DarWin says. “We completed this album under extraordinary circumstances. The writing for the album continued as we wrapped Origin of Species in 2018, and our worlds were turned upside down by wildfires and viral pandemics. We’re grateful to the amazing group of musicians, artists and professionals who participated in this project. Almost no aspect of the creative process was “typical,” with team members spread out around the world, and often under lock down. We had our instruments, our technologies, and a passion for musical creativity. We hope that the emotion and resilience of this time period will come through these recordings.”
DarWin 2: A Frozen War was produced by DarWin and Simon Phillips and recorded primarily in Iceland and the US.
DarWin’s debut Origin Of Species was the first instalment in an epic saga that addresses the challenges of mankind in our coming era. It depicts the role of a changing planet, and the potential, as well as limitations, of technology to help solve mankind’s greatest challenges. A complex project that’s eschews the hollow immediacy of much contemporary art. A story that demands attention and imagination. With music sweeping in scope, at times evoking hard rock virtuoso shredding, alongside grand orchestral compositions, warm harmonies and soaring choruses. A project that is even more relevant in the strange times we live in.

SCULPTOR Release New Song "Untouchable Truth"; Audio StreamingBrazil-based melodic death metal band, Sculptor, are streaming the new song, "Untouchable Truth", from their upcoming album Untold Secrets, out on December 4 via Frontiers Music Srl. Listen to the track below, and pre-order/save Untold Secrets here.
While hailing from South America, the band’s sound is more akin to a different part of the globe, specifically the early years of the revered Göthenburg sound emanating from Sweden and popularized by bands like Dark Tranquility, Soilwork, In Flames, and the like.
Based in the city of Curitiba (coincidentally also the home of labelmates Semblant, Landfall, and Electric Mob), Sculptor was founded in 2015 by Rick Eraser (vocals) and Vinne (vocals/guitars), who was joined by Caco Ramos (bass), Fabricio Reis (guitars), and Mateus Schran (drums). The band debuted with the single "Oblivion,” which became a blueprint for the songs that would comprise their debut album, Untold Secrets.
"Untold Secrets is a very special album because the lyrics talk about our own secrets, because sometimes we are afraid to talk about how we feel, sometimes we want to give up on everything. But we need to fight and move on. When I wrote these songs I was battling depression and music helped me to overcome. I hope everybody who listens to these songs can talk about their own Untold Secrets," says frontman Rick Eraser.
Untold Secrets was recorded at the band's studio in Curitiba, produced by Rick and Vinne, and mixed by Linus Corneliusson at Fascination Street Studios located, appropriately enough, in Sweden.
“The name "Sculptor" means that we are the sculptors of our lives, we can shape them and transform them into what we want. The lyrics also address this subject and how everything we do impacts our world,” says the band.
Untold Secrets showcases the complex influences the musicians acquired through their previous musical projects. For the uninitiated, once again, the band's style can be described as musically akin to early era albums from Dark Tranquillity, In Flames, Soilwork, and Tiamat.
For melodic death metal fans and metal fans in general, Sculptor are a band to keep an eye on.
Tracklisting:
"Interlude"
"No Control"

JUDAS PRIEST's ROB HALFORD: 'I Still Get Bullied Occasionally On The Internet'In a new interview with Tom Power, host of "Q" on Canada's CBC Radio One, JUDAS PRIEST frontman Rob Halford was asked if he wants to — as he says in his recently released autiobiography "Confess" — continue "screaming his tits off forever." He responded (hear audio below): "Yes. [Laughs] Being the stately homo of heavy metal, I'm allowed to say that I can do anything now. Everything bounces off me. I still get bullied occasionally on the Internet, social media. That's just the way it is."
Asked if he reads any of the comments from his online haters, Rob, who became the first metal icon to announce he is gay in 1998 during an MTV interview, said: "Yeah, I do, because it's important that I do, because that way I know that there are still those kinds of people out there. And I embrace them. I don't push 'em away; I embrace them. I say, 'Let's talk about why you feel that way.'
"You have to have empathy," he explained. "You can't put up walls. You can't suppress. You have to be open, you have to be ready to talk, no matter how difficult it is, because that can help. And if you can help somebody, that's a good thing to do."
"Confess" arrived on September 29 via Hachette Books. Written with Ian Gittins, co-writer of "The Heroin Diaries" by Nikki Sixx, the book charts Halford's rock and roll lifestyle from the late eighties to the band's 50th anniversary in 2020.
In September, JUDAS PRIEST and Rufus Publications announced the publication of the first-ever official JUDAS PRIEST book documenting the band's extensive history over the last 50 years. Titled "Judas Priest - 50 Heavy Metal Years", the book has been put together by David Silver, Ross Halfin and Jayne Andrews.
Prior to being canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, JUDAS PRIEST's spring/summer 2020 European tour was scheduled to kick off on May 30 in Helsinki, Finland and conclude on July 28 in Tilburg, the Netherlands. The band was also slated to headline the U.K.'s Bloodstock Open Air festival on August 9 at Catton Park, Derbyshire.
The U.S. leg of PRIEST's "50 Heavy Metal Years" tour was due to launch September 9 in Oxon Hill, Maryland and wrap up on October 17 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Halford is not the first member of PRIEST's classic lineup to release a book. Former JUDAS PRIEST guitarist K.K. Downing released his autobiography, "Heavy Duty: Days And Nights In Judas Priest", in September 2018 via Da Capo Press.
In 2009, original JUDAS PRIEST singer Al Atkins released his autobiography, titled "Dawn Of The Metal Gods: My Life In Judas Priest And Heavy Metal". JUDAS PRIEST bassist Ian Hill penned the foreword to the book, which was written with Neil Daniels — a freelance rock writer and heavy metal fan who befriended Atkins during the writing of Neil's book "The Story Of Judas Priest: Defenders Of The Faith" (Omnibus Press). 15

