Watch: JUDAS PRIEST Performs 'Genocide' Live For First Time In Four Decades At Fall 2022 Tour KickoffBritish heavy metal legends JUDAS PRIEST kicked off the fall 2022 leg of their "50 Heavy Metal Years" tour last night (Thursday, October 13) at Toyota Presents the Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford, Connecticut.
The band's setlist was as follows, according to Setlist.fm:
01. The Hellion (on tape) / Electric Eye
02. Riding On The Wind (first time live since December 3, 2005)
03. Heading Out To The Highway
04. Jawbreaker (first time live since August 1, 2015)
05. Never The Heroes (live debut)
06. Beyond The Realms Of Death (first time live since December 17, 2015)
07. Judas Rising
08. You've Got Another Thing Comin'
09. Steeler
10. Between The Hammer And The Anvil (first time live since March 23, 2009)
11. Halls Of Valhalla
12. Firepower
13. Genocide (first known live performance since October 28, 1982)
14. Screaming For Vengeance (first time live since December 17, 2015)
15. Hell Bent For Leather
16. Breaking The Law
17. Living After Midnight
In a recent interview with the 96.1 KLPX radio station, JUDAS PRIEST guitarist Richie Faulkner stated about the setlist for the band's fall 2022 U.S. tour: "Well, I can say it's around the 40th anniversary of [the] 'Screaming For Vengeance' [album], if I'm not mistaken. I'm sure the Internet will say it's not the right month yet, or not the right week, or I'm a week late or whatever. But, yeah, so we're gonna hit some moments from that record as like a tip of the cap to the album 'Screaming For Vengeance'. I know some people like to wait and see what the setlist's gonna be. I won't spoil anything, but we will reference 'Screaming For Vengeance' in a few places.
"There's a couple of things that I haven't played with the band [that we will play on this tour]," he continued. "I've been with the band for almost 12 years now, and we're playing a couple of songs that I haven't played with the band yet, which is exciting. We're digging out a few which we haven't played for a while, and then, as I said, there's a few that I haven't played with the band. So it's a refreshing setlist from our point of view as well, to be able to do some things that we haven't done, and then hopefully that kind of reflects with the fans as well, to hear something new."
Asked how JUDAS PRIEST comes up with a setlist, Richie said: "Well, it can be difficult. There's certain things we have to hit. We have a classic part of the set that we kind of have to acknowledge. PRIEST have had huge radio hits — 'Breaking The Law', '[You've Got] Another Thing Comin''; that kind of elements of the show — that we have to kind of acknowledge, as I said. If there's any moments like anniversaries of albums, we can kind of hit those moments. If there's anything we haven't done for a while that might be interesting to do… We don't wanna repeat too much from the last tour or if there's a new album, we're gonna hit a few [songs] from [that]. This being an anniversary tour, we kind of have free rein. And sometimes what we do is literally me and Rob [Halford, vocals], we'll write down songs that we think would be interesting on paper — literally cut them out, lay them all out on the table or whatever and position them and put them in the setlist, like old school. And we try to get a dynamic flow, so there's a start, like an impact, and then it kind of tapers a little bit, and there's a little bit of an ebb and flow. So we try and create a dynamic through the set, like I think the band have always done. But we literally do it with a pen and paper, cut them out into little rectangles. It sounds a bit 'Spinal Tap', but it works. We've been doing that for a little while. And then we kind of hone it as we go through [a tour]. So we might have a starting point — 16 songs — and we rehearse it, and if something doesn't feel right or it doesn't have that dynamic, we'll put another one in just to get that dynamic right."
PRIEST kicked off its spring/summer 2022 European tour with an intimate concert on May 31 in Berlin, Germany. For the gig, which was held at the 1,600-capacity Huxleys Neue Welt venue, Halford and his bandmates ditched their traditional leather-and-studs look in favor of a more stripped-down appearance.
Bassist Ian Hill is the sole remaining original member of PRIEST, which formed in 1969. Halford joined the group in 1973 and guitarist Glenn Tipton signed on in 1974. Rob left PRIEST in the early 1990s to form his own band, then came back to PRIEST in 2003. Founding guitarist K.K. Downing parted ways with the band in 2011, and was replaced by Richie Faulkner.
Tipton was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease eight years ago after being stricken by the condition at least half a decade earlier. Tipton announced in early 2018 he was going to sit out touring activities in support of "Firepower". He was replaced by Sneap, who is also known for his work in NWOBHM revivalists HELL and cult thrash outfit SABBAT.
