BOURBON HOUSE Stream New Song "Dead In The Water"

BOURBON HOUSE Stream New Song "Dead In The Water"

Riff-driven, blues-infused groove rockers Bourbon House have issued a brand new song, "Dead In The Water".

According to guitarist Jason Clark, "Like a lot of our songs, 'Dead In The Water' began with a title and quickly took on its own message, evolving into a song about perseverance. 2021 will see the release of an official music video for 'Dead In The Water' by the end of May, and a full album release in July."

"Dead In The Water" is the latest single from the forthcoming full-length album by Bourbon House, due for release this summer. It's slated to include "Devil On My Heels", "Too High To Care", and "6000 Miles", along with six other unreleased tracks.

Bourbon House will be back in the studio with Eric LaBrosse at Cherry Pit Studios to begin recording their next album in September. A tour is also being planned for the fall/winter months of 2021, but dates and routing are not yet confirmed.

AVANTASIA To Release New Single In Autumn 2021

AVANTASIA To Release New Single In Autumn 2021

Avantasia mastermind Tobias Sammet, who has been working on a new album, checked in over the weekend with a brief update:

"Studio work! New Avantasia taking shape, slowly... but surely!!! Expect first single in autumn. Great stuff, heavy and epic."

Sammet recently posted a tribute to legendary composer, lyricist and record producer Jim Steinman, who worked with artists like Meat Loaf, Celine Dion, Bonnie Tyler and more. He passed away at the age of 73 on Monday, April 19th.

Sammet: "Just heard the tragic news. Rest in Peace and safe travels, Jim Steinman.

Another part of my youth died. Another part of my musical DNA. I adored him as a song writer, I never got to meet him. The closest I got was when I was asked to sing in his musical, which I couldn't do, because, well, time and then those big shoes of Meat, no, thank you. There are other ways to make a fool out of myself.

Jim Steinman would have been one of the few people that a stubborn like me would have loved to write a song with. I stole from his oevre, all the time. I will always pay tribute to his writing.

Another painful reminder to seize the day and follow our hearts, because our days on this planet are limited.

Jim Steinman, your music is going to live forever, it will surpass the shit music industry of today by millions of years. 'Ghost In The Moon' was a tribute to your writing skills, and I failed to come even close.

I'll blast Bat Out Of Hell now, in your honour, genius!

Safe travels! RIP Jim Steinman"

Steinman’s work appeared in a multitude of genres, such as adult contemporary, rock, dance and pop, in addition to musical theater and film scores.

He composed rock singer Meat Loaf’s debut album, Bat Out Of Hell, in 1977, which is one of the best-selling albums of all time with more than 50 million copies sold around the world. Steinman collaborated with Meat Loaf on the singer’s 1981 album Dead Ringer, served as composer/producer on his 1993 album Bat Out Of Hell II: Back Into Hell, and composed his 2016 Braver Than We Are album.

A message posted at the "Jim Steinman Rockman Philharmonic" Facebook page states: "It's with a heavy heart that I can confirm Jim's passing. There will be much more to say in the coming hours and days as we prepare to honor this giant of a human being and his glorious legacy. For now, do something that makes you feel young, happy and free. He'd want that for you!"

CAPRA Launches New Video For "Medusa"

CAPRA Launches New Video For "Medusa"

Capra released their debut full-length, In Transmission, via Blacklight Media / Metal Blade Records on April 23rd. For a preview of the album, a new video for the track "Medusa" (produced by Matt Valentin, Tom Rosario, and Chase Guidroz) can be seen below.

Formed in 2016 by guitarist Tyler Harper and drummer Jeremy Randazzo, who had previously worked together in multiple projects, Harper had just come out of a 90-day stint in rehab and was looking to focus on something new. The initial idea was to create something that would be fresh while still giving listeners a sense of nostalgia for the sounds of the late 90's and early 2000's hardcore and punk scenes. After going through a few line-up changes, they ultimately added bassist Ben Paramore and vocalist Crow Lotus, and everything came together. "This band symbolizes that hard work, determination, passion, and drive can lead to success. We're all very outspoken on our past struggles and intend to help others that feel like they're in a hole so deep that they can't climb out of it," Harper asserts. In Transmission is literally the culmination of years of hard work, reflecting everything they have been writing and pouring into the band since solidifying the lineup. "We wanted it to be the heaviest and most complete record we could possibly lay down, composed of only the best songs we've written over years of playing together. It's the best set of songs we've ever had, and we're all extremely proud of them, and each other, so we hope it sounds like a total passion project - because it is," says Paramore.

Predominantly tracked in December 2019, In Transmission was recorded with Jai Benoit (Golgothan, Father Rust), then mixed by Taylor Young (Nails, Twitching Tongues) and mastered by Brad Boatwright (Pig Destroyer, Integrity, Torche, Idle Hands). The only exceptions were "Mutt," "Transfiguration," and "Deadbeat Assailant," which were recorded during the pandemic lockdown, and required the members to go into the studio individually to lay down their parts rather than all going in together. The hardest aspect of making the record turned out to be naming it. "We went through a plethora of titles trying to find what we felt was the perfect name," Paramore says. "We've been sitting on the majority of this record since the end of 2019 and had originally hoped to send it out to the masses mid-summer, but thanks to the pandemic, all of that obviously got pushed back. In a lot of ways, this is a message we've been trying to send out that has essentially been stuck or lost in transmission for a year now, and we're all ready for that message to finally be received."

