Colorado metal force Allegaeon return with their sixth studio album, Damnum, set for release on February 25th, 2022 via Metal Blade Records. Today, the five-piece also deliver a blistering look into their new album with the first streaming single/video "Into Embers".

"As an introduction to our new album, Damnum, we are thrilled to present "Into Embers," Allegaeon vocalist Riley McShane proudly states. "This song embodies the dark and fitful nature of this album by bringing to the table elements of ourselves as a band and as individual musicians that we have been waiting to share with you all for a long, long time. As always, we are excited for our listeners to join us as we step forward into new landscapes - continuing to push the boundaries of our music further and further - and we are eager to experience the unveiling of Damnum together over these next few months."

DEE SNIDER On AC/DC's New Album Featuring MALCOLM YOUNG's Guitar Tracks: 'It's Insane Just To Think About It'

DEE SNIDER On AC/DC's New Album Featuring MALCOLM YOUNG's Guitar Tracks: 'It's Insane Just To Think About It'

Dee Snider says that "it's insane just to think about" the fact that AC/DC's much-anticipated new album will utilize previously unreleased guitar tracks from late guitarist Malcolm Young.

Last December, Snider confirmed that he had dinner with Brian Johnson and that the AC/DC frontman was doing "good," four years after he was forced to leave the band mid-tour due to a dangerous level of hearing loss. He was eventually replaced on the road by GUNS N' ROSES vocalist Axl Rose.

Asked in a new interview with Marci Wiser of the 95.5 KLOS radio station when fans will finally get a chance to hear new music from AC/DC, the TWISTED SISTER singer said (hear audio below): "I think that everybody — and you've seen this with the movie industry; you've seen this across the board — not everybody, but a lot of people have said, 'Let's just put a hold on everything until everything until things settle down a little.'

"I think they're planning on a tour to go with the new record, and I know they're spoiled old brats like me — they don't wanna do it online or something," Dee continued. "They know they're gonna be playing stadiums on this tour."

Two years ago, Johnson and drummer Phil Rudd, along with guitarists Angus Young and Stevie Young, were photographed outside Vancouver's Warehouse Studios. Based on the pictures, the assumption was that AC/DC was in the midst of making — or at least planning — another album, with Rudd and Johnson both back in the lineup.

"I'm an O.G. AC/DC fan," Dee said. "I discovered them in Australia, before they were even here in the States. And to see the classic lineup — Cliff and Brian and Angus and Phil… To see the classic lineup and know that they actually had tracks from Malcolm that they've used. So you're actually getting the band on this record. It's insane just to think about it."

Snider's latest comments seem to corroborate a September 2018 report from JAM! magazine, which cited a "reliable source inside the AC/DC camp" as indicating that the band was recording a new LP which will utilize previously unreleased guitar tracks from Malcolm Young on all the songs.

This past February, Snider said that AC/DC's upcoming album will feature "some surprises" related to Malcolm Young that will blow the minds of the band's diehard fans.

Ever since AC/DC completed the tour cycle for its 2014 album "Rock Or Bust" four years ago — a turbulent trek that weathered the forced retirement and eventual death of co-founder Malcolm Young, plus the departures of Johnson, Rudd and bassist Cliff Williams — fans have wondered whether sole remaining founding member Angus Young would keep the band going or decide it was time for AC/DC to pack it in.

In February 2019, a photo surfaced on social media suggesting that Williams has also returned to AC/DC and will appear on the rumored comeback album.

TED NUGENT Says He Is 'Praying' For 'Nasty, Rotten Prick' ALEC BALDWIN Over Fatal Prop Gun Shooting

TED NUGENT Says He Is 'Praying' For 'Nasty, Rotten Prick' ALEC BALDWIN Over Fatal Prop Gun Shooting

Ted Nugent has weighed in on the fatal on-set shooting last week involving actor Alec Baldwin.

Baldwin shot a prop firearm while rehearsing a scene on the set of the movie "Rust", killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. Hutchins died on Thursday after being airlifted to the University of New Mexico Hospital. Director Joel Souza was also injured in the incident but was released from the hospital the following day.

Nugent discussed the incident during his Facebook Live stream on Monday (October 25). He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "I'm not gonna comment right now on… What's the dirtbag that shot the guy with a prop gun? Alec Baldwin. We don't know the details. But until we know the details, all I wanna say is I know Alec Baldwin is just a nasty, nasty man. He would attack the good families of the NRA that did nothing wrong and blame us when there was a school shooting. So we know he's a liar and his brain is fried and he's just a prick. But you know what we're gonna do for the brainfried, nasty, rotten prick? We're gonna pray for him until we find out the details of that terrible accident — if it was an accident. Because you know if you point the gun at something and you blow that thing up, it's not an accident; that's negligence. So as big of a prick as Alec Baldwin is, we're actually praying for the prick, because I know he's hurtin'. Nobody wants to kill anybody in an unnecessary moment like that."

The outpoken conservative rocker and avid hunter, who is the national spokesman for pro-hunting lobbying group Hunter Nation, continued: "When I did the 'Miami Vice' episode, I had a prop gun that happened to be the exact replica of the Taurus brushed nickel nine-millimeter that I carried at the time. So when I went to perform on 'Miami Vice' back in '84, '85, 'Little Miss Dangerous' time, I made sure I disassembled my Taurus and separated the spring and the slide and the frame and the barrel, and I separated everything so there was no possibility whatsoever that someone would mistake my real brushed nickel nine-millimeter with the prop brushed nickel nine-millimeter. And even when I shot Don Johnson in the shootout, I made sure I wasn't pointing it at him. I cannot point a gun at anything I'm not willing to destroy. So I can't wait to find out what happened. But because he's a liberal prick, and the media is controlled by liberal pricks, and all the so-called justice in America is controlled by liberal pricks — for the most part. Only the guilty need to feel guilty, 'cause there's some really good judges and good lawyers and good attorney generals out there — I think nine total. But since the so-called court systems of America are basically run by a gang of pricks, they'll probably cover for the Alec prick. And we'll probably never find out what happened."

Baldwin famously impersonated former president Donald Trump during his time in office on "Saturday Night Live". Those impersonations were a sore point for the former president, who would often take the time to rail against the actor's performances on Twitter.