JUDAS PRIEST will receive the Musical Excellence Award at this year's Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, which will honor Eminem, Dolly Parton, DURAN DURAN, Lionel Richie, Pat Benatar, EURYTHMICS and Carly Simon in the Performers category.
The induction ceremony will be held on November 5 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. It will air at a later date on HBO and stream on HBO Max. There will also be a radio simulcast on SiriusXM's Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Radio channel 310.
According to the Hall Of Fame, the JUDAS PRIEST members that will get inducted include current members Halford, Hill, Tipton and Scott Travis (drums),along with former members Downing, Les Binks (drums) and late drummer Dave Holland. 5

In a recent interview with Colombia's Radioacktiva, GOJIRA drummer Mario Duplantier was asked how he and his bandmates go about exploring fresh musical areas every time they are making an album. He responded: "It's not very intellectual; it's not very mental — it's more organic. We jam, and when we hear something cool, we say, 'Let's go.' It's not very we try to catch more people here and there.
"I would say… I have to be very honest, but the fact [that] we are touring so much… We are a live band mainly — 90 percent of our life is on the road. So we play shows — we do soundcheck and we play shows; soundcheck, shows, soundcheck… Over and over and over again, it's like a huge circle. We do Europe and U.S., Europe and U.S., sometimes South America, Asia — it's crazy. So when we write the music, we want to play songs that are gonna be fun, maybe, to play live as well. And it's not a conscious thing — we're not trying to do something, 'Let's catch more people.' It's really, 'Let's have fun onstage and have something maybe more simple sometimes.' Because when you play very technical music and you start to play arenas or stadiums and festivals — huge festivals — you just notice that if it's too crazy, too technical, it doesn't really work."
Mario's latest comments echo those of his brother, Joseph Duplantier, who told SPIN in a 2021 interview: "When you start to play bigger slots at festivals in front of more people — when every show on your tour is now a freaking area because you're opening for an arena band — the response, the echo of your song, is different than in a 1,000-capacity club. Sometimes when we end up performing for a large audience and all we have to play is death metal songs, subconsciously we want to adapt our repertoire to a wider audience. We're, like, 'What do we have in our back catalog that we can play and not freak people out? Not so intense and long and epic."
He continued: "Naturally and organically, a sound is shaped by our experiences on tour. This is something people might not understand or think about, but the progression of the band is also shaping our sound, as much as our songs and our sound dictating how good we're going to do. Of course we keep that in mind that if we do a song with a chorus that people can sing along to, we're going to have bigger chances to succeed in this business. But it's not also a business for us — it's been a reason to be alive, to play music in the first place, since we were teenagers. If we betray ourselves, our tendencies, if we don't fulfill our creative hearts, we are going to fail. We are going to lose the point. For us, it's very important to be in tune with our music because this is what we eat and breathe for years on the road. We play these songs every single night. We want to punch people in the face with our music. We're not here to sing a lullaby. We want it to be powerful and meaningful, and also it's a little bit more political than before in a weird way. Also we were [ages] 14 to 18 or 19 when we started, and now we're in our 40s. So we have a different internal pace. It sounds clichéd and bragging a little bit — 'I don't care about the pressure or success.' Of course we want to drive a career in a smart way, but we try to concentrate on what the music will create in our hearts."
GOJIRA's latest album, "Fortitude", came out in April 2021 via Roadrunner Records. The follow-up to 2016's "Magma" was recorded and produced by Joseph Duplantier at Silver Cord Studio — GOJIRA's Ridgewood, Queens, New York headquarters — and mixed by Andy Wallace (NIRVANA, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE).
GOJIRA initially laid the foundation for "Fortitude" in 2020 with the surprise release of the single "Another World".
The artwork for "Fortitude" was created by Joseph Duplantier.

GUS G. On Playing With OZZY OSBOURNE: 'It Was Some Of The Best Years Of My Life'Greek guitar virtuoso Gus G., who joined Ozzy Osbourne's band more than a decade ago, was asked in a new interview with Czech Republic's Backstage TV how he looks back on his time with the legendary heavy metal singer. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "It was really good times. It was a really highlight of my career, obviously, playing at such a big level and, of course, to play with one of the fathers of this music, heavy metal. So, just to be a part of that legacy is incredible; it's mindblowing. I still cannot believe it happened. I learned a lot.
"I'm not a guy who thinks so much about the past," Gus explained. "I think I have evolved since then; I have become a better musician, better person, better performer. That was a big stepping stone for me. I look at those days with a lot of joy, and I have nice memories, nice feelings about Ozzy and Sharon [Ozzy's wife and manager] and the [rest of the] Osbournes; they treated me very nice. And it was some of the best years of my life with them; I got to see and experience things that not many musicians do, so I was lucky in that sense. But I'm doing my thing now and I've had my own thing for a long time. And I'm happy where I'm at in life right now."