CJSS Featuring DAVID CHASTAIN - '80s Archive Footage Of First Show Streaming

Leviathan Records, owned and run by guitarist David Chastain, has posted more archive footage of Chastain's band CJSS in action. Check it out below.

"CJSS formed in late 1984 and played their first concert soon thereafter. Formed from the two biggest local bands, Spike and Prizoner. David T Chastain (guitar), Mike Skimmerhorn (bass, vocals) and Les Sharp (drums) came from Spike. Vocalist/guitarist Russell Jinkens came from Prizoner. While we are not 100% sure this is the first concert we have judged it is or one of the first from the lack of Marshall cabinets on stage and the songlist, which features numerous songs from Spike and pre-Chastain songs. In reality there are only two songs in this concert that made it to the first CJSS album, World Gone Mad. This was a fan video or a friend of the band's video shot on Beta. Audio gets a little better as the video goes on. Obviously the quality is not up today's standards but it is a classic moment in metal."

Setlist:

NAHAYA Feat. OCEANS OF SLUMBER, VESPERIAN SORROW Members Issue “Incubator” Video

NAHAYA Feat. OCEANS OF SLUMBER, VESPERIAN SORROW Members Issue “Incubator” Video

Nahaya (ft. members of Oceans of Slumber, Vesperian Sorrow, ex-Kingdom Collapse, Painting The Massacre, Cerebral Desecration) will be unleashing their new album, entitled Vital Alchemy via Rockshots Records on May 21, 2021.

Today, the band shares their new music video for their second single "Incubator", which is their most unique song on the album and to the band entirely. Taking a more experimental approach to their sound, Nahaya begins the song with a country slide, actually using a Lonestar beer bottle to capture the sound in studio to give it that immediate Texan vibe. They progressively build the track into sombre melodic vocals to quickly kick into a furious thrash / melo-death frenzy to come back around full circle.

The band adds:

"We think a song like this will be the inspiration for us to experiment more with our sound in the future. Lyrically, Incubator is inspired by the book In the Dark Places of History by Peter Kingsley. The book speaks about a form communion with Gods and Goddess while in meditative trance/deep sleep, sometimes under the guidance of oracles and spiritual individuals of the time."

The Texan band is an amalgamation of American melodic groove thrash, Gothenburg sounds, and Middle Eastern influences. The band was founded in 2013 by Ryan Peters with Semir Ozerkan, who immigrated to the US from Istanbul, Turkey to pursue career opportunities in metal, one being with Oceans Of Slumber.

Vital Alchemy follows the band's well-received EPs Transcendence Pt. II (2020) and Transcendence (2018). Since the band's conception, they have been working hard to make a name for themselves independently, performing over 50 shows year-round in Texas and neighboring states including Austin's SXSW festival and becoming national finalists for the 2019 Wacken Metal Battle USA competition.

Mastered by Jamie King (Between The Buried And Me, Scale The Summit), Vital Alchemy is seven tracks that will take fans through a wide range of emotions. There is something on this record for every kind of music lover. From the melody to the groove to the speed and unlike its predecessors that were focused on themes of science fiction, this new record takes on more personal interest, spirituality, and metaphysics along with it being more musically dynamic and experimental, incorporating progressive, acoustic, melancholic sounds with thrashing elements.

Tracklisting:

“Madness Of Maenads”
“Deific Mask”
“Vital Alchemy”
“Incubator”
“Kali Yuga”
“Midnight Fidelio”
“Aghori Fires”

NIGHT CROWNED Feat. Current / Former Members Of DARK FUNERAL, NIGHTRAGE And CIPHER SYSTEM To Release Hädanfärd In July

NIGHT CROWNED Feat. Current / Former Members Of DARK FUNERAL, NIGHTRAGE And CIPHER SYSTEM To Release Hädanfärd In July

Blackened death metal force Night Crowned have announced the release of their highly anticipated sophomore studio album. Hädanfärd will be coming out on digipak CD, vinyl, digital and in limited vinyl / CD merch bundles on July 9 via Noble Demon.

Night Crowned took the heavy scene by storm with their debut studio album, Impius Viam (2020, Noble Demon). Consisting of former and current members of legendary acts such as Dark Funeral, Nightrage and Cipher System and with a musical vision as clear as it is haunting and disturbing, the band created with their latest album an imposing work full of rage, melancholy and pure destruction, offering a true reawakening of the sounds dormant from the most influential acts and masterpieces of the Scandinavian ‘90s.

Without showing any signs of slowing down, and even while the current release was being carried across the globe, the band started working on their highly anticipated follow-up record, titled Hädanfärd, set for release on July 9th 2021, via German label Noble Demon. Thematically inspired by a story by singer K. Romlin, which deals with encounters with death, a far-reaching concept for the soon-to-be-released record was developed during the band's intense demo process. Carried with depth through 9 atmospheric tracks and supported in a vivid way by individual, written down interpretations and explanations of K. Romlin, Hädanfärd is an infernal, bleak monolith of an album, one that will most likely see Night Crowned step out as one of Sweden's best kept blackened death metal secrets.

