FEAR FACTORY Announces 'Aggression Continuum' Album; 'Disruptor' Single Due Next WeekFEAR FACTORY will release its first new song in over five years, "Disruptor", on Friday, April 16. The track will appear on the band's upcoming album, "Aggression Continuum", due later in the year via Nuclear Blast Records.
A short riff teaser from the new FEAR FACTORY LP, courtesy of the band's guitarist Dino Cazares, is available below.
Last September, singer Burton C. Bell issued a statement officially announcing his departure from FEAR FACTORY, saying that he "cannot align" himself with someone whom he does not trust or respect.
Bell's exit from FEAR FACTORY came more than two weeks after Cazares launched a GoFundMe campaign to assist him with the production costs associated with the release of FEAR FACTORY's long-awaited new LP.
Bell later told Kerrang! magazine that his split with FEAR FACTORY was a long time coming. "It's been on my mind for a while," he said. "These lawsuits [over the rights to the FEAR FACTORY name] just drained me. The egos. The greed. Not just from bandmembers, but from the attorneys involved. I just lost my love for it.
"With FEAR FACTORY, it's just constantly been, like, 'What?!' You can only take so much. I felt like 30 years was a good run. Those albums I've done with FEAR FACTORY will always be out there. I'll always be part of that. I just felt like it was time to move forward."
Pressed about whether there is any chance of a reconciliation with FEAR FACTORY down the line, Burton said: "I'm done. I haven't spoken to Dino in three years. I haven't spoken to Raymond [Herrera, drums] and Christian [Olde Wolbers, bass] in longer than that, and I have no intention to. I'm just moving forward with my life."
In October, Dino issued a statement in which he said that the door for Burton to come back to FEAR FACTORY wouldn't "stay open forever." The guitarist also revealed that Burton "lost his legal rights" to the FEAR FACTORY name "after a long court battle" with Herrera and Olde Wolbers. "I had the opportunity to do something right, and I felt that obtaining the name in full was the right thing to do for the both of us, so after nearly four years we can continue as FEAR FACTORY, to make more records and to tour," he said. "That is why it is sad to hear that he decided to quit and, in my opinion, for whatever issues he has it seems like it could've been worked out."
In explaining his reasons for starting a fundraising campaign, Cazares said that all donations will go toward covering newly incurred production costs involved with the making of the new FEAR FACTORY LP, including re-recording the drums, guitars, bass and keyboards, as well as mixing and mastering by Andy Sneap. Burton's original lead vocals, which were recorded in full in 2017, will remain on the new version of the album.
FEAR FACTORY's fundraising campaign marked the first public activity from the band since it completed a 2016 U.S. headlining tour on which it performed its classic second album, "Demanufacture", in its entirety.
Bell's ASCENSION OF THE WATCHERS project released its second full-length album, "Apocrypha", last October via Dissonance Productions.

Watch Pro-Shot Video Of GUNS N' ROSES Performing In Brasília, BrazilGUNS N' ROSES has released video footage of the band's November 20, 2016 performance at Estádio Mané Garrincha in Brasília, Brazil. The 36-minute clip is part of the GN'R web series dubbed "Not In This Lifetime Selects" featuring highlights from the four-year "Not In This Lifetime" tour.
Featured songs:
00:18 - "It's So Easy"
03:35 - "Welcome To The Jungle"
09:44 - "Sorry"
16:10 - "Rocket Queen"
26:54 - "Used To Love Her"
30:18 - "Nightrain"
In a recent interview with Guitar Player's "No Guitar Is Safe" podcast, Slash spoke about what it felt like for him to step back out on stage with GUNS N' ROSES for the first time in over two decades at the band's April 2016 concert at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, California.
"That was our first gig back," the guitarist said. "I think probably the last time that we ever played there was in 1985. I don't think we even played there in 1986. Probably '85 was the last time we played there. "[The April 2016 concert was] our first show together after 20 years. We obviously had more gear and more crew than we did back in the day, I'll tell you that much. And it was loud. But it was a lot of fun. It was an almost poignant moment to fucking stand there and look at that crowd in that sort of room and have that kind of nostalgic feeling."
In 2019, Slash told Guitar.com that his first concert back with GUNS N' ROSES was an "overwhelming" experience. "It was so cool," he said. "Because it was a long time — we're talking more than 20 years from the last show in 1994… it was 22 years since the last time we'd played together. And obviously I'd played with [bassist] Duff [McKagan] [since then] but there's a certain dynamic in the three of us together. It was awesome, and it's a really great experience."
Earlier this week, GUNS N' ROSES postponed its European tour for a second time due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2019, "Not In This Lifetime" became the No. 3 highest-grossing tour in the history of Billboard Boxscore.
"Not in This Lifetime" featured classic-lineup members Slash (guitar), McKagan and Axl Rose (vocals) backed by guitarist Richard Fortus, drummer Frank Ferrer, keyboardist Dizzy Reed and second keyboardist Melissa Reese.
GUNS kicked off its long-rumored and long-awaited reunion tour with the aforementioned club show in Hollywood and appearances in Las Vegas and at California's Coachella festival.
The band is now reportedly working on a new studio album — the first under the GUNS banner since 2008's "Chinese Democracy" and the first to feature Rose, Slash and McKagan since 1993.

