KORN's BRIAN 'HEAD' WELCH Signs With EARACHE RECORDS For New LOVE AND DEATH Album

KORN's BRIAN 'HEAD' WELCH Signs With EARACHE RECORDS For New LOVE AND DEATH Album

KORN guitarist Brian "Head" Welch has inked a deal with Earache Records for the the next album from his LOVE AND DEATH project. According to Welch's Nashville-based management company Straight 8 Entertainment, Earache will handle international distribution for both physical and digital formats for the effort, which is due in 2021.

Last year, Welch confirmed to "Good Company" that he was "almost done" recording his new LOVE AND DEATH album. "I'm working with Jasen [Rauch] from BREAKING BENJAMIN," he said. "And I'm talking to Spencer [Chamberlain] from UNDEROATH about possibly doing something. And Lacey [Sturm] from FLYLEAF… She is singing on a cover song, but I can't tell you which song it is. It's gotta be a surprise."

Welch's last non-KORN release was the "Lo Lamento" single from LOVE AND DEATH, which came out in March 2016. Joining Welch on the track were Rauch, who produced the song, JR Bareis (from ISLANDER) and Dan Johnson from RED. Head shared vocal duties on the track with Bareis.

"Lo Lamento" was given away as a free download to everyone who purchased Welch's "With My Eyes Wide Open: Miracles And Mistakes On My Way Back To Korn" book.

Welch's first solo album, "Save Me From Myself", came out in 2008.

LOVE AND DEATH's debut full-length, "Between Here & Lost", was released in 2013.

KORN's latest album, "The Nothing", was released in September 2019 via Roadrunner/Elektra. The follow-up to 2016's "The Serenity Of Suffering" was once again produced by Nick Raskulinecz.

DARK TRANQUILLITY's MIKAEL STANNE Says 'Moment' Is 'Closer To 'Projector Than Any Of Our Previous Albums'

DARK TRANQUILLITY's MIKAEL STANNE Says 'Moment' Is 'Closer To 'Projector Than Any Of Our Previous Albums'

Kyle McGinn of Dead Rhetoric recently conducted an interview with vocalist Mikael Stanne of Swedish melodic death metal pioneers DARK TRANQUILLITY. A few excerpts from the chat follow below.

Dead Rhetoric: What was it like to write an album without [founding guitarist] Niklas [Sundin]?

Mikael: "It was strange. There was an absence on 'Atoma' as well, as that was when he began to focus on where he needed to be, and it was a struggle to get the album done because of that. So we had to take the reins more than usual already. So going into this album, knowing that we have Chris [Amott] and Johan [Reinholdz], we had to incorporate their talents and way of playing and thinking into it. But we also had a lot of songs ready. So we had a starting point, and knowing where things were going initially. So having Johan and Chris interpret the songs, and not having a time schedule — we were not in a hurry or rush at all. We tried things out to see how they worked and went back and forth on a lot of stuff, to leave some things open to interpretation but also remain true to what is fundamentally DARK TRANQUILLITY in sound. So it was strange and weird not having that comfort, but Martin Brändström [keyboards] has grown into this role even more with this album. He took on a lot more responsibility when it comes to making sure that everyone is on the same page, keeping the songs focused and strong. He made sure the songs kept to the rules and ideas that we are about. Credit goes to Martin for keeping it all together and keeping things focused."

Dead Rhetoric: What do Johan and Chris bring to DARK TRANQUILLITY?

Mikael: "A kind of energy, but fresh perspective into writing the songs. They can be enthusiastic and as critical about anything as we are. It has served to make these songs different in the way that we would like them to be. Sometimes Johan would do something that we thought was fantastic but didn't fit, or sometimes Chris would do something fantastic, but it wasn't really D.T. — there's this weird policing that goes along with it. But in a positive way, to retain what we are about. But having fresh ears and hands to tackle the material has really opened up new possibilities when it comes to writing and recording going forward, as well as playing these songs live."

Dead Rhetoric: You've been working hard on the road the last few years, did the coronavirus give to time to relax at all? Did you work on any home brewing?

Mikael: "Yeah [laughs], what else can I do? I've been drinking a lot, brewing a lot. I wouldn't say it's relaxed, as we have been keeping ourselves busy. But you can be much more relaxed when thinking about upcoming things. You don't have to be worried or rush things. You don't have to have that stress in your system, like finishing something before going on tour. Now we could just focus on the album and go from there. We didn't need to plan the entire year going forward. I think that gave us a different vibe in the studio. Then halfway through, we realized that we didn't need to release it when we initially thought. We could go another month. That afforded us more opportunities and things to do. We could relax, but I don't want that. I want to have a tour plan from the day of the release of the album, so we can go out and travel and see people and perform. Do all that stuff. But it's been a very creative time for the band for sure. We spent so much more time writing, arranging, and producing that we normally wouldn't do. So in that respect, it has been good. I've been more productive this year than I ever have. [Laughs] In that way, I'm really glad that we have this kind of job, even if we rely on an audience and touring. Since we dedicated this year to recording an album anyway, not much changed. We did cancel like 65 shows, but hopefully when this blows over, we can get them back and start again. It's troubling and worrisome, and it makes you feel miserable, but I try to enjoy it for what it is right now. To get the most out of it, and say yes to things that I might normally would say no to. Things that I might not be able to do if I was busy with something else. I can do things that I have thought are interesting, cool, or challenging."

Dead Rhetoric: I think that melancholy really comes through with the new album. The way the clean vocals are in there too. There's some nice "Projector" feelings at times.

Mikael: "Cool, yeah maybe. This one is closer to 'Projector' than any of our other previous albums, I don't know. When we feel like we have the time or opportunity to dig into that [melancholy], it makes it so creatively interesting. We could do a pre-production of all the album and even more songs, and just try things out. We can play with it, change it, have Johan rewrite the song, and then do it all over again. The luxury of having five different versions of songs sometimes and picking the best parts and mixing/matching so we have the right kind of vibe and energy for each song. It really helped this time."

You can read the entire interview at Dead Rhetoric.

"Moment" will be released on November 20 via Century Media Records. The album was recorded at Nacksving Studios and Rogue Music by Martin Brändström and then mixed/mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios.

AC/DC's PHIL RUDD: How I Ended Up Returning To The Band

AC/DC's PHIL RUDD: How I Ended Up Returning To The Band

During an appearance on a recent episode of Dean Delray's "Let There Be Talk" podcast, AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd confirmed that the seed for his return to the band was planted at the funeral of AC/DC rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young in 2017. Rudd, singer Brian Johnson and bassist Cliff Williams all attended the ceremony. At the time, the three musicians were considered former members of AC/DC, with Johnson and Williams both having left in 2016 for health reasons, while Rudd was sidelined in 2015 with various legal issues.

"Angus and I had a good chat at Mal's funeral and caught up," Rudd recalled (hear audio below). "[After I played on the 'Rock Or Bust' record] there was crazy shit going on, but since then, I'd got my shit together and put a little band together, I went to Europe and was doing a bit of playing and stuff and did [a solo] album. The guys knew I was still playing, so when I caught up with Angus at the funeral, we were sort of chatting away and somehow, he just sort of [asked me] if I was up for [doing a new AC/DC] album. And he started writing the next day. He went in the studio and started writing straight away."

Rudd was ousted from AC/DC when he was sentenced to eight months of home detention by a New Zealand court in 2015 after pleading guilty to charges of threatening to kill and drug possession.

Rudd, who appeared on all but three of AC/DC's 18 previous studio albums, toured in support of his 2014 solo debut, "Head Job". It was the release of that album that led indirectly to Rudd's arrest, with the drummer allegedly so angry at a personal assistant over the way the record was promoted that he threatened to have the man and his daughter killed.

Angus told Rolling Stone that it was indeed Malcolm's funeral that helped heal old wounds.

"[Phil] was there and in good shape," the guitarist said. "He was keeping himself well together. He was getting therapy and sorting himself out. It was really good."

Johnson added that he and the rest of AC/DC welcomed Rudd with open arms. "I speak for all the boys with Phil," he said. "We defend Phil to the hilt. What happened up there, that's not the Phil we know. That was just something else. He's really looking brilliant now and doing everything great."

