Nightwish vocalist Floor Jansen has shared another cover song from her growing catalogue of solo performances. Check out her rendition of Lotte's "Mauern", which she recently performed for Germany's Sing Meinen Song.










In the FaceCulture clip below, Jansen talks about her experience on the show, which airs in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.





 Jansen will release her second official solo single on May 27th. The as-yet-untitled track is available for pre-save at this location.

According to Kamelot guitarist Thomas Youngblood, the band shot two videos last week for their as-yet-untitled forthcoming album. Additionally, keyboardist Oliver Palotai offered the following update:

Guitarist Scott McClellan picked up his first guitar at age nine and began composing music at age fourteen. Spending his formative years in Long Beach, California, where the streets were dirty and rife with trouble, McClellan found his salvation in music. After relocating to Illinois and becoming a dedicated tradesman, he spent twenty-five years in Pantera tribute bands (Cemetery Gatez, Domination), where he mastered the singing virtuosic guitar riffs of Dimebag Darrell. McClellan wields his soaring guitar lines like a knife in a bar fight, but he writes with the soul of a poet. For him, Vante’s debut album comes fresh on the heels of an album release with Black Sabbath’s Tony Martin titled ‘Thorns’ and the completion of ‘This is My War’ with Breed of Aggression.


Singer/ multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Brian Troch reaches deep into the eternal void and draws us in with him. Rich with meaning and heavy with the spirit of catharsis, Troch’s vocals promise to wake a sleeping generation from its deathly slumber. Joining Hammeron, Troch performed at the MTV Halloween Horror Show with Motley Crue at The Limelight in Chicago. Troch then joined Cyclone Temple and signed with Combat/ Relativity records, opening for Death Angel at Metal Fest in Milwaukee and touring with Napalm Death and Obituary. Leading the helm for Shooting Hemlock, his band played to capacity crowds where the singer found his groove, feeding on the pure electricity of the manic fans.


Bassist Rev Jones comes from Oklahoma’s Tornado Alley playing with the energy of a violent storm. Rev is known not only for his unconventional techniques, but also for the unforgettable visual experience that he brings to every performance. With his two-handed tapping style and over-the-neck fingering technique, he riffs like a madman both onstage and offstage. He has toured with Michael Schenker Group, Steelheart, Mountain, Fuel, Black Symphony, Rev Jones band and many other prestigious acts.


Drummer Jeff Tortora has a musical history with singer Brian Troch as both answered the call in 1996 to form Shooting Hemlock. Troch and Tortora reunited to record Vante’s self-titled debut album in 2021, their easy chemistry returned. Jeff Totora is right at home on the big stage as well as in the recording studio. In 2000 he was chosen to play with the mind-blowing, explosive Blue Man Group and he accepted this percussionist’s dream job to play to adoring crowds around the world and even at the Super Bowl halftime show. A true virtuoso, Tortora brings versatility, innovation and most of all, hard-hitting energy to all of his performances.


Percussion took root in drummer Chris Moore’s soul from an early age. Known as “Music’s Best Kept Secret”, Chris Moore has recorded with Ultraphonix (with Corey Glover of Living Colour) and Project Nfidelikah (with Angelo Moore of Fishbone). He has most recently played the role of an 80’s metal drummer for the Rock of Ages 10th Anniversary Tour.


Vante’s self-titled debut album will be out on Dark Star Records/Sony/Universal early June 2022.

Alan White, YES's much-loved drummer and friend of 50 years, has passed away, aged 72, after a short illness. He died peacefully at home.

Alan had been looking forward to YES's upcoming U.K. tour, to celebrating his 50th anniversary with the band and their iconic "Close To The Edge" album, where Alan's journey with YES began in July 1972.

White recently celebrated the 40th anniversary of his marriage to his loving wife Gigi.

Alan was born in 1949 in County Durham. A number of health setbacks, since 2016, had restricted Alan's time on stage with YES on recent tours with Jay Schellen filling in and Alan joining the band, to great applause, towards the end of each set.

Alan was considered to be one of the greatest rock drummers of all time and joined YES in 1972 for the "Close To The Edge" tour. He had previously worked with John Lennon's PLASTIC ONO band after a call, in 1969, to play at the Toronto Rock Festival. Alan continued working with Lennon including on the "Imagine" album and with George Harrison on "All Things Must Pass". He also worked with several other musicians, over the years, including Ginger Baker's AIR FORCE, Joe Cocker, Gary Wright, Doris Troy and Billy Preston, to name but a few. Alan White was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame as a member of YES in 2017.

YES will dedicate its 50th-anniversary "Close To The Edge" U.K. tour in June to White.

