STEPHEN PEARCY Posts Solo Band Rehearsal Footage Of RATT Classic "Back For More"Ratt frontman Stephen Pearcy uploaded the clip below to his official YouTube channel along with the following message:
"Stephen Pearcy and his Ratt Bastards are 'Back For More' in rehearsals for upcoming...."
Pearcy's guitarist, Erik Ferentinos, recently appeared on The Classic Metal Show. During the interview, which can be heard below, Erik was asked, are there any plans in the works for the Pearcy band, or you being involved with Ratt in any way in 2021?
Ferentinos replied, "I can tell you officially that Stephen Pearcy is going to go back out and play solo shows in 2021. We're more accustomed to doing smaller stuff anyway, and that's pretty much all we're gonna hope to get involved with. Potentially maybe some drive-in stuff in the spring… But we wanna play, and people wanna see shows. We'll take whatever we can get, as far as getting out there."
"I'm just happy that (Stephen) is willing to go out at his age — he's in his 60s and he's not scared to go out there and play. He's chomping at the bit to get out, and I like that. So we're definitely planning on doing shows. We're gonna do a record... I think he may be pausing the Ratt thing this coming year. He's going to go solo. And I don't know, maybe we'll see a reunion with the real dudes, which I think they should do. They're not getting any younger."
Pearcy recently released a video for his cover of Duran Duran's 1981 hit, "Girls On Film". Check it out below: 1

STEVE VAI Shares Video From "Midway Creatures" Recording Session For 2005 Album Real Illusions: ReflectionsGuitar legend Steve Vai has posted a new behind-the-scenes clip on social media along with the following message:
"Sixteen years ago today (February 22nd), I released my album Real Illusions: Reflections. Here’s a video of 'Midway Creatures' in the studio."
Real Illusions: Reflections is Vai's seventh album, released in 2005 via Epic Records. It is the first part of a three-part concept album and featured Vail's David Lee Roth bandmates Billy Sheehan on bass and drummer Gregg Bissonette guesting on percussion for four tracks.
Vai recently appeared on The Cassius Morris Show to discuss numerous topics including: details of his new solo album, the Vai Academy 6.0 Camp, an upcoming Generation Axe Live CD/DVD, his relationship with Zakk Wylde, and much more.
An excerpt, detailing what Steve Vai is working on now, has been transcribed as follows:
"I always had this desire to, one day, do an acoustic record," admits Vai. "Just me playing acoustic guitar and singing; nothing virtuosic. There's this certain melody DNA that I have. Whenever I come across a song idea that falls into that category, I kind of put it on the shelf. I had a whole bunch of these and I said, ok, now it's time to make this acoustic, vocal record with these songs. So, that's what I'm working on."
"But I also have all the songs put aside and ready to record for an instrumental guitar record, that I'm hoping will be the next record I work on. Then, a tour. Like every other artist, I'm itching to get back on tour. I've got a huge tour booked, we just don't know when we can start... about 250 shows in about 52 countries. I have the itinerary, but it just keeps moving."
"The other project I'm working on that I'm very excited about is, I'm recording a bunch of my orchestra music. I've got about four hours of orchestra music that I've had performed and I've had recorded, but I wasn't really crazy with the recordings. It's for a series of records I'm releasing called Sound Theories. I've released Sound Theories One and Two. Now, with this music, once it's recorded, I'll have enough, I think, probably up to Volume Six, maybe Seven. I'm really excited about that."