"What we made is not just an album, it is a story. A story that has no beginning, nor end. A story that is as old as time itself. This is a story about life given & life taken, this is the tale when I meet death" Vocalist K. Romlin states.

In support of the upcoming album, Night Crowned has unleashed a brand new and haunting video clip for the track "Nattkrönt".

"Have you ever sat completely still in a forest at night and listened to all the sounds or just the eerie silence? This is our celebration our dedication to the night itself. A Melodic, fast, heavy, catchy and aggressive black/death metal song." the band comments.

Initially planned as a double album (in English, as well as in Swedish), Hädanfärd will be coming out in Swedish language only, in order to release the band's most authentic, as well as honest, work to date.

Tracklisting:

“Nattkrönt”
“Rex Tenebrae”
“Fjättrad”
“Ett Gravfäst Öde”
“Hädanfärd”
“Gudars Skymning”
“Människans Förfall”

ALCATRAZZ Guitarist JOE STUMP Streaming GARY MOORE Tribute Single “Forever Moore”

ALCATRAZZ Guitarist JOE STUMP Streaming GARY MOORE Tribute Single “Forever Moore”

"Forever Moore" is the new single from Alcatrazz guitarist/American shred guitar legend Joe Stump. "Forever Moore" is a gut wrenching, emotionally charged instrumental guitar ballad fueled by the influence of Irish guitar giant the late great legendary Gary Moore.

The track will also be featured on Joe’s upcoming instrumental record entitled Diabolical Ferocity which is slated for release this year in late August/early September.

Joe Stump says:

“While it’s extremely well documented who my favorite guitarists and main influences are and of course the new record is filled with everything you’d expect from one of my releases; ridiculously technical playing, neo-classical shredding, killer riff action and strong melodies.  For me Gary Moore is still the one guitarist that really reaches me on an emotional level like no one else. I frequently listen to all eras of Gary’s work to this day and I often say to myself why the fuck aren’t I listening to him even more. Every time without fail it’s an inspirational learning experience.

“On this tune I tried my best to keep it honest, channel his great impact on me and play from my heart. I sincerely hope you enjoy it as it’s meant with nothing but the utmost admiration and respect for someone that left us way too soon.”

ALLUVIAL Release Music Video For New Single "40 Stories"

ALLUVIAL Release Music Video For New Single "40 Stories"

Progressive, technical death metal collective, Alluvial, will release their sophomore album, Sarcoma, on May 28 via Nuclear Blast. Today, they've unveiled the latest track, "40 Stories", from the record. Watch the video below.

Guitarist Wes Hauch comments on the single: "I’m really all chips in for every song on Sarcoma, but '40 Stories' is one that we’re especially proud of. It was originally going to be an instrumental. The lyrics are loosely based on a suicide story, and it’s one of a handful of songs on the record where I sing. I think we are always going to have a strong footing in the sound that’s been established with 'Ulysses' and 'Thy Underling,' but '40 Stories' kinda poured out of us."

What began as an instrumental collaboration has grown into a full-frontal aural assault with a lineup consisting of vocalist Kevin Muller (ex-Suffocation, The Merciless Concept), guitarist Wes Hauch (ex-The Faceless, Black Crown Initiate), bassist Tim Walker (Entheos) and drummer Matt Paulazzo (Aegaeon). On their follow up to 2017's The Deep Longing For Annihilation, Alluvial plunge into a whirlwind of neck-snapping polyrhythmic riffs, a barrage of double bass and a dynamic avalanche of screams.

Alluvial's second full-length album, Sarcoma, examines people's connection with pain and the hardships that bind us.

“Sarcoma is a type of cancer that grows from connective tissue in the body,” says Wes Hauch. “At the end of working on everything, Kevin [Muller] pinpointed that each song on the record was about the different perils that happen at the hand of one man to another. These perils live in our connections to one another, so 'Sarcoma' became an apt title.”

As Hauch began writing the record, he took notice of Muller due to his time in Suffocation. After hearing his vocals on a demo, everything simply clicked, and Kevin joined the band. Fast brothers, it fulfilled a long-term goal. “The Deep Longing for Annihilation was supposed to have vocals, but I couldn’t find the right guy,” he adds. “Some people possess a rare inability to doubt themselves. Kevin can marry that into performances. The day I heard his vocals over the Sarcoma demos was a special one. We’ve become brothers.”

After writing and producing demos at home, Alluvial cut guitars, bass, and vocals with engineer John Douglass (Mr. Bungle, Amon Amarth) in Atlanta.

FROST* Premier Animated "Day And Age" Music Video

FROST* Premier Animated "Day And Age" Music Video

Frost* are set to release Day And Age, their first new studio album in five years, on May 14. The band’s fourth record features Jem Godfrey once again joined by John Mitchell and Nathan King, as well as three guest drummers: Kaz Rodriguez (Chaka Khan, Josh Groban), Darby Todd (The Darkness, Martin Barre), and Pat Mastelotto (King Crimson, Mister Mister). The album also features actor Jason Isaacs.

Today, the band launches an animated clip for an edit of the album’s title track, "Day And Age".

Jem Godfrey comments: “'Day And Age' is about how we have become a planet full of transmitters. Everyone has the power to convey their thoughts far and wide. However nobody is listening because they’re too busy transmitting.”