JACK RUSSELL Undergoes Hip Replacement Surgery: 'I Feel Like I'm 20 Years Old'Former GREAT WHITE and current JACK RUSSELL'S GREAT WHITE frontman Jack Russell has told Meltdown of Detroit's WRIF radio station in a new interview that he underwent a major surgery about two weeks ago. "I just had my left hip replaced, which I've been needing for years," he said. "And it's just great. I'm a whole new man. I feel like I'm 20 years old. I wish I would have done it 10 years ago, when they told me I should have. I just kept putting it off and putting it off. 'What if it doesn't work? What if it makes it worse? What if? What if? What if?' And I finally said the pain was just too outrageous. I said, 'All right. You're gonna get rid of the pain?' And they go, 'Yeah, cool. We were telling you that.' I go, 'Okay. Do it.' And I came out, and I was, like, 'Wow!' My back doesn't hurt, my leg doesn't hurt. It's incredible. I was up walking the first day. I mean, I'm not walking perfect — it's gonna take a little bit — but it's not like I don't have time on my hands right now.
"I feel great," he continued. "I feel fantastic. There's no pain whatsoever. They found a piece of bone about as big as half a baseball floating around in my leg, in my thigh — just inside of my thigh muscle, just floating around. It was from when I shattered my femur, like growing a bone spur, and then broke it off. So it was just kind of like cruising around through the muscles. That's where a lot of the pain was coming from. I'm, like, 'What the hell? Really?' I mean, the body can do some pretty weird things, man — especially mine."
Russell also confirmed that he celebrated the fifth anniversary of his getting sober in September.
"It's going great," he said. "I should have had a lot more time [sober], but I [fell off the wagon] again. I had eight years at one point, I had another two and a half years at one point. But the point is right now, the good thing is I'm sober. Hell, I even quit smoking cigarettes. And that was a coup — that was a major coup. That in and of itself is a real big deal. It was the hardest thing I've ever done. Any drug, anything, there's nothing been harder than doing that. 'Cause you can always go, 'Oh, I'll just stop tomorrow.' That was my big thing. 'Yeah, just tomorrow. I'll just have a couple today and then I'll quit tomorrow.' And then when I found out I had COPD [chronic obstructive pulmonary disease], I was, like, 'Oh. Okay, well, I think it's time to quit now.'"
Jack, who has been living on a 45-foot boat in Redondo Beach, California for nearly a decade, also revealed that he and his wife will be moving to Colorado in a few days.
"I've gotta spend some time with my wife's son," he explained. "She's been out here for 11 years with me, dealing with my stuff. And it's only fair. He's a great kid, and he needs to spend some time with his mom, and me. I need somebody to hang out with that's my own age… And I can always come back. That's the thing. Who knows what's gonna happen? We can always come back. It all depends on what he's gonna do. He may wanna go to college out here. He's 15 right now, so he's got ways to go. And, like I said, he's somebody I can hang out with that's my own age. So it's a great thing. We have a blast together. He's a great kid."
Russell exited GREAT WHITE in December 2011 after he was unable to tour with the group due a series of injuries, including a perforated bowel and a shattered pelvis. Jack largely blamed these injuries on his alcohol and painkiller addictions as well as the prednisone drug he was prescribed.
Russell sued his onetime bandmates in 2012 over their continued use of the GREAT WHITE name after Jack had taken a leave of absence from the band for medical reasons. A short time later, Russell was countersued by guitarist Mark Kendall, rhythm guitarist/keyboardist Michael Lardie and drummer Audie Desbrow, claiming the vocalist's self-destructive behavior was damaging the GREAT WHITE name (they also alleged he was charging promoters less for his own touring version of GREAT WHITE). The parties settled in July 2013 without going to trial, with Russell now performing as JACK RUSSELL'S GREAT WHITE while the others are continuing as GREAT WHITE.
More than two years ago, GREAT WHITE announced the addition of new singer Mitch Malloy to the group's ranks. He replaced Terry Ilous, who was fired from the band in July 2018.

New WINGER Album Will Be 'Heavy', 'Progressive' And 'Poppy', Says REB BEACHIn a new interview with the "Pat's Soundbytes Unplugged" podcast, WINGER guitarist Reb Beach spoke about the progress of the songwriting sessions for the band's new studio album. The disc will be the follow-up to "Better Days Comin'", which came out in 2014.
"The WINGER [writing process] is just going swimmingly," Reb said (hear audio below). "Honestly, it's really, really good. The new WINGER album, I like it better than 'Better Days Comin'' already.
"We've written 11 songs, but Kip [Winger, WINGER frontman] threw away six of 'em, saying that this has to be like the first BOSTON record where every song is undeniable. And he just wants it to be progressive and like nothing he's hard before. I brought him these riffs that are just straight-ahead rock riffs, and he said, 'I already know what the next three chords are gonna be after I've heard three chords.'
"We're going for something that's poppy and sing-along stuff yet cool, heavy, progressive riffs — kind of like [2009's] 'Karma'," Reb added. "That's what we're going for."
As for a possible release date for the new WINGER album, Reb said: "That should be out in May. I'm flying back on [November] 14th to finish that. And May is what we're shooting for. We have gigs in May with WINGER, and let's hope for a [COVID-19] vaccine so that those will happen and the record comes out. I'm very excited about WINGER next year."
This past spring, WINGER invited artists, friends and fans — including Alice Cooper and members of SCORPIONS, STEELHEART and WARRANT — to sing along to "Better Days Comin'", the title track of the band's sixth studio album. An official music video for the new version of the song was made available in late April.
WINGER formed in the late 1980s and soared to immediate success with its 1988 self-titled release. The album spawned the hit singles "Seventeen" and "Headed For A Heartbreak" and achieved platinum sales status. "Winger" also stayed on The Billboard 200 chart for over 60 weeks where it peaked at #21. Their next album, "In The Heart Of The Young", also achieved platinum status behind the singles "Can't Get Enuff" and "Miles Away". The change in musical climate of the mid-'90s, compounded with unprovoked ridicule on MTV's popular "Beavis And Butt-Head" show, led the band to go on hiatus in 1994. In 2001, WINGER reunited and has not looked back since. Kip also earned a 2016 Grammy nomination for the classical album "C.F. Kip Winger: Conversations With Nijinsky", recorded with the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra.

