EXTREME Shares 'Small Town Beautiful' Music Video

EXTREME Shares 'Small Town Beautiful' Music Video

Massachusetts rockers EXTREME continue to highlight the many sides of "Six", their first album for earMUSIC released in June 2023, with a new video for the charmingly gentle and lyrical track "Small Town Beautiful".

"Six" was conceived as an album-length journey. With the tenth video to be released from that album (a run that began with "Rise" amassing millions of views followed by "#Rebel", through "Thicker Than Blood", up to "Beautiful Girls" and "Save Me" garnering millions more) the story and the journey continue as Nuno Bettencourt, Gary Cherone, Pat Badger and Kevin Figueiredo explore the beauty in the small things of the places we call "home."

Bettencourt states: "'Small Town Beautiful'... is a beauty that is simple, kind and caring. You can see it in her smile, gentle, warm, pure, familiar. The girl next door from a small community, a small town that no matter where she will journey to, a big city or even off to serve... There is an aura, a glow around her...her small town comes with her wherever she goes and whomever she touches."

With "Small Town Beautiful", EXTREME also wishes to shine a light on fans' hometowns around the world — embracing where they come from.

Many of us leave our homes to chase our dreams, whatever those may be, but these small towns leave an everlasting mark on us.
That is why EXTREME is asking all fans to be a part of this song and to journey together. The band will create a special fan-edit of the music video to feature the fans themselves... their hometowns and their stories.

Head over here to submit a photo in your small town for a chance to be featured in the new video. EXTREME wants to see the places that shaped the person that you are today. Because we all have a story to tell, and it starts with home.

The idea is to rally EXTREME fans around the song and create a virtual space where all can be "home" together as the holiday season approaches.

As most folks are thinking about being "home for the holidays," EXTREME will travel to India for the Bandland festival in November and has once again confirmed its presence on the Monsters Of Rock cruise in 2025.

"Six" landed at position No. 10 on Billboard's Top Album Sales chart with first-week sales of 12,500 copies. The set marked the band's first studio album since 2008. The act was last in the Top 10 with "III Sides To Every Story", which debuted and peaked at No. 10 back in October 1992.

Last year, Nuno told Tiago Ribeiro, that he was thrilled with how "Six" turned out. "I would put our album up against anybody's album; I feel that confident," Nuno said. "And I think the album itself — never mind me or EXTREME — if I heard that album and it wasn't us, I would think the same way I think about the album now. I think it belongs there. I think it's a well-made album. I think the songs are there. I think that the musicianship, the chemistry and the guitar playing. But I think, more importantly, what's really there and what people are connecting with is the mythology of rock and roll. I think that's really what's missing a lot in guitar-driven music, is that…

"I think when people saw a guitar player that's in a band with songs and arrangements and the videos and everything, it was almost like seeing something that… People are saying it's so fresh, but for us, it's, like, this is like going back for us," he explained. "This is more of a reminder than it is anything else that you can still be passionate and have fire and do all those things. And the people are letting us know that they're starved — they're starved for rock and roll like this, I think."

In September 2023, Nuno told American Musical Supply about the long delay in getting "Six" released: "The recording [of 'Six'], a lot of people are saying like, 'Man, [it took] 15 years,' obviously, minus a few of the handmaid's tale years, pandemic years. But the album itself probably, if you add it up, it took the same length as an album takes to record. It didn’t take 15 years to record the album. It's just that we probably had, like, three albums' worth of material. The guys kept coming out to L.A., and we would do a crop of songs, and we'd write another crop of songs or record another couple crop of songs."

Bettencourt went on to say that he and his EXTREME bandmates had "set a bar" for themselves. "You really have to be super proud and super excited to share your music with anybody, even if it's your brother or it's your family member or if it's Tom Morello that you happen to know," he explained. "Once you have that feeling of, 'Would you play these songs in front of your peers?', then you kind of know you got something there and you're ready to go."

EXODUS Releases Cover Of AC/DC's 'Beating Around The Bush'

EXODUS Releases Cover Of AC/DC's 'Beating Around The Bush'

San Francisco Bay Area thrash metal veterans EXODUS have released their cover of the AC/DC classic "Beating Around The Bush". The track, which features a guest solo by former EXODUS guitarist Rick Hunolt, was originally recorded during the sessions for EXODUS's 2021 album "Persona Non Grata" but has not been released until now.

EXODUS said: "Unbeknownst to anyone, while recording 'Persona Non Grata' we also busted out a few cover songs by our favorite bands, and there's no band we love more than AC/DC! So we decided to do our own take on 'Beating Around The Bush'! We love the song and we stoked on our rendition. Hope you dig it too!"

Fan-filmed video of EXODUS performing "Beating Around The Bush" at several shows on the band's 2022 tour can be seen below.

EXODUS singer Steve "Zetro" Souza is also the frontman of the long-running San Francisco Bay Area-based AC/DC tribute band AC/DZ, also featuring DEATH ANGEL drummer Will Carroll.

In an interview with Myglobalmind, Souza stated about AC/DC's singer change following the death of Scott: "You know, it took a while for everybody to get used to Brian Johnson after Bon. I was 16 when Bon Scott died, and I remember, I was, like, 'Oh, my god, what are they going to do?! That voice is that music.' He fitted that guitar, what they were doing; it was like a glove. How do you replace that? And then in time, Brian has become that, and out of everybody, I would have to say him and Bruce Dickinson [IRON MAIDEN] taking over from Paul Di'Anno did an amazing job in the transition."

Back in 2015, Souza told Southeast Of Heaven that he preferred the Scott era of AC/DC over the Johnson era. "There's no comparison," he said. "That's not to say that Brian's not any good. I respect Brian. Hell, he took over and if you think about it, he's been in the band three times longer than Bon. Bon, the way that he sang. The way he wrote that tongue-in-cheek stuff. Like 'Big Balls'. What's that about? It's about dance? It's about his balls? [Laughs] The metaphors in that song were just clever as hell, and it's hard to write clever."

