Doom metal band MNRVA have released a video for their song "Not The One". The track is taken from their album Hollow, which came out last year via Black Doomba Records. A vinyl version is set to be released on April 7th, 2023 with pre-orders starting on March 17th, 2023.
The band comments: "'Not The One' is a mid-tempo, sludgy track with a psychedelic intro, catchy vocal hooks, and in-the-pocket grooves. We filmed the video at filmmaker Chris Bickel's compound on a sweltering Saturday in June. Columbia, SC's city motto is 'famously hot' and we were all pretty much at our limit, even with constant hydration and industrial fans, which set the perfect scene for a song about burning it all down. The hottest part of the day was actually well after sunset, when the director had us improvise some around-the-bonfire scenes. The fire burned so intensely hot and fast that we had to act quickly. Kevin is a natural at spontaneous invention, and dark mystery."
MNRVA venture further into the descending darkness with their debut full-length, Hollow. Conjuring gloomy atmospheres with funereal doom and fuzz tones, the heavy trio are unafraid to unveil what’s lurking in the shadows.
Forming in 2018, MNRVA made their debut with the EP Black Sky, giving fans a tantalising taste of their unconventional sludge fuelled doom sound. Hollow builds further on their exploration of heavy music with groove-laden riffs, mid-slow tempo tracks and vocals which range between soaring melodies and those of guttural demons .
“Not The One” introduces the new album with ludicrously overdriven instruments, impactful percussion and vocals that appear to be reaching out of the abyss. The title track falls further into the gloom evoking an intense dark mood. Melodic motifs and riffs punctuate the black with an experimental twist, adding something extra to the sound without breaking the nightmarish illusion. “The Way” concludes the album with the wrath of the void, fusing the sinister and sombre.
Hollow is a melting pot of sludge drawing upon the guitar grind of Melvins, the vocal interplay of Mastodon, and the post-doom heaviness of Wisconsin’s Bereft. Embracing their influences while cultivating their own distinctive edge, MNRVA manipulate these dynamic musical elements to manifest an enticing atmosphere.

AVENGED SEVENFOLD has released "Nobody", the band's first new single since 2016. The triumphant track and its accompanying stop-motion video offer the first taste of the Huntington Beach, California band's forthcoming eighth album, "Life Is But a Dream..." , which drops June 2. Watch the "Nobody" video directed by award-winning director Chris Hopewell below.
AVENGED SEVENFOLD will support the release with two massive live shows this summer, at Kia Forum on June 9 and Madison Square Garden on June 23. Tickets go on sale this Friday, March 17. The newly announced arena concerts mark AVENGED SEVENFOLD's first proper New York City on-sale appearance since 2007 and their first Los Angeles County headline on sale since 2009.
"Nobody", the band’s first official music release since their 2016 album "The Stage", delivers nearly six minutes of tension, groove, and dynamics. The song twists and turns beyond conventional songwriting and leans in on discomfort before letting go. The beautifully crafted stop-motion music video, which unfolds like a short film, is a stunning and powerful journey exploring the dichotomy between life and death, love and war, and follows the main character through an existential crisis. Stop motion is a handmade labor of love, often taking 90 minutes just to capture only two seconds of footage.
Prior to the track's release, the band launched an elaborate and mysterious digital scavenger hunt with puzzles, ciphers, images, and blog posts all written by Chat GPT, DALL-E 2, and AI voice modifiers. What was initiated as a cryptic hacker campaign on socials, eventually lead fans to a web site full of challenges to complete over the past two weeks that ultimately lead to the single being "unlocked" for release today.
The sprawling sound of "Nobody" is reflective of "Life Is But A Dream..." . Written and recorded over the span of four years, "Life Is But a Dream..." was inspired by the writing and philosophy of Albert Camus. Accordingly, the lyrics are rooted in existentialism and absurdism. Always on the cutting edge of music and technology, AVENGED SEVENFOLD has partnered with Berify to include an NFC tag with bonus content on all CDs, vinyl, cassettes and official merchandise sold on A7XWorld.com. Additionally, the cover art and packaging are by renowned artist Wes Lang. Bold and multi-layered, the band’s new album promises to be their most daring.
