SARAH JEZEBEL DEVA To Release Re-Recorded Version "A Sign Of Sublime" Featuring Former CRADLE OF FILTH Members In NovemberVocalist Sarah Jezebel Deva, who was with Cradle Of Filth for 14 years before leaving the band in 2009, revealed back in June tha she was re-recording two tracks from her 2010 solo album, A Sign Of Sublime. She issued the following update at the time:
"I / we have decided to re record two tracks from A Sign Of Sublime. I personally do not take that choice lightly. I am not sure I want to revisit that part of my life, however, whilst going through my old emails on my old Mac, I found an email from 'said person' that he only owns the master copy of the album, I am free to do what I wish with this album.
The biggest problem I, Max (the drummer of Mendeed) and Ken the guitar player had was the sound because of the over editing and general 'not giving a s**t' by the person who recorded it, so my mate Dan, who was mixing it didn't stand a chance and nor did we. I had a choice: refuse to let the album get released and get threatened and bullied, or release it and have our names trashed and just hope that anyone listening to the metal tracks was deaf.

Rage released their new album, Resurrection Day on September 17. The album features a revamped lineup, with two guitar players.
After last year’s departure of guitarist Marcos Rodriguez, Stefan Weber (ex-Axxis) was enlisted, followed just a few weeks later by Jean Bormann (Angel Inc, Rage & Ruins). The fourth band member is drummer Vassilios “Lucky” Maniatopoulos, who has been with Rage since 2015. This lineup was introduced to the public for the first time on the song “The Price Of War 2.0”, a re-recording of the same-named song from their album Black in Mind from 1995.
On Resurrection Day, the band’s first full-length effort with the new members, Rage continues their victorious path, and rewards the long-time followers with a very inspired collection of songs. From the thrashy vibes of “Virginity” and “Extinction Overkill”, to the melodic overtones of the title track and “Mind Control”, there’s something here for fans of every era of the band. Much like its predecessor Wings Of Rage, there are definitively nods to their past, but they relentlessly forge ahead with a renewed sense of energy and excitement.
Sonic Perspectives interviewer Rodrigo Altaf sat down with Rage mastermind, Peavy Wagner, to discuss how the new lineup was put together, the writing process of the new album, touring plans and much more.
Resurrection Day can be ordered here.

NORTHTALE Release New Single “Only Human”; Preorders For Eternal Flame LiveIn August 2019, power metal newcomers Northtale released their successful first album Welcome To Paradise. After their debut show at Sabaton Open Air in Sweden followed by shows in Japan, the band underwent a lineup change and after months of auditions, the new vocalist, Guilherme Hirose from Sao Paolo, Brazil was chosen.
Now, after releasing several re-recorded songs from Welcome To Paradise with Guilherme on vocals, the band finally announces their new album, Eternal Flame, which is set to be released on November 12 via Nuclear Blast. Produced by Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69, Unisonic), the album features 12 brand new tracks and a whole range of new influences, from thrash metal, classical citations, and Brazilian traditional music, all fused into Northtale's own brand of melodic power metal.

Today, the band unveil the first single "'Only Human" - a fast-paced, anthemic tune that comes with a lyric video.
Guitarist Bill Hudson comments: "The time has come! After almost two years of hard work, a lineup change, and a global pandemic, we’re very happy to tell you we’re releasing our new album, Eternal Flame.
“Our friends at Nuclear Blast have picked 'Only Human' as the first single. A short, straight-to-the-point Power Metal track packed with every element that makes up our music. Sonically, it’ll sound very familiar to the fans. Lyrically, it talks about the moment we’re living in, where power structures are starting to crumble and people are rising up to what they believe in, in search of evolution. But we also make mistakes, and that’s exactly what makes us human. We learn by trial and error and become wiser that way. I know it sounds cliché, but this album is very superior to our debut. Also, I got some of my amazing friends to guest on it! I simply cannot wait to hear everyone’s reaction.
“For now, enjoy 'Only Human' and we're looking forward to meeting everyone this winter in Europe with Unleash The Archers and Striker."
Eternal Flame features guest appearances from legendary icon Kai Hansen (Helloween/Gamma Ray), his son Tim Kanoa Hansen (Induction), Jonas Heidgert (Dragonland), and Mary Zimmer (Helion Prime). The album artwork was created by Gustavo Sazes (Machine Head, Amaranthe, Kamelot) Find preorders

