemtheanga utilizes in Primordial is ever present in Blood Revolt, his vocals countering with the massive, chaotic, and tactically constructed whirlwind rhythm section provided by J. Read and C. Ross, an intriguing combination that can cause disorder and unease amongst the listener.
But it’s such a volatile amalgamation that is set to challenge and confront all listener expectations.
Without any kind of reliance on any sort of digital trickery, triggered effects, or studio enhancing methods employed to create such a raw, primal and ultimately vicious and unforgiving production and sound, Indoctrine will manifest itself as an uncompromising attack on people’s pre-conceptions of what so-called “extreme metal” should encompass.
Thematically, Indoctrine takes a glimpse into one man’s descent into madness and untimely vengeance.
An attack on the system and a social commentary where salvation is found from the barrel of a gun, Indoctrine is like the lone wolf that calmly waits to attack and becomes a statement of intent that there is a war coming.
Delving further within the concept of Blood Revolt, vocalist A. A. Nemtheanga states, “In an age of compromise Blood Revolt is genuine rebellion. Pushing the boundaries of what is accepted in 'extreme' metal, Blood Revolt is metal with teeth, like it should be. Genuine violence and aggression mixed with the kind of very real and very dark subject matter that would make other bands heads spin. No cartoon imagery or fantastical pseudo religious hocus pocus, this is the sniper filing down the pin before picking off innocents, this is the suicide bombers sweaty greasy hand on the ignition, dead bodies piled in the politics of the mass grave. Unforgiving and unrelenting elitism…”
To be released early July in North America through Profound Lore Records (Invictus Productions in Europe), tracklisting for Indoctrine goes as follows:
'Salvation At The Barrel Of A Gun'
'Dead City Stare'
'Bite The Hand, Purge The Flesh'
'God's Executioner, Praise Be'
'My Name In Blood Across The Sky'
'Indoctrine'
'Year Zero'
'The Martyr's Brigade'

Finland's GOMORRAN Release Debut Album Today; New Single / Video "Esaiah" StreamingFinnish Helsinki-based blackened death metal band Gomorran release their debut record, Excerpts From the Dark Age, today ( December 3rd) via Inverse Records. To celebrate the release, the band also released their third music video, "Esaiah". Check it out below.
Guitarist Joonatan Wiitasalo & drummer Olli Lappalainen comment: “It is an incredible feeling to behold the final product. When we first started this project in 2019 with Joonatan and thought about all the things we could do, the making and publishing of our own record was barely a dream. We talked about “what would be cool to do”. In the end that alone motivated a lot and it sparked a deep will to create something real. In a way it was evident, that nothing happens by itself and no one is gonna make anything come to fruition for you. Then we formed a band and now after two years of hard work we have a complete record and big hopes and medium sized plans for the future.
We have poured countless hours of time and energy into this record, but lo and behold this chapter came to an end. This record is our magnum opus at least so far, a project that let’s us show the work we have done during this quarantine year. This record encapsulates four musicians’ lifelong love of metal music - the song ideas that have finally come into reality.”
Tracklist:
"Tavern"
"Black Plague"
"Sermon"
"Hopeless Endeavor"
"Esaiah"
"Hail Caesar"
Gomorran was formed in Helsinki in the Fall of 2019, when Olli Lappalainen’s hiatus from playing drums came to an end. There was a burning desire to form a new band and get back to producing metal music. Guitarist Joonatan Wiitasalo ended his own hiatus and joined to release his heavy music creativity. In the following months many new song ideas came to light.
Even though the composing was proceeding strong, the band desperately lacked members. By the end of summer 2020 the band was joined by an ambassador of evil soundwaves, singer guitarist Perttu Laamanen. Perttu gave a huge boost to the composing of new material. Song structures and ideas formed into complete songs and Gomorran started to plan on producing its debut record. In the beginning of 2021, right before the recordings of Excerpts from the Dark Age, bassist Panu Nykänen joined to amplify the lower frequencies.
When Olli and Joonatan wanted to compose merciless ass-kicking music, inspired by Ajattara and Cannibal Corpse, Gomorran’s first song Black Plague was born in the spring of 2020. The song was held as a beacon to the direction the band should musically strive forward to. Gomorran perceives their music as death metal that draws influence from the murkiness of black metal. The impact of other music genres cannot be downplayed, since the members of the band own a wide range of musical influences. Lyrics on the Excerpts from the Dark Age record include harrowing stories about the Roman empire, Middle Ages and from pagan literature.
The band ended up recording their debut record, Excerpts From The Dark Age, independently in the band’s rehearsal room in Vallila, Helsinki. Mixing and recording was done by Gomorran’s drummer Olli Lappalainen. Choir, keyboard and strings were arranged and produced by Markus Lappalainen. The recording and mixing of the album was finished in July of 2021, following mastering done by Sound Spiral Studios’ Juho Räihä.