"Persona Non Grata" was recorded at a studio in Lake Almanor, California and was engineered by Steve Lagudi and EXODUS. It was produced by EXODUS and was mixed by Andy Sneap. For the third time in the band's history, they returned to Swedish artist Pär Olofsson to create the album artwork.

"Persona Non Grata" is the follow-up to 2014's "Blood In Blood Out", which was the San Francisco Bay Area thrashers' first release since the departure of the group's lead singer of nine years, Rob Dukes, and the return of Souza, who previously fronted EXODUS from 1986 to 1993 and from 2002 to 2004.

Watch: CORROSION OF CONFORMITY Performs With New Touring Bassist BOBBY LANDGRAF On 2024 'Headbangers Boat'

Watch: CORROSION OF CONFORMITY Performs With New Touring Bassist BOBBY LANDGRAF On 2024 'Headbangers Boat'

Fan-filmed video of CORROSION OF CONFORMITY performing on this year's edition of the Headbangers Boat cruise can be seen below. Presented by Sixthman, Lamb Of God Presents Headbangers Boat 2024 sailed October 28-November 1, 2024 from Miami, Florida to the brand new port of Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic aboard the Norwegian Gem.

CORROSION OF CONFORMITY recruited onetime DOWN guitarist and current PANTERA bass tech Bobby Landgraf to play bass for the band on Headbangers Boat.

On October 26, two days before the launch of this year's Headbangers Boat, CORROSION OF CONFORMITY released the following statement via social media: "Yo Yo Yo!! To all our CORROSION friends and Family ( the Free Thinkers and Beer drinkers) We are proud to announce that Austin's finest world class ripper, Bobby Rock will be throwing down on the Bass for the wild assed Headbangers Boat We are stoked to have him on the open Seas. Jason 'pickles' Paterson will be joining us again beating on the Skins. We've been woodshedding for the past 2 weeks. Gotta say it's a hella powerful Rock outfit. See you on the horizon….CORROSION Stay tuned Rockers!!"

Last month, CORROSION OF CONFORMITY's founding bassist Mike Dean announced his departure from the band.

Dean revealed his decision to leave CORROSION OF CONFORMITY in a statement posted on social media on September 20. He wrote: "Recently I made a decision to step away from CORROSION OF CONFORMITY, a band started 40-odd years ago by Reed Mullin, Woody Weatherman, and myself.

"I'm extremely proud of everything we've done together, and look forward to hearing more from the band going forward.

"When I rejoined COC for the finishing touches of the 'Deliverance' album, I moved back to Raleigh, NC for an all-in creative campaign, but time, distance and side projects and life in general has changed all of that.

"Ever since Reed drifted away from the band and then passed away, it's been difficult for me to collaborate on new material with bandmates who live hundreds of miles away.

"I look forward to putting together a new Raleigh-based outlet to create new music with more alacrity and with more of an emphasis on my own ideas than in recent times. Also, I look forward to continuing to record and produce other artists.

"All the best to Woodroe, Pepper, and COC crew, and most importantly, many big thanks to the fans of all iterations of the band, who have made this real for all of these years. Salute!"

The remaining members of CORROSION OF CONFORMITY — Pepper Keenan (vocals, guitar) and Woodroe "Woody" Weatherman (guitar) — added in a separate statement: "We, Woodroe and Pepper, are in full support of Dean's future endeavors and wish him all the best in the quest. Thankful for the music made and (R)evolutionary paths created. That being said, this book of CORROSION is not finished, nor will the train stop.

"The opportunity to play music and create is something that we don't take lightly, and we will not waver. New COC recording is well underway and will be released in 2025.

"Much love and respect to all the free thinkin' beer drinkin' friends and fans worldwide, looking to making more. Without you, we are just growing deaf in a garage."

A year and a half ago, CORROSION OF CONFORMITY confirmed the return of drummer Stanton Moore for its upcoming album. The "brutal-sounding" follow-up to 2018's "No Cross No Crown" is tentatively due in 2025.

Mullin died in January 2020 at the age of 53. The drummer, who co-founded CORROSION OF CONFORMITY in 1982 as a hardcore punk act alongside Weatherman and Dean, had missed a number of shows in the preceding four years due to a variety of health issues, including an alcohol-related seizure he suffered back in June 2016.

In 2014, after nearly a straight decade traversing the globe as a guitarist with New Orleans supergroup DOWN, Pepper reconnected with the core CORROSION OF CONFORMITY trio of Weatherman, Dean and Mullin to hit the road hard. "Reed called me and mentioned maybe playing a couple shows," Keenan recalled back in 2017. "I said, 'Let's just go to Europe and see if it works.' So we went to Europe and then ended up going back four times in one year... We toured for a year and then started tracking."

CORROSION OF CONFORMITY recorded "No Cross No Crown" in about forty days over the course of a year at a North Carolina studio with longtime producer John Custer.

And just like that, there was Corrosion Of Conformity We're still docked but man that was a fine howdydoo on this Monday afternoon

Watch: LINKIN PARK Performs 'Heavy Is The Crown' At 2024 'League Of Legends' World Championship Opening Ceremony

Watch: LINKIN PARK Performs 'Heavy Is The Crown' At 2024 'League Of Legends' World Championship Opening Ceremony

LINKIN PARK played its new single "Heavy Is The Crown" earlier today (Saturday, November 2) at the 2024 League Of Legends World Championship opening ceremony at the O2 Arena in London. Check out video of the band's performance below. Also scheduled to appear were Ashnikko, Mars Atlas Of Forts and Tiffany Aris.

"Heavy Is the Crown" is the 2024 League Of Legends World Championship Anthem, marking the band's first collaboration with Riot Games.

Since its September 24 release, "Heavy Is The Crown" has become the most-streamed Worlds anthem, with over 270 million audio streams and 57 million views on YouTube.