A year ago, Gus was asked by Guitar World how he found out he was no longer in Ozzy's group. "Sharon called me at home," he said. "I was kind of expecting it. They had announced a festival, and I was waiting to hear back what was going to happen. And then eventually, she gave me a call. I think it was in the middle of the night, because we have such a time zone difference. She called me in Greece, and said, 'I just wanted to let you know personally, so you don't find out online, we're going to do the farewell tour, and Zakk is coming back for that.' And I was, like, 'No worries at all. No problem.' And I thanked her for everything they had done for me. We're still on good terms, so, no problem at all."
Asked if he would ever consider working with Ozzy again, Gus said: "I think that's more of a question that you have to ask him. [Laughs] It's pretty obvious, I wouldn't say no if he called me up and wanted to play a show or for an album. I loved my time with him, and of course I would do it again. I think it's more of a question for him — because he gets to pick and choose who he works with. I don't think there is a guitar player on earth that would turn that down…or maybe there would be, I don't know. [Laughs]"
Back in 2018, Gus told TrueMetal.it that "it was a little bit of a relief" to find out that Ozzy was getting back together with his longtime axeman Zakk Wylde. "I was just kind of tired of waiting around for all these years, not hearing anything about potential tours or recording activities," Gus said. "Of course, [Ozzy] was very busy with BLACK SABBATH — I understand that — but then in between of all that, there would be all these one-off [solo Ozzy] shows popping up and I had to make myself available for that. But there was never any… I felt like there was no… I didn't see stuff coming up for the future, you know? So, as much as I loved being in that band and working with him, in a way, it was a little bit of a dead end for me, speaking personally. Of course, now he's gonna go on a big tour again and do his farewell thing, and that's great for him, but it was not a creative thing for me."
It was announced in April 2017 that Wylde would be rejoining Ozzy's backing group for all his upcoming solo show dates. Osbourne's most recent touring lineup also included Rob "Blasko" Nicholson on bass, Tommy Clufetos on drums and Adam Wakeman on keyboards.
Gus, who played on Ozzy's latest studio album, 2010's "Scream", told TrueMetal.it that part of his frustration stemmed from the fact that he wasn't told far in advance when his services would be needed by Ozzy, making it difficult for the guitarist to make long-term plans with any of his other projects. "There was never any definite announcement, like, 'Hey, guys, we're gonna see you next year' or something; it was always, like, 'We'll see what happens,'" he said. "So that's a bit of an uncertainty right there, and, of course, I had my own band [and] I had stuff to do, but I could never really book stuff too far ahead into the future just in case something [with Ozzy] came up. So it was really hard to get some info at some points… Anyways, you know, that's how it is; that was the situation. So, yeah, in a way, like I said, it was a relief, because now I can totally control what I'm gonna be doing, and that's a much nicer feeling."
Wylde originally joined Osbourne's band three and a half decades ago and backed the legendary frontman from 1987 to 1995, then again in 1998, from 2001 to 2004 and also from 2006 to 2009.
Gus released a solo album, "Quantum Leap", in October 2021 via AFM Records.

ICE-T Says Working With SLAYER On 'Judgment Night' Soundtrack Was A 'Career Highlight'BODY COUNT frontman and legendary rapper Ice-T has told Darren Paltrowitz, host of the "Paltrocast With Darren Paltrowitz", that working with SLAYER on the soundtrack to "Judgment Night", a 1993 action-thriller starring Emilio Estevez, Cuba Gooding Jr., Jeremy Piven, Denis Leary and Stephen Dorff, was a "career highlight" for him. "That was the big moment for me," he said. "Later on, we actually covered SLAYER, for 'Raining Blood', but just to be connected to one of the groups that inspired BODY COUNT's sound… BODY COUNT is a mash-up of SLAYER, SUICIDAL [TENDENCIES] and BLACK SABBATH, so that was… It validated me. If you're gonna go out and you're gonna base your music off of a group and that group thinks you suck, it doesn't work."
Ice-T collaborated with SLAYER on a medley of three THE EXPLOITED songs for "Judgment Night", which was arguably the first time that rock and hip-hop artists worked together on a full-length album.
A few years ago, SLAYER bassist/vocalist Tom Araya told Please Kill Me that he and his bandmates had a great time working with Ice-T on the "Judgment Night" soundtrack.