Day And Age was recorded over the course of 2019 and 2020, featuring eight tracks and striking cover artwork by Carl Glover of Aleph Studios (Steven Wilson, Marillion, Steve Jansen).

The album will be released on Limited 2CD (including a bonus disc of instrumentals), Gatefold 180g 2LP + CD (with etching on Side D), and as Digital Album. Pre-order here.

Tracklisting:

"Day And Age"
"Terrestrial"
"Waiting For The Lie"
"The Boy Who Stood Still"
"Island Life"
"Skywards"
"Kill The Orchestra"
"Repeat To Fade"

"Terrestrial" video:

In September 2019, Godfrey and Mitchell rented a cottage for a week in Helford, Cornwall and set about converting it into a recording studio. Day one saw them write and record “Skywards”, “Island Life” was written on day two. On day three, the duo wrote what was to become the title and defining track of the new album, “Day And Age”.

The following January, the band setup a new temporary studio for a further week in a converted coastguard tower at Dungeness in East Sussex. “We were 30 feet by the sea, next to a nuclear power station and a lighthouse, in midwinter. So there was hardly any daylight and the weather was dreadful”, laughs bassist Nathan King, “We wrote 'Terrestrial' and 'Repeat To Fade' there and you can definitely hear the bleak isolated oppression having an effect on us. The songs we wrote were far darker – the wind howling round the building at night, the power station generating crackles on the audio, a huge lighthouse next door sweeping light into the fog every 30 seconds and John screaming “ENJOY YOURSELVES YOU SCUM” into a microphone. It was absolutely brilliant!”.

In November 2020, Frost* released the career-retrospective collection ‘3 Winters, which featured all their studio albums to date, plus live material, b-sides & last years Others EP, all packaged in a beautiful artbook.

Frost* was formed in 2004 by keyboard player and singer Jem Godfrey, Released in 2006 the band’s debut album Milliontown was an instant success and is regarded by many as a classic in the modern prog rock genre featuring John Mitchell on guitar, John Jowitt on bass and Andy Edwards on drums. The band quickly followed it up with Experiments In Mass Appeal in 2008, in many ways the antithesis of Milliontown featuring a much more stripped back sound, more concise songs and a new band member and singer in the form of Dec Burke.

The live album The Philadelphia Experiment followed in 2009 and the a long gap followed before third album Falling Satellites was released in 2016 with a new lineup of Nathan King on bass and Craig Blundell on drums, plus returning guitarist and singer John Mitchell on guitar who also co-wrote much of the album with Jem Godfrey.

FUZZRD Release Music Video For "Viral Connection" Feat. MARK SLAUGHTER

FUZZRD Release Music Video For "Viral Connection" Feat. MARK SLAUGHTER

FuZZrd has released a second composition from the band’s debut studio album. The track, “Viral Connection”, features a special guest appearance by Mark Slaughter on the recording and in the music video, which can be screened below.

Prior, the band presented “Monster Carnival”, setting a tone of what’s to come for the band. That music video can also be viewed below.

Guitarist Brett Petrusek shares, “Working with Mark on 'Viral Connection' was a total blast. He has such an iconic vocal sound. It's both angelic and gritty at the same time. It's uplifting yet heavy, which is kinda what FuZZrd is all about: darkness and light, and the haunted place in between. When we first began collaborating on the track, we immediately started geeking out on all thing’s guitar. I was super stoked to have his world class voice supporting the track, but his guitar overdubs, and wicked outro-solo were a welcome unscripted bonus that took things over the top. He's a sick player. He has an exceptional ear for melodies. And, he's such a great dude. We had a ton of fun!” Drummer Scott Savage offers, “This was one of the songs that really got things rolling in a unique direction for the band. The dark and heavy intro guitar riff sets the tone for the pounding groove. It was one of the first songs we recorded as a band. As soon as we heard the playback, we all knew we were onto something special.” Guitarist Eric Vobejda states, “Thunder and lightning bottom end, a monster of a down beat of drums, and evil genius lyrics topped off with a healthy dose of Mark Slaughter. This song is a hidden gem. If you are a guitar fan, this song is for you and you'll love the loud, heavy Gibson guitar sounds. Mark's guitar and vocal contributions helped us make this song sound like a demonic Led Zeppelin deep cut that's ready for battle. 'Viral Connection' is our art." Last but certainly not least, bassist Rob Berg adds, "I appreciate how the song's arrangement differs from other FuZZrd tracks. Lots of layers with interesting musical twists and turns. I love the production. It's moody and totally pounding.”

Mark Slaughter shares, “I think the band is great, and it was a lot of fun working with them. They have a classic rock sensibility with a modern edge. It’s lean and it’s honest. They’re not chasing somebody else’s sound. They’re comfortable being right where they are. That’s where the best music comes from. It’s got to be in you. It’s got to reflect who you truly are.” Slaughter admits that “Viral Connection” provided an opportunity to stretch his wings artistically, and he enjoyed the challenge. He continues, “It’s hard and heavy, with these super heavy lyrics. It’s not what I normally would do, but I respect what Brett does and who he is. So, I just tried to support that. When he asked me ‘what would you do?’ initially I heard the countermelody on top of the main guitar riff, and then I accented the vocal melody with guitar on the choruses. I did what the melody was asking for, and I think it came out really nicely.”