To date, AVENGED SEVENFOLD has sold over 10 million albums worldwide and earned two consecutive No. 1 albums on Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart (2010's "Nightmare" and 2013's "Hail To The King") to go along with over a billion video views and a billion-plus Spotify streams, as well as multiple No. 1 singles on rock radio. The band is equally known for their spectacular live shows, selling out arenas and headlining the world's most prestigious rock festivals.

Babylon A.D. is back. The band has announced the new live concert recording, Live Lightning from Perris Records, to be released on March 17. The new album includes their top-ten rock-radio classic hits “Hammer Swings Down”, “Kid Goes Wild", and “Bang Go The Bells” from their debut release, their hit “Bad Blood” from the Nothing Sacred album, and songs from their studio albums American Blitzkrieg, The Lost Sessions and their last release Revelation Highway are all featured.
Served up as an appetizer is the video for “Kid Goes Wild":
The fourteen hard rocking tracks on Live Lightning showcase the high-energy, powerful live performances that Babylon A.D. is renowned for and the band plans on hitting the road in support of the new album.
Derek Davis, Babylon A.D. lead singer, "We are really excited about this release. The band's sound engineer recorded three of our shows and then we went about listening to all the tracks we had recorded. The best sounding tracks came from The Empress Theater in Vallejo CA and Swiss Park Music Hall in Newark CA. We had sixteen songs to choose from and we settled on fourteen. Every studio album we have released is represented so it’s a good mix of songs. It was really cool putting the final mixes together, hearing the songs fresh with a few the surprises and a few mistakes here and there kept it interesting and real.
“The band is booking shows now and plan to do a lot of dates this year and keep the energy we have alive. We can’t wait to start playing again, the only thing good that came out of the whole Covid lock down is the songwriting time we used. We are in the rehearsal stage for a new album and we have demos of fifteen songs already and plan to narrow that down to ten to twelve of the best tracks. We plan to release the new studio album early next year. Babylon A.D. is back! And we are ready to start a fire.”

Hailing from the cold mountains of Norway, Noxium Ferus is a diabolical horror act fronted by Espen Dyngen, a misanthropic hermit who has written lyrics for many well-known metal bands. The album is hard-hitting, old-school blackened death metal with a recognizable sound and style. The band's first offensive audio attack is the release of the single "Dickslapped By The Devil," featuring guest artist Jontho Panthera, Ragnarok drummer and leader. Noxium Ferus is completely uncompromising in its musical identity and content, presenting its audible horror show with offensive humor and strong anti-religious content.
Noxium Ferus is a band project created by sheer coincidence, and today, Espen is running the band together with his trusted right-hand, Torgeir 'Alvakien' Espedal, the new guitar player. Blasphemicon is a must-listen for fans of extreme metal, as Noxium Ferus brings the devil to your doorstep.
Blasphemicon is packed with horror and sonic torment, featuring artists having been involved with bands like Trelldom, Behemoth, Ragnarok, Belphegor, Natas, Massemord, SpitfireNorway, Nattverd, Chinbjer...and even an actor from the Valhalla Vikings show.
It is available via Wormholedeath Records on all digital platforms found here.

Sabaton guitarist / Majestica frontman Tommy Johansson has shared his weekly solo cover song and video, this time taking on ABBA's "One Of Us". The song is taken from the group's 1981 album, The Visitors.
In the Party Like A Rockstar Podcast clip below, Skid Row guitarist Dave "Snake" Sabo weighs in on Johansson's cover of the band's classic, "18 And Life". Go to the 2:17 mark for the beginning of the song.
Fantasy symphonic power metal band France's Avaland are sharing their next music video "Kingslayer" in support of their upcoming sophomore full-length The Legend Of The Storyteller due out on March 31st, 2023 via Rockshots Records to follow their 2021 debut Theater Of Sorcery.
The band comments:
"This one was directly felt as a potential single by the band. Lucas made incredible work on the guitars on this song. The riffs are groovy and the chorus is a real hook. And no, it’s not a song about Jamie Lannister haha! But the question, here, is: Where is the good? Where is the evil?"
