Watch: COREY TAYLOR's Son GRIFFIN Joins SLIPKNOT On Stage In BucharestSLIPKNOT kicked off its summer 2022 European tour last night (Wednesday, July 20) at Romexpo in Bucharest, Romania. Support on the trek is coming from JINJER and VENDED, the band fronted by Griffin Taylor, son of SLIPKNOT singer Corey Taylor.
Griffin joined his father's band on stage in the Romanian capital to perform "Custer", the third single from SLIPKNOT's fifth studio album, ".5: The Gray Chapter", which came out in 2014. Fan-filmed video of his appearance can be seen below.
In a December 2021 interview with Knotfest's Ryan J. Downey, Griffin was asked if he pays attention to the feedback his Iowa-based metal band has received in the weeks since it released its debut single. He said": "For me, I do see people's responses to it, and I get a lot of great responses, because I love the crowd — I love the fans because they've been there for my dad and they will be there for me and I will not force them to be. But we do get backlash because of the comparison and the similarities [to SLIPKNOT]. But we are different. And there have been times where I've read some hate comments on YouTube and I literally went into the bathtub, filled the bathtub up and just immediately started crying. I was just so fucking in a bad place before we got here. And now I'm in a good place because I'm with my friends."
VENDED's lineup is completed by Simon Crahan (son of SLIPKNOT percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan) on drums and Connor Grodzicki on rhythm guitar.
Formed in February of 2018, VENDED exhibits a furiously heavy sound built upon the foundations laid by the speed, power and precision of the rhythm section, layered with ferocious guitars, soul crushing solos and gutteral-yet-melodic vocals that portray the hardships and the harsh realities of life.
VENDED had its first mainstream exposure in 2020 when its performed as part of Knotfest.com's virtual "Pulse Of The Maggots" festival.
VENDED played its first headlining show in March 2020 at the iconic local club Vaudeville Mews in Des Moines, Iowa.
Griffin, who looks a lot like his father, previously showcased his skills when he joined Corey onstage during STONE SOUR shows in 2017 and 2018. According to The Pulse Of Radio, he's also played cover tunes with Simon Crahan, while Clown's daughter Alexandria Crahan-Conway has snapped some of VENDED's previous press pics.

IN APHELION Unveil "Sorrow, Fire And Hate" VideoBlack / death titans In Aphelion have issued the new video "Sorrow, Fire And Hate". The track comes from the band's debut album, Moribund, released in March 2022 by Edged Circle Productions.
With the band gearing up for live action far and wide, the video displays In Aphelion's onstage power and prowess. As the band explains, "The video for 'Sorrow, Fire And Hate' celebrates the manifestation of In Aphelion as a live act - the metamorphosis of a band as recording artists reborn and united with the audience, just like the lyrics of the song are about crossing the rivers of the underworld to wander into the unknown and unite with eternity. The video was filmed by our close friends in the Swedish black metal scene - by the ones that have kept the scene alive during decades, the ones immune against trends. What was captured at our debut gig could never be made with script and professional equipment. The purity of the raw footage was just right for this video."
A veritable treasure trove of Swedish black / death royalty, In Aphelion are a power-trio originally formed in 2020 by longtime Necrophobic guitarist Sebastian Ramstedt on vocals, guitar, and bass with prolific drummer Marco Prij. In 2021, with the advent of their debut demo, fellow Necrophobic guitarist Johan Bergebäck joined, making the unholy trinity complete. An impossibly auspicious first start, In Aphelion's first demo - despite being limited to a mere 50 copies - landed the band a deal with Edged Circle, first resulting in the teaser-length EP Luciferian Age and now a grandiose hour-long debut album, Moribund.
Indeed, while the spectre of classic blackened death metal for which Sweden is known looms large over In Aphelion, it must be stressed that these gentlemen are THE grand architects of that incredibly influential and ever-enduring sound. And not ones to rest on their laurels, with In Aphelion do both Ramstedt and Bergebäck unfurl new vistas of the imagination whilst respectably remaining within that noble tradition. Simply put, this is timeless heavy metal might painted in purple-blue hues but beaming with brilliant colors beyond.
Point proof is In Aphelion's first full-length recording, Moribund. While two tracks - "Luciferian Age" and "Draugr" - were forecasted on the aforementioned Luciferian Age EP, Moribund majestically displays the full bounty of In Aphelion's seemingly infinite powers. Longer, stronger, more deathly, more blackened, more metal, more of literally everything: Moribund is a veritable monolith of awe-inspiring songwriting and impassioned performance. Breathtaking opener "World Serpent (Devourer Of Dreams)" lives up to its namesake - and then some - and duly sets the stage for all that follows for the next 59 minutes. Rise, fall, rise even higher, marching and racing and spiraling and dazzling with every step: In Aphelion exercise a wealth of texture and nuance across these ten tracks, all whilst remaining razor-sharp and as finessed as it comes. It's not hyperbole here to suggest that In Aphelion in general and Moribund in particular handily challenge the sacred tomes of the '90s - again, it must be reiterated that two of those architects are in this band - but the epic-yet-effervescent manner in which this timeless black/death is rendered puts both in rarefied territory, and refreshingly so. And, just like the swift and satisfying Luciferian Age, Moribund is likewise given a grippingly powerful mix and mastering by Unleashed's Frederik Folkare.
Tracklisting:
"World Serpent (Devourer Of Dreams)"
"Draugr"
"Let The Beast Run Wild"
"Luciferian Age"
"This Night Seems Endless"
"He Who Saw The Abyss"
"Moribund"
"The Origin"