"When we were asked to do the soundtrack for 'Judgment Night', we were told that they were going to match up each band with a rap artist and that we would be matched up with Ice-T," he recalled. "When we found out, we were like ‘yeah we’ll do that!’ So we started thinking and working on an arrangement, we came up with doing punk medley of THE EXPLOITED. The L.A. riots, all the civil unrest going on at the time and title of the movie itself was why we went that route.”
He continued: "So we got together with Ice-T in the studio. We talked about the songs and he was cool with it, so we started working on rewriting the lyrics actually updating the lyrics to fit the times… That was an awesome experience collaborating with Mr. Ice-T."
Asked if he knew that SLAYER's contribution, and that the overall soundtrack, would be so influential in the long term, "Araya said: "When we recorded the song, when we record anything, a cover or songs that we write, I don't think about the lasting impact. It's not something that I ever really gave thought about. The only thought is 'are they going to like the song?'"
He added: "I am surprised that it's had a lasting impact. [It] definitely was a really cool experience for me."
BODY COUNT's 2017 album "Bloodlust" contained the band's medley of the SLAYER songs "Postmortem" and "Raining Blood".

PERFECT PLAN Offer Advanced Stream Of Brace For Impact AlbumFrontiers Music Srl will release Perfect Plan's third studio album, Brace For Impact, on October 14. Find an advanced album stream below.
Over the course of their first two albums, All Rise and Time For A Miracle, the Swedes have quickly established themselves as a new gold standard in not only the Scandinavian melodic rock genre, but the melodic rock genre as a whole. Brace For Impact does nothing to slow that momentum and fans should do exactly as the album's title says in preparation for their latest opus.
Asked about the musical direction of the album, vocalist Kent Hilli says, "Well, hard question...we didn’t think too much about that when we started writing as we want everything to come naturally to us. All we focused on and wanted to do was to write really great melodic rock songs with great riffs and melodies. But I think we have more ”rockers” on this album than before. I would say that it's melodic rock in general, but maybe slightly harder than our previous albums. But much like our second album, Time For A Miracle, we have a great mixture between hard rock, melodic rock, and AOR in there...and some songs even have some elements of progressive rock and some bluesier elements mixed in also. And we have just one ballad on this album. Our goal when writing an album is that it should feel like playing songs on a jukebox and I think we have succeeded with that on this album. Everything sounds like Perfect Plan 3.0, really! I think we have definitely pushed everything up a notch from songwriting and lyrics to arrangements and overall performance and sound. With the addition of the great Tobias Lindell who does the mixing…everything sounds really big and majestic I think!"
Sometimes the stars align and create a perfect balance of talent within a group. A band like Perfect Plan is the “perfect" (pun intended) example of that: a superb singer, a well-oiled band of experienced players, and a great songwriting talent with a knack for unforgettable melodies and driving rhythms. Add to that the right single released at the right time and Perfect Plan’s emergence as immediate rising stars on the melodic rock scene is no surprise. The song that “built” their reputation is of course the awesome “In and Out of Love,” the first single/video that kicked off the promotion of the band’s 2018 debut album All Rise, released on Frontiers in April of that year. The band followed their debut album with the sophomore release Time For A Miracle in 2020. Hyperbole aside, it was a major step forward across the board. Opting for a slightly heavier and more “in your face” sound, Perfect Plan matured and created an outstanding balance of melodies and energy, with the obvious references to the sound of the classics (think Foreigner, Survivor, The Storm, Giant, etc.) and Scandinavian AOR with a recognizable and personal feel.

BLINK-182 Releases 'Edging', First New Song With TOM DELONGE in 10 YearsMulti-platinum, award winning group BLINK-182 has dropped its new single "Edging", making it the first time in nearly a decade that Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker have been in the studio together. The song is available now on all streaming services and alongside it will come an official music video by videographer/director Cole Bennett.
Produced by Barker, the song features his incredibly fierce drumming style and signature production. Hoppus and DeLonge deliver the known dynamic between the two that listeners have come to expect and love.
Barker says: "I wanted to imagine as a listener what I wanted to experience and at the same time as a bandmember what we wanted to make and say and most importantly how it would sound production wise in 2022."
Hoppus adds: "I'm so happy to be back in the studio creating new music and looking forward to a giant world tour."
"Edging" is also an evolution of BLINK-182's growth together and the first offering from a new album coming next year.