In addition to the album's upcoming unveiling, the band will be supporting Rhapsody of Fire in the Netherlands and Belgium tour dates on March 10 and 11.
Compared to its predecessor, The Legend Of The Storyteller is heavier and is a much more epic power metal record full of anthems upon anthems for fans to chant to as they are taken on a journey over twelve theatric tracks. The record also hears double vocal duties from Adrien G. Gzagg and Jeff Kanji, along with album guests that include Zak Stevens (Savatage / TSO), Madie (Nightmare / Faith In Agony), Pierre “Cara” Carabalona (Eltharia), Ivan Castelli (Lionsoul), Angèle Macabiès, Jens Ludwig (Edguy) and Bruno Ramos (Sortilège / Manigance).
Lead by Adrien G. Gzagg (autor / composer / lead singer / synths and orchestrations), the album's storyline is aprequel to the band's first album Theater Of Sorcery, as he explains further:
"This album, as the first one, is a journey, a trip out of our world, into the universe of Avaland. We enjoy seeing Avaland as a great saga, as a movie, or series. We feel like listening to Avaland is like watching Game Of Thrones, The Lord Of The Rings, or reading comics, it’s an escape from everyday life. For this album, we took a lot of inspiration from Game Of Thrones and Arthurian Myths. We love fantasy and mythologies and we also find ourselves having a great fascination for alchemy and esoterism. Time is also a great subject, it's mystical… in fact, time will be at the center of this saga. This new opus is showing a heavier and darker atmosphere of Avaland’s theatrical universe. Are you ready to be part of The Legend Of The Storyteller?"

YouTube user Rattmaster86 has shared newly edited footage of Ratt performing live on June 15th, 2017 on the Back For More tour at Aura in Portland, Maine. Original members Stephen Pearcy (vocals), Warren DeMartini (guitars) and Juan Croucier (bass) were part of the line-up. Guitarist Carlos Cavazo and drummer Jimmy Degrasso filled out the band.
Rattmaster86: "This is a fan project I made for all you hardcore Ratt 'n' Rollers. It's from the 2017 tour, which was the last time Warren DeMartini was in the band. I started this project because I wanted to make use of a cool audio bootleg I had of this show. I thought it sounded pretty nice, so I checked to see if there was any footage of this gig on YouTube. Lucky for me there was, and enough to make it worth putting this project together. But unfortunately, two songs didn't have any existing video that I could find, so there's a few audio only parts. Either way, I think the project turned out pretty good, so hopefully you enjoy this show as much as I did making it."

Wintersun frontman / founder Jari Mäenpää has shared a new short instrumental track called "Warning". Get the track exclusively from Wintersun Bandcamp here.
Mäenpää: "It’s funny how some people claim that I’m a perfectionist and I should stop being a perfectionist, but those same people will be the first people in the comment section to bash the production when I release something that is far from perfect, but is still 'good enough' for me. So who’s the real perfectionists here?
To all the perfectionists out there, the 'Warning' release contains the Isolated Tracks! So please go ahead and use those and make the production perfect! Or make a cover of it, that is perfect. I would be absolutely glad to hear it and learn from you!"
The "Warning" release includes the track itself, as well as Dynamic Version, Orchestral Version, Drums (Isolated Track), Bass (Isolated Track), Rhythm Guitars (Isolated Track), and Orchestration (Isolated Track).
- The Dynamic Version is mastered 3.5 dB lower in volume than the official main "loud and aggressive" track. But if you turn the volume up, you might prefer this version as it has a little bit more "breathing room" and punch.
- The Orchestral Version is different than the Orchestration Isolated Track. The Orchestral Version includes added percussion and bass.
DEF LEPPARD's Rick Allen joined MÖTLEY CRÜE on stage last night (Sunday, March 12) to perform the song "Primal Scream" during CRÜE's set at Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida.
Allen shared the drumming duties for the song with MÖTLEY CRÜE's Tommy Lee, with the two musicians positioning their drum risers side by side for the performance, which was part of the two bands' "The World Tour".