WHITESNAKE Release Remastered "The Deeper The Love" Music Video; DAVID COVERDALE Praises STEVE VAI In New Greatest Hits Promo ClipWhitesnake revisit its multi-platinum career as it remixes some of its biggest hits for the new collection that spotlights updated versions of classic tracks like “Still Of The Night,” “Here I Go Again,” and “Is This Love.”
Whitesnake's Greatest Hits is available now on digital and streaming services, on CD, 2LP, and fans are invited to order the collection by going here.
The band have released this remastered video for "The Deeper The Love":
In another clip, David Coverdale looks back on "The Deeper The Love":
David Coverdale had 16 tracks remixed and remastered for this collection. He explains: “We’ve definitely expanded on the original Greatest Hits, took them all out of the sonic time capsule of the ’80s and ’90s, and brought them up to date, sound-wise … as always, we have the original albums for those who consider them holy relics.”
Keyboardist Derek Sherinian, who also appeared on Whitesnake’s recent Red, White and Blues trilogy, adds Hammond organ to more than half the songs on the collection. His scorching contributions can be heard on the #1 smash “Here I Go Again,” “Fool For Your Loving,” “You’re Gonna Break My Heart Again,” and more. New performances by former Whitesnake guitarist Adrian Vandenberg can also be heard on “The Deeper The Love” and “Judgement Day” from the 1989 album, Slip Of The Tongue.
Along with those new additions, Coverdale also went back to the vault to unearth vintage performances by guitarist John Sykes that didn’t appear on the original recordings, including a solo on “Slide It In” and rhythm guitar on “Give Me All Your Love.”
Whitesnake Greatest Hits focuses extensively on three blockbuster albums the band released during the 1980s: 1984’s Slide It In (2x platinum), 1987’s Whitesnake (8x platinum), and 1989’s Slip Of The Tongue (platinum). But the collection goes deeper with songs like “Sweet Lady Luck,” a b-side on the 12” single for “The Deeper The Love,” and “Forevermore,” the title track from the band’s 2011 album.
Whitesnake have embarked upon a farewell tour with special guest, Europe. Coverdale said: “I pray every day we can all make this happen & once again, share unforgettable evenings together & celebrate the amazing journey we have been on for almost 50 years!!!”

TIM 'RIPPER' OWENS Recruits JAMEY JASTA To Produce New Studio AlbumFormer JUDAS PRIEST singer Tim "Ripper" Owens has started working on new music produced by Jamey Jasta (HATEBREED) and Nick Bellmore (JASTA, DEE SNIDER). Players on the effort, which will contain Owens's "heaviest songs yet," include Nick Bellmore, Charlie Bellmore (DEE SNIDER, ex-TOXIC HOLOCAUST) on guitar, and Chris Beaudette (JASTA, ENTEIRRO) on bass.
A teaser for the album is available below.
Jasta states: "Ripper has been one of my favorite voices in metal since [JUDAS PRIEST's] 'Jugulator' arrived 25 years ago. His power, range, and work ethic inspire me daily and I cannot wait for the world to hear the crushing new metal tracks we are creating!"
Fans can contribute to the project and get their names in Ripper's "thank you" list for a limited time here.
Released in May 2009, Owens's first solo album, "Play My Game", landed at position No. 66 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200. The CD was released via SPV/Steamhammer. The offering consisted of around a dozen brand-new tracks that Owens composed himself or together with renowned friends, such as Bob Kulick, Chris Caffery (SAVATAGE, TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA),Mike Callahan (ex-EARSHOT) and John Comprix (BEYOND FEAR, RINGWORM).
Owens is without doubt among the most important metal vocalists of the past 25 years. When he succeeded Rob Halford, joining JUDAS PRIEST in May 1996, the press rubbed their eyes, surprised as well as impressed: Owens had previously been a fairly unknown quantity to international music journalists and only a few new of him from the band WINTERS BANE, but he recorded his first PRIEST album, the Grammy-nominated "Jugulator" (1997) with more aplomb than even insiders had expected. Following successful tours with the British metal legends, the strong studio recording "Demolition" (2001) and the live recordings "Meltdown - 98 Live" (1998) and "Live In London" (2003),and the movie "Rock Star" that was loosely based on Tim's experience with JUDAS PRIEST, Halford's return put an end to Owens's stint with PRIEST. More or less immediately, he was enlisted by Jon Schaffer to team up with ICED EARTH and sang on "The Glorious Burden" in spring 2004. Three years later, Owens followed suit with the ICED EARTH album "Framing Armageddon (Something Wicked Pt. I)", which succeeded the self-titled highly praised debut by his own band BEYOND FEAR. Spring 2008 saw Owens move on to join one of the world's best guitar players Yngwie Malmsteen, debuting with a sensational vocal performance on "Perpetual Flame".
Owens is currently the frontman of KK'S PRIEST, featuring fellow former JUDAS PRIEST member K.K. Downing.

SATYRICON's FROST Says His Band Is 'Always Going Through A Constant Evolution'Drummer Kjetil-Vidar "Frost" Haraldstad of Norwegian black metallers SATYRICON spoke to Heavy New York about how he and his bandmates have progressed musical since the group's inception three decades ago. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "The way I see it, SATYRICON is always going through a constant evolution. We have always emphasized the importance and the meaning of creativity and innovation and boldness and daring to try something new because we see black metal as a genre that was born through creativity. It was born through bands that dared to go where other bands hadn't been going before them. They took things further in many, many ways, made their music harder and rawer than anything that was really done before that, and they brought some darkness into this that you didn't really have before. There were some attempts perhaps, but before the very first black metal bands, you didn't really have it in that sense. And also many of these bands showed a great pioneering spirit and there was a lot of avant-garde work going on. And these elements were very, very important, and through SATYRICON we have always tried to cultivate these elements and really make it a part of our musical DNA to cultivate that creativity. And then that is your starting point. I think that the band will go through lots of changes, and sometimes the evolution will happen in a very, very significant way from album to album, other times perhaps at a slightly slower pace, but it will always be there."
He continued: "I think that a band like SATYRICON has always been really bound to seek new musical territory and to constantly renew ourselves, and it's also a natural part of our way of operating too, to seek new ways of working and to see whether we should try to bring in something that we have never had before and that we don't really even master, and see if it is a resource that we actually manage to bring into the band and make the whole thing grow."
In a unique collaboration with the world-famous Munch museum in Oslo, Norway, SATYRICON recently created a musical composition in album format, titled "Satyricon & Munch", which was made available last month on all digital platforms. The new music, created by SATYRICON mastermind SATYRICON frontman Sigurd "Satyr" Wongraven, is written in the shape of a so-called musical work, it is 56 minutes long and transcends any genre barriers. The critically acclaimed art exhibition of the same title is on display at the Munch museum in Oslo until August 28.
SATYRICON's latest regular collection of original material, "Deep Calleth Upon Deep", was released in September 2017 via Napalm Records. The disc was recorded in Oslo, Norway and Vancouver, Canada, during early 2017 and mixed together with revered studio guru Mike Fraser (who previously worked on SATYRICON's 2006 album, "Now, Diabolical").
SATYRICON's first two albums, 1993's "Dark Medieval Times" and 1994's "The Shadowthrone", were released as remixed and remastered reissues with altered cover artworks, in May 2021 via Napalm Records.

