WOLFGANG VAN HALEN Blasts Magazine For Publishing 'Lies' About His Father And Mother

WOLFGANG VAN HALEN Blasts Magazine For Publishing 'Lies' About His Father And Mother

Wolfgang Van Halen has blasted Us Weekly for publishing an allegedly fact-challenged cover story on his mother, including how she is dealing with the death of his father, Eddie Van Halen.

Earlier today, Wolfgang tweeted out a picture of the new issue of Us Weekly with his mother on the cover, along with the headline: "Valerie Bertinelli's Untold Story: Love, Loss & Staying Strong". The 29-year-old musician wrote in an accompanying caption: "Fuck this, and fuck you @usweekly.

"The only thing printed in this piece of toilet paper that's true is that we all loved my father.

"This is not a new interview. My mother did not speak to them for this. That is all."

He added in a separate tweet: " I know what a lot of you are going to say. 'Just ignore it, bro!'

"I'm not going to stand by and let people publish lies and make my family's tragedy someone else's entertainment."

Bertinelli split with Van Halen in 2002 after 21 years of marriage. They officially divorced in 2007. Eddie then went on to marry Janie Liszewski in 2009.

"One of the many reasons that Ed and I split up is to give Wolfie a better vision of what two people who are supposedly in love treat each other like," Valerie told Oprah.com. "Ed and I weren't treating each other like two people that loved each other, and that's what Wolfie was seeing. So I'm hoping that when he does get married and start a life for himself, that he takes his time and marries a friend and not just someone that he can't keep his hands off."

Valerie went on to say that leaving Eddie wasn't an easy choice. "We were all very raw from 9/11, and you heard all these stories of people coming together," she said. "They hated each other and they were back together and divorces weren't happening anymore. And I'm like, 'Am I the only one in the world that wants out now because of 9/11? I'm not going to live my life if it's that tenuous. That's not how I want to live my life anymore.'"

Eddie died on October 6 at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, California at the age of 65. Wolfgang, Valerie and Janie were by his side, along with Alex, Eddie's brother and VAN HALEN drummer.

STRYPER's MICHAEL SWEET: Why I Voted For DONALD TRUMP

STRYPER's MICHAEL SWEET: Why I Voted For DONALD TRUMP

Michael Sweet of openly Christian rockers STRYPER has defended his support of Donald Trump, saying that the real estate mogul "has done a lot of good things for America."

Despite the fact that he is twice divorced and has faced over two dozen accusations of sexual misconduct, Trump has continued to be white Christians' preferred candidate for this year's presidential election, with some insisting that the president is a Christian hero who is standing up for religious rights.

Asked in a recent interview with Slabber.net why he voted for Trump in 2016 and why he believes Trump is a Christian, Sweet said: "I have put it out there already that I voted for Donald Trump four years ago. I voted for him because I had really become fed up with politicians. I feel like most, if not all, politicians are there to tell us what we want to hear so they can get into office, and once they get there they don't deliver. So, when Donald Trump came around, I thought, okay, this guy is not a politician and he's going to be different, and that's why I voted for him.

"I don't think his delivery is often good," Sweet continued. "I wish he would stay off Twitter. The way he presents himself, the way he speaks, and some of the things he says get under my skin as much as anyone else. But I do feel Donald Trump has done a lot of good things for America, especially for the economy.

"I think it's very easy to blame someone for the economy tanking due to a pandemic that's not their fault. This pandemic would have come along regardless of who the president is, and the economy would have tanked regardless. No president in the world could stop the coronavirus coming but Donald Trump has been easy to blame. I don't feel that is justifiable and I feel that it's wrong.

"Joe Biden is an example of someone using Trump and this virus to suit his agenda of getting into office," Michael added.

"There's a lot of people out there who don't like their boss, but their boss is in the that position because they do a good job for the company they work for. That's kind of how I view Donald Trump. I don't love everything he says or does, but I voted for him. But by saying all of that, and being Michael Sweet of STRYPER, that opens the door for me to be attacked. I'm okay with that. I'm not gonna run from what I do or say. I'm not afraid to be challenged for my decisions."

Back in November 2016, Sweet drew criticism from some STRYPER fans for posting a picture of Donald Trump and congratulating the real estate mogul for "working his ass off for the presidency of the United States of America."

In early March, Sweet praised Trump's actions that served to ramp up the federal government's response to the COVID-19 epidemic — even after Trump was criticized by some parts of the media for downplaying fears about COVID-19 or actively spreading misinformation about its repercussions.

This past May, Sweet said that he would like to see his band represented by Trump's fourth White House press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany.

In October, Sweet praised Amy Coney Barrett, who narrowly won confirmation to fill the vacancy left by the death in September of liberal Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, for answering questions during confirmation hearings "with poise, grace, patience, humility and intelligence."

Barrett has close ties to People Of Praise, a charismatic Christian religious group which has conservative stances on the role of women in society and other social issues. Former members of the group say it teaches that wives must submit to the will of their husbands.

According to The Washington Post, 65 percent of Republicans are white Christians, but white Christians account for only 38 percent of Democrats.

In August, Trump said that if Joe Biden, the Democrat challenger for the White House, was elected president, he would "hurt God."

"He's following the radical left agenda — take away your guns, destroy your Second Amendment, no religion, no anything, hurt the Bible, hurt God … He's against God," Trump told supporters during a trip to Ohio.

TOMMY LEE Defends His Right To Publicly Criticize TRUMP: 'I Always Have And Always Will Speak My Truth'

TOMMY LEE Defends His Right To Publicly Criticize TRUMP: 'I Always Have And Always Will Speak My Truth'

MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee has once again defended his right to speak out on political issues, saying that "everyone's opinion matters" and vowing to always share his "truth."

Lee, who has repeatedly voiced his displeasure with U.S. President Donald Trump, took to his Instagram Monday night (November 2) to address the fact that many believe celebrities are too far removed from the real world of ordinary people and that they should keep their mouths shut when it comes to politics.

Tommy posted a meme saying "Tommy Lee Really Fucking Hates Donald Trump" and wrote in an accompanying message: "Hey all you assholes that tell me 'to stick to playing drums' I say stick to playing dumb!!! Unfollow me then If you don't like me voicing my opinion... too bad ..everyones opinion matters... I always have and always will speak my truth and again if ya don't like it keep it movin or unfollow stop hanging around leaving lame ass comments on my page! Fuck off!"

Lee's latest outburst comes less than a month after he swore he'll move to Europe if Trump is re-elected. The drummer told The Big Issue magazine that he will to relocate to Greece, where he was born, if Trump wins the 2020 election.