Formed in 1968 by Jon Anderson and the late and much-missed Chris Squire, YES has been one of the most innovative, influential and best-loved bands in rock music history. Their 1970s albums "The Yes Album", "Fragile", "Close To The Edge", "Yessongs" (a triple live album set),"Tales From Topographic Oceans", "Relayer" and "Going For The One" were ground-breaking in musical style and content. Their music also became synonymous with artist Roger Dean, whose distinctive YES logo design and artwork adorned the lavish gatefold presentation sleeves of many YES albums.

With sales of over 50 million records, the Grammy Award-winning YES was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2017, where they performed "Roundabout" from the album "Fragile" and the FM radio-friendly "Owner Of A Lonely Heart" from the 1985 album "90125".

In 2021, YES released its 22nd studio album, "The Quest", produced by Steve Howe, which went to No. 1 in the U.K. rock chart and entered the official U.K. album chart at No. 20.

Paul Stanley says that "mental illness" isn't the reason mass shootings are disproportionately common in the United States Of America when compared to similar countries around the world.

The 70-year-old KISS frontman made his comments in the wake of Tuesday's mass shooting in a Uvalde, Texas elementary school which resulted in the deaths of at least 19 children and two adults.

On Wednesday, Stanley took to his Twitter to write: "Please Explain… We are the only country on earth that endures frequent mass shootings. It can't be a matter of mental illness since every country has that as a factor. The founding fathers referred to rifles with muskets and single shot revolvers, not automatic weapons whose purpose is only to decimate. If guns have been updated, shouldn't we update the laws governing them? I'm asking for thoughts and opinions, not rudeness or stupidity."

Earlier today, Paul added: "Discussions like these need to happen but the analogies of cars etc. killing people are poor ones. The types of weapons that are being questioned were designed SPECIFICALLY to kill in large numbers and inflict irreparable destruction to the human body. Cars? Rocks? SPOONS?? No."

Two days ago, Democratic U.S. Senator Chris Murphy implored his colleagues to act to combat gun violence hours, dismissing a common Republican argument that we need to do a better job with mental health.

"Spare me the bullshit about mental illness," Murphy said. "We don't have any more mental illness than any other country in the world. You cannot explain this through a prism of mental illness because we're not an outlier on mental illness. ... We're an outlier when it comes to access to firearms and the ability of criminals and very sick people to get their arms on firearms. That's what makes America different."

Tuesday's massacre came only 10 days after an 18-year-old gunman in body armor killed 10 shoppers and workers at a supermarket in a predominantly black area of Buffalo, New York.

According to CNN, the number of U.S. deaths from gun violence in 2019 was about 4 per 100,000 people. That's 18 times the average rate in other developed countries. Multiple studies show access to guns contributes to higher firearm-related homicide rates.

The United States has already seen more than 200 mass shootings in 2022, according to the Gun Violence Archive.

Between 1966 and 2019, 77% of all mass shooters in the U.S. used weapons they had obtained through legal purchases, according to a survey compiled by the National Institute of Justice.

Various studies have shown that more gun control will result in fewer gun deaths. After a mass shooting that killed 35 people in 1996, Australia imposed strict gun ownership measures and outright bans on semi-automatic and automatic weapons. Since the laws were passed, there has been only one mass shooting, a case in which a grandfather killed family members and then himself.

Gun laws are far stricter in other countries. In Germany, anyone under the age of 25 who wants to buy a gun needs to undergo a psychiatric evaluation, while In Japan, owning a handgun is illegal for private citizens.

The majority of Americans support stricter gun laws, especially in the aftermath of deadly school shootings.

Ted Nugent has spoken out against calls for lawmakers to pass legislation designed to reduce gun violence, saying such bills largely target law-abiding gun owners and wouldn't curb violent crime or stem the illegal transport of guns from other states.

The 73-year-old, who recently resigned from the board of the National Rifle Association (NRA) after 26 years, made his comments in the wake of Tuesday's mass shooting in a Uvalde, Texas elementary school which resulted in the deaths of at least 19 children and two adults.

In his YouTube livestream on Tuesday, Ted condemned the massacre in Texas but joined other Republicans and conservative commentators who say the country has to address mental health issues.

"We are gonna absolutely condemn the evil, Satanic, demonic soullessness of a monster who would slaughter innocent children," Nugent said in part (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).

"And to those who think that we need more gun control, who could possibly be so heartless and stupid to think that someone committed to murdering innocent lives would give a rat's ass about another gun restriction, President Biden? How heartless. How soulless. How cruel. How dishonest."

Ted went on to cite Mexico's strict gun laws as an example of a situation where law-abiding citizens are defenseless. "Gun-free zones are the dream of evil people," Nugent said.