VOLBEAT Releases Lyric Video For New Song 'Temple Of Ekur'Danish/American rock and rollers VOLBEAT have released a lyric video for the song "Temple Of Ekur". The track is taken from the band's eighth studio album, "Servant Of The Mind", which is being made available today (Friday, December 3) via Republic Records.
For "Servant Of The Mind", the band, which consists of Michael Poulsen (guitars/vocals), Jon Larsen (drums), Rob Caggiano (guitars) and Kaspar Boye Larsen (bass) took their signature heavy metal, psychobilly and punk 'n' roll sound up a notch while showcasing Poulsen's keen ability for songwriting and storytelling.
"I wrote the whole album in three months," recalls Poulsen, "I was in a good place and mood while at home, and had a captive audience of myself… There are a lot of VOLBEAT signatures in it. If you go back to the first record and compare it to where we are now, you can hear how the band has developed its style, while keeping the signature sound."
The album also includes the "double barrel" of summer songs the band released this past June: "Wait A Minute My Girl" and "Dagen Før" (featuring Stine Bramsen), the former of which became the band's ninth number one single on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.
Previously released single "Shotgun Blues" is an anthemic track in which Poulsen explores the ghostly events he recently experienced upon moving into a new home. Other songs on the album weave intricate and fascinating tales. "The Sacred Stones" tells the story of "an earthly being who has committed himself to the dark side. He is on a mission, speaking to darker forces and fallen angels." Meanwhile, "The Devil Rages On" looks at the idea of the devil taking human form. The aforementioned album opener "Temple Of Ekur" returns to the ancient themes explored in past songs such as "The Gates Of Babylon", while the epic album closer "Lasse's Birgita" explores the story of the first witch burnings to occur in Sweden in 1471.
"Servant Of The Mind" standard edition track listing:
01. Temple Of Ekur
02. Wait A Minute My Girl
03. The Sacred Stones
04. Shotgun Blues
05. The Devil Rages On
06. Say No More
07. Heaven's Descent
08. Dagen Før (feat. Stine Bramsen)
09. The Passenger
10. Step Into Light
11. Becoming
12. Mindlock
13. Lasse's Birgitta
Deluxe 2 CD/2 LP and digital deluxe bonus tracks:
14. Return To None (WOLFBRIGADE cover)
15. Domino (THE CRAMPS/ROY ORBISON cover)
16. Shotgun Blues (feat. Dave Matrise from JUNGLE ROT)
17. Dagen Før (Michael Vox Version)
VOLBEAT is two decades deep into a career that has found them sharing stages with genre legends like BLACK SABBATH, METALLICA, MOTÖRHEAD, SLIPKNOT, MEGADETH, ANTHRAX and more. They have racked up nearly three billion cumulative streams over the course of their career, notched a "Best Metal Performance" Grammy nomination for "Room 24" (featuring King Diamond) from 2014's acclaimed (and gold-selling) "Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies", and have grabbed multiple Danish Music Awards. Not ones to rest on their laurels, their forthcoming album "Servant Of The Mind", which was written and recorded during the shutdown and quarantine necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic, is introspective but pulls no punches and is no less raucous or driving than their previous efforts.
Since forming in 2001, VOLBEAT has gone from the clubs of Copenhagen to headlining stages around the world, including the famed Telia Parken stadium in Denmark (becoming the only domestic artist to ever sell out the venue). Over the course of seven record-breaking albums the band has picked up number one songs (including nine No. 1s on the U.S. Mainstream Rock chart and counting, the most of any band based outside of North America), multi-platinum certifications, awards and accolades all over the planet. Their latest album, "Rewind, Replay, Rebound", was released in August 2019 and has spawned the hit singles "Last Day Under The Sun", "Die To Live" (featuring Neil Fallon) and "Leviathan". A live album featuring songs recorded during the subsequent world tour, "Rewind, Replay, Rebound: Live In Deutschland", was released digitally in November 2020. Most recently, they contributed a cover of "Don't Tread On Me" to "The Metallica Blacklist", with all proceeds from the track benefiting METALLICA's All Within My Hands foundation and the Børne Cancer Fonden of Denmark.

LED ZEPPELIN's JIMMY PAGE And ROBERT PLANT Pay Tribute To Former Tour Manager RICHARD COLELED ZEPPELIN legends Jimmy Page and Robert Plant have paid tribute to the band's former tour manager Richard Cole, who died on Thursday (December 2) at the age of 75.
In addition to working with LED ZEPPELIN from 1968 to 1980, Cole worked with Eric Clapton, BLACK SABBATH, Lita Ford and Ozzy Osbourne, among others.
Page remembered his longtime friend fondly, writing on social media: "Yesterday, on the 2nd of December at 2.05am, Richard Cole passed after a brave and lengthy fight against cancer.