"Heavy Is The Crown" will appear on LINKIN PARK's upcoming album, "From Zero", due on November 15 via Warner. It will mark LINKIN PARK's first full-length effort since 2017's "One More Light", which was the last LINKIN PARK album before the death of lead vocalist Chester Bennington.

"From Zero" features LINKIN PARK's new singer Emily Armstrong and drummer Colin Brittain, who have joined returning members Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Dave "Phoenix" Farrell and Joe Hahn in the band's new lineup. Guitarist Alex Feder is filling in for Delson at all LINKIN PARK concerts for the foreseeable future.

Late last month, LINKIN PARK added three November dates to the "From Zero" tour, in Paris, Dallas, and São Paulo.

In an interview with Billboard about LINKIN PARK's comeback, Shinoda explained that drummer Rob Bourdon — who had founded the band with Mike and Brad — had decided to exit LP.

"Rob had said to us at a point, I guess it was a few years ago now, that he wanted to put some distance between himself and the band," Shinoda said. "And we understood that — it was already apparent. He was starting to just show up less, be in less contact, and I know the fans noticed it too. The 'Hybrid Theory' re-release [in 2020] and 'Papercuts' release [this past April], he didn't show up for anything. So for me, as a friend, that was sad, but at the same time, I want him to do whatever makes him happy, and obviously everybody wishes him the best."

According to a press release, Shinoda, Delson, Farrell and Hahn "quietly began meeting up again in recent years" and "rather than 'trying to restart the band,'" they worked with numerous musicians and "found a special kinship with Armstong and Brittain."

Regarding the band's new lineup and future plans, Shinoda said in a statement: "Before LINKIN PARK, our first band name was XERO. This album title refers to both this humble beginning and the journey we’re currently undertaking. Sonically and emotionally, it is about past, present, and future — embracing our signature sound, but new and full of life. It was made with a deep appreciation for our new and longtime bandmates, our friends, our family, and our fans. We are proud of what LINKIN PARK has become over the years, and excited about the journey ahead."

POISON Will Play 'A Minimum Of 40 Shows And Maybe More' In 2026

POISON Will Play 'A Minimum Of 40 Shows And Maybe More' In 2026

During an October 31 appearance on SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk", POISON drummer Rikki Rockett spoke about the band's plans to return to the road in 2026 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of POISON's debut album, 1986's "Look What The Cat Dragged In". Asked if he and his bandmates will embark on a headline tour or if they will package with another band, possibly as part of another stadium tour, the 63-year-old Rikki, whose real name is Richard Allan Ream, said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "It's not figured out. We have agreed to do a minimum of 40 dates and maybe more. So whatever it works out to be, but it's for sure gonna be that many, at least. And I don't know. I mean, if there's somebody that we can package with that makes sense, great. If there isn't, then we'll headline. Whatever makes sense. I don't know who's going out yet that year, in '26, but if it makes sense to package with somebody, we'll do it. If it doesn't, we'll do it ourselves. It's like Bret [Michaels, POISON frontman] said, if you can't do it right, do it anyway. But we'll be doing it right. [Laughs]"

This past September, Bret told Arizona Republic about POISON's plan to tour in 2026: "Yeah, that would be incredible. We've just got to work out all the moving parts. But all original members. There's so much planning goes behind that. When I'm out as Bret Michaels, it's simpler because I'm making all the end decisions. When you're in a band like POISON, it's a committee. You go in there, and you figure it out together. You make sure everyone's good. And hopefully, we can make that work in '26."

Asked if things were "good" between him and his POISON bandmates during the 2022 "The Stadium Tour" with DEF LEPPARD, MÖTLEY CRÜE and Joan Jett, Bret said: "Absolutely. I want to be very clear. Other than an occasional throw down fistfight — I'm not making this up — we're like best friends. But there's no gray area. All of a sudden, we'll get in a fistfight. But the next day, we'll go out and play. We'll work it out like a band of brothers. 'The Stadium Tour' was amazing. We were having fun. We didn't get too many soundchecks. We just dealt with what we were given and were grateful to be there. DEF LEPPARD and MÖTLEY, they were amazing. They played great. But we just came out, and we knew we had one hour at 6 o'clock to go out there and give it everything we had. And it was one of the only stadium tours that from Live Nation's lips to everyone's ears, it was 98 to 100% filled when POISON went on."

Earlier in September, Michaels released a statement via social media in which he said that he was planning to "perform limited shows" in 2025 to focus primarily on his health, "starting with my diabetes which needs a tune-up, not to mention a little R&R." He added that 2026 "would be the perfect" time for a POISON 40th-anniversary tour, "with 40 awesome limited dates to go out, play real live hit songs, and rock the world."

Bret's explanation came two days after Rockett revealed on social media that Michaels was no longer interested in touring with POISON next year.

On September 10, the POISON drummer took to his official Facebook page to write: "I keep getting asked multiple times a day, 'Why isn't POISON touring in 2025 now?' Super simple answer, Bret doesn't want to." The following day, Rikki clarified: "People, I never said that Bret is cancelling the 2025 tour. It didn't get booked. I said the reason POISON isn't touring in 2025 is because Bret doesn't want to. Doesn't matter what the reason for him is as far as what I said. I'm simply telling you why so that CC [DeVille, POISON guitarist], Bobby [Dall, POISON bassist] or myself doesn't get blamed. It isn't dirt. It isn't a fight. Just the facts, ma'am. Surmise what you want from it. You will anyway!"

Just five months ago, Rikki wrote on social media that POISON would be touring in 2025." He added at the time: "As usual, there will be no backing tracks. Live, raw and uncut. Warts and all."

Nine months ago, Bret spoke about POISON's plans to regroup for more shows following the band's 2022 participation in "The Stadium Tour" alongside MÖTLEY CRÜE, DEF LEPPARD and Joan Jett. During a February 25, 2024 question-and-answer session aboard the Rock Legends Cruise XI, he said: "When we go back, I think in 2025, it's always been, to me, all-original POISON. We'll have C.C and Bobby and Rikki and myself and go do another big stadium tour and arena tour in 2025."