Addressing the suspect in Tuesday's massacre — a local high school student who officials said legally purchased two assault rifles and scores of ammo last week for his 18th birthday — Nugent said: "Now, we don't know all the horrific details of the Uvalde slaughter today. I happen to know what weapon it was and what caliber and I've been given a timeline of how it unfolded.

"I'm not gonna presume that this evil man was on the radar, though in every other instance they were on the radar and nobody did anything.

"Yeah, you have First Amendment rights, but when you say, 'I'm going to be a mass shooter and kill as many people as I can,' and if you're on record saying that, you need to be put in a cage under surveillance.' 'Well, I haven't done anything yet.' He's threatened to kill people."

As for what we can do to make it less likely that these kinds of tragedies happen again, Ted said: "Let your elected employees know that you're fed up with the division and that we want the basics for a safe and secure country: law and order, freedom, good over evil, self-defense. And we'd better going to arm teachers and train them and have real security in our schools. These children are the greatest responsibility we have and we have to keep them safe."

In March 2021, Nugent threatened President Joe Biden and other Democrats, telling them to "come and take it" just hours before the House of Representatives passed two gun-safety bills.

In a March 11, 2021 Facebook post, Nugent addressed Biden and "all you other oath violating traitors," writing, "Google my address and itinerary and Come and Take It!" He also proclaimed, "If you want to play Concorde bridge again, you will be the British and I will be the Americans, again."

Last August, Nugent defended his right to bear arms under the Second Amendment, arguing that he "got it from God." The musician discussed his natural-born rights as an American while talking to Tucker Carlson for the newest episode of Fox Nation's "Tucker Carlson Today".

"I was born with the right to keep and bear arms. I was born with the right to speak up. I was born with the right to privacy from my government intrusion without just cause. I was born with that," Ted said. "I could come here naked without any Constitution and I know I could say what I want to say. I don't have to get the king's permission.

"Kings, emperors, tyrants, kiss my ass," he continued. "We are a self-government. We are in charge, we hire people to represent us based on these self-evident truths. And if you infringe on them, we will fire your ass and don't make us arrest you."

Nugent went on to say that the purpose of the Second Amendment is to protect the nation from tyranny.

"[The Second Amendment] says any rights here that are not numerated are up to the states. It's here and enumerated," he said. "It's written down, I can keep bear arms in America, in every building, on every street corner, wherever I want. I got it from God. The Founding Fathers just happened to write it down in case somebody wanted to play king."

In a July 29, 2021 e-mail from NRA general counsel John Frazer sent to board members, it was announced that Nugent, who joined the board in 1995, was stepping down "due to ongoing schedule conflicts."

Ted's decision to leave the board came less than a year after he told Newsmax's "The Chris Salcedo Show" that the National Rifle Association was "he most important civil rights organization in the world."

Last July, Nugent blamed the rise in violent crime and gun violence in America on recidivism, a measure of convicted criminals who commit another offense and re-enter prison. "There isn't a gun problem in America," he insisted. "There is an intentional engineered recidivism problem in America. You wanna stop ninety-six percent of the violent crimes. Don't let 'em out."

Swedish heavy/power metal masters, Tad Morose, are ready to come back with a new album. The new LP is called March Of The Obsequious, and it comes out four years after the last effort, Chapter X. The 10-song album will be released digitally on August 26 and on CD/vinyl on September 16 via GMR Music Group.





March Of The Obsequious follows the same path as their three recent releases, albeit with a small nod to the sound of 80s and 90s without sounding less fresh and modern. For this album, the band brought in Andreas Silén (ex-Lack Of Faith & Propane Headrush) to co-handle the guitars alongside Christer “Krunt” Andersson, as well as Johan Löfgren on bass.




The album was recorded & mixed at Studio Claustrophobic by Ronny Hemlin & Johan Löfgren and mastered by Jonas Kjellgren at Black Lounge.


Some words from Christer “Krunt” Andersson about the new album: “All the 10 new songs are very much Tad Morose Metal, lots of variations and some weird stuff. I recorded my guitars in my own studio and the rest is recorded and mixed at Studio Claustrophobic by Ronny and Johan. They did a great job as always! So almost everything on this album is done by ourselves, writing, recording and mixing. Peter did the artwork and layout for the album cover. Northern California death metal outfit Greybush have unveiled the music video for their new single, "Civil Unrest". The heavy-hitting track is the second song released from the band's new EP This Is Punishment, which is out today. 


Speaking about their new single "Civil Unrest", Greybush comments: "The murder of George Floyd is part of a long history of police violence against black people. Racism and white supremacy culture must be torn out at the root. We've always had a bit of disdain against authority and seeing it abused in this way is awful. Writing a song is the only platform we have without being ostentatious. We stand with those fighting state-sanctioned violence and commit to being part of the solution."