REPENTANCE Splinters Due To Professional And Personal Differences; Former Members Launch DIVINITY PLAGUEWord has come down that Chicago's Repentance, who released their debut album God For A Day in September 200, have splintered. The following statement has been issued by the band:
"Markus, Mike, Kanky and Robby are unfortunately no longer a part of Repentance. We will all continue creating music and performing together, under the name Divinity Plague.
We would have preferred to have kept certain details private amongst ourselves, but due to Shaun Glass utilizing social media and podcast platforms to spread false information and unjustly slander the members of our band, we believed it necessary to release a statement immediately.
Repentance will continue as Shaun Glass’s project, with a brand new lineup. We have ceased all ties with him since the beginning of 2021. We do not know the reason he has not made an official announcement on the social media pages. While he continues to produce merch items and promote the release and band under false pretenses, we felt it was important for the fans to know what is actually going on. We have decided to avoid any potential legal battles with him and start fresh under a brand new name and identity.
Since 2018, we have put our hearts and souls into Repentance. From our live performances to the songwriting and recording of our debut album, God FOr A Day. This decision has weighed heavy on us, but comes as a natural result of ongoing disagreements and conflicts with Shaun Glass, both from a business perspective, but also on a personal level.
Upon joining, we were all led to believe that we would function as a band. A band that makes decisions as a unit, after discussing and weighing all options. A band that gets fairly compensated for their efforts. Over the years, none of this proved to be true.
Shaun Glass essentially treated us as session players; session players that he took advantage of without any compensation whatsoever. He conducted business without consulting any of us. He signed record deals on his own, made merch items without our approval, booked gigs and gave us wrong information regarding guarantees, all so he could pocket extra money for himself. He would not be transparent about any of this and would email everyone separately with different narratives, which would then lead to many internal conflicts and disputes. Whenever someone would disagree with him, he would threaten to fire / replace that person.
We tolerated his behavior until the release of our debut album. All so that our efforts would not be in vain. We hoped the positive reaction to the record would bring some changes within the dynamics of the band. However, shortly after he rushed to sign a record deal with a new label without informing us and proceeded to write the music by himself with the help of an outside producer. He also fired our drummer Kanky and neglected to inform him that he was no longer in the band. The final straw was when he refused to openly songwrite with Markus, which led to Markus’s exit and the rest of us followed suit.
We all contributed to the music, imagery and brand that made Repentance what it is today:
- Markus came up with the name Repentance. He also found the artist that designed the album artwork.
- Markus, Kanky and Mike all contributed key musical elements to every single song on the album. Markus was the primary songwriter for tracks 'Where Vultures Gather' and 'Deliverance'.
- Robby wrote ALL the lyrics and vocal patterns on the entire album.
- Robby handled ALL the band’s merch sales at shows and our online store.
- We personally contributed in funding the recording for God For A Day.
Unfortunately, Shaun is in control of the band’s email, social media accounts and music distribution platforms. He is also the only one with access to the God For A Day masters and the band’s logo.
While this chapter has come to an end, we would like to thank everyone who has supported us and our album, God For A Day, and encourage you to keep listening to it as we are very proud of what we created together. Moving forward, we are pleased to announce the addition of guitarist Nick Shabatura and welcome him to Divinity Plague.
As you can understand, we are still in the beginning phase of bringing this new chapter to life. If you are a fan of God For A Day, then we’re certain you’ll appreciate the music that will come out of Divibity Plague.
Thank you for your ongoing support and we can’t wait to bring new music to your ears!
Stay tuned..."
Check out the official Divinity Plague Facebook page here.
Repentance came together in 2018 when Shaun Glass, a veteran guitarist of Broken Hope and Dirge Within, recruited Mike Sylvester on bass and began songwriting with lead guitarist Markus Johansson of the group Them. Robb Rivera of Nonpoint introduced Stuck Mojo frontman Robby J. Fonts and from there... Repentance was born.
The band made their live stage debut by opening up for Trivium. Within their short time together the band would go on to share the stage with Devildriver, Jinjer, Skull Fist, Toxic Holocaust and Sacred Reich.
In October 2018 the band released their debut single, “Enter The Gallows" and by the end of the year, Kanky Lora, of Soulfly and Straight Line Stitch fame, would join the band on drums, thus solidifying this powerhouse lineup.
In 2019, the band signed with Art Is War Records and released the single, “Only The Damned Die Young” which was recorded at Electroworks Recording with Chuck Macack (Born Of Osiris / Oceano) as well as mixed and mastered by engineer Chris Collier (Prong / Whitesnake).