Nugent, who recently resigned from the board of the National Rifle Association (NRA) after 26 years, has called Trump "the greatest president in our lifetime." He also said the billionaire real estate mogul represents "the heart and soul of the best American families out there."

Leading up to the 2020 presidential election, Nugent teamed up with Donald Trump Jr. on the campaign trail.

Nugent, known as the "Motor City Madman," moved to Texas from Michigan more than 18 years ago.

KURT DEIMER Releases “Burn Together” Video Feat. GEOFF TATE

KURT DEIMER Releases “Burn Together” Video Feat. GEOFF TATE

Kurt Deimer has announced the release of the video for his new single “Burn Together,” directed by Scottish filmmaker Paul Boyd (Sting, Deadmau5, The Cult). The video spotlights Deimer’s cinematic vision and charismatic presence and features former Queensrÿche frontman Geoff Tate on guest vocals. The track and video are the first offering from Deimer’s upcoming debut EP Work Hard Rock Hard, following the release of his cover of the Pink Floyd classic “Have A Cigar.”

“One of my most enduring musical memories is Geoff Tate performing ‘Silent Lucidity’ with Queensrÿche in front of an orchestra on the MTV Video Awards thirty years ago, so to have Geoff Tate performing on my first release and in a video with me is beyond surreal,” said Kurt Deimer. “His music has had a profound influence on me, and now I get to celebrate that influence on tour and in the video. Paul Boyd did an amazing job filtering my vision through his lens and creativity. It’s such an honor to be surrounded by so many talented people.”

“Kurt Deimer knows exactly what he wants and gives 100% on screen. His song “Burn Together” and the video collaboration we made with Geoff Tate is a breath of fresh air in the sea of sameness.  Kurt wants to break the mold and he’s got a story to tell…and his live show kicks ass too,” said Paul Boyd.

“Burn Together” debuted as #3 most added on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Indicator chart, following only Papa Roach and Bad Wolves, and premiered on the Foundations Secondary Market Rock Chart as the fourth most added..

The song is the public’s first taste of what to expect from Kurt Deimer’s upcoming debut EP, Work Hard, Rock Hard. Due for release later this year, the all-original EP is ripe with Deimer’s enchanting lyrical musings, the brazen musicianship of his musical director and key collaborator Phil X [Bon Jovi], and the epic production of Chris Lord-Alge (Rolling Stones, Green Day, Joe Cocker).

Joined by a band that includes guitarists Phil X - who is splitting time between Deimer and Bon Jovi - and Michale Vassos, bassist Cristian Sturba and drummer Dango, Kurt Deimer embarked on his first tour this fall in support of Geoff Tate. Deimer will continue to hold down direct support duties this November as the legendary frontman performs the Queensrÿche albums Empire and Rage For Order in their entirety across North America.

Following the departure of bassist Martyn Millard, stoner metal masters Orange Goblin have regrouped, recruiting old comrade Harry Armstrong for their new studio opus and impending live shows, and have signed a new deal with Peaceville Records. The 10th full length will be out sometime in 2022.

Orange Goblin frontman Ben Ward comments: "When we first started the band back in 1995, Peaceville was a label we admired so much due to the number of amazing bands they were releasing and building careers for at the time. To join a roster that released albums by the likes of Autopsy, Darkthrone, Paradise Lost, Anathema, My Dying Bride, Pentagram, At The Gates, Aura Noir and many more is an absolute honour and we look forward to continuing that amazing bloodline of talent, alongside the killer bands that they currently have on their books. We spoke to a few labels when our last deal ended and the enthusiasm, vision and passion for the music that Peaceville showed made this a really easy decision for all of us. We can't wait to start work on what will be the 10th Orange Goblin studio album. With a new bass player in place we are now writing new material and expect to have this released sometime in 2022. Cheers!"

Paul Groundwell (Peaceville label manager) says: "As trailblazers of the UK heavy metal scene for well over two decades now, and a band which has remained consistent in their attitude and with unwavering integrity towards their art, we're delighted to now welcome Orange Goblin to the Peaceville family for more top class doom-fuelled shenanigans to come."

Finnish Folk / Death Metallers CROWEN To Release Debut EP In December; New Single / Video "Exosus" Streaming

Finnish Folk / Death Metallers CROWEN To Release Debut EP In December; New Single / Video "Exosus" Streaming

Finnish folk influenced melodic death metal band Crowen is set to release their debut EP, Prophecy, on December 10th via Inverse Records. They have released their first single and video, "Exosus". Check it out below.

Frontman Esa Uusimaa comments: "'Exosus' is one of the first songs I have composed for Crowen. I have been working on new songs during this year. Due to these new songs, this new single almost didn't make it to the EP release.

The song has a massive beginning, blast beat sweeps the listener away. Strings bring wistfulness to the song, making the sound melodic and brutal at the time. The songwriter, Nina Kärki, was inspired by a story of a hated person. The catching melody flows throughout the song and growl vocals tie the song together."

Crowen was founded in 2019 by Esa Uusimaa (Rain of Acid, ex-Wolfheart). The band released their fist single, "In Arms", in September 2020.

"Seer's Prophecy"

BLACK SABBATH Drummer BILL WARD Shares Three New Halloween Poems

BLACK SABBATH Drummer BILL WARD Shares Three New Halloween Poems

Founding BLACK SABBATH drummer Bill Ward has shared three new original poems apparently titled "Halloween 2021", "A Walk Home" and "Cold… And Dark". Check them out below.

Ward has released a number of poems in recent months, some inspired by the coronavirus pandemic and others celebrating the fall–winter holiday season, including Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Bill was on board for the SABBATH reunion when it was first announced more than nine years ago, but backed out soon after. The drummer later claimed that he sat out the recording and touring sessions because of unfair contractual terms, although the members of SABBATH have hinted in other interviews that he wasn't physically up to the task.

All four original members of SABBATH were present when the band announced its reunion in late 2011. But Ward split from the group in 2012, citing an "unsignable" contract, and singer Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi and bassist Geezer Butler carried on with their Rick Rubin–produced "13" LP and extensive international touring without him.

