The eligibility period for the 64th annual Grammy Awards is September 1, 2020, through September 30, 2021.

The nominations were announced during a livestream from the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, which featured Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. and Board Of Trustees chair Tammy Hurt, as well as some special guests.

The Recording Academy will present the 2022 Grammy Awards on Monday, January 31 on the CBS Television Network and stream live and on demand on Paramount+ from 8:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. PT. Prior to the telecast, the Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony will be held at the Microsoft Theater at 12:30 p.m. PT/3:30 p.m. ET and will be streamed live on Grammy.com and The Recording Academy's YouTube channel.

The 2022 ceremony will be the first since The Recording Academy announced that it has made significant changes to its awards process to ensure that the Grammy Awards rules and guidelines are transparent and equitable. The show no longer uses anonymous review committees to determine its nominees. Now, all nominees are based solely on thousands of votes from the Academy's voting members. They also changed the number of categories in which Academy members can vote and added two new awards.

In January 2020, former Recording Academy CEO Deborah Dugan filed a discrimination charge against the Recording Academy of Arts & Sciences, alleging she was being retaliated against for reporting misconduct within the Academy. In the 46-page complaint, Dugan further alleged that "the Grammy voting process is ripe with corruption," detailing secret committees the group used to "push forward artists with whom it has relationships." She said that as many as 30 artists who were not selected by the 12,000 voting members were added to the possible nomination l

SLIPKNOT's KNOTFEST JAPAN Postponed A Third Time; 2023 Event Announced

SLIPKNOT's KNOTFEST JAPAN Postponed A Third Time; 2023 Event Announced

SLIPKNOT has announced the postponement of the 2022 edition of Knotfest Japan.

In March 2020, SLIPKNOT was forced to cancel its Asian tour, including the band's appearance at the 2020 edition of Knotfest Japan, due to the coronavirus pandemic that is sweeping the globe. The festival was eventally moved to January 10-11, 2021, and then, a few months later, to April 9-10, 2022.

Knotfest Japan will now take place on April 1-2, 2023.

More than just a festival, Knotfest is an event that celebrates all cultural aspects of heavy music. Knotfest is a gathering of the biggest and heaviest bands in the world, a phenomenon created by the multi-platinum act SLIPKNOT. Launched in 2012, the festival established itself in the United States and has consistently expanded its offerings across the globe, with events in Japan, Mexico, Colombia and France.

SLIPKNOT performed its new single, "The Chapeltown Rag", live for the first time ever at Knotfest Los Angeles on November 5. The event was livestreamed as it happened, giving fans access to both the studio version and SLIPKNOT's live performance of "The Chapeltown Rag" within only hours of its premiere.

The studio version of "The Chapeltown Rag", which was released that same day, was produced by Joe Baressi, who has previously worked with AVENGED SEVENFOLD, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE and CHEVELLE, among many others.

SLIPKNOT has just completed the "Knotfest Roadshow" tour, featuring support from KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, FEVER 333 and CODE ORANGE. The 29-date run, produced by Live Nation, kicked off following the band's Knotfest Iowa hometown show in Des Moines on September 25.

OZZY OSBOURNE

OZZY OSBOURNE's European Tour with JUDAS PRIEST Postponed To 2023

Ozzy Osbourne's previously announced European tour dates with guests JUDAS PRIEST, originally set for 2019 and then rescheduled three times, have once again been postponed. All tickets remain valid and will be honored for new dates in May and June 2023.

Ozzy says: "Due to the ongoing uncertainty with full capacity events and travel logistics in much of Europe, we have come to the difficult decision to postpone my 2022 tour to 2023. Original tickets remain valid for the new dates. I want to thank all of you and JUDAS PRIEST for your continued patience and support."

A complete list of shows can be found at this location.

Ozzy's tour with JUDAS PRIEST tour will now take place more than four years later than originally planned, and almost five years after tickets first went on sale in September 2018.

Back in 2019, Ozzy was forced to postpone his "No More Tours 2" European run with JUDAS PRIEST following injuries he received from a fall in his Los Angeles home while battling pneumonia. That fall "aggravated years-old injuries" from an ATV accident that occurred in 2003. Soon after, he was forced to cancel his European dates as his recovery took longer than anticipated. Then last year, Osbourne delayed his farewell tour once again due to ongoing health issues.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Ozzy was due to undergo a major surgery to help correct neck and spine issues following the 2019 fall. Those injuries have continued to keep the legendary heavy metal singer from returning to the stage.

Less than a year after Ozzy's fall, the family revealed publicly that the BLACK SABBATH frontman had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.

In July 2020, Ozzy said that he was still "not back to 100 percent" after suffering from several medical issues last year, including the fall, neck surgery and hospitalization for the flu. Ozzy also said that he was looking forward to performing again once he has regained his health and the coronavirus pandemic has subsided.