Regarding his motivation for going back out on the road with POISON after spending most of his time touring with his solo band, Bret said: "We've known each other since we've been in junior high school… I wouldn't be here without Bobby or Rikki or C.C. And then, as you go along, we've been together a long time — still great friends. If anyone saw 'The Stadium Tour', that was a party. And when you're out there with that DEF LEPPARD and MÖTLEY and Joan, you're talking A-plus awesomeness. And we just came out and brought it.

"For me, what it is, we do about a couple of years solo, and then we'll go out and do 35 or 40 dates with POISON," he explained. "And we set it up, we schedule it."

POISON's long-delayed North American trek with DEF LEPPARD, MÖTLEY CRÜE and JOAN JETT & THE BLACKHEARTS was originally planned for 2020 and later moved to 2021 and then to 2022.

In 2018, POISON completed the "Nothin' But A Good Time" tour with CHEAP TRICK and POP EVIL.

POISON's last album of new material was 2002's "Hollyweird". An album of covers, "Poison'd", followed in 2007.

Back in 2018, Dall said that POISON "should" be making a new studio album but claimed that he didn't know if it would happen. "I'm not going to bullshit you and say there's any [new music] in the process [of being made]," he told All That Shreds. "Would I like there to be? Yes. But, it's a matter of everyone having the time. Everybody in the band has other commitments. Some members have younger children than others. So between those two issues, it's difficult, and, you know, [there are] health issues as we get older. Should we be making a new record? Yes, definitely. But will it happen? I don't know."

In a 2017 interview, Rikki acknowledged that part of the reason the band hasn't been motivated to work on new music has been the fact that fans rarely show interest in hearing fresh material performed live when classic rock groups go on tour. "We could write the second coming of 'Talk Dirty To Me', and I don't know if people wanna hear it or not, and that's a frustrating thing; it really is," he said. "AEROSMITH was able to do it, but not everybody is. I mean, even THE ROLLING STONES have had problems with that in the last few years. So… I don't know. But I do think it's important to stay viable. For the 'über fans,' it's always a really, really good thing. And that's what you do it for — you do it for you, you do it for the real fans, the real true fans."

More recently, Rockett admitted that he and other members of POISON harbored some resentment toward Michaels, whose frequent tours as a solo artist caused the band to take a five-year break from the road.

"I think we need to get away from each other and do other things, but at the same time, I think he spent a little too much time away," Rockett said. "There's definitely some resentment, but not resentment like I want him to fail. I want him to do good. I just want POISON to be important too, and I would like [him] to put a little more energy into POISON."

ANTHRAX's FRANK BELLO Resumes Recording Bass Tracks For Band's Long-Awaited New Album

ANTHRAX's FRANK BELLO Resumes Recording Bass Tracks For Band's Long-Awaited New Album

ANTHRAX's Frank Bello has returned to Dave Grohl's Studio 606 in Northridge, California to resume recording the bass tracks for the band's long-awaited follow-up to 2016's "For All Kings" album.

On Friday (November 1),Bello took to his Instagram to share a photo from the studio, and he included the following message: "Always great to be back recording at #studio606- great sounds, great people & great vibes… #anthrax #basstracks #monsterenergy #spectorbass #tech21 #mesaboogie #emgpickups #monocreators #monstermusic #goodvibes #metal".

Frank played his first show with ANTHRAX in nearly a year and a half on October 12 at the Aftershock festival in Sacramento, California.

Bello and ANTHRAX were supposed to perform at the Louder Than Life festival in Louisville, Kentucky on September 27, but their show ended up being canceled due to severe weather.

Prior to Aftershock, Bello last played with ANTHRAX in May 2023 at the Milwaukee Metal Fest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

In April and early May, Bello sat out ANTHRAX's South American tour as well as two U.S. festival dates due to "personal reasons." Filling in on those shows was ANTHRAX founding member and original bassist Dan Lilker, marking his first appearance with the band in 40 years. Lilker, who co-wrote and played on ANTHRAX's debut album "Fistful Of Metal", was also a member of STORMTROOPERS OF DEATH with ANTHRAX drummer Charlie Benante and guitarist Scott Ian.

Frank made his live debut with Norwegian black metal veterans SATYRICON on June 6 at the Sweden Rock Festival in Sölvesborg, Sweden.

Bello played bass for SATYRICON for the band's summer 2024 European festival appearances, including Hellfest in France and Tons Of Rock in Norway.

Frank released a memoir, "Fathers, Brothers, And Sons: Surviving Anguish, Abandonment, And Anthrax", in October 2021 via Rare Bird. The foreword to the book was written by KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons.

Bello recently joined the Spector artist roster. Spector is currently developing the Frank Bello signature bass and it will be released in 2025. In the meantime, Frank will be exclusively playing Spector basses for rehearsals, recording, and on the upcoming European tour this November during ANTHRAX's co-headlining tour with German thrash titans KREATOR with Bay Area thrashers TESTAMENT.

CANDLEBOX's KEVIN MARTIN Offers Advice To Young Musicians: 'Lose Yourself In The Moment'

CANDLEBOX's KEVIN MARTIN Offers Advice To Young Musicians: 'Lose Yourself In The Moment'

In a new interview with Lucas Flood, CANDLEBOX frontman Kevin Martin offered his advice to young musicians who are hoping to break into the music business. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "It's a really fucking hard business. You're not protected, no one's out to protect you. They're there to make money off of you. That's why you're gonna work. Your manager's gonna take their 15 percent, your agent's gonna take their 10 percent, so your 25 percent off the top's gone. Play as many fucking shows as you can. Play all the fucking time. Tour with anyone. Open for anybody. Just any opportunity you have to play music for people to hear you. And trust one another. Respect one another. Give one another the space that they need. And if you feel overwhelmed, tell somebody: 'I feel overwhelmed. I'm not sure if I got the capacity for this.' Because you're up against 100,000 bands. I mean, fuck — how many records have been released this year? It's astonishing. So if you think you're gonna fucking stick out, you're probably not. You've gotta make yourself stick out.

