Guitarist Gus G. (Firewind, Ozzy Osbourne) recently got together with his friends Strutter (bass) and Achilles (drums) to rehearse some of the tracks off his new album, Quantum Leap.
"We set up a few cameras and pushed the 'record' button," says Gus G. "We approached this as if it was a livestream. The video edit is done on the spot and the audio is raw with no overdubs. In anticipation of things to come in 2022, Conjurer are drawing the curtain over yet another frustrating year for live music by releasing a video for the monumental and devastating track "Thankless", from their full-length, Mire.
The clip features a collage of frenetic live footage recorded at different festival and club shows, as well as some backstage impressions, and gives you a hint of what you can expect from Conjurer's eagerly-awaited return to European stages in 2022, which will include a couple of bigger festivals as well as a tour with France's Celeste.

Swiss extremists, Zeal & Ardor, continue apace towards the release of their self-titled, third album, with the recent release of epic, evocative new song, "Golden Liar". A music video for the song can now be viewed below.
Frontman Manuel Gagneux asserts, "’Golden Liar' is one of the tracks on this record I’m most proud of. Unlike singles released previously from the new album, it’s a slow burn. Rather than using harsh tones to convey heaviness, it uses lyrics and atmosphere to convey weight. It’s both smoke and fire."
Video director Max Carlo Kohal comments, "While listening to this blast of a song, I was always happy that it put images in my head. It inspired the whole process of creating this music video. From the story to locations, from camera work to the editing room. And after hearing the song roughly 300 times, I still can't wait to listen to it again!"
Hissing and seeping justifiable rage from every pore - yet not an unrelenting musical battering - the forthcoming new album will be released February 11 via MVKA. The 14-track record was recorded by Marc Obrist and Manuel Gagneux at Hutch Sounds and mixed & mastered by Will Putney at Graphic Nature Audio. All songs were written and performed (except drums) by the softly spoken, multi-lingual Gagneux.
The avant-garde alchemists have been gradually sharing the highly anticipated album with fans, steadily unveiling new tracks in recent months. Two special highlights, among many, on So Close To Heaven include a duet between vocalist Lars Safsund and revered melodic rock singer Robbie LaBlanc on the track "This Time" and the band's cover of Richard Marx's "Arrow Through My Heart". The latter track was written by Richard Marx, Bruce Gaitsch, and Fee Waybill during the sessions of Marx’s hit album Repeat Offender.
Lionville was started in 2010 by Stefano Lionetti, a songwriter, singer and guitarist based in Genova, Italy and his brother Alessandro. Thanks to the incredible songs Stefano had managed to write, he got none other than Lars Säfsund (Work Of Art, Enbound) involved as the lead vocalist, which was a true coup for the band. After two indie releases, in 2017 Lionville signed with Frontiers, who gave the band’s releases larger support, distribution, and thus brought them to a new audience of melodic rock fans. Since signing with Frontiers, Lionville has released two highly praised albums, A World Of Fools and Magic Is Alive, and in the process, has become one of the most well-respected acts dedicated to pure AOR on the label's roster.

January 14, 2022 will see Czech psy-core metal masters Dymytry release their sixth and first international studio album, Revolt, on German powerhouse label AFM Records.
After well over one thousand concerts in their home country, five successful records to date and a platinum award for their latest release Revolter, Dymytry has opted for a step that is unusual in two respects: Revolt, originally recorded exclusively in Czech, will be the first Dymytry album to also be released in English language, as well as introducing their new, additional singer Alen „A.L.“ Ljubic.
“Four years ago we came up with the idea of expanding our musical operating radius beyond the Czech Republic. We probably wanted to get out of our comfort zone and try something new and different. After translating a few of our tracks into English, we started to look at the option of playing some shows abroad,” bassist Artur “R2R” Mikhaylov revealed earlier. After a joint single with German act Hämatom in September 2018, both bands went on tour together in October 2018; these were Dymytry's first shows outside their home country. Mikhaylov: “The tour proved to us that our music also works for an international audience, and in English.” So the band decided to take this remarkable step, and the band’s first international output, Revolt, will be released on January 14, 2022 through AFM Records. “We want to show to the world that there is great music in the Czech Republic, too,” Mikhaylov explains. “We feel that our first English album is a very strong record, we really put everything into it.“
After the previously released, first single 'Chernobyl 2.0', today Dymytry presents a brand new video clip for the blistering album title track Revolt! This past September, METALLICA's Lars Ulrich said that it was "way too early" to talk about a new studio album from the band. The 57-year-old drummer touched upon a possible follow-up to 2016's "Hardwired… To Self-Destruct" while speaking to SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk". Asked if there is a new METALLICA LP in the works, Lars said: "We're on that path. I don't know if it's cohesive enough to call a record, but we're dipping our toes. We've been trying to stay busy. We did the drive-in thing last summer. We did an All Within My Hands event in November. We did '[The Late Show With Stephen] Colbert'. We're doing '[Jimmy] Kimmel [Live!]' tomorrow. We're engaged. And we are creating at some level. It's way too early to talk about a record or a timeline or anything. But we're staying busy. And it's exciting to just think of the possibilities. Right now we're so rejuvenated and just ready to get back in."
Earlier this year, METALLICA frontman James Hetfield told "The Fierce Life" podcast that he and his bandmates had written "quite a few songs" during the coronavirus quarantine. "We'll see how many we like first, and then we'll put 'em out," he said. "We're pretty selfish that way; we like what we write as well."
This past July, guitarist Kirk Hammett told Classic Rock magazine that he and his bandmates have been staying creative during the pandemic. "We've tried to make the most of the COVID year and a half, and we've been pretty successful," he said. "We've got together remotely and worked, and we've got together [properly] and worked. Things are moving really well. I would say that the music we're coming up with is very appropriate for the times."