"Dude, I swear to god if that happens then I'm coming over to visit the U.K.," he told the U.K. publication. "I'm out of here. I'll go back to my motherland, go back to Greece and get a house on one of the islands."

Lee added that America's image as a global superpower has been tarnished since Trump won the presidency in 2016.

"The thing that stings the most is that I feel like we're embarrassing," he said. "I feel like people in Europe and the rest of the world look at America and think: 'What the f**k are you guys doing over there? Stop voting for celebrities and get someone real to run the country.'"

Tommy has frequently used Twitter to lambaste Trump. In August 2019, Lee implored the president to "wake the fuck up" after he blamed the Dayton and El Paso mass shootings on video games and mental illness.

In December 2018, Tommy referred to the 45th U.S. president as an "asshole" and labeled his supporters "dumbasses." A year earlier, he called the president "a fucking idiot" and said the people who voted for him are "dickheads."

After Trump was elected president in November 2016, Lee expressed his disbelief on Twitter, writing: "What the actual fuck is happening?"

In November 2018, Tommy slammed Trump for blaming California's wildfires on poor forest management. "Can you be anymore insensitive you fucking moron", Lee tweeted.

MÖTLEY CRÜE's "The Stadium Tour" with DEF LEPPARD, POISON and JOAN JETT & THE BLACKHEARTS " was originally scheduled to take place this summer but ended up being pushed back to 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic which is sweeping the globe.

Lee's new solo album, "Andro", was released on October 16.

RON KEEL Defends DONALD TRUMP: 'Elections Don't Divide People; Weakness Divides People'

RON KEEL Defends DONALD TRUMP: 'Elections Don't Divide People; Weakness Divides People'

Ron Keel has defended Donald Trump against accusations that the president's rhetoric is to blame for the divisiveness and unrest in the United States.

Today's (November 3) presidential election is considered to be the most divided in the recent history of America. Four out of five Americans say they feel nervous about the country's future, with voters across the political spectrum worrying that the next generation of Americans will be worse off.

Americans headed to the polls on Tuesday will choose either incumbent Donald Trump or challenger Joe Biden as their next president.

While Biden's supporters hold Trump responsible for fueling a fire of xenophobia and hatred in our country, Republicans have blamed the violence at some of the George Floyd protests throughout the nation on radical-left thugs with anti-facist group Antifa, who Attorney General William Barr described as partaking in home terrorism.

Earlier today, Keel, who has previously tweeted in support of Trump's policies, took to the social media platform to comment on the fact that there has been more discord between Republicans and Democrats in our time than there has been in generations. He wrote: "And of course, like everything else, this is @realDonaldTrump 's fault. #BS Elections don't divide people. Beliefs don't divide people. WEAKNESS divides people."

After a storied career that began as lead vocalist for STEELER, which would also go on to include guitar virtuoso Yngwie Malmsteen, and selling millions of records under his eponymous KEEL with classic albums "The Right To Rock" and "The Final Frontier" (both produced by KISS's Gene Simmons), Keel veered off into new territory with the decidedly southern rock/outlaw country feel of "Metal Cowboy". More recently, Keel formed RON KEEL BAND, whose latest album, "South x South Dakota", pays tribute to the frontman's Southern rock roots.

Happy Election Day! Our opinions cannot divide us. Our beliefs cannot divide us. Only WEAKNESS can divide us. After 4 years of the left's non-stop harassment and seeking any angle to demean our president, the 2 captions (all you can come up with) for him are "IMPEACHED" (how did that work out for you?) and "WELL PAID" (he doesn't take a dime). #MAGA2020

PAULA WHITE-CAIN, Wife Of JOURNEY Keyboardist, Leads Prayer Service Asking For 'Angels' To Rescue TRUMP's Campaign

PAULA WHITE-CAIN, Wife Of JOURNEY Keyboardist, Leads Prayer Service Asking For 'Angels' To Rescue TRUMP's Campaign

Donald Trump's controversial spiritual adviser Paula White-Cain, the wife of JOURNEY keyboardist Jonathan Cain, has led an impassioned prayer service in an effort to secure Trump's re-election.

In a service video widely shared online, the televangelist prayed for "angels" to help the billionaire real estate mogul in the U.S. presidential election while also taking aim at the "demonic confederacies that are attempting to steal the election from Trump." She also claimed that angels had "been dispatched from Africa right now" to help Trump achieve victory.

"Strike at those people who think they have outmaneuvered you, God," she says, before chanting "strike until you have victory" repeatedly. She adds: "I hear a sound of victory. The Lord says it is done.

"We break every demonic altar that has been erected over the White House, specifically Donald J Trump.

"The angels are coming here in the name of Jesus from Africa."

White-Cain, who has been a pastor for 35 years, and has been a spiritual adviser to Trump since 2001, previously said that that she was confident, with a Fox News poll showing Trump with 81 percent of support from evangelicals, that he will carry the vote in 2020.

"We look at these baseless claims. First, it was the Russian hoax, now it's the Ukranian inquiry of impeachment...and it's not only against the president...but it's against the vote of the American people in 2016," White-Cain said last year on "Fox & Friends".

White-Cain told The Epoch Times that Trump "really believes in America and in making it great again. He had absolutely everything to lose and nothing to gain by doing this personally," she said. "He saw the direction America was heading and really believed that he was called to make a difference … He works for free, comes out fighting every single day because he really believes in the value of what our Constitution was founded on … understanding there's an accountability to God, as well as to the American people and those that he serves."

In October 2019, Jonathan Cain released the official music video for his single "Something Greater", inspired by the book of the same name by Paula White-Cain.

MAGIC DANCE To Release Remnants Album In December; "Restless Nights" Music Video Streaming

MAGIC DANCE To Release Remnants Album In December; "Restless Nights" Music Video Streaming

Long Island’s Magic Dance will return with their new album, Remnants, on December 4. This album offers up more of the band’s signature ‘80s influenced sound that they are now known for, but at the same time brings a distinct contemporary edge.

Performed with absolute genuine emotion and conviction, it’s hard not to be swept up and carried away in these mesmerizing songs. The power of the melodies and the entrancing sound really stick with the listener throughout the entire album.

Fans can get their first taste of the album with the new single and video, "Restless Nights". Watch the video below, and pre-order/save Remnants here.

"This song is about wasted youth; one borne of restlessness rather than recklessness. It's about a time in my life when I wanted more, but was holding myself back. In the end, you realize that you can't change the past, but you can learn from your regrets and use them as fuel for a better future," says Magic Dance mastermind Jon Siejka of the new single "Restless Nights".