KILFEATHER To Release Armchair Revolutionaries Album In AugustPsych rock outfit, Kilfeather, are set to release their new album, Armchair Revolutionaries, on all digital platforms, via Riot Records/Golden Robot Records on August 12.
Armchair Revolutionaries is a neo art punk atom bomb filled with fury and oozing vats of psychedelic madness. Landing on planet earth from Golden Robot Global Entertainment's Riot Records, Kilfeather is back from the cosmic warp of space to deliver a brand new 13 track cacophony of freak-out musical consciousness.
Armchair Revolutionaries is a reflection of our torn society within the broken mirror of time. With wailing angst for every wrong turn we have made against the frame of our universe, Kilfeather screams with every bit of intention. These songs are a DIY hive-mind collection of hymns about deteriorating mental health disguised in velvet cloaks of fuzz-drenched guitars and heavy, gelatinous hooked choruses.
Written, performed, and recorded entirely by Kilfeather himself, this album packs both a concrete punch and razor-sharp bite. The raw energy breaks down the barricades from your speakers and bombards your ears in a war like fashion.
Pre-order/add/save Armchair Revolutionaries here.

DEFACING GOD Share Guitar Playthrough Video For "Rise Of The Trinity"Extreme melodic death metal upstarts, Defacing God, command notice with their hauntingly dark and refreshingly honest debut album, The Resurrection Of Lilith, set for release on September 2 via Napalm Records. The record marks a multifaceted, grim and bludgeoning escape that spans the arc between raw death metal and symphonic grandiosity with ease, showcasing Defacing God’s ambition to bewitch metal fans around the world with their sonic universe.
With their conceptual themes, the Denmark based outfit focuses on the seeping darkness that moves in us all – rooted in occultism and witchcraft, but primarily the mythologically mysterious female demon Lilith and her tales of fervent defiance and perseverance.
Opening this infernal chapter, Defacing God recently unveiled their first single, “Rise Of The Trinity”. Today, they release a guitar playthrough video for the track. Check it out below:
Through their storytelling, music and aesthetic, the band pulls their listeners into a dark universe of obscure myths, folklore and ancient stories, all the while weaving in often subtle lyrical inspirations from modern societal oppressions and personal demons. Sonically, Defacing God balance massive extreme melodies with a twist of grandiose orchestration by Lars Vinther, echoing the styles of artists such as Cradle of Filth, Carach Angren and Dimmu Borgir. But rather than blend it with a conventional dose of black metal, the band proudly merges these auras with infernal death metal. Additionally, The Resurrection Of Lilith was produced by Jacob Hansen – known for his work with Fleshgod Apocalypse, Volbeat, Evergrey, Epica and countless others.
Defacing God state: “The stories draw parallels to the ancient, but also the present world where many people (Lilith ́s point of view: women) still have to fight for their freedom and justice. A world where there are still people being oppressed and held down either because of their gender, ethnicity or their personal conviction. We are enslaved by society in so many ways that it ́s even hard to imagine and to comprehend. Furthermore, ‘Lilith’ speaks up for strong bonds, exactly like the one we're having in the metal community. The mission for Lilith, is to send out a message saying that we are stronger if we truly stand together and with being free and with the right mindset, we can change the world. In the name of art there should no boundaries and everyone should have the freedom to be their own independent self, to explore and to express as they desire without being judged or oppressed.”
The album arises with a cinematic, chanting introduction, leading the listener into the demonic world of Defacing God. Building up tension to release into an uncompromising melodic, orchestral death metal assault on “The Invocation Part I “Lilith””, the track emerges as the first of three songs introducing female forces of legend as a trinity to be reckoned with – the first being Lilith, Adam’s first wife, who refused to obey and now reigns as a symbol of feminine rage and independency, but also for the darkness found within oneself. Bookending the undeniably strong “The Resurrection” are parts two and three – “The Invocation Part II “Jezebel”” and “The Invocation Part III “Abyzou”” – which lead into “Rise Of The Trinity”. The remainder of The Resurrection Of Lilith proves to be an auditory onslaught of epic proportions, seeing Defacing God unleash their supreme power and full songwriting dynamics with varying yet unrelentingly hard-hitting tracks like “The End of Times”, “Echoes From Fulda”, “Death Followed Like a Plague” and “Enslaved”. Penultimate track “In the Land of Rain and Sorrow” blasts with a blackened, dense wall of sound before the album closes with encapsulating, symphonic “Into the Mist of Memories” – featuring a neo-classically inspired guitar solo.

THE DEAD DAISIES To Release New Album 'Radiance' In SeptemberTHE DEAD DAISIES will release their sixth studio album, "Radiance", on September 30. According to a press release, the LP contains "ten tracks of pure unadulterated brilliant rock. The power of Doug Aldrich and David Lowy's dual guitars provide a wall of sonic nectar. Frontman Glenn Hughes's rock-solid bass grooves and unmatched vocal intensity, still among the greatest rock singers of all time, and the matrix of Brian Tichy's drums set the engine room on fire."
"Radiance" is the second album THE DAISIES have made with esteemed producer Ben Grosse at the helm, recorded at The Mix Room in North Hollywood, California.
The first singles off the album, "Radiance" and "Shine On", went straight to air on radio across the globe, were added to digital playlists and received with open arms by tens of thousands of fans and audiences on THE DEAD DAISIES's summer 2022 European tour.
Said Aldrich: "The new album 'Radiance' is our second album with Ben Grosse producing from top to bottom. We had a great time composing and recording the record and I'm very excited for you all to hear what we put together. Definitely a heavy album but with some cool twists and turns! Hope you all like it."
All the songs on "Radiance" were written by Lowy, Aldrich and Hughes. Tichy returned to THE DAISIES in early 2022 to lay down the drums on "Radiance".
Said Tichy: "I am very much looking forward to the release of 'Radiance', the newest LP from THE DEAD DAISIES! It was great to start off being back in the band by getting together with Doug, Glenn, David, and producer Ben Grosse at his studio dialing in the songs that make up 'Radiance'. It was a very smooth, organized process of jamming with the guys getting all drum grooves and parts just right. The final result is another slab of butt-kicking rock! The guys all brought their A-game and a tight, powerful record was created! I'm looking forward to everyone hearing it and playing more of these songs live in the near future."
"Radiance" will be available as a digipak CD with sticker, gatefold black vinyl with printed inner sleeves and digitally.
Track listing:
01. Face Your Fear
02. Hypnotize Yourself
03. Shine On
04. Radiance
05. Born To Fly
06. Kiss The Sun
07. Courageous