In May 2020, Ozzy's son Jack said that his father will "probably" retire "within the next five to ten years." But Ozzy, who will turn 73 in December, has repeatedly said that he is not calling it quits, despite the fact that his "No More Tours 2" — whenever it ends up happening — is being billed as his last major global trek.

Ozzy was also forced to cancel an April 2020 trip to Switzerland to see a doctor who specializes in treatment of Parkinson's disease.

TED NUGENT: Why I Decided To Go Public With My COVID-19 Battle

TED NUGENT: Why I Decided To Go Public With My COVID-19 Battle

Ted Nugent has once again denied ever saying COVID-19 was a hoax — almost a year after he said the virus was "not a real pandemic."

The outspoken conservative rocker, a staunch supporter of former U.S. president Donald Trump, fired back at critics seven months after announcing he had contracted the novel coronavirus.

Nugent, who tested positive for COVID-19 in April, discussed his battle with the disease in a new interview with Meltdown of Detroit's WRIF radio station. Asked why he chose to go public with the fact that he had contracted COVID-19 when he knew that he would be blasted by "haters and detractors," Nugent said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "They have no influence on my life whatsoever. The haters and detractors are such idiots. Why would you want a fellow American to die? Why would you claim that I called it a hoax when I never even used the 'H' word. I've never used the word 'hoax.' I identified that [Dr. Anthony] Fauci [the nation’s top infectious disease expert] is a scam artist and [House Speaker Nancy] Pelosi is the devil and [former U.S. president] Barack Obama went to the Wuhan lab to use our tax dollars to create a weapon for the communist Chinese. I mean, that's not a Ted Nugent hunch; the evidence is irrefutable — unless you've got your head up Joe Biden's ass, which has really gotta be uncomfortable.

"The point is I'm an open guy," he continued. "I don't have anything to hide. I do a Ted Nugent 'Spirit Campfire' for the globe every Monday night on my Facebook and YouTube, and I do media every day. I'm not afraid of anything or anybody. When I have an experience, I like to share it with people. I'm a communicator. I've been doing radio interviews since 1963. You know when you have me on, it's a dialogue. I know it turned into a monologue for the most part, but you have me on and you asked me a question, so I'm gonna answer the damn thing.

"The point is the Wuhan weaponized virus is financed by Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and punk-ass Fauci. It's a gain-of-function weapon. Everybody has got it or everybody's gonna get it — that's what 'gain of function' is. And it's a weaponized virus by the communist Chinese. If that's not proof that the worst threat against America is the U.S. government, I can't help you out. That's treason to a tee. And until we charge this government with treason, especially punk-ass Biden… What creature is that? What is that? I mean, I know people, I know human beings, but I don't know what that is.

"My point being is that I have the American DNA — it's called defiance," Ted added. "I question authority. That's what the founding fathers wanted all of us to be. And when you start acting like a sheep and obey illegal, immoral, anti-constitutional decrees, you are in the liability column. I'm in the asset column, and that pisses punks off, and I couldn't be more proud, I tell you. I dance — I dance the more these punks hate me, because it proves I'm so wonderful."

According to USA Today's fact-check article published in May 2020, "it is misleading to claim that the Obama administration gave funding to a Chinese research institute. It is true that funds were provided to a project where an American research group worked alongside a Chinese organization. Claims that the funding helped produce the pandemic are unsubstantiated. A total of $3.7 million was not given to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, only about $600,000." The article also noted: "The grant was provided by the National Institutes of Health to EcoHealth Alliance, a research group that tracks emerging diseases. The grant is directly overseen by the NIH, and it continued under the Trump administration until it was recently rescinded."

The lab-leak theory says the virus was spread from a research facility in Wuhan, the city where the contagion was first reported. The theory remains unsubstantiated, and China has repeatedly rejected it. According to a an article published by The Washington Post on Thursday (November 18), new research strongly suggests the virus spread to humans from animals at the Huanan Seafood Market, several miles from the lab.

In April, Nugent talked about the darkest days of his battle with COVID-19, saying that he had "never been so scared" in his entire life. The 72-year-old pro-gun activist said: "It was really scary. I didn't think I was gonna make it. I literally couldn't function for about 20 hours, and then they came and they rescued me… The six-foot-two, 225-pound headache [this time] was like nothing I have ever experienced. I mean, from my tip of my toes to the top of my hair, I literally was dizzy and weak and struggled to get up to go to the bathroom. And I would lay in the bathtub a couple of times a day with the water as hot as I could take it just to divert."

Ted also said that he was being treated for COVID-19 by a group of doctors who made a video last year calling for the use of hydroxychloroquine to battle the novel coronavirus, despite warnings from public health experts. Nugent went on to detail his clinical management of COVID-19, saying he was taking hydroxychloroquine, "a proven drug for 65 years," as well as ivermectin, "another proven drug."