"Remnants is an album that moves from dark to light. It's about accepting your own mortality and the inevitability of death. But, this realization can give you the drive to live life true to yourself, if you only let it. Sonically, it's a mix of all I've done to date with Magic Dance plus more. I hope it will melt your faces and hearts!" he continues of the album.

Magic Dance is the solo project of singer/songwriter Jon Siejka, formed in Long Island, NY in 2012 as an outlet for his synthwave songs. A self-taught musician and producer, the project is heavily influenced by the iconic synth-pop and movie soundtrack music of the ‘80s, as is par for the course with synthwave. Recently, the sound has evolved into a heavier and more guitar-oriented style, leaning more towards classic AOR, with strong hints of the sounds of the mid ‘80s.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's latest album, "F8", was released in February. The follow-up to 2018's "And Justice For None" capped a turbulent period for FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH in which singer Ivan Moody finally got sober after a near-fatal struggle with addiction, while co-founding drummer Jeremy Spencer bowed out of the band due to physical issues.

Much of "F8"'s lyrical content deals with Moody's battle with addiction, its aftermath and his recovery. The singer celebrated two years of sobriety in March.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's new disc was once again helmed by Kevin Churko, the Canadian record producer/engineer and songwriter who currently lives in Las Vegas, where he works out of his private studio, The Hideout Recording Studio. The drums on the LP were laid down by Charlie "The Engine" Engen, who made his live debut with the group during its fall 2018 tour with BREAKING BENJAMIN.

SLASH Releases His Version Of 'Love Story' Theme Song In Honor Of Film Producer ROBERT EVANS

SLASH Releases His Version Of 'Love Story' Theme Song In Honor Of Film Producer ROBERT EVANS

Slash has released his version of the "Love Story" theme song, in honor of film producer Robert Evans, who died last year and was a good friend. Check it out below.

The GUNS N' ROSES guitarist discussed his "Love Story" rendition during an October 6 interview with WGN News while he was in Elk Grove Village, Illinois to promote the new GN'R pinball game he helped design with Jersey Jack Pinball.

Speaking about how he has been spending his downtime during the COVID-19 pandemic, Slash said: "I've just been recording and writing, and doing other assorted odds and ends. But for the most part just writing and recording. It's been a good creative period, I can say that much.

"I'm pretty much a workaholic and a busybody, so [the pandemic] put me in a situation where I've had to be patient and sit and just create without deadlines and stuff," he continued. "I'm usually working on some sort of a time schedule. I usually work pretty quickly, and I'm usually doing a lot all at once. And so this crisis has sort of forced me in a situation to be able to smell the roses and spend a lot of time on whatever I'm working on. And it's been healthy, in that regard.

"I've been producing horror movies, so I've been busy with that. But mostly just writing new stuff and recording demos," Slash added. "And I've done some session work with different people. I just did a version of 'Love Story' in honor of Robert Evans, who's a friend of mine who passed away last year. And so we're probably gonna release that online. So I've just been working with different people doing different stuff, on top of the original music for GUNS N' ROSES and for THE CONSPIRATORS, which is my band. So I've kept pretty busy."

Evans headed up production at Paramount Pictures in the late 1960s and early 70s. While there, he was responsible for overseeing hits such as "Rosemary's Baby" (1968), "Love Story" (1970), "The Godfather" (1972) and "Chinatown" (1974).

GUNS N' ROSES is reportedly working on a new studio album — the first under the GUNS banner since 2008's "Chinese Democracy" and the first to feature Slash, singer Axl Rose and bassist Duff McKagan since 1993.

OBSCURA Taps Producer FREDRIK NORDSTRÖM For New Album

OBSCURA Taps Producer FREDRIK NORDSTRÖM For New Album

German progressive titans OBSCURA have recruited award-winning producer Fredrik Nordström for their upcoming sixth full-length album. The band booked famous Studio Fredman, located in Gothenburg, Sweden, to begin recording the follow-up to 2018's "Diluvium" for a 2021 release via Nuclear Blast.

OBSCURA's Steffen Kummerer said: "With 'Diluvium', we closed a ten-year long-lasting chapter of the band. With our new album, we work with well-known producer Fredrik Nordström at Studio Fredman, Sweden. Fredrik's productions are classy, timeless and tasteful alike."

This past May, guitarist Christian Münzner rejoined OBSCURA as a permanent member. Münzner, known for his virtuoso guitar playing in extreme metal, joined OBSCURA in 2008 and recorded the band's critically acclaimed full-length albums "Cosmogenesis" (2009) and "Omnivium" (2011), both released via Relapse Records.

In April, Dutch fretless bass player Jeroen Paul Thesseling rejoined OBSCURA after a nine-year break. The group also announced Austrian drummer David Diepold as its new member. Now, with the comeback of Münzner, 75 percent of the classic "Cosmogenesis" (2009) and "Omnivium" (2011) lineup is reunited.

OBSCURA 2020 is:

Steffen Kummerer - guitars, vocals

Christian Münzner - guitars

Jeroen Paul Thesseling - bass

David Diepold - drums

AMARANTHE Releases Music Video For 'BOOM!1'

AMARANTHE Releases Music Video For 'BOOM!1'

Swedish modern metal force AMARANTHE recently released its new album "Manifest", via Nuclear Blast. The official music video for the disc's fifth single, "BOOM!1", can be seen below.

AMARANTHE comments: "In a time when everyone seems to have an opinion about absolutely everything our very own motormouth, GG6, reserves his right to help himself to a small arsenal of explosives topped off with a ton or two of dynamite, and watch your opinion go 'BOOM!1'! Discussions on elections, pandemics and riots has led to increased polarization in today's society, but our Growl God simply prefers it all at 1000°F. A full-on onslaught of detuned metal with some of the fastest growls to grace today's scene, 'BOOM!1' acts as a sequel to 2018's 'GG6', and it raises the bar on every level — with a video presented in a Tarantino-esque style, sure to be just as entertaining as the song itself! So serve yourself a cold glass of Napalm, and watch your world go 'BOOM!1'!"

"Manifest" is available as CD, media book with four bonus tracks, media book bundle with patch (limited to 250 units, mailorder exclusive), gold vinyl (limited to 300 units, mailorder + wholesale exclusive), blue/black marbled vinyl (limited to 300 units, EMP exclusive), cyan vinyl (NB USA exclusive) as well as six individual band member vinyl (limited to 150 units each, bandshop exclusive).

AMARANTHE comments: "'Manifest' is the latest step in the evolution of AMARANTHE, and across the board it is the boldest statement: We are here to stay, we are utterly passionate about what we do and we will take no prisoners in our strive for musical excellence! An all-out metal rollercoaster, 'Manifest' does not hold back in any regard — from the first second to the last, it is brimful with some of the heaviest AMARANTHE riffs to date, soaring and emotional vocals and unrelenting metallic fury. We hope you will enjoy this album as much as we enjoyed making it!"