AC/DC's long-awaited comeback album, "Power Up", is due on November 13. The follow-up to 2014's "Rock Or Bust" was recorded over a six-week period in August and September 2018 at Warehouse Studios in Vancouver with producer Brendan O'Brien, who also worked 2008's "Black Ice" and 2014's "Rock Or Bust".

OZZY OSBOURNE: 'I've Been Closer To TONY IOMMI In The Last 18 Months Than I Ever Have Been'

OZZY OSBOURNE: 'I've Been Closer To TONY IOMMI In The Last 18 Months Than I Ever Have Been'

During a new one-hour special celebrating 40 years of Ozzy Osbourne's debut solo album, "Blizzard Of Ozz", Ozzy spoke to host Matt Pinfield about the third track off the LP, "Goodbye To Romance", which was written about Osbourne being fired from BLACK SABBATH.

"That was the first song we [Ozzy, guitarist Randy Rhoads and bassist Bob Daisley] wrote," he said (hear audio below). "It was a song I wrote about maybe we'll meet in the end, which I'm glad we did at the end.

"[The SABBATH guys are] never that far away from my thoughts, whether I like them today or not," the singer, who suffered from several medical issues last year, including a fall, neck surgery and hospitalization for the flu, revealed. "Since I've been laid up these last 18 months, [SABBATH guitarist] Tony Iommi has been such a support for me — so supportive. I've been closer to him in the last 18 months than I ever have been. We never got on for years. But whatever he did before and whatever I did before…

"When you're laid up, you find out who your real friends are. And I'll tell you what — Jonathan [Davis] from KORN, I barely knew him from the Ozzfests, he's been so supportive.

"It's so important that when you're laid up, somebody cares enough to give you a thought. That's all you need — a phone call or a text. It means the world."

Earlier this year, Osbourne praised Iommi during an appearance on producer Rick Rubin's "Broken Record" podcast, saying: "Tony, he's always gonna be the greatest — no one can touch him. And actually, to this day, I still don't understand how he plays guitar, 'cause he's got no fingertips; he plays with plastic fingers."

Osbourne also expressed his admiration for the legendary guitarist over how he soldiered on with SABBATH's planned reunion even after being diagnosed with the early stages of lymphoma almost a decade ago.

"I mean, there is a man," Ozzy said. "When he got diagnosed with cancer, he just dealt with it. That's him. I'm going [imitates crying sound], and he's, like, 'Whatever I have to do.' He's like that. He's always been like that. Very calm."

According to Ozzy, Tony was always the most important member of SABBATH. "He was the band, really," Osbourne said. "We were all part of the band, but he was the most irreplaceable one [out of all of us]."

Osbourne also touched upon his personal relationship with Iommi, revealing that he still looks up to his longtime friend and bandmate.

"People will say to me, 'Why did you always sing on the side of the stage?' I don't fucking know. I don't know," he said. "It's just fear, I suppose. 'Cause Tony, he's one of the few people who could walk into this room right now and I would fucking feel intimidated. He intimidates the fuck out of me — and he knows it."

Back in November 2018, Osbourne said that he didn't particularly like working with Iommi even though he appreciated the BLACK SABBATH guitarist on a personal level. His remarks echoed those he made two months earlier when he told Philadelphia Inquirer that he "didn't have a great time" on SABBATH's final tour. He explained: "I spent nine or 10 years in SABBATH, but I'd been away from them for over 30 years. With them, I'm just a singer. With me, I get to do what I want to do. I was getting bad vibes from them for being Ozzy. I don't know — what the fuck else can I be?"

A couple of weeks after Ozzy's Philadelphia Inquirer interview was published, Iommi was asked by The List if he had a response to the singer's comments. Iommi said: "I saw that, but I don't know what he meant. I had a great time on the last tour playing with the guys, and Ozzy never mentioned anything to me. He seemed to enjoy it and we had a laugh, so I don't know. So I think possibly that quote was taken out of context."

LARS ULRICH Says METALLICA Has Faced 'Significant Complications' Writing Music Virtually

LARS ULRICH Says METALLICA Has Faced 'Significant Complications' Writing Music Virtually

METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich joined Kara Swisher at the CNBC Evolve Summit on November 10 to explain how the music industry has changed over his career and how the band incorporates cutting-edge technology to take the fan experience to new heights.

Asked if METALLICA is working on a new studio album during the coronavirus pandemic, Lars said: "I would say theoretically, we always have another album coming out. And so we have been trying to do as much as we could in the last seven months, trying to make a difference with our foundation and with our music and with connecting to people. And so we have been working the last six [to] eight weeks virtually.

"Being a rock and roll band and working virtually is not super easy," Lars continued. "Time delays, all these things make it really hard. The main thing we miss is being able to hear each other. [Laughs] So if we're all four in a room together, we can connect with each other and we can hear each other. If I'm playing here in San Francisco, and Kirk [Hammett] and James [Hetfield], our two guitar players, are either in O'ahu or Colorado, there are significant time delays. It's very hard for us to play at the same time. If I'm doing what we call steering, which means that I'm playing a beat and they're playing to me, I can't hear what they're playing, and vice versa. We can't all hear each other in a universal fashion. So there are some significant complications we have. Our recording team and our production team are speaking to software makers all over the world [about] how to crack the code on this. Nobody has quite figured it out yet."

In early May, the four members of METALLICA overcame social distancing to record a new version of their song "Blackened", with each member separated in his own home. The split-screen video was posted to the band's social media channels. That same month, Ulrich told Swedish talk show host Fredrik Skavlan that he and his bandmates were "sending ideas to each other via e-mail and via Zoom and [trying to] make music in these unusual situations."

In August, METALLICA broadcast a show to hundreds of drive-in and outdoor theaters across the U.S. and Canada, as part of the "Encore Drive-In Nights" series. The concert was filmed nearly three weeks earlier, on August 10, at the Gundlach Bundschu winery, about a 30-minute car ride from the band's headquarters in San Rafael, California, and was subsequently edited and mixed by the band's award-winning production team to the highest standards possible.

METALLICA's "Live & Acoustic From HQ: Helping Hands Concert & Auction" will be streamed live from the band's headquarters on Saturday, November 14. The special acoustic show starts at 2:00 p.m. Pacific Time and will benefit METALLICA's All Within My Hands foundation. If you are not able to watch the show live, your ticket will allow you to watch the show as many times as you like within a 48-hour period once you start the stream.

SAVATAGE return?

SAVATAGE return?

In a new TrueMetal.it interview with Al Pitrelli (ex-Megadeth, Savatage, Trans-Siberian Orchestra) that will be published in the next few days, the guitarist talked about the possibility that Savatage will return to activity:

Q: Many hoped that the concert in Wacken meant an imminent return of the band to the stage. Is there any news about it? Have you ever talked about it among yourselves? Have any of you written any new music?

Al Pitrelli: "Jon Oliva is a fantastic musician and is always working on new music, constantly sending me new songs and new ideas. When we work for TSO we sit down together at the piano and listen to his ideas for new Savatage songs. We always talk about doing something, I would like more than ever to get the band back together and back on tour. I know the fanbase in Europe would be delighted, and it would be nice to be able to do that. Yes, we talk about it a lot and I think one day we will because, as I told you, the world changes in a moment and I don't want to one day have the regret of saying, 'We should have done it when we could!' Let's try to live to the fullest and not wait to do something, let's do it! I can't wait for that day... I don't have a date, an hour, or an exact plan, I just know that we all want it very much."

Q: So at the moment there haven't been more concrete discussions with agents or promoters?

Pitrelli: "That's right, for now it's just chatter between us, we're just a bunch of friends saying, 'Dude, it would be nice to pick up and tour.' Until recently we were saying, 'Okay, now let's finish the winter tour and then start planning a spring tour, or a new album, or the next winter tour', really, it's a full time job just to keep the car running. It's the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and in the midst of it we were like, 'It would be nice to go play in Europe in the summer', there are so many possibilities.