Heavy Metal-Loving Cartoon Characters 'Beavis And Butt-Head': Nine-Minute Preview Of New Paramount+ Animated SeriesMTV's seminal, Gen X-defining "Beavis And Butt-Head" about two cartoon teenagers famous for their nasally laughs and love of heavy metal will return in a new adult animated series, "Mike Judge's Beavis And Butt-Head", which will premiere on the Paramount+ service Thursday, August 4 in the U.S. and will also be available to stream internationally in all territories where the service is available.
A nearly nine-minute clip from "The Special One" episode that debuted during Thursday's (July 21) Comic-Con International: San Diego panel for "Mike Judge's Beavis And Butt-Head" can be seen below.
In "Mike Judge's Beavis And Butt-Head", Beavis and Butt-Head are back and stupider than ever.
"Beavis and Butt-Head were defining voices of a generation, and to this day, the show is one of the most well-known and beloved animated IPs of all time," said Chris McCarthy, president/CEO, Paramount Media Networks and MTV Entertainment Studios. "Mike Judge has reimagined this dynamic duo in a way that is sure to have both old fans and new ones alike laughing out loud — and we couldn't be more excited to bring them back into our rapidly expanding arsenal of hit adult animation."
"Reuniting Beavis and Butt-Head is the smartest dumb move one could make, and we jumped at the opportunity," said Tanya Giles, chief programming officer of streaming for Paramount+. "Only a duo this iconic would bring us to space and back and we're so excited to share their epic, nacho-filled journey with audiences."
The new series follows on the heels of the recently released and critically acclaimed Paramount+ original film "Beavis And Butt-Head Do The Universe", which is now available to stream. The service also hosts the 1996 classic movie "Beavis and Butt-Head Do America", as well as remastered versions of the classic series, with the full library available soon.
Voiced by writer, producer and director Mike Judge, the characters of Beavis and Butt-Head originated in Judge's 1992 short film "Frog Baseball", which was broadcast by MTV's animation showcase "Liquid Television". After MTV commissioned a full series around the characters, "Beavis And Butt-Head" ran for seven seasons from March 8, 1993 to November 28, 1997. The series was revived in 2011 with an eighth season airing on MTV. During its initial run, "Beavis And Butt-Head" received widespread critical acclaim for its satirical, scathing commentary on society. The show's popularity spawned various related media, including the theatrical film "Beavis And Butt-Head Do America" in 1996.

RAVEN To Release 'Leave 'Em Bleeding' Album In SeptemberBritish/American metal legends RAVEN will release their new album, "Leave 'Em Bleeding", on September 30 via SPV/Steamhammer.
Experts agree: Without RAVEN, neither thrash nor speed metal would exist in their current form. The British trio around the Gallagher brothers John (bass, vocals) and Mark (guitar) not only released some of the most important albums of the NWOBHM era, but they also had a lasting influence on an entire generation of musicians in the early 1980s. Much has changed since then, often either becoming vestigial or vanishing completely. RAVEN, however, have persevered, immortalizing themselves in the annals of music history with an imposing presence that continues up to this day. Not least through two studio albums that perfectly represent the recent works of the group: "ExtermiNation" (2015) and "Metal City" (2020).
"In a way, this record is a retrospective on the past seven years, which were hugely important to us, even if they haven't always been easy,", John Gallagher states their songs "Top Of The Mountain", "Metal City", "The Power", "Destroy All Monsters" and "Battle March/Tank Treads". The first three tracks mentioned are from "Metal City", the following two from "ExtermiNation". This glimpse into the past is rounded off by a live version of "Crash Bang Wallop", found in its original version on the 2019 concert album "Screaming Murder Death From Above: Live..." , a special testimony to the boundless power of this band, which — in addition to the Gallagher brothers — is completed by drummer Mike Heller.
As a special gift to their large crowd of followers, RAVEN treats us to six bonus tracks one shouldn't miss out on. It starts with "Necessary Evil", one of the first three RAVEN songs after Mark Gallagher's serious accident in November 2001, when the guitarist was half-buried by a six-meter wall and had to undergo several surgeries to treat his severe injuries. Although the band was back on stage mere two years later, it wasn't until 2009 that they could start working on their comeback album "Walk Through Fire", with "Necessary Evil" as its spectacular finale. Second bonus track is their MONTROSE number "Space Station #5" (Mark Gallagher: "During the early years, we often ended our shows with this song"),followed by "Malice In Geordieland", a superb outtake from the session for "ExtermiNation". Second cover song on "Leave 'Em Bleeding" is RAVEN's take on THIN LIZZY's "Bad Reputation". Gallagher comments: "We've always been total LIZZY fans. I've never seen them live, unfortunately, but their influence on us and many others is huge." Rounding off the list of bonus tracks are "Rock This Town" and "Stay Hard (Live)"; both come with exciting back stories. Gallagher: "'Rock This Town' was produced by Michael Wagener in Nashville in March 2018 and features us as a trio live in the studio. The recording is just too powerful to have it sit in a drawer and collect dust. The live version of 'Stay Hard' is a 2017 recording from The Vanguard in Tulsa, Oklahoma. An employee of the club recorded the show and gave it to us on a flash drive. We haven't played 'Stay Hard' too often, so in that sense the release is a little special."
Six bonus tracks in perfect balance to the six "regular" songs, meaning twelve RAVEN highlights in total that leave you wanting more, especially regarding the concerts that will hopefully be taking place very soon.
"Leave 'Em Bleeding" track listing
01. Top Of The Mountain (3:38)
02. Metal City (3:30)
03. The Power (3:56)
04. Destroy All Monsters (6:05)
05. Battle March / Tank Treads (5:27)
06. Crash Bang Wallop (live) (4:12)
07. Necessary Evil (3.56)
08. Space Station #5 (4:03)
09. Malice In Geordieland (3:04)
10. Bad Reputation (3:09)
11. Rock This Town (3:51)
12. Stay Hard (live) (3:05)
As previously reported, RAVEN will celebrate the 40th anniversary of its seminal album "All For One" with a U.K. tour in 2023.
Originally released in 1983, "All For One" was not only RAVEN's breakout LP, it was also a massively influential slab of classic metal. The band's groundbreaking and high-energy approach was a vital element in the development of thrash.
RAVEN will play "All For One" in full at each show. Support on the trek will come from the U.S. band HELLGRIMM.
Considered part of the "New Wave Of British Heavy Metal" movement of the early '80s, RAVEN is perhaps best remembered for its trailblazing tours in America in the early '80s that gave groups like METALLICA and ANTHRAX their first taste of the road.
RAVEN's albums "Rock Until You Drop", "Wiped Out" and the aforementioned "All For One" virtually invented both the speed metal and power metal genres, with the band consistently pushing the envelope while retaining its unique sound and attack — both in the studio and in their true element: onstage.