RISE AGAINST's 'Broken Dreams, Inc.' Gets A Remix From Noise Rock Band HEALTHIn one of music's most unexpected match-ups, industrial rock mainstays HEALTH have remixed "Broken Dreams, Inc.", the fast and furious song by the socially outspoken, multi-gold and platinum punk rock band RISE AGAINST. You can check out the remix below.
Musically, the original version is an aggressive and pointed musical diatribe, while the HEALTH remix is the sonic antithesis, with its hypnotic, dark and moody tones and Tim McIlrath's urgent vocals cloaked in a sense of foreboding.
"Broken Dreams, Inc." speaks to today's changing landscape of American society, the opportunities that are available to some but not to others, the people who are able to benefit versus those who get left behind, who suffer and end up as casualties. How do we level the playing field to everyone can have a real chance at attaining the American Dream?
"We didn't really know what to expect," said McIlrath, of the remix, "but were all blown away by it. I was super impressed by the way they made the song their own. They found melodies in it that I didn't anticipate, and they found some of the bone, the skeleton, and rearranged it; it worked and was really cool."
RISE AGAINST — rhythm guitarist/vocalist McIlrath, bassist Joe Principe, guitarist Zach Blair and drummer Brandon Barnes — is known for its explosive live shows, and its outspoken, socially conscious lyrics that speak to the mood of our times: the environment, economic injustice, forced displacement, political corruption, voter registration, animal rights, and interpersonal relationships, all delivered with big, chunky riffs and melodic post-grunge hooks. RISE AGAINST has amassed five top 10 albums on Billboard's Top 200 chart, and six top ten singles on its Hot 100 chart. The band's gold-certified single "Savior" alone has accumulated nearly half a billion streams. 1

SUZI QUATRO Drops Music Video For 'The Devil In Me' Title TrackSuzi Quatro, the 70-year-old pioneering female rocker who burst on to the scene in the 1970s, will release a new studio album, "The Devil In Me", on March 26 through SPV/Steamhammer. The official music video for the disc's first single, the title track, can be seen below. The artwork for the single was created by famous Brazilian neo-pop artist Romero Britto.
The reasons for Suzi's remarkable creative explosion: on the one hand, the lockdown, which kept her from her usual touring life in spring 2020, and on the other another collaboration with her son Richard Tuckey, which had already worked out extremely well on her predecessor album "No Control".
Says Suzi: "Starting spring 2020, almost one hundred of my shows were canceled, and Richard would also have been on tour with his band had not all concerts been canceled or postponed. So I said to him, 'We should make the most of our free time, write new material and allow ourselves to be inspired by the things that are currently going on in the world.'
"I already knew that Richard and I make a brilliant team; after all, 'No Control' had been a major success and a very special recording for us. Although I would never have thought that we'd be able to surpass it. But everybody who's heard 'The Devil In Me' and all the people who had worked on the previous album have told us, 'This album is even stronger.'"
"The Devil In Me" presents Suzi's full range of musical diversity plus a number of surprises. From rock tracks such as "The Devil In Me", "Get Outta Jail", "Motorcity Riders" and "Hey Queenie" to fairly unusual numbers such as the pub atmosphere-inspired "Loves Gone Bad", with its intimate mood, or "In The Dark", which is accompanied by elegant piano and provocative saxophone sounds, Suzi presents herself from a whole range of different aspects.
Suzi says: "Richard wanted this album to have a through line, so that you could put any track on, and it just fit… He also said he wanted this album to be as important and groundbreaking as my first one. So that is how we approached this project, and that is what we accomplished."

Greek Prog Metal Group CALYCES Reveal Live Studio SessionCalyces, the hotly-tipped new Greek prog / groove metal quartet, have unveiled a new live in-studio session. It features three tracks from their 2020 debut LP Impulse To Soar: "False Awakening", "Ego Dries Up the Ocean", and "Those Flames Are Dancing Wild".
The band comment: "It was about time to shake the dust off our shoulders, after a long period of stay at home due to the pandemic. We are happy to present you our first live performance after the release of Impulse To Soar. From the familiar setting of Studio U217, an 18 minute live set, featuring material from the debut, showcasing the on-stage dynamic of the band and filling the gap until the circumstances allow for a proper live show. Κeep the faith!"
Impulse To Soar blends prog metal in the way it was shaped through the 2000s, with the finest elements of classic progressive rock from the 1970s, but all with a very 2020 twist. Low-tuned heavy riffs meld with a barrage of polyrhythmic attacks, atmospheric passages, and full-on groove, melody, and energy. A scintillating and invigorating first step onto the scene.
Additional flair and artistry was provided by Jørgen Munkeby (Shining) with a saxophone solo on "Unfair Labour" and of Chrysa Tsaltampasi (Spineless, Bella Fuzz) with vocals on "Beyond Sight". Mastered by Grammy award-winning engineer, Alan Douches (Mastodon, Kvelertak, The Dillinger Escape Plan) Impulse To Soar was recorded in various studios around Athens with these carefully selected collaborators in order to achieve the band's desired natural, organic sound. Human substance intertwines with artistic complexity to create a thrilling and exhilaratingly impressive debut full-length.
A new vehicle has formed; a metaphor for rebirth and new shape of life. Calyces - the sepals that form a protective layer around a budding flower - is a fitting name for this most exquisite and yet powerful of groups. Forming in 2018, the quartet is comprised of ex-Tardive Dyskinesia vocalist Manthos Stergiou, drummer Alexis Stavropoulos, guitarist Giannis Golfis, and bassist Stelios Tragos, all of them already key members in the bands Insect Radio and Revenge Of The Giant Face.
The stunning artwork for Impulse To Soar was painted by Maria Stergiou, the vocalist's sister.
Tracklisting:
"False Awakening"
"Ego Dries Up The Ocean"
"Those Flames Are Dancing Wild"
"Parasites"
"The Great Void"
"Wired Crown"
"Unfair Labor"