Ozzy told The Pulse Of Radio during SABBATH's last tour that Ward was not in shape to participate. "Bill Ward has got the most physically demanding job of the lot of us, 'cause he's the timekeeper," he said. "I don't think personally he had the chops to pull it off, you know. The saddest thing is that he needed to own up to that, and we could have worked around it, whether we had a drummer on the side with him or something."

It was rumored that SABBATH wanted to bring a second drummer on the road to share duties with Ward, something that Iommi confirmed in 2017 during a question-and-answer session about SABBATH's "Ten Year War" box set.

In 2015, Ward released his first solo album in 18 years. Titled "Accountable Beasts", the record can be purchased on iTunes.

In November 2017, Ward's band DAY OF ERRORS released its first two songs, "Day Of Errors" and "Blaspheming At Creation", via iTunes, Spotify, Amazon MP3 and Google Play. Two more tracks, "Dark" and "Ghost Train", followed in 2019.

This past March, Ward revealed that he was working on an autobiography.

JAY JAY FRENCH Says TWISTED SISTER Is One Of 'Only A Handful Of Bands' Promoters Will Trust To Perform In Front Of 100 Thousand People

JAY JAY FRENCH Says TWISTED SISTER Is One Of 'Only A Handful Of Bands' Promoters Will Trust To Perform In Front Of 100 Thousand People

In a new interview with MetalAsylum.net, Jay Jay French spoke about how TWISTED SISTER built its reputation as one of the best live acts on the planet. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "When a fan comes to see the band, they expect certain songs — always. And when a band says, 'Here's some new stuff from our new album,' that just means they're not playing stuff that the public wants to hear. And we decided a long time ago, 'We wanna play exactly what they wanna hear.' That's one of the reasons why we were so successful — we played exactly what they wanted to hear. 'Here's 17 songs. We're gonna play these 17; they should make you very happy.' If you want us to replace a couple of 'em with some new stuff, let's vote.' You know what the vote would be? 99 to one not to do it. So when most classic bands come out with a new record, the mistake they make is [they say], 'Oh, we're gonna promote our new record.' No one gives a fuck about your new record. They really don't. So what happens is [the bands] fool themselves into thinking they do, and the first week they're playing five songs, and then the next week they're playing four songs, and the next [week] they're playing two, and then one month into the tour, they're playing one song from the new record. Why? Because nobody really cares. It doesn't mean the song isn't good; it doesn't mean the band isn't good — it doesn't mean any of that. The point is you're entertainers. So what's the point? Are you there to entertain or not? Now, there are some people who don't give a shit. Bob Dylan could care less whether you like the way he performs or not. He obviously turns his back against you; he mumbles; you don't even know what the fuck he's singing. And that's what he wants to do — that's his way of doing it. We don't work that way."

He continued: "Look, let me put it to you this clearly: whether you like TWISTED SISTER or you don't like TWISTED SISTER, here's an undeniable fact — we're one of the only handful of bands that a promoter will trust with a hundred thousand people. Simple as that. We've played a ton of those shows. A hundred thousand people close out these festivals. I'm not talking about the afternoon where you're playing in front of ten thousand or twenty thousand; I'm talking about a hundred thousand. When you are headlining a festival that holds anywhere from eighty to a hundred and ten thousand people and you're the headliner, you have to not suck; you have to be great; and you have to make sure you're great; and you have to make sure that everybody walks out and says, 'That was great, and that was a great festival.' That's the responsibility that KISS has, that JUDAS PRIEST has, that AC/DC has, that DEF LEPPARD has… These are the top-echelon bands that are going out there and are told… IRON MAIDEN; there's only maybe twenty of us that can go out there and can accept the responsibility of delivering happiness to a hundred thousand people. Well, you have to be really good to do that. And then, when you've reached and attained that ability to do it, you have to be grateful that you've reached that ability to do it, and you have to deliver it every time. And that's what I'm probably most proud of."

TWISTED SISTER called it quits in 2016 after completing a farewell 40th-anniversary tour. The band's last-ever concert took place in November of that year — 20 months after the passing of TWISTED's longtime drummer A.J. Pero.

French's new "bizoir" — part memoir and part business primer — "Twisted Business: Lessons From My Life In Rock 'N' Roll", was released last month via RosettaBooks.

TEMPERANCE Share Drum Playthrough Video For New Single "Breaking The Rules Of Heavy Metal"

TEMPERANCE Share Drum Playthrough Video For New Single "Breaking The Rules Of Heavy Metal"

After releasing their vibrant fifth studio album, Viridian, in 2020, Temperance delight their devotees with the persuasive new offering Diamanti, to be released on November 19 via Napalm Records. With Diamanti, the exceptionally skilled Italian outfit once again showcases their extraordinary ability to merge brilliant vocal melodies, hefty power metal guitar riffing, and symphonic soundscapes in perfect harmony - all dressed in modern surroundings. This is an offering that fans of bands like Amaranthe will fall in love with immediately.

The new single, “Breaking The Rules Of Heavy Metal”, breaks in with full force, telling an epic tale and creating a far-reaching sense of common bond. This absolute anthem showcases the powerful strength and energy of all three vocalists Alessia Scolletti, Michele Guaitoli and Marco Pastorino, providing a taste of the upcoming album.

Michele Guaitoli (vocals, piano) on the new single: “If there is one thing that makes Temperance unique on the scene, is that we just don’t care about any commercial rule. We write our music for how we like it. We don’t ask ourselves “will this work?” We don’t question our songwriting putting it in relation of the market. This attitude is the same that we have when it comes to accepting limits: we don’t accept the idea of having limits. We are here to break the rules. Why just one singer? Let’s have three. Why just a style? Let’s play many. If we want something, we fight for it even if we need to break the rules of a certain scheme. What about heavy metal? Does it have rules? Does it have a scheme? If yes, we’re here to break it.”

A drum playthrough video for “Breaking The Rules Of Heavy Metal” can be viewed below:

Check out the official music video for “Breaking The Rules Of Heavy Metal”:

Diamanti was mixed and mastered by Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Epica, Amaranthe), with the cover artwork once again created by Yann Souetre (Ayreon).