AMARANTHE has spent the last decade establishing itself as a formidable, positive and fervently melodic force for metallic good. From their explosive self-titled debut in 2011 to the more sophisticated, streamlined likes of 2014's "Massive Addictive" and its immaculate follow-up "Maximalism" (2016), AMARANTHE has masterfully blurred the lines between melodic metal, crushing brutality, cinematic sweep and futuristic sparkle. Led by the endlessly ingenious songwriting of guitarist Olof Mörck and powerhouse vocalist Elize Ryd, their rise to prominence has been a joy to behold.

Widely acclaimed as a dazzling live act, the Swedes reached a new peak of creativity on 2018's hugely successful "Helix": an album that pushed the band's vision to new heights, breadths and depths, while showcasing the brilliance of Elize and her co-vocalists, Henrik Englund Wilhelmsson and recent recruit Nils Molin.

Not just a glorious return but a wholesale upgrade for their exuberant sound, "Manifest" is simply the most daring, dynamic and unforgettable album that AMARANTHE have released to date. The perfect antidote to the nagging anxieties plaguing us all in these troubled times, it's a technicolor celebration of metal's ageless power, blazing with all of life's colors and chaos, but delivered with utmost artistry and skill.

AC/DC: Deluxe 'Power Up' Lightbox Unboxing Video

AC/DC: Deluxe 'Power Up' Lightbox Unboxing Video

AC/DC will release its long-awaited comeback album, "Power Up", on November 13. The follow-up to 2014's "Rock Or Bust" features AC/DC's reunited lineup of Brian Johnson (vocals), Phil Rudd (drums), Cliff Williams (bass), Angus Young (guitar) and Stevie Young (guitar). Johnson and Williams both left in 2016 for health reasons; and Rudd was sidelined in 2015 with various legal issues.

"Power Up" will be available in multiple configurations that will excite collectors and die-hard fans alike, including digital, CD, and deluxe versions. The limited edition, one-of-a-kind deluxe "Power Up" box is the ultimate fan package. Hit the button on the side of the box and watch the flashing neon AC/DC logo light up while the opening bars of "Shot In The Dark" blast out of the built-in speaker. Inside the box is the full CD package in a soft-pack with a 20-page booklet that features exclusive photos and USB charging cable allowing the box to remain powered up and on display. The vinyl LP will be pressed on 180-gram vinyl and housed in a gatefold jacket. Limited-edition variants of the LP will be available at select retailers nationwide, as well as the band's online store. The album will be available on all digital platforms.

An unboxing video for the deluxe "Power Up" lightbox is available below.

Angus told Rolling Stone about the LP's first single, "Shot In The Dark": "It's got that great AC/DC vibe about it, great swagger, and a good AC/DC rock and roll chant. The title is a little bit cheeky because we all like a little nip [of alcohol] in the night or a few shots in the dark. I was very glad when the record company heard it [that] they felt it was a very strong song and should be the first one that people hear."

"Power Up" was recorded over a six-week period in August and September 2018 at Warehouse Studios in Vancouver with producer Brendan O'Brien, who also worked 2008's "Black Ice" and 2014's "Rock Or Bust".

"What I like about Brendan is that he keeps you working when you're doing a project with him," Angus said. "He's talented himself. He knows his bass and his guitar and a bit of drums. And piano. He covers the spectrum for what we can do musically. It's very good because you’re working with a musician, since he can apply that musical knowledge."

Although AC/DC originally planned on releasing "Power Up" earlier this year, the pandemic forced the band to reconsider.

"We were hoping to get the album out before all this happened," Angus said. "They were getting ideas together for packaging and video promo things. And then that virus thing came along. It kind of put everyone on hold."

"Power Up" track listing:

01. Realize

02. Rejection

03. Shot In The Dark

04. Through The Mists Of Time

05. Kick You When You’re Down

06. Witch's Spell

DREAM THEATER's JOHN PETRUCCI Unboxes His Signature Range Of Specialty Beard And Mustache Products (Video)

DREAM THEATER's JOHN PETRUCCI Unboxes His Signature Range Of Specialty Beard And Mustache Products (Video)

DREAM THEATER guitarist John Petrucci has uploaded an unboxing video for Nebula, his first-ever signature range of specialty beard and mustache products created in collaboration with the grooming company Captain Fawcett. Check it out below.

Nebula is now available to order at this location.

Each 50ml Nebula beard oil will include a limited-edition Nebula guitar flow pick, designed and created by Petrucci in collaboration with Jim Dunlop.

In a recent interview with Japan's Young Guitar, Petrucci was asked about his beard styling and grooming techniques. He responded: "I, for most of my career, have had some sort of beard. I started out just clean-shaven in the beginning, but even, I guess, from the 'Awake' days, which was pretty early on, I had a beard, I had a goatee. It wasn't until… I don't know how many years now, I've got the full kind of epic beard and mustache style — it's been many years now. But I've always been into that kind of thing — how it influences your look. And I just kind of fell into this thing where having a big old-school beard, I thought, looked good on me, and I got really into the lifestyle and the bearding culture — all the products and things like that; beard oils and bums; learning to trim your beard; experimenting with different shapes. It's actually a fun hobby, honestly.

"The important thing, to me, always is to have a look that it looks like you're doing it on purpose, where there's a style to your beard, even if it's a long beard and mustache, and not something that just looks like you got lazy and decided not to shave," he explained. "So I always try to have some sort of sense of style. I let it grow to varying lengths. It's pretty long right now. Will I let it grow all the way to [my belly button], like a wizard beard? I don't know. Sometimes when it gets that long, it becomes harder to handle. But it's all about, I think, if you're interested in growing a beard like this, it's kind of what goes well with your face shape, as far as the length and the style.

"If you at all do any research on this, you'll find that there's a lot of information out there — videos, tutorials, photos, blogs. Forget about it; you could really get into it. Products as well.

"Anyway, yeah, it's a fun hobby, and I'm keeping it going, as far as I know. I can't picture shaving this for a while."

Petrucci released his second solo album, "Terminal Velocity", on August 28 via Sound Mind Music/The Orchard. The follow-up to 2005's "Suspended Animation" features guest musicians Mike Portnoy (SONS OF APOLLO, ex-DREAM THEATER) on drums and Dave LaRue (DIXIE DREGS) on bass. The effort marks the first time Petrucci and Portnoy recorded together in over a decade, as well as their first time playing together since Portnoy departed DREAM THEATER.