In the past, Nugent had referred to the virus as a "leftist scam to destroy" Donald Trump. He had also repeated a narrative pushed by conservative media and disputed by health experts that suggests the official death count from the coronavirus is inflated.

Last December, Nugent expressed skepticism that coronavirus was as dangerous as health officials said it was, calling it a "scamming pandemic" and vowing not to take any vaccine.

"It's not a real pandemic and that's not a real vaccine. I'm sorry, I ain't taking no vaccine," Nugent said in a Facebook Live stream.

"You come at me with a needle and I will be in fear of my life. You know what I'll do if you come at me with a needle. 'Hi, I'm from the government. This needle's good for you.' Fuck you."

Nugent has also mocked people who wear face masks, despite that both the CDC and World Health Organization have urged their universal use.

STEVE RILEY Claims PHIL LEWIS And TRACII GUNS 'Do Not Like Each Other', Says Their Musical Reunion Has 'Stalled'

STEVE RILEY Claims PHIL LEWIS And TRACII GUNS 'Do Not Like Each Other', Says Their Musical Reunion Has 'Stalled'

Former L.A. GUNS drummer Steve Riley has blasted Phil Lewis and Tracii Guns, saying the singer and the guitarist "don't like each other" and insisting that the musical reunion between the pair has already "stalled."

Guns and Lewis began working on new music together again in 2016 after playing periodic dates together — billed as "L.A. GUNS' Phil Lewis and Tracii Guns" — around the tour schedule of the other long-running incarnation of L.A. GUNS, which Lewis continued to front. The singer eventually teamed up with Guns full-time and the duo have since released three albums under the L.A. GUNS moniker: 2017's "The Missing Peace", 2019's "The Devil You Know" and this year's "Checkered Past".

Left out of the Guns/Lewis reunion was longtime L.A. GUNS drummer Riley, who sat behind the kit for Phil's other version of L.A. GUNS. After leaving W.A.S.P. in 1987, Riley joined L.A. GUNS and played on the band's most commercially successful albums. However, he and Guns have a fractured relationship, which came to a head in 2002 when Tracii left L.A. GUNS to focus on BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION.

Riley discussed the breakdown of his working relationship with Guns and Lewis in a brand new interview with Waste Some Time With Jason Green. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "The real effort from Tracii to stop me came when Phil just blew on me that he was gonna get back with Tracii. And that in itself is amazing because… I've told it before, and me and [former L.A. GUNS bassist] Kelly Nickels talk about it, how can those two guys be together right now 'cause they do not like each other. I don't care what anybody says; I know what I know. I was the only one constant factor in L.A. GUNS through all the changes. I know how they talked about each other. I know how they got along when they were together, and they do not like each other. So when Phil came to me saying, 'I'm gonna go and start doing some shows with Tracii,' I was, like, 'Woah! Really?' We were out on the road doing a bunch of dates, and that just came out of nowhere. And I was, like, 'Wow. If that's what you wanna do.' He goes, 'Yeah, it's just gonna be a few dates 'cause he's out of his mind, Steve. I don't know how long it's gonna last.' And I was, like, why even do them? But anyways, he ended up doing them. Then he came back and said, 'I'm going to be leaving and doing Tracii full-time.' And that was midway through 2016 — it was midway through that summer tour. So I had to go for six months knowing he was a lame duck; he was gonna be splitting."

According to Riley, he knew from the get-go that Phil "was making a bad call." He added: "To call that an L.A. GUNS reunion with just the two of them… First of all, it's not a reunion. And then second of all, to do it with him and know their past relationship, know how they tore each other up in interviews and in the press and just said the worst things about each other, I just couldn't understand it; it wasn't registering to me. Why would you wanna do this when you could, at this age, at this point in your career, don't you wanna be comfortable and do it around people that you really dig? So it wasn't really registering why he would wanna do it. I guess they saw big dollar signs, and that didn't happen.

"The thing is you've gotta build a machine," he continued. "I know that the machine that they have around them right now is not good. I know that they have some people working for them that probably don't know how to direct them, how to get the most out of what they have. So the thing is gonna stall, and it has stalled."

This past April, a settlement was reached between drummer Riley and Guns and Lewis over the rights to the L.A. GUNS name. Under the terms of the settlement agreement, Guns and Lewis will continue to operate under the L.A. GUNS trademark, while Riley and his bandmates from the other version of L.A. GUNS will now operate under the new name RILEY'S L.A. GUNS.

RILEY'S L.A. GUNS features Riley alongside Orlando, Florida-based guitarist/vocalist Kurt Frohlich, Nickels and guitarist Scott Griffin (who played bass for L.A. GUNS from 2007 until 2009, and then again from 2011 to 2014).