During an appearance on a recent episode of the "Appetite For Distortion" podcast, Allen was asked to weigh in on MÖTLEY CRÜE guitarist Mick Mars's recent decision to no longer tour with the legendary rock act because of his long struggles with degenerative disease ankylosing spondylitis. Ankylosing spondylitis is a type of arthritis that causes inflammation in the spine joints and ligaments and can lead to stiffness over time, according to the National Institute Of Arthritis And Musculoskeletal And Skin Diseases.
Allen, who previously toured with Mars as part of DEF LEPPARD and MÖTLEY CRÜE's 2022 "The Stadium Tour", said: "It was Mick's decision to really move on and just get to the next part of his life. And we all know that Mick has suffered terribly, terribly with pain; you see it on his face all the time. And I think the only time I ever saw him truly in his element [was] when he was up on stage playing with the band. It was more his decision. That must have been a super hard decision. I mean, it would have been different if the guy was being thrown out of the band, but it wasn't like that at all. It was a personal choice that he made. And you can't say that that's wrong. It was right for him at the time.
"Over the months — well, actually years — that I've known him, I really started to talk to him," Rick continued. "So unassuming. Such a soft, gentle soul. And when I first met him years ago, I was actually quite afraid, you know. [Laughs] But he's the exact opposite of that — just a really sweet, generous person. So it must have been a very difficult decision for everybody to have to go through that."
The 71-year-old Mars — whose real name is Robert Alan Deal — served as MÖTLEY CRÜE's lead guitarist since the band's inception in 1981.
A day after Mick announced his retirement from touring last October, the remaining members — bassist Nikki Sixx, singer Vince Neil and drummer Tommy Lee — vowed to "continue the legacy." In a statement, they said: "While change is never easy, we accept Mick's decision to retire from the band due to the challenges with his health. We have watched Mick manage his Ankylosing Spondylitis for decades and he has always managed it with utmost courage and grace. To say 'enough is enough' is the ultimate act of courage. Mick's sound helped define MÖTLEY CRÜE from the minute he plugged in his guitar at our very first rehearsal together. The rest, as they say, is history. We'll continue to honor his musical legacy."
The statement continued: "We will carry out Mick's wish and continue to tour the world as planned in 2023. No doubt will it take an absolutely outstanding musician to fill Mick's shoes so we are grateful that our good friend, John 5 has agreed to come on board and join us moving forward. We'll see all you Crueheads out on the road!"
John 5 said: "I'm honored to carry on Mick's legacy and am looking forward to playing these songs."
In his statement, Mick said that he had decided to step back from live shows due to his "ongoing painful struggle" with ankylosing spondylitis and while he will continue to be a member of the band, he cannot "handle the rigors" of touring life.
The statement read: "Mick Mars, co-founder and lead guitarist of the heavy metal band MÖTLEY CRÜE for the past 41 years, has announced today that due to his ongoing painful struggle with Ankylosing Spondylitis, he will no longer be able to tour with the band. Mick will continue as a member of the band, but can no longer handle the rigors of the road. A.S. is an extremely painful and crippling degenerative disease, which affects the spine."
Italian prog/death metallers Wake Arkane have released a new music video for their second single: “Puppets Know The Tears”. It represents the band and its members in a bright and incredibly impactful way.
As in the previously released music video for first single – “The Eternal Return”, the main character is singer Mike Lunacy (former leader of the historical death metal band Dark Lunacy), who also plays the main character in the story told in their concept album.
The letters, also shown in the first single video, carry the prayers of men. Only Mr. Wake has in his hands the ability to realize or hijack their future.
As the materials of this immense record called Awakenings are released, the pieces of the puzzle of the concept will be completed, so that the audience will gradually immerse itself in the incredible story written by Mike Lunacy and narrated by Wake Arkane.
The video was produced, filmed and edited by Davide Rinaldi (also member of the band Dark Lunacy) at ISO-lation Studio and post produced by Daniele Acerbi.
It will be followed by several other singles in the next few months.