"Like I said, sometimes life takes over, like when you hang out with your best friend and you say, 'Wow, why haven't we talked to each other in three years? Ah, right, I've had children, you have had children...', you know, sometimes life gets in the way, particularly as one gets older and other responsibilities take over. What I do know is that we all talk about it often, particularly now that we have a lot of time to talk. The conversation is still open, I spoke to Chris Caffery just this morning, he greets you, by the way. Jeff Plate, Johnny Lee, we all talk about it all the time, it's just a matter of saying, 'Okay, let's leave this pandemic behind and focus on the important things in life!'"

BLACK SABBATH's GEEZER BUTLER Criticizes CARDI B's 'WAP': 'It's Disgusting'

BLACK SABBATH's GEEZER BUTLER Criticizes CARDI B's 'WAP': 'It's Disgusting'

BLACK SABBATH's Geezer Butler has blasted rap superstar Cardi B over the suggestive lyrics to her single "WAP", calling it "disgusting."

"WAP" debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart in August, breaking numerous streaming records and spawning a viral TikTok dance challenge. The track, which is viewed as an empowering feminist anthem by some and gratuitously offensive by others, has also been the subject of controversy, with several right-wing commentators implying "WAP" was specifically marketed to young girls, when the song's obvious audience is adults.

Butler offered his opinion of "WAP" in an interview with U.K.'s Kerrang! magazine while discussing "Unspeakable Elvis", a song from his 1997 solo album "Black Science", which was reissued in October.

"That's really about the fact that whatever new music comes out, it's viewed as the devil's music," the bassist said about the "Unspeakable Elvis" lyrics. "I remember when Elvis [Presley] came out everybody said he was Satan. And then in the '60s and '70s, he became America's national treasure. It happens with every new wave of music. Like metal, obviously. The Christians were going mental when SABBATH came about. And then when rap came about, people were up in arms about that and certain words that rappers were using. I have to say, though, that Cardi B pisses me off with that 'WAP' song. It's disgusting! But there you go."

He continued: "A friend of mine didn't know what the song was about but his 10-year-old girl was singing it. I was, like, 'What?!' To put it on album, fair enough. But to put it out as a single? That's a it's a bit much. Then again, I'm 71. A bloody old goat."

Butler is not the first rock musician to criticize "WAP". This past September, Michael Sweet of openly Christian rockers STRYPER called the song "crap" and said he didn't want his granddaughter subjected to that "garbage."

"I don't wanna come across like a prude or someone that is closed-minded, but I just find it interesting how, here we are in 2020 fighting for women's rights, as we should be, and you've got videos like that," Sweet told the "Cobras & Fire" podcast.

"There's a time when it's not about judging — it's just about what's right and what's wrong," he continued. "I have a little granddaughter who has probably heard that song, and I'm thinking to myself, that just pisses me off. It pisses me off, the fact that she most likely has heard the song, because I don't want that garbage going into my granddaughter's ears.

"I think that we have a responsibility as artists, and many artists cross that line," Sweet added. "I said the same thing about [former child star] Miley Cyrus. Here she is on Disney — all these kids are looking up to her and following her — and the next thing you know, live in concert, she's riding a big, hanging… whatever," referring to the fact that Miley had a giant inflatable penis as a stage prop during her "Bangerz" tour. "And I'm just thinking, can't she just have a little responsibility — even just a smidgen of responsibility?"

Still, Sweet said he respected Cardi B's right to express herself freely as an artist.

"We live in America — she can do whatever she wants, as can I, by commenting on it," he said.

STRYPER's MICHAEL SWEET Laments Amount Of Negativity He Has Received From Supposed 'Fans' Based On His Political Views

STRYPER's MICHAEL SWEET Laments Amount Of Negativity He Has Received From Supposed 'Fans' Based On His Political Views

Michael Sweet of openly Christian rockers STRYPER says that he has never in his life seen so much negativity from supposed "fans" based on his most recent comments regarding politics.

Earlier in the week, Sweet defended his support of Donald Trump, saying that the real estate mogul "has done a lot of good things for America."

Despite the fact that he is twice divorced and has faced over two dozen accusations of sexual misconduct, Trump has continued to be white Christians' preferred candidate for this year's presidential election, with some insisting that the president is a Christian hero who is standing up for religious rights.

On Friday (November 6), Sweet took to his social media to post the following message: "I have never in my life seen so much negativity from supposed 'fans' based on my most recent comments regarding politics.

"I'm always respectful and I never name call and belittle. If someone comes here and goes off I won't hesitate to ban or block. Why? Not because I'm afraid to answer questions but because I'm tired of the negativity. I don't have time for it. I won't make time for it.

"Over the past few weeks I've seen so many fans say that they are done with me and or the band just because I've spoken out a few times about my choices and my opinions. Would you rather I shut my mouth and turn a blind eye? Would you rather I be a coward and a deceitful person and turn from my views and convictions? I never have so why would I start now? For me to remain silent and not talk about the things that I am passionate about and that I care about would go against all that I am.

"I've been on this earth for 57 years and I have never in my life seen so much separation, division & hatred. It comes from both sides and I see that and I am very aware of that. I have never implied that it's one-sided. Ever. I will also never just 'stick to music'. I made a choice 37 years ago to not just stick to music but to stand for Christ and to mix faith with music. You should know where I stand. You should not be surprised.

"I guess this is just the world that we are faced with. We cannot except [sic] other views and other opinions and we have to try to destroy and banish our friends and our families based on a difference of opinion. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't feel that it's ever been so bad. My intentions have never been to disrespect any of you. My heart has always been to help and to encourage and inspire. To lift up, not tear down. I've devoted my life to that and that is still my heart.

"I have always boldly spoken out about my convictions. This is nothing new. Once again, I try to do so with respect and that will never change. I'm a man of integrity (at least I'd like to think so) and I want to live my life exemplifying that. It's very sad to see that some people aren't able to handle someone being open and honest respectfully but I guess that's just the world that we live in.

"To everyone who has unfollowed me or who has stated that they are 'done' with me, I wish you well and I wish you all the best, sincerely. I do however hope & pray for a better world - a world where we can all come together despite our differences. Where we can listen to each other and hear each other out without shutting each other out. I know we have it in us and as I've always said, it starts with love.

"God bless you all, M".

Asked in a recent interview with Slabber.net why he voted for Trump in 2016 and why he believes Trump is a Christian, Sweet said: "I have put it out there already that I voted for Donald Trump four years ago. I voted for him because I had really become fed up with politicians. I feel like most, if not all, politicians are there to tell us what we want to hear so they can get into office, and once they get there they don't deliver. So, when Donald Trump came around, I thought, okay, this guy is not a politician and he's going to be different, and that's why I voted for him.

"I don't think his delivery is often good," Sweet continued. "I wish he would stay off Twitter. The way he presents himself, the way he speaks, and some of the things he says get under my skin as much as anyone else. But I do feel Donald Trump has done a lot of good things for America, especially for the economy.

"I think it's very easy to blame someone for the economy tanking due to a pandemic that's not their fault. This pandemic would have come along regardless of who the president is, and the economy would have tanked regardless. No president in the world could stop the coronavirus coming but Donald Trump has been easy to blame. I don't feel that is justifiable and I feel that it's wrong.

"Joe Biden is an example of someone using Trump and this virus to suit his agenda of getting into office," Michael added.

"There's a lot of people out there who don't like their boss, but their boss is in the that position because they do a good job for the company they work for. That's kind of how I view Donald Trump. I don't love everything he says or does, but I voted for him. But by saying all of that, and being Michael Sweet of STRYPER, that opens the door for me to be attacked. I'm okay with that. I'm not gonna run from what I do or say. I'm not afraid to be challenged for my decisions."

Back in November 2016, Sweet drew criticism from some STRYPER fans for posting a picture of Donald Trump and congratulating the real estate mogul for "working his ass off for the presidency of the United States of America."

In early March, Sweet praised Trump's actions that served to ramp up the federal government's response to the COVID-19 epidemic — even after Trump was criticized by some parts of the media for downplaying fears about COVID-19 or actively spreading misinformation about its repercussions.

This past May, Sweet said that he would like to see his band represented by Trump's fourth White House press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany.

In October, Sweet praised Amy Coney Barrett, who narrowly won confirmation to fill the vacancy left by the death in September of liberal Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, for answering questions during confirmation hearings "with poise, grace, patience, humility and intelligence."