RILEY'S L.A. GUNS released its debut album, "Renegades", in late 2020 — made available under the L.A. GUNS banner, before a settlement between the various parties was reached — and is currently in pre-production for a follow-up effort. "It's going really well, 'cause we've got four really great songwriters," Riley told Waste Some Time with Jason Green. "So this is something I'm having fun with right now."

In an interview with Sonic Perspectives, Guns addressed the fact that Riley's version of L.A. GUNS played at the M3 Rock Festival in 2019 and released a full-length album under the L.A. GUNS name. He said: "Dude, when they did those couple of shows, we got so much angry e-mail from our fans. People were, like, 'What the fuck? None of you guys were there!' We would have to explain it's a different band with the same name. When I say a lot, I'm talking over a thousand e-mails. Then they put out a record using the name L.A. GUNS, [and] the e-mails just escalated. That was the point where some from our family stepped who had unlimited funds, which we used to stop this. It was what we needed to do, and it is done. Can you imagine, now they have to make up their legal fees? In what reality is it worth it? For Steve Riley to spend $80,000, and they will never make that back with RILEY'S L.A. GUNS. There is no logic, and it's so bizarre."

DISTURBED's DAVID DRAIMAN: What We Can Learn From ASTROWORLD Festival 'Debacle'

DISTURBED's DAVID DRAIMAN: What We Can Learn From ASTROWORLD Festival 'Debacle'

DISTURBED frontman David Draiman spoke to Terrie Carr of the Morristown, New Jersey radio station 105.5 WDHA about what it's been like returning to playing concerts after spending almost two years without being able to perform live. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "Everything that we live for and everything we know and everything we do and everything that defines us was stolen — temporarily, but stolen — and you had to adapt and pivot very quickly. Not even necessarily for your own livelihood or monetary survival, but for your own sanity. It was a very trying time. It's still a trying time. But at the very least, we're seeing the light now at the end of the tunnel. We are starting to see live events happening and no massive repercussions from said events with the exception of the debacle that we just saw recently at the Astroworld festival, which is incredibly unfortunate, incredibly disheartening — and I think, dare I say, the symptom of a much larger problem and a much larger psychosis that we're in the middle of."

He continued: "Those two years of isolation and every person for themselves warped us in a way. It led to some sort of post-traumatic stress. We're all hyper sensitive of ourselves and our immediate bubble. And I think that it's going to take more and more positive live experiences for people to remember what it's like to come back together and to look out for each other and to protect one another and to defend and protect the innocent as opposed to not caring or filming on your cell phone or to actually be an active part of the solution in a real positive, peaceful way as opposed to in a destructive and separating and divisive way. I think that that's what hopefully is going to continue to happen. And if we can learn anything from the debacle, maybe that's it."

The catastrophic Astroworld festival left 10 people dead during a performance by Travis Scott in Houston. Since then, dozens of lawsuits have been filed and a slew of questions remain unanswered about what went wrong.

DISTURBED performed live for the first time in nearly two years on September 25 as one of the headliners of the Louder Than Life festival in Louisville, Kentucky. The band also played earlier this month at the Welcome To Rockville festival at the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida.

In March, DISTURBED's "The Sickness 20th Anniversary Tour" was officially canceled. The amphitheater tour, with very special guest STAIND and BAD WOLVES, was originally slated to take place in the summer of 2020 but was rescheduled to 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. It was eventually scrapped altogether.

"The Sickness 20th Anniversary Tour" was supposed to celebrate the 20th anniversary of DISTURBED's seminal album "The Sickness". On this tour, the band was expected to perform songs off the album, as well as tracks from "Evolution" and DISTURBED's extensive catalog.

In September 2020, DISTURBED released a cover version of Sting's 1993 single "If I Ever Lose My Faith In You".

IAN HILL Believes JUDAS PRIEST's Current Lineup Will Last Until The End

IAN HILL Believes JUDAS PRIEST's Current Lineup Will Last Until The End

JUDAS PRIEST bassist Ian Hill believes that the band's current touring lineup — in which he is joined by singer Rob Halford, guitarists Andy Sneap and Richie Faulkner, and drummer Scott Travis — is the version that's going to make it to the end. "I can't see any reason why not," he tells 519 Magazine in a new interview. "We're all realists. None of us are getting any younger, so there is an end in sight, although when we don't know. I think everybody's happy with one another and with the current lineup, which is also almost as important as musical competence.

"You get the best musicians in the world, but if you've got a bunch of idiots, you're not going to last very long," he explained. "We're all getting along with each other. We're all family, really. And we'll continue with this lineup for as long as we can."