The song “Viral Connection” was produced, engineered and mixed by Jeremy Taperro. Todd Fitzgerald served as the assistant engineer. It was recorded at Winterland Studios in New Hope, MN and at Noise Below in Bloomington, MN where it was also mixed. Mastered by Greg Reierson at Rare Form Mastering in Minneapolis, MN. The music video was produced and directed by Matt Grosso, and edited by Juan David Villa for St. Paul, MN based Cloverleaf Audio-Visual. Footage of Mark Slaughter was captured by Perry Bean in Nashville, TN.

Leave it to FuZZrd to find the bright side of Armageddon. The Minneapolis band has a knack for documenting searing personal experiences, strapping them to turbo-charged guitar riffs, and creating kick-ass rock ‘n’ roll in the process. The result? Tales of obsession, devotion, and redemption – all sung from the crater of a live volcano. And there’s room for some humor too. Asked about the band name (pronounced “FUZZ-erd”), lead vocalist/guitarist Brett Petrusek laughs and turns evasive: “It has six letters, just like the six knobs on an old Marshall amp. It’s actually kinda goofy, but we all need some goofy right now.” Bassist Berg sums it up a bit differently sharing, “You get these catchy, sing-a-long choruses, but the lyrics are pretty stark and disturbing,” he laughs. “If Black Sabbath and Motörhead took Bon Jovi and Def Leppard, rolled them into a joint and smoked it today, you’d be in a cloud of FuZZrd.".

FuZZrd’s evolution is a straightforward tale. Petrusek and Berg had played together for years in the well-regarded Minneapolis hard rock outfit Downtread, recording three albums and playing a bunch of high profile shows throughout the Midwest. Looking to explore a more organic, stripped-down sound they connected with kindred spirits Vobejda (co-founder of the Twin Cities band Via) and Savage (from Minneapolis stalwarts Crashmatic) in late 2019.

The chemistry was instantaneous, starting with the interaction of the two guitarists. “I’m not a shredder like Brett,” says Vobejda. “I come from the classic punk background. I’m more like drunken Slash meets Kurt Cobain strung out. Somehow it all works out – an ugly thing that turns into a beautiful thing.” The rhythm section quickly dialed-in a lean, less-is-more symbiosis between Berg and Savage. “In this band there’s a yin/yang chemistry,” explains Berg. “In some other bands there isn’t much yin to the yang. But with this group we have a lot more open space to take liberties.”

FuZZrd benefits from contrasting styles that seem to mesh pretty damn well. “I’m not a metal drummer,” Savage admits. “I’m actually a groove drummer, and I’ve always been interested in serving the song, rather than showing my chops. I’m a huge fan of Prince, R&B and Cheap Trick. It was a big change for Brett because he was used to borderline out-of-control metal.”

The four members were ready to unleash the beast in 2020, but then COVID-19 intervened. Amid the crucible of 2020, the band was determined not to let a pandemic go to waste. FuZZrd decided to record their new tracks with producer/engineer Jeremy Tappero, who has made countless records in Minneapolis and is best known for his recent work with Soul Asylum (and a longtime ally and collaborator of Petrusek and Berg from their days in Downtread).

They’re stoked about the work-in-progress. “We’re all having so much fun with it,” says Savage. “I hate to say we’re taking advantage of the pandemic, but the down time has really been important for the band’s chemistry. This is a different way of doing a band. We haven’t even played a show yet! But we’re really loving what we’ve got.”

2021 marks an inflection point for FuZZrd and all the rest of us. A chance to rip off old bandages, turn the page, and confront what’s really important in life. You might as well find a soundtrack that perfectly captures the moment…and crank it up damn loud. FuZZrd is Brett Petrusek (Lead Vocals / Guitars), Robert Berg (Bass / Background Vocals), Eric Vobejda (Background Vocals / Guitars) and Scott Savage (Drums).

SKULL REVENGE Release New Single "My Revenge" Feat. SORCERER, THERION Members; Lyric Video Streaming

Skull Revenge have released their new single, "My Revenge". Watch a lyric video for the song below.

Skull Revenge is the name of the new born music project within the hard rock/heavy metal genre. The founder and the co-producer of this project have a vision to mix heavier guitars that many relate to growl or scream vocals, but instead have really clean melodic voices over it.

"Its not inventing the wheel again, its just about creating great hard rock/heavy metal," says Tobias Flensburg. "The foundation of Skull Revenge is a collaboration between Swedish and Norwegian musicians and producers but is not limited to these countries. We are always on the look out for new talent that we think can enhance the music experience further. We handpick vocals and other talents for every new single to match the song and to bring the emotion and soul for just that song.

The lineup:

Tore Fagerheim - Guitars/Bass
Tobias Flensburg - Drums
Anders Engberg (Sorcerer) - Lead Vocals
Christian Vidal (Therion) - Solo Guitarist
Mathias Rosen - Keyboards

FARGO To Release Strangers D'Amour Album In June; Artwork And Tracklisting Revealed

FARGO To Release Strangers D'Amour Album In June; Artwork And Tracklisting Revealed

We all know that experience is one of the most valuable resources of an artist. That irreplaceable talent of distinguishing the significant from the insignificant and always operating with perfect timing rather than being guided by nervous impatience easily balances out youthful enthusiasm and a penchant for experimentation.