HATRED INCARNATED - Debut Single Available DigitallyDeath metal duo, Hatred Incarnated, have officially released their first single via digital platforms. The song takes the same name as the band, "Hatred Incarnated", and speaks of injustice, slavery, manipulation, lying, religion and the hatred that arises from these themes.
Formed by Vinícius Garcia on vocals and lyrics, and Lucas Bittencourt on guitars, bass and composition, the duo got together in September 2020 with a thirst to spread the word of traditional and extreme death metal.
“The synthesis of everything that bothers us, everything that revolts us, everything that causes us hatred, about injustice, about slavery, about manipulation, lying, manipulation of religion, all in a much higher discussion, much deeper than it may seem. Our interest is also to escape clichés and without any intention of doing something exactly original, it would be a lot of pretension, but to do ours in our own way, expressing all the hatred of everything that bothers us, everything that attacks us. Hypocrisy (also) is a big part of our hatred,” said the vocalist.
Listen to “Hatred Incarnated” via Spotify, here. You can also listen below.
Hatred Incarnated are:
Lucas Bittencourt - Guitars, bass guitars and writing process

ETERNAL RETURN Release Debut Album Featuring Members Of PORCUPINE TREE And FRIPP’S CRAFTY GUITAR SCHOOLThe international progressive ensemble, Eternal Return, is a five-piece combining various duos/trios that have previously recorded and toured together. Notably, Colin Edwin (Porcupine Tree, NoMan, O.R.k.) on bass with his frequent collaborator, Estonian guitarist Robert Jürjendal (Toyah Wilcox, Fripp’s Crafty Guitar School). At the heart of the band is Dogon, the duo of Miguel Noya, (Venezuelan electronic music pioneer, Phantom Limb Recordings) and Paul Godwin, (California-based composer/singer).
Dogon have been widely celebrated and aired since the late ‘90s. Holding down this aerial act is Miguel Toro, Venezuelan-born, Berlin-based drummer (Royal Dust). It seems like a distant past when five musicians from around the world could meet in a foreign city to record an album in-person, but that’s just what they did. They came from Venezuela, England, Estonia, California & Spain to meet in Berlin and form this band. The result is something flowing and hypnotic, mysterious yet comforting.
The debut album was recorded in Berlin in late 2019 by Bob Spencer at The Famous Gold Watch Studio (a former munitions factory and Stasi HQ) and mixed at Pete Townsend’s Grand Cru boat studio in London’s St. Katherine’s Docks by Jonathon Hucks. The album is concerned with “nomadism” in a time of lockdown inspired by Noya’s status as part of Venezuelan economic and political diaspora (currently living in Europe.) Musically siting progressive ambient and dream-pop influences such as Talk Talk’s Spirit of Eden, David Sylvian’s solo work, or the mysterious and finely wrought 4AD project, This Mortal Coil -- the album is something fresh, darkly intimate and beguiling.