Barrett has close ties to People Of Praise, a charismatic Christian religious group which has conservative stances on the role of women in society and other social issues. Former members of the group say it teaches that wives must submit to the will of their husbands.

According to The Washington Post, 65 percent of Republicans are white Christians, but white Christians account for only 38 percent of Democrats.

Listen To New AC/DC Song 'Realize'

Listen To New AC/DC Song 'Realize'

"Realize", a brand new song from AC/DC, can be streamed below. The track is taken from the legendary rockers' long-awaited comeback album, "Power Up", which is due on November 13. The follow-up to 2014's "Rock Or Bust" features AC/DC's 2020 lineup of Brian Johnson (vocals), Phil Rudd (drums), Cliff Williams (bass), Angus Young (guitar) and Stevie Young (guitar).

"Power Up" was recorded over a six-week period in August and September 2018 at Warehouse Studios in Vancouver with producer Brendan O'Brien, who also worked 2008's "Black Ice" and 2014's "Rock Or Bust".

"What I like about Brendan is that he keeps you working when you're doing a project with him," Angus told Rolling Stone. "He's talented himself. He knows his bass and his guitar and a bit of drums. And piano. He covers the spectrum for what we can do musically. It's very good because you’re working with a musician, since he can apply that musical knowledge."

Although AC/DC originally planned on releasing "Power Up" earlier this year, the pandemic forced the band to reconsider.

"We were hoping to get the album out before all this happened," Angus said. "They were getting ideas together for packaging and video promo things. And then that virus thing came along. It kind of put everyone on hold."

"Power Up" will be available in multiple configurations that will excite collectors and die-hard fans alike, including digital, CD, and deluxe versions. The limited edition, one-of-a-kind deluxe "Power Up" box is the ultimate fan package. Hit the button on the side of the box and watch the flashing neon AC/DC logo light up while the opening bars of "Shot In The Dark" blast out of the built-in speaker. Inside the box is the full CD package in a soft-pack with a 20-page booklet that features exclusive photos and USB charging cable allowing the box to remain powered up and on display. The vinyl LP will be pressed on 180-gram vinyl and housed in a gatefold jacket. Limited-edition variants of the LP will be available at select retailers nationwide, as well as the band's online store. The album will be available on all digital platforms.

Ever since AC/DC completed the tour cycle for its 2014 album "Rock Or Bust" four years ago — a turbulent trek that weathered the forced retirement and eventual death of co-founder Malcolm Young, plus the departures of Johnson, Rudd and Williams — fans have wondered whether sole remaining founding member Angus Young would keep the band going or decide it was time for AC/DC to pack it in.

The legendary hard rockers postponed the last ten dates of their North American tour in 2016 after doctors told Johnson he faced a total loss of hearing if he did not stop touring immediately. He was eventually replaced on the road by GUNS N' ROSES vocalist Axl Rose.

Rudd was ousted from AC/DC when he was sentenced to eight months of home detention by a New Zealand court in 2015 after pleading guilty to charges of threatening to kill and drug possession.

THE PRETTY RECKLESS To Release 'Death By Rock And Roll' Album In February; Artwork, Track Listing Revealed

THE PRETTY RECKLESS To Release 'Death By Rock And Roll' Album In February; Artwork, Track Listing Revealed

THE PRETTY RECKLESS will release its new album, "Death By Rock And Roll", on February 12, 2021 via Fearless Records in the U.S. and Century Media Records in the rest of the world. The latest single from the effort, "25", will arrive this coming Friday, November 13.

"After years of putting our blood sweat and tears into the recording, I'm so excited for you all to hear it," singer Taylor Momsen wrote in an Instagram post. She also shared the LP artwork and the hashtag #thenexterahasbegun.

"Death By Rock And Roll" is THE PRETTY RECKLESS's first album to be made without longtime producer Kato Khandwala, who died in April 2018 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

A few months ago, Momsen confirmed that RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE guitarist Tom Morello guests on "Death By Rock And Roll". Morello appears on a track called "And So It Went".

Morello joins previously announced guests Kim Thayil and Matt Cameron from SOUNDGARDEN. The song with Cameron and Thayil, called "Only Love Can Save Me Now", was recorded at Seattle's legendary London Bridge Studios, where seminal LPs like PEARL JAM's "Ten" and SOUNDGARDEN's "Louder Than Love" were laid down.

Momsen told Forbes about "Death By Rock And Roll": "We worked really hard on this album and we went through a lot of loss, a lot of tragedy, and we really poured our hearts and souls into it and in a way I can't express verbally. It's all there in the music, so that's why I say it feels like a rebirth. It almost feels like the first record in a sense, because we really had to go back to the beginning after losing Kato, our producer. I'm just really excited for people to hear it because, in my opinion, it's the best album we've ever made so it's hard to sit on this music.

"We talked about holding the song 'Death By Rock And Roll' for longer too, and I was, like, 'I can't do this. I can't just sit on this album forever.' The world needs music and music has such a healing thing to it, and it saved my life, time and time again. If we put out a song and if it can put a smile on some people's faces, great, we'll take it from there. That's kind of what we're doing — we're riding the wave. This is just such an unprecedented time so we're trying to take it step by step, and see where things go. Everything is still up in the air, but we are planning on releasing more singles before the full album is out. There's going to be more music to come."

MR. BUNGLE Releases Music Video For 'Sudden Death'

MR. BUNGLE Releases Music Video For 'Sudden Death'

MR. BUNGLE, which recently released its first album in over two decades, "The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny Demo", has partnered with acclaimed director Derek Cianfrance ("The Place Beyond The Pines", "Blue Valentine") for the band's "Sudden Death" video. The clip debuted this morning via Movieweb and can now be seen below.

Cianfrance said: "If you lived in Lakewood, Colorado, during the early 1990s, there's a slim chance you would have seen and heard a 16 -year-old boy driving slowly around town in a white, 1974 Mustang II, with his windows rolled down, disrupting the neighborhood by blaring the music of MR. BUNGLE. That 16-year-old kid was me, and that music that I listened to, over and over and over again, set the bar for my life as an artist. So, 30 years later, when I got a call from Mike Patton asking me to direct a music video for one of the songs on their new album, 'The Raging Wrath Of The Easter Bunny Demo', I questioned whether my life was really a dream... I informed Mike that I had never directed a music video before, but he wasn't dissuaded. I listened to the album and asked if I could work with the song 'Sudden Death'. It reminded me of the feelings of angst I carried throughout my youth while growing up in the shadow of a looming, forbidding thermonuclear war. I decided I could make a short film (well, not so short — the song is almost 8 minutes!) about these fears that haunted me. I was also interested in meditating on the theme of desensitization in modern society, where citizens are gradually and systemically numbed to the possibility of cataclysmic consequences. Since the song was written in the mid-'80s, I determined that the video should feel like it was made during that time and imagined it as some sort of rediscovered relic. Shooting during a global pandemic proved a fitting backdrop to the malaise of the song. It also presented a unique challenge as I was too nervous to work with actors — so I had to come up with another solution. making this video with a small team of trusted collaborators, and working with my life-long heroes, was nothing short of a total dream come true."

Cianfrance and Patton came to know one another after working together on the 2013 film "The Place Beyond The Pines". Cianfrance said in an interview with Pitchfork that once he shot the film, he knew the only person who should compose its score was Patton. Cianfrance has also incorporated music from Patton's discography into his current project, HBO's "I Know This Much Is True".

"When we first worked together, he told me he was a fan, and I didn’t believe him," said Patton. "Years later, he told me he gravitated to the most difficult tunes on BUNGLE records ('Dead Goon', 'Merry Go Bye Bye', 'Goodbye Sober Day') so him choosing 'Sudden Death' for this iteration of BUNGLE actually made perfect sense. The least commercial and longest song? That's where his ears and eyes go."