GENE SIMMONS Sells Beverly Hills Mansion For $16 MillionAccording to TMZ, KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons has sold Los Angeles mansion for $16 million.
Last fall, Simmons put the Beverly Hills house on the market for $22 million. He later relisted it for $25 million after it never sold and he reportedly invested a lot of money in making improvements.
Gene bought the property back in October 1986 for $1,337,500.
This past May, Simmons bought a new home just outside Las Vegas, Nevada for $8.2 million.
Simmons has been very vocal about his desire to leave California for some time due to wanting a quieter lifestyle and to get away from being listed on celebrity maps or having to deal with Beverly Hills tour buses. He also said that part of the reason he and his wife listed the two-acre property in Benedict Canyon because the home had become too big for the both of them since their children had grown up.
"It's a big property, and the kids were literally raised here," he said about the Beverly Hills house. "Now they've moved on, and they both have their own homes next to each other in the Hollywood Hills. They borrow a cup of sugar and all that. They love each other and support each other like the best kids you could imagine."
"They've got their own lives, and now we've got this big house. And if I want to talk to [my wife] Shannon, I've got to hit an intercom because she's at the other end of the house," he continued. "It's happy and it's also sad. When you're a kid and you live at home, you love your mom and dad, but at some point you've got to move out. It's sad because you're moving from home, but you're also looking forward to the future, and we really hope the next family that lives here is going to get as much joy as we have from this place."
Gene and Shannon were married in 2011 after dating since 1975. They have two children, Nick and Sophie.
Gene, Shannon and their kids all appeared on the reality TV series "Gene Simmons Family Jewels" from 2006 until 2012. 8

Finnish hard rockers LORDI releasing new videoclip and 2-track single “Abracadaver”What does one think of first when hearing the word “Abracadaver”? Maybe a witch damned for all eternity to clean the deserts of cadavers? You will know after hearing this track - it certainly is a thrash metal influenced but still unmistakably „Lordi-sounding“ masterpiece!
The video for “Abracadaver” is available below.
LORDI doing Thrash Metal? After 2020’s KILLECTION already featured a song ABRACADAVER is a whole album full of 90’s Speed and Thrash metal inspired songs. Heavy riffs are guaranteed to make every fan of Sepultura, Kreator or Anthrax bang their head to the fast-paced rhythm.
Certainly an album full of songs guaranteed to create giant moshpits at every concert they are performed at. Grab a beer and put on your finest battle jacket when giving ABRACADAVER a spin! Today 2 tracks – “Abracadaver” and “Beast Of Both Worlds” – are heralding this phenomenal album, which will be released digitally on December 10th.
The rock/heavy metal band, LORDI, was officially founded in 1992 by singer, songwriter and designer, Mr. Lordi. The band is deeply rooted in Finland and originally comes from Rovaniemi in Northern Lapland. In 2006, the band achieved their international breakthrough with their participation in the Eurovision Song Contest ("Hard Rock Hallelujah"). So far, so good.
But what if this had only been our own little wretched reality so far and in actuality, things are quite different? What if LORDI have actually been active since the early 70s and unleashing one hit after another onto humanity since then?
This is the idea behind "Killection", the last studio album. It's a compilation album that imagines that LORDI has existed since the early 70's. It delivers all the hit singles from the different decades and as they would have sounded if LORDI had made music at that time. The accompanying back catalogue will finally appear in the form of "Lordiversity" – two years after its Best Of and simply from beyond time and space.
Mr. Lordi explains: “In the week of March 2020, after our tour had to be cancelled due to Corona, I thought that I must use the extra time that was available to me. It quickly became clear that the time was perfect to start planning another album, even though “Killection” wasn't even three months old at the time. But then I realised that there couldn't be anything more boring than making another regular LORDI album. I really enjoyed writing, recording and producing the different styles for “Killection”, but the idea of simply composing a second part of it also struck me as extremely boring. And since "Killection" is a fictional album based on a previously non-existent, fictional back catalogue of music, I had an idea: The only thing that could top "Killection" would be to record and publish the back catalogue. "
So Said. So Done. "Skeletric Dinosaur", "Superflytrap", "The Masterbeast", "Abusement Park", "Humanimals", "Abracadaver" and "Spooky Sextravaganza Spectacular" will all be released on November 26th as physical products (7-CD Box or 7-LP Box in various colours). The complete work is called “Lordiversity”. Monster Songs galore for the dark nights of the year. 4

