A PALE HORSE NAMED DEATH Release New Single "Shards Of Glass"; AudioA Pale Horse Named Death, the doom metal band led by founding Type O Negative and Life Of Agony member Sal Abruscato, have released their new single, "Shards Of Glass". It's the second single taken from the upcoming album Infernum In Terra, out September 24 via Long Branch Records / SPV.
Sal Abruscato about the new single: “This song refers to the mental and emotional abuse that happens in a family setting. Tiptoeing around a family member that causes only emotional damage to you and your family, whatever they touch they destroy, whatever they say about your character is a lie and no one trusts what you are saying is true. You get this feeling that the broken glass you walk on is what lies in their wake of destruction."
Infernum In Terra is the fourth studio album from A Pale Horse Named Death, and has been mastered by Maor Appelbaum (Faith No More, Meat Loaf, Yes, Sepultura, Halford etc.) at Maor Appelbaum Mastering (California,USA) while the artwork was done by Kelvin Doran of Serpent Tusk Studios (Dublin, Ireland).
"The album to me represents a new beginning, turning a new leaf shall we say with the same vibe from past albums but with a fresh open minded approach," says Abruscato. He adds: "There is no real concrete specific concept, it touches on some personal topics in my life long, my interest in the dark arts, that to have light you must have darkness to balance everything. With daylight comes nightfall, with heaven there is hell and at this moment the world seems to be in a very dark place hence the title of the album Infernum In Terra. This is a very dark album, but what else is new I always write dark music to sooth a dark soul!"

LAURENNE/LOUHIMO Streaming New Song "Viper's Kiss"; Debut Album Out NowFrontiers Music Srl has released the debut album from one of their most exciting new projects, a collaboration between powerhouse Finnish vocalists Noora Louhimo (Battle Beast) and Netta Laurenne (Smackbound), under the banner Laurenne/Louhimo.
The Reckoning is available on CD/LP/Digital. Order/save The Reckoning here, and listen to the song "Viper's Kiss" below.
"With this album, I wanted to capture the essence of classic heavy metal and hard rock and combine it with great melodies and lyrics that have value. It was clear from the beginning, having two strong voices on the album, that this album was going to be full of power, energy, attitude and emotion. I envisioned it lovingly kicking everyone’s ass, my own included, and I think it does just that. It’s pushing us to do better and evolve, yet having great empathy towards the struggles we all face as humans," says Netta Laurenne.
”My inspiration was definitely the thought of empowering and the songs giving a feeling of strength and sensitivity. And us interpreting the songs from our hearts and souls with full force, leaving no question about how passionate we are as vocalists and artists," adds Noora Louhimo.
After Perugino approached Netta about the possibility of some new projects for the label, including a duets album, Netta realized this was the perfect opportunity to fulfill her idea of a collaborative album with Noora. And now, these two incredible singers have put together a storming melodic metal album.

LOST SYMPHONY - All-Star Classical Metal Collective Reveals Emotional “My Last Goodbye” Video Featuring Late ALL THAT REMAINS Guitarist OLI HERBERTClassical metal collective Lost Symphony, whose third album, Chapter III, is available today, has revealed a powerful video for the album’s “My Last Goodbye”, featuring a performance from the late All That Remains guitarist, Oli Herbert.
Lost Symphony was set in motion when multi-instrumentalist and producer Benny Goodman invited guitarists Kelly Kereliuk and Conrad Simon to add another dimension to the classical demo he had composed. An early recording of “Leave Well Enough Alone,” which appeared on the band’s Chapter II album, made its way to Herbert, who quickly jumped aboard as a chief collaborator.
“I wrote ‘My Last Goodbye’ in 2004 as an homage to my friend Jimmy who took his life,” says Lost Symphony’s Benny Goodman. “I never used it and decided to try using it again but still didn't release it. When I showed it to Oli he loved the progression and we intended it as a tribute song in general, not as our actual last goodbye to him. But that's what it has become. Oli was not just an amazing composer, performer and guitarist, but one of my favorite people I've had the privilege of calling a friend.”
“My Last Goodbye” also features guest performances by guitarists Matt LaPierre and Ryan Formato.
“Working with Lost Symphony was a dream made into reality,” Formato says. “Benny Goodman was able to assemble an all-star cast of musicians with diverse backgrounds and formulated incredibly creative songs that allowed the artistry of each musician to flourish. He provided a canvass that allowed each musician to paint with their own signature. I am honored to have been part of the Lost Symphony experience as I was able to shred, side by side, with guitar greats such as Oli Herbert, Marty Friedman, Nuno Bettencourt, Alex Skolnick and Matt LaPierre.”
The collective founded by multi-instrumentalist and producer Benny Goodman and comprising his brother Brian (compositions, arrangement), Cory Paza (bass, guitar), Kelly Kereliuk (guitar), Paul Lourenco (drums), and Siobhán Cronin (violin, viola, electric violin), has once again welcomed a revolving cast of virtuosos to join them for Chapter III. This installment includes Marty Friedman, Nuno Bettencourt, Alex Skolnick, David Ellefson, Richard Shaw, Angel Vivaldi, Jimi Bell, Jeff Loomis, Joey Concepcion, Matt LaPierre, Oli Herbert, Matt LaPierre and Ryan Formato.
Order the album here.
Chapter III tracklist:
"Denial Of Anger" (feat. Marty Friedman, David Ellefson, Jimi Bell & Matt LaPierre)
"Bargaining Depression" (feat. Marty Friedman, David Ellefson, Jimi Bell & Joey Concepcion)
"Acceptance" (feat. Alex Skolnick, Angel Vivaldi & Richard Shaw)
"Decomposing Composers" (feat. Jeff Loomis, Jimi Bell, Matt LaPierre & Joey Concepcion)
"Take Another Piece" (feat. Marty Friedman, Nuno Bettencourt, Alex Skolnick & Richard Shaw)

K.K. DOWNING Says DAVID ELLEFSON Joining KK'S PRIEST 'Was Never A Consideration'Former JUDAS PRIEST guitarist K.K. Downing says that David Ellefson was never considered as a possible addition to KK'S PRIEST, the new band K.K. formed with fellow ex-PRIEST member Tim "Ripper" Owens.
Ellefson performed a full-length set of PRIEST classics with Downing, Owens and ex-JUDAS PRIEST drummer Les Binks in November 2019 in Wolverhampton, United Kingdom. However, when KK'S PRIEST's formation was first announced over a year ago, the band's bassist was listed as Tony Newton, a founding member of the long-running British hard rock act VOODOO SIX. At the time, it was assumed that Ellefson's non-involvement with KK'S PRIEST was down to the fact that his main priority was MEGADETH, which was working on a new studio album.
In late May, MEGADETH announced that Ellefson was no longer a member of the band, prompting speculation from some fans that he would join KK'S PRIEST in time to play shows in support of the group's upcoming debut LP.
Downing addressed the prospect of Ellefson playing with KK'S PRIEST in an interview with Metal Pilgrim. Asked if David was ever in the mix for the bassist position in his new band, K.K. said: "Dave's a great bass player, and he's a lovely guy. He's a total gentleman. He's so well loved all over the planet. But, no, that was never a consideration, because I didn't want that kind of split kind of hybrid situation — like MEGA-PRIEST or PRIEST-DETH; it was just a combination of two bands.
"Dave was still in MEGADETH at the time and doing exceptionally well," Downing explained. "They were about to go out with FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, and then they were supposed to do their own headlining show, with LAMB OF GOD supporting. And all of that was happening. So Dave wasn't available. And the last thing I wanted to do was ever — even if it was on the cards — to form a split of MEGADETH. So that was never a consideration."
MEGADETH fired Ellefson two weeks after the leak of the bassist's messages and videos featuring a woman who is not his wife.
On May 10, several sexually explicit videos of Ellefson were leaked by an anonymous third party on the Internet and shared to Twitter; at least two of the videos revealed him masturbating. The longtime MEGADETH member later released a statement on Instagram denying all social media chatter that he "groomed" an underage fan.
Last month, Downing said during an appearance on SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk" that he was still "in touch" with Ellefson. "I did send David a text saying, obviously, 'You've got a lot of friends around the world,'" K.K. said. "And he does. He's not just liked — he's actually loved. Because he's such a gentleman. He gives time to… I prided myself in PRIEST, I really felt I was the one guy that was the very last person to hang out with the fans and just socialize and all of that. But David is exactly that person — he really is — and everybody says that about him.
"What happened [with David] — and I talk about it with other journalists and things like that — if this had happened in the '70s or the '80s, it would have just been put down to rock and roll," K.K. said. "He's no different to anybody else. We've all got strengths, and we've all got weaknesses, especially as men, I'm afraid. And so many have kept the doors closed where David messed up and left the door ajar, but he's no different to anybody else. So, I wish him well and everything, and I know that he will, obviously, come back, because he's so good. And he's an amazing bass player; there's no two ways about it. 'Cause when we did the gig at [the Wolverhampton club] Steel Mill, he flew in. We had one rehearsal, in the freezing-cold rehearsal room. He just got off the plane — and Ripper as well — and we ran through the set once. Then we went out and did the show, for better or for worse."
KK'S PRIEST's debut album, "Sermons Of The Sinner", will be released on August 20 via Explorer1 Music Group/EX1 Records. The LP's first single, "Hellfire Thunderbolt", was released in May. The title track followed last month.
Ellefson was in MEGADETH from the band's inception in 1983 to 2002, when the group briefly broke up because mainman Dave Mustaine suffered severe nerve damage that left him unable to play. After Mustaine reformed MEGADETH with an all-new lineup in 2004, Ellefson sued his former bandmate for $18.5 million, alleging that Mustaine still owed him substantial merchandise and publishing royalties. In January 2005, the case was dismissed in court, and five years later, Ellefson rejoined MEGADETH.