DREAM THEATER Keyboardist JORDAN RUDESS Performs COLDPLAY's "Yellow"; VideoDream Theater keyboardist, Jordan Rudess, has released the video below, in which he covers Coldplay's "Yellow".
Says Rudess: "I was inspired to play this song for my daughters on Valentines day and then share it on Patreon. Here it is for everyone now."
Liquid Tension Experiment, the legendary supergroup comprised of Mike Portnoy (Transatlantic, Sons Of Apollo), John Petrucci (Dream Theater), Jordan Rudess (Dream Theater), and Tony Levin (King Crimson, Peter Gabriel), recently announced their return with a new album, LTE3, due to be released March 26 via InsideOutMusic, twenty-two years after the band’s last studio album.
In addition to the video for “The Passage Of Time”, created by Christian Rios, and available below, Portnoy has uploaded drum cam footage for that same song.
"’The Passage Of Time’ was the very first song we composed together when we reunited this past summer. It was so exciting to be back in a room creating together again after so long (22 years for all 4 of us and over 10 years for the 3 of us since being together in DT). This serves as a great first taste for the listeners as it combines so many of the musical elements that makes LTE unique." - Mike Portnoy
“This was the first song we worked on and when it was done, we all knew once again how amazing it was to be working together. We knew we were on to something and that this was going to be a really amazing album. Nothing about the passage of over two decades could’ve done anything to change that. To me this song truly reflects the collaborative songwriting efforts of all four of us.” - John Petrucci
"There is an undeniable chemistry that happens when the four of us are together. Entering the studio and starting work on ‘The Passage Of Time’ after 22 years literally gave me a whole new perspective on these important musical (and personal) relationships and the way time is so relative. We just jumped right in, it was like no time had passed at all, and we created a song that has so many of the elements that make LTE unique. Not a day has gone by since our last release when I wasn’t asked, “When is LTE getting back together again?” Now we can finally deliver, and I can’t wait for everybody to hear our creation.” - Jordan Rudess

In 1997, Mike Portnoy, John Petrucci, Jordan Rudess, and Tony Levin, joined forces to create Liquid Tension Experiment. The foursome would release their iconic, self-titled debut album in 1998 and the dazzling follow-up, LTE2 in 1999, creating a dynamic, frantic, and inventive sound all their own. The incredible creativity between the collective would prompt Petrucci and Portnoy to invite Rudess to join Dream Theater, effectively marking the end of this side project. However, since that time, there have been few reunions more in demand. Now, with the world in lockdown and calendars unexpectedly aligned, the inconceivable has finally happened… a new Liquid Tension Experiment album. 1

Romania's MANIC SINNERS Sign With Frontiers Music Srl; Debut Album To Arrive In Late 2021Frontiers Music Srl has announced the signing of the first Romanian band on its roster, Manic Sinners. A melodic hard rock band formed by three of the country’s finest musicians: Adrian Igrisan, Ovidiu Anton, and Toni Dijmarescu, Manic Sinners are a welcome addition to the label's roster of talent.
The band is currently hard at work on their debut album, King Of The Badlands, which is tentatively set for release in late 2021. Said album will have all the elements every memorable heavy rock album should have: soaring vocals, crushing riffs, blistering solos, ear candy hooks, and a splendid power ballad. The band has also brought in Alessandro Del Vecchio (Revolution Saints, Hardline, Korn, etc.) to mix the album.
Adrian Igrisan, who is in charge of keyboards and drums in Manic Sinners, is best known for being the singer and guitarist of Cargo, Romania's most beloved rock band. With multiple gold records and countless sold-out concerts, he has shared the stage with legends like Iron Maiden, Uriah Heep, and Gillan. He has even been knighted by the Romanian President for his cultural merits. Adrian is undoubtedly one of Eastern Europe’s most iconic musicians.
Vocal powerhouse Ovidiu Anton, indisputably one of the best new Romanian rock singers, gained major exposure in 2016 by winning the Eurovision Song Contest National Selection. He is also the lead singer and founder of the band Anton, and a very successful solo artist.
Guitar slinger Toni Dijmarescu, who handles the guitar and bass parts, resides in the German region of Saarland, where he is a busy and well-respected live and studio musician, with numerous productions under his belt.
“Today, we are happy to announce our multi-record deal with the Frontiers label,” announced the band. "It is a big achievement to sign with a label with such big experience and love for the melodic rock scene, and we are confident our songs will reach the hearts and minds of fans of this genre worldwide. Also, we hope to open the door for other bands from Romania, a country with a rich tradition for rock music, but with lesser-known artists on an international scale.”