The single comes on the tail of BLINK-182's announcement of its biggest tour ever, a colossal global outing produced by Live Nation, with additional shows being added due to overwhelming demand. The worldwide trek includes the band's first-ever performances in Latin America, along with stops in North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand starting March 2023 through February 2024. The tour also features multiple festival appearances in Latin America and the U.S., including Lollapalooza alongside co-headliners Billie Eilish and Drake and the 2023 edition of When We Were Young with GREEN DAY, among others.
Since their humble beginnings nearly thirty years ago, when they started playing in a San Diego garage, BLINK-182 have sold over fifty-million albums worldwide and rocked audiences from Adelaide to Zurich, having become one of the defining rock bands of their generation. According to The New York Times, "No punk band of the 1990s has been more influential than BLINK-182."
DeLonge was a member of BLINK-182 from its 1995 debut album, "Cheshire Cat" through 2003's "Untitled", before leaving in 2005. He then rejoined the band in 2011 for the "Neighborhoods" LP, prior to departing again in 2015.
BLINK-182's two most recent albums — 2016's "California" and 2019's "Nine" — featured ALKALINE TRIO's Matt Skiba.
Tom has spent the last few years focusing on ANGELS & AIRWAVES before reconnecting with Mark after the latter beat cancer last year. Travis has collaborated with countless musicians and married Kourtney Kardashian.

AYREON To Perform 01011001 Album In It's Entirety At Three Tilburg Shows; Video"Ayreon will play live again in Tilburg 013 on September 15, 16 and 17, 2023!," begins an update from Arjen Lucassen. "This time, we’ll perform the album 01011001 in full. Check out my cheesy little video (below), sorry for the extremely silly jokes. 😊 Ticket sales start October 27 at 3 PM, CEST, see the website for details. Hope to see you there!"
Ayreon's Universal Migrator Part I & II will be re-released in various formats on November 18. Pre-order here, and watch a visualizer for "And The Druids Turn To Stone" below.
Says mastermind Arjen Lucassen: "'And the Druids Turn To Stone' is my personal favourite track from the Ayreon Universe live shows. Mainly because of the amazing vocal performance of my talented friend Damian Wilson. I still remember that back when I sent him the demo for this song, he wasn’t totally convinced. Maybe in part because of the dangerously-close-to-Spinal-Tap lyrics about Stonehenge. Haha! But man, he surely elevated this song to great heights, showing off all aspects of his versatile and distinctive voice. In the re-mixed version I tried to make the track sound more transparent and bring every little subtlety to the surface. Hope I succeeded!"
Universal Migrator Pt 1: The Dream Sequencer and Universal Migrator Pt 2: Flight of the Migrator were released initially simultaneously in 2000, following the majestically sprawling hit album Into the Electric Castle two years previously. The Dream Sequencer continues the plot from The Final Experiment (1995), starting in the year 2084 when the final world war wiped out all life on Earth. Flight of the Migrator continues the story of the last living human being, the colonist on Mars and his decision to use the Dream Sequencer machine to travel back to before the universe was formed.
The two albums feature an extravaganza of stunning musicians and vocalists such as Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden), Floor Jansen (Nightwish), Edward Reekers (Kayak), Damian Wilson (Headspace/Threshold), Neal Morse (Spock's Beard/Transatlantic/Flying Colors), Russell Allen (Symphony X), Andi Deris (Helloween), Michael Romeo (Symphony X) and many more.
Arjen Lucassen continues his crusade of remixing and remastering his finest work to absolute perfection and Universal Migrator, Pt. I & 2 (2022 Remixed & Remastered) is a stunning addition to his spectacular canon. Thanks to advancements in technologyA, fans can now get the chance to hear the albums through the ears of Lucassen as he intended them.
The hardcover artbook has 56 pages, which include lyrics, liner notes, the newly designed comic by Élan López, and additional pages with Élan's "Process".

LAMB OF GOD's RANDY BLYTHE Is 'Interested To See' How PANTERA Reunion GoesLAMB OF GOD frontman Randy Blythe has weighed in on the news that PANTERA's surviving members Philip Anselmo (vocals) and Rex Brown (bass) will unite with guitarist Zakk Wylde (OZZY OSBOURNE, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY) and drummer Charlie Benante (ANTHRAX) for a world tour under the PANTERA banner.
Anselmo and Brown, along with Wylde and Benante, will headline a number of major festivals across North America and Europe and stage some of their own headline concerts.
According to Billboard, the lineup has been given a green light by the estates of the band's founders, drummer Vincent "Vinnie Paul" Abbott and guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, as well as Brown, who last year said Wylde wouldn't tour with PANTERA if a reunion were to happen. It's unclear what changed his mind.