IN THIS MOMENT And BLACK VEIL BRIDES Shows Postponed After 'Several Members' Test Positive For COVID-19The IN THIS MOMENT, BLACK VEIL BRIDES and DED shows scheduled for today, September 24 in Lubbock, Texas at The Pavilion and Saturday, September 25 at in Oklahoma City at The Criterion have been postponed due to several members of bands on tour testing positive for COVID-19. The tour plans to pick back up in Denver on Monday, September 27 in Denver.
If you have tickets to either of these shows, please stand by for more information. The entire touring party is remaining in isolation out of an abundance of caution until the tour resumes on Monday.
BLACK VEIL BRIDES said in a statement: "We will be performing a special acoustic storytellers set without [drummer] CC [Christian Coma] when the tour resumes in Denver on Monday, September 27th and throughout next week. The change is due to CC testing positive for COVID-19. The rest of the BLACK VEIL BRIDES band and crew have tested negative multiple times and are completely healthy. The entire BVB touring party is remaining in isolation out of an abundance of caution until the tour resumes on Monday. The current plan is to move forward with the acoustic performances and VIP Meet & Greets until such time that CC can rejoin the tour and return to the full production live shows."
A number of hard rock and heavy metal artists have canceled shows or whole tours as the concert industry is rethinking its approach to live shows while the delta variant of the coronavirus is spreading nationwide.
Last month, Live Nation Entertainment, one of the country's largest concert and ticketing companies, announced that it will require all artists and concertgoers to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test starting in early October.
Live Nation's announcement came one day after AEG Presents said that it will be requiring proof of vaccination for entry into its owned and operated clubs, theaters and festivals. The decision was made on the heels of the dramatic surge in COVID-19 cases as the delta variant spreads throughout the United States.
While vaccines are exceptionally effective in preventing death and severe illness from the coronavirus and its known variants, some are far from foolproof in preventing infection altogether.
Most of the people with so-called "breakthrough" infections are asymptomatic.
According to Centers For Disease Control And Prevention (CDC), large-scale clinical studies found that COVID-19 vaccination prevented most people from getting COVID-19. Research also provides growing evidence that mRNA COVID-19 vaccines (Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna) offer similar protection in real-world conditions. While these vaccines are effective, no vaccine prevents illness 100% of the time. For any vaccine, there are breakthrough cases. 1

Founding STATUS QUO Bassist ALAN LANCASTER Dead At 72Former STATUS QUO bassist Alan Lancaster has died after a battle with multiple sclerosis. He was 72 years old.
The news was broken by Australian broadcaster Craig Bennett, who wrote on Facebook: "At the request of his loving and deeply cherished family, I am heartbroken to announce the passing of Alan Lancaster, British born music royalty, guitar God and founding member of iconic band, STATUS QUO.
"Alan Lancaster passed away this morning at his Sydney home, surrounded by family. Alan had been dealing with Multiple Sclerosis. He was 72.
"STATUS QUO began Rockin' All Over The World in 1967. The legendary band amassed decades of hit songs, including 'Down Down' and 'Whatever You Want'. Alan married his beautiful wife Dayle Lancaster in 1978. They met when Alan and STATUS QUO, along with SLADE and LINDISFARNE, toured Australia in 1973.
"Alan, who was a dear and special friend, is survived by Dayle, his children Alan Jr, Toni and David, plus five grandchildren. Dayle said this morning that Alan loved his life in Australia. His mother and father, plus his brother and sister also moved to Australia. Dayle said: 'We are all heartbroken. Alan had a wonderful wit and a fabulously dry sense of humour. He was a devoted and adoring husband, father and grandfather. Family was always his focus.'
"Despite having MS and issues with his mobility, Alan participated in hugely successful reunion tours in the UK & Europe in 2013 and 2014. He bravely played to thousands of adoring fans... and loved being back with the band and his loyal QUO army."
Lancaster is the second original member of STATUS QUO to pass away. Guitarist Rick Parfitt died in December 2016 at the age of 68 after suffering from a severe infection.
In 2016, Lancaster told Australia's Studio 10: "It was a cocaine thing that broke STATUS QUO up. Cocaine was endemic in the business around the time. It makes you feel as if you're better than everybody else, superior. I think that's when we started to lose our brotherhood. Once [drummer] John [Coghlan] went, it was easy to start getting rid of us. And it's all to do with money as well — once one member leaves, you make more money if you don't pay them."