The band have signed a new two-album deal with Off Yer Rocka (Heavy Rocka Records) joining such stellar artists as The Quireboys, Twister, Ryders Creed, Gorilla Riot, Ward XVI, Black Aces, Gin Annie, and Massive.
"We are totally thrilled to have joined the Hard Rock Hell Empire, by signing to Off Yer Rocka (Heavy Rocka Records). The support their DJ's and community have given us has been incredible. DESTINY’S END Feat. HELSTAR’s JAMES RIVERA – Jolly Roger Records Reissues Breathe Deep The Dark, Transition Albums On VinylItaly’s Jolly Roger Records has released vinyl reissues of both Destiny’s End albums – Breathe Deep The Dark (1998) and Transition (2001). Though both discs were originally pressed by Metal Blade Records on CD, this marks their first outing as 12” records.
For the uninitiated, Destiny’s End were a Los Angeles-based power metal band born in 1997, when three ex-New Eden members (guitarist Dan DeLucie, bassist Nardo Andi and drummer Brian Craig), joined forces with Helstar vocalist James Rivera and new guitarist recruit Perry M. Grayson. Between 1997 and 2001, Destiny’s End was signed to Metal Blade Records, releasing two full-length albums and touring both in the U.S. and Europe with the likes of Iced Earth, Nevermore, Mercyful Fate, Sacred Steel and Wardog. The European tour culminated in a set at the illustrious Wacken Open Air Festival in Germany.
Destiny’s End played a unique blend of technical, melodic power metal with heavy riffs, catchy hooks and thought provoking lyrics. The intricate guitar work of Dan DeLucie and Perry Grayson combined with the thunderous and precise rhythm section of Andi and Craig, provided the perfect vibe for Rivera’s high-ranged vocals. While DE was influenced by such icons as Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Mercyful Fate, Savatage, Sanctuary, Fates Warning and Death, they were a unique band with their own unique identity.
The Breathe Deep The Dark LP features a long-lost DE tune, “Thief Of Life,” which was initially tagged for use as a Japanese bonus track. As Breathe Deep The Dark was never issued in Japan, the track hasn’t been heard by most of the metal scene. Breathe Deep The Dark was co-produced and recorded by legendary Metal Blade house engineer Bill Metoyer.
The Transition LP is a very special and rare gem. It marks the first time metalheads will get to hear co-producer/engineer Joe Floyd’s original March 2000 mix of the album. Floyd (also guitarist for the band Warrior) completed the first Transition mix at his studio, Silver Cloud, which was rejected by Metal Blade. The finished CD, released in 2001, was remixed by Achim Koehler without input from any of the DE members.
“Joe’s mix of Transition is my preferred version of Transition! I’m truly stoked that people will finally get to hear it the way we intended!” enthuses axeman Perry Grayson. Grayson left DE in April of 2000 just after Floyd finished his mix, but his guitar tracks remained on the finished product. His picture was replaced on the Transition CD booklet by one of fill-in guitarist Eric Halpern, but that situation has been rectified on the new vinyl version.
Both gatefold LPs were mastered for vinyl by Patrick Engel and feature comprehensive liner notes by Perry Grayson.
Following the release of Transition, Destiny's End inexplicably disappeared. Guitarist Dan DeLucie joined forces with the late singer Michael Grant (ex-Onward) and released two Crescent Shield albums. Perry Grayson founded vintage-style heavy rock power trio Falcon, releasing a self-titled debut (2004) and Die Wontcha (2008), which also featured Cirith Ungol member Greg Lindstrom. Grayson also took part in Solstice guitarist Rich Walker’s Isen Torr project. Drummer Brian Craig was later heard alongside James Rivera in Seven Witches. In the years following the release of Transition, Rivera has revived Helstar, among other projects.

SHUMAUN Issue “Memories Of Water” Single Feat. Former FATES WARNING Drummer MARK ZONDERWashington DC based prog rock band Shumaun have released a music video for their new single “Memories Of Water.” The song features Mark Zonder (ex-Fates Warning) on drums and was mixed/mastered by Brett Caldas-Lima (Cynic, Pain of Salvation, Megadeth) over at Tower Studio. The new single is taken from the band's upcoming album, Memories & Intuition, which is set to be released this summer (TBA). The new album is Shumaun's third studio effort since breaking into the scene with their self-titled debut in 2015.
“I really wanted ‘Memories Of Water’ to be straightforward, catchy, and melodic when I wrote it. Even though there’s interesting time changes in the bridge, it doesn’t sound abrasive,” says vocalist/guitarist Farhad Hossain. “The song truly represents the essence of what we set aside to do as a band, which is to write melodic rock songs utilizing some of our more progressive influences,” bassist Jose Mora elaborated.
While the new album is set to release later in 2021, the band wanted to release a new single much in advance since COVID-19 delayed the recording process so much. “It felt really good to be recording music again after so long because of the quarantine. I can’t wait to play live again,” says guitarist Tyler Kim.
The video for "Memories Of Water" celebrates the long-enduring friendship between the members of the band, highlighted by clips taken from home videos throughout the ‘90s and early 2000s.