DESTRAGE Streaming New Single "Italian Boi"; New Album Available In SeptemberDestrage, who will release their 3DOT Recordings’ debut and sixth full-length album, SO MUCH. too much., on September 16, have released a second track from the collection, unveiling the song "Italian Boi” this morning. Listen here and below.
"Think of someone so ambiguous you can’t decide whether they are colourful characters or chavs, charismatic or toxic, a gentleman or chauvinist, a family man or mama's boy,” explains guitar player Matteo Di Gioia. “Now you’re thinking of the person this song is about. This is not a hate song. In fact, it’s a love song! It's the story of a questionable, heartbreaking, passionate love with cultural twists and clashes."
The band previously previewed the Matteo “Ciube” Tabacco-produced collection, with mixing by Will Putney (A Day To Remember, Every Time I Die), with the frenetic track “Everything Sucks And I Think I’m A Big Part of It” and its accompanying video (see below).
3DOT Recordings co-founder/Periphery drummer Matt Halpern said of the band, and welcoming them to the label: “We all love Destrage! As a band and as people, they’re awesome. Their new record is insane in the most unsurprising way. They’re all amazing musicians who are constantly working on their craft, so it’s no surprise that this is the result of all of that hard work. They’re a ridiculous band and this album destroys. I can’t wait for people to hear it!”
Album pre-orders, which include two limited-edition vinyl variants, CDs and an album themed capsule collection of merchandise, are available now via the 3DOT Recordings’ webstore, here. Digital pre-saves can be found here.

MAX CAVALERA: Don't Blame My Wife For Breakup Of SEPULTURA's Classic LineupSEPULTURA's classic lineup fell apart in 1996 with the exit of frontman Max Cavalera after the rest of the band split with his wife Gloria as their manager. His brother, drummer Igor Cavalera, stuck around with the group for another 10 years before leaving SEPULTURA and re-teaming with Max in CAVALERA CONSPIRACY.
Although SEPULTURA has maintained a diehard fanbase in all parts of the world throughout the band's three-and-a-half-decade-plus history, Max-era albums "Roots" and "Chaos A.D." were by far SEPULTURA's most commercially successful, having both been certified gold in the U.S. for sales in excess of five hundred thousand copies.
In a new interview with "The Dan Chan Show", Max was asked if he thought the rest of the band would continue without him after he chose to leave the group in December 1996. He responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "I think judging by their personalities, yeah, I [thought] they would carry on." As for how he felt about the other members continuing with the band that he co-founded, Max said: "It's really mixed emotions, especially because me and Igor being there in the very, very beginning, and nobody that is in the band [now] was there — not even Paulo [Xisto Pinto Jr., bass] was there in the very beginning. So it's something that feels really personal and sacred that you were there in the very beginning and now you're not. At the same time, it's one of those things in life that just happens and you've gotta move on with other things."
Max continued: "I don't regret it. It's like any thing — it ran its course. One of those things, though, I'll say this, it's extremely frustrating to me that some of the fans don't understand, and it's really easy to blame people for it. And a lot of people end up blaming my wife, Gloria. They always go, 'She broke up the band.' And the truth is we grew apart; we started hating each other, man. It happened to THE BEATLES and it happened to many other bands — PANTERA. It's just how it is. We just didn't find the joy in playing with each other anymore and it was time to move on. So it's a cheap shot to blame her: 'Let's just blame her. She's gotta be the reason why that happened.' And it's, like, no — not at all. We are the reason. I'd rather they blame me than her or somebody else. Blame me for SEPULTURA splitting up. I would much rather prefer that."
Igor and Max have spent much of the last six years celebrating the 20th anniversary of SEPULTURA's "Roots" and 30th anniversary of "Beneath The Remains" and "Arise" albums on tour all over the world.
Back in 2016, SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser told Australia's Loud that he wasn't bothered by the fact that Max and Igor were performing the entire "Roots" album on their tour. "I don't care," he said. "Everyone does whatever they want. If they feel that's good for their career, whatever, man. It doesn't change anything that I do. It's like a… It's weird to comment on something like that, because, for me, it's weird. [Laughs] I don't see the point. They have so many different projects. Actually, they left SEPULTURA for those projects, and now they're playing SEPULTURA. I don't understand that kind of attitude. But whatever, man. I respect any type of opinion, and, of course, I don't agree with them all, but people are free to do whatever they want. You just have to live with the consequences — that's all."
Kisser said in a September 2014 interview that all the talk of a reunion of the band's classic lineup was "a pain in the ass," and added that the band was angered by "all the pressure of this reunion bullshit, especially coming from that side, especially Max and Gloria always touching that subject."
He continued: "You know, since [Max] left the band, we are used to deal with that, but there's a time that it's enough. I mean, in the end, it was his choice to leave the band; we never fired anybody, we just fired our manager — we fired Gloria — but we never fired Max or Igor or [ex-SEPULTURA drummer] Jean [Dolabella]. Everybody left the band because they didn't feel it was the right place to be. And that's fine. You cannot [force] anybody to be there just to be there as a puppet."
SEPULTURA's current lineup — Paulo, Andreas, vocalist Derrick Green and drummer Eloy Casagrande — released its latest album, "Quadra", in February 2020 via Nuclear Blast Records.