Marco Pastorino (vocals, guitar) on the new album: "With Diamanti, we managed to combine our best qualities and selected the best Temperance songs so far.  It's not our heaviest album, it's not our fastest work, but surely it's our favourite one so far! We weren't necessarily supposed to record a new album only one year after Viridian, but luckily we made it! In this album you will find our trademarks: the vocal harmonies, the catchy melodies, but also epic stuff, strong arrangements, and long tracks - I am very proud of Diamanti and I am convinced we have written a bombastic album!"

Diamanti will be available in the following formats:

- 1CD Digipak
- 2LP Gatefold Black
- 2LP Gatefold Curaçao Sea

VOLBEAT Shares Another New Song 'Becoming'

VOLBEAT Shares Another New Song 'Becoming'

Danish/American rock and rollers VOLBEAT have released a new song called "Becoming". The track is taken from the band's eighth studio album, "Servant Of The Mind", which is due on December 3 via Republic Records. The effort will be available in standard CD, deluxe 2LP vinyl (in various limited-edition variants) and a deluxe digital edition.

For "Servant Of The Mind", the band, which consists of Michael Poulsen (guitars/vocals), Jon Larsen (drums), Rob Caggiano (guitars) and Kaspar Boye Larsen (bass) took their signature heavy metal, psychobilly and punk 'n' roll sound up a notch while showcasing Poulsen's keen ability for songwriting and storytelling.

"I wrote the whole album in three months," recalled Poulsen, "I was in a good place and mood while at home, and had a captive audience of myself… There are a lot of VOLBEAT signatures in it. If you go back to the first record and compare it to where we are now, you can hear how the band has developed its style, while keeping the signature sound."

When the album was first announced in September, the band released the "Shotgun Blues" single, an anthemic track in which Poulsen explores the ghostly events he recently experienced upon moving into a new home.

"Every time you move into a house, you bring dead people with you," he explained. "Weird stuff happens when I move into a [new] house… it's very otherworldly." Watch the lyric video below.

The album also includes the "double barrel" of summer songs the band released this past June: "Wait A Minute My Girl" and "Dagen Før" (featuring Stine Bramsen), the former of which became the band's ninth number one single on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.

Other songs on the album weave intricate and fascinating tales. "The Sacred Stones" tells the story of "an earthly being who has committed himself to the dark side. He is on a mission, speaking to darker forces and fallen angels." Meanwhile, "The Devil Rages On" looks at the idea of the devil taking human form. Album opener "Temple Of Ekur" returns to the ancient themes explored in past songs such as "The Gates Of Babylon", while the epic album closer "Lasse's Birgita" explores the story of the first witch burnings to occur in Sweden in 1471.

"Servant Of The Mind" standard edition track listing:

01. Temple Of Ekur

02. Wait A Minute My Girl

03. The Sacred Stones

04. Shotgun Blues

05. The Devil Rages On

06. Say No More

07. Heaven's Descent

08. Dagen Før (feat. Stine Bramsen)

09. The Passenger

10. Step Into Light

11. Becoming

12. Mindlock

13. Lasse's Birgitta

Deluxe 2 CD/2 LP and digital deluxe bonus tracks:

14. Return To None (WOLFBRIGADE cover)

15. Domino (THE CRAMPS/ROY ORBISON cover)

16. Shotgun Blues (feat. Dave Matrise from JUNGLE ROT)

17. Dagen Før (Michael Vox Version)

Vinyl variants (North America)

* Translucent Rust 2 LP – Volbeat.dk exclusive, limited to 550

* Transparent Yellow 2 LP – Revolver magazine exclusive, limited to 400

Vinyl variants (Europe)

* Standard 180g black vinyl 2 LP

* Danish Red and White 2 LP – only available in Denmark, limited to 2,000

Regarding the musical direction of the new VOLBEAT album and how the rest of it compares to the recently released songs "Wait A Minute My Girl" and "Dagen Før", Michael told Germany's Rock Antenne: "It's the most heavy VOLBEAT record to date. The two singles that are out now — I'm very, very proud of them; they're pure rock songs — but they don't really represent the rest of the material. There's a good reason why we released those two songs now. It's summer. People need some light. They need some positive energy. They need good vibrations, good mood. And I think those two songs have all those kind of things."

Asked if the new VOLBEAT songs are as heavy as "Evelyn", which originally appeared on the band's 2010 album "Beyond Hell/Above Heaven", Michael said: "There's definitely stuff that's just as heavy as 'Evelyn' — no doubt about it. I wouldn't say much more than that. But there's definitely stuff that's just as heavy as 'Evelyn'. And there's stuff that'll bring you back to old BLACK SABBATH with Ronnie James Dio, early METALLICA, even some old DEATH inspiration, old BOLT THROWER inspiration. So some of those classic songs from old-school heavy bands. For sure, there's definitely stuff that sounds like early CANDLEMASS. So, there's gonna be a lot of thunder and lightning for the rest of the material."

VOLBEAT is two decades deep into a career that has found them sharing stages with genre legends like BLACK SABBATH, METALLICA, MOTÖRHEAD, SLIPKNOT, MEGADETH, ANTHRAX and more. They have racked up nearly three billion cumulative streams over the course of their career, notched a "Best Metal Performance" Grammy nomination for "Room 24" (featuring King Diamond) from 2014's acclaimed (and gold-selling) "Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies", and have grabbed multiple Danish Music Awards. Not ones to rest on their laurels, their forthcoming album "Servant Of The Mind", which was written and recorded during the shutdown and quarantine necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic, is introspective but pulls no punches and is no less raucous or driving than their previous efforts.

Since forming in 2001, VOLBEAT has gone from the clubs of Copenhagen to headlining stages around the world, including the famed Telia Parken stadium in Denmark (becoming the only domestic artist to ever sell out the venue). Over the course of seven record-breaking albums the band has picked up number one songs (including nine No. 1s on the U.S. Mainstream Rock chart and counting, the most of any band based outside of North America), multi-platinum certifications, awards and accolades all over the planet. Their latest album, "Rewind, Replay, Rebound", was released in August 2019 and has spawned the hit singles "Last Day Under The Sun", "Die To Live" (featuring Neil Fallon) and "Leviathan". A live album featuring songs recorded during the subsequent world tour, "Rewind, Replay, Rebound: Live In Deutschland", was released digitally in November 2020. Most recently, they contributed a cover of "Don't Tread On Me" to "The Metallica Blacklist", with all proceeds from the track benefiting METALLICA's All Within My Hands foundation and the Børne Cancer Fonden of Denmark.