MIKAEL ÅKERFELDT Reflects On OPETH Classic Blackwater Park - "A Cross Between Death Metal, Black Metal And Jazz Chords"Swedish legends Opeth are celebrating two decades of Blackwater Park. The 20th Anniversary Edition of the album launches on July 16 via Music For Nations.
Frontman Mikael Åkerfeldt spoke with MusicRadar about the upcoming release, and you can read an excerpt from the chat below...
MusicRadar: The way you make them flow aligned with the idea you were writing a lot of this music in your head is going to be mind blowing to a lot of people. And though Blackwater Park is a natural evolution from Still Life in a lot of ways, did you still feel you were hitting a purple patch as a writer with this record?
Åkerfeldt: “It was [an evolution]. On the first two records I’d been doing single string riffs where I’d come up with a melody and then I had Peter [Lindgren, guitarist] play a counter single string riff to play these harmonies like Iron Maiden or Thin Lizzy, and Wishbone Ash we’d listen to a lot at the time. We’d been doing that for some time and got fed up with it. Also the Swedish scene at the time had kind of exploded with twin guitars. I felt like it’s a bit old hat so I wanted to move away. It became more chord-based riffs, which kind of brings out more a natural aggressive sound when you play six string chords, basically.
“So it was a bit of a cross between death metal, black metal and jazz chords. I was always fascinated by jazz chords but I couldn’t read sheet music and there was no YouTube where I could learn how Wes Montgomery played guitar and that kind of stuff. So I had to make up my own chords basically. And that’s what I did.
“I’ve been thinking about my own musicality a lot. Because I get that question, ‘Why did you write that stuff? How did you come up with that stuff?’ And the simple answer is I don’t really know how I write. If I’m working for something for a TV series, for instance, and I play a chord progression on the guitar or on the piano, I hear a melody and I try it out. Most of the time it kind of works and I don’t really know where that comes from. It’s certainly not musical education because I don’t have any. It must be a combination of my musical interests and my hate for musical barriers.
"I consume so many different types of music and I hear things in so many kinds of music that I like that I must store them somewhere. So it’s a combination of that and my own sound I guess. In short, I don’t know how I come up with riffs, good or bad.”
Read the complete interview at MusicRadar.
Special edition Blackwater Park double vinyl, t-shirts, merchandise and bundles are available for pre-order via the band's official webshop and at Music For Nations.
Music For Nations: "The reissue comes lovingly pressed onto heavyweight, audiophile approved vinyl, with a variety of deluxe finishes, and housed in a gatefold artwork sleeve, with updated liner notes and acknowledgements. The deluxe variants, including a hardcase CD, come furnished with an updated artwork booklet complete with new liner notes, never seen before memories from the band, and exclusive content provided by the Opeth fanbase. It remains a must for Opeth enthusiasts, completists and casual listeners alike."
Blackwater Park is Opeth's fifth studio album , released on March 12th, 2001. The album marks the first collaboration between Porcupine Tree frontman Steven Wilson and the band, as Wilson had been brought in to produce the album. This contributed to a shift in Opeth's musical style. The songs "The Drapery Falls" and "Still Day Beneath the Sun" were released as singles. Although Blackwater Park did not chart in North America or the UK, it was a commercial breakthrough for the band and is often considered their masterpiece.
Tracklist:
"Leper Affinity"
"Bleak"
"Harvest"
"The Drapery Falls"
"Dirge for November"
"The Funeral Portrait"
"Patterns In The Ivy"

DEE SNIDER Calls MOTÖRHEAD The Most Underrated Band Ever - "LEMMY Was Very Frustrated That He Was Reduced To A Song, And I Don't Disagree With Him"Classic Rock caught up with Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider for their Soundtrack Of My Life feature, with Snider running down high and low points of his extensive career. Following is an excerpt.
Favourite contemporary band
Snider: "Monster Truck, a band out of Toronto. They’re like five albums deep. One of those bands that have great influences. You hear Deep Purple, you hear Lynyrd Skynyrd, you hear Alice In Chains, you hear Grand Funk Railroad, but it’s mixed together to form a unique sound. So they’re honouring the past but creating new music."
The most underrated band ever
Snider: "Wow. Besides my own? (laughs) There’s a litany of these groups that deserve so much more respect and appreciation than they get. But in honour of my dear friend, I’ll go with Motörhead. While they’re greatly appreciated, and Lemmy’s iconic, he was very frustrated that he was reduced to a song. And I don’t disagree with him. That’s why in Twisted Sister we paid tribute to him. Everybody else did 'Ace Of Spades', we did 'Born To Raise Hell'."
The best record I ever made
Snider: "Desperado. Ill-fated supergroup with the late Bernie Tormé, an Irish guitar player, the late Clive Burr, from Iron Maiden, on drums, Marc Russell was on bass. I put three years into that project – heart and soul, all my money from Twisted Sister – only to have it shelved at the eleventh hour, just before release, by (record executive) Bob Krasnow. My greatest songwriting and some of my greatest vocal performances were on that Desperado album. It was released, like, twenty years later. A small company finally put it out. But a very sad story in my life."
Read Snider's complete rundown here.
Following his new Leave A Scar album's charging first single of resilience, “I Gotta Rock (Again)”, Dee Snider is thrilled to reveal the album's second single, "Time To Choose", featuring the brutalizing vocals of Cannibal Corpse’s George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher. Backed by an energetic lyric video, the track blends Corpsegrinder’s eviscerating lows with Snider’s razor sharp cleans, making for a dynamic yet ruthless burner listeners won’t soon forget!
Dee says about "Time To Choose":
"'Time To Choose' deals with a subject I've addressed often over the course of my writing career: good vs. evil (see ‘Burn In Hell’). Given the heaviness of this track, I felt adding George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher's voice to this would drive home the seriousness of the choices we make. I was honored when he agreed to contribute his incredibly powerful voice."
Like a scar itself, Leave A Scar is an illuminating plentitude of angst etched in time – serving as a musical refuge and expressive output for Dee. But in turn, this auditory time capsule written to express the anger, unease and pain he experienced during lockdown emerges as not only blisteringly heavy, but relentlessly powerful. Each of the 12 tracks on Leave A Scarnot only further bolster Dee Snider’s position as one of the most celebrated frontmen of all time, showcasing that his vocal delivery and commanding swagger is as strong as ever, but that he is nowhere near stopping.
Heads will bang within seconds of the hard-charging opening notes of ultra-catchy album starter and lifer anthem “I Gotta Rock (Again)”, instantly setting the stage for the non-stop onslaught of metallic mainstays to come. Tracks like the brutal “Time To Choose” – featuring the primed guest vocal attack of Cannibal Corpse’s George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher – and mosh-ready “The Reckoning” showcase the album’s heavy assault, without sacrificing the harmonic goodness evident on tracks like the unrelenting, hooky thrasher “All Or Nothing More” and melodic, metalcore inspired “In For The Kill”. Energetic single of strength “Down But Never Out” encapsulates the chunky riffage and driving drums palpable throughout the album, while searing “Before I Go” provides one of the album’s most massive, memorable choruses and chilling lyrics. The album closes with victorious ballad “Stand”, a call for listeners to take a stand and make their voices heard. If For The Love Of Metal ignited Dee Snider’s eminent surge into a new era – Leave A Scar sets it ablaze.
Dee Snider says about Leave A Scar: “By the end of 2020, I knew I not only had to get back into the studio, but for the first time since the '90s, I wanted – no, needed – to be a part of the writing process. I reached out to my producer Jamey Jasta and told him I was ready to make another record. Leave a Scar is filled with messages to and for the silent voices in the world who need someone to speak out on their behalf. This is my purpose.”
Jamey Jasta says regarding working with Dee Snider again: “Getting to work with Dee again has been incredible! The power and range in his vocals on this album really shine. Not only is he an American treasure and staple in the rock/metal community, he’s a truly original voice and talent like no other. Combine that with the metallic prowess of the Bellmore bros + Russell Pzütto and Nick Petrino, you get a rockin’ metal recipe that even the most "Dee-hard" SMF’ers will surely love!”
Leave A Scar will be available in North America in the following formats:

GENE SIMMONS Says ACE FREHLEY And PETER CRISS 'Continue To Make Really Bad Choices' In Their LivesIn a new interview with "Talking Wax With Adika Live!", Gene Simmons touched upon the lack of involvement of Peter Criss and Ace Frehley in KISS's new documentary "Biography: KISStory", which premiered late last month with a two-night event on A&E.
"God love 'em, both Ace and Peter, in the beginning of the band, were just the best thing that ever happened to us," Gene said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET). "But they made such horrible choices in their life. And they continue to do that — they continue to make really bad choices, not just in terms of their health and what you ingest, but career choices. Like, we just had this documentary that came out that's a headlining thing at the Tribeca Film Festival, and, of course, without even thinking twice about it, we reached out to both Ace and Peter, 'Hey, come and be part of this thing. You helped create the band. No question about it.' And they refused. Ace wanted certain… 'I want this. I want that. I want editing rights,' and that kind of stuff. And God love him, that wasn't gonna happen. I didn't get those rights and didn't want them; I just wanted to throw caution to the wind and get the thing done. So they barely appear in it."
Last month, KISS frontman Paul Stanley addressed the fact that Frehley and Criss did not get involved in the making of the documentary.
"Some people might take exception to it… Some KISS fan might say, 'Well, how come there isn't more of Ace and Peter?'" Paul told told SiriusXM's Ozzy's Boneyard. "Truly, those guys didn't want to be a part of it without certain… I think there was talk of final approval of footage and editing, and that's fantasy — that's fantasy. It's really a story of the band.
"I keep saying we couldn't be here today had it not been there for Ace and Peter being there in the beginning. We also couldn't be here today if they were still here. I try to put that into perspective.
"We live by a template that the four of us started, but everybody isn't built to go the distance, and everybody isn't built for the marathon," Stanley added. "So this really is ultimately the story of me and Gene, and KISS, and the story of the band from the beginning till today."
Last September, Frehley confirmed during an appearance on SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk" that he had been approached by the KISS documentary producers about taking part in the film. "They offered me a small fee to be involved with it, and I turned them down," Ace said. "I thought the fee was embarrassing, because I know how much money they're gonna make on it. So, either share the wealth, or c'est la vie. So I decided not be involved. But they have plenty of old footage of me, and they'll probably use that and get by. But it won't be the same as if they get current footage. Unfortunately, I decided the money that they offered me wasn't anywhere near what I felt I deserved, so I turned it down. The footage you're gonna see of me in this documentary is only gonna be old footage."
Directed by D.J. Viola, "Biography: KISStory" chronicles the band's five decades in the business as founders Stanley and Simmons reflect on their career. Current members Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer as well as guests Dave Grohl (NIRVANA, FOO FIGHTERS), Tom Morello (RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE), manager Doc McGhee, music producer Bob Ezrin (ALICE COOPER, PINK FLOYD) and more tell the wild story of the one of the most successful and influential bands in the world.
To promote the documentary, KISS took the stage on June 11 for a special performance at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival in New York City. For the first time ever, the band played at the festival directly following the screening of part one of "Biography: KISStory". The two-part documentary event was part of the festival's 2021 TV lineup. 3

GAMMA RAY To Release '30 Years Live Anniversary' Album In SeptemberHamburg, Germany's GAMMA RAY has delivered impressive statements of its own musical philosophy to the worldwide heavy metal community for more than 30 years now. Founded and fronted by Kai Hansen after his departure from the famous German power metal band HELLOWEEN, GAMMA RAY recorded 11 studio albums between 1989 and 2015. Alongside Dirk Schlächter (bass), Henjo Richter (guitar), Michael Ehré (drums) and Frank Beck (vocals), Hansen is the band's lead vocalist, guitarist and chief songwriter.
The expressive power of the band's music is reflected in their energetic live shows. There's hardly a renowned metal festival where GAMMA RAY hasn't rocked the crowds and hardly a European metal magazine which hasn't featured at least one GAMMA RAY cover story.
On GAMMA RAY's upcoming live album "30 Years Live Anniversary", the band would like to invite everyone to the party that was their exclusive and only show in 2020. Due to COVID-19, the band was not able to play shows so they decided to do a livestream event and set up a big stage in the ISS Dome in Düsseldorf, Germany. This event took place on August 27 and was streamed to fans all over the globe.
Check out "Land Of The Free" from that livestream event below.
Several cameras recorded the very best of power metal with guest keyboard player Corvin Bahn and former (and first!!) GAMMA RAY singer Ralf Scheepers as a very special guest. This livestreamed show will be released as a double live album on both audio and video via earMUSIC.
Due to COVID-19, this concert, like so many others, took place without an audience. This is why the band decided to invite the fans to send in recordings of screaming, hailing, and whistling to their favorite GAMMA RAY songs, which will be added to the end of the show and gives fans the chance to participate on this release.
"30 Years Live Anniversary" will be released as a digipak CD, as 3xLP on black vinyl, and digital. Furthermore, there will be a limited edition 3xLP on colored vinyl. Each of the three LPs will be pressed on a different vinyl color.
The CD/DVD and vinyl will be available November 12; the digital version will be out September 10. 5

BLOOD RED THRONE To Release Imperial Congregation Album In October; "Itika" Lyric Video PostedNorwegian death metal vets, Blood Red Throne, will release their 10th album, Imperial Congregation, on October 8 via Nuclear Blast. Today, the band has released a lyric video for a vicious new single, titled "Itika". Watch below, and stream the song here.
Founding guitarist Daniel Olaisen says of the track: "'Itika' was one of the first songs I wrote for this album and it's heavy as fuck. Some real cool rhythm stuff going on and somewhat futuristic leads. 'Itika' stands out on the album as a more fictional love song. Some necrophile dude, longing to get the sexy corpse, which keeps ignoring him. He wishes he was good enough, or dead enough, to get her in the end."
With over 25 years and 10 albums soon to be under their belt, Blood Red Throne is dedicated to the continual delivery of straight forward, exceptional death metal with Imperial Congregation being no exception.
“This time around we’ve made something new and fresh in our sound. We felt it from the very first song that was written; this will take us to a whole different level in terms of arrangements, riffs, vocals... everything. We are super-excited to share this with our fans, and in cooperation with the greatest label ever,” says Olaisen.
Imperial Congregation delivers quality, old school sound while reflecting in part upon the self righteous nature of humanity and its incessant need to destroy itself through power, ignorance and religion.
“We live outside this system,” explains Olaisen. “We don’t join in on the sheep mentality. Create your own possibilities, be responsible for your own misery or success!”
The haunting, organic album artwork was designed by the infamous Marcelo Vasco. The image displays a flock of old, religious men as they meet in secrecy to design the laws of lower society.
“Many of our lyrics deal with our skepticism of religion, and of mankind in general. Be free or be dead,” says Olaisen. "Two gigantic skeletons tower over the men of worship as they dictate human fate by candlelight."
Pre-order Imperial Congregation here.