HALESTORM's LZZY HALE: 'We Have A Chance For Peace, A Chance For Progress, A Chance To Make Real Change'Lzzy Hale says that "we have a chance for peace" and "progress" now that Joe Biden is the projected winner of the 2020 presidential election.
The HALESTORM frontwoman made her comments hours after it was announced that Biden surpassed the 270 Electoral College votes needed to defeat Donald Trump.
On Saturday, Hale took to her Instagram and wrote the following message: "In the immortal words of TWISTED SISTER 'We're not gonna take it anymore'
"What a beautiful display of humanity.
"Hope over Fear
Love over Hate
The Happy Tears
The Honking of Horns out in the street.
"We The People showed up, and fought for our rights. Today we begin again with new eyes and new hearts.
"We have been to the bottom of the snake pit. We watched the ugliness of the world reveal itself. Now, we have a chance for peace, a chance for progress, a chance to make real change. So the fight is not over...
"It's going to take All of us to make this country and this world into what it should've always been. For too long we've been plagued by evil over petty differences and pretty lies. No more. The past is there as a lesson.
"We will learn from our History, fight for Now and keep our eyes forward toward the Future. We will continue to battle on the side of love, hope, equality and unity using the universal language of music and art, and begin the healing process. Let's make this world more like the Rock Show.
"The Rock Show doesn't care what gender you are, what skin color you have, your sexual orientation, what you do for a living, where you live, how you dress, your handicap, your failures or your achievements...We are All the same at the Rock Show! United as One! We're in this together like Lipstick and Leather. I love you all.
"Dio Bless America".
Late last month, Lzzy urged her fans to vote for Biden in this year's presidential election, saying it was time to "vote against idiocracy."
About a month before the 2016 U.S. presidential election, Lzzy said that she was "into equality" and insisted that she couldn't "out of good conscience" vote for anybody who built his or her empire on "division and hate and inequality."
Although she initially said that she was a Bernie Sanders supporter, Lzzy later expressed concern that he would "die the first year in office" if he got into the White House. Hale went on to say that she would "definitely not" vote for Donald Trump, explaining that she has "just never been a fan."

SLASH FEATURING MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORS Are Working On New MaterialMyles Kennedy has confirmed that SLASH FEATURING MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORS are putting together ideas for a new album. The effort will be the follow-up to "Living The Dream", which came out in September 2018 via Slash's own label Snakepit Records, in partnership with Roadrunner Records. The disc was Slash's fourth solo album, and third with Slash and his CONSPIRATORS bandmates Kennedy, Todd Kerns (bass, vocals), Brent Fitz (drums) and Frank Sidoris (guitar and vocals).
In a new interview with Consequence Of Sound, Myles said about SLASH FEATURING MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORS: "[We've been] working on new material off and on for years, really. I mean, since we did the last run, which was — geez, how long has it been now? I don't even remember. Everything is just kind of running together! [Laughs] But, there's always new ideas starting to bloom. Due to the state of things, as far as getting that material out, we're just going to have to wait and see. But there are always ideas in the pipeline."
Kerns recently said that SLASH FEATURING MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORS will release a new LP in 2021, although he offered no further details.
In September 2019, SLASH FEATURING MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORS released "Living The Dream Tour" on DVD+2CD, Blu-ray+2 CD, 3LP black vinyl, limited-edition 3LP red vinyl, digital video and digital audio via Eagle Vision. The set was shot on location on February 20, 2019 at London, England's Eventim Apollo.
In November 2019, Slash told "The Marshall Podcast" that the road was "the only place" he and THE CONSPIRATORS "really do get a chance to work" on new music. "If we're doing theaters and arenas and all that kind of stuff, we have our soundchecks, so I work on that stuff during that time," he said. "Because that's when I do all the writing — during the road trip. So when the tour is over, at some point, we all get together and we revisit all that material that we worked on while we were on the road. Which is actually what all the records we've done so far are a culmination of."
Complicating the creative process is the fact that Myles Kennedy and THE CONSPIRATORS don't live in the same town as Slash. "Myles is in Washington state, and I'm in L.A. and the rest of the guys are in [Las] Vegas," Slash explained. "So I fly everybody to L.A. and we'll stay there and we'll do pre-production and go in and do a record. But now that GUNS N' ROSES has become a thing, I have to do that. But I will have accumulated enough material out [out on the road] that when the time comes to work on CONSPIRATORS stuff, I already have the material."
Speaking in more detail about how songs come together with THE CONSPIRATORS, Slash said: "We write the whole time. I write the music ideas, and then I'll bring it into a soundcheck situation. For me, the most important thing is the drums. So I'll start working on an idea with Brent, as well as Todd, and even Frank — we'll all stand there together and do it. And then just see if it catches, if it's a cool idea with all the other instruments involved. That's the thing about guitar players — you write bitchin' guitar stuff all day long, but is it a song? So we start working it up. And then Myles will be there and he'll catch it and maybe start recording something into his phone. And we'll just sort of get the nucleus of an idea, and in some cases work on it for a few days until we have an arrangement. And then there's some stuff that we didn't ever get to play in soundcheck that I recorded on my phone in my room and I'll bring that up later."

GODSMACK Side Project THE APOCALYPSE BLUES REVIVAL Releases New Single 'The Doorway'THE APOCALYPSE BLUES REVIVAL, the Florida-based psychedelic rock side project of GODSMACK drummer Shannon Larkin and guitarist Tony Rombola, will release its self-titled album on December 11. The official music video for the disc's second single, "The Doorway", can be seen below.
The nine-track album loosely follows an autobiographical narrative centered around a protagonist on the left-hand path, embracing dark magic rituals that begins on "Waltz Of The Antichrist/Impure", and later changes his ways to ascension concluding with the seven minute-plus track, "A Gecko (Part 2) - The Endless Possibility Of Water (666 Reprise)" that stretches towards a fiery musical catharsis.
Larkin stated: "When you listen to the album, I'd love it if you actually took a trip with us through this dark abyss and came out of it 45 minutes later with a new perspective."
THE APOCALYPSE BLUES REVIVAL sinks into the sweet spot between devilish Delta blues, hard-hitting rock, and inter-dimensional psychedelia. The eclectic array of genres offers opposites of light and dark through musical expression, with tribal percussion echoes alongside a thick bass line during "The Abomination Of Desolation", and a wild wah pedal and slick rhythm on "The Doorway".
"The Apocalypse Blues Revival" track listing:
01. Waltz Of The Antichrist/Impure
02. The Abomination Of Desolation
03. Can't Shake The Blues
04. No One Will Miss Me
05. The Doorway
06. Written In To The World
07. Optimystic
08. Enjoy The Ride
09. A Gecko (Part 2) – The Endless Possibility Of Water (666 Reprise)
THE APOCALYPSE BLUES REVIVAL materialized in 2020. For nearly a decade, Larkin and Rombola threw down at biker bars, blues haunts, and dyed-in-the-wool venues around the country in an RV with bassist Brian Carpenter. "Tony and I are in our fifties now, and we got to rough it," he laughs. "We felt like real blues guys!"
Under the name of THE APOCALYPSE BLUES REVUE originally, they churned out two albums, "The Apocalypse Blues Revue" (2016) and "The Shape Of Blues To Come" (2018), that generated nearly one million total streams. During late 2019, Shannon welcomed lifelong friend and lead singer, Shane Hall into the fold. A few years ago, Shane held down vocals in a wild funk outfit alongside Shannon and Tony, sparking a flame fanned to its fullest potential in THE APOCALYPSE BLUES REVIVAL.
The quartet casted an unbreakable spell on their new self-titled independent full-length debut. For Shannon, this idea of the new album initially blossomed on a tour bus during a freezing January in Europe. Slowly but surely, the songs came to life in order, sketched out on hotel notepads and written wherever possible. Processing the loss of his sister, he translated this pain into the story.
"It's a completely different band," affirms Shannon. "We've shifted into more of a psychedelic rock sound. My big vision was to simply mix the influences from my two favorite classic rock artists — David Bowie and PINK FLOYD — with my favorite blues artists: Johnny Winter, Stevie Ray Vaughan and B.B. King. The foundation is always blues. That's how I approach the drums, but we're veering off into more eclectic areas and rock. As the guy who writes the lyrics and melodies, I'm limited to my singer. Shane has taken all of those limitations away. He's such an extension of me that it's no wonder we've been best friends for twenty years."