Former STREAM OF PASSION Vocalist MARCELA BOVIO Confirmed For New STAR ONE Album; Video Teaser Available

Former STREAM OF PASSION Vocalist MARCELA BOVIO Confirmed For New STAR ONE Album; Video Teaser Available

Arjen Lucassen (Ayreon) is back with a new Star One album, titled Revel In Time. The album comes more than 10 years since the previous release and is due out on February 18 via InsideOutMusic.

The album will be available for pre-order on December 17, and it will come as Ltd. 2CD Digipak, Ltd. Deluxe 3CD+Blu-Ray Artbook (incl. a poster of the cover artwork), and as 180g Gatefold 2LP (incl. the album on CD & an LP-Booklet).

CD2 features alternate versions of the same songs as CD1, but with different vocalists. Also available will be a 5.1 mix, a high-res audio version, and an exclusive, hour-long Behind The Scenes video, on the Blu-ray included in the Artbook.

For this Star One release, Arjen has decided to use a different singer for each song, and those singers as well as the instrumentalists are slowly being revealed on Arjen’s Facebook page.

Arjen: "Marcela Bovio sings the track 'Fate Of Man' on CD2, and sings all the backing vocals together with Irene Jansen on the new Star One album, Revel In Time. Check out this video to hear a part of the song and don’t miss her charming video message! Such a wonderful and talented lady."

Arjen explains the decision to return with a new Star One album: “Ayreon is like the mothership for all my music. It contains all the different musical styles that I like to listen to and that I love to create. But I’m always looking for challenges and trying to create something new and original as well. Working within a set of constraints forces you to do that, so sometimes I like to limit myself and focus on just one style. For example, with Star One I focus on the metal-side of Ayreon. That means you won’t hear the exuberantly liberal use of acoustic instruments that are so often featured on Ayreon albums, like violin, woodwinds, cello, horns, dulcimer, mandolin, etc.”

The artwork was designed by Ayreon artist Jef Bertels, Arjen explains: “As always, Jef’s painting is wondrously labyrinthine; I can sit in front of it for hours and discover new details all the time. Now you might be thinking “Hey, isn’t Jef Bertels the designated artist for Ayreon, but not for Star One?” Of course I thought about that myself. But when I realized how much I liked this album I felt that it deserved a painting of its own and a special place alongside Jef’s other front-cover masterpieces. And anyway, I’ve been breaking rules ever since the very beginning of Ayreon. So… there you have it!”

QUIET RIOT: Original Mask From 'Metal Health' Album Cover To Be Auctioned

QUIET RIOT: Original Mask From 'Metal Health' Album Cover To Be Auctioned

Julien's Auctions has announced the preeminent headliners of "Icons & Idols: Rock 'N' Roll", the world-record breaking auction house to the stars' annual music event of the season on Friday, November 19 and Saturday, November 20, 2021 live in Hard Rock Cafe New York and online at juliensauctions.com. Nearly 1,000 sensational artifacts and memorabilia owned and used by some of the world's legendary music artists of all time, including THE BEATLES, GUNS N' ROSES, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Robert Plant, Elvis Presley, Trent Reznor, Keith Richards, Eddie Van Halen, U2, and more will be offered.

Hard rock and metal fans will bang their heads to the appearances of the original artwork for the cover of the 1983 QUIET RIOT album "Metal Health" hand-painted by Stan Watts ($20,000 - 40,000), and the original metal "asylum" mask that Watts wore to create the iconic image ($8,000 - 10,000).

Items from the world's most dangerous band, GUNS N' ROSES, will also rock the auction stage including the 1989 MTV VMA Moonman presented to the band for "Best Heavy Metal Video" for "Sweet Child O' Mine" ($10,000 - $20,000), a satin printed GUNS N' ROSES after show pass signed by the band members, black Tama kick drum skins stage used by Steven Adler during GN'R's "Appetite For Destruction" 1988 tour and signed by the band and more.

One of the most epic rock classics ever recorded by one of rock's seminal bands, "Kashmir" is LED ZEPPELIN's sonic masterpiece, along with "Stairway To Heaven" and "Whole Lotta Love". Handwritten lyrics of the song by lead singer Robert Plant on a sheet of The Whitehall Hotel letterhead stationery will be offered with an estimate of $200,000 - $300,000. The lyrics are a rendition for a live performance of the song with some differences from the recorded version released on their 1976 album "Pink Graffiti".

Another rock iconoclast and now auction legend whose original artwork and handwritten ephemera are coveted as much as his instruments and memorabilia is one of rock and roll's most signature artists of all time: Kurt Cobain. An illustration drawn in ballpoint pen on a sheet of notebook paper by the NIRVANA frontman depicting many faces and eyes and a flower signed by Cobain in the bottom right corner as "Kurdt Kobain" will be on offer. The drawing (estimate: $10,000 - $20,000) was previously on display at the Museum Of Pop Culture "Nirvana: Taking Punk To The Masses" exhibit in Seattle.

Other handwritten and drawn items include (each estimate: $4,000 - $6,000): a white tablecloth with a handwritten setlist of NIRVANA songs, "Teen Spirit", "About A Girl" and "Come As You Are" and signed by Kurt Cobain, Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and others; a handwritten setlist by Kurt Cobain on Sheffield University Students' Union stationery, where the band performed the night before and a ticket to a NIRVANA performance at Calton Studios in Edinburgh, Scotland, on December 29, 1991; and a handwritten and signed setlist by Kurt Cobain from a concert at the East Ballroom of the University of Washington in Seattle on January 6, 1990 that includes the songs "Polly" and "Love Buzz".