The Global Livestream event, debuting July 16/17 (depending on your global location), will remain available to fans worldwide to tune in through July 25 at 11:59 PM, ET via video on demand. The band - Joey Belladonna/vocalist, Scott Ian/rhythm guitar, Frank Bello/bass, Charlie Benante/drums, and Jon Donias/guitar, will perform an extensive set of hits and deep cuts that will pull from the band's entire catalog.
"I was a 17-year-old metal-head kid from Queens when I started this band," said Scott Ian. "I am a 57-year-old metal-head kid from Queens about to celebrate the 40th anniversary of this band. That means for 40 years, I've gotten to do exactly what I've wanted to do - and getting to do what I love and being a part of something so much bigger than myself has made the time, the unbelievable weight of 40 seems so light. It's been an amazing story so far, and I see 40 as a milestone that absolutely should be recognized and celebrated. Congratulations to us! I also see 40 as a stepping stone to the next chapter of Anthrax - we still have a lot to say and some killer riffs to unleash. I'm not going to say, "Here's to 40 more" because nobody wants to see that (I'd be 97). How about, "Here's to at least ten more, and we'll go from there! Thank you for enabling me, my friends."

ORDER Featuring Original MAYHEM Members To Release The Gospel Album In OctoberOrder was founded in 2013 by Anders Odden, Rene Jansen, Kjetil Manheim and Billy Messiah. The four being respectively responsible for early-stage Norwegian death metal (Cadaver) and the origin of the Norwegian Black metal (Mayhem). In 2014, Jansen sadly passed away, leaving the project unrealized. In 2015 Stu Manx (Gluecifer) joined the band and set the band back on its quest to make unpolished raw black metal anno the 21st century.
It has been four long years since the debut album release, Lex Amentiae, in 2017, and they are now finally ready to release their long awaited second studio album, The Gospel. This time showing the world what strong recipe the current lineup represent.
While the band was very satisfied with their debut album, The Gospel is on a totally different level, according to the band: “This time we have arrived at a place where the creative flow truly feels unique and to the core of Order,” Kjetil Manheim says and continues. “In The Gospel you will meet us on a very personal level. In this record we open ourselves and invite you into our innermost, both musically and through the lyrics. If you ever wondered who we are, and where we come from musically this album is an answer.”
The album brings memories from the past back to the present. Billy Messiah and Kjetil Manheim met in the 80s when Euronymous, Necrobutcher and Manheim had established Mayhem. Mayhem’s demo tape, Pure Fucking Armageddon, was already being copied and distributed through underground networks to dark corners around the world, and what was to become their next release, Deathcrush, was emerging from their creative sessions in the converted pig cellar that was their rehearsal studio.
The sounds that were made still rings today, and to many it marks the beginning of black metal.
Order’s new full length album, The Gospel, is scheduled for October 1 in Europe and October 15 in North America. Digital single/lyric video for the brand new track "Descend" will be released on July 30.

STONE TEMPLE PILOTS Debut Live Version Of 'Tumble In The Rough' From 25th-Anniversary Deluxe Edition Of 'Tiny Music'STONE TEMPLE PILOTS will celebrate the 25th anniversary of their 1996 LP "Tiny Music…Songs From the Vatican Gift Shop" by releasing a three-disc/one-LP deluxe edition. Due on July 23, it will feature a remastered version of the original album, alternate versions and mixes of several of the songs, and a complete concert taped at the Club La Vela in Panama City Beach, Florida, on March 14, 1997.
A previously unreleased live version of the song "Tumble In The Rough", which is the only track on the album solely credited to late singer Scott Weiland, can be streamed below.
STP guitarist Dean DeLeo told Consequence Of Sound about the song: "'Tumble In The Rough' actually came about from Scott wrestling with a guitar at the house in Santa Ynez where we wrote and recorded the whole record. We had noticed him sitting around for a couple days just banging out those chords. The verse riff that you hear where it goes from a G to a B-flat, he came up with that lick first and we kind of built the whole song around it. From there, it metamorphosed into Robert [DeLeo, bass] writing the opening and ending licks. We arranged it, Scott wrote the lyrics and melody, and it was really as simple as that. All you need to do is read the lyrics to hear where Scott was at on that one. It’s pretty autobiographical, to say the least."
"Tiny Music" was recorded in late 1995 with producer Brendan O'Brien at the Westerly Ranch in Santa Ynez, California.
Prior to the release of "Tiny Music", Weiland was arrested for possession of cocaine, heroin and drug paraphernalia and driving under the influence of a controlled substance. In April 1996, a judge ordered him to spend four to six months at a drug treatment center, which put the group's U.S. summer tour on hold.

Weiland, who reunited with STONE TEMPLE PILOTS in 2010 after an eight-year hiatus but was dismissed in 2013, died in December 2015 of a drug overdose.
Chester Bennington, who joined STP in early 2013, departed nearly three years later to spend more time with his main band LINKIN PARK. Bennington committed suicide in July 2017.
Jeff Gutt joined STONE TEMPLE PILOTS four years ago. His recording debut with the group was on its self-titled seventh LP, which arrived in March 2018.
Gutt, a 44-year-old Michigan native who spent time in the early-2000s nu-metal act DRY CELL, among other bands, and was a contestant on "The X Factor", joined STONE TEMPLE PILOTS in 2017 after beating out roughly 15,000 hopefuls during an extended search that began more than a year earlier.

MARILYN MANSON Turns Himself In To Police In Connection With Alleged Assault In New HampshireAccording to TMZ, Marilyn Manson turned himself in to police on two outstanding warrants for misdemeanor simple assault involving an alleged incident with a videographer at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion.
The shock-rocker, whose real name is Brian Warner, turned himself in last Friday (July 2) on the warrant in Los Angeles. Manson then went through the Los Angeles Police Department's booking process before being released on personal recognizance bail. He has agreed to not commit any crimes while on release, not have any contact with the alleged victim, and to appear at all of his court hearings.
This past May, the Gilford Police Department announced that they had an active arrest warrant for Manson in connection with the incident, which occurred in August 2019.
"The videographer had been subcontracted by a NH based company to video the concert, and had been located in the stage pit area when the alleged assaults occurred," the statement read.
"The alleged assaults are not sexual in nature as has been asked by several other media outlets due to a number of other allegations made against Mr. Warner."
Manson performed in Gilford, New Hampshire on August 19, 2019 as part of the co-headlining "Hell Never Dies" tour with Rob Zombie.
If convicted on the charges, Manson could face a jail sentence of up to one year and a fine of up to $2,000.
In a statement, Manson's attorney Howard King said: "It is no secret to anyone who has attended a Marilyn Manson concert that he likes to be provocative on stage, especially in front of a camera. This misdemeanor claim was pursued after we received a demand from a venue videographer for more than $35,000 after a small amount of spit came into contact with their arm. After we asked for evidence of any alleged damages, we never received a reply. This whole claim is ludicrous, but we remain committed to cooperating with authorities, as we have done throughout."
Seemingly contradicting King's statement, three concert attendees — including a security guard — told People that they saw Manson spit and "shoot his snot" at the camerawoman.
"He was spitting everywhere and one time it got on her camera so she wiped it off and looked semi-irritated. He noticed this and kept purposely spitting on her camera," one attendee told People. "I think her final straw is he got on the floor, got within 2-3 feet of her and hacked a giant snot rocket at her not the camera. She was pissed off and disgusted so she stormed off and he just laughed."
"I stopped listening to his music after that and told my husband I would never go to another one of his concerts again," she added.
A second attendee concurred, stating that he "bent down to shoot his snot all over this woman. I can remember him just laughing about what he did."
"I was right there when it happened, she was beyond furious when he did that to her," a third man, who works as a security guard at the venue, said. "He spit on her a couple of times and then leaned real close to the camera and blew a huge snot rocket on her. After he did that, she almost threw her camera right down on the ground." 1