CHUCK BERRY Documentary 'The Original King Of Rock 'N' Roll' To Receive Blu-Ray ReleaseFollowing a festival run and special drive-in events across the country, the official Chuck Berry documentary "Chuck Berry: The Original King Of Rock 'N' Roll" is finally available on VOD platforms and is set for release on Blu-ray on November 27.
John Lennon famously said, "If you tried to give rock and roll another name, you might call it 'Chuck Berry.'" The first-ever Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee crossed the mid-'50s racial divide armed with nothing more than his guitar, business savvy and well-crafted songs such as "Maybellene", "Roll Over Beethoven", "Little Queenie", "Rock And Roll Music" and "Johnny B. Goode".
"Chuck Berry: The Original King Of Rock 'N' Roll" is the first-ever feature length documentary devoted to the life of singer/songwriter/guitarist widely considered the "Granddaddy Of Rock And Roll". Award-winning filmmaker Jon Brewer ("BB King: The Life Of Riley"; "Nat King Cole: Afraid Of The Dark") melds archival performance footage and ruminations on Berry's influence from other music greats (Keith Richards, Nils Lofgren, Steve Van Zandt, Joe Perry and Alice Cooper, among them) with an exploration of the legendary guitarist's personal life (including the first-ever interview with Themetta "Toddy" Suggs, his wife of 68 years) and experience as a black artist traversing the American racial landscape of the 1950s onward.
Despite his iconic status, and reverence for his talent by rock's heroes John Lennon, Bruce Springsteen, Keith Richards, Steve Van Zandt, Joe Perry, Alice Cooper, all featured, Chuck Berry was at heart, a family man. He was a prolific craftsman of words and chords; an undisputed and stunning combination of talent and charisma.
"Chuck Berry: The Original King Of Rock 'N' Roll" features additional appearances by George Thorogood, Joe Bonamassa, Gene Simmons and Charles Berry Jr.
Simmons said: "Chuck Berry was Chuck Berry. The definition of Chuck Berry is Chuck Berry."
This eye-opening film was produced in cooperation with Chuck Berry's estate.

W.A.S.P.'s BLACKIE LAWLESS Pays Tribute To KEN HENSLEY: 'He Just Loved To Laugh And Have A Good Time'W.A.S.P. leader Blackie Lawless has paid tribute to Ken Hensley, former URIAH HEEP vocalist songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, who died peacefully on November 4 following a very short illness. He was 75 years old.
On Friday night (November 6), Lawless took to W.A.S.P.'s social media to write: "I was 17 the first time I heard a URIAH HEEP's 'Salisbury'. The songs were great, the vocals were killer, but there was something about those keyboards. It was a grinding noise I'd never heard before. There were other bands using Hammond B-3 organs… but not like this band. Years later I'd find out why.
"It was Spring of '88 when I met Ken Hensley for the first time. There had been few musicians in my life I'd had revered as much. Here was the man that wrote 'Easy Living' and was the creator of 'That Sound'. I wasn't sure what to expect on that first meeting. Many times when people meet their idols, it can be disappointing. To my surprise and relief, he could not have been cooler! He immediately put me at ease and the thing that really struck me about him was his sense of humor. He just loved to laugh and have a good time. What we call: 'just one of the guys'. So much so, that it would be months until it finally hit me just 'who' he was.
"We had been in rehearsals for weeks for what would later become the 'Headless Children' album, when one day I walked in the studio. Everybody was already there. The Band were on stage playing, the crew were moving cases around and sorting out the gear. When I walked in the area where the door was it was darkened, so I could see all of them, but they couldn't see me. I stood there and just listened for what seemed like forever. We had been playing around with the idea of doing THE WHO song 'The Real Me', but had not tried it yet. When I got there, they already had the song worked up and were playing it. I stood there, and the absolute ferociousness of the roar that was coming off the stage was stunning. Holmes on guitar, Johnny Rod on bass, Frankie Banali on drums and Ken Hensley on Hammond B-3. It's impossible for me to over exaggerate the power and intensity that was coming off of that stage. The crew didn't even notice me because they had stopped working, and were watching and witnessing this "monster song" being born. When you're a kid, you fantasize a lot about being in some band you had seen on TV or from some record you had bought. I was standing there thinking: 'I’m 15 again and this is that band I fantasized about'. Honestly, the second thought I had was: 'they don't even need me, this is one of the greatest bands in the world!'
"It was Ken that helped us get to that next level. His experience and instinct for what was right was amazing. I said earlier: 'years later I'd find out why'. I don't know if most people will ever be able to experience what happens when you have a chance to work with someone you've admired for so long, and then you have a chance to get comfortable with them. Then it happens, that moment where you remember who this person really is and you find yourself thinking: 'holy cow, this is that guy'!.
"About 2 months after we had been working together, Ken and I were driving down the street. Somehow we got on the subject of complaining about how hard some records are to make, and the torture they put you through. I was moaning about some record we had done and Ken said: 'yeah, I know what you mean. We were making this record called 'Demons And Wizards' and…' I didn't hear a word he said after that! I was sitting right next to THAT GUY!!!! I just sat there… totally stunned.
"He was not trying to impress me, he was just talking. He might not have been trying to impress me, but he failed miserably!
"I never told him this story. I was too embarrassed to tell him.
"The next time you hear the song 'Forever Free' take a good listen to the ending. That's Ken and his glorious Hammond B-3 playing us out.
"Farewell Mate… High in the Wind… Forever Free."
Hensley was one of the most important musicians of the past half a century. His work with URIAH HEEP in the 1970s helped to make the band hugely influential. He also collaborated with bands such as BLACKFOOT, W.A.S.P. and CINDERELLA, as well as building a very successful solo career. As a writer, he was responsible for such classics as "Lady In Black", "Easy Livin'", "July Morning" and "Look At Yourself".
A very spiritual person, Hensley became an inspiration to many and known for encouraging talented artists.
Ken had recently finished work on a new project, "My Book Of Answers", which is due for release end of February 2021.
He leaves behind a wife, Monica, and two brothers Trevor, Mark and sister Dawn, and his close friend and manager Steve Weltman.
Ken Hensley Passing –
I was 17 the first time I heard a Uriah Heep's "Salisbury". The songs were great, the vocals...