THE TREATMENT Release New Single "Devil In The Detail"; New Album AvailableThe Treatment released their new studio album, Waiting For Good Luck, on April 9th, marking the occasion with new single "Devil In The Detail". Check it out below.
Waiting For Good Luck is the fifth full-length album from British hard rockers The Treatment. Showcasing an intense sonic power only hinted at thus far, The Treatment is truly firing on all cylinders now. A first listen will instantly reveal hulking riffs and memorable choruses and further listens reveal more and more as the listener delves into this love letter to hard rock. Waiting For Good Luck truly is a classic album in the making.
Produced by UK rock maestro Laurie Mansworth (Airrace) and mixed by Kevin Shirley (Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, Black Country Communion, etc.), Waiting For Good Luck is The Treatment’s second album featuring Tom Rampton on vocals (new bass player Andy Milburn joined after the recording of the album). Rampton's raspy, whisky-soaked vocal style suits the band's driving, hard rock style perfectly and the results of him having toured with and gelled further with the band can really be heard distinctly here.
A magnificent slice of groove-laden, fist-pumping, unapologetic rock 'n roll anthems, which showcase a band hungry for more and showing no signs of slowing down, Waiting For Good Luck is the most realized offering yet from The Treatment.
“We honestly all believe this album is a huge step forward for The Treatment and we can't wait for you to hear it. We will be touring as soon as circumstances will allow us and we look forward to seeing all you Treatment troops at our shows next year,” says the band.

DIRTY HONEY Stream "Gypsy" From Forthcoming Debut AlbumAfter a string of chart hits and live triumphs, one of rock music's most exciting new bands, Dirty Honey, is keeping the momentum going with the April 23rd release of their self-titled debut full-length. The Los Angeles quartet has also released the third single from Dirty Honey, a song called "Gypsy".
Dirty Honey - LaBelle, guitarist John Notto, bassist Justin Smolian, and drummer Corey Coverstone - planned to record their debut album with producer Nick DiDia (Rage Against The Machine, Pearl Jam), who had produced the band's 2019 EP; but the day before the band was due to fly to Australia to track the album, Los Angeles entered lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic and traveling was off the table. Still keen to work with DiDia, they came up with a Plan B: record the full-length at Henson Studios in Los Angeles studio with DiDia beamed into the proceedings via the magic of modern technology.
Having to switch gears delayed the start of recording slightly, although this extra time ended up being a boon. Dirty Honey rented a rehearsal space and demoed the album's songs in advance, meaning the tracks were in good shape when DiDia came onboard. "If we had gone when we were supposed to in March, we wouldn't have had as many songs," Smolian says. "We did a lot of rehearsing and got tighter as a band. Except for Marc's lyrics, everything was pretty much written by the time we got into the studio, there really wasn't a lot of, 'Let's try this, let's try that.' It was more about capturing takes."
Adds drummer Corey Coverstone: "Because of the pandemic, we had a lot more time to write and prepare, which was great. It meant that we were able to workshop the songs a lot more, and I think it really made a difference."
The Dirty Honey album does sound effortless and captures the lightning-in-a-bottle dynamics and energy of the band's live sound. The collection boasts airtight songwriting that plays up their strengths: sexy, bluesy, nasty rock 'n' roll. LaBelle reaffirms his status as one of contemporary rock's best vocalists on "The Wire," while the gospel-tinted "Another Last Time" is a midtempo, organ-fueled album-closer bursting with soul.
Although the pandemic has thrown some obstacles in the way, Dirty Honey knows that pushing through those tough times will only help them come out stronger on the other side. "When you finally come through on those moments, that's where the real magic comes in," Notto says. "What makes all of our songs fun to play and listen to is we don't allow ourselves to stop short of getting the best possible results out of each one of them."
In fact, if anything, all of the four band members are determined to better themselves going forward. "As a guitarist, I'm always inspired by the everlasting pursuit of the perfect riff," Notto adds. "I also wanted to extend the artistic statement that we've already made. We weren't looking to sound different, or prove our growth, necessarily. It was more about, 'Oh, you thought that was good? Hold my beer.'"

"Take My Hand"