"You have to lose yourself, man," he continued. "It's like fucking Eminem. Lose yourself in the moment. Don't fucking think about it. If the music's moving you… And don't try to dance like some other asshole in another fucking band.

"If you watch CLASH videos, you watch AEROSMITH early videos, you watch LED ZEPPELIN early videos, you watch any of those bands, it was all about the moment and being in it, not worrying about whether or not you had the right fucking jeans, the right shoes, the right shirt, any of that bullshit, because none of that matters," Kevin added. "At the end of the day, the music is the only thing that fucking matters. The song and what you're giving to that fucking audience is the most important thing in that fucking moment. And it should be the most important thing to you. And if you're thinking about how you look, what your fucking hair looks like or any of that bullshit, it's a waste of time. And that's just my opinion."

As previously reported, original CANDLEBOX members Kevin Martin (vocals),Peter Klett (guitar),Bardi Martin (bass) and Scott Mercado (drums) performed on October 10 during the San Francisco 49ers-versus-Seattle Seahawks halftime show at Lumen Field in Seattle, Washington. The band's set included abbreviated versions of the songs "You", "Cover Me" and "Far Behind" from CANDLEBOX's multi-platinum self-titled debut album, which came out in 1993.

CANDLEBOX supported BUSH on the "Loaded: The Greatest Hits Tour" with special guest Jerry Cantrell. The trek kicked off on July 26 in Bend, Oregon at the Hayden Homes Amphitheater and wrapped up on September 15 at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, California.

CANDLEBOX recently released "A Little Longer Goodbye (Tour Edition)", the digital deluxe version of the album "The Long Goodbye", via Round Hill Records. The digital release features the 12 tracks on the original record plus two bonus live songs, "Elegante" and "Cellphone Jesus" (recorded at Club Amanda in Santiago, Chile on October 27, 2023),as well as the official launch of the single "Washed Up".

CANDLEBOX has been performing songs from "A Little Longer Goodbye (Tour Edition)" as well as the hits that defined their career, including "Far Behind", "You" and "Cover Me", which propelled their self-titled debut album to sell more than four million copies worldwide.

"A Little Longer Goodbye (Tour Edition)" follows CANDLEBOX's eighth studio album, which was quite a swan song for the veteran band. "The Long Goodbye" was praised by critics for its hard-hitting, groove-infested beats and mature, soul-searching themes of love, loss, redemption, and the journey in between.

CANDLEBOX has been on an extended farewell tour since May 2023. The tour coincides with the 30th anniversary of the band's self-titled debut album.

Regarding the decision to call it quits, Martin told SPIN: "I've always been kind of the reluctant lead singer of this band. All of the time I've spent with CANDLEBOX has been obviously rewarding and enjoyable and the experience has been amazing, but when COVID hit, being home with my son and my wife was just eye-opening. It was everything I had realized I really wanted and had missed so much of."

COAL CHAMBER's DEZ FAFARA Offers Update On His Health, Says 'It's Nothing That's Gonna Kill Me'

COAL CHAMBER's DEZ FAFARA Offers Update On His Health, Says 'It's Nothing That's Gonna Kill Me'

COAL CHAMBER frontman Dez Fafara has offered an update on his health, two months after the band postponed its previously announced summer/fall "Fiend For The Fans" U.S. tour. The trek, which was scheduled to launch on August 23 in Las Vegas, was slated to feature support from FEAR FACTORY, TWIZTID, WEDNESDAY 13 and BLACK SATELLITE.

Earlier today (Wednesday, October 30),Fafara shared the following message via social media: "HEALTH UPDATE After pulling my tour due to vertigo and now with months of doctors HERES AN update.

"FIRST. Thank you for the outpouring of love and to every musician or crew member AND all my FRIENDs that checked on me I really appreciate you.

"I as you know suffered a blackout and vertigo weeks before tour and I've now seen several doctors several times and as they dial in the diagnosis and treatment I wanted to let you guys all know it's nothing that's gonna KILL ME since I've had every cat scan and test run you possibly can do Thankfully. That being said I'm under doctors supervision in fact writing to you now fresh out of the ear nose throat doc and thought I should check in ….

"Sorry for the silence but I've been really focusing on family and health at the moment. PLEASE FOLLOW @devildriver and @coalchamberofficial as announcements are coming I'm looking forward to hitting the road hard with both bands next year as well as New music is coming ! ..please like and comment so I can get back in your algorithm. Have a Happy Halloween. For more personal looks into the Fafara Family follow my wife and mgmt @mrsfafara. Sincerely DEZ".

Last year, COAL CHAMBER completed a U.S. tour as the support act for MUDVAYNE. Additional support on the 26-city "The Psychotherapy Sessions" tour, which was produced by Live Nation, came from GWAR, NONPOINT and BUTCHER BABIES.

COAL CHAMBER played its first two shows in eight years at the Sick New World festival in Las Vegas in May 2023 and at the Inkcarceration Music And Tattoo Festival in Mansfield, Ohio in July 2023.

On August 16, a week before COAL CHAMBER's "Fiend For The Fans" U.S. tour was scheduled to start, Fafara released the following statement via social media: "With a heavy heart, let me tell you a story about life taking a turn, I'm writing to you from my bed.

"I've been running 6 miles daily, I've been rehearsing two hours daily in my home studio and excited to hit the road, I'm excited to get on a bus with my brothers and sister and my crew. I' d never felt better and as you all know, I fought back hard after long haul Covid tried to kill me.