SLIPKNOT Is Working On New Music: 'There's No Pressure,' Says CLOWNSLIPKNOT has been using some of the downtime during the coronavirus pandemic to work on material for the follow-up to last year's "We Are Not Your Kind" album.
SLIPKNOT percussionist M. Shawn "Clown" Crahan discussed the band's current activities during a bottle-signing session for SLIPKNOT's No. 9 Iowa Whiskey which premiered on the band's YouTube channel earlier today.
He said (see video below): "Right now is kind of an interesting time. We're taking this time to write some new music. So for the last week, we've been just having a good time, eating a lot of food and writing God music. So we're having a good time.
"Since everybody's taken a lot of time off, we thought we'd utilize it by getting together and do what we probably do best, which is write music," he explained. "So it's been good, because there's no pressure. It's not like we have to. We're doing it 'cause we want to. And it's just been a blessing, because boredom can set in. And I know all of us in the world are going crazy, so we're really lucky to be able to be together and do what we love most."
Asked if he thinks the coronavirus crisis will influence the lyrical themes covered on the next SLIPKNOT album, Crahan said: "We don't usually speak for [SLIPKNOT frontman] Corey [Taylor], or whatever, but I can imagine that anything that affects him and affects us and affects you will be included. To the extent, I don't know how blatant it will be, I don't know, but we are all living this, and everybody's involved. I wouldn't really know what what road [Corey] is gonna be going down or information that he wants to spread. I'm not sure. We're not quite there yet."
"We Are Not Your Kind" came out in August 2019. The disc sold 118,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in its first week of release to land at position No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Furthermore, the album made an impact worldwide with No. 1 debuts in the United Kingdom, Mexico, Australia, Canada, Japan, Ireland, Belgium, Portugal and Finland, as well as Top 5 debuts in Germany, France, Norway, Italy, Austria, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Poland, Spain and New Zealand.
"We Are Not Your Kind"'s sales in the U.S. were boosted by a concert ticket/album sale redemption offer with SLIPKNOT's summer 2019 tour. 3

NEAL MORSE Releases "The Madman Of The Gadarenes" Live Video From Upcoming Jesus Christ The Exorcist (Live At Morsefest 2018)Acclaimed prog rocker, Neal Morse, returns with a new live set, Jesus Christ The Exorcist (Live At Morsefest 2018), on December 4. As the title suggests, this new live album and DVD/Blu-ray was captured at the annual Morsefest in 2018, where Neal and band performed his then new album, Jesus Christ The Exorcist, in its entirety.
Watch a performance of "The Madman Of The Gadarenes" from the set below, and pre-order/save Jesus Christ The Exorcist (Live At Morsefest 2018) here.
“Performing Jesus Christ the Exorcist with this extraordinary cast of singers and musicians was an absolute dream come true for me as a composer and musician. The way it came together was nothing short of miraculous! One of the greatest events of my life," says Morse of the performance.
This unique live album presents the entire Jesus Christ The Exorcist story set as a progressive rock musical. Here, the biggest change from any typical Neal Morse performance was that he was the musical director and not the main performer. The backing band included some of his usual collaborators like Bill Hubauer and Randy George, of course. Eric Gillette, usually the guitarist, was the drummer for the musical and showed off his incredible skills while Paul Bielatowicz was on lead guitar for the show. The orchestra included a horn section, a choir, backing singers, and a string quartet. The staging and lighting was nothing short of impressive, with the visuals by Christian Rios and sound by Jerry Guidroz (Sons of Apollo, Neal Morse Band, Haken) taking things to the next level.
The lead role of Jesus was taken by Ted Leonard of Enchant and Spock’s Beard. Leonard’s voice is one of the best in rock music and he sounded stellar throughout the night. Joining Leonard was a fantastic collection of singers that included Nick D’Virgilio (Spock's Beard, Big Big Train) along with Jake Livgren (Protokaw), Matt Smith (Theocracy), John Schlitt (Petra), Rick Florian (White Heart), Mark Pogue, and Wil Morse. However, perhaps the one that stole the show was newcomer Talon David, a local Nashville singer who took the role of Mary Magdalene. She has an incredible voice and brought many to tears during the finale duet with Ted Leonard. A highlight moment during the show was in the first act with the song “Madman Of The Gadarenes,” where Morse introduced his Gentle Giant influenced vocal medley with multiple vocalists all singing different lines in unison.
Whether or not an audience member knows or appreciates the subject matter might influence their opinion on the show, but it is impossible not to be impressed by the spectacle of this performance. What Neal Morse was able to write and produce with limited time and rehearsals is nothing short of amazing. The music is the definition of epic prog and certainly will delight any Morse fan.

MANTICORA Debut Lyric Video For "Katana - Death Of The Meaning Of Life"Manticora, the Danish prog-thrash veterans, have released the second single/video from their ninth album, To Live To Kill To Live, the follow-up and second part of a huge concept, to 2018's To Kill To Live To Kill - both albums, based on the 334-page horror/thriller novel that lead singer Lars F. Larsen wrote (also released in 2018).
The album has been very well received by the press, to a degree that Manticora have never in their 20+ career received such appraisal from an almost united press-core, so the band felt that a secnd video offering would be appropriate.
This semi-lyrical video for the song "Katana - Death Of The Meaning Of Life" - a song, with a very strong Nevermore-ish feel to it, is vividly composed and produced by the talented Chilean video producer Federico Bossinga from the company Abstract Chaos. The story of the song is again a very sad, bordering on despair-inducing, tale which the band is delving deep into at several occasions on the last 2 albums, making up the huge concept.
Bass player, Kasper Gram, explains the story: "Since this song deals with the story in which a young Dutch sailor - situated in Hong Kong, 1921, at the time when the story takes place - is falling in love with a local prostitute and looking at what he calls the love of his life, getting brutally murdered by local thugs, we wanted to express ourselves in colours that match the story. The light blue colours, resembling the room in which most of the story takes place, the dark red, resembling the extreme amount of blood, present in the story, when several people are killed in violent ways (by means of either gun or Katana. Federico was fed the lyrics, the story and all our ideas and impressions of this sad story and he has splendidly matched the storyline with the colours and imagery."
The music on both albums was recorded partially in the band's own studio and recorded / mixed in Hansen Studios, with producer, Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Destruction) who also produced the first two Manticora albums back in the last millenium.