MEGADETH Is 'In The Final Hours' Of Recording New AlbumMEGADETH bassist David Ellefson spoke to Thomas S. Orwat, Jr. of Rock Music Star about the progress of the recording sessions for the band's follow-up to 2016's "Dystopia" album. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "I was actually just down there [at the recording studio] last week. I went to Nashville to just put a couple of little, tiny finishing touches on some stuff. We're literally in the final hours of getting everything done. Obviously, COVID slowed things down. Kiko [Loureiro, guitar] lives over in Finland now, and there were some delays last year, just with travel and with everything shutting down. But me and Dirk [Verbeuren, drums] got down there pretty quickly — by May and June [of last year], we were in there cutting tracks. It's been good, though.
"One of the things, on the onset of it, Dave [Mustaine, MEGADETH guitarist/vocalist] had said to me, he goes, 'I really wanna just take the time to listen to this record,'" he continued. "We had been in this grind, this touring thing, where you make a record, you go right out on tour, you come off of an 18-month tour and you go right into the studio and make a record. And there's an energy about [that approach that] I like sometimes, and I think MEGADETH has made some great records when our backs are against the wall and there's a not a lot of time. I think with this one, especially following up 'Dystopia', off of such a big record like that, this is one where we have the luxury of time to sit back and we don't just have to hurry up [and finish it].
"In the early days of your career, every minute counts, so you're always working against the clock to jump on to bigger tours and these things," Ellefson added. "So, ironically, with COVID and everything that's happened, it's sort of slowed the whole pulse and the whole tempo of, obviously, the world, but certainly our industry — things have slowed down to a different pace. And so there's a lot more — maybe a bit more reflecting. Obviously, as we go forward, as things get scheduled from 2020 to 2021, now 2022, there's gonna be a lot of rescheduled things, there's gonna be new things, obviously, coming down, with new records and stuff. So it's [nice] to be able to be a bit reflective on this one and not just have to bang another record out."
This past February, Mustaine said during an episode of his Gimme Radio program "The Dave Mustaine Show" that he had just received "a really cool lyric" from Ellefson that he was planning to turn into a song. In addition, he revealed that the album will include an as-yet-undisclosed cover track.
In January, Ellefson told the "Rock 'N' Roll Icons With Bode James" podcast the previously announced working title for MEGADETH's upcoming album, "The Sick, The Dying And The Dead", will likely end up getting changed before the LP is released.
The early sessions for the album took place in 2019 with co-producer Chris Rakestraw, who previously worked on "Dystopia".
"Dystopia", whose title track was honored in the "Best Metal Performance" category at the 2017 Grammy Awards, marked Loureiro's recording debut with MEGADETH.
The 46-year-old Belgian-born-and-now-Los-Angeles-based Verbeuren had played with SOILWORK for more than a decade before joining MEGADETH.

DEATH POP RADIO Sign With Dark Star Records; First Track StreamingDeath Pop Radio has announced their self-titled debut album, released on May 7 via Dark Star Records. Preorders available here and a video for “Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em” is streaming below.
Death Pop Radio began their journey as a song, not a band. A fun collaboration that quickly blossomed into a full-blown hard-pop-grunge melting pot of backstories and musical experience.
"This album, for Death Pop Radio, was a perfect reflection of what happens when you take four guys with a wide range of tastes musically, mix in self-reflection, some humor, some horror, a pandemic, and heat it all up over a flame of desire to create something you were waiting for someone else to do." - Death Pop Radio.
"Death Pop Radio has the fire, the image, the sound and the songs that will destroy all in its path... the road ahead looks clear, once unleashed there will be no stopping this monster." - Jeffrey A. Swanson / President of Dark Star Records
Their debut single and video, “Ravens”, had thousands of views and hits within days. Death Pop Radio was born and came into the world with a natural buzz within the Chicago music scene.
The band started in late 2017 when guitarist Dee J Nelson ran into lead vocalist Eric Liljehorn at a King’s X show in Chicago. A few quick word; a potential collaboration and mutual love for all things musical blossomed. The two began working on a few of Dee J’s songs together and both could tell something right away was simply “clicking”. Shortly after the release of “Ravens”, it was clear a full band was in order. In need of a name, the band started out by temporarily using the title of its flagship song "Ravens" and while the temp name stuck longer than expected the guys eventually found the name that would fit them and their unique blend of rock and grunge - Death Pop Radio.

FLOTSAM AND JETSAM Releases Music Video For New Single 'Burn The Sky'Veteran Arizona thrashers FLOTSAM AND JETSAM have released a new song, "Burn The Sky". The track is taken from the band's forthcoming album, "Blood In The Water", which will arrive on June 4 via AFM Records.
Frontman Eric A.K. stated: "While we were in the process of selecting which songs we would use for the album's videos, 'Burn The Sky' was the only one that was on everyone's lists consistently. This track has some guitar work by Mike and Steve that are second to none."
Added guitarist Michael Gilbert: "We really had a hell of a time figuring out which songs actually include in this album, because we don’t feel we have any fillers."
When asked about why the band's sound has evolved over the last few albums to a much heavier output, Gilbert said: "I don’t want anyone feeling we are getting fucking old. As long as we continue doing this, we are gonna bring it. Our sound changed through the years influenced by many factors, but what you are listening to now is who we are and will continue to be."
Drummer Ken Mary stated: "The recording of this album was very much a natural process. We really worked together as a team to make sure that everything that needed to be on the record was indeed on it. I haven't listened to it for a while and I went back and listened recently, and it really gives the impression that we are really angry."
"Blood In The Water" was once again mixed and mastered by Jacob Hansen (U.D.O., VOLBEAT, AMARANTHE, POWERWOLF), who also worked on 2019's "The End Of Chaos".
The track listing for the effort is as follows:
01. Blood In The Water
02. Burn The Sky
03. Brace For Impact
04. A Place To Die
05. The Walls
06. Cry For The Dead
07. The Wicked Hour
08. Too Many Lives
09. Grey Dragon
10. Reaggression
11. Undone
12. Seven Seconds 'Til The End Of The World
This past January, Gilbert told The Metal Voice about the musical direction of the follow-up to "The End Of Chaos": "Well, this is the absolute perfect follow-up to 'Chaos'. We couldn't have planned it any better. We all basically put on our work boots, or whatever, and we started writing, and it ended up coming out… It's like 'The End Of Chaos' on steroids, basically. I think you guys are gonna love it, man."
Last November, FLOTSAM AND JETSAM announced Bill Bodily (CONTRARIAN, ex-INHUMATUS, ex-TOXIK) as the band's new bass player. Before joining FLOTSAM AND JETSAM on a permanent basis, Bodily filled in for former bassist Michael Spencer during many shows of the group's "Tour Of Chaos" in 2019. 1