"Puppets Know The Tears" brings back the unique sound of Wake Arkane made of theatrical death metal filled with pathos. An energetic track full of drama and refined melodies.
The full-length album Awakenings was mastered by the Swedish musician and record producer Dan Swanö and will be released by the year 2023.
In the coming months and after an eight years hiatus, the band will start performing live again.
Time to kickstart your motorcycle and take a ride with Bad Bones and their next music video for the single "Wanderers & Saints" in support of their sixth album Hasta El Final! due out March 17, 2023 via Rockshots Records.
"Free, without rules, we abandon this society, to live on the margins, aware of the things we will miss, but proud of the choices made, an intro reminiscent of The Police, a song that flies away fast, light and powerful, perhaps the most "modern" song that Bad Bones have ever written," adds the band.
Influenced by NWOBHM to the LA street rock scene, Bad Bones was formed in 2007. The band has made a name for themselves with tours across Europe along with making the move from Italy to LA in 2009 to make a foothold in the USA until returning to their home country in 2010. Over the years, the band has consistently toured the USA and Europe with appearances at events such as the Hollywood Rock Convention, Italian Gods of Metal, and Metalitalia Festival along with supporting bands like Steel Panther, Hardcore Superstar, Crucified Barbara, Entombed, Gotthard, Crazy Lixx, Strana Officina and more.
A musical amalgamation of blues, punk, classic rock, and heavy metal, Bad Bones' latest offering "Hasta El Final!" is a powerful record, that shakes your bones and must be listened to in one go, in its entirety, just like taking a shot of whiskey, throw it down and then enjoy it while it warms your guts.
"The sound of the band has changed since the beginning, the first album Small-town Brawlers was very raw, it sounded almost punk in some ways, in 2012 when Max Malmerenda joined the band, who has an amazing and very melodic voice, a process had begun that led us to write albums more on the ‘80s hard rock side like Demolition Derby in 2016, today, with the return of Mekk we have found a more powerful sound and we have several songs that we could define as heavy metal. We want Hasta El Final! to hit you like a punch in the face, we had this in mind, make it compact and powerful, we didn't use samples, nor quantized/triggered fake drums, everything was played live, even the overdubs were kept to a minimum, and we wanted to keep the fierce spirit of our first albums," says the band.
Making uncompromising rock that is meant to be loud in volume and make ya sweat in the pit, Bad Bones give listeners classic old-school rock n' roll fun. Their lyrics reflect the things they see and hear, from memories, and life experiences, but also from movies or places they've been, there have many sources of inspiration that fans can clearly relate to.
“Grief Eclipse” is the new single from New Jersey-based melodic death metal trio, Voidscape. The video for the song, which appears on the band’s debut EP, Odyssey Of Spite, due March 31st through Nefarious Industries, can be seen below.
Formed in 2017, Voidscape delivers a strain of death metal that is catchy yet scathing. Having previously released a demo and a single, guitarist Rob Torres, drummer Justin "Ninja" Spaeth (Tombs, Abacinate), and frontman Michael Ximenez (Replicant, Windfaerer) now present their debut EP, Odyssey Of Spite.
Here, Voidscape administers bitter-sweet leads, monstrous riffs, and verses of human despair inflicted by viscous howls. Each composition is a melancholic journey rife with introspection and heaviness. The EP was engineered, mixed, and mastered by Rob Torres at his own Frightbox Recording in Passaic, and completed with artwork, photography, and layout by Mike Ximenez.
“The video was shot at the shore during the Winter, where everything seems abandoned and forgotten,” Ximenez states. “‘Grief Eclipse’ deals with falling into a life-sucking parasitic void and allowing it to obscure your identity. It’s about losing sight of yourself and in effect having negativity reign. Feelings of self-doubt, failure, and futility can consume you as you become their vessel. As often as you try to claw your way out or break free, you’re perpetually pulled back into the grip of darkness. The song itself has a smooth melody that carries through the piece creating a sort of mellow heavy contemplative vibe.”
The artwork and tracklisting for Odyssey Of Spite are as follows. Pre-orders can be placed now at this location.

"Grief Eclipse"
"Burden Of Breathing"