Hill is the sole remaining original member of PRIEST, which formed in 1969. Halford joined the group in 1973 and guitarist Glenn Tipton signed on in 1974. Rob left PRIEST in the early 1990s to form his own band, then came back to PRIEST in 2003. Founding guitarist K.K. Downing parted ways with the band in 2011, and was replaced by Faulkner.

The members of PRIEST have dealt with various health setbacks in recent years. Halford recently publicly revealed that he battled prostate cancer during the pandemic. He previously mentioned his cancer battle in the new chapter added to the updated paperback edition of his autobiography, "Confess". In "Confess", Halford revealed that he was diagnosed with cancer after experiencing symptoms for at least a couple of years.

In July 2020, Rob underwent prostatectomy, an operation where the entire prostate gland is removed plus some of the tissue around it, including the seminal vesicles. After more cancer was found earlier this year, he went through radiation treatments in April and May and eventually got then all-clear in June. He also had an appendectomy after a tumor was discovered on his appendix.

Faulkner suffered an acute cardiac aortic dissection during the band's performance at the Louder Than Life festival in late September. Faulkner was rushed to the UofL Health - Jewish Hospital where the cardiothoracic surgery team needed approximately 10 hours to complete a life-saving surgery.

Tipton was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease seven years ago — after being stricken by the condition at least half a decade earlier — but announced in early 2018 he was going to sit out touring activities in support of "Firepower". He was replaced by "Firepower" producer Sneap, who is also known for his work in NWOBHM revivalists HELL and cult thrash outfit SABBAT

TURBONEGRO Pay Tribute To Former Frontman HANK VON HELL - "He Remains An Iconic Figure In The History Of Norwegian Rock And Popular Culture"

TURBONEGRO Pay Tribute To Former Frontman HANK VON HELL - "He Remains An Iconic Figure In The History Of Norwegian Rock And Popular Culture"

Former Turbonegro frontman Hank Von Hell (real name Hans-Erik Dyvik Husby) was found dead in a public park in Oslo, Norway on Friday, November 19th. He was the frontman for the band from 1993 - 2009.

Husby's former bandmates have paid tribute to him via social media with the following statement:

"It is with immense sadness we received the tragic news that Hans-Erik «Hertis» Dyvik Husby has passed away.

We are thankful for the times, the moments and the magic we shared with Hans-Erik in Turbonegro during the years 1993-2009.

As a charismatic frontman who equally channeled humor and vulnerability, Hans-Erik was crucial for the band’s appeal. He was a warm and big hearted human, a spiritually and intellectually seeking person who loved having a conversation with anyone. We are proud of what we created together as rock brothers in Turbonegro - the music, the characters, our whole universe.

Hank Von Helvete remains an iconic figure in the history of Norwegian rock and popular culture, and also made a mark as a profile in the international rock´n´roll community.

Actor, romantic and entertainer - through his life Hank left no doubt that he was a man for the stage, loving the spotlight and the room’s attention.

Our thoughts and hearts go to his family. Rest In Peace."

Husby's manager and best friend, Boye Nythun, has shot down reports and rumours that cause of death was suicide Speaking with Se Og Hør, Nythun issued the following statement:

"In recent days, we have seen and observed a lot of rumors about Hans-Erik's death. I can deny that Hans-Erik took his own life. Hans-Erik had optimistic plans for the future and much to look forward to. It was no secret that Hans-Erik has lived a hard life at times. He has also been open about this before. The last few months have been extra hard for him, and unfortunately the sum of a hard-lived life became too much for him. Hans-Erik's body could no longer stand it. He was found in Slottsparken. His body had simply said 'stop.' It is tragic, and now we ask for peace.

We will not say anything more about the case, but (we have decided to go public) so that we avoid more speculation and rumors."

Husby recorded six studio albums with Turbonegro: Never Is Forever (1994), Ass Cobra (1996), Apocalypse Dudes (1998), Scandinavian Leather (2003), Party Animals (2005) and Retox (2007). He left the band in 2009 and would go on to release two solo albums, Egomania (2018) and Dead (2020).

MR. BIG Guitarist PAUL GILBERT, Vocalist ERIC MARTIN Unbox Lean Into It 30th Anniversary Edition (Video)

MR. BIG Guitarist PAUL GILBERT, Vocalist ERIC MARTIN Unbox Lean Into It 30th Anniversary Edition (Video)

Rock supergoup, Mr. Big, is celebrating the 30th anniversary of their chart-topping Lean Into It album with a remastered and expanded anniversary edition reissue, available digitally, on CD and as a highly collectible limited edition box set made up of five individual colored 7” singles via evoXS.

Check out unboxing videos featuring guitarist Paul Gilbert and vocalist Eric Martin below.

The 30th anniversary release of Lean Into it includes the previously unreleased track, "Stop Messing Around", fully produced by Kevin Elson, from Mr. Big’s 1990 Lean Into It studio session. Check out the just released official lyric video below.