"Saturday morning I woke up and I was coming up my stairs. I saw flashes in my eyes. I passed out and my wife revived me. My vitals were through the roof, and I was sheet white and vomiting, and the whole world was spinning. [My wife] Anahstasia called 911. I ended up in the back of an ambulance and did nine hours in the ER testing all my vitals including taking X-rays of my heart and lungs. My doctor has advised me to get a CAT scan, and until further testing, I am on bedrest and must postpone the tour. Our agent sprung into action to rebook this tour for March 2025, and until we can figure out what the fuck medically is happening. We will see you in March 2025 on the 'Fiend For The Fans Tour'.

"This tour postponement is surreal, I was looking forward to playing with my band and connecting with fans, friends and family on the road.

"I want to take a moment to thank everybody for their outpouring of love and outpouring of calls and texts checking on me. It seems like the word spread and the whole industry has been ringing my phone since Sunday; musicians, agents and managers and I really really appreciate it. My band has been amazingly understanding and call me hourly - I thank them immensely for their caring nature.

"Kiss your loved ones, no one is promised tomorrow. I'll fight my way back to be with you all onstage you can be sure of that as well I'll keep you all updated on my socials as to what's going on.

"Apologies if this news causes you to rearrange your schedules to attend the concert with us and I want to say thank you in advance. We are all truly in the dark and I'm looking forward to finding out what's going on. HAIL."

COAL CHAMBER drummer Mikey Cox said: "After hearing the shocking news of our brother, we collectively had to make some tough decisions as a family. We discussed every possible scenario and it all lead back making sure Dez's health was the number 1 priority. In order for us to be 100% we need to take this extra time to allow him to make a full recovery so we can bring you the shows that you deserve!! We look forward to seeing you all in March 2025!!"

Today, House Of Lords premier the brand-new video for the title track of their latest album, Full Tilt Overdrive. The video showcases the hard-hitting energy and classic sound that fans have come to love, capturing the essence of the band’s signature style.

This release follows the recent drop of Full Tilt Overdrive, the band's twelfth studio album via Frontiers Music Srl. Produced by vocalist James Christian and keyboardist Mark Mangold, the album delivers an inspired collection that proudly stands among the best in the band’s repertoire. With plans to bring these new songs to stages across Europe and the States, House Of Lords continues to be a driving force in the hard rock scene.

On the video release for "Full Tilt Overdrive", the band comments: "This song is about playin' at maximum energy. Don’t drive while listening!!!"

This is the same lineup that appeared on the previous album Saints And Sinners. however they are now definitely more gelled and have produced a more focused and extremely ambitious new album with no weak points.

House Of Lords stands for superb hooks and majestic atmospheres that bring back the memories of their stellar debut album, monumental guitar riffs, and a production to die for. All these ingredients you will find in abundance on Full Tilt Overdrive, especially with songs such as the 9-minute epic closer “Castles High” and the lead single “Bad Karma”, not forgetting “Taking the Fall” which has a nod to the band’s biggest hit “Can’t Find My Way Home” and the riveting title track.

House Of Lords debuted in 1989 with the release of their self-titled album, a record that is still regarded as one of the best arena rock releases of the 1980s. The colossal sound, the soaring vocals of Christian, and the instrumental capabilities of the band (which featured ex-Angel and Giuffria keyboardist Gregg Giuffria, along with luminaries Lanny Cordola, Chuck Wright, and Ken Mary), were reminiscent of such frontrunners as Whitesnake, Deep Purple and Van Halen and immediately brought the band to the attention of the mainstream music media and the masses of '80s hard rock fans.

With their sophomore release, Sahara, House Of Lords had considerable radio and video chart success with their cover of Blind Faith's "Can't Find My Way Home." After a tour with Nelson in 1991, the group disbanded, eventually coming back together with a new lineup (featuring original members Giuffria and Christian) in 1992 with Demon's Down. With the change in musical climate at the time, House Of Lords hibernated until the original lineup came back together in 2000, releasing the controversial Power And The Myth

Canada’s RED CAIN Releases Reimagined Version Of “Demons”

Canada’s RED CAIN Releases Reimagined Version Of “Demons”

Power prog storytellers Red Cain have unleashed a reimagined goth rock version of their track "Demons" from their 2020 album Kindred: Act II. The track has been djentified, revocalized, injected with bigger drums, and metalized.

Vocalist Evgeniy Zayarny elaborates on "Demons II":

"Stand with your demons and own them. A lethal and heavy encounter with your demons awaits you in the succinctly titled ‘Demons II' - Red Cain's reimagining of their 2021 goth rock hit. With all-new, heavier, djentier guitars, revised drums, and vocal performance to die for, this is a quintessential Halloween headbanger.

“We are all defined by our battles with our demons - each of us fighting our own private war every day to remain ourselves and wrest control of this sense of self from the things that afflict us, drag us down, attempt to change us, and bring us into discomfort and malcontent.

This lurid tale of a deadly dance with your demons captures that struggle, yet ultimately carries a message of acceptance and control of one's own flaws and imperfections, and an elevation of these into pure strength."

Earlier this year, Red Cain also shared "Firestarter", the first single of 2024 that is loosely based on the lore of the action role-playing game "Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree". The band spent a lot of their time this year playing this fantastic release. Elden Ring is not only a brilliant game and a visual masterpiece, but also a storytelling phenomenon that deliberately has lore gaps to let fans and players create their own stories and interpretations of the lore. This strongly resonates with Red Cain's approach as musicians, as they always write music for their fans to read in unique ways and weave into their mythology.

"Firestarter" is also a new statement for Red Cain, as they continue to embrace a modern sound and reinvent their songwriting. You will hear a lot more groove and synth backing on this one, along with the same anthemic hooks, technical riffs, and vocal layering they are known for.

GEOFF TATE Is Working On 'Operation: Mindcrime III': Some Of The Songs Are 'Super Heavy' And 'Incredibly Technical'

GEOFF TATE Is Working On 'Operation: Mindcrime III': Some Of The Songs Are 'Super Heavy' And 'Incredibly Technical'

Former QUEENSRŸCHE singer Geoff Tate has revealed that he is working on the third and final chapter in the band's classic "Operation: Mindcrime" album series.