TIM BOWNESS Debuts Official Music Video For New Single "Glitter Fades"Tim Bowness returns with his seventh solo album, Butterfly Mind, due for release on August 5. Produced in conjunction with long-time collaborator Brian Hulse, and mixed & mastered by Steven Wilson, this new album is his most eclectic release to date.
Today sees the launch of "Glitter Fades", the fourth track to be released from the album. Watch the video below.
With a lyric evoking the elegance and decadence of a group of artists from The Roaring Twenties, "Glitter Fades" is a surreal and cinematic contemporary Electro-Ballroom piece. Written and produced by Tim and Brian Hulse, the song features The Hushtones’ Martha Goddard on guest vocals and Stephen W Tayler (Kate Bush) on clarinet.
The atmospheric video by David K Jones (Plenty) beautifully taps into the nostalgic feel of the music.
Tim says, “This is one of those pieces where the lyric closely follows the evocative nature of the music. There’s a weird sense of ‘future nostalgia’ about Glitter Fades and the lyric revolves around the thoughts of a group of artists who once had the ears and eyes of the world, but now exist in a state of limbo unaware that both they and the culture they forged are long dead and forgotten. The party has well and truly ended. Stephen W Tayler’s swirling clarinet and Martha Goddard’s ghostly backing vocals ramp up The Gold Room from The Shining atmosphere!”
Tim’s seventh solo album - his sixth for InsideOutMusic / Sony - features the rhythm section of Richard Jupp (ex-Elbow) and Nick Beggs alongside a spectacular guest list including Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull), Dave Formula (Magazine), Peter Hammill (Van Der Graaf Generator), Martha Goddard (The Hushtones), Gregory Spawton (Big Big Train), Mark Tranmer (The Montgolfier Brothers / GNAC), Saro Cosentino (Franco Battiato), Italian Jazz musician Nicola Alesini, US singer Devon Dunaway (Ganga), Stephen W Tayler (Kate Bush) and, marking his first studio work with Tim for nearly three decades, former No-Man violinist Ben Coleman.
Butterfly Mind will be available as a Limited 2CD Edition (incl. alternative mixes and outtakes), as well as a Limited Edition 180g LP+CD featuring a striking die-cut artwork by Carl Glover. Burning Shed have an exclusive green vinyl edition, and you can pre-order here.

DEVILDRIVER Welcome Back Original Bassist JON MILLER, Introduce New Guitarist ALEX LEEHeavy groove metal pioneers, DevilDriver, are ready to usher in a new era of the band’s venerable history. Today, the group is excited to welcome back original bassist Jon Miller after more than a decade’s long absence from the scene. In addition to this epic reunion, DevilDriver has also added guitarist Alex Lee (Holy Grail) to the lineup, replacing Neal Tiemann.
DevilDriver is also gearing up to head out on tour this fall, with more information coming very soon.
Remarking on his return to the band, Miller comments: “After spending the past 10 years away from writing music, recording, and touring, I have made the decision to return to DevilDriver to settle some unfinished business with two lifelong friends.”
Frontman Dez Fafara comments on Miller’s return to the lineup, sharing: “Jon is a monster on bass and wrote much of our early material. We began talking daily and it just felt right… and having him onstage again will be absolutely pummeling technically and visually! For the fans that have seen the band with Jon in it, please welcome him back. And for those of you who haven’t, get ready because he holds it down! Having most of the OG members in the band now after almost 20 years feels good! Get ready because we have a massive tour announcement coming in August! It’s been since July 2019 that we’ve toured, and the break was needed. The fire is there now and we are ready to destroy stages!”
Lead guitarist Mike Spreitzer adds: “It’s been a solid decade since I’ve shared the stage with Jon Miller, and I’m thrilled to have him back in DevilDriver. Without him, I probably wouldn’t be in the band. He was one of the first friends I made when I moved to Santa Barbara in 1999 that eventually lead to me joining DevilDriver. I’m very much looking forward to getting out on the road and having him with us again.”
Speaking on the departure of former bassist Diego ‘Ashes’ Ibarra, the members share:
Dez: “It’s always difficult letting guys go in any line of work, but we thank Ashes for his time playing with DevilDriver on tour. I’m sad I had to let him go, but to make way for an original member was the right thing to do. We wish him the best and he’s a great guy.”
Mike: “Ashes has been an amazing addition to the DevilDriver family over the years. He’s one of the most solid and fun guys I have ever had the honor to call my friend. I’m going to miss our 3-4 hour long morning coffee sessions that we shared since he joined. He will forever be my brother.”
Along with the return of Miller, DevilDriver welcomes Alex Lee, who many will know from his time in the band Holy Grail.
Speaking on his past encounters and shared comradery with the DevilDriver family, Lee shares: "Back in 2016, I had the privilege of touring with DevilDriver with my old band (Holy Grail). We got along great and kept in touch over the years. Fast forward to the present, I am thrilled to announce that I'll be joining the DevilDriver family! Dez made the final call to give me this opportunity that I couldn't pass up. Great guys, heavy music, and I can't wait to see you all on the road!"
Dez comments on Lee’s addition, saying: “Alex is a bad ass on guitar and one of the most talented guys I’ve seen in years. He gets along well with the band, he’s a great writer, and onstage he brings the energy. We welcome him and look forward to years of good times.”
Stay tuned for more news on the band’s upcoming touring and album release plans.