Hanover rock act Fargo, comprising founder and bassist ´Fargopedda` Knorn, vocalist/guitarist Peter Ladwig, who joined the fold a little later, and drummer Nikolas Fritz (Mob Rules), has that experience and has once again deployed it: Three years after their comeback album Constellation (2018), June 25 will see the arrival of the group’s new (sixth) album, Strangers D'Amour, proving that the band’s name has long become a trademark in its own right.

A trademark with a few innovations, that is: True to the motto “reduce to the max”, Strangers D'Amour presents Fargo as a trio. The essence of Fargo, consisting of Knorn, Ladwig and Fritz, had already featured on Constellation and has now recorded eleven new songs in spring 2021, composed by Peter Ladwig and – with two exceptions – written by Peter Knorn.

“Compared to Constellation, Strangers D'Amour sounds even more mature and rounded, with our typically driving beats and lots of melodious chorus parts, but also with a few little surprises thrown in,” Knorn explains. “‘Gimme That Bone’ and ‘Why Don´t You’ have Ladwig play a Hammond organ and Fender Rhodes, as well as his guitar. And few previous Fargo recordings match the speed of ‘Rain Of Champagne’!”

Strangers D'Amour is complemented by its cover artwork featuring the three band members’ faces in a jungle guise, as if they’d just sprung from a primeval forest. Says Knorn: “The front cover stands for the wild and primal in all of us. Or the animalistic element, perhaps the ability to see into the future. To recognise these elements and to live in harmony with them, that’s what we wanted to convey with the album title.”

Strangers D'Amour will be released through SPV/Steamhammer on June 25 as CD digipak, LP in black vinyl and digital. There will also be an exclusive CD/LP bundle with a T-Shirt only available at the Steamhammer shop. Order here.

Tracklisting:

"Rain Of Champagne"
"Gimme That Bone"
"Closer To The Sun"
"Time"
"Mary Says"
"Law Of The Jungle"

"Dear Miss Donna Vetter"
"No Reason To Cry"

INTERLOPER Debut Animated Music Video For New Single "Search Party"

INTERLOPER Debut Animated Music Video For New Single "Search Party"

Progressive heavy metal vehicle, Interloper, have returned to present their debut, full-length album Search Party, which will be released on June 11 via Nuclear Blast Records. Pre-order the album here.

Today, the band releases the music video for the second single, "Search Party". Watch the animated music video, created by Tony Simone of Zen Beast Media, below.

Miles Dimitri Baker comments, "I am thrilled to have the title track for our record out! I feel it’s an amazing song to follow up the first single off this record. I think it does a great job of showing some of the diversity song to song that you can expect to hear on this record. 'Search Party' is one of my favorites on the record. I feel that the structure, melodies, and progressions in this tune were so beautifully done. I hope you all enjoy the title track off of our record Search Party as much as we do!"

Aaron Stechauner states, "This is my favorite Interloper song, and really my favorite song I’ve ever been involved with. I actually think it’s the best one on the album, alongside its sister song 'Cheshire'. When I listen to this song it doesn’t even feel like I’m listening to my own band… it feels like I’m listening to a song that one of my favorite bands wrote. One of those legend bands like Opeth or Gojira or Meshuggah. Not from a sound sense, more so from an emotional place. It’s kind of surreal to call it my own. That probably sounds a little dramatic or maybe even a bit pretentious, but it is a genuine feeling. I’m pretty anxious to see what people think about it because I probably care about people loving it as much as I do more than any other song."

Andrew Virrueta comments, "This song is one of my favorites off of the record. In my opinion, it's one of the tightest songs compositionally and this song, I think, sets the stage for the rest of the songs following its completion. 'Search Party' definitely sets a benchmark for me to meet throughout the rest of the album's writing process. I hope you all fall in love with this song like we did!"

The deep cohesiveness of Interloper’s writing process for Search Party allowed for a creative project with no real boundaries or restrictions. The album was produced by the band and Joey Virrueta. Drums were recorded at Big Bad Sound LA by Jack Ruley and Zach Fisher, with the mixing and mastering completed once more by Andrew’s brother Joey Virrueta.

The album artwork was created by Caelan Stokkermans.

SEVENTH CRYSTAL Premier "Déjà Vu" Music Video

SEVENTH CRYSTAL Premier "Déjà Vu" Music Video

Sweden's Seventh Crystal will release their debut album, Delirium on May 14 via Frontiers Music Srl. Watch a music video for the single "Déjà Vu" below, and pre-order/save Delirium on CD/Color LP/Digital, here.

Seventh Crystal, a new rock band from the fertile Swedish music scene, was put together by singer Kristian Fyhr. Initially, Kristian wanted to pursue a solo project, but when the songs started to take form, he realized he wanted to involve more musicians. So, he moved to vocals only and brought in Johan Älvsång (Pinstripe Conspiracy, Lamashtu) on keyboards/piano and Olof Gadd (Osukaru) on bass as the first key pieces, and then recruited Anton Roos on drums and Emil Dornerus on guitar to complete the lineup.