The video arrives as the band, whose current lineup features original Bunglers Trevor Dunn, Patton and Trey Spruance with Scott Ian and Dave Lombardo, celebrate not only the release of "The Raging Wrath Of The Easter Bunny Demo", but the wildly successful "The Night They Came Home!" livestream and the album's impressive entry on to worldwide music charts. The 11-song album entered Billboard's U.S. charts at No. 1 on Current Hard Music, No. 2 on Independent Albums, No. 3 on Rock Albums, and No. 6 on Top Current Albums. This is the first MR. BUNGLE album to enter the Top 10 on any album chart. Internationally, "The Raging Wrath Of The Easter Bunny Demo" debuted at No. 1 on Canada's Hard Music Chart (No. 7 Top Current Albums), No. 3 on the U.K.'s Rock & Metal Albums chart, and No. 6 on Australia's Top Albums chart.

"The Raging Wrath Of The Easter Bunny Demo" was produced by MR. BUNGLE, recorded by Husky Höskulds at Studio 606, and mixed by Jay Ruston. Rhea Perlman narrates "Anarchy Up Your Anus".

"Recording this music with these guys was an enormous head-rush of virtuosity and surprises every day in the studio," explained Patton. "Trey's video game-esque solos, Scott's bionic right hand and cyborg-like precision, Dave's caveman-meets-Bobby Brady-like drum fills, Trevor's solid foundation and laser-focus to detail. There is nothing sweeter than getting your ass kicked by true comrades…where everyone has a singular drive and mission."

Dunn added: "Recording this record felt like we were finally utilizing our Ph.Ds in thrash metal. All we had to do was go back to our original professors for some additional guidance and talk them into joining us. Turns out we were A+ students. We even went for extra credit by revisiting some tunes that we'd given up on back in the day. It was less like a trip of nostalgia and more like the refining of an original, worthy document. We were haunted for 35 years by the fact that this music wasn't given its due respect. Now we can die."

"The Raging Wrath Of The Easter Bunny Demo" track listing:

01. Grizzly Adams

02. Anarchy Up Your Anus

03. Raping Your Mind

04. Hypocrites / Habla Español O Muere

05. Bungle Grind

06. Methematics

07. Eracist

08. Spreading The Thighs Of Death

09. Loss For Words

10. Glutton For Punishment

11. Sudden Death

MR. BUNGLE was formed in an impoverished lumber and fishing town by a trio of curious, volatile teenagers. Trey Spruance, Mike Patton and Trevor Dunn beget the amorphous "band" in 1985 up in Humboldt County, California, sifting through a variety of members until around 1989 when they settled on a lineup that managed to get signed to Warner Bros. Records. No one really knows how this happened and it remains a complete mystery that even the algorithms of the internet can't decode. Up until 2000, they released three albums ("Mr. Bungle" in 1991, "Disco Volante" in 1995 and "California" in 1999), toured a good portion of the Western hemisphere and avoided any sort of critical acclaim. Some argue that the band subsequently broke up but there is also no proof of this. What is true is that they took 20 years off from performing under said moniker while they pursued various other musics that, in contrast, paid the rent.

ALICE COOPER To Release 'Detroit Stories' Album In February; Cover Artwork, Track Listing Revealed

ALICE COOPER To Release 'Detroit Stories' Album In February; Cover Artwork, Track Listing Revealed

Alice Cooper will release his brand new studio album, "Detroit Stories", on February 26, 2021 via earMUSIC. Fans will get a first taste of the upcoming album this Friday, November 13, when the first song, "Rock 'N' Roll", will be available everywhere.

Named for the city that launched the original Alice Cooper group on the road to success, "Detroit Stories" follows last year's "Breadcrumbs" EP as a modern-day homage to the toughest and craziest rock and roll scene there ever was.

In 1970, fledgling producer Bob Ezrin walked into a farmhouse on the outskirts of Detroit to work with the Alice Cooper band. Abandoning flower power Los Angeles, because they were the opposite of the hippie peace and love ideal, Alice had brought his decidedly darker gang back to his birthplace to the legendary rock scene that gave birth to hard rock, garage rock, soul, funk, punk...and more.

Ezrin drilled the band for 10 hours a day to define their signature sound. Whenever they nailed a song, the inmates at the hospital for the criminally insane across the road cheered and thus the classic Alice Cooper sound was born.

"Detroit was heavy rock central then," explains Alice, "You'd play the Eastown and it would be Alice Cooper, Ted Nugent, THE STOOGES and THE WHO, for $4! The next weekend at the Grande it was MC5, BROWNSVILLE STATION and FLEETWOOD MAC, or SAVOY BROWN or the SMALL FACES. You couldn't be a soft-rock band or you'd get your ass kicked."

"Los Angeles had its sound with THE DOORS, LOVE and BUFFALO SPRINGFIELD," he says, "San Francisco had the GRATEFUL DEAD and JEFFERSON AIRPLANE. New York had THE RASCALS and THE VELVET UNDERGROUND. But Detroit was the birthplace of angry hard rock. After not fitting in anywhere in the U.S. (musically or image wise) Detroit was the only place that recognized the Alice Cooper guitar-driven hard rock sound and our crazy stage show. Detroit was a haven for the outcasts. And when they found out I was born in East Detroit... we were home."

50 years later, Alice and Ezrin gathered some legendary Detroit musicians in a Detroit studio to record "Detroit Stories", Alice Cooper's new album that celebrates that spirit for a new era. If 2019's "Breadcrumbs" EP laid down the trail to the city, "Detroit Stories" drives like a muscle car right down Woodward Ave.

"We recorded with Wayne Kramer (guitarist and writer from the MC5), Johnny "Bee" Badanjek (drums; from the legendary DETROIT WHEELS), Paul Randolph (legendary Detroit jazz and R&B bassist) as well as the Motor City Horns and other local musicians," explains Ezrin, "We had musical ideas and encouragement from John Varvatos, the support of the folks at Shinola, and we recorded at Rustbelt Studios in Royal Oak. This was made in detroit for Detroit by Detroit denizens!"

"Detroit Stories" will be available on CD, CD+DVD digipak, CD box set (including CD, Blu-ray, t-shirt, face mask, torch light and 3 stickers), and 2LP gatefold.

The DVD and Blu-ray will show the incredible live performance "A Paranormal Evening At The Olympia Paris" for the first time on video. With the whole concert culture being shut down due to covid-19, Alice Cooper felt the need to share one of his latest shows with his fans as he cannot wait to get back on the road — better than ever.

THE DEAD DAISIES - New Album Available For Pre-Order; Cover Artwork Revealed

The Dead Daisies' new album, Holy Ground, is now available for pre-order. The powerhouse four-piece of Glenn Hughes (vocals), Doug Aldrich (guitars), David Lowy (guitars) and Deen Castronovo (drums) have set the release date for Friday, January 22nd, 2021 via SPV/Steamhammer.

Glenn Hughes comments: "From the opening track, 'Holy Ground', we were building a strong foundation. Each song has its own theme, full of drama, emotion and groove, all the way through to final track. We gave it our all, focused, and passionate. Take this ride with us, maybe you'll find yourself in the lyrics."

Doug Aldrich adds: "Holy Ground makes me happy to listen to now that it's done and we've had time away. It's heavy, groovy and is a fresh start for the band. It has the guitars that you expect I guess, but a new direction lyrically from Glenn. His lyrics are deep and leave room for imagination."

Pre-order Holy Ground here. Album details will be revealed soon.

The Dead Daisies have collaborated with Creative Works (London), a branding and content studio (live concert graphic artists for Guns N’ Roses and Aerosmith, amongst others) to provide the latest visuals for their newest single, “Bustle And Flow”. Together they are forging new ground creating narrative driven real-time immersive visual and music content, that spans live, social and digital channels. This Animated Music Experience (A.M.E) uses the Unreal Engine game engine that is behind the worldwide online video game phenomenon Fortnite, amongst others.

The Dead Daisies are always looking for original ideas and providing unique experiences for their fans. This new offering taps into the gaming aesthetic that dominates the globe and enables the band to connect with audiences of all ages, whilst remaining on the cutting edge of technology.

A spellbinding animation sets the backdrop for the song from their upcoming album, Holy Ground which will be released January 22, 2021.

In this dark, fiery tale a Mysterious Woman arrives at the entrance of a foreboding Sideshow Carnival that has pitched up on the outskirts of town in the grounds of an old dilapidated church graveyard. With stealth and speed on her side, the Raven deals out her punishment outwitting her prey at every turn and subjecting her quarry to a swift demise.