TREMONTI To Release Fifth Studio Album, 'Marching In Time', In SeptemberWorld-renowned guitarist/songwriter Mark Tremonti is back with his fifth album from his solo band TREMONTI. The new album, titled "Marching In Time", is scheduled for global release on September 24, 2021 via Napalm Records and is available for pre-order beginning today.
Tremonti is no stranger to storytelling. Throughout his years with top-charting bands ALTER BRIDGE and CREED, and most recently his solo band, Mark has never strayed from his love of writing memorable songs. With "Marching In Time", the band looks to continue this trend while exploring their love for heavy music, drawing from current events from the last year to form the basis of each song. While its predecessor, "A Dying Machine", was an overall concept album seeped in darker sentiments and story, the vibe of "Marching In Time" is different — emerging as a charging rock/metal offering that takes the listener on 12 individual journeys.
From the driving drum beat of opener "A World Away" to the epic closer "Marching In Time", the new album is a reflective look at the world around us today. TREMONTI's unmatched musicianship bleeds through the album, showcased on tracks like "Thrown Further", "In One Piece" and the thought-provoking "Would You Kill". Alternatively, the band displays their softer side on pensive tracks "The Last One Of Us" and "Not Afraid to Lose". Epic title track "Marching In Time" tells the story of a father having a child during a global pandemic and how he prepares for life during that time — something Mark Tremonti recently experienced in his own life — while upcoming single "If Not For You" shows the evolution of the TREMONTI sound in 2021.
"Marching In Time" was produced by longtime friend and collaborator Michael "Elvis" Baskette — the producer Mark has worked with exclusively since 2007.
"Marching In Time" track listing:
01. A World Away
02. Now And Forever
03. If Not For You
04. Thrown Further
05. Let That Be Us
06. The Last One Of Us
07. In One Piece
08. Under The Sun
09. Not Afraid To Lose
10. Bleak
11. Would You Kill
12. Marching In Time
TREMONTI will hit the road in advance of the release of "Marching In Time", starting on September 3 in the U.S. with longtime friends SEVENDUST.

SYSTEM OF A DOWN's SERJ TANKIAN Releases Animated Video For 'Disarming Time: A Modern Piano Concerto (With Poetry)'SYSTEM OF A DOWN singer Serj Tankian has released a David Bradford-directed and -animated video for "Disarming Time: A Modern Piano Concerto (With Poetry)". The video arrives three weeks after the release of Serj's 24-minute modern classical composition titled "Disarming Time: A Modern Piano Concerto" on his Serjical Strike Records label.
"Disarming Time: A Modern Piano Concerto" will make a redux presence on Friday, July 9 when it is made available as part of the "Cool Gardens Poetry Suite". The release is a rich suite of four elegant cinematic works layered with intimate recital of prose from Tankian himself, taken from the pages of his first published book of poetry, "Cool Gardens". Tankian narrates 87 poems over the nearly 48 minutes of music, weaving his way through a bevy of topics ranging from humorous to sullen.
"Cool Gardens Poetry Suite" will also be accompanied with videos, this time at the hands of visual artist David Bradford, a previous collaborative partner on other Tankian projects. Bradford's visuals quite literally animate pixelated paint onto digital canvas as viewers are caravanned across their screens via Tankian's soundtrack and the gradual unveiling of his visual complement.
"Cool Gardens Poetry Suite" track listing:
01. Cinematic Piano Theme (With Poetry)
02. Les Melodies (With Poetry)
03. Percussion (With Poetry)
04. Disarming Time: A Modern Piano Concerto (With Poetry)
"Disarming Time: A Modern Piano Concerto" arrived on the heels of Serj's critically acclaimed rock EP, "Elasticity", which was released in March of this year via BMG/Alchemy Recordings.
"Disarming Time: A Modern Piano Concerto" is a Dada-esque tapestry of classical to modern mini compositions expertly superimposed together like a BEATLES medley with the dynamics of SYSTEM OF A DOWN utilizing pianos, strings, rock instrumentation, ethnic instruments, choirs, the works.
Tankian comments: "When quarantine hit and all our projects and releases were canceled, I started itching for a musical challenge. One night sitting in bed looking through different voice memos on the iPhone I realized I have this huge trove of short, special, unrealized musical ideas. Right then the thought of creating an epic piece utilizing them all made me smile. So I recorded them all and started arranging the instrumentation to create this incredibly unique musical experience. I mean, who the fuck listens to 24 minutes of music as one piece today? We're about to find out :)".
Over the past decade, Tankian has delved deeply into the world of cinematic composition while creating music for various film, television and video game projects for both major studio productions and independent films. At the same time, he released "Elect The Dead Symphony" in 2009 and "Orca Symphony No. 1" in 2010. This project is an amalgamation of all this and more.
Tankian has slated additional music releases for later this year, as he's queued up an assemblage of 25 cinematic compositions that roam through light and dark soundscapes. The release will be called "Cinematique" and split up into two collections released at the same time in early August. Before the end of year, listeners can also expect two film soundtrack releases from Tankian, for "Truth To Power" and "I Am Not Alone", both being documentaries that the composer produced and scored.

DISTURBED: Interior Art Preview From 'Dark Messiah' Graphic NovelAn interior art preview from the first issue of Incendium's DISTURBED collaboration, the all-new "Dark Messiah" comic book series, is available below.
DISTURBED's "Dark Messiah" begins with a five-issue arc. Published under Heavy Metal Entertainment and Incendium's music-focused OPUS imprint, the story was conceptualized by Incendium CEO Llexi Leon and Tim Seeley ("Nightwing", "Hack/Slash") and written by Seeley, with illustrations by Ángel Hernández ("Arrow", "Star Trek") and cover artwork by Ryan Christensen.
"Dark Messiah" takes place in the not-so-distant future, as firefighter Griffin DeSanto finds himself a man out of time, stumbling into a harsh world of poverty, automation, and subjugation. Technology rules and a tech empire built on suffering keeps the population in check through surveillance and mechanized policing. Though lost, Griffin is never alone. He was brought here for a reason, and The Vengeful One is his guide.
The iconic character and beloved mascot "The Guy" has been the faceless "face" of DISTURBED for over 20 years. This will be the first dive into The Guy's power's, history and lore, as we see him as The Vengeful One. "The Guy" has been featured in multiple DISTURBED music videos, including starring in Todd McFarlane's "Land Of Confusion" animated music video, and in cover artwork for the band. The Guy's origin was in album artwork for DISTURBED's 2000's "The Sickness", shown as a creepy smile with big teeth. After that, his first full-blown appearance was in the album artwork for "Ten Thousand Fists", where he was shown as a character with the same creepy, smiling face, cloaked by a hood, with an outfit made up of torn cloak and multiple chains, pumping his fist into the sky.
"Ever since 'The Guy' made his debut 20 years ago his evolution and transformation has only grown. We are excited to take 'The Guy' to the next level and bring his story to the forefront via both the comic book series and action figures. We can't wait to share this next chapter with all of you," DISTURBED said in a statement about the "Dark Messiah" series.
Seeley, who is also the editor-in-chief of Heavy Metal magazine, added: "the guys in DISTURBED have a lot of the same influences I do...horror movies, '90s superhero comics, punk music, and an interest in humanity and the fight against oppression. So, we've teamed up to give a story to 'The Guy', and it's going to be a savage horror epic about heroism, hope and a whole lot of teeth and chains."
Leon said: "DISTURBED's powerhouse of a mascot was destined for comics and we're thrilled to be developing the dystopian world of their immortal anti-hero, exploring the roots of his power, and digging into the rich history that's been teased to date through the bands iconic album artwork and music videos. With flames and chains in abundance, 'The Guy' action figure was also a must have, so we're realizing that out of the gate alongside issue one!"
To find out more and order your copy, check out the DISTURBED collection here while stocks last. The first printing limited edition is entirely sold out, but a variant cover by Meghan Hetrick is now available so you don't have to miss out on this seminal debut. Also available is Incendium's exclusive "The Guy" action figure release, available for pre-order now and coming soon to a shelf near you. FigBiz officially licensed action figures are the perfect addition to any collection, inspired by the ultimate era of Saturday morning cartoons. Please note this item is for pre-order and will ship October 2021.