DEATH DEALER Debut "Every Nation" Lyric VideoDeath Dealer, lead by Ross The Boss, has issued a new lyric video for "Every Nation", as a preview of their forthcoming third record, Conquered Lands, to be released worldwide on November 13 via Steel Cartel. Watch below.
Death Dealer has an all-star heavy metal roster featuring the aforementioned Ross The Boss (ex-Manowar) Sean Peck (vocals - Cage, The Three Tremors, Denner/Shermann), Stu Marshall (guitar - Dungeon, Night Legion), Steve Bolognese (drums - Ross The Boss Band, Into Eternity), and newly added bass player extraordinaire Mike Lepond (Symphony X, Ross The Boss Band).
It is almost like Death Dealer could see the future when they wrote this song 4 years ago, as “Every Nation” asks the question, "What would the world be like if everyone was a metal head?" And the answer is found within this inspiring song and music video. It is times like these that we need to come together and the spirit of heavy metal can do just that.
Sean: "It is kind of weird that I wrote these lyrics 4 years ago and the video was scheduled to come out now in the middle of a turbulent time of division. The song represents how I feel that the metal community that it is an evolved society compared to others. If I see someone with an Iron Maiden shirt on at the store I say hey what is up and throw them the horns. I do not care about any of the things that could divide us. I just know we are both metal loving maniacs and that is the number one thing for me. People say it is a lifestyle off the cuff but it really is."
Ross: "The song is really rocking and has a strong message too. Music is a uniter and the video captured the concept perfectly. This whole album is filled with great songs like this one I am really proud of it. So support heavy metal and pick it up!"
Stu: "I was hoping this track would get picked as one of the songs to do a video for. I always liked how it came together when Sean and I wrote it. This track is one I am sure we will be working into the live set in the future."
Mike: "Sean and Stu let me be as creative as I wanted on the album. They just set me loose and trusted me 100%. This style of metal is right up my alley. It's where my playing is at its best. The level of talent in this band is off the charts. These guys push me to the edge and I love it."
Pre-order Conquered Lands here.
The album was mixed by Stu Marshall, and guitars, drums, and bass were treated at Monolith Studios in Melbourne Australia by Chris Themelco. The album was mastered by Maor Appelbaum in Los Angeles, California. Stu Marshall talked about the mixing and mastering partners he engaged.

HELSOTT Releases "Helsott" Lyric VideoAmerican pagan metal band, Helsott, have unveiled a new lyric video for the song “Helsott”. The track appears on their debut full-length, Woven, which will be reissued this Friday (November 13) via M-Theory Audio in celebration of the group's 10th anniversary. The video - designed by Raf Ortega of Ecliptic Visions - can be seen below.
Says vocalist Eric Dow, “The song ‘Helsott’ embodies the essence of death knocking on your door. With all of the death that we have seen in 2020, it seems like the perfect time to reissue it with a lyric video. The song both aggressively and beautifully articulates the experience of death. Some die alone, others with loved ones by their side, and some are even self-sacrificing. This song ambitiously confronts the inevitable fate we all share.”
Originally released in 2014, Woven has been newly remixed and remastered by J-F Dagenais (Kataklysm, Misery Index), and features striking fantasy artwork by Felipe Machado Franco (Iced Earth, Blind Guardian).
A limited-edition, 180-gram white wax pressing of 200 hand-numbered copies will mark the album's first-ever vinyl release. The CD, meanwhile, will include the band’s 2012 debut EP Fólkvangr - which has also been remixed and remastered by Dagenais - as bonus tracks.
Both formats of Woven are available now for pre-order here.
Since their formation, the California-based Helsott – whose name means “fatal illness” in Old Norse – has paid homage to pagan cultures and mythologies while keeping true to their American influences. The group's unique mix of folk metal, death metal, symphonic metal, thrash, classical and rock first caught the attention of audiences on a large scale during the 2013 Paganfest North American tour, where they performed with Ensiferum, Tyr and Trollfest. That tour set the stage for the 2014 release of Woven, which was supported with tours alongside Arkona and Heidevolk.
"Woven sonically reveals our lives at the time – the ups and downs, thrills and chills,” says drummer Cooper Dustman of the band's formative work. “A dance between beauty and brutality make this a true staple to a sound that represents our journey in metal music."
While the original songs contained on Woven were powerful musical statements in their own rights, the newly remixed and remastered version of the record breathes new life and reinvigorated strength into the band's already-stellar work.
"Woven is a collection of songs written during a dark time in my life,” says guitarist Mark Dow. “It was, at that time, my escape from all of that nonsense. I am very happy to finally present it in the way it's meant to be heard thanks to J-F."
Dagenais also helped provide a new sonic experience for the group's 2012 debut EP Fólkvangr,”available as bonus tracks on the CD reissue of Woven. The same songs will also be offered with the vinyl release as digital bonus tracks accessible via a download code.
“It was a pleasure to re-mix and give a facelift to Helsott’s first album, Woven,” states J-F Dagenais “This record is full of heart and soul from start to finish, definitely worth checking out!”
"Woven is one of my best achievements in my life,” adds vocalist Eric Dow. “With this reissue, we included our 2012 EP Fólkvangr, which has also been remixed and mastered by J-F. Now every song in our catalog has been mixed and mastered by J-F and released by M-Theory Audio. I couldn't be happier about that!"
In the years since the original release of Woven, Helsott has released an EP (2017’s The Healer) and a second full-length (2018’s Slaves And Gods) and logged many touring miles worldwide with artists including Korpiklaani, I Am Morbid, Necrophagia, Tengger Cavalry, Ashes Of Ares, Felix Martin, Arkona, Skyforger and Finsterforst. In addition, the band has performed at major European festivals such as Wacken Open Air and Cernunnos Pagan Fest. The group is currently working on a new album, which they hope to release in 2021.