“Filled with energy and vigor, 'BustleAand Flow' emerged as one of the last tracks to make the cut. It builds and builds and has great movement. The song and the video are about walking through the fear,” says vocalist and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Glenn Hughes.

KINGDOM COLLAPSE Cover SALIVA’s “Always”; Video

San Antonio, Texas hard rock band Kingdom Collapse has released their cover of Saliva's "Always" to all digital outlets along with the official music video for the song.

"Jonathan and the guys in Kingdom Collapse did an incredible job with 'Always'. They're one of rock's next up and coming bands, and it's awesome to see them cover one of our biggest songs" says Paul Crosby, drummer of Saliva.

Jonathan Norris, vocalist of Kingdom Collapse adds, "'Always' was a favorite of mine since I was younger. I talked with Paul Crosby (drummer of Saliva) and the band about releasing it, and they gave us their blessing. It is pretty surreal!"

The Texas hard rock quintet recently released their new track, “Uprise,” perfectly capturing their ability to blend catchy hooks with their high-energy delivery. The single made both the Billboard Mainstream Rock Top 40 coming in at #39 and Mediabase Rock Top 40 at #35. “Uprise” was the #1 most played song on SiriusXM Octane for two weeks in July of 2020 and was also added to Spotify's Rock Hard Playlist and played on Music Choice.

“I’m very proud of what Jonathan and the band have accomplished,” says manager Aaron Smith. “We’ve all been working tirelessly over the past few years to build this, and it’s an incredible feeling to see how positively people are responding to ‘Uprise.’” This may be the world’s first mainstream taste of Kingdom Collapse, but the band has quietly amassed 4,000,000+ YouTube views and 2,000,000+ Spotify streams leading up to the release of “Uprise.”

TARJA To Perform Two Special Christmas Together Livestream Shows

TARJA To Perform Two Special Christmas Together Livestream Shows

Tarja will perform two special “Christmas Together” shows on December 11 and December 12, which will be streamed worldwide live. Tickets go on sale November 15 here.

Tarja comments: “More than ever, in these awkward times, we need to get together.
There are restrictions that are not letting us do it like we used to. I want to share the love I have for performing Christmas songs with you and by doing that, feel you closer. The worldwide live stream concerts with keyboard player Maria Ilmoniemi, cellist Max Lilja and guitarist Alex Scholpp will give me the chance to ‘visit you wherever you are.’ I have been doing Christmas shows since 2004 and it has become a tradition, but this year you will be able to explore my vision of Christmas with me from your home. I am truly happy about it. I am one of those who do not appreciate the over happy, commercial Christmas spirit and music.

“We will perform some of the most beloved Christmas classics and also my favorite Finnish ones in a very intimate setting. In my concerts, you will definitely find a dark atmosphere and completely unexpected arrangements for the known carols. Let my music help you to find peace of mind this Christmas.”

Tarja is officially starting the festive season with her live album Christmas Together: Live At Olomouc And Hradec Králové 2019, out now via earMUSIC. Order it here.

Tarja utilizes her classically-trained voice and meshes it with darker, gothic influences. Utilizing the sound of a grand orchestra, the successful Finnish solo artist puts a sinister spin on traditional holiday songs.

The album was produced by Tarja, the American Emmy Award-winning film score composer Jim Dooley and British producer Tim Palmer, known for his work with Pearl Jam, U2, David Bowie, and The Cure, among others, who also mixed the album at 62’ Studio in Texas. The album was mastered at Sterling Sound in NY City.

LANCE KING - Former PYRAMAZE, BALANCE OF POWER Singer Releases “Chaotica” Video

LANCE KING - Former PYRAMAZE, BALANCE OF POWER Singer Releases “Chaotica” Video

Iconic vocalist Lance King has revealed a new video, "Chaotica".

King says the song and video are a sardonic stab at ourselves, showing the trappings of humanity motivated by fight or flight fear, caught in a virtual cycle of projected reality that needs to be constantly dialed up to keep us under this subconscious spell. Tune out the illusion, create peace in yourself to raise our collective vibrations and consciousness to a level that the systemic structures of oppression have zero control of our triggers ever again. “Choatica” is from the album ReProgram by Lance King available everywhere fine music is sold.

ReProgram was co-produced by Lance King and renowned producer/guitarist Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Evergrey, Epica, Amaranthe). The album features an array of established co-writers and talented featured performers, including Kim Olesen (Anubis Gate), Markus Sigfridsson (Darkwater/Harmony), Matt Hodsdon (Chaos Frame), Rich Hinks (Annihilator/Aeon Zen), Morten Gade Sørensen (Pyramaze/Anubis Gate), Fred Columbo (Spheric Universe Experience), Mattias IA Eklundh (Freak Kitchen), and Jakob Riis (L Wood Joy).

Lyrically, the album explores themes including societal ills and the subjective nature of truth. Lance dives further into the human psyche than any rock performer in recent memory and this intellectual but soul-centered approach sets Lance King apart from his peers in the global metal community. There is a constant dissonance in our lives, and ReProgram looks to find harmony in the dissonant world that we have created.

FUCK THE FACTS Streaming New Track "An Ending"

FUCK THE FACTS Streaming New Track "An Ending"

Fuck The Facts are streaming the new song "An Ending", featured on their new album, Pleine Noirceur, due out November 20 via their very own label Noise Salvation. Pre-order the album here, and listen to the song below.

Fuck The Facts has amassed a respectable discography over the years, and this new offering joins the 7 LPs and 6 EPs released to date. The considerable amount of time the band has been working together shows in the natural chemistry that courses through each of the 12 tracks.

Fuck The Facts comments on the album: “We took a long break before working on this album, I feel like it’s a collection of bits and pieces; old and new, short and long. It’s us working back into the groove, just in time for a pandemic. This album also could have easily been 3 EPs, you really have to listen to the whole thing in order to fully enjoy it. It opens the door for what is next.”

What started as a basement recording project in the late '90s has blossomed into one of the most prolific bands in the Canadian extreme underground scene. Fuck The Facts have always been more about making albums than just writing songs, using what’s left over for a separate EP, but this time around they decided to put the extra songs as bonus tracks on the different physical copies of the release, so the vinyl, CD and cassette versions will each have a different bonus track that’s not available on the digital release.

The unapologetic, experimental album probably needs a few listens in order to fully enjoy. Put some noise-canceling headphones, choose your drug of choice, close your eyes, and enjoy.

CHASTAIN Feat. LEATHER LEONE - Rare "Endlessly" Live Video Surfaces

CHASTAIN Feat. LEATHER LEONE - Rare "Endlessly" Live Video Surfaces

Leviathan Records, the label run by guitarist David Chastain, has posted more live footage from the archives.

A message states: "Chastain exploded onto the metal scene with the release of their epic debut album, Mystery Of Illusion, in 1985. Shortly after the release of that album the band met up in Cincinnati, Ohio to play a concert at Bogart's. The band for the show was David T. Chastain on guitar, Leather Leone on vocals, Mike Skimmerhorn on bass, Russell Jinkens on second guitar and Les Sharp on drums.

"The concert was actually a showcase for a major label that Mike Varney had arranged. We recently found this concert on a Beta tape and had it transferred to digital format. Considering the show was 35 years ago and shot on one camera by a fan, it obviously has some technical flaws but we decided to release it for its "historical" importance. Leather's performance alone is worth the price of admission!

"'Endlessly' is the ballad of the album and shows Leather's vocal dexterity."Mystery Of Illusion has just been reissued on CD by Divebomb Records. (

TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA Streaming "Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24" With Narration; Visualizer

TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA Streaming "Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24" With Narration; Visualizer

In support of their upcoming livestream event, Trans-Siberian Orchestra have released a new visualizer featuring "Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24" from Christmas Eve and Other Stories (1996) with narration. Watch below:

In August, Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) was forced to make the heartbreaking announcement that, for the first time in more than 20 years, the group will not be able to tour during the holiday season. The multi-platinum, critically acclaimed, progressive rock group, is proud to make an exciting announcement today - to keep its rock holiday tradition alive, TSO will bring a performance right into fans' homes with the world premiere of its first-ever livestream event, Christmas Eve And Other Stories Live In Concert, on Friday, December 18.