THE WINERY DOGS Are Working On Material For Long-Awaited Third AlbumTHE WINERY DOGS have regrouped in Los Angeles to begin writing material for their long-awaited third album.
On Wednesday (July 7), bassist Billy Sheehan shared a new photo of him, drummer Mike Portnoy and guitarist/vocalist Richie Kotzen, and he included the following message: "It's a beautiful day here in Los Angeles. And what a great reason to visit — with THE WINERY DOGS writing new songs! I am VERY happy and excited about this."
This past March, Kotzen once again opened the door to a possible third album from THE WINERY DOGS, telling Eonmusic about the band's last activity, which was a run of U.S. live dates dubbed "Who Let The Dogs Out": "We did a tour in 2019, and it was a nice time. We had a good time on the road, and we were talking about the idea of doing something again in the studio, the third record."
According to Kotzen, the trio was stopped in its tracks by COVID-19. "The pandemic hit, so now I just don't know," he said.
Richie continued: "I mean, everybody asks, and I'm very positive about the idea of doing it, but I just don't know what's going to happen now. You know, we have the situation where we still don't really know when we can tour, and THE WINERY DOGS are an interesting situation; we're not going to just phone it in."
Going on to talk about the band's creative process, the onetime POISON and MR. BIG guitarist said: "We have to be in a room together and write together, and now with Mike in Pennsylvania, and I live in California and Billy's in Tennessee, it's not the easiest thing, logistically, to bring it all together. We don't want to send files back and forth, because that doesn't really work for a band like us, you know? We need to be in the room."
Despite this, Richie remains positive about the future for the band. "The only thing I can say is when we get into a position where the three of us can get in a room together and throw ideas around, that there will be a path at that point to a third album," he confirmed, before concluding: "Right now I'm focused on SMITH/KOTZEN, and this record didn't even come out yet, so, you know, one thing at a time. We'll see."
THE WINERY DOGS were founded in 2012 after Portnoy and Sheehan — who initially aimed to collaborate with former WHITESNAKE and BLUE MURDER guitarist John Sykes — reached out to Kotzen, who played with Sheehan in MR. BIG from 1997 to 2002. The group's 2013 self-titled debut reached No. 27 on the Billboard 200 after selling more than 10,000 copies in the U.S. during its first week of availability. The initial sales of follow-up effort "Hot Streak" were even better, as the album debuted at No. 30 in late 2015 after shifting 13,000 equivalent album units in America during its first week of availability.
In January 2020, Portnoy told Sonic Perspectives that THE WINERY DOGS' 2019 tour was done "just for the fun of it — just for no other reason than to play together again, because it had been a few years. I think it reignited our love for each other, and I think it showed us that there's still so many fans out there that love this band," he explained. "It reignited our desire to make another record, so I think as soon as we can, we will."
It’s a beautiful day here in Los Angeles. And what a great reason to visit — with The Winery Dogs writing new songs! I am VERY happy and excited about this. ??

COLDBOUND Introduces Guest Vocalist NELE MESSERSCHMIDT From ELVELLON For New Album; Teaser AvailableMelodic death/doom metal band, Coldbound, recently released their latest single, "Slumber Of Decay". Coldbound mastermind Pauli Souka has checked in with the following update:
"As the completion of the work is coming to it's final lap, we would like to introduce some previous and upcoming guest musicians. Their input in our music is of huge importance and without them, the vision wouldn't have been complete; hence we decide to devote a thematic collumn dedicated to all guest appearances. Each guest appearance is of huge importance and has been carefully selected.
Nele Messderschmidt, who hails from the German symphonic metal band Elvellon, has completed an outstanding performance for the needs of the upcoming Coldbound release. I remember this session being super smooth and accurate up to the last detail. To work with someone like Nele was a true pleasure and honour!
I discovered Nele's voice somewhere back in 2017 through her band, Elvellon, and right away I fell in love with her crimson coloured / warm voice. Eventually, somewhere in the end of 2020, we agreed about the collaboration with Coldbound for one song of the upcoming album. Looking so forward to reveal to you all the magic that Nele has applied into our music. "
Check out Nele in the studio back in October 2020 here.
Coldbound recently revealed they have parted ways with Liv Kristine (ex-Theatre of Tragedy), releasing the following statement:
"As all of us know, these two years have been affected by the situation of the global pandemic. Traveling restrictions have been of a huge obstacle, hence caused multiple delays concerning the music writing aspect. There has been lots of changes within the general aspect, up to a point that we simply cannot come up with further options how to conduct the work that has started several years ago.
This process involves dozens of musicians / artists and already it has taken a big chunk of monetary value and a lot of time and effort. With all the respect to all people involved and to the music itself, which is the main driving force, and seen all this work being at stake, we have, in mutual understanding, come to the difficult situation to finalize this work without the presence of Liv Kristine.
This painful decision has to be done in order to develop and move forward. As future is not carved in any stone, there is always the possibility to collaborate in one way or another with Liv Kristine. This decision is purely music-driven to ensure the completion of the only purpose of Coldbound; the music.
We like to thank deep from our hearts any single contribution of Liv Kristine, and no one knows what the future might reveal in our expressionistic crossroads."
Back in February, Coldbound released the single "Slumber Of Decay" featuring Liv Kristine. Check out the official video below.

SCATTERED STORM Feat. PISSING RAZORS Members Streaming New EP Ahead Of ReleaseTexas’ Scattered Storm has a new EP slated for release this summer and listeners around the world can dig into the stream right now.
The main theme of Oblivion is darkness in various situations like social, personal, and the fantasy world. The EP lyrically touches on many social and fantasy subjects, musically the intent was to not be too technical, only in moments, but definitely heavy and atmospheric. It is not a concept EP but it kind of flows like one from one song to the other. The music creates the sonic journey while the lyrics convey the history of that journey. As the band describe themselves:
“There are varied themes within each song, but the consistency of the technical aspects of the music make it glue very well. This being the solid foundation of rhythm, with the ambience of the keyboards. The bass separates a lot and this was done intentionally so as to not sound too predictable in the melodies and more tool-like. This works well to create separation and keeps the songs interesting. Imagine taking the ambience of Devin, the complex heavy groove and machine riffs of Fear Factory with some very poppy and heavy vocals in between.”
Over the course of the debut, fans can expect six very well thought out songs. As the band says, there are no fillers. They decided to do six songs to test out the market and not waste any more material. They have much more material, but felt this initial offering was a good start to showcase the band and introduce it to the world.
The EP was mixed by Jay Arriaga (drums/keyboards/samples) who then sent it to their good friend Alan Wallace from Eminence in Brazil to master.
Formed three years ago, Scattered Storm is a group of seasoned musicians that write very dark, futuristic heavy music with a lot of ambience. They are recommended listening for fans of Fear Factory, Gojira and Devin Townsend.
Digitally pre-save the EP here.