Blythe discussed his views on the PANTERA comeback in an interview with Consequence. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "I have nothing to say about that whatsoever. And that's not me being coy, saying 'I think they should really do it' or 'I don't think they should really do it.' I don't say anything about that because I'm not from Texas or Louisiana. I've never been in PANTERA. I know all those dudes, and I knew Dime and Vinnie.
"As soon as that happened, a lot people [asked me], 'What do you think? What do you think?' I don't know, man," Randy continued. "I'm not the one doing it. I guess, apparently they got the blessing of the estate of Dime and Vinnie, so God bless. Whatever. We'll see how it goes. I'm interested to see how it goes.
"There's a curiosity level, I think, not from me, really, to tell you the truth, because I saw PANTERA," Blythe added. "I don't need to see PANTERA again; I saw PANTERA. But there's a lot of young people that never saw PANTERA. And, of course, Benante and Zakk were friends with Dime and Vinnie as well.
"I really don't have any judgment in one way or the other."
In a 2007 interview with Tartarean Desire, Blythe was asked for his thoughts on comparisons of LAMB OF GOD to PANTERA and specifically him to Anselmo. He responded: "Uh.... I don't really care. Y'know, PANTERA were a great band. Phil is a great singer. Everybody has influences, but, specifically speaking, he was not a huge influence on me directly.
"I think a lot of the PANTERA comparisons are, y'know — you got some groove and there's a lot of aggression to it [in both bands' sound], and, uh, it is what it is," he continued. "Of course, we're all PANTERA fans, but we didn't go out and say "Hey, we're gonna be the next PANTERA" or whatever."
As previously reported, PANTERA will co-headline the first night of Hell & Heaven Metal Fest. The reactivated band will share the stage with SCORPIONS, MESHUGGAH, ARCH ENEMY, EPICA and CRADLE OF FILTH, among other artists, on December 2 at Foro Pegaso in Toluca. PANTERA will also perform at the Monterrey Metal Fest on December 6 at Estadio Mobil Super in Monterrey, Mexico. Also scheduled to appear are JUDAS PRIEST, MERCYFUL FATE, BEHEMOTH and STRYPER, among others.
Other festivals PANTERA has been confirmed for are Knotfest Colombia, Knotfest Chile and Knotfest Brasil, all of which will take place in December. Knotfest Colombia is scheduled for Friday, December 9 at Campin Circuit of Bogotá. Knotfest Chile is slated to take place on Sunday, December 11 at Estadio Monumental in Santiago. Knotfest Brasil will follow on Sunday, December 18 at Sambódromo do Anhembi in São Paulo.
Talk about a possible PANTERA "reunion" intensified when Anselmo regularly joined Wylde's BLACK LABEL SOCIETY to perform PANTERA's song "I'm Broken" during DOWN's 2014 stint on the "Revolver Golden Gods Tour". That buzz only got stronger after Brown joined the jam on May 23, 2014 when the tour swung through Texas.
Up until his passing, Vinnie remained on non-speaking terms with Anselmo, whom the drummer indirectly blamed for Dimebag's death.
Vinnie Paul and Dimebag co-founded PANTERA. When PANTERA broke up in 2003, they formed DAMAGEPLAN. On December 8, 2004, while performing with DAMAGEPLAN at the Alrosa Villa in Columbus, Ohio, Dimebag was shot and killed onstage by a troubled schizophrenic who believed that the members of PANTERA were stealing his thoughts.
PANTERA is managed by Scott McGhee of 1 Degree Music Entertainment. The band's legal representative is Nick Ferrara And Associates. PANTERA is booked internationally by Rod MacSween at ITB. Artist Group International will book PANTERA's North American dates, with Dennis Arfa and Peter Pappalardo as the responsible agents. 8

AUDIOSLAVE's 'Like A Stone' Video Surpasses One Billion Views On YouTubeAUDIOSLAVE's music video for "Like A Stone" has surpassed one billion views on YouTube. The clip, which was uploaded to YouTube in October of 2009, was filmed nearly 30 years ago in an old, giant house in Los Angeles where AUDIOSLAVE was rehearsing for a tour. The video was directed by Meiert Avis, who had previously worked with U2 and Bruce Springsteen.
"He did all of the videos off 'Joshua Tree' and 'The Unforgettable Fire'," Morello told MTV at the time. "Those are really great videos that give portraits of the songs that are compelling and true and honest to both the band and to the music. So we gave him a call and shot a fabulous video with him."
Avis and AUDIOSLAVE decided the best way to capture the band was to artistically document it in its natural environment.