TWISTED SISTER frontman Dee Snider says that he doesn't think he will play any more live shows.

The 67-year-old singer addressed the possibility of returning to the stage while answering a fan question on Twitter about performing in the Springfield, Illinois area in the future. Snider wrote on May 17: "I am Dee Downer tonight. No, I don't tour anymore. I don't even think I'll do any more shows. I'm focusing on writing, directing and producing. Sorry man."

When one fan responded, "You've said this before... I believe nothing!", Dee countered with: "Well TWISTED SISTER hasn't reunited..." Another fan then wrote, "Yet…?", to which Snider replied: "I wouldn't hold your breath. @TwistedSisterNY promised ourselves we wouldn't be like every other band, doing a farewell, then coming back. We always considered that a bullshit, pussy move.... Yeah, you know who I'm talking about (every artist who pulled that shit)."

He later added in a separate tweet: "To further expound...I don't think any band should retire unless they want to. Stay forever; your fans don't want you to go. But don't say farewell, sell us the higher priced ticket, the goodbye program, and the 'No More Tours' t-shirt...then come back a couple of years later!"

Dee previously touched upon the topic of bands who come out of retirement for a new tour, such as MÖTLEY CRÜE and RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, during a 2020 interview with Ultimate Guitar. At the time, he said: "I think it's bullshit. When you say farewell... RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE breaks up — that's not retirement. They broke up, and they reformed, and that's great. But when you do a farewell tour, and you announce this, and you sell tickets, and you have a t-shirt that says 'No More Tours' — thank you very much, Ozzy [Osbourne], I bought one of those — and then you come back, that's bullshit. So when you say, 'We're retiring,' people now don't take it seriously. So, you know, it's like a joke, and I think that a part of it is that these artists have nothing else going on. And I realize that — without playing, they have no career."

In March 2020, Dee told SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk" that he had "no plans" to perform with TWISTED SISTER ever again. "I've heard people [talk about it], and I just shrug my shoulders," he said. "The idea of being a hundred on that stage terrifies me.

"I created a persona and a performance level for myself that I painted myself into a corner," he continued. "And there's a standard that people expect and that I expect of myself. And honestly, I'm afraid of hurting myself because my ego is too big to not thrash about.

"I've got no plans on the horizon," Dee reiterated. "And just the idea of a bunch of lumbering old dudes on a stage... I'm not impressed with a lot of the reunions. I won't name names, but one that's out there has been performing for way too long in their reunion, and they stand there at their microphones with virtually no movement at all. I was stunned to see a band that used to be all over the stage just standing there frozen in place… For my money, that's not the memory I want people to have of me and TWISTED SISTER.

"So, I have no plans. People say, 'Never say never.' But there's nothing on the horizon."

In 2016, TWISTED SISTER embarked on one final trek, titled "Forty And Fuck It", in celebration of its 40th anniversary. These shows featured the band's "core lineup" of Snider, guitarist Jay Jay French, guitarist Eddie Ojeda and bassist Mark Mendoza, along with drummer Mike Portnoy. The band's last-ever concert took place in November of that year — 20 months after the passing of TWISTED's longtime drummer A.J. Pero.

TWISTED SISTER's original run ended in the late '80s. After more than a decade, the band publicly reunited in November 2001 to top the bill of New York Steel, a hard-rock benefit concert to raise money for the New York Police And Fire Widows' And Children's Benefit Fund.

The new experimental track establishes connections in the uncharted territory between niche ‘90s electronic subgenres, such as gabber, with digital hardcore and extreme metal. "Transcend To Wet" hints at the breadth of Candy's genre-agnostic vision.


Known as much for their show-stopping live performances as their critically acclaimed brand of hardcore, Candy's forthcoming 10-track project was produced by extreme music powerhouse Arthur Rizk (Power Trip, Black Curse, Prurient) alongside Candy guitarist Michael Quick.


Heaven Is Here marks the band's first full-length release with Relapse and showcases their uncanny power to shatter the limits of what is expected of metal, hardcore and punk.




In tandem with the album's announcement, Candy shares the lead single, "Human Condition Above Human Opinion", to introduce Heaven Is Here. The entirely digitally-rendered visual for the track was co-directed by Quick and digital artist Nikita Gorshkov whose 3D art masterfully brings the song's dystopian themes to life.


Heaven Is Here proves to be a record where the songs feel like a merciful reprieve from the screeching interludes; a masterful almanac of noise welded together by the unpredictable ways that we hear and reproduce the music we love in the era of unending dopamine hits and virulent technological doom.