CROWN LANDS Share Two New Tracks And "White Buffalo" Music Video Addressing Indigenous RightsJuno Award-winning, powerhouse rock duo Crown Lands - Cody Bowles (vocals and drums) and Kevin Comeau (guitar, bass, and keys) - share two new tracks, “White Buffalo” and “The Oracle” today through Spinefarm Records/Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. Both tracks were recorded with three-time Grammy Award-winning, Toronto producer David Bottrill (Tool, Mastodon, Rush, Peter Gabriel).
“White Buffalo” arrives as a symbol of aspiration, in recognition of the resilience and strength of Indigenous communities to overcome injustice while manifesting a prosperous future. The big guitars, stomping baseline and pummeling drums barrel forward as if to conjure the movement of a giant buffalo.
“'White Buffalo' is the third instalment in our trilogy of songs about Indigenous rights,” says Crown Lands. “'Mountain' is what happened. 'End of the Road' is what is happening. White Buffalo is manifesting what will happen: overcoming oppression and rising up to reclaim one’s land. The White Buffalo is a symbol of manifestation. When Colonizers came to North America they tried to wipe out the Buffalo to starve Indigenous people to death. The buffalo are still here. We are too, and together we’ll overcome. Also, never has 7/8 ever been more danceable.”
“White Buffalo” is released today with the accompanying official music video, directed by Alim Sabir. The spirited visual sees Crown Lands immersed in the elements, performing in a new age forest with dancers that fortify the theme of movement. Watch the video for “White Buffalo” below:
Over the course of a thirteen-minute, multi-part composition, “The Oracle,” continues another story that Crown Lands is creating, revealing the origins of the Queen character featured in the “Context: Fearless Pt. 1” music video. “We wanted to take the listener somewhere and evoke a sense of adventure,” says Bowles. Taking solace from the realities Crown Lands confront in a fictional world they continue to create.
Crown Lands were introduced to Grammy Award-winning producer David Bottrill after he produced the vocals for the band’s last release, Context: Fearless Pt. 1.
Comeau recalls, “The riff for ‘White Buffalo’ came to me during the Context / Right Way Back session with Nick Raskulinecz back in February 2020. It felt addicting and special then. It was originally written in 13/8 and the chorus was in 7. It kept popping its head up in jam sessions, but we weren’t sure how to make the chorus work. Enter David Bottrill.”
On working with the esteemed producer, Comeau continues, “Dave is one of the most meticulous and detail-oriented people we’ve worked with. His precision helped make these songs exactly what they needed to be.”
Fans now have a chance to experience a Crown Lands live set up-close-and-personal as the band announce a hometown show on December 1, 2021 at the Axis Club (Formally The Mod Club) in Toronto. Tickets are available now on Ticketmaster.

LAMB OF GOD's RANDY BLYTHE Says 'It's Finally Time' To Him To Write His Second BookLAMB OF GOD frontman Randy Blythe says that he is about to begin writing his second book.
Blythe, whose 2015 memoir, "Dark Days: A Memoir", focused on his ordeal in a Czech Republic prison and his subsequent acquittal, revealed his plans for a follow-up book in an Instagram post earlier today (Thursday, July 8).
The 50-year-old singer wrote: "It's been six years since my 1st book, Dark Days, came out. I've been kinda busy but I can't screw around any longer- it's finally time to write a new one. The proposal is done, the publishers accepted it, & the contract is hammered out & in the mail.
"Shit- that means I actually have to write this thing! All I'll say is: A) it's another non-fiction book, & B) I just spent over two weeks utterly consumed by writing the freaking introduction. 2,296 words in 15 days- that not a lot, but I want it to be RIGHT. Plus, I'm just stretching the old muscles, getting back in shape for the brutal long haul that lies ahead. The sustained creative heavy lifting required to write a book makes writing the lyrics for an album look like preschool finger painting. Plus, if what you're doing is turning out shitty, you can't just blame the rest of your band. (sorry dudes)
"Most books on writing of are bullshit, collections of pointless “exercises” from people who haven't sold any other books of their own (I should know, I've bought most of them.) No book on earth is gonna turn you into a good writer. There is no magic pill. Just like playing music, shooting photos, or pursuing any other creative endeavor- the ONLY way to find out if you're any good is to DO IT. You gotta write, & the hardest part of writing is sitting your ass down to do it, & then repeating that process day after day after day. There IS a book that can help you start to do that though- 'The War of Art' by @steven_pressfield. This book (& his other books) got me through writing my last book, & it will get me through this one, goddammit. As my friend the writer Brian Pulido said when he gave me a copy 'It's like a fireman's hatchet when you're stuck in a house burning down around you.' I can't even remember how many times I've already read this book. I'm reading it again now.
"If you want to try to be a writer (or pursue any sort of art) but you're too intimidated to start, BUY THIS BOOK. I can't recommend it highly enough. Read it. Do what it says. Then sit your ass down in the chair and write- you'll find out eventually if you're any good.
"Cheers to all the writers out there- I'm rooting for y'all!"
In 2012, Blythe was arrested in the Czech Republic and charged with manslaughter for allegedly pushing a 19-year-old fan offstage at a show two year prior and causing injuries that led to the fan's death. Blythe spent 37 days in a Prague prison before ultimately being found not guilty in 2013.
Blythe's prison experience inspired two songs on LAMB OF GOD's 2015 album "VII: Sturm Und Drang": "512", one of his three prison cell numbers, and "Still Echoes", written while he was in Pankrac Prison, a dilapidated facility built in the 1880s that had been used for executions by the Nazis during World War II. It also led him to write the aforementioned "Dark Days", in which he shared his whole side of the story publicly for the first time.
LAMB OF GOD's U.S. tour with MEGADETH, TRIVIUM and IN FLAMES will kick off next month. "The Metal Tour Of The Year" was originally scheduled to take place last year, but was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Produced by Live Nation, the rescheduled tour will now kick off on Friday, August 20 in Austin, Texas and hit a further 26 cities before wrapping in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada on Saturday, October 2.
Released in April via Nuclear Blast Records, LAMB OF GOD's "Live In Richmond, VA" includes a live version of the self-titled album with two bonus tracks, along with a DVD that features the first of LAMB OF GOD's two ultra-successful live stream events from September 2020, in which the band performed "Lamb Of God" in full, plus an encore of four songs including "Ruin", "Contractor", "512", and the debut live performance of "The Death Of Us", a newer song the band wrote and recorded in quarantine for the "Bill & Ted Face The Music" movie and soundtrack. The DVD includes a new director's cut with bonus material.
"Lamb Of God" was released in June 2020 via Epic Records in the U.S. and Nuclear Blast Records in Europe. The follow-up to "VII: Sturm Und Drang" marked LAMB OF GOD's first recordings with Art Cruz, who joined the band in July 2019 as the replacement for the group's founding drummer, Chris Adler.
"Lamb Of God" was recorded with longtime producer Josh Wilbur (KORN, MEGADETH, GOJIRA, TRIVIUM) and includes special guest appearances by Jamey Jasta (HATEBREED) and Chuck Billy (TESTAMENT).