Official RONNIE JAMES DIO Documentary 'DIO: Dreamers Never Die' To Be Released At The End Of The SummerRonnie James Dio's wife and longtime manager Wendy Dio spoke to Andy Hall of the Des Moines, Iowa radio station Lazer 103.3 about the status of "Dio: Dreamers Never Die", the career-spanning documentary on the life and times of the legendary rock icon, which received its world premiere this past March at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas. She said: "We did a lot of different film festivals. You go to film festivals to get a buyer for the film. And we have secured a buyer. And it will come out at the end of summer in theaters; it'll be in theaters the end of summer."
At the SXSW Film Festival, several music personalities who were involved in the making of the film — Wendy, BLACK SABBATH bassist Geezer Butler and former SKID ROW singer Sebastian Bach — took part in a panel, "Dreamers Never Die: The Enduring Power Of Metal" panel, hosted by SiriusXM's Eddie Trunk at Austin Convention Center. Video of the discussion is available below.
"Dio: Dreamers Never Die" is the first documentary about Dio to be fully authorized by the artist's estate. According to the film's official description, it "delves deep into his incredible rise from '50s doo-wop crooner to his early classic rock days in Ritchie Blackmore's RAINBOW, to replacing the iconic lead singer Ozzy Osbourne in BLACK SABBATH, to finally cement his legend with DIO. Ronnie's biography is completely unique to the tired sex, drugs and rock and roll clichés. The film is about perseverance, dreams and the power to believe in yourself."
"Dio: Dreamers Never Die" was financed solely by BMG and was helmed by Don Argott and Demian Fenton ("Framing John DeLorean", "Believer", "Last Days Here"),produced by Don Argott and Sheena Joyce for 9.14 Pictures, and executive produced by Wendy Dio for Niji Productions and Kathy Rivkin Daum for BMG.
Ronnie James Dio's story transcends the standard rock documentary. Set against the backdrop of Dio's autobiography — half finished by Ronnie before his untimely death from stomach cancer in 2010 — the film chronicles the inspiring journey of his life, love, and storied career. Whether playing sold-out stadiums or battling illness, his powerful voice and gentle heart have had a profound influence on his family, friends, and fans around the world.
Wendy recently told Argentinian journalist Lucas Gordon about "Dio: Dreamers Never Die": "I saw the first cut of it. It was very emotional. It's very different from [Dio's autobiography]. 'Cause the book finishes in 1986, with Ronnie playing Madison Square Garden. But the documentary goes all the way through his life till the end. And it was very emotional. I was watching it with my publicist and a person from BMG, who are funding the documentary. And we all cried. It was very emotional. But it's really interesting and really good. Rob Halford is great in it, talking about stories. Lita Ford [and] Jack Black [are also in it]. Eddie Trunk and Mick Wall [author of Dio's autobiography] both kind of narrated it and everything. I'm very pleased with it."
Last August, Wendy told SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk" about what fans can expect to see in the documentary: "There's a bunch of stuff from [old] Super 8 [tapes] and some other stuff. There's fantastic interviews with all kinds of different people about when they were working with Ronnie or what they were doing at the time, maybe supporting Ronnie. It's totally different to the [recently released Dio] book. And I'm very interested to see this cut. I'm excited, actually, to see it. And I think it's gonna be great."
In October 2019, Wendy told the WSOU radio station that the documentary "will go from Ronnie's childhood all the way through [to the end of his life]. I think they interviewed Jack Black, and I think they interviewed all of Ronnie's bandmembers and Doug Aldrich and, I think, Jeff Pilson. They were getting ready to go to Arizona to interview Rob Halford and Lita Ford. And then they were going into England to interview Tony Iommi. They already did Geezer. So there will be very interesting stories from different people. I think it'll be a great thing, and it'll show people a lot of things that people have never seen before."
Ronnie James Dio passed away of stomach cancer on May 16, 2010 at the age of 67.
Dio was renowned throughout the world as one of the greatest and most influential vocalists in heavy metal history. The singer, who was recording and touring with BLACK SABBATH offshoot HEAVEN & HELL prior to his illness, was diagnosed with stomach cancer in late 2009. He underwent chemotherapy and made what is now his final public appearance in April 2010 at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards in Los Angeles.
Dio's autobiography, titled "Rainbow In The Dark: The Autobiography", was released in July 2021 via Permuted Press.

AEROSMITH's JOE PERRY Talks 50th-Anniversary Tour Plans, Upcoming Box SetIn a new interview with WMMR's Brent Porche, Joe Perry spoke about AEROSMITH's touring plans to celebrate the band's 50th anniversary. The guitarist said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "I think that the Fenway show [in Boston in September], being able to pick a date and go, 'That's when we wanna play there,' it's kind of tough. But coincidentally, it's a really good time to kind of kick it off. And then, I don't know; we're not quite sure what we're gonna do. I would like to play some of the places we haven't played in 30 years. It's really about scheduling and trying to mount a tour, and then we'll see what we can do with it. It's kind of like with Fenway… That's gonna be the kick-off, I think."
Perry went on to reveal that AEROSMITH is working on a "box set that kind of hits on every decade and some videos to go along with it." He explained: "In the first, say, 30 years of our career, finding video is really hard. With everybody having a camera [now], the show you're doing is literally online within [minutes]; some of it's streamed. So the [recent] shows are up there; finding video from the last 20 years, it's not a problem. It's finding the stuff that you like.
"As it turns out, we actually shot a bunch of songs because the record companies would use them to promote… When they would have these get-togethers every years, all the record companies would show what they have coming out and the latest this and the latest that, so they would shoot promotional videos," he continued. "So they weren't quite what we know as the MTV-style videos. So we're digging down and finding some of that stuff. And then there's some people that actually had some video from… 'Cause back then, it was a big camera and they had cartridges that lasted three minutes, so to get a whole song on one, you had to have at least two cameras going.
"I actually started carrying a camera with me, and when we played the Silverdome in Detroit [in 1976] — I think we were the second band to play there and the first band to fill it; it was, like, 80,000 seats. It was wild… Anyway, I remember sending somebody up with my camera — way up into the bleachers or whatever — and by the time they got it focused and kind of brought the lens close enough, you couldn't even tell who was playing. Most cameras didn't have sound either, but this one did. And it was kind of rough version of whatever we were playing… I mean, stuff keeps popping up. Fans will say 'I've got a piece of this' or 'I took some video of that', but it's bits and pieces. Most of it are still pictures. We're constantly finding the stuff."
Two months ago, AEROSMITH announced that singer Steven Tyler had entered a treatment program following a recent relapse, prompting the band to put their Las Vegas residency on a temporary hold.
When AEROSMITH announced Tyler's return to rehab in late May, the band said in a statement that the 74-year-old underwent foot surgery in preparation for the group's return to the stage, and in managing his pain, suffered a relapse.
AEROSMITH said at the time it was canceling the June and July dates of the "Deuces Are Wild" residency, which was slated to begin at Dolby Live at Park MGM on June 17.
Last month, AEROSMITH drummer Joey Kramer's wife Linda Gail Kramer died at the age of 55. No cause of death has been revealed.
This past March, Joey announced that he would sit out AEROSMITH's concerts in 2022 so he can "focus his full attention on his family during these uncertain times," according to a statement from the legendary rockers. While Kramer "takes a temporary leave of absence" from AEROSMITH, he will once again be replaced by his drum tech, John Douglas. "[Kramer] and the band look forward to his future performances with AEROSMITH," the statement added. 1