Originally released in May 1988, QUEENSRŸCHE's third studio album, "Operation: Mindcrime" took the quintet to an entirely new level. The concept, revealed through the songs, revolves around the character of Nikki, a recovering drug addict disillusioned with a corrupt society. Drawn into a cult-like revolutionary group headed by Dr. X (voiced by the late and beloved British actor Anthony Valentine),Nikki is manipulated to assassinate political leaders until his friendship with nun Sister Mary finally opens his eyes to the truth. Regarded as one of the greatest concept metal albums of all time, "Operation: Mindcrime" was certified platinum in 1991 in the U.S. and was ranked in the "Top 100 Metal Albums Of All Time" by both Kerrang! and Billboard magazines. Rolling Stone included it on a similar list, noting that "nearly 30 years after its initial release, 'Mindcrime' feels eerily relevant."

The original "Operation: Mindcrime" album weaved themes of religion, drug abuse and underground, radical politics. By contrast, 2006's "Operation: Mindcrime II" was regarded as an unnecessary sequel that many felt cheapened the original album, despite being a decent record in its own right.

Tate discussed his plans for "Operation: Mindcrime III" in a new interview with "Rock Of Nations With Dave Kinchen And Shane McEachern". Speaking about the musical direction of his new solo material, Geoff said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "I would say it has more of an early QUEENSRŸCHE feel. [The new songs are] super heavy, and some of 'em are incredibly technical. They're like algebra. [Laughs] You need a calculator when you're listening to the song. [Laughs] And, of course, some of them are very emotional. It's the last chapter in the 'Mindcrime' series. So it's following the exploits of Dr. X and Nikki and Sister Mary, and picks up at a particular point in their story and kind of does the microscope of what is happening at that particular time with them. And I am just in love with it. I am so happy with everything so far, and I can't wait for people to hear it."

Asked if there will once again be "some of those political interplays" within the lyrical themes on "Operation: Mindcrime III", Tate said: "Oh, I think so. Yeah, I think that people will be able to detect little bits of what's happening around them. And it's an interesting time right now — very interesting. Especially next week [after the 2024 U.S. presidential election], it's gonna be really interesting [laughs] what happens. So, we'll see."

Pressed about whether "a familiar voice" will play Dr. X on "Operation: Mindcrime III", Geoff said: "I can't tell you, actually. But thanks for asking. [Laughs]"

In a 2016 interview with East Valley Tribune, Tate said that he looked back fondly on "Operation: Mindcrime II". "I haven't listened to that album since I recorded it," he admitted. "However, it was a new story. Overall, it went down well live with the audience. I have no complaints or regrets about it."

During QUEENSRŸCHE's 2012 legal battle with Tate over the rights to the band's name, guitarist Michael Wilton submitted a sworn declaration in which he said the idea to make "Operation: Mindcrime II" was first brought to the table by Geoff's wife and QUEENSRŸCHE's then-manager Susan Tate. "The band was hesitant and did not want to lessen the original," the guitarist claimed. "But Susan Tate and Geoff Tate hired a budget producer and took control without really any other input. Scott Rockenfield [drums], Eddie Jackson [bass] and I were squeezed out of having any input in the musical direction or business decisions, thus the project suffered. During the initial writing phase, I would show up to bring my input to the creative process only to find that the producer, the new guitar player (who were both staying with the Tates at the time),along with Geoff Tate had been up late the night before or up early that morning and had written the songs without me. I was then told my ideas were not needed as the songs were now done. I could, however, 'bring my own style' in during the recording after learning to play what they wrote for me. In frustration, I gave up on the writing process knowing that I would at least get to make changes in the studio to bring back the QUEENSRŸCHE sound into these songs that we were known for. The final straw was when they refused to let me to be a part of the final recordings and mixes. I was shut out and they had the nerve to replace some of my parts on my songs. They denied me flying to San Francisco to be a part of my band, telling me that everything was ready to go and I was not needed. Had the communication been better, and had I been aware that parts needed to be recorded or rewritten, I would have been there. It was not until years later that I even became aware of the issues during the final recording and mixing of 'Operation: Mindcrime II'. It was all under the control of Geoff and Susan Tate. Call it delusions of grandeur, but they were convinced that this was going to sell three times more than the original, and to date (six years later) this album has sold fewer than 150,000 copies. The original album sold over 500,000 copies within a year."

In April 2014, Tate and QUEENSRŸCHE announced that a settlement had been reached after a nearly two-year legal battle where the singer sued over the rights to the QUEENSRŸCHE name after being fired in 2012. Wilton, Rockenfield and Jackson responded with a countersuit. The settlement included an agreement that Wilton, Rockenfield and Jackson would continue as QUEENSRŸCHE, while Tate would have the sole right to perform "Operation: Mindcrime" and "Operation: Mindcrime II" in their entirety live.

Tate's replacement, Todd La Torre, has released four albums thus far with QUEENSRŸCHE: 2013's "Queensrÿche", 2015's "Condition Hüman", 2019's "The Verdict" and 2022's "Digital Noise Alliance".

The band also performed in Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver alongside their highly praised appearance at California's Power Trip festival in October 2023 which had Consequence stating: "IRON MAIDEN set the bar high at Power Trip" and The Desert Sun saying "IRON MAIDEN didn't disappoint and delivered a hard-hitting performance to open the festival on a high note." There's nothing in the works at the moment. But that's not to say there won't be. Bruce [Dickinson, IRON MAIDEN singer] has only just done his solo tour. So he spent quite a long time just doing that. So, I don't know. Yeah. I mean, maybe we'll find time to cram [a new album] in somewhere. You never know."

MAIDEN's latest album, "Senjutsu", was released in September 2021 via BMG. The band's first LP in six years was recorded in 2019 in Paris with longstanding producer Kevin Shirley and co-produced by Harris. It features three tracks whose running time exceeds 10 minutes each.