LEE AARON Finishes Mixing New Album With AC/DC Engineer MIKE FRASER - "And We Have Him On The Horizon To Make The Next Album Too"; AudioVintage Rock Pod interviewed multi-platinum selling rocker, the Canadian Metal Queen, Lee Aaron, to chat about her career breaking through the male dominated 80s scene and to hear about her new album working with AC/DC engineer Mike Fraser. The interview is available on Apple Podcasts, here, and below.
In this wide ranging interview Lee Aaron talks openly about falling out of love with her big hits, fearing for her voice after suffering with pneumonia and why, despite her success in Canada and mainland Europe, she was never given the chance to crack America. Key highlights below:
Q: What's your plans for the year ahead?
Lee Aaron: "I just finished mixing a new album for 2021, it’s coming out in late spring of this year. I’ve just finished mixing it with Mike Fraser, he just mixed the new AC/DC album. He’s an incredible talent. I was so thrilled to be able to work with him. And we have him on the horizon to make the [next] Lee Aaron album too. So this album is finished, we’re just in the process of signing a deal and it's slated for late spring, I think we’re looking at late May or early June. And we’re writing songs for a 2022 album - what else are we gonna do right now?! And I’m working on my memoirs as well, so there’s a book on the horizon, hopefully in the not too distant future!"
Q: Metal Queen broke big for you in 1984 and that name has stuck ever since hasn’t it!?
Lee Aaron: "Yeah it’s kind of been a blessing and a curse! I went through a period in my career where I was very anti-Metal Queen. I didn’t even want to play the song. I’ll tell you the reason why. In terms of public perception of me and who I was as an artist, I think the uber rock fans that really really got it saw that video and image as what it was initially meant to be which was a symbol of female empowerment, a symbol of good triumphing over evil. So the uber fans got it.
"But for a lot of the other public, the perception was that I was this hard rocking chick, that was the lifestyle I was leading, that I was all about swords and loin cloths and metal and bikers. My actual life couldn’t have been further from the truth. I was a very serious musician, I wrote my own songs, I was involved in the production of most of my own records and in fact I’ve produced every one of my own albums since the year 2000.
"I was just upset with the public perception baggage that went with that image and I was trying to distance myself from it. Nowadays I'd like to think the world has come full circle and that doesn’t exist any more. I've been encouraged to wear the crown with pride."

VEXILLUM To Release New Album In April: Cover Artwork And Tracklist RevealedScarlet Records recently signed a multi-album deal with power/folk metal band Vexillum that is going to release the next chapter in its influential career in the spring. They will release their new album, When Good Men Go To War, on April 23rd.
With a solid line-up, renewed sound and strong image, Vexillum are proud to bring to light their fourth records enriched by the epic cover artwork by Andrea Butera and which will be anticipated by the visual video for the first single, "When A Good Man Goes To War".
The band comments: "We put all our heart and soul into this album – a reflection of the strange times we are living in. With When Good Men Go To War the caravan of traveling musicians that characterized the first two records take up again its path: after the tavern and the forest, now stories are told during a perilous journey in the sea with a darker atmosphere. Overall, WGMGTW is a record with more aggressive and powerful sounds – a crucial evolution in our style and aesthetic, obviously tinged with that folk atmosphere that has always distinguished the band."
The tracklist is as follows:
"Enlight The Bivouac"
"Sons Of A Wolf"
"Voluntary Slaves Army"
"When A Good Man Goes To War"
"Last Bearer's Song"
"The Deep Breath Before The Dive"
"Prodigal Son"
"Flaming Bagpipes"
"With My Hands"
"The Tale Of The Three Hawks"
"Quel Che Volevo"
Vexillum formed in 2004 in Pisa, Italy and released the first full-length album The Wandering Notes a few years later, in 2011, followed by ‘The Bivouac’ shortly after, in 2012. The band was able to attract a large following since their inception, and toured extensively with the likes of Rhapsody of Fire, Vision of Atlantis, Orden Ogan and Freedom Call to name a few.
In 2015 Vexillum released their most ambitious project until then, the metal opera ‘Unum’, that features some very special guests such as Hansi Kursch (Blind Guardian), Chris Bay (Freedom Call) and Mark Boals among others. The band promoted the album by touring with Eluveitie, Skálmöld and Freedom Call and got them to share European stages with DGM, Iron Savior, Finsterforst and many more.
With a solid line-up and renewed sound and strong image, Vexillum are proud to bring to light a thundering and thrilling new album.