Hear OZZY OSBOURNE's New Single 'Degradation Rules' Featuring TONY IOMMIOzzy Osbourne has released a new single, "Degradation Rules". The track, which features a guest appearance by Ozzy's BLACK SABBATH bandmate Tony Iommi, is taken from Ozzy's new album, "Patient Number 9", which will arrive on September 9. The LP's title track, featuring a guest appearance by legendary guitarist Jeff Beck, was made available last month. Artist and comic book creator Todd McFarlane directed the music video for the song.
"Patient Number 9" track listing:
01. Patient Number 9 (feat. Jeff Beck)
02. Immortal (feat. Mike McCready)
03. Parasite (feat. Zakk Wylde)
04. No Escape From Now (feat. Tony Iommi)
05. One Of Those Days (feat. Eric Clapton)
06. A Thousand Shades (feat. Jeff Beck)
07. Mr. Darkness (feat. Zakk Wylde)
08. Nothing Feels Right (feat. Zakk Wylde)
09. Evil Shuffle (feat. Zakk Wylde)
10. Degradation Rules (feat. Tony Iommi)
11. Dead And Gone
12. God Only Knows
13. Darkside Blues
Last year, Ozzy told SiriusXM that the lyrics for "Patient Number 9", which he co-wrote with producer Andrew Watt, were inspired by his relationship with his wife and manager, Sharon.
"The song is about a mental institution," Ozzy said.
In the track, Osbourne sings: "When they call your name, better run and hide / Tell you you're insane, you believe their lies / I'm not getting out, no I'm not getting out alive / I'm not getting out, 'cause I'm patient number 9."
Regarding Beck's contribution to the song, Ozzy said: "Having someone like Jeff Beck play on my album is just incredible, a total honor. There's no other guitar player that plays like him and his solo on 'Patient Number 9' is just jaw-dropping."
As for his renewed collaboration with Iommi, Ozzy said: "It was really great working with Tony. He's the riff master. No one can touch him in that respect. I only wish we had these songs for BLACK SABBATH's '13' album."
"Patient Number 9" includes an appearance by RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS drummer Chad Smith, who played on Ozzy's last studio album, 2020's "Ordinary Man".
This past March, Smith revealed during an interview with the "Talk Is Jericho" podcast that the new Ozzy album would also feature Robert Trujillo (METALLICA) and Duff McKagan (GUNS N' ROSES).
Chad went on to say that "the English royalty of guitar players" has been recruited to guest on Osbourne's new album. "Tony Iommi and Ozzy have never collaborated outside of BLACK SABBATH," he said. "Tony sent us a bunch of riffs and we took what we thought was the best of 'em, which was fucking great. So Andy's on the bass doing fucking great — the bass on the song is amazing. And Tony sent us the riffs — files; he's in England — and we played to it. It's fucking got everything. It's got all the stuff that you would want. Ozzy loves it. And so he's on that track. Then Eric Clapton plays a fucking wah-wah CREAM-type solo. We're, like, 'Eric, can you solo on this song? Wah-wah, please. Eric, what do you think about this, with the wah-wah?' Because that's his fucking thing. And so he's soloing all over this other track. Then Jeff Beck is on two songs. We tried to get Jimmy Page [LED ZEPPELIN], we tried to get the holy trinity, but I don't think Page plays anymore too much, unfortunately. But Mike McCready's [PEARL JAM] on a track. Josh Homme, my neighbor from QUEENS [OF THE STONE AGE], solos on a track. And then Zakk Wylde [BLACK LABEL SOCIETY] is on the record as well, all over it. So it's like if you're a guitar player, [it's] pretty fucking good."
Last year, Ozzy confirmed that 15 songs had been recorded for his follow-up to "Ordinary Man". In October, he told Metal Hammer magazine that his new album will be "similar in tone to 'Ordinary Man', but I can't describe it completely. I've not heard it for a while because it keeps going over to the next person to add their parts — we're fucking around with it all the time," he said.
Watt connected with Osbourne after meeting Ozzy's daughter Kelly at a friend's party and pitching her on the idea of Post Malone and Ozzy collaborating together.
In December 2020, Watt told Guitar World that Ozzy's next album would feature guest appearances by a number of notable musicians. "There's a bunch of people involved," he said. "I can't say for sure until the end, but I started doing a bunch of basic tracks with Chad and Robert Trujillo, who used to play in Ozzy's band. And Taylor Hawkins [FOO FIGHTERS] also came in and played a bunch on the record as well, which adds a different flair — it kind of harkened back to Ozzy's '80s era, in a great way. And I think it's so cool for a rock fan to be able to listen to half an album with Chad Smith on drums, and then you flip it over and you get to hear Taylor Hawkins. And you know, the last album was really special for everyone involved. And so there was no point in Ozzy or me doing this again unless we thought we could bring something new to the table. And I feel like we're achieving that."