"Richard and I went back a long way and he had been recruited by Peter Grant to be tour manager with THE YARDBIRDS Keith Relf, Jim McCarty, Chris Dreja, and myself during our American touring schedule of underground venues. He was with me at the time that band folded and when I formed @ledzeppelin.
"From the time of the rehearsals at my home at Pangbourne through to the touring of the USA, we witnessed the phenomena that was LED ZEPPELIN. He was there for the first and last concerts of the band.
"He was a brother and a friend to the end. Goodbye my dear friend. They were special times and so were you."
Plant wrote: "Farewell Ricardo...sadly no more tall tales...brave to the end."
In 1992, Cole published a book, "Stairway To Heaven: Led Zeppelin Uncensored", which included claims of drug use and on-tour excesses and was not authorized by the surviving members of LED ZEPPELIN. Page told Guitar World in 1993 about the tome: "There's a book written by our former road manager, Richard Cole, that has made me completely ill. I'm so mad about it that I can't even bring myself to read the whole thing. The two bits that I have read are so ridiculously false that I'm sure if I read the rest, I'd be able to sue Cole and the publishers. But it would be so painful to read that it wouldn't be worth it."
Cole and LED ZEPPELIN eventually made amends, and he was later seen at the band's 2007 reunion show and the "Celebration Day" film premiere in 2012.

SLASH FEAT. MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORS Share New Song 'Fill My World'"Fill My World", another song from SLASH FEATURING MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORS' upcoming album, titled "4", can be streamed below. Due on February 11, 2022, via Gibson Records in partnership with BMG, "4" is Slash's fifth solo album and fourth overall with his band featuring Myles Kennedy (vocals), Brent Fitz (drums), Todd Kerns (bass, vocals) and Frank Sidoris (guitar, vocals).
In October, SLASH FEATURING MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORS released the official music video for the LP's first single, "The River Is Rising", shot on location in downtown Los Angeles with Gibson TV director Todd Harapiak.
For "4", Slash and the band traveled across the country together to Nashville, Tennessee and recorded the new album at the historic RCA Studio A with producer Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, John Prine, Jason Isbell, Brandi Carlile), revealing a stunning new sound and style all captured live in the studio. Cobb shared the band's desire to lay down the tracks live, in the studio including guitar solos and vocals — a first for the group.
The band's previous albums over the last decade — "Apocalyptic Love", "World On Fire" and "Living The Dream" — have continued on an upward trajectory, all achieving Top 5 Billboard charting debuts in the U.S. and reaching the Top 10 on 12 major charts across the globe. To date, the three SLASH FEATURING MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORS albums have now garnered 10 consecutive Top 5 Radio singles, spawned sold-out world tours, and have earned Slash and the band the best critical acclaim of their career with their latest album "Living The Dream" (2018) singled out by the Los Angeles Times, Classic Rock, Guitar World, Loudwire, LA Weekly, and more, as their best songs to date.
The new album "4" has the added history-making distinction of being the first-ever album to be released on the new Gibson Records label, which is headquartered in the iconic American instrument brand Gibson's hometown of Music City, Nashville. In light of the 30-year partnership between Gibson and the Grammy Award-winning Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee Slash, it makes sense the new SLASH FEATURING MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORS' album "4" will be released via Gibson Records.
SLASH FEATURING MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORS will kick off a North American headlining tour on February 8, in Portland, Oregon and hit 28 major cities, including Los Angeles, New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, Denver, Nashville, Dallas, Austin, Houston, and more, before wrapping up March 26 in Orlando, Florida.

YE BANISHED PRIVATEERS Release Scraggly Christmas Classic Cover “Carol Of Bellows”; Lyric VideoYarrr-tide greetings! Following the release of first holiday single “Sulphur Ahoy”, boisterous pack Ye Banished Privateers continue to stir up this Christmas with the next single off their upcoming album. The new single from the pirate shanty folk outfit, entitled “Carol Of Bellows”, offers another taste of their upcoming Christmas album, A Pirate Stole My Christmas, gliding their shipmates through the dreary winter in trademark pirate fashion.
On “Carol Of Bellows”, the notorious bunch show that they are able to sail on tranquil waters, still giving the Christmas classic a scraggly pirate-folk tone, riddled with pirate madness.
Ye Banished Privateers on “Carol Of Bellows”: “’Carol Of Bellows’ is our take on the epic traditional masterpiece ‘Carol Of The Bells’. Through a mix of chorals, bawdy Swedish traditional folk tunes and a Ukrainian nursery rhyme, we tell the tale of Bellows triumphant return from the grave. So, as the resurrected Bellows himself says between his incoherent ramblings - Yule is the time to rejoice, to drink rum and get too drunk, now go and fetch that rum!”