13. Caught In The Act (Medley)
The official "Turning To Crime" announcement is expected on October 6 at 7:00 a.m. PDT / 10:00 a.m. EDT at TurningToCrime.com.
Last December, DEEP PURPLE bassist Roger Glover revealed during a virtual meet-and-greet with Finnish fan Anssi Herkkola that the band was planning to enter the studio in 2021 to begin work on another album. Speaking about how he and the other members of PURPLE have been spending their coronavirus downtime, Roger said: "All this COVID situation has meant that we can't tour. We're twiddling our thumbs, really, for over a year, and the idea was to possibly go back in and do another album. And so we're just working towards that. It's so quick after we'd done the last album, [and] maybe that will spoil things, but we're gonna try and do another album at some point next year. We're experimenting with stuff."
DEEP PURPLE's latest album, "Whoosh!", was released in August 2020 via earMUSIC. The LP was once again helmed by Canadian producer Bob Ezrin (KISS, PINK FLOYD, ALICE COOPER), who also worked on the band's previous two studio albums, 2017's "Infinite" and 2013's "Now What?!"
Glover told Den Of Geek about the PURPLE songwriting process: "All our songs come from jamming. We don't actually write songs, they just evolve as we play. The first writing session is usually a lot of fun. We just explore different rhythms and riffs and whatever, and then take a break to listen to them, and figure out which ones we really want to work on, and that's the second writing session. And then we go to the studio and record them, but at this point, we rarely have finished vocals or lyrics. It's usually when the album has been all recorded instrumentally that [singer] Ian Gillan and I go off on our own somewhere for a couple of weeks and we write the words. Sometimes he writes on his own, sometimes I write my own. Sometimes we write together. And that's how it comes out.
He added: "You don't go to a PURPLE session with anything like a finished song. You go with an idea, and we all work on it together. It's got to be a collective. That's the point of the band — it's a collective. So, one person couldn't write a DEEP PURPLE song. It takes five of us.
"We've always done it that way. It's a strange way to write songs, I know. Most people write the songs before they go in the studio, we write them after we've been in the studio. But it was like that in '69 when I joined the band. It's been the same ever since."
In the Den Of Geek interview, Glover also said that DEEP PURPLE has "always" been a democratic group. "It was right from when I first joined the band," he explained. "We decided that whoever writes any particular idea, we all share, because we all contribute. The way we play is almost as much a part of the writing process as what the riff or the lyrics are. So we all shared everything. It didn't last that way. When I left the band, and Gillan left the band, it changed. It changed up until when Steve Morse joined. When Steve Morse joined, we said, 'Right, let's share everything.' It takes away stress, it takes away ego, it takes away jealousy, it takes away bad vibes. And I think we all share and we all write for it. We all work our bits. So that's the way we do it, and it is a democratic band."

"The Persistence Of Memory", which was named after a Salvador Dalí painting, features the following tracks:
01. Rage
02. Always On My Mind (feat. Till Lindemann)
03. Freeze My Mind
04. Yeah Yeah Yeah

09. I Will Let You Go
As a member of RAMMSTEIN, the music world's most explosive live act, Kruspe has been part of a ground-breaking global success story that continues to build and to ignite; along the way, he's turned his attention to a number of parallel projects, such as constructing a studio (and a home) in his native Berlin, but it's his decision to launch the EMIGRATE setup that has given him the greatest chance to satisfy creative instincts outside of the parent group.
The first EMIGRATE album appeared in 2007 (a self-titled record that went Top 10 in Germany, with single/video "My World" appearing on the soundtrack to the third "Resident Evil" movie); "Silent So Long" followed in 2014, featuring guest vocals from such high-profile artists as Marilyn Manson, Jonathan Davis, Peaches and the legend that will always be Lemmy. EMIGRATE's third album, "A Million Degrees" came out in November 2018 and was described as "less a successor to 'Silent So Long' and more a re-booted take on the overall concept, continuing Kruspe's desire to craft something personal."
"I really want the freedom to collaborate with different people and to explore different kinds of music," Kruspe explained when "A Million Degrees" was first released, "to express myself as both a writer and a singer away from deadlines, timelines and other such restrictions. The idea is to keep experimenting and to keep challenging myself. Plus, EMIGRATE works in an organic way, so musicians can come and go, and it's still okay, it's positive…"
RAMMSTEIN's seventh, untitled album came out in May 2019 via UME/Spinefarm in Europe and Caroline Records in the U.S.
RAMMSTEIN will bring its full-scale stadium production to North America for the first time ever in the summer of 2022.

RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS To Embark On 2022 Global Stadium TourRED HOT CHILI PEPPERS have announced that they will embark on a global stadium tour in 2022.
The news of the upcoming return to the live stage was broken via a fake-news comedy bit by KHOT channel personalities Johnson Hammerswaddle, Todd The Squirrel and Randy Raindrops — a.k.a. Anthony Kiedis, Flea and Chad Smith — who confirmed that RHCP will be touring "the whole world" beginning June next year, with the American leg kicking off in July.
A press release adds that "the boys are firing on all cylinders, their hearts are full and they're fixing to unleash an infinite river of creativity, and rock your world.
"The band is grateful to be working with event producers Live Nation in this endeavor.
"All the tour dates, sales information, support acts and other factoids will be available shortly.
"The RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS have been around, and have not just fallen off the turnip truck, but to a man, they have never been more thrilled, bursting with commitment and purpose, as they are regarding this upcoming tour. They have no interest in resting on past accolades, awards or commercial success, this is a mission, they intend to channel the most mighty spirits, and give everything they've got."
The RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS have not yet announced any tour dates, venues or openers.
This past May, Smith said that "it's been really fun" working again with guitarist John Frusciante.
Frusciante rejoined RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS in December 2019 after the dismissal of Josh Klinghoffer, who had been in the band for 10 years.
Smith discussed RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS' renewed collaboration with Frusciante in a new interview with SiriusXM's Pop Rocks. He said: "He's back in the group, and it's really exciting and fun, and we just kind of picked up where we left off. We've known each other for so long — obviously, 30-plus years — so it's like putting on a nicely well-worn pair of shoes that feel really good, and you get back in there and it's comfortable and a little bit different, but still we're doing our thing. So it's been really fun."
Regarding RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS' plans to release the follow-up to 2016's "The Getaway" album, Chad said: "There's been no hurry, with what's happened over the last year or so. So we've been kind of taking our time, and we have lots of new music, and we're very excited about it, and when it's done, it's done, and we'll put it out, and we'll go play some concerts next year. We look forward to being in front of people again, like everybody wants to be so badly, us included. Not only having new music to play, but also we just wanna play live. And that's such an important part of life's experiences and certainly of being a band. It's really important to us. We were gonna play last summer. But we want it to be safe for everyone and a really good experience for everyone, so we pushed everything off, but we're coming back, and it's gonna be great."
Frusciante originally joined RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS following the death of founding guitarist Hillel Slovak in 1988. This lineup recorded two highly successful albums that brought the group mainstream popularity: "Mother's Milk" and "Blood Sugar Sex Magik". Sadly, Frusciante fell into a deep heroin addiction that caused him to leave the band while touring to support "Blood Sugar Sex Magik". Frusciante rejoined CHILI PEPPERS six years later, playing on 1999 album "Californication", 2002's "By The Way" and 2006's "Stadium Arcadium" before quitting the band again in September 2009.
Last October, Frusciante told the Australian digital radio station Double J that playing with his RHCP bandmates Anthony Kiedis, Flea and Smith once again was like "returning to family. I'm extremely comfortable with those people. It was as if no time had gone by at all when we started playing, pretty much, with a couple of minor exceptions, like how Chad and I gradually got our communication together in a new way. Basically, we're all just as comfortable with each other as we ever were, and it just felt like that right off the bat."

NONPOINT Releases Cover Of PRINCE's 'When Doves Cry'NONPOINT has released its cover version of "When Doves Cry" to all major platforms today. The single was originally released by PRINCE AND THE REVOLUTION in 1984 and was one of the hit singles from the album "Purple Rain".
Vocalist Elias Soriano says: "Our fans throughout the years have always had a quiet romance with the songs we like to cover. Seeing that our biggest showing in that category, our cover of Phil Collins's 'In The Air Tonight', was a suggestion from a friend and fan of the band, we thought it only fitting we let all our fans have a chance to throw their hats in the ring this time. So in the middle of a global pandemic, we threw up a bracket-style voting tournament with a list of contenders from METALLICA to DMX. As fans voted over a few weeks, it was exciting to watch it go from 16 songs to the final two, METALLICA's 'Nothing Else Matters' vs Prince's 'When Doves Cry'. When they chose Prince, the real work began. We went through version after version. We knew we had to do it justice in the biggest way we could as tribute to Prince and still make it NONPOINT. I'm happy to report from initial response among the few who have heard, it is exciting and we look forward to our fans singing it for years to come."
Dr. Fink of PRINCE AND THE REVOLUTION reacted by saying: "I just listened to 'Doves' and thought it was great! NONPOINT's revision of 'When Doves Cry' by PRINCE AND THE REVOLUTION rocks like a champion bullfighter slaying a prized bull!"
Earlier in the month, NONPOINT rescheduled just under a dozen shows on its current tour after "multiple members of the band" tested positive for COVID-19.
NONPOINT has toured with major acts like DISTURBED, PAPA ROACH, MUDVAYNE and SEVENDUST, to name a few. They have also been featured on the main stages and support stages of iconic festivals like Soundwave, Rock Am Park, Rock Am Ring, Ozzfest, Rock On The Range, Welcome To Rockville and many more.
In June, NONPOINT released the music video for "Ruthless", the title track off the band's upcoming EP. The single was made available through the group own label 361 Degrees Records LLC and was this year's featured track on AEW's "Blood And Guts" on TNT.
NONPOINT launched its independent record label 361 Degrees Records LLC in January of this year. They filmed the process of starting the label and making new music in a docu-series titled "A Path To Independence" that can be seen on the band's YouTube and official web site. 1