I'm so excited to announce that NEBULA, my first ever signature range of specialty beard and moustache products created in collaboration with @CaptainFawcett is now available to order! Check out the range of products here: https://t.co/A8LL2vzvsp pic.twitter.com/tm4OFtGvwg

ACCUSER Release Lyric Video For New Single "Misled Obedience"

ACCUSER Release Lyric Video For New Single "Misled Obedience"

On November 13, Accuser will release their new self-titled album via Metal Blade Records. For a preview of Accuser, a lyric video for the new single, "Misled Obedience", can be viewed below:

Since they began flying the flag for German thrash in the 80s, Accuser have gone on to prove themselves one of the most enduring forces in global metal. With eleven full-lengths behind them, they return in 2020 with their latest masterwork: a blistering collection that captures everything that makes the band so vital, produced by longtime collaborator Martin Buchwalter (who has worked on five Accuser albums) and mastered by Dan Swanö.

"You stay fresh through curiosity," states vocalist/guitarist Frank Thoms. "Writing new songs keeps you fresh, and it is always exciting how things develop and how the listener reacts to them afterwards. This process never gets boring. It is always exciting and invites you to try new things."

The result is a dynamic album that is very much rooted in thrash, but still takes the listener through various moods and styles, further cementing Accuser's status as leaders, not followers.

The return of lead guitarist René Schütz to the band's ranks - who appeared on multiple Accuser records prior to 2011 - only served to up the ante on Accuser.

"We are very, very happy to have him back in the band, and as you will be able to hear, his leads are definitely over the top. From my perspective, he is one of the very, very few thrash metal guitarists who are able to combine technique and feeling in a proper way."

With writing for the new record commencing as soon as 2018's The Mastery was completed, Thoms pushed himself until he was in "100% concentration mode", knowing he is on the right path when he forgets his daily routine and normal life falls away. With no structure or plan envisaged, the songs came together naturally, as they always have.

"The Accuser sound is in our DNA, and at the end of the day, it is our own blend of thrash metal. To be honest, that's what I like best during the process of making a record, seeing how the music develops and how the album is taking shape."

The shape Accuser took is definitely versatile, and perhaps sounds simpler than it actually is.

"We managed to make well thought-out songs sound simple. Crazy things don't seem like a disturbance or a foreign body. In addition, we have inconspicuously processed various genres of metal. Ultimately, we just tried to offer the essence of the band, the groove from 'Repent' (1992), the riffs in the veins of Who Dominates Who (1989), plus structures that could be found on the first album The Conviction (1987) and stylistics that could be from Reflections (1994) or Taken By The Throat (1995) - everything put together in catchy songs."

The combination of these elements that shout back to earlier Accuser releases - without repeating or copying themselves - alongside the return of Schütz, led Thoms to believe this album "must be called Accuser".

The record can be pre-ordered here in the following formats:

- digipak-CD (incl. bonus track)
- 180g black vinyl (EU exclusive)
- golden brown marbled vinyl (EU exclusive - limited to 200 copies)
- ivory / beige / grey marbled vinyl
- gold / black melt vinyl (Kings Road exclusive - limited to 100 copies)

"Lux in Tenebris"

STEEL PANTHER Shares Performance Clip From 'The Halloweenie Ride Livescream'

STEEL PANTHER Shares Performance Clip From 'The Halloweenie Ride Livescream'

California glam metal jokesters STEEL PANTHER took part in another livestream concert event on October 31, "The Halloweenie Ride Livescream". The concert event was broadcast live from the iconic Viper Room in West Hollywood, California, a new location for STEEL PANTHER's livestreams but an old home in the band's history.

A clip from the performance can be seen below.

This past August, STEEL PANTHER played its second virtual concert event, "Rockdown In The Lockdown", from the ultra-sanitized, production-filled, multi-camera Drum Channel Studio at Drum Workshop, located in Oxnard, California. The performance was streamed live globally.

STEEL PANTHER's latest album, "Heavy Metal Rules", was released in September 2019. The disc, which is described in a press release as a "heavy metal version of a self-help manual and ultimate party album combined," was once again produced by Jay Ruston, who collaborated with the band on all of its previous recordings, including 2017's "Lower The Bar".

STEEL PANTHER specializes in imitating and exaggerating the less flattering aspects of 1980s hair metal, with unrepentantly crude, non-PC sexual content as a favorite lyrical theme.

The group's music has been described as "VAN HALEN meets MÖTLEY CRÜE meets RATT meets 'Wayne's World', complete with operatic shrieks, misogyny, shredding guitar solos and libidinal overdrive."

Twelve years ago, STEEL PANTHER changed its name from METAL SKOOL to its current moniker and shifted the focus of its act from '80s metal covers to originals.

Finland's TYRANTTI Release "Veritiikeri" Single; Music Video Streaming

Helsinki, Finland-based NWOTHM outfit, Tyrantti, have released their new single, ”Veritiikeri” (”Blood Tiger”). Raging like a wild animal, the song features Tyrantti’s trademark Judas Priest-style vocal harmonies, fast guitar licks and relentless velocity.

"'Veritiikeri' is our biggest song so far: it has a massive sound, great atmosphere and a chorus to fill a stadium with. That’s why we had to shoot the music video in a big ice hall”, frontman Nahka-Sami says and continues, ”The ice hockey rink provided a great setting, but also almost gave us hypothermia. Hopefully the result can give the listener a warmer sensation.”

Tyrantti is soon to finish the recording of their second album, due early 2021. The first single, ”Aja!”, was released to great praise in April 2020.

The music video for "Veritiikeri" was made by BrainyDay Visual. The song was recorded at Finnvox Studios and Shed Studios by Juhis Kauppinen and mastered by Mika Jussila (Nightwish, Stratovarius, Children Of Bodom).

SÓLSTAFIR - Deluxe Wooden Box Set Edition Of New Album Unboxed; Video

SÓLSTAFIR - Deluxe Wooden Box Set Edition Of New Album Unboxed; Video

Iceland-based rock giants, Sólstafir, have released an unboxing video for the Deluxe Wooden Box Set edition of their new album, Endless Twilight Of Codependent Love, out on November 6 via Season Of Mist. Watch the clip below, and pre-order the album  here.

A quarter of a century after singer/guitarist Aðalbjörn "Addi" Tryggvason co-founded atmospheric Icelandic metal quartet Sólstafir, they continue to follow their cardinal rule – that there are no rules. For them, writing an epic 10-minute song without a traditional verse/chorus trade-off feels natural. While they have done two albums in English, he mainly sings in their native tongue and his vocals are as much an instrument as a vessel for words. Their videos equally showcase the band and their Icelandic world that they commune with.