TSO performing an all-new staging of its beloved album Christmas Eve And Other Stories, means that fans, despite missing so much in 2020, won't have to miss their favorite holiday tradition. This electrifying livestream will bring some much-needed rockin’ Christmas spirit to fans everywhere. In addition to the full album concert, fans will view special pre-show content including behind-the-scenes footage and classic interview segments.

General public on sale begins today. Keeping the TSO tradition of offering huge entertainment value for a low ticket price, advance tickets for TSO’s “Christmas Eve and Other Stories Live In Concert'' will be offered as a family-friendly $30 all-in ticket. For fans unable to view the livestream’s debut on Fri., Dec. 18, TSO will make the performance available for streaming on demand through midnight on Sun., Dec. 20.  In addition to purchasing the stream, fans will have the option to purchase gift packages, including T-shirts, ornaments, and masks, plus livestream tickets can be sent digitally to friends and family as presents. For more details and to purchase tickets and packages, visit trans-siberian.com.

TSO’s Music Director & lead guitarist Al Pitrelli said, “So many things have changed in 2020. Masks, social distancing, home schooling, and of course live entertainment. What will not change is all of us being able to celebrate the holidays together. It will just be in a different way.  For 21 years we’ve had the privilege of bringing our tours, including Christmas Eve And Other Stories, to hundreds of cities and millions of people. This year we will bring this timeless story to your living rooms. We will miss seeing all of you in person, but like Paul O’Neill always said, ‘adapt, overcome, and improvise.’ That’s exactly what we are going to do. This will be an opportunity to see your favorite holiday story up close and personal. We can’t wait to share this with all of you. In the meantime... Stay safe. Stay healthy. We’re on our way!”

This special event will bring together members of both the East and West bands for the first time since 2000 when TSO first began touring with two full groups. For the livestream, Bryan Hicks will narrate and Al Pitrelli (guitar) and Derek Wieland (keyboards) will serve as musical directors. The band will feature Chris Caffery (guitar), Mee Eun Kim (keyboards), Johnny Lee Middleton (bass), Asha Mevlana (violin), and Jeff Plate (drums). Vocalists will be Russell Allen, Nate Amor, John Brink, Erika Jerry, Chloe Lowery, Georgia Napolitano, and Jeff Scott Soto.

A product of the vision and imagination of TSO’s late founder, composer, and lyricist Paul O’Neill, Christmas Eve And Other Stories gave birth to the unique format O’Neill called “Rock Theater.” The story is set on Christmas Eve when a young angel is sent to Earth to bring back what is best representative of humanity.  Following favorite TSO themes of “strangers helping strangers” and “the kindness of others,” “Christmas Eve and Other Stories” takes listeners all over the world to help reunite a young girl with her distraught father. The album features such fan-favorites as both of which have not been performed live in recent years. The rock opera also features such TSO classics as "Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24," "O’ Come All Ye Faithful," "Good King Joy," "Promises To Keep," "This Christmas Day," “Ornament,” and the epic “Old City Bar.”

The debut studio album of Christmas Eve And Other Stories is available as a part of "The Christmas Trilogy," a three-album collection that also includes definitive TSO albums The Christmas Attic and The Lost Christmas Eve. "The Trilogy," which has been out of print for several years, will be available on November 20, and is available for pre-order now.

Since its historic touring debut, TSO has played approximately 2,100 concert dates for more than 17 million fans and has sold in excess of 12 million albums and DVDs.

EVERY MOTHER'S NIGHTMARE (EMN) Release "Here's To The Ones" Music Video

EVERY MOTHER'S NIGHTMARE (EMN) Release "Here's To The Ones" Music Video

Memphis-based rockers, Every Mother's Nightmare (EMN), have launched the second video, "Here's To The Ones" from their dynamic new album, Resurrect The Faithful. Released on October 23, Resurrect The Faithful is impacting radio around the globe and continues to gain momentum. The album is being hailed as the best in the band's career.

"Here’s To The Ones" is inspired by a fan and Veteran ‘Mighty Mike’, who met the band at a previous show. He waited all day to meet the band and when he finally did, he asked them to sign his prosthetic leg and take pictures. ‘Mighty Mikes’ actions had a profound affect on lead vocalist and EMN founder Rick Ruhl.

“He’s seen some shit and it really got to me. When telling this story in recent interviews, it still chokes me up every time. We owe our military who put themselves on the frontline to protect the freedoms of everyone in the US. Freedom at cost, Blood’s what we pay.” says Rick Ruhl

Recorded at Supernova Sound Memphis, Resurrect The Faithful differs from any of its predecessors. With a unique wall of guitars and a thunderous rhythm section, Resurrect The Faithful stands above anything the band has written and crosses various musical boundaries. The lyrical content delves into profound subject matter that can be determined by the listener as it relates to their own lives and situations. Each song takes on a life of their own – 11 scorching tracks of pure rock ‘n roll bliss at its finest and perhaps the most defining record in the bands career.

Tracklisting:

"Getaway"
"Breathe"
"Here's To The Ones"
"Sin In My Heart"
"When It Goes Away"
"Resurrect The Faithful"
"Fray"
"Sorry Today"
"Unstained"
"Drown By Luv"
"Love Can Make You Blind" (2020)

BAD WOLVES Release The Retaliators-Themed Music Video For "Learn To Walk Again"

BAD WOLVES Release The Retaliators-Themed Music Video For "Learn To Walk Again"

Bad Wolves have released the new music video for the song “Learn To Walk Again”, from The Retaliators movie soundtrack and the band’s 2019 album N.A.T.I.O.N.   The song is currently #12 on the Active Rock charts.

The video contains footage of the film, in which guitarist Doc Coyle is featured. The Retaliators is a high-octane horror-thriller in which a Pastor and father has to choose between turning the other cheek and taking bloody revenge.  It will reach theaters Spring 2021.

Vocalist Tommy Vext talks about “Learn To Walk Again”: “This song is about changing your life! All of us in the band and other people I am close to were going through a lot of changes when we wrote it. We had been going through these trials and tribulations over the last couple of years and the future was unknown. Sometimes you need to be brought to your knees and be willing to try anything to find your way to where you need to be. ‘Learn To Walk Again’ isn’t my story, it is OUR story.”

Bad Wolves is vocalist Tommy Vext (ex-Divine Heresy), drummer John Boecklin (ex-Devildriver), guitarist Doc Coyle (ex-God Forbid), guitarist Chris Cain (Bury Your Dead), and bassist Kyle Konkiel (ex-In This Moment). They released their debut album, Disobey in May 2018, via Better Noise Music, which reached #22 on the Billboard Top 200, #2 on the Hard Rock Chart, #4 on Rock, and #8 on the Top Current Albums Chart. In 2019, they continued that momentum with their sophomore album, N.A.T.I.O.N. The 12-track follow-up to their debut album, Disobey, is a bit of a departure – staying in the same realm musically, but breaking beyond. N.A.T.I.O.N. came in at #1 upon its release on the Top Hard Rock, Current Hard Rock and Billboard Hard Rock charts.

Their global breakout single, “Zombie,” is platinum in the US and Sweden, double platinum in Canada, gold in Australia and IMPALA Diamond in Europe. The track has topped charts worldwide, including the US iTunes overall and rock charts, Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Songs chart, Spotify’s Global Viral 50 chart, while also reigning atop the Active Rock radio chart for three straight weeks. The official music video for “Zombie,” a tribute to the late singer Dolores O’Riordan of The Cranberries and an homage to the original, has garnered over 255 million views across platforms. On June 19th, 2018, Bad Wolves presented a $250,000 check to Dolores O’Riordan’s four children, with a continued promise to donate all of their royalties from the song to them.

DRAGONY To Release Viribus Unitis Album In January; "Gods Of War" Music Video Streaming

DRAGONY To Release Viribus Unitis Album In January; "Gods Of War" Music Video Streaming

With united forces: Dragony unveil the truth and rewrite history!