THE DARKNESS Releases Music Video For New Single 'Jussy's Girl'British rockers THE DARKNESS have released new single "Jussy's Girl" along with the official video for the track. The song is taken from the band's upcoming album, "Motorheart", which is due on November 19 via Cooking Vinyl.
"Jussy's Girl" is sensitive as a falling boulder. It oozes rock and roll extravagance with huge 1980s influenced riffs and an anthemic chorus that summons the inescapable carnal powers of love. The fantastical "Jussy’s Girl" video features frontman Justin Hawkins as a leather-clad biker journeying through a telephone booth time machine back to the days of black and white silent movies for a nefarious murder mystery, starring his musical companions in never-before-seen style.
Regarding the single, Justin says: "'Jussy's Girl' is a song about unrequited desires of both the flesh and the heart. Although one could argue that hearts are made out of the same stuff as flesh. You know what I mean though. It's about an unspeakable longing, but sounds like a bloke walking around in his 501s on a sunny day. It's sad, but also carefree. Sonically, we were aiming for somewhere between DEF LEPPARD and Billy Ocean. Well, I was. There's a helicopter in it and an awesome guitar solo. What more could you ask for?"
"Jussy's Girl" is the latest single from "Motorheart". The song follows the release of the high-octane riffola "Nobody Can See Me Cry" and the growling, pounding title track that pays homage to a devoted sex robot.
"Motorheart" is a record of immeasurable rock and roll extravagance, and yet another masterpiece from England's favorite rock icons. It will be made available in a wide variety of formats, including standard and deluxe versions, both digitally and on CD. There's a heavyweight black vinyl album alongside limited-edition color LPs, an old-school cassette version. With exclusive bundles and signed editions to boot, it's the complete aural experience from THE DARKNESS, and a glorious addition to one of the most exciting canons in British rock music.
"Motorheart" track listing:
01. Welcome Tae Glasgae
02. It's Love, Jim
03. Motorheart
04. The Power And The Glory Of Love
05. Jussy's Girl
06. Sticky Situations
07. Nobody Can See Me Cry
08. Eastbound
09. Speed Of The Nite Time
10. You Don't Have To Be Crazy About Me… But It Helps *
11. It's A Love Thang (You Wouldn't Understand) *
12. So Long *
* bonus deluxe tracks
THE DARKNESS frontman Justin Hawkins recently told Chaoszine about what it was like making an LP during the pandemic: "The [other] guys [from the band] were writing from London, and I was working here [home] in Switzerland. And we had this thing; it's called Listento. So when I was recording my vocals, I was able to communicate with my brother [THE DARKNESS guitarist Dan Hawkins], who was producing the record from the U.K. So I'd be able to talk to him. And he'd be doing my takes. It was kind of like as a plugin on Pro Tools.
"When you think about it, if I'm in the vocal booth with my headphones on, and the producer is outside the vocal booth, it's the same level of interaction as to use Listento and be in a different country," he explained. "It doesn't really make much difference — the thousands of miles between us is irreleveant, really, because it's the same experience; I can hear his voice but I can't see his face, just like in a normal studio. So it became pretty normal, actually, as soon as the recording process started. The only difference would be in the writing — we didn't collaborate in the same way with the writing. But we all had the same manifesto going into it. We wanted to make an uplifting rock record with just good-time boogie rock on it. We didn't wanna have anything clever, nothing too metal-y, nothing too acoustic-y and nothing too… There isn't really a power ballad on this album; we normally do a power ballad. There's no sad songs on it. It sounds like an AEROSMITH album or something like that — it's just a bit of good-time rock and roll."
Asked if it was hard to get into the mood to write an uplifting album during the COVID-19 crisis, Justin said: "We didn't wanna make a lockdown album. In the beginning of that thing, there was a lot of lockdown music coming out, and it was music that was influenced and informed by the experience of the pandemic. And it's tempting to do that kind of thing, but I don't think it's our job. I think our job is to provide something else, really. Our fans wanna hear us pissing about and doing stupid [stuff]. Other people can do the other stuff; we'll just do what we do. Even if you feel sad, it's good to write a happy song, I think. There's more than one way to approach every situation, and THE DARKNESS way probably, whilst it's tempting to do serious and sad stuff, that's not what our audience wants to hear, and I don't think it's what we wanna do, really. We just wanna have a good time."
With a back catalog overflowing with sonic gold and a live reputation that most bands can only dream of attaining, THE DARKNESS have established themselves as one of the most loved and important British rock bands of our time. Their last album, 2019's "Easter Is Cancelled", became the band's fourth Top 10 album in the U.K. while also topping the Official Charts Top 40 Rock Chart and the iTunes Rock Chart, alongside receiving swathes of critical praise.
THE DARKNESS will be showcasing the live potency of "Motorheart" on their extensive 22-date U.K. headline tour throughout November and December this year. A true spectacle to behold, fans will be treated to brand new songs from the album as well as hits from across their award-winning, platinum selling back catalogue. Support also comes from BRITISH LION, the side project of legendary IRON MAIDEN founder and bassist Steve Harris.

FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY To Release Oh What The Future Holds Album In January; "Far From Heaven" Music Video StreamingNew Jersey six-piece, Fit For An Autopsy, will release their new album, Oh What The Future Holds, on January 14 via Nuclear Blast Worldwide and Human Warfare Australia/NZ. Vinyl and apparel pre-orders here.
The band have released a video for the first single, "Far From Heaven", which can be found below.
Says the band: "A worthy introduction to premiere the album, we pick up where we left off creatively from our last release. Although there are more drastic dynamic turns to come, 'Far From Heaven' delivers from a more simplistic and primal place. Lyrically, this record will take you further into internal turmoil and chaos than we have gone before, partially due to isolation but also as an overstated reflection on existence itself. This song is much more a liter 2

THE RISEN DREAD Release "White Night" Single Feat. SEPULTURA Guitarist ANDREAS KISSER; Music VideoIrish quintet, The Risen Dread, have released their new single, “White Night”. The track features Sepultura guitarist, Andreas Kisser.
When asked about the track and Kisser’s involvement the band had this to say: “'White Night' denote a crisis within Peoples Temple (Jonestown), followed by a rehearsal of collective suicide. Reverend Jim Jones had ordered his entire community to drink a flavoured drink mix treated with a mixture of potassium cyanide and tranquillisers, placed in industrial buckets. In total, 909 individuals died in Jonestown; Jim Jones shot himself in the head at the end of that night.

BLUE ÖYSTER CULT Founding Member ALBERT BOUCHARD To Release Second Instalment In Imaginos Trilogy In October; "OD'd On Life Itself" Lyric Video StreamingAlbert Bouchard is best known as a founding member of Blue Öyster Cult. The original lineup sold millions of albums for Columbia Records, with such classic songs as “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” and the #1 hit on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart “Burning For You”. Contributing to songwriting, drums, and lead vocals on some of their greatest songs, such as “Cites On Flame With Rock And Roll”.
With the success of Re Imaginos last year, Albert Bouchard is now back with Imaginos 2 – Bombs Over Germany (minus zero and counting), continuing the Trilogy of Imaginos, a concept album about an alien conspiracy that is brought to fruition during the late 19th and early 20th century through the actions of Imaginos, an agent of evil. The album weaves scripts and poems by the late Sandy Pearlman. It features guests Ross The Boss (Dictators), Joe Cerisano (Silver Condor, TSO), and reunites original Blue Öyster Cult members Eric Bloom, Donald “Buck Dharma” Roeser and Joe Bouchard, as well current BOC member Richie Castellano, who all contribute to this latest installment. The album also features reworks of classics like “Cities On Flame With Rock And Roll”, “The Red And The Black”, and “Dominance And Submission”.
The first single from the album is “OD’d On Life Itself” and Albert had this to say about it, “This version of 'OD’d On Life Itself' is a very different take on the song that was recorded for BOC’s second album, Tyranny And Mutation. The lyrics return to the original lyrics written by Sandy Pearlman, much less sarcastic and much more spooky. The track reflects that change with a simpler and more spacious arrangement with just acoustic guitar, mysterioso guitar, violin, drums and bass. The stand out lyrics are “Don’t you fear this trade in lives” and “This wedding by heaven was made up in hell” which portend to the darker nature of this second act in the Imaginos saga.”

Florida's REBEL ROCK Festival CanceledThe organizers of this weekend's Rebel Rock festival in Orlando, Florida have announced the cancelation of the four-day event. Earlier today, they issued the following statement regarding the matter: "We are deeply and utterly devastated to announce the cancellation of this weekend's Rebel Rock Festival.
"After this week's severe weather and despite our crew's effort to improve the ground conditions around the Main Stage over the last three days, our venue partner has deemed the area unfit for artists, crews, vendors, and fans. We were able to get in the Taco Metal Party on Thursday by using the B-Main grounds while continuing to work on the conditions of the Main Stage grounds. The amount of water dropped this week simply proved to be too much to clear to provide you a safe festival environment and experience. We can't tell you how heartbreaking it is to see two years of work be tackled by mother nature.
"We'll share more information about refunds as soon as possible."
In the last few weeks, Rebel Rock was forced to reshuffle its lineup following several high-profile cancelations. INCUBUS, which was stepping in for original headliners LIMP BIZKIT, announced on Tuesday that it was dropping out of the festival due to COVID-19 concerns. LIMP BIZKIT called off its entire tour shortly after playing at the Lollapalooza festival this summer. Other acts which pulled out of the four-day festival at the Central Florida Fairgrounds included DEVILDRIVER, LIGHT THE TORCH and EMMURE. VOLBEAT were forced to cancel its set due to issues getting into the U.S.