Hamburg death metallers Rise Of Kronos, still known to many under their former band name Surface, have signed with MDD and expect to release their new album in the first quarter of 2022.
The renaming took place at the beginning of this year, among other things to connect the band's concept even more strongly with the dark-antique world of Greek mythology, which thus becomes more central. Originally, the band's fourth album was supposed to be released in 2021, but as is often the case, things turned out differently, and as we all know, good things come to those who wait.
In August, the quartet released "Cycles", an official video clip for the new material, in which they engage in a fierce guttural battle with Hiraes / Critical Mess frontwoman Britta Görtz.

This past July, METALLICA announced details of its massive 40th-birthday celebration: The band will mark this milestone by inviting the worldwide METALLICA family to join them in their hometown of San Francisco for two unique live shows featuring two different setlists December 17 and 19 at Chase Center. The story of Tankard’s rise to one of the most revered thrash metal bands from their humble beginnings in Frankfurt Germany, began under their first name of Avenger in the early 1982. It was their Heavy Metal Vanguard and Alcoholic Metal demos changing hands in the era’s bustling underground tape-trading network that exposed them to the international metal community.
Positive word of mouth soon attracted the attention of Germany’s own metal start-up, Noise Records, which signed the newly re-christened Tankard (beer mug) to a deal. Tankard’s tenure at the label spawned seven studio albums, one live record, a live video and a compilation and established them as one of the most enduring on the thrash scene. One they still tour globally to this day, to their hordes of maniac forces fans.
Never taking themselves too seriously and fuelled by a love of beer, their unique take on ‘fast thrash-punk’ is pure anarchy with lots of fun. Their ’86 debut Zombie Attack was fast, furious and chaotic fun which set the table of what was to come. Following hot on the heels of their debut, 1987’s Chemical Invasion sealed their thrash chops, with 1988’s The Morning After cementing the band on the global scene. The Alien EP kept momentum in ’89 until the 1990’s dawned with the reflective, The Meaning Of Life. 1991 saw their live fury documented in Fat, Ugly & Live and also a legendary thrash fest in East Berlin was committed to film in the form of Open All Night. Tankard remained prolific through the tough times for thrash of the 1990’s, keeping the faith with the introspective Stone Cold Sober (1992), Two-Faced (1993) saw them bare their teeth against social injustice and The Tankard’(1995) took them back to the familiar surroundings of the pub.
For A Thousand Beers is a deluxe 40th anniversary celebration of Tankard’s Noise Records discography and is the definitive collection of their decade of recorded work and contains :

New York death metal veterans IMMOLATION will release their new album, "Acts Of God", on February 18, 2022 via Nuclear Blast.
With five long years passed since "Atonement", "Acts Of God" showcases IMMOLATION's ability to consistently create fascinating sounds while still keeping its feet firmly rooted in the old-school New York death metal for which it is renowned.
The official music video for the first single from "Acts Of God", a song called "Apostle", produced, directed, and edited by the band's own Robert Vigna, can be seen below.

"Acts Of God" saw the return of longtime friend and recording counterpart Paul Orofino of Millbrook Studios while final touches were brought about on the mixing and mastering by Zack Ohren of Castle Ultimate Studios. For the cover artwork, the band enlisted Eliran Kantor to create the haunting new masterpiece that featured the muted colors and ethereal images that are hallmarks for IMMOLATION's artwork. The artwork pieces inside the booklet were created by Santiago Jaramillo of Triple Seis Design.
Today sees the release of the animated video for "Proper Jack Froster", the latest single from Big Big Train, taken from the forthcoming Welcome To The Planet album. "Proper Jack Froster" is based on a story from Gregory Spawton's childhood in the Midlands in the UK in the 1970s.
Work on the video by Swedish animator Love Andreas Gson Fagerstedt began before the untimely, tragic passing of Big Big Train’s singer David Longdon on November 20. David's partner and the band have decided that the video should still be released to help to promote the forthcoming album to the fullest extent possible.

Big Big Train’s March 2022 UK tour will now not take place; ticket holders should contact their point of purchase for information on refunds. Prior to David’s death the band had been on the verge of announcing a North American tour consisting of over 20 shows in May and June 2022. This projected North American tour will also not be taking place.
The band will be making an announcement next year about its future, including regarding the September 2022 shows that are scheduled to take place in the UK. Ticket holders for these September shows are encouraged to retain their tickets for the time being pending that further announcement. No further comment will be made about the band’s future before next year.
The release of Welcome To The Planet will continue on January 28, six months after the band’s Top 40 album, Common Ground
The new album sees Big Big Train retain their progressive roots but also take influence from all spheres of music. The four recent singles "Proper Jack Froster", "Made Of Sunshine", "The Connection Plan" and "Lanterna" are also included along with keyboard player Carly Bryant's first Big Big Train writing credit and lead vocal on the captivating title track.