Mirka Rantanen's CIRCUS OF ROCK Streaming "In Times Of Despair" Feat. AMARANTHE Vocalist ELIZE RYDFrontiers Music Srl will release Circus Of Rock's debut album, Come One, Come All, on August 6. Circus Of Rock is a new band, or rather a massive musical project, masterminded by drummer Mirka Rantanen (King Company). Listen to the song "In Times Of Despair" featuring Amaranthe vocalist Elize Ryd below, and pre/order save Come One, Come All here.
"My musical influences in making Come One, Come All come from a mix of artists I've been exposed to over the years. My own bands which I've been involved in and, of course, my own musical idols. In music, I love more than anything classic melodic hard rock and that shows on this album. I wanted to make the kind of music I could stand behind completely. The intention was just to have fun with musicians I admire and have everybody perform great songs," says Circus Of Rock mastermind Mirka Rantanen.
"As for the recording of the album, last summer we had all the songs and demos ready. I recorded the drums in early autumn and then everyone else did their part in different studios or at home during autumn and end of the year. Since the album has almost 40 musicians, it was a bit of a challenge to keep everything in order when it comes to sessions. Dozens of tracks could arrive to me on the same day. I worked closely with mixer Kimmo Ahola so that we both kept up to date with what was coming in, what had been transferred, etc. It was quite a job and I still have to tip my hat to Kimmo for putting this puzzle together," continues Rantanen.
Come One, Come All has a killer line-up of singers and musicians, a full list of which you can see below. The amazing talents involved come from the likes of Amaranthe, Tyketto, Hardline, Nightwish, Leverage, and more, plus musicians from bands such as Stratovarius, Brother Firetribe, Masterplan, and others.
Hardline and Axel Rudi Pell frontman Johnny Gioeli handles lead vocals on first single "Desperate Cry". Rantanen explains, "'Desperate Cry' was called 'Why' at first, but when Johnny got it, he wanted to change the lyric a little bit and it became 'Desperate Cry'. This was the first song that came together for the album. It is written by songwriter/guitarist Ade Manninen and as soon as I heard the demo of it, I was absolutely sure it would go to Johnny. It fits his voice perfectly. Unfortunately, Ade died of cancer May 9th and will not be able to see the release of the song or the entire album. The guy in the video is a "stunt guitarist" because Ade was no longer able to participate in the video shootings due to his health. But he's in our memories now here and a few other songs he plays on. The song is about a relationship ending between two people and the pain involved with that, but after Ade's death, the story took on a whole new meaning, at least for me."
“A few years ago I started to think about recording a solo album; however, I didn’t want to do just a traditional solo album. That’s because people often think a solo album is mainly to allow the musicians to show off their fantastic skills and magnificent instruments, but I wanted to focus more on the great songs that don’t happen to have extra drum solos. I also wanted to include many fantastic colleagues with whom I have played over the years on this album, and in addition a couple of great guest singers. My intention is to get the album released in 2021, when I turn 50. And now this will happen thanks to the Frontiers label. The album will be a kind of milestone in my professional career, my long-term 'dream that is finally coming true' type of thing," says Rantanen.
Confirmed singers and musicians appearing on the album include:
- Jarkko Ahola
- Rick Altzi (Masterplan)
- Kimmo Blom (Leverage)
- Johnny Gioeli (Hardline)
- Marco Hietala (ex-Nightwish)
- Erik Kraemer (Simulacrum)
- Mark Quee
- Antti Railio
- Pasi Rantanen (Thunderstone)
- Elize Ryd (Amaranthe)
- Tommi “Tuple” Salmela
- Riku Turunen
- Danny Vaughn (Tyketto)
Mirka Rantanen has a long career in the Finnish hard rock scene. He has played on 40+ albums during his 30 year career, including releases by King Company, Raskasta Joulua, Kotipelto, Warmen, Northern Kings, Revolution Renaissance, and more. In addition, ten years ago he created the very popular heavy rock band for kids called Hevisaurus, for which he was awarded the Emma Award in 2011 (the Finnish equivalent of a Grammy).

TEN YEARS AFTER To Release Naturally Live (Deluxe Edition) In AugustAfter the success of “A Sting In The Tale (Deluxe Edition)”, Ten Years After is now releasing Naturally Live (Deluxe Edition) via Deko Entertainment. This release comes with two bonus tracks.
Ten Years After are best known for their Platinum selling album A Space In Time, which featured the Top 40 hit "I'd Love To Change The World", and their prodigious performance appearance at the Woodstock Festival in upstate New York, August 1969. Their rendition of "I'm Going Home" was featured in both the subsequent film and soundtrack album and catapulted them to star status.
Original members Ric Lee and Chick Churchill have continued this legacy and are now rounded out by guitarist/vocalist Marcus Bonfanti and bass icon Colin Hodgkinson. Naturally Live was recorded at HsD, Erfurt, Germany on March 24, 2018 and contains live recordings such as: ”Land Of The Vandals”, “Silverspoon Lady” & “Last Night Of The Bottle” taken from their phenomenally successful studio album A Sting In The Tale. These tracks are combined with old favorites such as “I'd Love To Change The World”, “Hear Me Calling”, “Good Morning Little Schoolgirl” and, of course, the Woodstock killer track “I'm Going Home”. Also included is the band's semi-acoustic section of their current live show which features three tracks from the very early days in 1967: “Portable People”, “Don't Want You Woman” & “Losing The Dogs”.
This Deluxe Edition, due out August 13, also contains “I Say Yeah” which was previously only available on the vinyl edition and the previously unreleased rendition of “32-20 Blues” performed by bassist Colin Hodgkinson.
Founding member Ric Lee states, “In the early days at London’s Marquee Club we did an acoustic performance where Alvin Lee played an acoustic guitar, Leo Lyons played an upright string bass, Chick played the Marquee’s acoustic piano and I went from the drum set to the front of the stage to join the guys with just a snare drum on a stand and a pair of brushes. The slot went down really well and several years later when we were playing larger venues, I suggested we played the acoustic spot again to add some variety to what we were doing. Alvin didn’t think it would work and so it didn’t happen. Much later, after Alvin had more or less retired and we had Joe Gooch on vocals and guitar I again suggested we do the acoustic set but this time Leo didn’t think it was right.
"When Marcus and Colin joined us and we were discussing new material for the set, they were both very enthusiastic about doing the three acoustic songs included on the Naturally Live (DeLuxe Edition) album and it proved to be a good decision, as that part of the set goes down fantastically well with our audiences. 'I Say Yeah' always sounded like an unfinished song to me so we worked out a new arrangement and it’s become somewhat anthemic and involves audience participation.
"What can I say about Colin’s performance of John Lee Hooker’s '32-20 Blues'? It’s a superb showcase of his amazing bass playing and vocalizing. Colin is an extremely talented and experienced musician. The people he’s played with throughout his long career reads like a who’s who of the music business. From my point of view it’s an honor and a pleasure to have him in the Ten Years After rhythm section and, to cap it all, he’s a great guy too!”
There are limited edition bundles (while supplies last), which can be ordered here.

THE BLOOD OF CHRIST's 1990s Demos To Be Reissued On Cassette, CD; “In The Distance” Lyric Video StreamingCDN Records has announced that August 21 will be the release date for the reissue of Canadian death metallers The Blood Of Christ's early 1990's demos Frozen Dreams (1994) and The Lonely Flowers Of Autumn (1995) on limited edition cassette and CD. Both are remixed along with remastering done by Dan Swano (Incantation, Jungle Rot, Asphyx). The CD version features bonus tracks from the 1996 Torture Records 7″ single and the 1994 demo “Frozen Dreams”.
The Blood Of Christ brutalized their way onto the Canadian scene in the mid-1990s. Even with various lineup changes, mainly vocalists, the band has released a discography of multiple albums and splits along with being a tour de force, supporting bands such as Cryptopsy, Incantation, Morbid Angel, Kataklysm, Necronomicon, Killitorous and many more local and international acts.
The band comments on the reissues: "This was the beginning of our natural journey that began rooted in straight-up death-grind metal around 1995 with added dark elements from black metal and doom. These songs became epic with varied time signatures and tempo changes, often shifting from chugging death metal riffs to droning black metal riffs in the blink of an eye - and incorporated more vocal styles than the average death metal band would. We have always called it Epic Dark Metal since our inception in 1995 with our “the Lonely Flowers of Autumn” demo… and that has stuck with us."
In support of the reissues for Frozen Dreams and The Lonely Flowers Of Autumn, The Blood of Christ are also sharing their lyric video for the track “In The Distance”. It was a song written by the band while heavily influenced by Kataklysm's Sorcery album. It's a lengthy, heavy and unique grinder that is dedicated to a story of a vampire who can not love a human woman due to his wretched existence and immortality. This song acts as a soundtrack to human suffering, told from both the band's and the fictional vampire’s point of view. Watch the clip below.