Other NIRVANA/Kurt Cobain items up for bid include "Illiteracy Will Prevail" from FECAL MATTER — the 1985 punk rock band formed by Kurt Cobain, Dale Drover (of the MELVINS) and drummer Greg Hokanson. The demo project on cassette features 17 unreleased tracks with notable demos that were later re-recorded and released under NIRVANA, including the song "Downer" which was later released on NIRVANA's album "Bleach" (estimate: $3,000 - $5,000), a color photograph of Cobain at 15 years old in a snowy winter background, a signed NIRVANA concert ticket, signed denim vest and jacket and more.

Julien's Auctions has shattered original estimates and broken world records with the sale of Kurt Cobain's memorabilia and artwork, including: Cobain's cardigan worn on "MTV Unplugged In New York" (sold for a record $334,000), his "In Utero" tour Fender Mustang guitar (sold for $340,000), his cardigan worn on his last photoshoot (sold for $75,000), a NIRVANA paper plate setlist written in Cobain's handwriting which sold for a record $22,400; a self-portrait caricature drawing by Cobain of himself playing guitar signed "Kurdt Kobain Rock Star" (sold for over $281,000) and the Guinness Book Of World Record sale of Cobain's "MTV Unplugged" 1959 Martin D-18E acoustic-electric guitar, which sold for $6 million making it the world's most expensive guitar ever sold at auction.

Other exceptional highlights include: Keith Richards's red with gold embroidery and rhinestone cropped jacket worn on the "Get Yer Yas-Yas Out" album, as well as on stage during the infamous Altamont concert, where an audience member was stabbed to death by the Hell's Angels, and was featured in the Maysles Brothers documentary film "Gimme Shelter" ($8,000 - $12,000); U2 guitarist Edge's concert used Gibson Les Paul Standard electric guitar ($50,000 - $70,000); Jim Croce's Martin D-21 guitar ($40,000 - $60,000); an EVH Fender "Frankenstrat" guitar stage played by Eddie Van Halen signed by him and his brother Alex Van Halen, consisting of a guitar strap attached to screw eyes, bicycle reflectors on the back used to reflect the stage lights, five VAN HALEN 2012 guitar picks taped on the body and an image of Eddie printed on metal (the guitar was gifted to Kevan Hill, a childhood friend and first band mate of Eddie and Alex Van Halen in their first band, BROKEN COMBS, in 1964) ($30,000 - $50,000); a custom-made black 2007 Gretsch drum kit played by drummer Taylor Hawkins for FOO FIGHTERS accompanied by two FOO FIGHTERS Wembley Stadium fleece zip up sweaters, a backstage pass, two guitar picks and a pillow ($40,000 - $60,000).

"Julien's Auctions is honored to present this extraordinary collection of historic and important music relics used by the pantheon of rock gods and pop music icons from the 20th century and 21st century at our annual two-day music event of the year," said Darren Julien, president/chief executive officer of Julien's Auctions. "The breadth and scope of these museum worthy collectibles represent not only the pinnacle of these legendary figures' careers and their mythic performances but the impact of their artistry and the lives they lived on and off the stage that changed not only music but the world."

Former ICED EARTH Members MATT BARLOW And FREDDIE VIDALES To Release Third ASHES OF ARES Album

Former ICED EARTH Members MATT BARLOW And FREDDIE VIDALES To Release Third ASHES OF ARES Album

ASHES OF ARES, the band featuring former ICED EARTH members Matt Barlow and Freddie Vidales, will release its third studio album, "Emperors And Fools", on January 21, 2022 via ROAR! Rock Of Angels.

Nine years after forming ASHES OF ARES, Barlow and Vidales return with an LP that sees the duo take the darkness and aggression from their previous effort, "Well Of Souls", to a higher echelon. The writing process began almost immediately after "Well Of Souls" was released. As usual, it was a true collaborative effort between the two, with ideas originating from one or the other, then evolving and being refined to what is presented on "Emperors And Fools". The album flow is designed to keep the listeners on edge while bringing them from fast, heavy, pounding anthems to somber, melancholic, emotional pieces. The album ends with the eleven-minute long epic "Monster's Lament" which features the long-imagined joining of forces between Barlow and another former ICED EARTH singer, Tim "Ripper" Owens.

"Emperors And Fools" will be released as a digipak CD, limited turquoise/black splatter vinyl (300 copies worldwide), limited red/black splatter vinyl (300 copies worldwide) and digital streaming and download format.

"Emperors And Fools" was produced by ASHES OF ARES, and mixed and mastered by Byron Filson at Villain Recording in Phoenix, Arizona. The cover artwork was created by Kamil Pietruczynik.

Track listing:

01. A City In Decay (intro)

02. I Am The Night

03. Our Last Sunrise

04. Primed

05. Where God Fears To Go

06. Emperors And Fools

07. By My Blade

08. What Tomorrow Will Bring

09. The Iron Throne

10. Gone

11. Throne Of Iniquity (CD-exclusive track)

12. Monster's Lament

ASHES OF ARES is:

Matt Barlow - Vocals

Freddie Vidales - Guitars, Bass

Guests:

* Drums on all tracks by Van Williams

* Keyboard intro composed by Jonah Weingarten

* First solo "The Iron Throne" by Wiley Arnett of SACRED REICH

* Second solo "The Iron Throne" by Charlie Mark

* Second solo "Monster's Lament" by Bill Hudson

* Guest vocals "Monster's Lament" by Tim "Ripper" Owens

* Keyboards "Monster's Lament" by Brian Trainor

Last December ASHES OF ARES released the 12-inch black vinyl EP, "Throne Of Iniquity". Limited to 300 copies, the EP contained one new ASHES OF ARES song, "Throne Of Iniquity", as well as two cover tracks, CHICAGO's "25 Or 6 To 4" and KANSAS's "Dust In The Wind".

ASHES OF ARES's second album, "Well Of Souls", came out in November 2018 via ROAR! Rock Of Angels. It was the follow-up to ASHES OF ARES's self-titled debut album, which was released in September 2013 via Nuclear Blast.