"It was just us in our rehearsal and recording environment," Morello said. "We shot the band in its natural habitat, and it provides a little bit of a behind-the-scenes look, but from an artistic point of view in order to capture the mood of the song."
AUDIOSLAVE featured Morello alongside his RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE bandmates Tim Commerford (bass) and Brad Wilk (drums),plus SOUNDGARDEN singer Chris Cornell.
AUDIOSLAVE came together in 2001 following the then-dissolution of both SOUNDGARDEN and RAGE, releasing three studio albums and a historic concert set recorded in Cuba before Cornell exited in 2007, ending the band.
AUDIOSLAVE performed together for the first time in over a decade in January 2017, reuniting at the Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles as part of the Anti-Inaugural Ball, a star-studded concert protesting the swearing-in of Donald Trump as the nation's 45th president. The band played three of its best-known songs: "Cochise", "Like A Stone" and "Show Me How To Live".
Cornell was found dead in his hotel room after performing a show with SOUNDGARDEN in Detroit on May 17, 2017. Officials later confirmed he had hanged himself. 1

AC/DC Children's Picture Book Due In NovemberAustralian music and lifestyle company Love Police will release a new children's picture book titled "The AC/DC AB/CD High-Voltage Alphabet" on Friday, November 11.
The book, which is aimed at pre-schoolers, was designed and produced by Paul McNeil. It is the fourth release in a series of children's picture books released by Love Police, which previously issued "M Is For Metal", "Never Mind Your Ps & Qs: Here's The Punk Alphabet" and "The ABC&W: The Country And Western Alphabet Book" more than a decade ago.
Love Police's Brian "BT" Taranto said in a statement: "What an honor it is to work on this book, and to have had a connection to Angus [Young, AC/DC guitarist] for the real-deal stuff makes it even more wild and special. Yeah, it's a kids book, but any AC/DC or music fan will find something on every page. The Mayor [McNeil] has done a sweet and rockin' job. We are looking forward to educating another generation of rock and rollers."
According to Music Feeds, Angus Young contacted Taranto after discovering "M Is For Metal" during the pandemic. From there, McNeil developed "The AC/DC AB/CD High-Voltage Alphabet Book" with the involvement of AC/DC and Taranto.
In the new book "A" is for Angus, who thinks it's good luck to wear a school uniform and walk like a duck.

WHITESNAKE's TANYA O'CALLAGHAN Says DAVID COVERDALE 'Needs Some Time Off The Road To Heal Up'WHITESNAKE bassist Tanya O'Callaghan spoke to Ampeg's "SVT Time Live" about the band's decision to pull out of its previously announced North American tour with the SCORPIONS due to singer David Coverdale's "continued treatment for a persistent upper respiratory infection." SCORPIONS has gone ahead with all the shows on the trek, which kicked off on August 21 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and will end on October 21 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Tanya said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "David needs some time off the road to kind of heal up. I look at everything from the positive. We had a wildly successful European tour, and we hit it harder and longer than any band I know coming out of COVID. 'Cause a lot of bands were dipping their toe in getting back to touring and doing, like, a month or six weeks. Including rehearsals, we were moving for four months. And we had a really, really solid run up until towards the end. We actually started also playing through that heatwave that happened in Europe. So we had a couple of shows coming towards the end that were brutal. We were doing 105-degree festivals. I remember playing an arena in Germany with no A.C. [air conditioning]. And that was towards the end. And it starts to take its toll on everyone. And, obviously, people are getting this, that and the other, whether it was COVID or not, and nobody really knows how to deal with that stuff yet. Everyone started to get sick or burnt out or whatever. And David just got this very persistent, like a sinus and throat upper respiratory thing that wouldn't seem to shift. And he pushed through for a while. And then it was kind of a thing. And doctors were, like, 'I mean, you're the singer. So anything up here [in the throat or above] for a singer, it's, like, do you wanna… This could end your touring forever or your recording or whatever.' So we cut the last, whatever it was, a week or so of the European tour, which was very sad, 'cause it was amazing up until then. But you're, like, 'Okay. It makes sense.' With the intention to come back to the U.S. and rest up. But there just wasn't enough time. And he was ready to try it and go, but all the doctors were, like, 'You're crazy. You need to let your body fully heal.'"