JASON BECKER Hospitalized After Experiencing Persistent Shortness Of Breath And Rapid Heart RateLegendary guitarist and composer Jason Becker, who has been living with ALS for over 30 years, has been hospitalized after experiencing "shortness of breath and a rapid heart rate," according to his mother.
On Wednesday (April 7), Pat Becker tweeted: "Hey everyone, Jason is aware of, and overwhelmed by the outpouring of prayers and love coming his way. He was feeling better for a while, but the annoying shortness of breath and rapid heart rate kept coming and going. The doctor felt it was best to admit him to the hospital, which is what we are doing.
"Right now, [Jason's father] Gary and Serrana are on the way. I will spend the night with him tonight. On his way, he said, 'gonna get this fixed. I love you.' Eternal optimist and we are all taking his lead.
"We are all so grateful and will keep you posted when we can. Thank you with all our hearts."
Legendary guitarist and composer Jason Becker, who has been living with ALS for over 30 years, will soon go home after undergoing treatment for a bacterial infection at a hospital in Northern California.
Becker was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday (April 7) after experiencing "shortness of breath and a rapid heart rate," according to his mother.
Earlier today (Saturday, April 10), Jason's sister-in-law Amy issued the following update on his condition: "Just spoke with [Jason's mother] Pat.
"Jason's infection is beginning to clear up. He will need time to heal, but he should be going home tomorrow!
"Our family is so thankful for your thoughts and prayers."
Pat Becker first revealed that Jason had been experiencing shortness of breath and a rapid heart rate on Monday. At the time, she said that she and the rest of Jason's immediate family were "in constant contact with his doctors."
Throughout March and April, some of the world's greatest guitarists are coming together to raise money and celebrate Jason's music.
For more information on the virtual event, hosted in part by DRAGONFORCE guitarist Herman Li, visit Jasonbecker.com or twitch.tv/hermanli.
Becker's story is one of brilliance, talent, determination, adversity, and, ultimately, triumph. A child prodigy on guitar, Jason rose to prominence as a teenager when he was one half of the technical guitar duo CACOPHONY, with his great friend Marty Friedman. In 1989, at only 19 years old and after wowing audiences all over the world, the young virtuoso became the guitarist for David Lee Roth, following in the huge footsteps of Eddie Van Halen and Steve Vai. He wrote and recorded on Roth's third solo album, "A Little Ain't Enough", and was poised for superstardom when a nagging pain in his leg was diagnosed as Motor Neurone Disease (MND), also known as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), or Lou Gehrig's Disease, the same condition Stephen Hawking lived with for over five decades. It is a fatal condition with a life expectancy of maybe five years. Maybe.
That was more than 30 years ago. He lost the ability to play guitar, walk, talk, and breathe on his own. But never lost his will to live or his desire to create music. Communicating through a series of eye movements with a system developed by his father, Jason spells out words as well as musical notes and chords. He imparts his musical vision to his team who then can input the notes into a computer, edit the parts to his exacting standards, and then generate charts for session musicians. His inspiring music and life story have been the subject of countless news articles and magazine cover stories.
Becker's latest album, "Triumphant Hearts", was released in December 2018 via Music Theories Recordings/Mascot Label Group. The disc features guest appearances by a who's who of six-string gods, including Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Neal Schon, Steve Morse, Paul Gilbert and Joe Bonamassa.
We are all so grateful and will keep you posted when we can. Thank you with all our hearts."

KIRK HAMMETT's Signed Guitar From METALLICA's 'One' Video Sells For $112,500The guitar Kirk Hammett used in METALLICA's "One" music video has sold for $112,500.
The ESP 400 series instrument, which is said to be in "excellent" condition, was purchased by an anonymous buyer via Heritage Auctions.
The guitar comes with Hammett's signature in silver ink at the bottom of the natural solid body, with the guitar also coming with a signed certificate of authenticity and original hard case.
An official description reads: "Very clean and all-original ESP Strat-style guitar. Has a 1 & 11/16th width nut on a rosewood slab neck. Signed on the body in silver ink by Kirk Hammett and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, also signed by Kirk Hammett. 7.90 lbs. Original hard case included. Condition: Excellent."
Released in 1989, "One" was METALLICA's first-ever official music video. The song was featured on the group's fourth studio album, "…And Justice For All", which came out in 1988.
"Shot in black and white and splicing footage and audio from the 1971 film 'Johnny Got His Gun', the 'One' video was a staple on MTV," Heritage's listing continued. "But it wasn't just a 'Headbanger's Ball' staple — it was on MTV during the daytime in between videos from U2, Debbie Gibson and BON JOVI. It was an intense proclamation that showed METALLICA was going to be a band to reckon with in the mainstream in the years to come."
The ONE, the only, Kirk Hammett's "One" guitar!