For "Senjutsu" — loosely translated as "tactics and strategy" — the band once again enlisted the services of Mark Wilkinson to create the spectacular Samurai-themed cover artwork, based on an idea by Harris.

In the U.S., "Senjutsu" bowed at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart, charting higher than even the band's early classics like "Powerslave" and "The Number Of The Beast". Nearly 90 percent of the LP's 64,000 equivalent album units earned came from pure album sales. The critically acclaimed double album debuted one place higher than 2015's "The Book Of Souls" and 2010's "The Final Frontier", which both peaked at No. 4.

"Senjutsu" was MAIDEN's 13th album to top in the Top 40 in the U.S.

According to Billboard, "Senjutsu" logged the second-largest week of 2021 for a hard rock album in both equivalent album units earned and in traditional album sales.

"Senjutsu" topped the charts in several European countries upon its release, including in Belgium, Finland, Germany, Italy, Sweden and Switzerland.

In September, IRON MAIDEN announced the "Run For Your Lives" world tour, which will launch on May 27, 2025 in Budapest, Hungary, followed by 27 stadium, festival and arena shows around Europe. The tour marks 50 years since Steve Harris formed the band in late 1975 and, to celebrate this, MAIDEN fans are promised a very special setlist, spanning the nine studio albums from "Iron Maiden" to "Fear Of The Dark", with their most spectacular and elaborate show ever. The tour includes five shows in the U.K. and Ireland, with arenas in Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow, and outdoor shows in Dublin and London. So it is with immense pride that IRON MAIDEN will celebrate their 50th anniversary with one of the most notable concerts in their history.

On Saturday, June 28, 2025, MAIDEN will perform at the London Stadium, home of West Ham Football Club — the team that band founder Steve Harris has supported throughout his life, and with whom IRON MAIDEN have a long and storied history. This concert in front of over 60,000 fans at the London Stadium, which was constructed in Stratford for the 2012 Olympics and four years later became the new home of West Ham, will be the first time that IRON MAIDEN have performed on the club's hallowed turf. A true homecoming show — with Steve Harris, Dave Murray, Adrian Smith and Nicko McBrain all born in the surrounding area — it will also be the biggest U.K. venue the band have ever headlined outside of their festival appearances.

Having been established in 1975 in the East End of London, IRON MAIDEN have, over the course of 17 studio albums, more than 110 million records sold and some of the greatest world tours that music has ever witnessed, become one of the greatest and most influential British rock bands of all time. Yet despite their enormous success, they have remained down to earth and true to their roots throughout their career.

The final leg of "The Future Past" tour started in September in Australia and New Zealand and continued through Japan before hitting Canada, United States, Mexico, Colombia, Chile and Argentina and concluding in Sao Paulo, Brazil with two concerts at the huge Allianz Parque Stadium in December.

ERIK GRÖNWALL Spins The Wheel Of ForTunes, Writes "A Southern Rock Halloween Song About Scream" (Video)

Former Skid Row frontman Erik Grönwall has shared a new Wheel Of ForTunes video. Check it out below.

Erik: "Wheel of forTUNES: I spin a prize wheel to randomly select a music genre and a theme. I then write and record a new song in that genre on the spot."

Live In London, Skid Row's first official live album and concert film in a 35+ year career, is now available on heavyweight 2LP gatefold, CD + DVD, digital download and all streaming services via earMUSIC.

"Youth Gone Wild" is the latest video from the full program, and captures the rapture of a sold out 02 Forum Kentish Town London gone wild for the Skids and the culmination of a dream years in the making.

"As teens, we dreamt of playing places like the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ and CBGB in New York City... our dreams became bigger with London, England at the forefront. We fantasized one day to headline a show in the very city where so many of our favorite bands came from," the band says.

Following the release of their critically acclaimed, hugely fan-embraced 2022 album The Gang's All Here, the band took the 02 stage on October 22 and delivered a Skid Row set for the ages. Running through their multi-platinum career, the packed venue could barely contain the band's and the fans’ energy on "18 And Life," "Monkey Business," "I Remember You" and so many other peak Skid Row moments.

Live In London is a defining live rock album... a band playing at the top of their game in front of a crowd that expected no less. Both Skid Row and the 02 public went far beyond expectations...and now the world can share in that moment.

DEATH SS To Release New Album In 2025, "Dr. Jeckyll & Sister Hyde" Video Teaser Available

DEATH SS To Release New Album In 2025, "Dr. Jeckyll & Sister Hyde" Video Teaser Available

Italy’s cult heavy rock band, Death SS, will release their new studio album, The Entity, early next year. The concept album was produced by mastermind and frontman, Steve Sylvester, along with the English Grammy winner producer, Tom Dalgety (Rammstein, Ghost, The Cult).

The literary inspirations of the 12-song opus range from Aleister Crowley, who seeks to liberate man by awakening his artistic genius, to the characters of writers James Hogg and Robert Louis Stevenson, who explore the dark side of mankind. It also includes figures such as Jack the Ripper, Walter Sickert, Cemetery and others, ultimately linking to the band's history.

The album will be preceded by four digital singles, released not only digitally but also as 12" Limited Deluxe version.

The first single, "Dr. Jeckyll & Sister Hyde", is a powerful dark metal song in pure Death SS style, which ironically quotes the 1971 Hammer Production film of the same name. As in the film and the song's amusing promotional video clip, the story is set in late 19th century London, where Dr. Jekyll, the famous character from gothic fiction created by the writer Robert Louis Stevenson, gives life to his evil alter-ego Hyde, who however in this case is a woman.

Pre-order "Dr. Jeckyll & Sister Hyde" here.

The 12" Limited Deluxe edition will feature a special shaped cover with transparent red smoke-effect vinyl and will contain the first of the four-part booklet with the full story behind the concept The Entity, along with two other tracks on Side B, "Ave Adonai" and "Possession", which are included on the new album as well.