ROB HALFORD Is 'Just Not Interested' In Hearing TIM 'RIPPER' OWENS-Era JUDAS PRIEST AlbumsIn a new interview with Classic Rock magazine, JUDAS PRIEST singer Rob Halford was asked if he has listened to "Demolition" and "Jugulator", the two albums PRIEST made with singer Tim "Ripper" Owens during a period in the late 1990s and early 2000s when Halford was out of the band. "No. I still haven't," he said. "This might sound selfish, but because it's not me singing, I'm not attracted to it. I sound like a twat, but I'm really just not interested. And that's no disrespect to Ripper, 'cause he's a friend of mine."
Halford went on to say that he first met Owens "when the band went through Ohio, [and Tim] came to the show. Was it awkward? Not in the least," he said. "We gave each other a hug. He's a massive PRIEST fan, and when the opportunity came for me to go back, he was, like, 'Thumbs up, it's great. I'm happy for the band, I'm happy for Rob.' I respect his chops; he's a great singer."
Owens joined PRIEST in 1996 after being discovered when the band's drummer, Scott Travis, was given a videotape of him performing with the PRIEST cover act BRITISH STEEL. JUDAS PRIEST at the time was seeking a replacement for Halford.
In a 2000 interview, Halford explained why he was reluctant to hear "Jugulator". "It's just too difficult for me to listen to the band when I'm not in it, and that's nothing to do with taking a shot at Ripper," he said. "I just can't listen to it. It's just psychological. I should just put it on and listen to the fucking thing, but then if I do, [interviewers] will say, 'Well have you heard it?', and I'll go, 'Yeah', and then you'll go, 'What do you think?', and I don't want to do that. I don't want to be put in that situation. I just love all the things that I've done with the band and I'm happy to be a part of that great legacy and that's all. You want to treat it with respect because that's what it deserves."
Last October, Halford told "The SDR Show" that he would "absolutely" be open to performing material from "Demolition" and "Jugulator" with PRIEST. "Those two albums are just as valid as everything else in the PRIEST catalog," he explained. "So who knows? That day may yet come."
In 2019, Owens told Ultimate Guitar that he believes his era of JUDAS PRIEST is largely overlooked. "Yeah, I think it definitely deserves more [attention]," he said. "I mean, they don't do anything. [Laughs] It's kind of amazing that they just totally erased it that they won't play... I mean, 'Burn In Hell' [off 'Jugulator'], the crowd would like to hear 'Burn In Hell'.
"They don't have to give me a tribute or anything, but it would be nice to play a song from... You know, that was a pretty big thing, I did two studio records, two live records, and a DVD, starting from '96 to 2004. So it's kind of crazy that it's just been erased and they won't even play a song from it live, because it is JUDAS PRIEST."
In October 2019, JUDAS PRIEST guitarist Richie Faulkner said that "Hell Is Home" is one of his favorite songs from the Owens era. The PRIEST guitarist, who joined the band in 2011 as the replacement for K.K. Downing, offered his opinion during a live video chat. He said: "I was listening to the Ripper albums the other day, and 'Hell Is Home' is such a great track. It's really heavy and the vocal melody is really great. I think Ripper sings it really well. It's probably one of my favorite PRIEST songs of the Ripper era. 'Hell Is Home' — I really like that."
"Demolition" and "Jugulator" are included on "50 Heavy Metal Years Of Music", JUDAS PRIEST's upcoming limited-edition box set which will contain every official live and studio album to date plus 13 unreleased discs. Due on October 15, it is the most extensive release of previously unreleased music the band has made from its vast archi 17

Sweden's MAD INVASION Release Edge Of The World AlbumSwedish band, Mad Invasion, combines classic 70’s hard rock influences with a modern approach and soundscape. The vast experience of the band members as musicians, songwriters and performing artists - includes numerous album releases and tours over the years.
Mad Invasion now release their long-awaited debut album, entitled Edge Of The World, an album that offers a wide range of heavy songs with bone crushing guitars, airy keyboards, and a dynamic rhythm section - adding the final touches to the very distinct Mad Invasion sound. The three first videos also feature special guest Mikkey Dee from Motörhead and Scorpions.
About the album: The theme of the album is dark and mostly about the constant battle between the evil that surrounds us, in all shapes and forms. A topic that has been around as long as humankind has existed. Evil is real and we all experience it in our everyday lives, where life is getting harder and tougher for everyone.