Watch the official lyric video for “Carol Of Bellows”:
´Tis the jolliest of seasons! Swedish sea dogs Ye Banished Privateers have come a’rowing through rough seas and salty winds to steal Christmas in the most swashbuckling of ways. Wrapped in the swag of pirate folk rock, the newly interpreted, grim covers of beloved Christmas classics on A Pirate Stole My Christmas draw the listener into a dark underworld of blood and bones! Ye Banished Privateers put their shanty and pirate folk-infused spin on Christmas tunes like "Twelve Days Of Christmas” and the captivating album opener “Ring The Bells”. The well-known classic “Oh Christmas Tree” gets a new coat of paint when Ye Banished Privateers re-word it to “O Cannonball” - most definitely making Christmas Eve a special occasion for the most beautiful time of the year.
Ye Banished Privateers add: “If given enough time, every artist will eventually lose their last ounce of self-respect, and release a Christmas album. Ye Banished Privateers are no strangers to self-loathing commercial stunts, and with our new album - A Pirate Stole my Christmas, we aim to officially join the ranks of Christmas legends such as Maria Carey and Bing Crosby. Our album is compiled of 11 classic carols defiled into an unrecognizable pulp of rum-drenched atonal pirate madness. If you didn't hate Christmas before, this is certain to change your mind!”

ALAN PARSONS Announces Upcoming Release, One Note Symphony: Live In Tel Aviv; "Standing On Higher Ground" Video PostedFrontiers Music Srl announces the release of another stunning live performance from Alan Parsons and his incredibly skilled band of musicians, One Note Symphony: Live In Tel Aviv on February 11. The band's performance with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra will be available on 2CD + DVD, Blu-ray, 3xLP, and Digital formats.
Watch a performance of the track "Standing On Higher Ground" below, and pre-order/save One Note Symphony: Live In Tel Aviv here.
On how this very special performance came together, Alan says "We had been booked to play here with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and I thought it might be a great opportunity to record a video of the show. It’s a rare treat to perform with an orchestra, so I asked the IM3 Global Entertainment video team of Trinity Houston and David Minasian, who earlier that year had done a great job filming two of our live shows in the Netherlands and produced our latest music video, The NeverEnding Show, to join us and film this performance as well. As luck would have it, they agreed to make the trip to Tel Aviv, and hired a fantastic crew of local cameramen and technicians. We are all very proud of the final result."
"Whenever I have an opportunity to play with a Symphony Orchestra, I always try to incorporate songs into the setlist that we wouldn't otherwise be able to perform live, such as the epic "Silence and I" from the Eye In the Sky album. We also took advantage of this opportunity to play The Sorcerer's Apprentice from our latest studio album, The Secret. It's a new version of a well-known classical piece written by Frenchman Paul Dukas that originally appeared in the movie Fantasia. Tom Brooks, our keyboard player, is also an incredibly talented orchestral arranger. He arranged and conducted all of the orchestral pieces for this particular performance, using former Alan Parsons Project conductor Andrew Powell as inspiration for the scores of some of the other songs included in the show," continues Alan.
Alan and his band have played in Tel Aviv (and Haifa) three times previously in 2010, 2015 and in 2017 and were thrilled to return to Israel. "There is a special sense of excitement whenever we play there. To be given the honor to perform with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, who are one of the greatest orchestras in the world, was a fantastic experience," adds Alan.
Alan Parsons' career started when he was 19 years old and earned his first album credit on the Beatles "Abbey Road", an album recorded in the legendary London studios of the same name. He soon became a well respected studio engineer, working for Paul McCartney, John Miles, The Hollies, Al Stewart, and Pink Floyd, among others. He is particularly renowned for his work on the Pink Floyd masterpiece "The Dark Side of The Moon". Recorded in 1972, Parsons experimented with many of the most advanced recording techniques of the time, showcasing his forward thinking approach. In 1975, Alan formed The Alan Parsons Project along with executive producer, songwriter, and occasional singer, Eric Woolfson. The Project consisted of a revolving group of studio musicians and vocalists, often involving the members of two bands Alan had produced: Pilot (Ian Bairnson, Stuart Tosh, and David Paton) and (on the first album) Ambrosia. The Alan Parsons Project released ten acclaimed studio albums, but never toured live, even after several US and UK Top 20 hits. The Project released their final album in 1987.
Since then, Alan has released four albums under his own name, often featuring musicians that also appeared on the Project releases. In 1994, he started touring regularly as The Alan Parsons Live Project. In 2019, Alan returned with an acclaimed new studio album, his first in 15 years, entitled “The Secret”. The album was followed by a comprehensive world tour which saw Alan and his band perform new songs together with classic tracks from his catalogue. As well as receiving gold and platinum awards from several countries, Parsons has received thirteen Grammy Award nominations for his engineering and production work. In 2019, he won a Grammy for "Best Immersive Album" for his 5.1 surround remix of the Eye In The Sky album.