Seventh Crystal's music can best be described as arena hard rock with melodic rock influences. The band comments, “We would describe the band’s music and sound as an “intelligent” hard rock, but still very melodic. Our songwriting is very varied. We like to write songs in a pop style and then "beef" them up and make it rock. We're big admirers of everything from Cheiron Studio and Max Martin to Behemoth and Iron Maiden. So our influences come from a lot of different bands and music. But we kind of end up in the modern hard rock and arena rock sound, since that's where we have our common roots. When it comes to the songwriting, it is usually one or two of us who write the basic idea. But then each member adds their own touch and flavour and what comes out is the heavy, intriguing and exciting sound of Seventh Crystal!"

If you love the new wave of Scandinavian hard rock embodied by bands such as One Desire, H.E.A.T., and other bands who bring a huge sense of melody to modern rock, then this band is going to be right up your alley.

HIDEOUS DIVINITY Debut “Delirium Trigger” Visualizer; LV-426 EP Out Now

HIDEOUS DIVINITY Debut “Delirium Trigger” Visualizer; LV-426 EP Out Now

Italian technical death metal heavyweights, Hideous Divinity, have released a visualizer for “Delirium Trigger”, from their new EP, LV-426, out today via Century Media Records. Watch below:

The concept of the LV-426 EP is a sub-narrative of the second Alien movie, directed by James Cameron. Hideous Divinity states, “We chose to concentrate on the story of Rebecca ‘Newt’ Jorden, the six-year old girl rescued on the alien infested planetoid LV-426 by Ellen Ripley. We live the story from her point of view, a mixture of childhood’s happy life and memories cut off by the alien attack.”

The EP includes two brand new Hideous Divinity tracks (“Acheron, Stream Of Woe” & “Chestburst”) and a smashing tech-death cover version of Coheed And Cambria’s “Delirium Trigger”. Like its predecessor Simulacrum, the EP was produced by Stefan Morabito at 16th Cellar Studio, where he refined the band's signature sound consisting of bone-crushing riffs, superb drumming, and frightful vocals. Also, the EP features a stunning Alien-themed artwork by Colin Estrada.

CLOWN: Why SLIPKNOT Hasn't Staged Livestream Concert During Pandemic

CLOWN: Why SLIPKNOT Hasn't Staged Livestream Concert During Pandemic

In the fifth of a six-part interview with Terry "Beez" Bezer of Knotfest.com's "Mosh Talks With Beez", SLIPKNOT percussionist and co-founder M. Shawn "Clown" Crahan was asked if he and his bandmates have considered staging a livestream concert during the coronavirus pandemic. He responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "In my opinion, it's just too soon. I mean, the vaccine isn't even available to everyone yet. We can't fully explain what happened to the White House. We don't even understand what the hell's going on with our own problems as humans, let alone try to put together a livestream and make it translate to someone like you who wants it so badly in the room you're in. I take that very, very, very, very serious… The point is, for SLIPKNOT, being a very visual band, and beyond the art side of it, the music side… I mean, I don't know how I get together with everybody on lockdown, go through a set to make special for you, where we are convinced that it's coming through to you absolutely the way you need it. I need time for that. I don't know if everybody's got time. We're not even allowed to get out of the house in some places.

"I do realize many bands have done it, and I realize it works," he continued. "I realize fans like it. But for SLIPKNOT, I don't see it being much longer. A live album never even came to mind. A livestream — I have people breathing down my neck about a livestream. I will not waste money on a livestream, because if I am, it's gotta be wasted on you. I can't just get with a bunch of people that, all of a sudden, may or may not be working and aren't used to taking two and a half years off and having to figure out what to do.

"So when you ask me, 'Why don't you do it?', how am I gonna get the time and all these people together to give you the exquisite, beautiful art thing that you're needing so badly?" Crahan asked rhetorically. "And if I don't do it, and you see it, and you're, like, 'Man…' For example, let's say I don't use explosives. And I'm, like, 'But I tried to make it an intimate setting in a theater.' And you're, like, 'It's not good enough.' I don't even know how to approach this, man."

Last October, Crahan confirmed that SLIPKNOT had been using some of the downtime during the coronavirus crisis to work on new material.

SLIPKNOT's latest album, "We Are Not Your Kind", came out in August 2019. The disc sold 118,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in its first week of release to land at position No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Furthermore, the album made an impact worldwide with No. 1 debuts in the United Kingdom, Mexico, Australia, Canada, Japan, Ireland, Belgium, Portugal and Finland, as well as Top 5 debuts in Germany, France, Norway, Italy, Austria, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Poland, Spain and New Zealand.

"We Are Not Your Kind"'s sales in the U.S. were boosted by a concert ticket/album sale redemption offer with SLIPKNOT's summer 2019 tour.

In early 2020, Crahan said that a set of 11 previously unreleased songs recorded by four members of SLIPKNOT during the sessions for its 2008 LP "All Hope Is Gone" will arrive at some point during the "We Are Not Your Kind" touring cycle.

Crahan revealed the existence of the music in 2018, saying that he, singer Corey Taylor, guitarist Jim Root and DJ Sid Wilson wrote and laid down the more psychedelic-flavored tunes at a separate studio during an impasse in the recording of "All Hope Is Gone".

KINGDOM COME Might Have To 'Alter' Band Name In Order To Release New Music

KINGDOM COME Might Have To 'Alter' Band Name In Order To Release New Music

KINGDOM COME still hasn't worked out a settlement with original singer Lenny Wolf about releasing new music.

Wolf was not involved with KINGDOM COME's recent reunion tour, which celebrated the 30th anniversary of the release of the band's self-titled debut album.