LARS ULRICH Is 'The RINGO STARR Of Heavy Metal,' Says CHRIS JERICHOFOZZY's Chris Jericho has defended Lars Ulrich, saying the METALLICA co-founder is a "great" drummer because "he plays what's right for the tune."
Despite the fact that it's become fashionable to dump on the METALLICA drummer's skills, Jericho says that he has always had a tremendous amount of respect for Ulrich.
"People bag on Lars — it's a funny thing to do — just the same way that people bag on Ringo [Starr, THE BEATLES drummer]; it's funny to bag on Ringo," Chris said during an appearance on the METALLICA-centric podcast "...And Podcast For All!" (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).
"Lars is now the Ringo of heavy metal. And what I mean by that is that Ringo plays what's best for the song — not what the most flashy part is, not what is gonna get him on the cover of Modern Drummer [magazine]. He plays what's right for the tune. And that's why Lars is great."
Jericho continued: "Lars was very influential back in [the early] days [of METALLICA]. But then, after '…And Justice For All', [he said], 'What am I gonna do? I'm not Charlie Benante [ANTHRAX]. I'm not Dave Lombardo [SLAYER].' These are the guys that [he was] kind of in a competition with. 'I've gotta go the other way and do the Phil Rudd [AC/DC]…' And he also loves Clive Burr of IRON MAIDEN, which is why most of his fills are just on the snare. I said, 'Why do you do that?' He said, 'Clive Burr.' And I'm, like, 'Ahhh.' Clive Burr rarely uses toms too.
"I'm a big fan of Lars's playing. Listen, is he always completely in time? Does he speed up and slow down live? Well, he does, but guess what? That's fucking live rock and roll, man. And a lot of people hate it, and I get it.
"Listen, if you're going to [see] METALLICA and you're worried because the tempo increases or decreases sometimes, you're probably not there for the same reason that I am," Chris concluded.
Last year, Ulrich said that he was no longer bothered by people's criticism of his drumming abilities, telling METALLICA's So What! fan-club magazine: "I'm so over — I'm literally immune to it. We just did a bunch of interviews, and sometimes, if I am being interviewed by a journalist who is also a fan, they'll say, 'When people say Lars Ulrich is a shitty drummer, I defend you.' Which is cool, but I've got to tell you, 20 years later, 30 years later, it just doesn't register anymore. I am so comfortable with who I am, I'm so comfortable with who METALLICA is, I'm so comfortable with our place in all of it. I've got an incredible wife, three great kids, my dad and [his partner] Molly, incredible friends, and lots of cool acquaintances. It's all good. I've got nothing left to prove, so it just doesn't register anymore."
Back in 2016, Ulrich, who has gotten a lot of flak over the years from people who accused him of being a poor drummer, told the "Talk Is Jericho" podcast that he went through a period in the mid-1980s "that probably culminated in the 'Justice' album where I felt sort of compelled to try to show ability." According to Lars, part of the reason for him feeling insecure about his abilities was the increased competition from some of his peers.
"Listen, when you've got Dave Lombardo and Charlie Benante breathing down your back, it was, like, 'Okay, I've gotta…' I tried to step it up a little bit and tried to do my own thing and do all this crazy shit," he said. "I was trying really hard to push the drums kind of into the foreground. And then, after like a year or two of that, I was, like, 'Okay. Seriously? Just do your thing. Chill out. Support the riffs. Do what's best for the song.' So since around I guess the late '80s — so I guess it's been, like, 25 years now — the only thing that's really interested me is just doing the best thing for the song."
Asked in a 2008 interview with U.K.'s Rhythm magazine if he was troubled by the fact that he's gotten a lot of flak over the years from people who accused him of being a poor drummer, Lars said: "It used to, back in the day — and I spent a lot of time overcompensating for that on the early records. But then you wake up one day and you're like, whatever. It hasn't bothered me for [many] years. I'm no Joey Jordison, I'm no Mike Portnoy, and I have nothing but love and respect and admiration for all those guys. When I hear some of the young dudes, they blow my mind with what they can do with their feet and stuff — but it's not something that makes me go, 'I need to feel better about myself so I'm gonna learn how to do what they do with my feet.' I'm not a particularly accomplished drummer but I am very, very, very good at understanding the role of the drums next to James Hetfield's rhythm guitar. I guarantee you I'm the best guy in the world for that, and that's enough for me!"
Ulrich stated about his playing ability in a 2012 interview with DRUM! magazine: "I usually feel like I've regressed. [Laughs] I'm like, 'Why can't I do that anymore?'" He continued: "I can't say that I necessarily sit down to practice, like, 'I'm going to play and practice so I can get better.' What happens is that I just sit down and kind of play to just more stay in shape."
Ulrich added: "You know, METALLICA was up to two or three months off [in 2011], and I would sit down, I have an iPod next to my drums so I can play along to all kind of crazy stuff, and try to see if I can land in the same zip code of some of that stuff occasionally. But I can't say that I sit down to necessarily practice to sort of get better. For most of my stuff, it's about listening and about interpreting stuff that I'm listening to. So all the kind of sitting down and, you know, 'Now I'm going to do thirty-second-note paradiddles standing on my head — you know what I mean? I don't do that kind of stuff so much. For me it's more about the regimen of staying in shape, running every day, eating healthy, you know, being on top of that side of it." 14