Three years ago, Barlow told "The Classic Metal Show" about ASHES OF ARES: "Sometimes it's hard to escape the comparisons [to ICED EARTH], because my voice is still my voice no matter what, and I'm still gonna deliver things emotionally like I have before, so people are always gonna draw comparisons with ICED EARTH, and that's fine; I'm completely cool with that. I'm proud of my time in ICED EARTH, proud of everything that I've done with them, proud of them right now, going on and kicking ass. So I don't have any problem with that whatsoever — the comparisons. But that being said, I want ASHES to have its own identity as well. I think, again, as my writing partner, Freddie deserves that — he deserves to have his own identity in ASHES — and I think that's really important; that's what we're striving to do. And also, hey, man, there's already an ICED EARTH out there; they're touring and they're kicking ass, as I stated before. Why would I wanna do ICED EARTH stuff?"

MÖTLEY CRÜE To Release 'The Dirt: Declassified' Graphic Novel

MÖTLEY CRÜE To Release 'The Dirt: Declassified' Graphic Novel

MÖTLEY CRÜE may be responsible for blazing a path of hard rock and chaos for the past 40 years, netting seven platinum and multi-platinum albums alongside global album sales exceeding 100 million. But this spring, Vince Neil, Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee and Mick Mars come in from the cold to reveal their greatest accomplishment of all: protecting the world at all costs as covert government agents.

Uniting with Z2 Comics, the premier publisher of music-based graphic novels, "Mötley Crüe's The Dirt: Declassified" unearths the classified exploits of these rock pioneers as they navigated an international web of moles, sleepers, spooks, and plants. Building from the New York Times bestselling book and subsequent Netflix movie "The Dirt", Leah Moore ("Morrison Hotel") documents the quartet's twisting journey with interior art from John K. Snyder III ("Suicide Squad", "Grendel") and J.M. Beroy ("Deadman", "Star Trek"). Armitano ("Batman Eternal") joins with dossier art alongside cover artist Dan Panosian ("Canary", "Slots").

"Playing arenas overflowing with tens of thousands of fans was just a front for our true mission," MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx explains. "The reality is that we were infiltrating [redacted] in a globe-hopping sprint to [redacted]. But that doesn't even include the disaster at [redacted] or near fatal heist in [redacted]. We have a lot to say and it's time the people knew."

"MÖTLEY CRÜE remains the one group whose live show in the '80s felt truly dangerous. Now that I know the truth about the band, it's obvious why," Z2 senior editor Rantz Hoseley says. "We're proud to have gained the trust of these live wires to tell the secrets they've been forced to cover up for decades… we guarantee you aren't ready for the madness and mayhem in this graphic novel."

"Mötley Crüe's The Dirt: Declassified" will debut exclusively on Z2's webstore in April 2022, available in the following bundles:

- Standard Edition Softcover: $24.99

- Standard Edition Hardcover: $39.99

- Retail Exclusive Hardcover: $39.99

- Deluxe Edition Oversized Hardcover: $99.99

EVANESCENCE Unveils 'The Revolution Of Cassandra' As Second Book In Graphic Anthology Series

EVANESCENCE Unveils 'The Revolution Of Cassandra' As Second Book In Graphic Anthology Series

EVANESCENCE and Incendium have announced the second book in EVANESCENCE's "Echoes From The Void" Graphic anthology series, "The Revolution Of Cassandra", now on sale through Incendium's OPUS imprint of music-driven books. Written by film director Eric D. Howell, the second book in EVANESCENCE's fantasy series connects Howell's original story to the story behind EVANESCENCE's hit single "Use My Voice" from their 2021 album "The Bitter Truth". Howell directed the inspiring, pandemic-shot music video, which has gone on to garner millions of views and depicts a nation rallying for change. Now EVANESCENCE singer Amy Lee and Howell have teamed up together to invite readers into the world of "The Revolution Of Cassandra", an action-adventure that speaks to the power of love and truth and standing up for your beliefs.

In "The Revolution Of Cassandra", a liberal, astrology-loving humanitarian is caught in the crossfire of a raging civil war and must save her sister from the firing squad of a brutal dictator. She beseeches help from a gun smuggler, and inadvertently starts her own revolution. Cassandra stands up to be a light in the face of a cynical, unforgiving, and brutal world, pulling everything she believes into question. Racing through minefields, above the jungle canopy, and going head-to-head with an army, Cassandra has the stars and moon on her side — or so she believes. The story is created by Howell, with cover art by Esau Escorza and Sebastian Cheng, and interior art by a rock-star cast of graphic artists. After the second issue of "Echoes From The Void" debuts in time for the holidays, Howell will subsequently be releasing his complete graphic novel in 2022, with more details to follow.

Lee said: "A few years back, my friend and video director Eric Howell sent me a screenplay he was writing called 'The Revolution Of Cassandra'. This time, instead of a film, he wanted to make it into a graphic novel. As I read it, I kept hearing this song I'd been working on, 'Use My Voice', over and over in my head, because it felt like the song and Cassandra lived in the same world. The power of love, and truth, and sisterhood, standing up to the broken machine. Hanging on to the belief that humanity is worth fighting for. Eric later directed the 'Use My Voice' music video, which was truly a feat to accomplish during the height of the pandemic. Now it's our turn to shine the light on to 'The Revolution Of Cassandra', the piece of art that helped fuel and inspire 'Use My Voice'. This book in our 'Echoes From The Void' series will be completely dedicated to both projects, connecting the song and story just as Eric and I feel they were meant to be."

Howell added: "'The Revolution Of Cassandra' is a story about a badass woman standing up for her beliefs in a cynical and hostile world. As one of my early readers, I asked Amy to write the forward for the graphic novel if she connected with it in any way. She had a strong response to the material and immediately sent me the sketch of a song she'd been working on. She really identified with a central idea in the story of ‘being for something, not against everything.' The song and the story had this thematic echo as if we were each grabbing onto the same muse in the same moment — frankly, it was a bit of magic.”

Llexi Leon, CEO of Incendium, said: "'Use My Voice' is such a powerful anthem, and when Amy explained the connection to Eric's novel, I knew we had to showcase it as part of the anthology. 'The Revolution Of Cassandra' is a beautifully executed and compelling saga, I'm delighted to have the opportunity to offer this exclusive prologue in print for the first time."

"Echoes From The Void" is a fantasy graphic anthology series, comprised of 48-page deluxe comic books, each issue featuring story adaptations from the EVANESCENCE music catalog. The short stories are created by an all-star cast of graphic artists, animators, illustrators, fine artists, screenwriters, novelists, and more. Combining Lee's love of visual arts, fantasy illustration, and graphic novels with the narrative power of EVANESCENCE's songwriting, and the unique atmosphere of their music, the series is being developed in close collaboration with Amy as she co-edits the art and stories, overseeing creative direction throughout.