First released in 1991, Lean Into It is the second studio album by the group, consisting of Paul Gilbert, Eric Martin, Billy Sheehan and Pat Torpey. This is the band's breakthrough album, with Lean Into It peaking at #15 on the Billboard 200 charts, while the single “To Be With You” hit and remained number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks. The follow-up single, “Just Take My Heart,” was a Top 20 hit, peaking at #16 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The million-selling album also contains the popular tracks “Daddy, Brother, Lover, Little Boy,” “Alive and Kickin” and “Green-Tinted Sixties Mind.” Lean Into It shows that Mr. Big could also strip away all the flash and 7-minute solos and simply create well-written songs with rhythm, groove and good melodies, making the band one of the iconic new wave of progressive “musician’s bands” who could play mind-blowing complicated riffs on their instruments at lightning speeds.

evoXS has remastered the album using the hi-resolution digital transfers from the original analogue master tapes for MQA-CD (2 CD), hybrid SACD, 180g Vinyl LP and Hi-Res digital. The hybrid multi-channel SACD plays on both SACD and regular CD players. MQA is an award-winning technology that delivers the sound of the studio. MQA-CD plays on all CD players. When a conventional CD player is connected to an MQA-enabled device, the CD will reveal the original master quality. The SACD has a new multi-track mix in 5.1 surround sound which provides the ultimate sound quality experience. The MQA-CD (2 CD) - Disc 1 contains the remastered tracks from the original album and Disc 2 contains the previously unreleased Kevin Elson produced tracks, “Stop Messing Around” and “Wild Wild Women,” hard to find bonus tracks and versions minus bass and guitar tracks, specially made for musicians to jam with.

NIGHT COBRA Debuts New Video "Mortal Danger"

NIGHT COBRA Debuts New Video "Mortal Danger"

In advance of the February 11, 2022 release of Dawn Of The Serpent, Night Cobra unleashes a music video for their new track, "Mortal Danger" - a searing, molten speed metal song that sets the pace for the impending LP's inspired intent. Directed by Dwayne Cathey, the cyber noir-laden "Mortal Danger" video captures both the immediacy and intensity of Night Cobra's vaunted live show.

"In this modern world we are all in mortal danger!" says frontman Christian Larson, who doubles as guitarist/vocalist for the fast-rising Texas melodic black metal band Necrofier. "With our upcoming LP, Dawn Of The Serpent, Night Cobra dives deeper into the underbelly of this depraved world. Many things are happening that align with the tech-noir reality that we seem to be living in. All these moments will be lost in time."

With Dawn Of The Serpent, Night Cobra delivers dynamic, fiery music forged in the concrete and steel of punk and heavy metal. Ominous cover artwork by Adam Burke (Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats) portends the calamity that the record promises.

Dawn Of The Serpent tracklisting:

"Run The Blade"
"The Serpent's Kiss"
"Lost In Time"
"Black Venom Dreams"
"The Neuromancer's  Curse"
"For Those Who Walk The Night"
"Mortal Danger"
"Acid Rain"

KRAEMER To Release Debut Album In January; "Tonight" Music Video Streaming

KRAEMER To Release Debut Album In January; "Tonight" Music Video Streaming

Frontiers Music Srl announces the release of All The Way, the debut album from Kraemer, on January 28. Kraemer is a new musical collaboration that sees Finnish vocalist Erik Kraemer (Simulacrum) applying his vocals to melodic hard rock songs in the style of the classic Scandinavian school of the genre.

The first single and video, "Tonight" is out now. Watch the clip below, and pre-order/save All The Way here.

The musicians playing with vocalist Erik Kraemer on All The Way include Alessandro Del Vecchio on bass, keyboards, and background vocals, Andrea Seveso (Robin McAuley) on guitars and Michele Sanna (Brother Against Brother) on drums. With a set of songs written by Del Vecchio, Marco Sivo, Pete Alpenborg (ex-Arctic Rain), Kristian Fyhr (Seventh Crystal), Jan Akesson (Infinite & Divine), Ulrick Lönnqvist, Fabio Dessi, and Carmine Martone, and outstanding production from the always in demand Del Vecchio, this record showcases the talents of one of the hottest up-and-coming vocalists of the European scene and will be an absolute delight for the ears of all melodic music lovers.

Erik Kraemer is a singer and performer who has years of experience touring in his homeland of Finland with different bands and has also starred in various musical productions. He is also known for being one of the singers of Finnish progressive metallers Simulacrum. Additionally, he has collaborated with Timo Tolkki (Timo Tolkki's Avalon, ex-Stratovarius) on the guitarist's Infinite Visions project and more recently on the Circus Of Rock project masterminded by Finnish drummer Mirka Rantanen (Raskasta Joulua, King Company).