ROSS THE BOSS: 'If People Are Not Paying For Music, The Artists Are Just Gonna Give Up'Former MANOWAR guitarist Ross "The Boss" Friedman has urged music fans to support their favorite bands by purchasing their product.
Friedman, a founding member of MANOWAR and THE DICTATORS whose influence in heavy metal and punk is noticeable to this day, addressed musicians' struggle to survive in a new interview with Rocking With Jam Man.
He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "If people continually are not paying for music, the artists are just gonna give up and not make any more music, 'cause we have to make livelihoods, we have to pay our bills, we have to be able to tour, we have to be able to go around. So if you continue to steal, we're not gonna make music anymore; it's just not gonna be worth it. I know a lot of people feel that way. So, buy the bands' stuff. I'm telling you — otherwise you're gonna wake up one day and there's not gonna be any music… It's not that much money — so if it's 20 dollars for a CD, or something like that, or a T-shirt, it helps. Every bit helps."
Speaking specifically about the additional hardship the pandemic has caused musicians around the world, Ross said: "Fans, folks, we love you. We wanna tell you, we wanna be there for you and play for you, but the way to help us is by buying our stuff. That's the only way to do [it]. And then, of course, when we start playing again, buying tickets. And then we'll see you. And then you'll see our happy faces again."
Ross was one of the pioneers of both punk rock and heavy metal. First crashing on the scene with THE DICTATORS and with such classic albums as 1975's "Go Girl Crazy!", 1977's "Manifest Destiny" and 1978's "Bloodbrothers", Ross helped trailblaze punk rock (just to put it all in perspective, "Go Girl Crazy!" arrived a full year before the RAMONES' debut, and two years before THE CLASH's and SEX PISTOLS' debuts). After exiting the band, Ross then co-formed one of heavy metal's all-time great bands, MANOWAR, which showcased exceptional six-string work on such classic albums as 1982's "Battle Hymns", 1983's "Into Glory Ride" and 1984's "Hail To England", among countless other titles.
By the end of the '80s, Ross had reconnected with his DICTATORS bandmates in MANITOBA'S WILD KINGDOM, which served as a bridge between his love of punk and metal, as heard on the group's popular 1990 debut, "…And You?" Throughout the remainder of the decade, Ross also played with such groups as THE HELLACOPTERS and THE SPINATRAS, before THE DICTATORS reunited, which resulted in several new releases starting from the late '90s all the way through the early 21st century. Also around this time, Ross joined forces with former of BLUE ÖYSTER CULT drummer Albert Bouchard in the band BRAIN SURGEONS.
With Ross's main focus turning to metal music at this time, two additional projects were launched — DEATH DEALER and his solo outfit, ROSS THE BOSS. 53

GRAVE DIGGER, ORDEN OGAN Members Debut Self-Titled SingleGerman heavy metal supergroup Hellryder have announced the release of their full-length album The Devil Is A Gambler, out on May 28, 2021 via ROAR! Rock Of Angels Records. Preorder here. The ryders have premiered their debut, self-titled single, watch the video below.
Since 2017, Chris Boltendahl and Axel Ritt have been thinking about bringing a project to life which deals with the origin of metal. This unexpected time window of opportunities opened up and was finally used from Boltendahl and Ritt.
The first songs were recorded in September 2020 and Hellryder took shape; an idea led into a project and in November 2020 to a real band. With drummer Timmi Breideband (Gregorian, ex-Bonfire, ex-Freedom Call) and bass player Steven Wussow (Orden Ogan, ex-Domain, ex-Xandria), two absolute thoroughbred musicians could be won and complete the line-up into a real German metal supergroup. Hellryder stand for straightforward, metallically hard, diabolical and uncompromising traditional heavy metal.