"Echoes From The Void" begins as a five-issue series, presented in a variety of visual styles and mediums. The first issue, inspired by the songs "Better Without You" and "Wasted On You", written by Carrie Lee South and Blake Northcott and illustrated by an incredible team of artists, sold out of its initial run, but a second print variant edition is now available through Incendium's web site, alongside exclusive physical merchandise and digital collectibles inspired by the series.

The first print edition of each issue will be released as a prestige format limited-edition collectible comic book, with cardstock covers, specialty foil treatments, glossy pages, and individual numbering. Each first printing will be limited to 3,000 copies priced at $18.95, and available to order from this location. The second issue is available to order now and ships December 2021.

The cover art from "Echoes From The Void" will also be made available to purchase through a series of archival fine art prints, each an individually numbered 500-piece collection.

Originally released in 2006, "The Fall Of Ideals" launched a new era for ALL THAT REMAINS — finding the band moving away from the death metal of their first two albums (2002's "Behind Silence And Solitude" and 2004's "This Darkened Heart") and settling into the melodic metalcore that defined their career. "The Fall Of Ideals" also introduced fans to the band's longtime bassist Jeanne Sagan and marked their only album to feature drummer Shannon Lucas. The newcomers joined founding members Phil Labonte (vocals) and Oli Herbert (lead guitars), as well as rhythm guitarist Mike Martin.

In the studio, the Massachusetts quintet partnered with two prominent metal artists: KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's Adam Dutkiewicz, who served as producer, and SOILWORK's Peter Wichers, who engineered the sessions. The dynamic, 11-song set found the musicians pushing their sonic boundaries, while Labonte showcased his broad vocal range — from epic, extended screams and in-your-face growls to emotive choruses. The album spawned a variety of enduring favorites, including the hard-driving "This Calling", which featured in the soundtracks to "Saw III" and "Masters Of Horror II", as well as singles "The Air That I Breathe" and "Not Alone". Other highlights included the guitar-forward "Whispers (I Hear You)" and the dramatic "Six", which appeared in "Guitar Hero II".

Upon its release in the summer of 2006, "The Fall Of Ideals" was embraced by fans, becoming the band's first album to break the Billboard 200 (peaking at No. 75) and eventually selling more than 450,000 units. The album also caught the attention of critics. Pop Matters hailed, "ALL THAT REMAINS has made the kind of stylistic leap that most bands can only wish they could pull off… 'The Fall Of Ideals' [is] invigorating from start to finish, and could very well be the metalcore album of the year." BLABBERMOUTH.NET praised, "ALL THAT REMAINS effortlessly blends thrashy twin guitar fireworks and Phil Labonte's raging vocals with soaring clean vocals and overall tunefulness…There is no denying that those guys play their asses off here and the result is immensely gratifying." Lambgoat simply declared, "The entire band executes the songs perfectly," adding that "the production…is full and crisp."

"We're so thankful to everyone who has kept this disc in their hearts for the past 15 years," says Labonte. "We are proud to celebrate the reissue and can't wait to tell you about all the other cool things we have in store."

In the 15 years since "The Fall Of Ideals", ALL THAT REMAINS have built an undeniable legacy as one of this century's most consistent purveyors of heavy music with a bulletproof canon of arena-worthy anthems. Currently consisting of Labonte and Martin, as well as drummer Jason Costa, and lead guitarist Jason Richardson, the band continues to defy the odds of its genre. To date, they have sold more than a million albums worldwide, earning five consecutive Top 10 debuts on the Billboard Top Rock Albums chart, and boasting more than 1.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify — an unprecedented feat for any metal band. In 2018, ALL THAT REMAINS released their widely acclaimed ninth studio album, "Victim Of The New Disease".

OZZY OSBOURNE's 'Diary Of A Madman' 40th-Anniversary Expanded Digital Edition Due In November

OZZY OSBOURNE's 'Diary Of A Madman' 40th-Anniversary Expanded Digital Edition Due In November

Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee and Grammy-winning singer and songwriter Ozzy Osbourne will celebrate the 40th anniversary of his 1981 album "Diary Of A Madman" with an updated digital release that includes a new track: a live version of his Mainstream Rock Top 5 hit "Flying High Again". At the same time comes news of an exciting collaboration with Dogtown, available this Friday.

The Ozzy x Dogtown collection comes as an homage to Ozzy's music being the soundtrack to skateboarding for more than 40 years. The collaboration features skateboard decks and clothing with art by Sean Cliver on 200 limited-edition custom paint "Midnight Fade" skateboard decks with a silver metal flake dusting designed by Jim "Red Dog" Muir, manufactured by Paul Schmitt at PS Stix, and hand silk screened by Chicken at Screaming Squeegees on the iconic '80s Dogtown Stonefish shape. In addition, look for a limited run of T-shirts and pullover hoodies with the Ozzy x Dogtown graphic to also be released. All items are available this Friday (October 29) at 12:00 noon (PT). Click here to order or for more information.

The "Diary Of A Madman" special digital reissue will be available November 5 via all digital platforms. The album is Ozzy's second studio release and the last album to feature 2021 Rock And Roll Hall Of Famer guitarist Randy Rhoads. The multi-platinum release (with five million albums sold worldwide) included the No. 2 Mainstream Rock track "Flying High Again". The album was listed at No. 15 on Rolling Stone's 2017 list of "100 Greatest Metal Albums Of All Time." Kory Grow noted, "A year after proving he was still a vital musical force on his first post–BLACK SABBATH solo LP, 1980's 'Blizzard Of Ozz', Ozzy Osbourne demonstrated it wasn't a one-time fluke with an album of poppy and gothic anthems like 'Flying High Again' and the almost classical closing title track. Guitarist Randy Rhoads, who died in a plane crash while touring for 'Diary' in 1982, had already proven himself a virtuoso on 'Blizzard'; here, he worked even harder to find the rare nexus between showboat chops and clever songwriting..."