PREDATOR - US Heavy Metal Band Reactivates After 35 Years; "The Thought Police" Single AvailableUS heavy metal band, Predator, has reactivated 35 years after the 1985 release of their debut album, Easy Prey, on Metal Blade Records. Lead guitarist, vocalist and founder, Jeff Prentice, has returned to his heavy metal roots by releasing Predator’s first song in 35 years. The song, "The Thought Police", is available on Spotify and iTunes Apple Music. "The Thought Police" marks Jeff’s return to the world of heavy metal.
Jeff proudly proclaims, “Getting back to my metal roots! I am proud to announce my first release under the Predator name since the debut record on Metal Blade Records back in 1985. A politically charged single just in time for election day! Currently Available on iTunes, Apple Music and Spotify. More to come!”
Since disbanding Predator in the late 80’s Jeff has continued producing, recording and performing with bands such as Outland (Frontiers Music), performing as the touring guitarist of the pioneering 60’s acid rock band The Seeds and producing a string of albums for the melodic heavy metal band, Ninth Circle (Pure Underground Records).
Jeff is excited to be unleashing the musical juggernaut that is Predator on the world and picking up where he left off with virtuoso guitar playing and pure heavy metal that defined the Predator sound. “I thought it was time to play some heavy music again and improve on the Predator legacy with a heavier, yet at the same time a more song-oriented approach and much better production,” explained Jeff.
Jeff provides insight on current and future plans for Predator, “while 'The Thought Police' is a solo effort, I am currently collaborating with Frank Forray of Ninth Circle on some new tunes and hopefully have a full-length release in 2021”.
Predator’s new song The Thought Police is now available on Spotify and iTunes/Apple Music.

YE BANISHED PRIVATEERS Present Bloody New Christmas Single & Video “Drawn And Quartered”The salty air is freezing and Swedish sea dogs Ye Banished Privateers are ready to trim your Christmas tree in the most chilling of ways. The collective just released their new holiday single, “Drawn And Quartered”, along with an official animated music video (see below).
Their new single is a rum-soaked harbinger of their upcoming 7", Drawn And Quartered, out on December 1 via Napalm Records - heralding in the jolliest season of the year in true swashbuckling manner, but with a ghoulish grin. Wrapped in the swag of pirate folk rock, the newly-interpreted, grim covers of two Christmas classics will draw the listener into a dark underworld of blood and bones.
Ye Banished Privateers are already well known for their singalong hymns and unmistakably folksy tunes, and now explore the less-traveled waters of yuletide tuneage. With a stiff sea breeze, a wink of the eye and a dose of bloody, dark humor, the pirates prepare for the freezing cold of winter.
Ye Banished Privateers on the new single: “In Ye Banished Privateers, for the last decade we have had a yearly tradition of defiling a Christmas classic. It started as an internal joke, never intended for an audience outside of the band. Now here we are today, releasing our 2020 annual adaptation on a metal label, haha! This year, it is the traditional carol 'Hosanna in Excelsis (Ding Dong Merrily on High)' that has been dragged to the chopping block to be hung, drawn and quartered beyond recognition. We doubt that we will hear this version being sung by your average Christmas choir anytime soon though."
Watch the animated video for “Drawn And Quartered” below:
The two-track EP presents another stunning, adventurous, yet bloody side of Ye Banished Privateers. “Drawn And Quartered” features a dancing, dangling pirate as he experiences a curious macabre Christmas marvel, whilst “Deck And Hull” captivates with a frenetic tavern-like atmosphere and a beguiling female voice meeting raspy pirate chanting. Ye Banished Privateers tug the listener through dreary winter days and prepare them for the most eerily beautiful time of the year.
Drawn And Quartered will be available in the following formats:
- digital
- exclusive 7inch Vinyl in oxblood (strictly limited to 300 copies)

DVNE Releases Omega Severer EPScotland’s Dvne has released a new 2-track, digital-only EP, entitled Omega Severer, via Metal Blade Records.
Dvne comments: "Due to the chaos that Covid-19 has provided the whole music industry in 2020, our new full-length album will be released in spring 2021 alongside a string of tour dates. However, as we know our fans have been waiting patiently for new material, we've decided in the meantime to release this EP that links old and new together, and these two tracks do exactly that.
“Omega Severer is the first glimpse of our upcoming album and its universe. It is a track that captures a lot of new elements for us, especially with the introduction of synth as a more prominent feature in the band.
“'Of Blade and Carapace' is a recent re-recording of a track from our 2015 Aurora Majesty EP. This track has always been special to us, so this EP is the perfect opportunity to share this fresh take of the song with you all.
“We'd like to also take this opportunity to thank our new label Metal Blade Records for their constant support throughout what has been a difficult year for the whole music industry.
We can't wait to share everything we have planned with you next year, and we'll see you out on the road in 2021."