And their music flows however it pleases. “Having been a metal band for a long time and gone through shoegaze, atmospheric black metal, and post rock, I just feel privileged being able to mix all my favorite genres and get away with it,” says Tryggvason.

In the world of Sólstafir, artists as varied as The Beatles, Kraftwerk, Darkthrone, Ennio Morricone, and Billy Corgan swirl inside their heads, and such influences seep into their musical ether.

While early Sólstafir lyrics delved into Nordic mythology and critiques of organized religion, more recent songs explore their spiritual connection with nature, and lately, mental disorders ranging from depression to alcoholism and the taboo behind men in particular discussing those things for fear of being perceived weak.

“That’s the real darkness that you can't see, but you can feel it and people around you can feel it,” explains Tryggvason. “Of course, there are serial killers and plagues and whatever through history. But in modern day life, that's the true darkness around you. People kill themselves every day, and often people close to you who have been feeling so bad.”

He says the most personal song on Endless Twilight Of Codependent Love is “Her Fall From Grace,” the lone track in English. It chronicles the pain of watching a loved one succumb to mental illness.

“It's very sad when you love someone and you see them get sick,” muses Tryggvason. “Like Layne Staley said, ‘Slow suicide is no way to go.’ But you’re just watching on the audience bench, preparing for the phone call. ‘Hey man, Johnny's dead.’ ‘All right, I knew Johnny was gonna die. I've been watching him in slow motion.’” He likens the experience to seeing a relative or parent be consumed by Alzheimer’s and turn into a different person than one remembers.

Although the band’s lyrics are predominately in Icelandic, that does not prevent outside listeners from appreciating the emotional power of their music. It has been said that many fans can feel his pain even if they do not overtly understand what he is singing about.

A beautiful moment in that regard occurred when Sólstafir played Bogota, Colombia in September 2017. It was the smallest show on their South American tour, and they presumed it would not be as lively. The 300 strong throng proved them wrong. “It felt like I was in Queen at Wembley Stadium,” Tryggvason recollects fondly. “They sang every goddamn word in Icelandic. How can you explain that?”

The cover artwork painting is a watercolour of the Lady of the Mountain, which was designed in 1864 by artist Johann Baptist Zwecker.

In August, Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) was forced to make the heartbreaking announcement that, for the first time in more than 20 years, the group will not be able to tour during the holiday season. The multi-platinum, critically acclaimed, progressive rock group, is proud to make an exciting announcement today - to keep its rock holiday tradition alive, TSO will bring a performance right into fans' homes with the world premiere of its first-ever livestream event, Christmas Eve And Other Stories Live In Concert, on Friday, December 18.

TSO performing an all-new staging of its beloved album Christmas Eve And Other Stories, means that fans, despite missing so much in 2020, won't have to miss their favorite holiday tradition. This electrifying livestream will bring some much-needed rockin’ Christmas spirit to fans everywhere. In addition to the full album concert, fans will view special pre-show content including behind-the-scenes footage and classic interview segments.

General public on sale begins today. Keeping the TSO tradition of offering huge entertainment value for a low ticket price, advance tickets for TSO’s “Christmas Eve and Other Stories Live In Concert'' will be offered as a family-friendly $30 all-in ticket. For fans unable to view the livestream’s debut on Fri., Dec. 18, TSO will make the performance available for streaming on demand through midnight on Sun., Dec. 20.  In addition to purchasing the stream, fans will have the option to purchase gift packages, including T-shirts, ornaments, and masks, plus livestream tickets can be sent digitally to friends and family as presents. For more details and to purchase tickets and packages, visit trans-siberian.com.

TSO’s Music Director & lead guitarist Al Pitrelli said, “So many things have changed in 2020. Masks, social distancing, home schooling, and of course live entertainment. What will not change is all of us being able to celebrate the holidays together. It will just be in a different way.  For 21 years we’ve had the privilege of bringing our tours, including Christmas Eve And Other Stories, to hundreds of cities and millions of people. This year we will bring this timeless story to your living rooms. We will miss seeing all of you in person, but like Paul O’Neill always said, ‘adapt, overcome, and improvise.’ That’s exactly what we are going to do. This will be an opportunity to see your favorite holiday story up close and personal. We can’t wait to share this with all of you. In the meantime... Stay safe. Stay healthy. We’re on our way!”

This special event will bring together members of both the East and West bands for the first time since 2000 when TSO first began touring with two full groups. For the livestream, Bryan Hicks will narrate and Al Pitrelli (guitar) and Derek Wieland (keyboards) will serve as musical directors. The band will feature Chris Caffery (guitar), Mee Eun Kim (keyboards), Johnny Lee Middleton (bass), Asha Mevlana (violin), and Jeff Plate (drums). Vocalists will be Russell Allen, Nate Amor, John Brink, Erika Jerry, Chloe Lowery, Georgia Napolitano, and Jeff Scott Soto.

A product of the vision and imagination of TSO’s late founder, composer, and lyricist Paul O’Neill, Christmas Eve And Other Stories gave birth to the unique format O’Neill called “Rock Theater.” The story is set on Christmas Eve when a young angel is sent to Earth to bring back what is best representative of humanity.  Following favorite TSO themes of “strangers helping strangers” and “the kindness of others,” “Christmas Eve and Other Stories” takes listeners all over the world to help reunite a young girl with her distraught father. The album features such fan-favorites as both of which have not been performed live in recent years. The rock opera also features such TSO classics as "Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24," "O’ Come All Ye Faithful," "Good King Joy," "Promises To Keep," "This Christmas Day," “Ornament,” and the epic “Old City Bar.”

The debut studio album of Christmas Eve And Other Stories is available as a part of "The Christmas Trilogy," a three-album collection that also includes definitive TSO albums The Christmas Attic and The Lost Christmas Eve. "The Trilogy," which has been out of print for several years, will be available on November 20, and is available for pre-order now.

Since its historic touring debut, TSO has played approximately 2,100 concert dates for more than 17 million fans and has sold in excess of 12 million albums and DVDs.

HATEBREED Discuss New Song "Instinctive (Slaughterlust)" In New Album Trailer; Video

Hatebreed are set to release their eighth studio album, Weight Of The False Self, on November 27 via Nuclear Blast. The 12-track album is stacked with pit-starting anthems and is available for pre-order here.

In the new video trailer below, the band discuss the song and music video, "Instinctive (Slaughterlust)":

Weight of The False Self proves that over 20 years deep into an iconic career, Hatebreed remain as vital as ever.