Erik's musical adventure started at the age of eight when his mother started taking him to choir practices at the Turku Cathedral. At the same time, he also started piano lessons. All together, he sang for ten years in the choir and played piano for nine years. Classical music didn't appeal to him much though and he started listening to hard rock and heavy metal. Later, Erik graduated from the Turku University of Applied Sciences with a Bachelor of Social Services degree in 2013 and as a musician from the Turku Conservatory in 2016. He has acted in many theatre productions and perhaps his most known role is the interpretation of legendary Finnish singer Rauli Badding Somerjoki.

ARCH ENEMY Drummer DANIEL ERLANDSSON On Status Of EUCHARIST Comeback Album: 'We've Been Working On Some Demos'

ARCH ENEMY Drummer DANIEL ERLANDSSON On Status Of EUCHARIST Comeback Album: 'We've Been Working On Some Demos'

Cat Unwrapped of the "Collision" radio show on Australia's Voice FM recently conducted an interview with ARCH ENEMY drummer Daniel Erlandsson. You can now listen to the chat below. A couple of excerpts follow (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).

On the reaction to their 2017 "Will To Power" studio album:

Daniel: "It's going pretty well, I have to say. We released the album in September and started touring for it pretty much on the day of release. Yeah, I'm really happy with how it's been received so far. We've released a couple of videos, the shows are going great, so everything is going pretty well in ARCH ENEMY right now. [Laughs]"

On why he temporarily departed ARCH ENEMY in 1997:

Daniel: "Actually, I was pretty busy with another band that's called EUCHARIST, which was my first band. We were working on what became the second album of that band ['Mirrorworlds']. I also had like a bit of a turbulent personal life at the time and ARCH ENEMY just released an album and they were offered a couple of tours. One of them was in Japan. I felt like I didn't have time to do it. They just found another guy to fill in for the tour and he [DARKANE drummer Peter Wildoer] ended up playing on the second album ['Stigmata'] as well. The rest is history. They recorded the second album and then they had the material recorded and decided they want to get a couple of fast songs as well on the album. Actually, Michael [Amott, guitar] called me then and asked me if I was interested in playing on those songs. That's how I came to play in ARCH ENEMY again after the little break."

On whether he and his brother Adrian (drummer of AT THE GATES and THE HAUNTED) grew up in a household geared toward drumming:

Daniel: "We are actually six years apart. He's six years older than me. When I was growing up, I saw him play and he started joining bands in his teenage years and that whole thing was really cool for me to see. The age difference, the thing it did to us, the thing was we didn't actually jam together. If we were closer in terms of years, maybe we would have started a band together and then somebody would have had to play guitar or bass or sing. When I started playing drums seriously myself, he was already about to move out of the house. I was about 12 or 13 when I got serious. By that time, he was already off to a university during the week. I had the drumkit all to myself in the cellar, in the basement. [Laughs]"

On whether he has any bands active other than ARCH ENEMY:

Daniel: "Yeah, I've kind of reformed that band I mentioned before, EUCHARIST. We have been working on some demos, but I really don't have time for that right now. It's been pretty heavily focused on ARCH ENEMY at the moment."

On when ARCH ENEMY will start working on new material:

Daniel: "It's usually, I have to say, it's usually seamless. It's like we already have a little bit of demos from the touring cycle, those long days in the tour bus when you are humming into your iPhone or something. We stop touring for an album and at some point, you just have to say 'Okay, that was the last show in support of that album. Now we're going to focus on this and that.' Yeah, there's usually not much of a break in between, I have to say."

ARCH ENEMY recently completed a North American co-headlining tour with TRIVIUM. The group is in the middle of a European headlining run with support from WINTERSUN, TRIBULATION and JINJER.

"Will To Power" was released in September via Century Media Records. Co-produced by Amott and Erlandsson, the disc was mixed and mastered by longtime collaborator and friend Jens Bogren (OPETH, AT THE GATES, DIMMU BORGIR). The LP's cover artwork was designed by Alex Reisfar.

EUCHARIST reunited for a headline performance at the 2016 Metal Reunion PTD3 festival in Varberg, Sweden. One of numerous groups involved in establishing the very melodic style now known as the "Gothenburg sound," EUCHARIST did not fare particularly well in the face of the era's stiff competition, resulting in personnel eventually joining rival bands. The band released two albums, 1993's "A Velvet Creation" and 1997's "Mirrorworlds" before dissolving in 1998.

SEVENTH STORM Featuring Former MOONSPELL Drummer MIKE GASPAR Signs To Atomic Fire Records; Debut Album Due In 2022

SEVENTH STORM Featuring Former MOONSPELL Drummer MIKE GASPAR Signs To Atomic Fire Records; Debut Album Due In 2022

An outfit created in the midst of chaos, erected from an earth in mourning and the universal struggle to reclaim our humanity... Uncertainty of the collective future remains, but even in darkness there is light. A new challenge emerges from the shadows and a new hope begins to dissipate the pain. A powerful connection that binds us to the universe and a deep desire for spiritual illumination exists within us. We introduce to you, Seventh Storm.