Sweden's THIS ENDING Launches Lyric Video For "Annihilate"Swedish melodic death metal band This Ending, formerly known as A Canorous Quintet, has released the first track from their new album Needles Of Rust, coming May 28th via Black Lion Records.
This Ending issued the following statement regarding their new song "Annihilate": "This was the first song Linus Nirbrant wrote after the Garden Of Death album. Another vicious thrashy song to bang your head to.The lyrics deal with the topic of neglect and how we as humans sometimes destroy what's around us like we were some kind of gods. But also how we turn our blind eye to what's happening to the world and to people around us."
2021 sees This Ending returning with a true melodic death metal masterpiece, Needles Of Rust. Nine songs of apocalyptic, brutal yet catchy melodic death metal, going back to the roots of what was done earlier in A Canorous Quintet.
Needles Of Rust was recorded, mixed and mastered at Wing Studios by Sverker Widgren, To give the album cover the necessary atmosphere, Björn Gooßes of Killustrations was hired once again (as on the previous album Garden Of Death) to take care of the artwork and layout.
Overall, the lyrical themes for the Needles Of Rust album deal with different kinds of nightmare scenarios. Some lyrics are loosely based on real events and things that have happened all over the world. Some are just about nightmares as an overall phenomenon. All of the lyrics are up for personal interpretation.
Tracklisting:
"My Open Wound"
"Annihilate"
"Embraced By The Night"
"Eclipse Of The Dead"
"A New Plight"
"Needles Of Rust"
"Devastate"
"Hell To Hell"
"The Hunted"

PAPA ROACH Releases Lyric Video For New Version Of 'Broken As Me' Feat. ASKING ALEXANDRIA's DANNY WORSNOPPAPA ROACH has shared a brand new, remastered version of its 2015 song "Broken As Me", inviting vocalist Danny Worsnop from British rock group ASKING ALEXANDRIA to feature on the track.
"He's been on our list for a while," said PAPA ROACH lead singer Jacoby Shaddix, "and having just toured together, we thought of Danny first when listening to some of the deeper cuts on the album. With the pandemic in full swing, Danny was down right away. He's one of the best vocalists in rock music, so we're happy he said yes."
Worsnop added: "Making music with my friends is something I always love and enjoy, so when Jacoby called me about doing something together, I was in right away. The PAPA ROACH guys have been close friends for a long time now and I'm glad they were able to see that the only thing holding them back from stardom all these years was not having me sing on a new version of one of their songs. I think this is really going to put them on the map, and from the bottom of my heart, they're welcome!"
The track, with such emotionally charged lyrics and raw, powerful vocals from both artists is set to be included on PAPA ROACH's second greatest-hits collection, "Greatest Hits Vol. 2: The Better Noise Years", out March 19 on Better Noise Music.
"Greatest Hits Vol. 2 - The Better Noise Years" includes 12 of the band's top 10 hits released between 2010 to 2019 as well as three previously unreleased remixes and two unreleased acoustic recordings recorded live at the YouTube Studios in New York City.
The band noted: "We wanted to commemorate the last 10 years of our journey with this special collection of the music that got us here."
PAPA ROACH has continued to stretch its boundaries throughout the years, including features with artists outside their genre — such as their 2017 track "Periscope" with pop artist Skylar Grey (which is included on the new release) — and most recently collaborating with TikTok star/up-and-coming artist Jeris Johnson on a new version of their iconic hit "Last Resort".
To date, PAPA ROACH has led the path for contemporary rock artists in the digital streaming era with over two billion streams globally and nine million monthly listeners on Spotify. This set encompasses their career history of over 20 Top 5 Active Rock singles, 13 of which occurred in the past decade including four No. 1 singles — "Face Everything And Rise" (2014), "Help" and "Born For Greatness" (both 2017) and "Come Around" (2019).