Renowned for their ability to provide an intense and cathartic release for their fans, Hatebreed challenged themselves and their writing style in order to produce material that is exceptionally relatable in a contemporary world flooded with overstimulation, emotional dampening, and lack of social patience.

"Weight of The False Self is a perfect representation of Hatebreed in 2020, a fresh onslaught of soon-to-be classics with all the elements that led you here since day one," explains guitarist Frank Novinec.

Drummer Matt Byrne shares, "There's no shortage of beefy riffs and adrenaline-fueled drums on this record. I'm proud to say that we will consistently provide a soundtrack to which you can mosh in your living room and destroy your apartment."n this record. DÉLUGE Share Full Audio Stream Of New Album Ægo Templo

DÉLUGE Share Full Audio Stream Of New Album Ægo Templo

France's Déluge recently released their sophomore album, Ægo Templo, via Metal Blade Records. A full album audio stream can be found below. Ægo Templo can be ordered in various formats here.

France has long been a fertile breeding ground for black metal, and one of its best kept secrets is Déluge, who have been kicking up a blend of that genre and post-hardcore since 2014. Dropping their debut full-length Æther in 2015, in 2020 they return with sophomore effort Ægo Templo, a more accessible record that pushes their sound in ever more imaginative directions. "I wanted to go further into something more 'easy to listen to', but I really did not want to lose what we had, that melancholia and the essence of our music," states founding guitarist François-Thibaut Hordé. "It was a very interesting - and exhausting - challenge, and to me we have succeeded. We are really proud of this new record."

Produced by François-Thibaut with assistance from engineers Thibault Chaumont/Deviant Lab studio (Igorrr, Carpenter Brut, Birds in Row) - who also mixed and mastered the album - and Amaury Sauvé / The Apiary studio who recorded the drums, Ægo Templo marks a bold step forward from their earlier recorded output. Featuring clean vocals on almost every track, keyboards and additional instruments on several songs, plus soprano saxophone on "Opprobre", this new offering separates Déluge from their contemporaries, all the while maintaining their identity.

The band also turned to Valnoir from Metastazis Studio in Paris to once again design their artwork, and they asked several artists to guest on the record: Tetsuya Fukagawa of Japanese Screamo legends Envy adds vocals to "Gloire Au Silence"; Matthieu Metzger provides saxophone on "Opprobre"; and Hélène Muesser contributes vocals on "Abysses", "Ægo Templo" and "Digue" - all helping to add further depths to the music.

Tracklisting:

"Soufre"
"Opprobre"
"Abysses"
"Fratres"
"Gloire Au Silence"
"Ægo Templo"
"Baïne"
"Digue"
"Béryl"

PINK FLOYD - Upcoming Delicate Sound Of Thunder Multi-Format Release Unboxed; Video

PINK FLOYD - Upcoming Delicate Sound Of Thunder Multi-Format Release Unboxed; Video

Warner Music [Sony Music outside Europe] will release Pink Floyd’s Delicate Sound Of Thunder on Blu-ray, DVD, 2-CD, 3-disc vinyl and deluxe 4-disc edition with bonus tracks, on November 20. A new unboxing video can be found below.

Across the various different formats, the release of Delicate Sound Of Thunder encapsulates a band at their best. Alongside the classic live album and full concert film (restored and re-edited from the original 35mm film and enhanced with 5.1 surround sound), included in The Later Years box set, all editions feature 24-page photo booklets, with the 4-disc box edition including a 40-page photo booklet, tour poster and postcards. The 3-LP 180-gram vinyl set includes 9 songs not included on the 1988 release of the album, while the 2-CD includes 8 tracks more than its original release.

In 1987, Pink Floyd made a triumphant resurgence. The legendary British band, formed in 1967, had suffered the loss of two co-founders: keyboardist / vocalist Richard Wright, who left after sessions for The Wall in 1979, and bass player and lyricist Roger Waters, who had left to go solo in 1985, soon after the 1983 album The Final Cut.

The gauntlet was thus laid down for guitarist/singer David Gilmour and drummer Nick Mason, who proceeded to create the multi-platinum A Momentary Lapse Of Reason album, a global chart smash, which also saw the return of Richard Wright to the fold.

Originally released in September 1987, A Momentary Lapse Of Reason was quickly embraced by fans worldwide, who flocked to attend the live tour dates, which started within days of the album’s release. The tour played to more than 4.25 million fans over more than two years, and, as a celebration of the enduring talent and global appeal of Pink Floyd, was unsurpassed at the time.

Filmed at Long Island’s Nassau Coliseum in August 1988 and directed by Wayne Isham, the 2020 release of the Grammy Award nominated Delicate Sound Of Thunder is sourced directly from over 100 cans of original 35mm negatives, painstakingly restored and transferred to 4K, and completely re-edited by Benny Trickett from the restored and upgraded footage, under the creative direction of Aubrey Powell/Hipgnosis. Similarly, the sound was completely remixed from the original multitrack tapes by longtime Pink Floyd engineer Andy Jackson with Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour, assisted by Damon Iddins.

Pink Floyd’s stellar supporting cast for the live dates included: Jon Carin (Keyboards, Vocals), Tim Renwick (Guitars, Vocals), Guy Pratt (Bass, Vocals), Gary Wallis (Percussion), Scott Page (Saxophones, Guitar), Margret Taylor (Backing Vocals), Rachel Fury (Backing Vocals) and Durga McBroom (Backing Vocals).

Technical credits include: Film Producers: Curt Marvis and Carl Wyant; Director of Photography: Marc Reshovsky; Lighting Designer: Marc Brickman, with conceptual footage directed by Storm Thorgerson, except ‘Money’ directed by Storm Thorgerson, Barry Chattington and Peter Medak. Animation on 'Time' was by Ian Emes.

The setlist carefully balances the then-new material and Pink Floyd classics, including songs from The Dark Side Of The Moon ("Time", "On The Run", "The Great Gig In The Sky" and "Us And Them"), the anthemic title track of Wish You Were Here, The Wall's "Comfortably Numb" and a cathartic "Run Like Hell". The 2-CD version features all the songs from A Momentary Lapse Of Reason including the powerful "Learning To Fly", the lyrical "On The Turning Away", and the mesmerising "Sorrow". Other formats include a variety of songs.

As a record of the creative power of David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright at their incendiary best, Pink Floyd’s Delicate Sound of Thunder is an engrossing and uplifting event, to be enjoyed by any rock music fan.