APRIL WINE Legend MYLES GOODWYN Streaming New Song "Will The Last Voice I Hear Be An Angel?"; Long Pants Album Due This SummerAward-winning Hall of Famer and multi-Platinum selling producer, songwriter, and April Wine leader, Myles Goodwyn, asks a tall and transcendental question as he releases this, his first-ever spiritual song, “Will the Last Voice I Hear Be an Angel?”, available now for streaming on Spotify, and below.
Beyond a legendary mainstay of the Canadian music landscape in his own right, Goodwyn is joined on the track with Bruce Dixon (Oakley Band, Rita MacNeil, Roch Voisine) and Jim Henman - the latter with whom he started the iconic rock band, April Wine, alongside David Henman and Ritchie Henman in 1969.
The stunning song arrives ahead of Goodwyn’s forthcoming recording project, Long Pants, set for release this summer 2021. A collection of his most personal songs to date, the new full-length dives deep into the masterful musician’s extensive and previously unreleased archives, with one song’s origins even dating back 40 years.
“The ‘oldest’ new song on the album, ‘Forever Amber,’ was written four decades ago,” Goodwyn shares. “I wrote it for my daughter, Amber, on the very night she was born.
“The recording will feature a song I’ve written for each of my three children,” he reveals. “‘Talk to Me’ was written for my son, Aaron, and is about love, and the importance of communication between a child and their parents. And ‘Over the Moon’ was written when I learned my younger boy, Cary, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. It’s a serious and chronic disease, and the song is one of love, understanding, optimism — which is an important message of hope and love to all children and parents dealing with diabetes.”
It’s a robust release traversing Goodwyn’s interests, introspect, and outward observations; there’s a fun song about kittens, plus a rollicking drinking song, to boot. There’s a touching love song, “Princess Rain,” with his lifetime partner, Kim, as its muse, and “Right Myself,” co-written with multi-award winning singer/songwriter, and distinguished member of The Order of Canada, Lennie Gallant.
Also among the 12 tracks are “I Leave Today,” a stirring song about euthanasia, inspired by Dan Hill’s mom choosing the option at the age of 90, and “Darling Where Are You,” a deeply poignant penning expressing concern and compassion for missing Indigenous women.
“This song - ‘Will The Last Voice I Hear Be An Angel?’ - is the release’s ‘youngest’ new song; I wrote it this spring,” he adds. “It’s a tune about life, and reflection, and contemplating one’s mortality.”
Teeming with Goodwyn’s inimitable vocals and distinct, immediately recognizable musicianship, Long Pants lands as yet another top-shelf addition to his extensive discography and career.
The recipient of the prestigious Helen Creighton Lifetime Achievement Award, multi-award winning Myles Goodwyn also recently took both the 2019 and 2020 ECMA Blues Recording of the Year Awards for his solo albums, Myles Goodwyn and Friends of the Blues, and Myles Goodwyn and Friends of the Blues 2.
Upon publishing, his self-penned memoir, Just Between You And Me, hit the 2018 Globe and Mail bestseller list. Detailing the deeply personal tale of his upbringing - from at home in rural Nova Scotia, to the later years as the lead singer of one of Canada’s most popular bands of all time, Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductees April Wine - the book’s special and accompanying Live performance featured the likes of “Fast Train,” “You Won’t Dance With Me,” its title track, “Just Between You And Me,” and more.
“Will the Last Voice I Hear Be an Angel?” is available now.

SWEET OBLIVION Feat. GEOFF TATE Streaming New Song "Remember Me"; Relentless Album Out NowSweet Oblivion, the musical project centred around revered vocalist Geoff Tate, have released the new album, Relentless, via Frontiers Music Srl. Order/save Relentless on CD, Limited Edition Green Vinyl, and/or Digital formats here, and listen to the song "Remember Me" below.
Relentless is the sophomore album from Sweet Oblivion, which showcases former Queensrÿche vocalist Geoff Tate. Conceived, overseen, and A&R'ed by Serafino Perugino, President and A&R director of Frontiers Records, the project sees Tate returning to a musical style he is revered for. The self-titled debut album caused quite a stir in the international hard rock and metal scene since it brought Tate back to a musical landscape akin to the sound of the stone cold classic metal albums he released with Queensrÿche during the ‘80s. But what made the album work so well was that instead of being a simple throwback, other different musical influences were thrown into the mix, allowing fans to hear Tate in a simultaneously familiar and new musical setting.
While the production and main songwriting on the previous record were handled by Simone Mularoni of DGM, this time the production was instead handled by his fellow Italian metal maestro Aldo Lonobile (Secret Sphere, Timo Tolkki's Avalon, Archon Angel).
Not only does Aldo have producution and songwriting credits on the album, he also features on guitar. Other musicians appearing on the album include Michele Sanna on drums, Luigi Andreone on bass, and Antonio Agate on keyboards.
This time around, Tate is more involved in the songwriting and asked Aldo to draft a very special song for him, which he would ultimately sing in Italian. The song, 'Aria', also features guitars from Walter Cianciusi and Dario Parente, who are now in the Operation: Mindcrime live band with Tate.
"I have been spending more and more time in Italy over the last few years and the people and culture have captured my heart. I truly enjoyed working with my Italian counterparts to create this classic metal album," says Tate.
Musically, this album showcases the great songwriting and performing talents of Tate, Lonobile and his cast of musicians and also marks a very welcomed return for Tate to a style that he made famous along with his former band.
Fans of Tate’s work in Queensryche’s early days and of the previous Sweet Oblivion record will not want to miss this.