Five musicians from Portugal who aspire to play music full of emotion and character, the members of Seventh Storm are fighters seeking a new path in life. Comments drummer and band leader Mike Gaspar (ex-Moonspell), "We come together with one goal: to stay strong so that there may be a chance of freedom to come, to never give up even in the most troubling times. Our crusade starts now. May our paths cross; may we one day visit the seven continents and navigate through the seven seas, in the hope of creating the perfect storm: the Seventh Storm. May the light and fire return to this forgotten art. Let the horns be heard once more. Join us."

Atomic Fire Records is proud to announce the signing of this promising dark metal outfit who are working on their debut album, slated for release in August 2022.

"Seventh Storm signing to Atomic Fire Records is the best thing that could have happened to us,” says Gaspar. “We are so proud to be a part of this amazing team that truly believes in metal. Together, our mission is to set fire to your hearts once more. Get ready for the best label ever because we are here to stay."

Adds Atomic Fire Records co-CEO and founder Markus Wosgien, "Our common friend Esa Holopainen of Amorphis introduced us and there was magic in the air right away. Within twenty-four hours, it was clear that we would experience this adventure together. The group's demo songs, brimming over with inspiration and all their emotions, really touched us. Our whole team fell in love, and we are fully convinced that this Storm will become nothing but a hurricane."

Seventh Storm emerged from Gaspar's strong desire to continue making music after his departure from Moonspell in 2020. "I was at a crossroad in my life, feeling a bit lost and unsure of my artistic future," notes Gaspar, who was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts and moved to Portugal in 1988. "Then a good friend of mine got me together with musicians that he thought could fulfill my vision."

Initially, he was just eager to get back to drumming with a band and to feel inspired by music again, but after Seventh Storm's first rehearsal, he realized how powerful their connection was. "Most of the members had a more hard rock background and not such an extreme metal underground influence like mine, but this diversity in musical styles is what made the energy in the rehearsal room so magical. Some of the first riffs we played reminded me of early Darkthrone and Emperor. It almost felt like I had gone back in time and was reliving my youth, but with thirty years of experience! The driving force was to save and honor my past and being able to share that with a new metal family - to hopefully make epic, meaningful music full of soul and emotion."

Don't miss out on Seventh Storm's journey. Expect further travel details to be revealed in the weeks to come.

THE HAXANS Channel DAVID BOWIE In Video For Cover Of "Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps)"

THE HAXANS Channel DAVID BOWIE In Video For Cover Of "Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps)"

Goth-pop duo, The Haxans - Ash Costello (New Years Day) and Matt Montgomery (Rob Zombie) - have released an official music video for their spooktacular cover of the David Bowie classic "Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps)". Shot during their residency at the legendary SoCal Halloween attraction, Knott's Scary Farm, the track sees a rare lead vocal from Matt on a song by The Haxans. Watch the video below, and stream the track on your platform of choice here.

Speaking on their new track and music video, guitarist and vocalist, Matt Montgomery shares: "We picked our covers for our Knott's this year from Halloween playlists we've created over the years. One song that has been a staple ever since I could make playlists, was this Bowie song. The original version has such a unique vibe, that it really took some years to figure out how to bring our own thing to it. It's surely a fun one for me to sing on a little more than I do most of our other tunes. It's certainly become a song that defines us and our audience and gets a party started!"

A Goth-pop duo, decked out in creep kitsch high fashion, and named after a silent film from the '20s about a 15th-century German guide to hunting witches, The Haxans sound exactly like everything those images conjure. It’s the psycho-saccharine music of a fiendish creep’s fever dream… Classic art-house cinema, B-movie horror, spooky decadence, vintage American myth, and black roses dripping with blood are all tossed in The Haxans cauldron.

The Haxans are Ashley Costello, subcultural style icon and leader of Warped Tour screamo stars New Years Day, and Matt Montgomery, better known by his aliases Piggy D. and Count D., bassist for over a decade with multiplatinum shock rocker Rob Zombie, guitarist with horror punks Wednesday 13, and sometimes visual and musical collaborator with rock icon Alice Cooper.

The Haxans isn’t a side project. It’s the irrepressible, irresistible, and inevitable exorcism of the party centric Halloween costume shop kicking around inside the brains and bodies of the group’s two coconspirators.

Those who spell magic with a “k” and vampire with a “y,” who invoke ancient spirits in pursuit of a superstitiously serendipitous good time – all denizens of darkness will find sanctuary in the warm boudoir-like atmosphere of The Haxans, both on record and on the stage.