CARLOS CAVAZO On QUIET RIOT Continuing Without Any Members Of Classic Lineup: 'I Think It's Stupid For Somebody To Do That'Former QUIET RIOT guitarist Carlos Cavazo says that "it's stupid" for the band to continue without drummer Frankie Banali.
Banali, who joined QUIET RIOT in 1982 and played on its breakthrough album, 1983's "Metal Health", died last August after a 16-month battle with pancreatic cancer. In September, QUIET RIOT announced that it would carry on touring following Frankie's death. The band, which now features drummer Johnny Kelly (DANZIG, TYPE O NEGATIVE), played a couple of shows in October and has a string of dates booked in 2021.
Asked in a new interview with the "Waste Some Time With Jason Green" video podcast how he feels about QUIET RIOT continuing without any members of the group's classic lineup, Carlos said (see video below): "I think it's stupid for somebody to do that, really. It doesn't make sense to me."
Cavazo was a member of QUIET RIOT during the band's most commercially successful period. After replacing Randy Rhoads in the 1980s, he remained in QUIET RIOT into the early 2000s until the group split up. When vocalist Kevin DuBrow reformed QUIET RIOT in 2003, Cavazo was not included.
Asked if he would have returned to QUIET RIOT had he been approached to come back nearly two decades ago, he said: "If we could have worked out our differences and all the details of everything, I would have done it, yeah. I would have loved to get back with the original QUIET RIOT. But it was never to be. Unfortunately, Frankie kind of screwed me over a little bit here and there, and he never tried to call me and say he was sorry for what he did and make up our friendship. He was okay — he could sleep every night for what he did. It wasn't cool what he did, and it wasn't what friends do to friends. Obviously, he wasn't my friend. Friends don't do that to friends, and I figured, I just scratched him off my friends list. I just didn't wanna have anything to do with any of them, and I just moved on."
Banali revived QUIET RIOT in 2010, three years after DuBrow's death, along with veteran bassist Chuck Wright, who played on several of the tracks on "Metal Health", and guitarist Alex Grossi. The band recruited new lead vocalist Jizzy Pearl, of LOVE/HATE, L.A. GUNS, ADLER'S APPETITE and RATT, in 2013, before replacing him in 2016 with Seann Nicols (a.k.a. Sheldon Tarsha), and in 2017 with James Durbin. In September 2019, QUIET RIOT parted ways with Durbin and replaced him with a returning Pearl.
According to Carlos, he never had an interest in reuniting with QUIET RIOT after DuBrow's death. "I couldn't see [us] doing it without him myself," he said. "His vocal was so identifiable with the QUIET RIOT sound, to have somebody else singing, it just didn't make sense to me. I would only do it with the original band."
Banali discussed his relationship with Cavazo in a 2017 interview with Myglobalmind. He stated at the time: "My relationship with Carlos is completely the opposite of what it is with [former QUIET RIOT bassist] Rudy Sarzo. I have known Rudy since he was nineteen and I was eighteen. We are beyond friends; we are brothers. When it comes to Carlos, we never had much of a relationship — not because we didn't like each other, but we have such completely diametrically opposed interests. We didn't have any of the same friends either. We were never that close, and as time has gone on, that gap has widened to the point there isn't that much of a relationship. It's sad, because I think Carlos is one of the best guitarists in rock. He is ridiculously underrated and it's a shame we experienced such great things with QUIET RIOT yet we have nothing to talk about."
Banali told "Eddie Trunk Live" in a 2015 interview that he didn't think Carlos was "very supportive about a QUIET RIOT that doesn't include him, by his own choice, and the QUIET RIOT that continues. I don't take it personal," he said. "I mean, I wish him the best, and I think he's great."
The drummer added that that "[Carlos] distanced himself from QUIET RIOT a long time ago." He explained: "You have to remember, the last time that both Rudy and Carlos were in QUIET RIOT was in 2003. And then Kevin did something for about a year, and when Kevin called me up and he wanted to do QUIET RIOT again, the stipulation was, from Kevin's point of view, was he did not want Rudy to be involved, because, for whatever reason, he has issues, or had issues, with Rudy. And I said, 'I think it might be a good idea to have Carlos involved,' because, you know, he's one of the three 'Metal Health' guys. And [Kevin] said to me, 'I'll leave that up to you.' And I went to Carlos, and he was not interested. His excuse was that he was not gonna do it unless Rudy did it, fully knowing that there was no way that Kevin would do it if Rudy was involved. So he shut himself out in 2003."
According to Frankie, he didn't see Carlos again for nearly a decade until a chance encounter at the M3 Rock Festival in Maryland.
"The amazing thing about it is that I've had no communication with Carlos whatsoever from 2003 up to that point," Banali said. "And when I saw him [at M3 in 2012], it was all smiles, and it was great, and I was happy to see him, and he seemed to be happy to see me. But, I think, when the door closes and he goes into one corner and I go into another one, it is what it is." 2