Founded in 2007 and after releasing three studio records, Austrian symphonic power metal heroes Dragony return to their rock opera roots on their brand new album, Viribus Unitis, out January 15 via Napalm Records. Following up on the conceptual approach of their debut album, Legends, on the new album, the band unveils the true history of their home country. We return to the days when Austria was ruled by emperor Franz Joseph and his wife, empress Sisi - but forget everything you’ve heard and read so far.

Today the band has unleashed an energetic music video for their first single and album opener, “Gods Of War”, setting the stage for their imaginative historical concept to unfold.

Dragony about the track: “The first single 'Gods Of War' is also the opening track of the album, and sets the stage for the story that is to come: The year is 1867, and Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria is forced to accept the terms of the Austro-Hungarian Compromise after suffering losses in the Austro-Prussian War of 1866, effectively establishing the dual monarchy that became known as the "k. & k. Monarchy". In this situation, he is questioning whether his empire even has a future, or only its glorious past. The music for the song was co-written by Tommy Johansson from Sabaton & Majestica with his partner in Symphony Of Tragedy, Tomas Svedin, with the vocal lines and lyrics having been composed by our singer Siegfried. Musically, it's therefore a very "Scandinavian-sounding" song that adds another texture to the catalogue of Dragony, and we are already very much looking forward to playing this one live at future shows!“

Sabaton’s Tommy Johansson on “Gods Of War”: “What Dragony did to 'Gods Of War' is far beyond what I could have expected it to turn out when this song was written. How they play and sing this song is just glorious! It’s so powerful and you can sing along to the chorus right away. I’m happy and honored I got to be a part of Dragony, and the song suits well to the rest of this epic album!”

Get a first listen to this adventurous ride and watch the official music video for “Gods Of War“ below.

What really happened at the time of the last Habsburg ruler of Austria, his wife and their son, the troubled Archduke Rudolf, is revealed by the symphonic power metal six-piece on their fourth full-length, Viribus Unitis. Let’s clear the assumption that Rudolph died after trying to take his life at castle Mayerling in 1889. No way! Instead, after his mother Sisi is assassinated in 1898 in Switzerland, he subsequently gets in contact with dark powers which, driven by his desire to be with her again, make him turn to black magic and demonology. Now history takes its true course. There are not only zombies and cyberpunks lurking - Dragony also managed to prove further entanglements of well-known personalities you could never imagine...

For the exciting adventure cemented in their upcoming album, the Austrians around former Visions Of Atlantis singer Siegfried Samer are supported by well-known colleagues like Tommy Johansson, Tomas Svedin, Michele Guaitoli and Georg Neuhauser - just to name a selection. Mixing and mastering on Viribus Unitis was handled by Sebastian “Seeb” Levermann of Orden Ogan in his Greenman Studios in Germany.

Singer Siegfried Samer on the new album, Viribus Unitis: "Viribus Unitis marks both a return to our musical roots as well as a next step into the future for Dragony, as we are returning to a "rock opera concept" album similar to our debut Legends, but at the same time, we have evolved musically and are delivering what we consider our heaviest and most diverse album to date. And even though we are taking a bit of a creative approach with the source material, the concept story of the album is deeply intertwined with the history of Austria and in particular with the end of the Habsburg monarchy, which is often romanticized in Austria and ingrained in our collective consciousness. We are therefore thrilled to be able to release this very special album on an Austrian label, Napalm Records, and hope that both old and new fans of Dragony will enjoy the brand new songs!”

Could Dragony’s rewriting of history mark a new revelation of hidden truths previously shrouded in fantasy? Only Viribus Unitis tells all!

Viribus Unitis will be available in the following formats:

DARWIN - DEREK SHERINIAN Offers Insight Into "A Frozen War" Single; Video

DarWin released the new album, DarWin 2: A Frozen War, on November 6. In the new video below, Derek Sherinian gives insight into his performance on the single "A Frozen War", and gives his thoughts on the upcoming video and the project as a whole.

Once more DarWin has assembled a stunning ensemble of musicians. DarWin II: A Frozen War continues the core collaboration with Simon Phillips (drums, Toto/The Who/Jeff Beck), Matt Bissonette (Elton John, David Lee Roth, Ringo Starr) and DarWin. Joining them are powerhouse players Billy Sheehan (bass, Mr Big/ Steve Vai/Winery Dogs), Guthrie Govan (guitar, Aristocrats/Asia/Hans Zimmer/Steven Wilson), Greg Howe (guitar, Michael Jackson/Justin Timberlake), Derek Sherinian (keyboards, Dream Theater/Alice Cooper/Black Country Communion) and more.

DarWin 2: A Frozen War tracklisting:

"Nightmare Of My Dreams"
"Future History"
"Eternal Life"
"A Frozen War"
"Another Year"

"A Frozen War":

“Eternal Life” lyric video:

"Nightmare Of My Dreams" video:

The album is also available in spectacular Double Coloured Eco-Vinyl Gatefold LP with 30cm x 20cm poster. LP1 will be the standard album tracklisting, as above. LP2 features new interpretations of various songs from the first two albums, highlighting  the orchestral or unplugged performances of the earlier tracks.  They were all mixed and rearranged by mastermind Simon Phillips, and show a more delicate and emotional side to the DarWin recordings.

The full tracklisting for LP2 is as follows

Side A:
"Escape The Maze" (Orchestral)
"Nightmare Of My Dreams" (Orchestral)
"Slowly Melting" (Unplugged)
"Forever" (Orchestral)

Side B:
"One Horizon" (Unplugged)
"Rise" (Orchestral)
"Last Chance" (Orchestral)
"Another Year" (Acapella)

DarWin says. “We completed this album under extraordinary circumstances. The writing for the album continued as we wrapped Origin of Species in 2018, and our worlds were turned upside down by wildfires and viral pandemics. We’re grateful to the amazing group of musicians, artists and professionals who participated in this project. Almost no aspect of the creative process was “typical,” with team members spread out around the world, and often under lock down. We had our instruments, our technologies, and a passion for musical creativity. We hope that the emotion and resilience of this time period will come through these recordings.”

DarWin 2: A Frozen War was produced by DarWin and Simon Phillips and recorded primarily in Iceland and the US.

DarWin’s debut Origin Of Species was the first instalment in an epic saga that addresses the challenges of mankind in our coming era. It depicts the role of a changing planet, and the potential, as well as limitations, of technology to help solve mankind’s greatest challenges. A complex project that’s eschews the hollow immediacy of much contemporary art. A story that demands attention and imagination. With music sweeping in scope, at times evoking hard rock virtuoso shredding, alongside grand orchestral compositions, warm harmonies and soaring choruses. A project that is even more relevant in the strange times we live in.

While hailing from South America, the band’s sound is more akin to a different part of the globe, specifically the early years of the revered Göthenburg sound emanating from Sweden and popularized by bands like Dark Tranquility, Soilwork, In Flames, and the like.

Based in the city of Curitiba (coincidentally also the home of labelmates Semblant, Landfall, and Electric Mob), Sculptor was founded in 2015 by Rick Eraser (vocals) and Vinne (vocals/guitars), who was joined by Caco Ramos (bass), Fabricio Reis (guitars), and Mateus Schran (drums). The band debuted with the single "Oblivion,” which became a blueprint for the songs that would comprise their debut album, Untold Secrets.

"Untold Secrets is a very special album because the lyrics talk about our own secrets, because sometimes we are afraid to talk about how we feel, sometimes we want to give up on everything. But we need to fight and move on. When I wrote these songs I was battling depression and music helped me to overcome. I hope everybody who listens to these songs can talk about their own Untold Secrets," says frontman Rick Eraser.

Untold Secrets was recorded at the band's studio in Curitiba, produced by Rick and Vinne, and mixed by Linus Corneliusson at Fascination Street Studios located, appropriately enough, in Sweden.

“The name "Sculptor" means that we are the sculptors of our lives, we can shape them and transform them into what we want. The lyrics also address this subject and how everything we do impacts our world,” says the band.

Untold Secrets showcases the complex influences the musicians acquired through their previous musical projects. For the uninitiated, once again, the band's style can be described as musically akin to early era albums from Dark Tranquillity, In Flames, Soilwork, and Tiamat.

For melodic death metal fans and metal fans in general, Sculptor are a band to keep an eye on.