Finnish Death Metallers OMNIVORTEX Unleash New Single / Video "At The Mountains Of Madness"; Debut Album To Be Released This Month

Following their first single release in August, Finnish death metallers Omnivortex have released their second song from debut album Diagrams Of Consciousness, out on November 20th via Concorde Music Company. Entitled "At The Mountains Of Madness", the band's lead guitarist Severi Saarioja comments:

"At The Mountains Of Madness' is one of the faster songs on the album; it is very straightforward and unrelenting. The middle part of the song is calm and more relaxed with different vocal melodies. From there it forms back in to a more brutal approach. Lyrically speaking, it is based on HP Lovecraft's novels, one of which the song got it's name from."

ISLE OF THE CROSS Release “Paradigm” Video

ISLE OF THE CROSS Release “Paradigm” Video

Progressive-death metal band Isle Of The Cross have unleashed their new video "Paradigm" in support of their debut album Excelsis released this past February via Rockshots Records.

The band explains the track in further detail:

"Paradigm expresses the agony of waiting for his love to hopefully arrive in this enigmatic world he has been subjected to in the afterlife. He promises he will not cross over into eternity without her. The common theory of spirits/ghosts living in an in-between world where they have a choice to cross over or not is a common theme throughout the album and the main theme altogether of Paradigm."

Infusing a blend from the avant-garde realms of extreme, symphonic, melodic, and technical death-metal, Isle Of The Cross is led by composer and multi-instrumentalist Je Schneider.

The debut full length Excelsis is a concept release based on a tale of two lovers amidst betrayal, murder and their search to reunite in the afterlife. From the immediate and vicious thrust of the opening track 'Sacrifice', the listener is quickly catapulted into an enigmatic journey of sonic power. From the furious to the melodious opuses on the album, the listener is enveloped in a dynamic exploration until the very end. At the heart of Isle Of The Cross is the conveyance of depth, poignancy, and redemption through the endurance of tragedy.

SADISTIC EMBODIMENT – “Stranger” Drum Playthrough Video Streaming

SADISTIC EMBODIMENT – “Stranger” Drum Playthrough Video Streaming

Canada’s Sadistic Embodiment released their new album, Blood Spell this past September via CDN Records. The full-length follows the band’s three EPs Beloved Imprisonment (2019), Blodörn (2018), and Self-Titled (2018).

Featuring a behemoth of nine assaulting tracks, drummer Bryan “Newbs” Newbury is sharing with fans cam footage of his terminator approach to the kit for the band's track "Stranger".

Bryan “Newbs” Newbury has been shredding the drum kit in Western Canada since 2002 working his way up the ranks to become one of the country’s most beloved, fun, positive, and beastly, bearded metal drummers. Newbury wears his obvious influences on his sleeve, literally! Heavy names like Gene Hoglan, Neil Peart, and Vinnie Paul shape his style and love of groovy hard-hitting metal.

Among his current band Sadistic Embodiment, Newbury also drums for international touring artists Into Eternity and Untimely Demise. He also is endorsed by Pearl Drums, Sabian Cymbals, Vater Drumsticks, Remo Drum Heads, Sweet Spot Clutches, High Life Super Foods, Allmax Nutrition, Fresh Cap Mushrooms, and The Gilded Beard.

“After spitting out three EPs this last couple of years, we were really stoked and kind of nervous settling into a longer writing and recording process for Blood Spell. As per usual, we cranked out the material during bi-monthly jams, but this time we really took our time crafting the music once the main structure of the songs was built. Our sound is still exactly the same, but the listeners may hear more broad musical influences across the nine tracks.  There are tracks that sound distinctively Wally and Jason and certain tracks where you really hear Bryan shine as he shows off his technical prowess.

A lot of our songs are longer than your average death metal track, and they are relatively simple in regards to guitar and lyrical work. But with longer playtimes, we were able to fit in more ambiance and guitars solos into every nook and cranny," the band adds.

Former URIAH HEEP Keyboardist KEN HENSLEY Dead At 75

Former URIAH HEEP Keyboardist KEN HENSLEY Dead At 75

Former URIAH HEEP keyboardist Ken Hensley has died. He was 75 years old.

The news of his passing was confirmed earlier today (Thursday, November 5) by his brother Trevor.

"I am writing this with a heavy heart to let you know that my brother Ken Hensley passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening," Trevor wrote. "His beautiful wife Monica was at his side and comforted Ken in his last few minutes with us.

"We are all devastated by this tragic and incredibly unexpected loss and ask that you please give us some space and time to come to terms with it.

"Ken will be cremated in a private ceremony in Spain so please don’t ask for information about a funeral.

"Ken has gone but he will never be forgotten and will always be in our hearts.

"Stay safe out there."

Ken was URIAH HEEP's keyboard player from 1970 to 1980. He wrote or co-wrote the majority of the band's songs until his departure, including "Easy Livin'", "Stealin'", "Lady In Black" and "Free Me".

Earlier this year, Ken told Eonmusic that he had no interest in returning to URIAH HEEP. "I did the reunion thing in Moscow with Mick [Box] about five or six years ago [on October 15, 2015 at Moscow Crocus], and I was just doing it for money," he said. "That wasn't all together a pleasant experience because I expected it to be like it was in 1975 or '73 or '74, so I was crushed by my own expectations, to be perfectly honest with you.

"I'm perfectly happy with where I am. I may have played my last show, because the virus has killed every show that I'd planned for this year, and we're unlikely to be able to play next year. But that doesn't bother me either, because I've had such a wonderful life, and so much of my life is way beyond anything I ever dreamed I would achieve, so I can sit back and say it was great, it was fantastic, and just get on with other things. I'm just very peaceful that it happened with where I'm at, and I know that if I got on stage with HEEP again, it would just be a facsimile, and I never want to be part of that."

Regarding his departure from URIAH HEEP, Ken said: "We had almost a competition in the band on who would replace [previous singer] John Lawton, and the band took the majority position and hired John Sloman against my objections. And I knew he was wrong — somewhere between Gino Vannelli and Stevie Wonder, who desperately wanted to be Robert Plant, was never going to be the right front man for the band. And in the studio when we recorded 'Conquest', I couldn't believe the vocals; it was impossible to get him to sing straight. And so I would moan regularly about it, in the producer's chair, but it didn't make any difference. By then, everybody was so enthralled by this new singer, and the fact that they had beaten me in a competition, and so yes, you're right; by the time we left the studio after making that album I was done.

"I went on the obligatory European tour, which was no fun at all, and then we broke up in, I think Portugal, which was the last show we did. I woke up in my hotel room, and I said, 'Well, that's it; I'm done.' Went back to London, called a meeting, and just said, 'Sorry, but I've had enough,' I didn't know what I was going to do, but I knew I didn't want to do that."

I am writing this with a heavy heart to let you know that my brother Ken Hensley passed away peacefully on Wednesday...