KINGDOM COME's current lineup consists of drummer James Kottak alongside guitarists Danny Stag and Rick Steier, bassist Johnny B. Frank and vocalist Keith St. John (formerly of MONTROSE and LYNCH MOB).

Asked in a new interview with MetalAsylum.net if KINGDOM COME is working on new music, Keith said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "I can say this: we've been writing new material. Danny Stag lives in Pittsburgh; Johnny B. Frank lives in Jacksonville, Florida; so those guys write things on their own and kind of do it and send stuff over. And then the rest of us are here kind of in the L.A. area. So Rick Steier and I gather, and occasionally with James, and write riffs. And we've got a ton of ideas. We're just not sure what the future is with the name of the band, as much as if we're gonna have to alter the band name a little bit to move ahead with new music, or if it's gonna get worked out so that we can just be KINGDOM COME official and release as KINGDOM COME. So that's an issue that hasn't been worked out yet, to my knowledge. Either way, the band wants to put out stuff. We're writing stuff. Everybody in the band is chomping at the bit to release some stuff. For me, that would be the icing on the cake for me, 'cause it solidifies us as a band by writing new stuff. So, hopefully — hopefully, yeah."

St. John previously told RockMusicStar.com that the prospect of KINGDOM COME releasing new music was "still up in the air. There is uncertainty with what the legalities are with this lineup right now and everything being where it is, without signing any new contracts or agreements with us releasing something under the name KINGDOM COME," he said. "Of course, we can call the band something else and release anything we want as a band, but I believe we're still in negotiations with Lenny Wolf to sign off on releasing another KINGDOM COME record. And I'm not sure exactly where that's at right now, because we haven't really been talking about it since the COVID thing started."

He added: "So, the short answer is we have songs, and we wanna put 'em out, and when it's legally the right time to do it, we will."

Steier said in a summer 2020 interview that KINGDOM COME would debut some new material at the band's "Monsters Of Rock Cruise" live streaming event which was held last September. He went on to describe the group's new songs as "in the same vein as the KINGDOM COME-slash-ZEPPELIN vibe."

In a May 2019 interview with "Talking Metal", Kottak was asked about KINGDOM COME's future plans as it relates to recording. He responded: "Rick has enough music — I'm not kidding — riffs and stuff for, like, 10 albums; he's a songwriting machine."

During the same chat, Steier talked about KINGDOM COME's decision to play without Lenny, saying: "Lenny retired. It's something that he wanted to do. He wasn't into going and performing anymore. So God bless him, and we wish him all the best. But we still have some rocking blood in us. So we wanna get out there."

Back in 2018, Kottak admitted that he and his bandmates were initially concerned about whether people would accept KINGDOM COME without Wolf. "When we first put the word out to promoters and buyers, at first they were going, 'Oh yeah! KINGDOM COME!'" the drummer recalled to Eonmusic. "Then we had to go back a few weeks later and say, 'Sorry. Unfortunately, there will be no Lenny Wolf.' So, out of the 20 or so offers we had from different buyers, only three actually pulled out. I was surprised; I thought we'd get a little more backlash. But so many bands, especially bands with longevity, they change members; look at THIN LIZZY, how they changed, or name any band that's been around for 25, 30 years, and there's very few that have all the original members."

After its early run of success in the '80s, KINGDOM COME released several albums, with Wolf remaining the only constant member of the band. The group's most recent effort was 2013's "Outlier".

INHUMAN CONDITION Issues “Tyrantula” Video

INHUMAN CONDITION Issues “Tyrantula” Video

Newly formed death metal band Inhuman Condition have released their first single, “Tyrantula” with an accompanying video. “Tyrantula” will be on the group’s debut album Rat God.

Inhuman Condition announced its arrival earlier this year, when vocalist/drummer Jeramie Kling (ex-Massacre, Venom Inc, The Absence, Goregäng) and guitarist Taylor Nordberg (ex-Massacre, The Absence, Goregäng) revealed that the music that was previously written for the new Massacre album was to be revived in a new band with bassist Terry Butler (Obituary, ex-Massacre/Death/Six Feet Under).

“Finally these songs can start seeing the light of day!  It has been so long since they were originally written, but it has been well worth the wait. “Tyrantula” was such a fun choice for a single because it’s a total skull-smasher. From the intro, to the stomping riff, to the thrashy bits, it’s intense the whole way through, and I think it gets stuck in your head,” Nordberg said.

The video for “Tyrantula” was filmed at Bay Stage Live in Tampa, Florida by Deidra Kling, and edited by Jeramie Kling. The song on the album features a guest solo by fellow former Massacre member Rick Rozz, although he does not appear in the video.

The trio previously announced their partnership with Blood Blast Distribution to release the album on digital formats, a vinyl deal with Black Serpent Records (set for an August 6 release), and will self-release the CD via Kling/Nordberg's Listenable Insanity Records. The band has also signed several licensing deals with labels world-wide to release additional CDs, which will be announced soon.

Rat God was mixed by Kling and mastered by Nordberg at their own Smoke & Mirrors Productions in Spring Hill, Florida, where the album was written and recorded. The artwork for the album was done by Dan Goldsworthy (Accept, Cradle Of Filth, Alestorm, Xentrix).