She continued: "I mean, it's heartbreaking — for David and for the band. 'Cause it was only five or six days out that we had to make the unfortunate announcement, which was, like… As the musicians in the band, it's, like, there goes your next few months, [and we were] worried about him as well. But he's been on the up and up and on the mend, so he doesn't wanna put any exact pressure. The U.S. tour was obviously canceled or postponed; the SCORPIONS went ahead, obviously. So we'll see next year. He needs a good few months. He's already tried to get back into writing and all that stuff, which is great. There's no point in putting an exact time frame on it 'cause it just depends on his body. He's in great spirits now and he's definitely a lot better. I mean, it kicked my ass and I'm super healthy and fit and the kid of the band, per se, although [keyboardist, guitarist and backing vocalist] Dino [Jelusick] is younger. And I can't even imagine doing it that many years. He's not the type of singer that will half-ass it; he's out there really pushing every night. He doesn't wanna bring a half-assed performance to his band. He just loves touring and he loves being in a band, and that's the thing I love about him the most. It's like he's still 18; he's just, like, 'I love being in a band.' He loves the camaraderie. So we'll see. We had a wildly successful European tour and we'll see what the future brings. He's already talking about maybe an album. So we'll see."
On June 28, WHITESNAKE scrapped three shows on its spring/summer European tour due to Coverdale's infection of the sinus and trachea. Three days later, the rest of the trek was also called off. At the time, David blamed the decision on "continuing health challenges, doctor's orders, and our concern for everyone's health and safety."
David was not the first member of WHITESNAKE to fall ill during the group's latest European tour. Guitarist Reb Beach missed several shows on the trek in June after being "under the weather." On June 25, WHITESNAKE canceled its show at the Rock Imperium festival in Spain due to the fact that drummer Tommy Aldridge "went down" and "was bad enough at the time to have missed the first show ever in his career," according to Coverdale.
WHITESNAKE launched its farewell tour on May 10 at Dublin, Ireland's 3Arena. The band's 14-song set, which was part of a European tour with special guests EUROPE and co-headliners FOREIGNER, marked WHITESNAKE's inaugural performance with the group's two latest two additions, Jelusick and O'Callaghan.
Coverdale had both his knees replaced with titanium in 2017 after suffering from degenerative arthritis. He later explained that he was in so much pain with arthritis in his knees that it hampered his ability to perform live.
Prior to the pandemic, WHITESNAKE had been touring in support of its latest album, "Flesh & Blood", which was released in May 2019 via Frontiers Music Srl. 1

CHEVELLE Has 'A Whole Bunch Of Music Written' For Next Studio AlbumIn a new interview with Heavy New York, CHEVELLE drummer Sam Loeffler spoke about the band's plans for the follow-up to last year's "Niratias" LP. "We have a whole bunch of music written now that we're trying to put together another record for '23," he said at this past weekend's Aftershock festival in Sacramento, California (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET). "Because that's what we do — you put music out, you write… It'll be our first record in a long time not with a major label, which is just neither here nor there. Epic Records did a lot of good stuff; we were with them for a long time, but we're finished with that contract now. So now we're doing something different. And we'll see how different it is."
This past June, Sam told New Jersey's WSOU 89.5 FM radio station that he and his bandmates were hoping to "get into the studio in November/December, which is the thing that excites us. We wanna write, we wanna play — that's our thing," he said. "So if we can get music out in '23, because that's what we do — we put out music, and hopefully we can keep new music coming out for the rest of our career. Keep going. We're not old, so we're just gonna keep doing it."
In April, CHEVELLE canceled one concert and postponed another after Sam tested positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.
CHEVELLE had been touring in support of its ninth album, "Niratias", which was released in March 2021 via Epic Records.
"Niratias" is one of CHEVELLE's most provocative records to date. Teaming with longtime producer Joe Barresi (AVENGED SEVENFOLD, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE),CHEVELLE recorded throughout 2019 and 2020 and ultimately pieced together an inimitable body of work. The album artwork was designed by Boris Vallejo — the famed and award-winning artist is responsible for the posters used for films like "Knightriders" and "National Lampoon's Vacation", as well as iconic '70s and '80s science fiction novel covers and magazines (such as Heavy Metal).
Over the course of its career, the Chicago rockers have generated nearly half a billion streams, notched seven No. 1 hits, and sold out shows worldwide. Their catalog spans the double-platinum "Wonder What's Next", which boasts the double-platinum smash "The Red" and the platinum hit "Send The Pain Below". "This Type Of Thinking (Could Do Us In)" attained platinum status, while "Vena Sera" was certified gold. CHEVELLE has landed four Top 10 debuts on the Billboard 200, including "Sci-Fi Crimes" (2009),"Hats Off To The Bull" (2011),"La Gárgola" (2014) and "The North Corridor" (2016). The latter two each captured the No. 1 slot on the Top Rock Albums chart.