JIMI HENDRIX – Two Guitars Up For AuctionTwo guitars owned by legend Jimi Hendrix are up for sale at Julien’s Auctions, taking place December 1 and 2. The guitars are part of the auction’s annual Icons And Idols Trilogy: Rock And Roll sale, reports Rolling Stone.
The guitars are left-handed Fender Stratocaster that Hendrix played while in New York. The guitar is expected to gather between $300,000 and $500,000. The second guitar is a William C. Stahl Style 8 acoustic guitar made by the Larson Brothers; the guitar’s estimated value is between $200,000 and $500,000.
Experience Hendrix L.L.C. in partnership with Legacy Recordings, a division of Sony Music Entertainment, are releasing the brand new feature length documentary, Music, Money, Madness... Jimi Hendrix In Maui, as well as the accompanying album, Live In Maui, on November 20.
The film chronicles the Jimi Hendrix Experience’s storied visit to Maui and how they became ensnared with the ill-fated Rainbow Bridge movie produced by their controversial manager Michael Jeffery. The Blu-ray will include the full documentary as well as bonus features featuring all of the existing 16mm color film shot of the two performances that afternoon mixed in both stereo and 5.1 surround sound. Included in the package will be Live In Maui - both of the aforementioned sets spread across 2 CDs or 3 vinyl LPs, newly restored and mixed by longtime Jimi Hendrix engineer Eddie Kramer, and mastered by Bernie Grundman.
In addition, there will be various Maui merchandise designs and music bundles available exclusively at the Authentic Hendrix store.
View a trailer for Music, Money, Madness... Jimi Hendrix In Maui:
A video for "Foxey Lady" Live In Maui, 1970 can be found below. Pre-order Music, Money, Madness... Jimi Hendrix Live In Maui documentary/Live In Maui album here.
By the middle of 1970, Jimi Hendrix was working on a follow up album to Electric Ladyland with his bandmates Mitch Mitchell (drums) and Billy Cox (bass), headlining festivals and arenas across the U.S. and building Electric Lady Studios in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village. Completing this state-of-the-art recording facility was proving to be a costly endeavor, so his manager Michael Jeffery procured a $500,000 advance from Warner Bros. to fund the remaining construction required to complete the studio. At those same meetings, Jeffery convinced Warner Bros. executives to finance a film called Rainbow Bridge that was to be shot in Maui, in exchange for rights to its soundtrack album consisting of new Jimi Hendrix studio recordings.
Inspired by Easy Rider and directed by Warhol acolyte Chuck Wein, Jeffery’s film centered around the idea of a “rainbow bridge” between the unenlightened and enlightened worlds. It was envisioned to feature everything from surfing and yoga to meditation and Tai-Chi and filmed without the aid of a script or professional actors. It proved to be a rambling assemblage of hippie excess and Jeffery grew concerned that his investment was being squandered. The Experience were already booked to perform a concert in Honolulu at the H.I.C. Arena on August 1, 1970. Chuck Wein, desperate to feature Hendrix in some capacity within the film, devised a plan to film a free ‘color/sound vibratory experiment’ on the lower slope of the dormant Haleakala volcano. Word of mouth about a free Jimi Hendrix concert led a few hundred curious Maui locals to the Baldwin cattle ranch in Olinda where a makeshift stage was constructed and the audience was arranged by their astrological signs. The performance was a success – the trio was at the height of its powers and played two sets flawlessly against a stunning natural backdrop.
In the aftermath of his performance on Maui, Hendrix would return to New York and his work at Electric Lady Studios. He had no further involvement in Rainbow Bridge. He left for Europe at the end of August to headline the massive Isle Of Wight festival and begin a European tour. Tragically, he would die in London on September 18, 1970.
The Cry Of Love, the first album of posthumous Jimi Hendrix recordings, was issued in 1971 to wide commercial and critical acclaim. Jeffery readied Rainbow Bridge and its accompanying soundtrack to be the next release. Despite its Hendrix association, the film was a commercial flop. Rainbow Bridge confused moviegoers, many of whom were under the impression they were going to see a concert film. A scant 17 minutes of haphazardly edited Hendrix concert footage was used in the final cut, and it proved to be the film’s saving grace. Due to technical problems inherent in the original recording of the Maui performances, Mitch Mitchell had to overdub his drum tracks at Electric Lady Studios in 1971 just so those performances could be featured.
Eddie Kramer recalls, "Mitch did a tremendous amount of work on the overdubs. If he didn’t get it in one take, he certainly did in the second one and I was so blown away by his ability to duplicate the parts he had already played! He was determined to fix what suffered on the recordings due to the 50 mile an hour winds because they were playing on the side of a bloody volcano! After Jimi died it took a while before I was able to go back to the closet with all the tapes. Mitch was a trooper with a can do British attitude. It’s all very well to overdub drums, but to do it so you can’t tell, that’s the magic. He knew the material extremely well and it’s a tribute to his sensitivity as a great musician and an equal and willing partner of Jimi’s.”
The posthumously released Rainbow Bridge soundtrack album, prepared by Mitch Mitchell, Eddie Kramer and John Jansen, was first rate and featured classics such as “Dolly Dagger” and “Hey Baby (New Rising Sun).” The album, however, did not include audio from the Maui concert, which may have also added to consumer confusion.
Directed by John McDermott and produced by Janie Hendrix, George Scott and McDermott, Music, Money, Madness... Jimi Hendrix In Maui incorporates never before released original footage and new interviews with firsthand participants and key players such as Billy Cox, Eddie Kramer, Warner Bros. executives and several Rainbow Bridge cast members, as well as its director Chuck Wein. Their fascinating account tells the definitive story about one of the most controversial independent films ever made.
The documentary sets the proverbial stage for Live In Maui – the two full Jimi Hendrix Experience sets, including breathtaking renditions of crowd favorites like “Foxey Lady,” “Purple Haze” and Voodoo Child (Slight Return),” as well as then-unreleased songs like “Dolly Dagger” and “Freedom” that showcased the new direction Hendrix was moving toward.
“Jimi loved adventure and there was certainly no shortage of it during his time in Hawaii, a place he also loved,” said Janie Hendrix. “The back story of Rainbow Bridge and these recordings paint a picture of Jimi’s uncanny ability to turn the bizarre into something amazing! We’re excited about this release because it gives the world a closer look at Jimi’s genius.”

Spain's ÆOLIAN Release Official Video For New Single "Golden Cage"Spanish melodic death band Æolian, who are signed to Black Lion Records, have unleashed an official video for "Golden Cage", the third single off their new album, The Negationist. Check it out below.
Æolian will release their new album The Negationist on November 20th. They have unleashed a lyric video of new song, "Momentum". The band comments:
"'Momentum' is a call to action, a warning for those who still do not realize the seriousness of this environmental situation. It talks about the last chance to mend all the damage we have done to our planet and how our behavior begins to affect our own survival too. Corporations, governments and our sometimes greedy selfish way of life have put us to sleep while 'Momentum' tries to remind us that sadly for we people... it's now or never."
The Negationist marks the sophomore release by the Spanish quintet. Picking up where they left off on the critically acclaimed Silent Witness, the band bring a blistering attack to bear. Through ten tracks, the band weave a dynamic spell of melodic death metal, with threads of black, folk, and occasionally thrash metal threads to sew it all together. Variations in pacing, excellent mixing, a cohesive and rock solid rhythm section, and memorable riffing all combine to draw in the listener to the albums earnest beauty. Passionate vocals rest comfortably in the fabric of the mix, steering the album with lyrical content from an environmentalist perspective. The Negationist provides the type of fist pumping soundtrack sure to energize any listener.
With their second album titled ‘The Negationist’ where darkness and hope merge in an introspective trip marked by the damage we are doing to our own planet and how this is affecting us severely. This album has been mixed and produced by Miquel A. Riutort (Mega) (The Unity, Cryptosy, The Agonist, Vltimas) at Psychosomatic Recording Studio and mastered by Dan Swano at Unisound Studios. The cover artwork has been done by Juanjo Castellano Rosado (The Black Dahlia Murder, Gates of Ishtar, Trident).
